Donnie gazed at the remains of TCRI that were illuminated by the city light.
"It almost looks as destroyed and barren as it was before." He said, holding his phone, which currently showed Karai and Rockwell's health monitor.
"Yeah, they should have condemned this building years ago, especially after the earth protection force abandoned it." Leo said with Leatherhead beside him.
"Yes, this region was recently re-populated after the Kranng was deemed no longer any future threat." He added.
"Well, that turned out well. Looks like we have another group of sick minds to take care of." Raph scoffed, turning to Leo.
"So what's the plan, chief?" April asked, standing next to Angel, who whipped out her Manriki.
Leo looked at the building with dread. "We want to avoid any physical combat that isn't necessary, so we rely on stealth and speed." Leo said, unsheathing his katanas.
"Then, after that, we come back and pummel them into oblivion." Raph said with a smile.
"No. Well maybe, what matters most is getting in and getting out without risking our kids' lives any more than they already are." Leo replied, glaring at Raph. "Leatherhead, you will buy us time to sneak in and serve as backup if we need it." He continued turning to the Alligator, who nodded.
Donnie handed the mutants the breathing tubes as Casey Mona and Angel readied themselves.
"So are you sure your wife's ok with this? Watching everyone back in the lair." Angel asked, with Mikey jumping around them.
"It's fine. Besides, Shini is over there too." Casey answered only to be interrupted by Mikey.
"Yeah, it took a lot of convincing on Shini's end. She really wanted to kill someone."
Donnie put the breather in his mouth as April looked down at her feet.
"Donnie, what's going on?"
Donnie turned to her, confused. "What do you mean, April."
She grit her teeth. "I'm unable to tell what's happening. I don't know anything anymore. It's like I'm broken, and now all our family is in danger." She said, gripping at her head.
Donnie's face fell before reaching out and pulling her into his arms.
"Right now, if it weren't for you, Karai wouldn't be here. You kept her alive." He paused. "You are not broken, April. The only thing broken is the minds of these people who hurt our family."
April looked up at him as the group looked to each other for comfort. She steadied her breathing and released her tesson.
"Let's really make this hurt."
--
In the tampered halls of TCRI, spread-out soldiers wandered in pairs.
Raph and Casey looked through a vent as a couple passed. "Ok, five pairs on the 11 floor." Casey said into his Tphone.
April and Angel cracked the door to A janitor's closet. "7 on 13." Angel whispered back.
Leo and Mikey gazed down from a metal ceiling panel. "There's 10 of them on the 15th." Mikey said as Leo snapped a photo of the symbol on their arm.
"The security is getting more intense the higher we go, meaning their main base is likely at one of the highest levels." Leo said.
"Mona, how's the blackout going." Mikey asked into the device.
Mona stood on guard behind Donnie, who was messing with the fuse. Donnie flipped the remaining switch, cutting off all the electricity to the building.
"You should be able to tell Michelangelo." She replied as the lights shut off around the four teams.
Mikey faintly laughed. "Yeah, you're right." He said before Leo took the phone from his hand.
"Leatherhead. Are you ready?" Leo asked as the soldiers began to look around with confusion.
Leatherhead stood on top of an elevator heading to the 5th floor. His eyes went white.
"Yes." he growled, crouching down and gripping at the elevator emergency exit.
--
Vital whipped out a flare as Chaplin pulled down his medical mask. The only other light in the room coming from the mutagen.
"I'll order a technicality measure to get the power on. Until then, it would be best to avoid further action." Chaplin said, turning on the tablet screen.
Vital looked at Kohanna, pale and unconscious, before facing the doctor. "No, we need this done now." He said, taking out a switchblade.
Chaplin looked at him, startled. "We are working with mutagen, sir. It's dangerous to work with it blindly." Vital turned the small child's head.
"We only need the DNA. The rest of her we can use for experimentation." Vital said, cutting off the tuft of red hair that was pulled into a small pigtail.
Chaplin thought to himself and nodded, pulling his mask back up. The other kids remained guarded and confused in the dark, looking to each other for comfort.
Iris was occupied as she pushed on the small piece of metal that kept the cage door from opening. Her arm was straining as the tips of her fingers nudged at it until it loosely fell on the floor.
A guard looked down at Kiba and Irrilia, who were still curled up together. "I mean, they are kinda cute." He said, shrugging to his partner before being stunned in the back by Vital.
He fell to the floor with the other soldier holding onto him.
"Don't let them deceive you! They are nothing but worthless burdens. Monsters, they should be wiped out before they become the end of all of us." He yelled, standing over them.
"I'm sorry, sir, it won't happen again." The soldier groaned, pulling himself back to his feet as Vital growled. He turned towards the young human child, trying to keep his composure. The child was sitting on a chair watching them.
"Sorry, you had to see that, buddy." Vital said, rubbing the kid's head. "Hopefully, you won't have to deal with these freaks in the future."
The child looked at him and then the mutants with confusion when an alarm went off over the device on Vital's belt.
The soldiers looked at their radio transceivers with shock as a mutant alligator terrorized and attacked the members on the 5th floor.
Chaplin turned to vital before speaking over the radio. "All free units, head down to the 5th floor as we go into lockdown. All the others, stand your ground and maintain security."
--
Leatherhead's commotion had many of the soldiers heading downstairs, with only a few remaining on the floor with flashlights out. Leo and Mikey glanced at each other and dropped a smoke bomb into the hallway making the two sets of soldiers look around in confusion.
The two jumped down onto a pair taking them out instantly, before quietly strangling and knocking out the other. Mikey rushed around them with a chain before Leo shoved them into a closet.
Let's get moving. The others should be heading up here soon. Leo said as Mikey threw the remaining two into the closet and closed the door.
The two peeked around the corner with the staircase exit at the end of the walkway. Another pair of soldiers walked towards them as they maneuvered their way through the dark. The staircase door was cracked open, and footsteps echoed from below.
Mikey and Leo eased their way onto the stairs as Leo reached for his sword. Mikey looked down at the never-ending staircase and saw April and Angel hurrying their way up. Mikey sighed in relief as Leo barricaded the door. April and Angel made their way to the two mutants, slightly out of breath.
Any idea which floor they're on? Leo asked, turning to April as she held her hands at her temple.
April focused her breathing and closed her eyes. They should be somewhere in the top three floors and seem to still be all together.
Thanks, April. Let's hurry up there and message the others. We need to keep things quick. Leo said before Angel typed at her Tphone.
--
Leatherhead slashed and snapped at the many soldiers who were charging at him. The gas in the room did not affect him due to the breather. They shot darts at him, but he easily dodged. It was dark, and the only light in the room was from the soldier's few flashlights. His night vision made it easy to avoid and attack without getting hurt.
Donnie and Mona snuck into the building as Leatherhead threw two soldiers into the window.
Nice Leatherhead. Donnie said, backing away into the elevator door with Mona behind him.
Ok, Angel said that they're on the three highest floors. Let's go. Mona said, climbing into the elevator shaft with Donnie behind her.
Leatherhead swung his tail into three of the Humanists, crashing them into a set of desks. A member from the opposite side jumped and stunned him in the back, making him fall forward. He growled, turning to grab them by the neck, before forcing their face into a computer screen. He grinned, watching as many of the members coward away.
You don't get to run away this time.
--
Chaplin held a steady blade in his hand as Kohanna remained motionless on the table. Kiba and Irrilia stared in horror as he laid out many surgical tools and tilted her head. Hunter sat wrapped in a blanket next to the soldiers currently guarding the two mutants. Vital looked at them for a moment before turning to Chaplin.
I'm curious as to what crazy mutant traits these things have. They appear to all be highly unique. He said, leaning against the table, making a pair of forceps fall onto the floor.
Chaplin smirked, placing a pair of tweezers down. Well, in A few sagittal cuts, we'll have her opened in no time. Chaplin said, adjusting the knob on the tanks hooked up to Kohanna's mask. A machine connected to the tanks behind the lab table began shifting its gears.
Iris creaked open her cage before opening Irrilia's broken one for her to step onto. The soldiers in the room were still cornering Kiba and Irrilia on the other side of the room. Hence, she began to quickly crawl her way over to the forceps on the floor. Chaplin began to lower the blade to Kohanna's chest, making Irrilia and Kiba scream, scratch, and bite at the soldiers containing them. Iris looked up with fear before taking the forceps and jamming it into the gears of the machine.
The sound of grinding metal turned Chaplin's attention away from kohanna as Iris crawled under the table. Kohanna began to shift with no gas going through the mask. Vital looked at the machine, noticing not only a pair of forceps bent into the gears but Iris hiding next to it.
He growled, dragging her out from under the table as kohanna began to cry and thrash her head. Chaplin pushed her into the tray she was in, reaching for his scalpel. Vital rolled his eyes and threw Iris into the wall landing her unconscious next to Kiba and Irrilia.
Hunter watched with worry turning his head to Vital as Kiba shook at Iris's shoulders.
--
Raph and Casey joined up with the others at the emergency exit. Ok, Mona said they should be up here in a few minutes. Leatherhead is keeping everyone busy. Angel said as Casey flipped up his mask.
Well then, let's get going. I wanna teach these punks a lesson. Casey said, readying his fists.
Casey's right Donnie and mona will catch up soon, but we can't afford to take our time. Leo said as he began to jump his way up the staircase. The others joined in behind him.
Wow never expected him to agree with you. Mikey said with a smirk before leaping away.
Casey scoffed after him as the group made their way to the top three floors. They stopped at the 3rd to the last floor, preparing to fight.
We should split into groups of three and search. Leo said, sword ready. Who wants to stay and wait for Donnie and mona. Leo asked as the two popped up next to him, panting heavily.
The group looked at each other with confusion.
We're here. Donnie said, holding his finger up. Did you know this building has over 50 floors in it? He continued, finger now twitching. The group nodded, making him sigh. So what's the plan? Donnie said, still out of breath, as Mona leaned against the wall beside him.
A high-pitched scream echoed into the stairwell, turning the group's attention upward. April and Donnie both went pail.
Kohanna? Donnie looked up towards the sound before he and April immediately began running up the stairs.
Wait! Guys?! Leo yelled, everyone, rushing after them.
--
April and Donnie snuck through the halls of the top floor. It was far more tech-ridden and soldier occupied than the others. Still, Leo, Raph, mona, and angel were quick in dismantling soldiers.
Mikey and Casey created diversions through smoke bombs and shadows as soldiers seemed to vanish one by one. Another cry made April and Donnie gasp and run over to a broad black door. The others joined them as they looked through the green-tinted window.
Kohanna was screaming strapped down to the table with a mask hanging off her face, and the others looked worn and beaten. April held her hands to her face as Donnie growled.
Raph clenched his fist. What kind of evil? What kind of monsters!? He hissed as Angel's eyes began to water.
Leo moved Donnie and April aside before unveiling his katana. We need to get in there, stealthy or not. If it's a fight, they want. Leo aimed his sword. It's a fight they'll get.
--
Chaplin placed the scalpel at the redhead's forehead, her screams radiating through the room. Dakota and Cody shook at their constraints as Kiba and Irrilia held onto Iris, still out cold. Vital grinned taking out his sword before turning to Chaplin. They're here. The family shattered the door landing in the room; weapons held high. Vital turned to them, putting on his mask before Leo stepped forward.
Give us back our family.
Leo stood at the center, pointing with his katana as the group unfolded around the room. Now!
Vital chuckled, gripping at his blade. Your family? You can't even comprehend the concept of family. Leo growled, Kiba and Irrilia watching from next to Iris. If anything, we're sparing these children from what a monster like you would even define as a family. Vital scoffed as Raph's eye began to twitch.
You have no room to talk about being a monster! He yelled as soldiers held strong next to their leader. Vital shifted his stance, raising a hand to the soldiers in the room as they took out their array of blades and guns. The family stood firm awaiting their signal before Leo shouted.
Take them down!
Raph wasted no time, charging towards Vital. With a roar, Raph aimed his sai for vitals neck, but he quickly shifted and blocked it with his sword. Vital landed a blow to the turtle's gut, making him wheeze as Mikey and Leo ran over.
Chaplin pulled out a stun cane as April, Angel, and Mona attacked. April landed on a desk, Angel, and Mona kicking him to the ground. A pair of soldiers jumped towards them before suddenly freezing in the air.
They gagged as April choked them. Stay away! She threw them to the ground with a crash.
Donnie was climbing from the pipes of the ceiling, looking around. Kohanna was in the center of the room, strapped to an operating lab table. Kiba Irrilia and Iris were all stuck in the corner with guards towering over them and a small child he didn't recognize.
Mikey pounced behind Vital nunchucks aiming for his head as Raph repeatedly stabbed at him. Vital ducked, Mikey, hitting Raph across the face.
Agh! Raph fell to the side with a groan.
Raph! Mikey jumped over Vital and grabbed his brother, rubbing his jaw.
Vital snickered and swung his sword at Mikey's back, only to be blocked by Leo.
Leo forced the blade back and twisted his hips, roundhouse kicking Vital in the chest with a crack.
Mikey stood up, twirling his nunchaku as two soldiers leapt towards them. He battle cried, running forward before split-kicking them in the stomachs.
Casey ran through the room, smacking soldiers left and right with his hockey stick.
Irillia and Kiba cried from the corner, still guarded as Iris failed to wake up. The three mothers glared, Mona springing forward with her salamandrian sword. She slashed a soldier across the chest as April threw her tesson into another.
Hunter backed away with fear watching the fight ensue. He turned to the three mutants on the floor, Irillia and kiba both staring as the scene unfolded.
Mona continued to jab at them, turning to Chaplin with fury. She cried, dashing ahead as Chaplin dodged, stunning her in the back.
Agh! She yelled, falling to the floor.
He pressed a button on the device at his belt and prepared to strike, but Angel grappled his wrist with her manriki. April jumped up and launched her fan into his waist, making him fall to his knees. Angel forced the stun cane out of his hand, pulling his arm out of its socket with a snap.
He screamed, grabbing his shoulder, as Irrilia gripped onto Kiba for stability and Hunter began to quiver.
Mona pulled herself up, shooting at one of the soldiers in front of the three children. A green energy-like field formed from a device on his wrist blocking the lasers. She hurled her fist at the neighboring soldier and rotated to kick the other. Both of them, withstanding her blows shot at her with the darts.
Kohanna was still crying on the table in the middle of the room as April kicked and thrust soldiers away.
Vital and Leo slashed at each other, blades coming inches from the other's face.
Vital snarled, their two blades straining against each other. If you really cared for them, you wouldn't have let them suffer the same way you did. Let them live their life as a freak.
Leo growled. You don't want to know just how much I can make you suffer. Leo snapped before kneeing him in the chest. Vital glared with his switchblade and sliced a section of Leo's face, tearing a portion of his mask.
Leo! Raph tripped Vital to the floor as Leo rested his hand on his cheek.
Leo hissed, seeing the blood on his hand.
I'll be fine right now we need to focus. Leo forced himself up next to Raph as Mikey released his kusarigama chain.
Vital got back on his feet, firing a gas grenade.
Mikey lassoed Vital's waist before tugging and swinging him into the screens against the wall. He screamed as electric shocks surged through his body and down the chain, shocking Mikey in the process.
Mikey landed on the floor as Leo turned to the side of the room and saw Angel, April, and Mona attacking the soldiers. Chaplin was beginning to pull himself together, pushing himself to the lab table. He aimed his knife at kohanna, a vicious look on his face.
No! Leo rushed toward her, his hand still on his face.
Donnie gripped his staff.
Stay away from my daughter!
Donnie jumped from the ceiling, crashing on top of Chaplin.
He was currently out cold, so Donnie quickly turned to Kohanna. He reached for her as she wailed, using a small blade to free her.
Casey hurried to the cages with Dakota, Cody, and the two babies. Don't worry, guys. I'll get you out of there. He whispered, taking out a crowbar from his hockey bag.
More of the gas filled the room, making Kiba and Irillia cough.
A soldier tackled Casey, shoving him into the cage bars. The twins yelped as the cages collided against the wall. Casey desperately kept the soldier propped above him with a bat as they continued to strike at him.
What is wrong with you?!
Donnie kicked the soldier into the array of tanks. Come on. Let's free the others before any more of that gas is released. Donnie said, holding Kohanna in his arms.
A fleet of soldiers stormed into the lab, dart guns aimed at the mutant family. Donnie and Casey glanced at each other as the others attempted to gather themselves.
Things just got far more difficult.
--
"We need backup! Leo yelled to Raph as more weaponry was aimed at them.
Mona and Angel surrounded Kiba, Irillia, and Iris, with April in between them focusing her hands in front of her.
Casey looked at Donnie and Kohanna before handing Donnie the crowbar. "Their darts won't hurt me; break them out while we can." He whispered. Donnie thought before nodding and gripping the crowbar.
Raph pressed a button on his Tphone, before someone shot at him. He easily dodged, but it turned into a chain reaction of shots aimed at them. The family maneuvered their way through the dark, avoiding the glowing darts.
"Ha, this is kind of like a video game!" Mikey said with a smile as he flipped around the lab.
Hunter sat curled up in the corner next to vital, who was still unconscious. He was in tears crawling behind the lab equipment in the room with fear.
Donnie snapped off the locks of the two boys as Casey smacked away soldiers charging for them. A soldier shot him in the ribs, making him hiss, but he quickly slugged them in the face.
Mikey jumped onto the open gas grenade and chucked it into the window, shattering the glass frame to pieces.
The array of guns held by the humanist fired in sync, and the three turtles unable to avoid them froze, preparing to block them if they had to. A dart aiming for Leo's face froze in space as the guns were thrown out of the soldier's hands. Leo gasped as more blood trickled down his face. April had her hands out in front of her as her hair swayed upward to a point. The darts suddenly shifted and shot right back at the ones who fired them.
The gas began to vent out of the lab through the broken window as the humanists winced.
Donnie grabbed the two infants from the cage, shushing them. "Be quiet, you two."
Casey released his twin sons and quickly wrapped them up in a hug. "Come on, we need to get out of here before any more gas grenades are fired." Casey said as Donnie held onto the three babies in his arms.
"What about the others?" Donnie asked, turning to Iris, Kiba, and Irillia.
"You stay here and help. I'll take them and escape." Casey said as Cody and Dakota climbed on his back.
"Ok, make sure to monitor their injuries when you get there." Donnie placed the infants into Casey's arms before facing the soldiers with his bow staff.
"No worries, D." Casey began to jump and speed away as Donnie held off more humanists with his staff. Casey ran to the window pulling out his grappling hook. He took the rope in his hockey bag and tied Cody and Dakota securely to his back before launching the hook into the neighboring tower.
Leo stared at the large tank of mutagen in the room as Raph crawled to his feet. Chaplin tapped at a screen, and Vital was beginning to wake up from next to it. "So these guys hate mutagen, right?" Leo looked at the tank in the room. "I have an idea." Leo said, turning to Raph and Mikey.
Vital stood to his feet and aimed his gun at April. "No!" Donnie yelled as April turned her head to the dart, aiming for her head.
A loud crack rang through the room as the whole expanse of the window shattered. Leatherhead leaped into the room, destroying the wall of glass and landing on top of Vital.
Angel blocked April's shot with a hiss. She looked down at her arm and reached for the dart before placing it in her pocket. The three children watched in terror as Leatherhead slashed and bit at the soldiers, crushing them in his jaws.
Vital kicked him in the eye as Chaplin stabbed his leg with a scalpel. Leatherhead roared, grabbing Chaplin by the face and slamming him into the floor.
Mona leaped and swung at Vital. He was continuously dodging her sword, as well as her tail.
Irillia, Kiba, and Iris were interlocked with each other, Angel standing guard in front of them. Irrilia turned her head to the child under the table. Hunter had his knees to his chest in terror as he covered his ears.
Angel and April kicked and slugged soldiers in the face as Leo ran across the room.
"Donnie, anything you can whip up with this lab equipment to make an explosion." Leo asked as Leatherhead fought behind him.
"Oh, sure, easily, but wouldn't that be dangerous?"
"It's a bit risky, but these people are clearly freaked out by mutants and mutagen. If there is any chance they could get turned into a freak, they will flee." Leo pointed to the humanist running to the door. "We get the kids out first, then blow the place."
Donnie thought for a moment before nodding and running to grab supplies around the room.
Raph charged at Vital, prepping his Sai to stab, but heard the sound of Irrillia's crying. "Irillia?"
Vital took the chance kicking him in the chest, making him crash onto his back with the wind knocked out of his lungs.
Donnie was finding many combustive materials. What he needed was something to ignite it with, a spark of some kind.
April levitated soldiers from the floor, swinging them about before clenching their bodies in her grasp.
Mona grabbed Irrilia and Iris before reaching out to Kiba. Chaplin ripped the young girl away by the neck, holding her with a blade to her throat.
"If you value her life, you won't dare make a move." He said as Kiba's eyes pricked with tears.
Mona froze, hesitant in her movements, before Kiba hissed and launched a snake hand at his eye.
"Aghh!!" He rushed back with a cry, holding his wound.
Mona took action as the doctor screamed, tripping him and catching the child. "Don't worry, Kiba, I got you." She said, pulling them all to her chest before rushing to the window.
Vital popped up behind Mona, slugging a pipe against the back of her head.
Her eyes went heavy as she fell forward.
"Mona!" Raph ran over, forcing vital to the floor before grabbing the salamandrian. A scream echoed in the building as Iris and Kiba groaned from the floor, turning Raphael's attention to the window.
Irillia was hanging from the window rail, hundreds of feet above the ground, gripping at it for her very life. "No!" Raph ran over to her grabbing her arms, only for a foot to slam into his back, knocking him out the window with her. "Aghhhh!"
Vital smirked as the family cried. "No!"
"Raph, grab on!" Casey Released his grappling hook, with the escaped children resting beside him.
Holding onto Irillia, Raph grabbed hold of the rope and wrapped it around his forearm. He released a sigh as they slowly swung in the air, pulling Irillia closer to him. "Thanks, man! Those idiots are gonna pay for that!"
April slung her tesson into a Soldier's back, with Angel joining up behind her to crash the heel of her foot into another's knee.
Mona winced, pushing herself to her knees.
Iris and Kiba huddled next to her before noticing Hunter under a table.
"Donnie! Updates now!" Leo yelled, blocking darts with his sword.
"I have everything I need except something to detonate it with." Donnie said as he ran in front of the mutagen tank and placed his array of combustive material on the table.
Vital reached down to the two mutants with a malicious smile before a set of shurikens sliced through the muscle of his shoulder.
"Keep away from them!" Angel yelled, pulling more, throwing stars from her pocket.
Mikey rushed over to mona as Leatherhead continued to keep soldiers busy.
Iris and Kiba were holding onto each other as Vital gripped his arm.
Mikey swung his nunchucks at him as Mona pulled herself up to her feet. A short stick hit him in the wounded arm, making him cry out before Mona kicked him to the ground nocking a tank over.
Kiba grabbed onto Iris, ushering her out of the way, before sneaking away from the fight.
Leatherhead was being surrounded by guards, their tasers sparking with anticipation.
"Well, I have you know I was tased throughout all of my young life." He growled with his similar memories of the Kranng. "So I would suggest backing away." He continued, his eyes going white again.
Leo jumped up behind them, slashing three of them across the back before Leatherhead swung his tail at the others.
Kiba and Iris were crawling towards the door, limping as they went, not noticing Chaplin hurrying over.
Chaplin glared at them, hand still over his eye, before kicking them into an array of tanks and beakers. Glass shattered around them, earning them many cuts as they wailed.
"You monster!" Leo kicked him in the back of the head, forcing him to the ground before slamming his fist into his face.
Leatherhead snapped a soldier's arms in his mouth, ripping the taser out of his hand and onto the floor.
Vital continued his fight against Angel, Mona, and Mikey. The three of them jumped at him all at once, aiming their weapons. He slid on his knees underneath, making them all crash forward into a stack of box crates.
April lifted him into the air before twisting his limbs in unnatural positions. "Aggghhh!" He screamed, making April smile as her hair swayed up to a point.
She threw him across the room and into the doorway as a drop of blood trickled from her nose.
Leo stood up, blood still dripping from the cut on his face looking down. Chaplin was now a painful unconscious mess.
Mikey, Angel, and Mona quickly limped their way over.
Leo turned to the two children bruised on the floor before slamming his foot against Chaplin's ribs.
We need to go. "Donnie, any luck yet?!" He yelled.
"No, I need to find something. Something to trigger combustion!" He groaned, slamming his fist onto the lab table, making Hunter jump from underneath it.
"Why does this lab have so many flammable substances and nothing to light it with?!" Angel complained, picking up Iris. Leo picked up Kiba and placed her on his back before taking out his katanas.
Leatherhead walked over to them, a soldier still in his jaws. Leo looked at the armed soldier for a moment before his eyes widened.
"Ahah!" Leo yanked the taser out of the unconscious soldier's hand. "Donnie!" He yelled, throwing it over to him.
Donnie caught it in his hand as his other held a piece of tape he had rolled into a wick. "Thanks, Leo!"
"Let's head out!" April said, propping mona up on her shoulder. The group hurried to the window, releasing their own set of grappling hooks.
Leo kicked and stabbed at a few remaining soldiers as Leatherhead joined up with the others.
More soldiers were rushing up the stairs. Taking the bag off his belt, Leo threw the caltrops, preventing them from catching up to them.
"Donnie! Let's move!" He yelled as Donnie lit the end of the homemade fuse.
The two hurried out the window using their family's already-prepared grappling hooks.
Vital lifted his head with a groan as a small cry rang in his ears. "No! Hunter!!" He yelled, trying to force himself to his knees.
The child hid under the lab table, tucked away, as the sound of tiny sparks echoed above him. He hugged the foam sword to his chest as the sparks grew louder, and Vital's voice went hoarse. "No!"
--
The family stood together on the neighboring rooftop as the explosion blast destroyed the upper quarter of the TCRI building. They all looked at each other in relief before landing on their knees and backs in exhaustion.
Casey walked over to Mikey, handing him the two young ones before giving Kohanna to April.
"Aww, look at you." You two barely got a scratch. Mikey said, nuzzling his face to theirs.
April smiled as Kohanna curled up to them in her arms. "Hey, Hanna." She said, a small tear going down her face.
Leo pulled Kiba closer to his chest in relief before she kissed his forehead.
Raph and Mona sat against the wall, still out of breath. Raphael turned to mona, offering Irillia for her to hold. She smiled, taking the child out of his hands, as she giggled.
Cody and Dakota sat in Casey's lap, using each other as pillows as they slept.
Leatherhead stood to the side with a rare smile. "I'm so relieved to see our family back together." He said. The Hamato family smiled as Leonardo stood up.
"I know, right?" Leo paused, looking down at Kiba, resting her head on the front of his shell. "If only master splinter was here to see this." He continued, making the group go quiet.
Kohanna shifted in April's arms.
"I truly wish I was able to visit more often." The family froze as the deep voice radiated from behind them.
"Father?" Mikey gasped.
Turning their heads to the sound, the tall figure of their sensei stood at the edge of the building. He smiled as the group faced him.
"Father, your here?" Donnie said, stepping forward. "Yes, my son. I am." Everyone's eyes were wide as new tears formed.
"It-its been so long. Your back!" Raph said with a smile. Splinter sighed as the family joyfully made their way over to him.
"My family." He said, smiling down at them. His eyes landed on the children in their arms. His eyes widened slightly before his face fell back into a smile. "My family."
Leo looked up to his father carrying Kiba as she waved at the rat. Splinter placed a hand out to rub her head, making Leo's face soften. Donnie, now holding Kohanna, stood to the opposite side.
"My family has doubled in size." Splinter joked, turning his gaze to Donnie and his daughter.
Mona handed Irillia to Raph before he joined up next to Leo and Donnie, Mikey not far behind him. Angel, April, and Casey watched the brothers with Leatherhead hugging them from behind. Irillia grabbed splinters whiskers with curiosity before sneezing. Raph smirked before Mikey quickly pushed by him.
"Say high to your grandpa." Mikey said, holding up the two youngest. Splinter laughed.
"I don't believe they can speak yet, Michelangelo."
"Yeah, that's true." Mikey grinned.
Splinter smiled before looking down.
"Hopefully, I will see you all again." He said, lifting his head to everyone.
"You will, master splinter. I'm sure of it." April said, stepping forward.
Splinter smiled and closed his eyes. "Goodbye, my family." He said as his body started to fade. "I love you all."
The family watched as the flowers blew away, and his body disappeared.
A long moment went by before Leo turned to the group, a small smile still on his face.
"Ok, guys." Kiba pulled on his torn mask, making him chuckle. "Let's head home."

Kavaxas smirked, gazing down at his hands.
"My dear Ginas." He held a small Demodragon up to his face as her eyes barely opened.
"I created you for one only reason…"
