Four and a half years earlier, Daisy Banela , or as the media called her, the Barbaric Bunny, was getting ready for a mission. She double checked that her White Fang mask was sitting correctly, and that the strap wasn't interfering with her short brunette hair, mixed with blonde streaks thanks to the dye she used, a pattern that even extended to her rabbit ears. Green eyes peered out from the mask, as she double checked her orders. As one of the White Fang's best assassins, her target was one of the SDC's executives, one known for cruelty towards faunus, even beating them. Rumors even hinted he ran a faunus sex trafficking ring. Now that's a man that needs to die, Daisy thought. And maybe his house can become a beacon of freedom too, she continued in her head with a sadistic grin, as she packed some Molotov cocktails, along with some of her other tricks of the trade. She slipped the twin parts of Assassin's Bite onto her wrists, double checking their mechanics. The blades extended beautifully, and retracted just as beautifully, before they spun around on her wrists, the silenced gun barrels extending nicely, and then spun again, to the loud barrels, as she called them. She did a double check of her ammo, and then got ready to go.

One covert trip later, she was outside the gates to the mansion where her target lived. It was a typical rich person's house, walls, hedges, perfectly manicured lawns, flower arrangements, statues, the works, at least from what she could see outside, as she searched for a way in. The issue was that, as was typical, there were also plenty of guards. Hmmm, how to get in, she thought as she patrolled the perimeter. At one point she noticed a gap in the fence, not big, but just enough for her slim body to fit through, long legs helping her dash to cover behind a hedge. Unfortunately, she had made enough noise to attract a guard, and before he could investigate, activated her Semblance.

That's right, I'm nothing to worry about, she thought as the guard seemingly glanced at her, but thanks to Disregard, he either didn't notice, or thought she was just another of his master's statues. She had to be careful, when using it, as she was never truly invisible, or anything like that, just part of the background. Moving with it active would've given her away, and even breathing put her at risk, at least in this situation. She exhaled as the guard walked away, scanning her surroundings for a way into the mansion. That was a close one, and she'd have to be careful in the future. Hopefully, her target wasn't looking out a window, since Disregard only worked so far, and only on weak minds. When she first joined up, Adam had actually NOTICED that his eyes didn't want to settle on her, and that's why she was in the position she was in now, as one of the White Fang's best assassins, and this wasn't her first job either.

As she made her way towards the mansion, she threw a few Molotovs in key locations, all grabbing the attention of guards rushing to put out the fire. She also noticed a side door that upon investigation, led to a kitchen. Luckily, everyone was already asleep, or at the very least, being quiet, as she snuck her way up, dodging guards and placing as she made her way to the master bedroom, finding her target asleep, but he woke up upon her entrance. "You..." he said, his eyes widening in fear as she rotated her weapons to the blades and advanced upon him, lopping off the hand reaching for his nightstand, a button on top for summoning guards.

"Is this what you do to my fellow faunus?" Daisy taunts, as she slices open his legs, and then finally cutting them off. "Now...how many have you forced yourself upon? How many faunus girls have been subject to your unwanted advances, or those of others?" She asked angrily, as she spun the Bites around, putting bullets into his crotch, and then stabbing what remained. Blood spurted everywhere, as he cried out in pain. His cries of pain became sobs, as she continued to exact her vengeance, to punish him for all his crimes against the faunus, stabbing all over him, slashing, and then finally, once she had enough, slashing his throat. She smiled evilly, a cold sadistic smile that hinted at bloodlust, a desire to kill and kill and kill, until all her targets were dead. She threw the last of her Molotovs, leaping out of a window to safety, so she could watch the property burn.

All the guards were scrambling around, trying to put out the fire with garden hoses, when she saw a car pull up, and out stepped someone she assumed was the lady of the house, staring up at the burning house in horror, crying out in despair. That's right bitch, your husband is dead, and your home is burning, Daisy thought as she watched from the tree she was perched in. But what she heard the woman say next, beneath the sounds of yelling and the roar of the fire, too soft for her human ears, but audible to her rabbit ears, is what made made the Barbaric Bunny's blood that normally ran hot with the desire to kill the enemies of her people, turn as cold as ice.

"My son! WHERE IS MY SON?!" She heard the woman cry out. She cared not about her husband in the moment. It was her child. No...don't tell me, Daisy thought, as she glanced at the burning house, already heading back towards it despite the danger. She may be infamous as one of the White Fang's deadliest and most bloodthirsty assassins, but even she had a code of honor. She wouldn't go for kids, or anyone innocent, unless they were in her way, and even then, preferred non-lethals. She understood that there was a difference between true cruelty, true evil, and people just doing their jobs because otherwise, they'd be next. But NO child would ever die by her hand, even as she went inside the burning house, scarf over her nose and mouth to attempt to keep the smoke out.

She checked thoroughly, searching every room for a child. Even the reason she was here was forgotten for the moment, as she ran around, trying to find the child. She choked on the smoke, as she kicked down one door, to find a child's room, and a little boy of about 3 apparently asleep in bed. Dear gods no, she thought as she rushed over, finding the child wasn't breathing, and immediately threw him over her shoulder, making a break for the nearest window, and rushing out, landing neatly on the ground, even though it was from a second story, thankful she had long sturdy legs for the job.

"Please kid, breathe for me," her voice was mixed with fear and anger as she gave him mouth to mouth, and pumped on his chest. "No, no, NO! Don't you die on me!" She yelled out, attracting some attention, but she didn't care right now, only in saving this little boy. Eventually, it became clear to her that he wasn't going to wake up. NO! She thought, as she sat there and cried for him, for the life she had taken.

Where had she gone so wrong? Her intel had told her it was just her target and the guards. There were no reports of kids, and she had asked specifically about them. And Adam himself had told her, there were no kids. Was his intel wrong? Daisy only knew one thing, and that was she had to get out of there, before she was caught. But she wouldn't just leave the child. She laid him on his back, placing his hands over his chest, in a dignified pose. She also took off her White Fang mask, smashing it on the ground, into as many pieces as she could. Pieces she arranged into the words "I'm sorry," as she made a break for it, retreating far, far away.

During her retreat, she got a call on her Scroll. "Is it done?" She heard Adam Taurus ask on the other end.

"His son was in that house. DID YOU KNOW THAT? And now that kid is DEAD of smoke!" She yelled into the microphone.

"Irrelevant. Your mission was a success," Adam droned on.

"IRRELEVANT!? HOW IS A CHILD'S DEATH IRRELEVANT?!" She yelled back.

"Faunus freedom is worth any price," Adam continued, "report back AS—"

She slammed her Scroll onto the ground before he could finish, stomping on it with her heel to crack it. That was all the proof she needed. It wasn't the intel that was bad, or rather, maybe it was. It was Adam Taurus. It was the entire White Fang. Ever since they stopped playing nice with humans, they were slowly becoming more and more monstrous. Violence may have solved an issue, but...were they turning into the monsters that humans said they were? Daisy certainly felt so now, even throwing up at the thought. Barbaric Bunny, once a title she took to heart, relished when the news called her that, now...she felt like she had delved into TRUE barbarism. A child was dead, at her hand. A stain that would never come clean.

She ran, she didn't care where, only that it was away, away from everything she knew, or rather, thought she knew. And that's what she did, was hide away in dark places, scavenge for food, and hid herself from humanity, unable to shake the event from her mind. The news had reported on the child's death, as well as the executive's. The latter's corpse had the telltale signs of her presence, meaning everyone knew it was her. But the child's death meant all wanted her head, and there were days when she was half-tempted to let them have it. But there was some light sympathy for her, when the news got out about her smashed mask apology, evidence enough that the child's death was an accident, and that she had renounced the White Fang as a result.

But it was one day, half a year after the incident, that had ended up proving the most positive change since then. She was scouting out a place to hide, when a bullet rushed by her head. She dodged for cover, but in a flash, she saw a girl in front of her as if from nowhere, black hair hiding one eye, the other purple eye glaring at her, even as the weapon she was holding turned from a sniper rifle into a katana, already midswing at her. Daisy blocked it with the blades of Assassin's Bite, as she defended herself.

"You're a killer, Barbaric Bunny," the girl said as she slashed at her, and Daisy noticed old burn scars along the girl's left side, and instantly had a momentary flashback to the incident, which gave the girl an opening, but Daisy recovered to push her back.

"Tell me something I don't know," Daisy responded as she defended herself, but she could see in the girl's one visible eye, hesitation. She too, had a conscience, and didn't want to hurt people if she could help it.

"A child is dead, Bunny," the girl continued, which proved too much for Daisy, as the memories came rushing back towards her. The memories that had made her sick to her stomach in the past, now returned with a vengeance, and so did her lunch that day, which she violently puked up, some of it even coating the mysterious girl, and Daisy just doubled over, retracting her blades, and sobbed.

"Then do it then," she said weakly, the strength to defend her fully leaving her body, as she closed her eyes, waiting for the end. But it never came. Instead, a hand was extended in front of her face, tanned and slim, with the back of the hand covered in old burns.

"No," the girl said, wiping off some of Daisy's puke. "I can kill a monster. But a monster...wouldn't lose her lunch at a half-year old memory. A monster wouldn't offer her life," the girl continued as Daisy took the offered hand, and she helped Daisy to her feet. "But a person would. Here...I hope that was ALL you had, otherwise, you might lose more," the girl said, and before Daisy could ask what she meant, she suddenly felt squeezed, like her entire body was being forced through a straw. Before she could even get angry at what was happening, the sensation was over, and as she looked around, realized they were inside the building she was near, near a sink that the new girl started washing off puke into, and afterwards, Daisy did the same.

"Th-thank you," Daisy said once clean, mixed emotions all over her face.

"Bunny, you're not the only one here with...a past," the girl said, as she pulled her bangs back, showing the full extent of the burns running down the left side of her face, disappearing into her shirt. "Not the only one...who has hurt innocents without meaning to."

"What...happened?" Daisy asked, as she gently touched the girl's burns, and the new girl seemed to relax, at least just a touch.

"Long story, but my parents..." She said, pulling away, and Daisy didn't press the issue.

"I'm sorry," Daisy responded, giving her would-be killer a hug, which the girl accepted, offering a loose hug of her own.

"Hey, I hope you don't feel anything behind me," the girl said, and before Daisy could ask in the hug, she felt one part of the girl's back that didn't feel like human skin.

"You're...a faunus too?" She asked questioningly, though she couldn't tell what type.

"Tell. No. One." The girl said coldly. "I don't want to have to silence you, Bunny."

"Ok, look, you don't have to call me that. My name is Daisy. Daisy Banela," she said quietly, not wanting to break the hug, having missed company and acceptance for so long.

"Nixera. Nixera Ebon," the girl responded. And from that day forward, they stuck together, traveling together, and even fighting the White Fang together as well. They quickly grew closer as well, and a few months after their first meet, kissed under a tree one night. Many months more, they spent their first night together, fully exploring each other's bodies. It was about 2 years after that they first ran into Marion Fiye, and the pair had fought the girl they called the Red Witch off and on, especially wanting to settle in her father's old weapons workshop. And it was 4 years after meeting up for the first time they saw on the news about the White Fang's robbery of a Dust store, and how a girl in a red cloak with a large scythe intervened.
