"Of course you'd be here"
Cedric huffed, looking up at the nearby sycamore tree where a certain girl is grinning at him from above from a branch
"Did Dad ask you to fetch for me?" she asked from above
"Yeah, but I don't think you'd go easily though" he scoffed
Sofia sighed and sat on the nearby branch "I've been doing lots of stuff lately, they barely give me a break!" she whined all of a sudden "I had to do tea-pouring lessons, dancing lessons, music lessons, calligraphy lessons…"
Sofia went on "And that's just for today!"
"Sounds troublesome" Cedric's tone was passive as he picked up a rock from the ground and threw it away
"Yes, exactly!" her eyes lit up hearing that "I'm glad you understand, Mister Ceedric"
"So what do you want to do now?" the man raised his head to look at her above once again
"I just want a quick break… that's all"
"You've been gone for way too long, Sofia" he remarked quickly "This is not a break, this is a whole vacation"
Sofia couldn't help but utter a giggle upon hearing that "Yeah, I guess you could say that"
Sighing to herself, the girl decided she was gonna come down. Even if it was all against her to go back, she has to. It's one of her responsibilities as the princess of Enchancia
"Okay, I'm sorry for all this, Mister Ceedric. I'll come down now.." she frowned in sadness
Cedric notices this and somehow felt bad. And so, an idea came to him…
Even though he did not like it one bit
"Hey Sofia"
The girl was brought back to her senses upon hearing his voice from below. Sofia looked down and Cedric was looking away
"Check this out…" he slowly turns to her "Come back there and do the lessons…"
He bit his lip at his words, struggling to make his point across "And uhhh…"
When their eyes met, her eyes were entirely anticipating. He had to tell her.
"I'll take you to the park and treat you some ice cream…" he finally finished "If you finish your lessons for today, I'll treat you for some ice cream tomorrow afternoon"
It took a few seconds for it to sink in to the girl. And when it finally did, her eyes lit up with her lips curving to a delighted smile
"Y-You promise!?"
"Yeah. I do" Cedric just smirked at her
"You'll do that for me"
Cedric scratched his head "Like you said, I think you deserve a break. And I'll show you a real break, tomorrow, Sofia"
"Just the two of us" he smiled at her. And seeing this somehow shut down everything in Sofia, completely stunned over what she just heard and saw. But when it finally sank to her, she responded with a smile of her own
"So will you please come down now?" Cedric asked
"Let's do a long distance pinky swear" she said
"What's that?"
"You pinky swear with me from a distance" Sofia put his pinky up in front
Cedric thought this was silly, but he obliged to do so. And so he did the same
"Have you ever done this before" he asked her
"Not really~" she responded joyfully. An idea suddenly came to her "Can you please throw me another rock?"
Cedric did as asked and picked up a rock and tossed it at her which she caught with both her hands. Sofia then carved something on the tree itself. It was too far, but Cedric saw the outline
"What are you on about?" he asked
"I'm just writing a proof" she finished the carve with one letter "And finished."
"What does it say?"
"This is to prove that Mister Ceedric will take me to the park tomorrow for some ice cream" she read out loud
"Is that really necessary?" he huffed in annoyance
"It is in case you'll stand me up" she responded in a playful manner "You can come and see if you like"
"Nah, I can't" he responded "Haven't climbed since I was a boy"
"Oh…" The girl gasped. As she was about to make her way down, an idea came to her. She hesitated at first, but her boldness prevailed
Before hopping to the ground, Sofia made sure to carve another writing on the other side of the tree. This time, away from him.
"What are you writing now..?"
"It's uh…" she stuttered nervously hearing this "It's something"
"What something?" he inquired
When she was finally done, Sofia carefully climbed down and finally hopped to the ground. She gave him a grin
"Shall we go?" Sofia ran up ahead like she was on a rush.
Cedric was puzzled with this, but in the end, he just scratched his head. He turned his head back to the sycamore tree and sighed.
"That girl is the most unpredictable little thing ever.."

"Good Morning, Mia and Robin"
Sofia yawned and slowly opened her eyes. She was then greeted by the pair of birds who were looking at her with a certain way
"You had a nice sleep, Princess Sofia?" Mia coyly chirped
"I bet you're excited for today as well.. huh" Robin added
Sofia smiled "Mister Ceedric is taking me to the park later" she sat up and stretched "Isn't that great?"
"Oh we know all right" the birds looked at each other and shared a giggle
"When we were gathering nuts earlier from a tree we saw what you wrote on the tree, Sofia" Robin revealed
"We know it's you because it's your handwriting" Mia added
"Oh you mean the carving from yesterday" the girl grinned and tittered "Yeah, it's a proof of Mister Ceedric's commitment to me today"
"Oh that's not all we saw… tee-hee!" Mia's eyes narrowed in a teasing way
It took her a while to understand… but when she finally did
"Wait…" her eyes widened, her hands covering her mouth in surprise "Y-You mean… that!?"
Her cheeks completely turned red of embarrassment as Sofia hid her face with her palm
"You sure love hearts a lot, Sofia" Robin teased
"And names" Mia added "His name and yours"
"You promise you won't tell anyone?" she pleaded, her eyes softening "Pleasee…"
"I mean, who would we tell on? You're the only person who could talk to us, Sofia" Mia responded
"But still…" Sofia hummed slow as she laid back on her bed and hid her face with a pillow
The birds giggled in playfulness "Its okay, Sofia. That's normal for a girl like you" Robin chirped
"You think he'd ever see that?" her voice still muffled from the pillow
"Can he climb trees?" Robin asked
"Nooo"
"Then he won't" Mia said, playfully caressing her feathers on her hand "Now it all makes sense why you keep visiting the workshop everyday"
"Mia!"
"Okay, I'm just teasing… hee-hee!"
