Lily had enjoyed September of 2021, the first month of her third year at Hogwarts, more than any month she had previously spent at the school.

She had thoroughly appreciated meeting and interacting with the students from the other houses and found herself admiring Headmistress Kirke for making it happen.

Lily was looking forward to October even more because of Headmistress Kirke's plan to create teams of four students with one student from each house per team.

Pairing up with students from the other houses in classes had been a fantastic avenue for introducing students in the same year and different houses to each other.

Now, Headmistress Kirke's monthly interhouse teams plan would open up opportunities for students in different houses and different years to meet and get to know each other.

On Friday, October 1st, 2021, Lily awoke to find a note in her bed.

This note read:

Dear Miss Potter:

Your monthly interhouse team for the month of October shall be as follows:

Gryffindor: Third Year Lily Luna Potter.

Hufflepuff: Fifth Year Navarro Wright.

Ravenclaw: First Year Wilma Wise.

Slytherin: Seventh Year Bruce Gamp.

Remember that your monthly interhouse team will meet up every Friday from 9 P.M. to 11 P.M.

The schedule of which team member decides what the team does shall be as follows:

October 1st: Navarro Wright.

October 8th: Bruce Gamp.

October 15: Wilma Wise.

October 22: Lily Luna Potter.

Because October of 2021 is a five Friday month, the monthly interhouse teams for this month will take a fifth session together on October 29th. Any member of the team chose what the group does on this night. Teams will have to work out who chooses on this night for themselves.

Miss Potter, your team shall meet tonight for the first time at 9 P.M. on the Sloping Lawns. The four of you should introduce yourselves to each other there before Navarro decides on the team's activities for the night.

-Headmistress Kirke.

Lily eagerly galloped down to the Sloping Lawns at 9 P.M. that night, excited to meet her teammates for that month.

When she arrived there, she saw an averaged sized average heighted first year girl with blonde hair and blue eyes, a short and slim, though not exactly petit fifth year boy with black hair and green eyes, and a tall and muscular seventh year boy with medium brown hair and brown eyes.

"Hello, " said Lily in a warm friendly tone as the four of them came into each other's visual range, "It's nice to meet you three. I'm Lily Luna Potter. I'm a third year Gryffindor What are your names?"

"I'm Wilma Wise, " said the first year girl, "I'm a muggleborn first year and in Ravenclaw. I'm very academically inclined and my favorite subject is Charms."

"Mine too!" cooed Lily, "I'm guessing you like the individual freedom that Charms allows for?"

"You're a clever girl yourself, Lily," smiled Wilma.

"I'm Bruce Gamp," piped up the seventh year boy, "I'm a seventh year Slytherin. I'm a descendant of Ulick Gamp, the first ever Minister of Magic."

"And I'm Navarro Wright," added the fifth year boy, "I'm a fifth year Hufflepuff. I'm a descendant of Bowman Wright. "

Bruce, Navarro, Wilma, and Lily all looked at each other in awe and said, "OOH!"

"You, you're descended from the first ever Minister of Magic, Bruce?" said an awestruck Lily.

"Not only that," added Bruce, "But Ulick Gamp was also the man who founded the Department of Magical Law Enforcement."

"WOW!" Chorused Navarro, Wilma, and Lily.

"And my ancestor, Bowman Wright, created the Golden Snitch!" cried Navarro proudly.

"He lived in Godric's Hollow too, " smiled Lily, "The Potters have lived in Godric's Hollow for hundreds upon hundreds of years! As a Seeker myself, the history of the Golden Snitch is certainly of immense interest go me."

"That makes sense " replied Navarro, "Quidditch may not be the most important thing in the world, but hey, it's still cool to have the inventor of the Golden Snitch as an ancestor!"

"So?" asked Lily conversationally, "I wish to be a Wandmaker when I grow up and that's why I'm taking my brother James's Wandmaking class. What would you three like to be?"

""I'd like to spend my early adult life creating and inventing new Charms of my own," cooed Wilma dreamily, "Once I get to be about thirty or so I'd like to be a Charms teacher."

"You have a clear cut passion for Charms, Wilma," observed Lily.

"I don't get the impression that many muggleborns find their passion in the Wizarding World so early in their time in it, but for me, there's no doubt that Charms is my calling in the Wizarding World, " declared Wilma confidently.

"I love your belief in yourself, Wilma, " said Lily approvingly.

"If you don't have faith in yourself, no one else will have faith in you," added Bruce.

"Self Confidence is the first step to success," agreed Navarro.

"You would think, coming from the lineage of the first ever Minster of Magic and founder of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, that I would want to go into politics, " said Bruce matter of factly, "And you would be right. But I have a greater ambition than merely going into politics. I want to be Minister of Magic or the equivalent in at the least three different sovereign countries."

"Do you know if anyone has ever held such a position in more than one country in his or her lifetime?" Lily asked Bruce curiously.

"According to A Complete and Thorough History of Magical World Leaders, the answer to this question is no, " answered Bruce with a gleam in his eyes, "That's makes me more determined to do it because I would be the first do ever do so."

Navarro, Wilma, and Lily all looked at Bruce in awe. There was ambition and then there was ambition.

"What about you, Navarro?" inquired Lily.

"I like watching Quidditch but I don't like playing it, " admitted Navarro, "I'm not one for much physical contact. However, I do love flying and when I'm grown up, I'd like to begin my own broom manufacturing company. I have a passion for brooms."

"Do you collect vintage broomsticks?" Bruce asked Navarro.

"Yes, I do, " said Navarro simply.

"Well, " said Lily radiantly, "We're an interesting team with a diverse set of backgrounds, interests, and goals, but Navarro, it's your turn to choose what we do tonight."

"I say we just keep chatting the rest of this time period, " suggested Navarro, "We can push back the schedule of who choses what we do by one week each."

"Would Headmistress Kirke approve of this?" wondered Wilma.

"Yes, " called out Headmistress Kirke, who happened to be passing by the Sloping Lawns at that nanosecond, "The schedule was only really a guide anyway. As long as you meet up every week, that's all I really care about. And of course, that you don't do anything illegal or destructive in these sessions. "

"So?" suggested Navarro, "Let's vote on it. Raise your hand if you agree to just keep chatting the rest of this session and push back the schedule of who chooses what we do by a week each."

Bruce, Navarro, Wilma, and Lily all instantly raised their right hands and they just kept chatting the rest of the session.

At the end of the session, having already gotten to know each other pretty well, Bruce, Navarro, Wilma, and Lily all smiled at each other as they exchanged goodbyes and went back to their rooms, all already looking forward to their next meeting the following week.

Lily felt utterly content as she lay in her bed that night.

Her last thought before she fell asleep was how wonderful meeting new people was.
