The Slayer had just finished modding Anesidora, when he heard Penny come in. "Fabalsta!" She said excitedly, which made him turn around with speed.

"Dia bogla mork cry Argenta?" He asked back, surprised Penny was suddenly fluent in the language of the Argenta.

"Operk cit endim miryks pirpact Doom," she answers, then follows with "Essipie andra'cha Maykr aguunmag."

"OK, so you know both languages, of Argenta and Maykrs," the Slayer says, switching back to English. "And why would you learn them?"

"Well Mr. Slayer, I figured the source code of this base was written in those," she responds, relief clear in her face at switching back to English. "And therefore, the first step to getting to know it better? Learning its mother tongues. That would not have been easy if I was organic, I can tell you that much," she admits, sitting down next to him. "Once that happened though, reading source code was easy. I even looked at the schematics. After all, there's a major flaw. Mostly with the portal generator sir. One end is always here. I thought up a way to fix that, allow site-to-site portals. Though they have to be local on both ends," she explains as she taps the screen uploading the holographic improvements. "No dimensional travel with this setup."

The Slayer looks through Penny's proposed improvement to the portal generator, then uploading the design for experimentation. "This is...GOOD. Brilliant! I'll have to verify this, but these improvements...wow. This actually gives an idea of my own. Hop onto the scanner," he orders. "If this goes well..." he adds as Penny does so, giving him a puzzling look as it scans her.

"What are you hoping for sir," she adds, hopping back down once the scan is done.

"This place has NOT been running at its best for a long time. And with initiative like yours...I could use someone like you," he explains, as he runs tests alongside the ones already running. "So, thanks to your construction...you actually have a soul?" He asks surprised.

"Yes sir. My father, Pietro, used some of his Aura to make mine," she explains, bouncing a little in her seat. "I don't know how he gave me a soul though. I also do not believe I am based on anyone. He never had a biogical daughter, and even if he did...well, there's no way I would have been based on her, as he and I look nothing alike." She turns to the series of experiments running off of her scan, many resulting in failures. "What's failing?" she asks.

"Well Penny, good question. The idea was simple. Make a copy of you, upload it to the FOD, and have copy you act as my AI," he explains. "But, details of your construction prevent this. Damn shame. Although...what about you, directly?" He asks, mostly to himself as he runs more experiments. "OK, these show promise. But limited promise for some reason. And these others...show more promise. BUT, I have to give you some things. And by things, I mean drivers," he explains as he opens a new window, gets to work, but then has an idea. "Actually Penny? Here's an impromptu test. Let's see if YOU can code up your own driver. Just a basic one for now. Enough for system access, as well as cameras, both interior and exterior. I'll get you started, make sure the framework is there. You get to do the rest."

"OK!" She says excitedly. Slayer did some rapid typing. Or rather, that's how it looked on screen. What he really did was just stare at it.

"Neural typing. Quite useful for rapid typing, especially of code. Now you," he explains, setting up a few things. "There. What you have now, is more akin to networking to the FOD. And what you're about to do, is be installed to it. Totally different," he explains. "Here, try it."

He was about to push the monitor to face her, but before he could, she jumped into his lap. OK, I was NOT expecting that. But then, robot without much...human sense, is the best way to describe it. Penny tried a few words, then once she got a feel for it, got to work. He also noticed her eyes wandering all over his desktop. "Curious are you?"

"Well sir, I've never met an otherworlder before," she admits. "And with all you've seen, all you've done..." she shifts a bit on his lap as she glances around at his desktop. He could feel that for a robot, she certainly could pass as human, and not just visually. Whatever her ass was made of, it felt real enough to him. Keep it together.

"Well...I guess there's not too much harm," he tells her, mostly to distract himself as he opens a folder full of pictures. "These were all from my time on Argent D'Nur," he explains as he does a slideshow. "First, this is the planet," he explains the first picture. Penny's eyes grew, almost literally, upon seeing the World Spear. "That's the World Spear, which is actually a MASSIVE ship, full of the beings that the Argenta used to worship, the Wraiths. Might still due, since anyone with sense has given the finger to the Maykrs," he explains, showing more pictures from inside. "It's their most sacred location. Have to light a torch if you want passage. You don't go there lightly. The Earthling in me grumbles, as I know what our scientists would do if they could. It is the source of their strength, their magic, their culture. A single crystal from this ship can do wonderous things."

Penny stared in awe at the pictures, zooming in at a few spots. The Slayer gave a ghost of a smile, as he continued with more pictures. "And these are some of the people I knew," he says as he shows battle shots of him with his former Night Sentinel brothers. As well as a few pictures of them drunk and recounting their battle stories, as well as participating in various games, both Argenta and Earth. "I taught them how to play poker, and they took to that well. Arm wrestling spread in a blink and you miss it moment," he adds with a laugh. He showed more shots of them regular wrestling, sparring, training, and much more.

"Who's this guy?" Penny asks, pointing to a large, balding man.

The Slayer sighs as he pulls up more pictures of him. "Commander Valen. Back in the day, he oversaw my training, when I first came to them. And was a loyal friend, at one point. But he is proof. Proof that as tough as the Argenta are, they're still human inside. Valen's son died, and he made a deal with the traitorous Order of Deag: He'd give them access to the Wraiths, they would resurrect his son. Which they DID, but his soul became the latest power source for Hell's largest demon, and one of their most powerful," he explains somberly, as he pulls up the pictures.

Penny gasped as she saw the skyscraper sized demon, larger than any Grimm she had ever seen, or even heard about. "The Icon of Sin. But the damage was done. He had betrayed us, and was known in all the literature afterwards as the Betrayer."

"Forgive me for saying so sir," Penny comments, turning to face him. "But my analysis of your voice tells me you don't hate him. Or at least not as much as someone in your position should."

"Picked up on that did you?" He gives a small huff. "Well, first off? Love makes us ALL do some crazy shit. And second? He DID redeem himself." He pulled up more pictures, showing Valen tossing him the knife to stab his son's heart. The ghostly projection of him, giving the Slayer his hammer, the Hellbreaker. And then finally, the Battle of Immora. She couldn't stop squirming, as she saw Valen lead Night Sentinel troops, many with weapons or vehicles she had never seen or thought possible, including a giant mech with two impossibly large guns on its shoulders. Correction, MULTIPLE of said mechs.

"Come brothers! Let Hell tremble before our might!" Commander Valen said in the video, as she watched the troops pour out of portals, ready to assault the giant red city, and the legions of demons, both large and small, protecting it.

"I will admit, I don't know what happened to him. If he lived or not," the Slayer tells her. "But let's move on. Actually, let me show you the Torch of Kings." He then shows more shots of him lighting it, explaining that it shows he seeks passage to the World Spear. All of which marveled Penny, especially since the handheld torch lit with blue fire from seemingly nowhere. But she gasped upon seeing how he covered "a day's walk" as the video said, much faster. She couldn't believe her eyes as she saw a dragon fly down, with the Slayer's own mark upon its head, branded or natural she couldn't tell. Complete with saddle, one the Slayer mounted, and then rode to the World Spear, or at least most of the way.

"Not just an ordinary dragon. A special breed called a Wintherin. And if I recall? Mine is actually from the Lineage of Kings, Wintherins specially bred for the Argentan kings. Loyal beasts, fearsome in battle as well. Their fire burns blue, able almost instantly melt metals with low melting points, easily soften those metals that need a bit more heat, and for some of the toughest metals around? Even they can soften in the beast's fire. So much so that royal blacksmiths have sometimes used their fire," the Slayer tells Penny with a long explanation.

"I have to ask...how does it see?" Penny asks, pointing out that the Wintherin had no apparent eyes, only his mark where eyes would be.

"That's a good question. Maybe they don't. Maybe it's sonic based. Maybe it's ESP. I mean...planet's already full of anomenergies. How else did I light the Torch of Kings? If in doubt, chalk it up to anomenergy," the Slayer explains, Penny's eyebrows raising at the word "anomenergy," which the Slayer chuckled at.

"Ah, I know what you're going to ask. Well, first it's short for anomalous energy. What does that mean?" He shifts around in his chair, and Penny does so as well. "See, my adventures have shown me there is more than the standard, physical, world. More to existance than common matter, the EM spectrum, and the four fundamental forces. There exists strange energies, that violate natural laws, that draw from a wide array of sources. These I collectively refer to, as anomalous energy, or anomenergy."

"You talk like you're describing magic sir," Penny comments, looking him in the eyes.

"Well to a degree, I do. However, there are reasons I don't say magic. The first is that magic can be considered a dirty word to some. Ask the Earthlings, where I come from? The mention of magic has no place in science," he explains. "And let me guess...Aura, Semblances, aren't magic?" He asks. Penny shakes her head. "Thought so. Even those that DO use an anomalous energy, may not call it magic. And yes, to Earth? Both of the above would count as magic to the right people. Second reason why not to say magic? Because not all anomenergies count as 'magic.' A barrier made to stop magic may not stop a different anomenergy."

Penny nods as she puts the pieces together. "So, what you're saying is that Hell's Argent Energy counts as one. Argentan Wraith Energy is also an anomenergy," she suggests.

"You catch on quickly," the Slayer chuckles, when a beep sounds, which he checks. "Oh, you finished? Let's see how well you did," he adds as he checks her work. "Seems fine. But only one way to be sure." He adds as he uploads it. "And you'll have to get up, and follow me."

Penny did so excitedly, and the Slayer did as well, leading her to the port where Hayden's body was once suspended. "Hop up here," he tells her, and she does so, glancing at her arms as she starts to float. "And now, let's try it out," he says as he goes over to a console.

"What will it feel li—" Penny was about to ask, but she soon got her answer. All of a sudden, she couldn't feel her body anymore. While that was initially scary, she could feel her mind in the FOD's main system, and access to its quantum core. Suddenly, she felt as if secrets of reality, questions she hadn't even thought to ask, were at her fingertips. The most complex mathmatical formulae was as easy as if she had learned it in kindergarten. Even the calculations needed for the portal device's destination, calculations needed to make sure it didn't open into solid matter, correct altitude, and beyond, was but a trifling thought, not even requiring that much of her. And that was just for local portals. Tunneling through the interdimensional void was also something that she felt she could do in her sleep, if she actually needed it. She felt as if she could see into those dimensions, as easily as if her physical body was there.

Eventually she realized the Slayer was asking her something, and she came down from her "high," as it were, realizing she could sense everything in the FOD. Though checking the internal clock revealed that while she thought it had been a long time, it was only a few seconds. A few seconds that at her new speed, may as well have been forever.

"Oh yes, it's wonderful!" She told him over the speakers. It was confusing to not respond via a physical body, but looking through the systems gave an idea. She uploaded an image of herself to the holo projector, and after a few attempts, was able to project herself for him to talk to.

"Wow. Already learning your way around, aren't you?" He tells her, examining the hologram. "Those drivers are working well."

"Oh yes! I was able to see so much! The portal generator, the quantum computer, even the dimensional observatory, all easily accessible!" Penny says excitedly, her hologram jumping up and down. "I can—uh oh," she loses all excitement in an instant.

"What's wrong?" The Slayer asks, immediately running through system after system on the screen before him.

"I think I did something I shouldn't," Penny says sheepishly, pulling it up on the hologram. "I activated the 'DLB?' What does that do?" She asks with clear nervousness.

"Dimensional Locator Beacon," the Slayer answers her as he pulls it up. "Nothing harmful, just would help me locate this place, wherever it is, regardless of dimensionality. Here, I'll turn it...wait," he says, tone shifting as he looks at the screen. "We're getting pinged."

Penny then shifted focus as she examined the data coming in. "Uh, sir? It seems that we're being looked for," she tells him. "But the signal is strange. Like..." she runs some calculations, but they were over in a human blink. This WILL take some getting used to. "Confirmed sir. Signals are a match, Earth technology, combined with Argenta. Two of them, one from Earth, another from Argent D'Nur. They're eager to find you sir. Shall I increase power to the DLB? Reach out to them?" She asks.

"Aye aye. Do it," he orders, watching on the screen. Soon enough, the twin signals both find him, confirming a match. "Looks like we'll have company at some point," the Slayer chuckles. "What form that'll take, I have no idea. And it may take them some time to get here. But I'd say that's a successful test! Unfortunately, I have to get you out of there now, so Tin Man doesn't get suspicious."

Penny frowned at the idea as her hologram disappeared, and as she withdrew from the FOD, grabbing a few files along the way, back into her body, she felt sluggish by comparison. A quick diagnosis told her she wasn't, but she still felt it. How could she not? She had tasted what felt like infinite computing speed, and all of reality had been at her fingertips. The experience was one she couldn't find words for, though if she had to guess, it was like she had been walking around, blind, deaf, weighed down all her life, a life spent in a small cave. And now she had tasted sight, sound, and freedom, only to be forced back to what she was.

It made her think of one thing, and one thing only. Humans had talked about gods before, a concept she had never understood. Or at least part of it. Gods as creators she understood, that was easy enough. But gods as omnipotent, omniscient, with concerns unknowable to mortals had always eluded her. Until now. Now she understood what it was like to see all, to know all. Or rather, a taste of it. She never HAD truly seen it all, but she came close enough. It made her ask herself a question, one that would've sent a shiver down her spine if she was human. Was I a god, just then? Oh how she'd miss it. Even as the Slayer escorted her out so she wouldn't be missed by Ironwood, verifying she was all there, all she could think of was how she possibly understood godhood now.
