I do not own any of this. Paranorman belongs to Laika and Sonic The Hedgehog belongs to Sega.
By the next morning, most of the town's power had been restored; however, not all areas, such as those in the southern or eastern parts of town, still lacked electricity, forcing residents to rely on candles or emergency generators to keep the lights and other electronics running until the power company fully restored the power to the rest of the town.
The people living or working in these areas of town weren't pleased with this for one bit, as it made their daily tasks more challenging, such as dishwashing and laundry. However, they understood that they had to endure it, since this wasn't the first time the town experienced a power outage. They just needed to play the waiting game until it eventually came back on, which hopefully would happen soon.
So while everyone went about their day, utility trucks were seen in the neighborhood with workers attending to the power poles throughout the affected areas. The largest area where the utility workers were working at was the park, which appeared to have been hit the hardest as evidenced by the blown out light bulbs near the baseball field and the various light posts scattered throughout the park. If they didn't know any better, it seemed that whatever caused the power outage had originated from this location.
Overlooking the work in the park are Sheriff Hooper and her trusty deputy, Dwayne. They both stand near the entrance of the park, with Dwayne writing notes down on his notepad, while Sheriff Hooper looks around uninterested, occasionally sipping from a large soda cup she had gotten from Witchy Wieners. She would rather be anywhere else than watching these workers replace all those bulbs and fiddle with those wires she could never figure out.
"Quite the power outage we had. Wasn't it, Sheriff?" Dwayne spoke up.
"This is nothing," she replied. "Back in the storm of 2002, we had a power outage that lasted for a week because the storm knocked down the power poles." Taking another sip of her drink, she removed her mouth from the straw and moved her head slightly to the left to watch another worker.
Dwayne was about to say something else when the sound of a truck approaching caught their attention. They turned around and saw a large semi-truck with a red robot eye on the front of the hood rolling in.
Stopping in front of them, a robotic hum escaped from the truck as a ramp dropped down from the side; steps then popped up from the ramp, where then a man with a mustache stepped out of the truck.
A black SUV pulls up and parks close behind the truck. A black suit wearing, bearded man shortly steps out of the vehicle. He quickly approaches the mustached man, who is currently surveying the park with a very critical eye. "Is this where it originated from, doctor?"
"Yes. My computers have all traced the energy source to this damp little park." Moving his fingers across his left glove, Robotnik sets a series of codes that activates his EggDrones.
Two hatches opened on the top of the truck, releasing several of his drones. "Hey buddy," Sheriff Hooper spoke up. "The park's closed for today."
Turning to her slightly, Robotnik raised his hand in dismissal. "This is official government business. We have every right to investigate the area."
"Not without the proper paperwork." Hooper retorted, not liking that hand gesture he had given her at all. It was just so rude and patronizing.
Robotnik rolled his eyes at this annoyance. Leave it to the small-towners to not fully grasp the situation at hand. "Let me tell you something. You may think that this is just a simple power outage, and everything will be hunky dory! Of course, your small brain can't fully understand the details of this event."
"Oh. You did not just say I have a small brain! I can arrest you so fast that the moment you blink, you'll find yourself in a jail cell." Hooper snarled as she grabbed hold of her baton and whacked it against her hand all the while Robotnik is very slightly amused.
"Look, the dog can bark. If you think that scares me, you are very mistaken. I've seen things that'll make your tiny, small-town mind blow up like a bag of popcorn. When things get serious, I am the one they call in to bring down the hammer. In fact, my sheer brilliance surpasses everything you could ever do; I've done things you could only dream of doing, and I even took care of countries no one has ever heard of."
Leaning in a bit closer to her, Robotnik could very well tell she was a bit intimidated by the way she took a step back from him and how she had completely forgotten about the baton in her hands. "If you don't want me to unleash my machines on you or even more fun; pull up your file to find out every single detail of you, including anything undesirable you might want to keep secret from everyone. I highly suggest that you stay out of my way and let me do my work."
The stare down he gave her is enough to make Hooper completely back down. "Do as you will then sir."
"Good girl." Without any other word to the local sheriff, Robotnik proudly turned back to face his awaiting drones. There are about fourteen out as they all floated in separate lines for their awaiting orders.
"Ah! My babies. All ready to work without any complaints or any other weak human emotions." Without even looking, Robotnik types in another set of codes on his glove. "A simple search in and around the area should do."
Without any delay, the EggDrones went off on their tasks, leaving Robotnik to head back into his lab while Agent Stone pulled out a device to keep track of the lab maintenance. Sheriff Hooper and Deputy Dwayne stood nearby, unsure of what to make of this guy. Just why did Blithe Hallow have to attract the weirdos?
Flying slowly above the park with an ominous hum, the EggDrones slowly scan throughout the area for anything of interest.
One of the drones floated close to the back wall of the park, scanning from side to side until its scan went over two sets of footprints in a dried-up mud patch. Immediately, it focused in on the footprints and sent its findings to Robotnik's computer.
Studying the footprints carefully, Robotnik didn't even acknowledge Agent Stone coming into the lab. Looking at the screen, he stepped up behind his chair with a bit of a nod. "Some kid went through the mud."
"Of course that's what an uneducated eye would see. Your eyes aren't expertly trained to spot tracks by the Native American Shadow Wolves." Pressing several commands on his keyboard, the image on the screen zooms in and enhances to reveal that the footprint underneath the shoe is very unusual.
"That's extraordinary." Stone remarked in amazement.
"No." Swirling around to face Stone, Robotnik let up a smile. "What's extraordinary is I've determined the exact height, weight, and spinal curvature of this creature, and my computer can't find a single match for it anywhere in Earth's animal kingdom. This blackout was not any kind of fluke or incoming attack, and that's not from a human."
Turning back to the image, Robotnik leaned in closer to it with even greater interest since a living thing was the cause of this blackout. "This thing is something else and I will use its power to suit my needs."
Diverting his attention to his keyboard, Robotnik sends in commands for his EggDrones to search nearby areas. It'll be only a matter of time until they find this thing, and when they do, he will be on it like a bear to honey or way more precisely a lion to weak prey.
Spreading out into nearby streets and the woods, the EggDrones searched carefully for the creature, unaware that he was anxiously watching them from atop a building.
After being forcibly kicked out of his cave by that ghost, Sonic had no other choice but to camp out on this building in order to collect his thoughts. First he lost his rings, now these drones are after him. No doubt once they find him, they'll capture him and bring him to their maker, where then they'll dissect him in order to take his power.
This is extremely bad. Without his rings, he can't get out of here. There's only one thing he can do at this point - he has to find a place to hide, and luckily for him, he knows just the place.
Speeding away, Sonic fails to notice a drone raising up to the rooftops behind him. Slightly tracking his movements until he was quickly out of its sight. Beeping in acknowledgment, the EggDrone transmits all possible locations the blue blur is heading to in the direction its running towards.
Today has certainly been an unexpected pleasure for Norman. Thanks to that unexpected power outage last night and the fact that the school is located in the eastern part of town, right along with a faulty generator they never bothered to replace, school has been canceled for today.
Sure, this unexpected day off will have to be made up later, but as for right now Norman is very comfortably rearranging his zombie figurines on his bookshelf. Having a day without facing bullies or the disapproving looks from the townspeople is just what Norman needed. What's even better is that since he is old enough to be home alone in the house, it means that both of his parents can leave for work without worrying about him getting into any trouble.
Of course he wasn't actually home alone for besides his grandmother who would occasionally come in to check up on him. Courtney's school was also affected by the power outage, which meant that she was home as well, but luckily for him she was currently relaxing outside talking on her phone, so he didn't have to worry about annoying her. There's also the bonus that with her outside the TV was free, meaning he can head downstairs later on and watch one of his favorite movies.
"Enjoying your time off, Norman?"
"Sure am, grandma." Turning to face her, she floated just above his bed. "That sure was an unexpected blackout, wasn't it, grandma?"
"You said it kiddo. I nearly dropped my knitting from how sudden it was. Your father, however, had a worse time; you could hear him cussing like a sailor all the way down in the living room. Honestly, you should have seen the amount of soap in his hair—it looked like he had dandruff." Shaking her head over the image she saw yesterday, of him walking into the living room grumbling with that hair and the red eyes that formed after the shampoo got in them. Honestly, if they had a trusty bucket full of water nearby, then he could have dumped it on himself to wash out all that shampoo.
As he was about to reply to that, Norman was suddenly interrupted by a loud bump from downstairs. Looking toward the door, he let out a shrug. "Sounds like Courtney just came back in."
Grandma Babcock meanwhile glances out the window, going a bit stiff due to what she's currently seeing. "Um kiddo. Your sister is still outside."
Upon hearing this, Norman now went stiff. If Courtney was still outside, then who made that noise? Taking a deep breath, Norman very slowly walked to the other side of his room and retrieved a baseball bat from his closet. Now armed with something to defend himself with against a possible intruder, Norman then crept very slowly towards his bedroom door.
Right behind him, his grandmother looked on with worry. "Be careful, Norman. Don't do anything foolish."
Sneaking in through an unlocked window and now stood right in the middle of the Babcocks' living room. Sonic winced slightly after accidentally bumping into a small desk next to the chair; he really hoped that no one had heard that as he took a step further through the room.
He felt extremely bad about breaking into Ghost Boy's house, but this situation was very desperate. He would just hide out here for a couple hours and when the opportunity finally presented itself, he would dash out of town in a flash and then try to find his rings, which they should be right on top of that building; gorillas like to climb onto.
Now he knew that everything is going to be fine as Ghost Boy is currently out at school at this moment, so there is no worries of him being in the house or the rest of his family for that matter as Sonic also knew that they were out to. Maybe he'll have a short rest on the couch for the time being before taking off for he really needed to clear his head due to the recent events he's been experiencing as of lately.
He turned around to face the couch just as Norman, with the raised bat in his hand, jumped into the living room. Everything went still and silent right at that moment as the two stared at each other with wide eyes and hanging open mouths.
Eventually, Sonic broke the silence by slowly raising his hand. "Uh... hi."
Letting out a frightened shout, Norman fell onto the floor and immediately backed away from whatever this blue, furry thing that was standing in his living room. It certainly wasn't a ghost or anything he had ever seen on Earth before; was it some type of mutant or alien? If it was an alien, Norman had seen some alien movies to know that it would abduct him, where they would then probe him before unleashing the fleet to invade the planet. His baseball bat was very much forgotten as he crawled himself right up against the wall.
"Please don't do anything to me! I know nothing about Earth's leaders!"
"Whoa! Chill there, Ghost Boy. I mean you no harm. Consider me a friendly alien." Sonic reassured.
Getting slightly less afraid, Norman lowered his guard down a bit as he sat up slightly. "You, you can talk?"
"Crazy right? An intergalactic creature from a totally different planet just so happens to speak the same language as your planet. It sure is a crazy coincidence am I right Ghost Boy." As he spoke, the alien creature scratches his left ear.
"Why are you calling me 'Ghost Boy'?"
"Cause you talk to ghosts. I figured that's the perfect name for you." He replied with a playful shrug.
"Um, I guess. So does this mean you're not going to probe me or anything?"
Sonic cringed at the mere thought. "Way too awkward, bro. I should be more worried though, because I'm the one who's going to get probed once they find me."
"Who?"
"By the maker of those Egg-shaped robots flying all around town."
Norman looked at him confused, Egg-shaped robots? He didn't hear anything about that. It was just then Norman had realized something that this alien had said to him earlier. "Wait a minute? You know I can speak with the dead?"
"Of course. I seen you do it all the time."
"Have you been stalking me?" He uncertainty asked. It was nice that he wasn't dismissing him or thinking he was crazy unlike everyone else in this town. But it was a bit uncomfortable to know that this alien had been watching him for who knows how long.
"I wouldn't call it stalking exactly." Sonic dismissed with a series of hand gestures. "I would more call it; watching you without you even knowing that I even exist."
"That's literally stalking." Norman pointed out. He still couldn't wrap his head around what was happening to him right now. He was supposed to be enjoying his unexpected day off from school today, not having a conversation with an alien.
"Perhaps we should change the subject before this gets any more awkward. Look, I need a place to hide out for the moment, and you're the only one I could think of?"
"Why?" Seriously, why is he interesting to an alien? He's just a lonely kid with hair that always sticks up straight with an obsession with zombie movies.
"Because out of everyone in this town, you're my favorite person and I can trust you." Sonic honestly replied, surprising Norman even more. He was his favorite and he trusted him the most? It actually made Norman a little touched; no living thing had ever said that to him before.
He was about to say something else when, right then, the sound of the back door closing caught his and Sonic's attention. "Hey! What's with the screaming dweeb?"
Stepping into the living room, Courtney caught sight of the blue alien standing there and immediately let out her very own scream while completely flinching away. "Oh my gosh! What the heck is that thing? Some kind of giant rat?"
"I'm a hedgehog; I think that's very obvious."
"You can't be a hedgehog! Hedgehogs are small and adorable, not large, bipedal, blue, or wearing gloves and shoes!" Courtney stopped talking as she then realized something. "Oh my gosh. I'm totally talking to it." Her life now has just officially gotten weird.
It was just at this moment there came a rumbling from outside. "Oh, what now?" Courtney asked, storming to the window and pulling aside the curtains. She right along with Norman and Sonic saw a weird-looking truck pull up in front of the house.
"What am I seeing exactly?" It was the strangest truck Courtney has ever seen in her life. She didn't have the chance to observe it for very long because the blue hedgehog then let's out a yelp before yanking the curtains back into place.
"Oh no! They found me!"
"Who found you?" Norman asked.
"The maker of those robots, I was telling you about." Quickly Sonic looked frantically around for any place he could hide behind, while both Courtney and Norman are very much confused on what's going on.
"Can someone please tell me what the heck is going on?" Courtney exclaimed as she rubbed her head as she swears a headache is developing.
"Short Story: Your government is coming for me. Can you please help me hide?" Looking over to the couch, Sonic wondered if it might make a good hiding place.
"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! What do you mean 'we'? We definitely don't have anything to do with you, especially not me." She can't get caught up in some government investigation. If word gets out, it'll be very embarrassing!
Suddenly, the blue hedgehog got down in front of her, right on his knees, with his hands clasped together. "Please! You gotta help me!" His eyes formed into complete desperation, and despite how hard she tried, Courtney found herself being drawn into those pleading eyes. Must be because they were almost puppy-like.
"Ugh fine!" Turning her attention to her younger brother, Courtney places her hands right on her hips. "Norman, go find this guy a place to hide. I'll go deal whoever's driving that weird truck."
"Be careful Courtney." Norman warned. "This guy might be crazy like some of the mad scientists I've seen in the movies."
"Whatever." Courtney dismissed before moving off towards the front door. Meanwhile, Norman grabbed the hedgehog's hand and began to pull him towards the kitchen. "Come on. Maybe we can hide you in the basement."
"Thanks Ghost Boy. Really, your saving my skin here."
"My name's Norman actually." He corrected. Although Norman thought it was a rather neat nickname, he much preferred the alien hedgehog to call him by his real name.
"Cool. My name is Sonic by the way." The alien replied as Norman opened up the basement door for him.
"Sonic" Norman repeated for the name is rather catchy. But he couldn't think of this right now, not when the dissecting government agent is right outside his house. "Quick head on down there and stay quiet. I'll tell you when its safe to come out."
Winking at Norman, Sonic gave him a thumbs up. "You got it, Ghost Boy." Without another moment, Sonic quickly walked on down into the basement.
He reached the bottom step, right when Norman shut the door, causing him to look up at it a bit nervously. "Chill Sonic. Everything is going to be just fine. Just stay quiet."
Walking to the middle of the basement, Sonic made sure to stay well away from the only window that peeked down into it.
Utilizing his built-in scanner in his glove, Robotnik uses it to scan a series of footprints near the living room window. Analysis reveals that the footprints exactly matched with those found at the park earlier, deducing that the creature is indeed within the house. He as an important, renowned scientist, has every right to enter into this dump for scientific purposes.
Robotnik opened the window effortlessly, but was stopped just as he was about to climb in by a voice belonging to a teenage girl. "Hey! What do you think you're doing?"
Very quickly, Robotnik backs away from the window, then whirls around to face a girl wearing a pink sports outfit and a ponytail, who is leaning against the house with her arms crossed and narrowed eyes as she studies him. This should be a breeze for his genius mind can easily outthink a teenager.
Recovering his composure in a professional manner, Robotnik slowly approached her. "Hello there. I'm from the power company; I'm here because of the power outage."
She gave him a blank look as she inspected him more closely from head to toe. "The power company, huh?"
"Yes. I rebooted the power to most of the houses in this forgetful town, and yours is next. If you are to be so kind as to let me in your home, I can get everything working again in a jiffy." Keeping up a fake smile, Robotnik stood in place as the teenager clearly didn't give a dam judging by the attitude she's giving.
"Don't guys from the power companies have those ugly orange vests on you?" She pointed out. Who does this weirdo take her for exactly? She was clearly way too smart to fall for something like that.
"I'm a special case." Robotnik lied through his teeth, while placing his hands behind his back and secretly activated his much smaller drones with ball-like bodies and two helicopter-like blades on the sides.
About six drones exited out of the truck and flew around the house, entering through multiple openings from the chimney to open windows. All the while Courtney was completely clueless to the drone break-in. "You know you don't have to worry. Our power is completely fine, so there's no need for you to enter my house."
"Can't be too sure can't we? It might only be temporary."
"Also, I know for a fact that the power company is supposed to check outside the house, not inside it. So, if you're done treating me like a little kid, I suggest you get your butt out of here before I call the cops." With a wave gesture for him to get going, Courtney had just about enough of this creep.
He doesn't leave; instead, since his cover is blown he might as well get down to business. "Okay look. I'll explain it to you in a very simple way a cheerleader, who thinks she's on top of the world, until the harsh realities of the real world causes you to live out your pathetic life in a single, cockroach infested apartment. Always thinking about your glory days in high school, knowing that you'll never be the popular girl again. Would understand."
Very much offended by the unexpected harsh speech, Courtney stepped back a bit with a gasp. "Hey!"
Robotnik however quickly zips her into silence with one raised finger. "This power outage was caused by one creature. A creature with power you could never understand. I have enough evidence to know that this creature is inside your house."
"Please," Courtney remarked, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "A creature with enough power to knock out the entire town's power. You're obviously insane, and FYI, your mustache is so out of date. The Civil War wants it back." Glaring at him now, Courtney allowed herself to let up a small smirk in satisfaction; she had gotten the last word in, and it would teach him not to diss her like that.
As for him. He angrily glares right back for no one disrespects his glorious mustache. "Look here you stupid homo sapien."
Stepping up mere inches from her, he firmly looked her in the eyes. "I know it's here. Don't you play dumb with me for if you don't want to be considered a traitor to the United States, I highly suggest you let me search the premises."
Holding in a laugh, Courtney smugly looked back at him. "I'm pretty sure, I would know if there was a creature in my house."
"Trying to fool me? Big mistake, no one has ever outsmarted the great Doctor Robotnik. And you better hope I don't catch you with this creature, because if I do...you'll suffer so much, you'll be wishing for death." Clenching his fists, Robotnik's left eye twitched as Courtney took another step back from him, feeling very uncomfortable with this crazy guy.
"You don't have many friends do you?"
The Helico-Drone slowly hovered down into the basement, scanning around every corner for anything of interest. So far it has only picked up on: old Christmas and Halloween decorations in boxes, stacks of books on an old coffee table, the washer and dryer, and various other items the Babcocks have stored down there over the years.
Hiding between two stacks of boxes, Sonic did his best to keep quiet as the red laser beam appeared in front of him and then moved across the boxes to his right. Stepping back farther into the darkness, he backed up against the wall, becoming increasingly nervous as the buzzing of the drone grew more louder; it was only a matter of time before it scanned between these boxes.
The hum grew louder, getting way too close for Sonic's liking. It wasn't until he finally caught sight of the drone that Sonic sped off past it, causing the drone to spin out of control due to his speed. Racing up the stairs and into the kitchen, Norman, (who had been waiting for Courtney to give the word that the coast is clear) jumped in surprise as Sonic bursts out from the basement and crashed against the table.
The bang catches Robotnik's and Courtney's immediate attention as they both look back into the house. Fearing that she may have gotten caught with hiding the wanted creature, Courtney is quick to come up with the perfect lie. "Oh. That must be my brother. He can just be so clumsy. I'm sure you know how much of a pain little siblings can be."
"Way to rub it in my orphan face. But you're probably right." Before Courtney could even react, Robotnik shoved his way past her and raced into the house.
"Hey!" Courtney shouted as she chased him right into the kitchen, where Norman was standing innocently in the middle of it, with his hands behind his back and a small smile on his face. Slowly raising his right hand, Norman waved to them. Robotnik, meanwhile, moved his head around to try and spot anything suspicious.
Unknown to him, Sonic hid underneath the sink. Peeking out from the small gap of the cabinet.
Unable to see anything out of the ordinary in this kitchen, Robotnik angrily raises his finger to his chin level for they couldn't fool him that easily. "Don't think you can pull the whool over my eyes. I am never wrong."
"Well, you're wrong this time." Brushing past him, Courtney got herself between him and Norman, tapping her foot in frustration. After all, who just runs into someone else's house like that? "Now get the hell out of my house!"
Gritting his teeth, Robotnik turned to leave for perhaps one of his Helico-Drones have found something, he could not. However, something on the floor right near the fridge had caught his full attention. From behind him, both Norman and Courtney could feel their bodies tense up as he leaned down and picked up a blue quill. Turning back around to face them, Robotnik smugly held out a blue quill to them. "Look at that. I was right. Shall we try this again?"
Whistling a tune from an opera song, Robotnik stepped aside as an EggDrone slowly hovered up to the doctor's side. Both siblings looked up at the machine, completely stunned while slowly being filled up with fear for it was the most advanced machine they had ever seen.
"I'll ask again. Where is the creature? It's best that you answer me in approximately five seconds." He advised with a sadistic smile.
"What if we don't?" Courtney asked a bit hesitantly for this has really turned to a complete one hundred very fast.
"Simple. You won't be existing any much longer." Snapping his fingers, the Egg-Drone popped out two mini-guns on both sides of it.
"Wait. You can't be serious, can't you?" Norman spoke up after taking a uneasy step back from the armed drone.
"5"
"4"
"3"
"Hey you can't do this! This is totally illegal!" Courtney protested.
"2"
Courtney went on complete instinct and pulled Norman behind her, completely surprising him as he never thought his sister would protect him like this, especially from something so deadly where she would take most of the gunfire. Robotnik's smile grew even wider, the fear on the monkey's faces were always amusing before their worthless lives were taken away.
"1"
Suddenly zooming out of the cabinet, Sonic protectively gets in front of the two siblings with his arms stretched out wide. "Wait! Don't hurt them!"
Upon finally seeing the creature, Robotnik could only do one thing; he let out a freaked-out scream which distracted him long enough for Courtney to grab hold of a wooden chair and throw it right at him, which knocked the creep back against the wall with his head hitting it hard. Falling onto his side, a painful groan escaped him as he lays there motionless.
Beeping in aggression from the immediate threat the doctor is in. The EggDrone turns to the three in attack mode in a matter of seconds.
"Uh oh," Norman muttered before Courtney grabbed his and Sonic's hands and dove under the table just as the EggDrone fired its payload. The bullets struck the walls, the floor, and the window in a relentless barrage of bullets, forcing Norman and Courtney to hold onto their heads, hoping in vain that they wouldn't be hit by any of those speeding bullets.
"Who needs this many bullets!" Courtney shouted through the sounds of gunfire for this was rather too much.
"Sonic! Are you doing alright?" Turning to his left, Norman immediately noticed that he wasn't there. Stunned, Norman looked around until he finally spotted him on top of the fridge, giving them both a thumbs up with a "I got this," smile.
Jumping atop the unsuspecting EggDrone, the robot spun and thrashed about violently as Sonic clung onto it like a mechanical bull. It then flipped itself upside down, which finally dislodged Sonic. Quickly turning to face him, Sonic was quick enough to run around it, creating a blue tornado in his wake. The EggDrone struggled to regain control, but it was no match for the winds as it eventually spun around in circles. After a moment, Sonic emerged from the self-made vortex, grabbed a pan from the stove, and ran back then struck the EggDrone with it just as it finally turned to face him.
Sparks flew out from the smashed eye as it fell to the floor like the piece of trash it was. "Whoooo! You guys saw that! I smacked this hunk of junk into next week!" Sonic celebrated in a rockstar pose.
Crawling themselves out from beneath the table, Courtney was quick to address the situation they are still in. "Hey, Blue Boy!" she exclaimed. "You can celebrate later. Somewhere far away from Doctor Psycho over there." She pointed out behind him.
Looking back at the doctor, Sonic saw that he was just beginning to stir from his unconscious state. "Right. Good plan, sister of Ghost Boy."
Dashing out through the back door, the three had just managed to escape through their backyard just as Agent Stone came rushing into the house. Upon seeing the doctor slowly getting himself up onto his knees, he quickly went up to him and helped him up from the floor.
Robotnik instantly pulled his arm out of Stone's hands, and cast his gaze towards the open back door.
"Doctor. Are you alright? I heard some commotion in here, so I thought that-"
"That you should stop them." Robotnik snapped as he slowly turned to face him.
"To see if you were okay?" He finished.
Shaking his head in disbelief, Robotnik took one step closer to Stone, making sure to look him right in the eyes. "You know what's the hardest part of being the smartest person on Earth?"
"Everyone's an idiot." Stone answered automatically for he has heard this so many times before.
"Everyone's an idiot!" The doctor confirmed. "Good you got that one right." Now looking back to the door, Robotnik took an excited step forward as he excitedly thought about using this thing's power. "Whatever this creature is, it's our job to secure it, neutralize it, uncover the source of its power. And if it resists… we take it apart... piece by piece. See what makes it tick."
There was no time to waste, he needed to get his hands on that creature as soon as possible, but not before collecting something or more rather get someone else to grab it. "Stone. Collect that quill, we may need it."
"Yes doctor."
Without even waiting for Stone, Robotnik heads on back to his lab in order to pin point every known exit out of this town. The capture of that creature is a very top priority, right along with teaching those two brats a very painful lesson on defying him of his prize.
Shortly after they both left the house, Grandma Babcock came into the kitchen to inspect the mess. Shaking her head, she knew that Perry was going to blow a fuse once he saw this. Especially with that hunk of junk scattered all over the floor.
