Later that night, at 9 P.M. Hogwarts Time, Lily walked down to the sloping lawns for her third meeting with her October 2021 Interhouse Team.
Bruce, Navarro, and Wilma were already there and were happily chatting amongst themselves.
"Good evening, Bruce, Navarro, and Wilma," piped up Lily happily, "Tonight is Bruce's turn to decide what we will do tonight."
"Lily," said Bruce matter of factly, "Headmistress Kirke told me that you had to deal with some heavy stuff today. I'm guessing you don't want to do anything too rigorous tonight?"
"It's your turn tonight, not mine," replied Lily calmly.
"Today was my 18th birthday. I was really hoping to have a birthday party with you three tonight, but Headmistress Kirke isn't sure that Lily is up to dealing all the mess, lights, and sound that comes along with that after what her day has been like today. Headmistress Kirke suggested I come up with a quieter, darker, cleaner, and more relaxed choice but I haven't thought of anything."
"Hey, Bruce, Navarro, Wilma, can you three wait here for a bit?" asked Lily, "You can kill the time by chatting amongst yourselves."
"Sure," chroused Bruce, Navarro, and Wilma and Lily walked away and out of sight.
It took an hour before Lily returned to the sloping lawns and when she did, she was carrying a large bag with alternating vertical green and silver stripes.
"I have prepared and gathered the materials for an eighteenth birthday party for Bruce," said Lily warmly.
"Awesome!" exclaimed Navarro and Wilma.\
"Thanks, Lily," smiled Bruce quietly.
Lily dug her left hand into the bag and pulled out a cake. It was a chocolate cake with silver frosting and Happy Birthday Bruce written on the frosting in mint green frosting. There were eighteen candles around the cake in an alternating pattern of green, silver, green, silver, etc. The green candles were lit with silver flames and the silver candles were lit with green flames.
"Wow," Lily, "cooed Bruce, "It's in Slytherin colors for me. And you obviously used your excellent Charms skills to make these flames."
"I made this whole cake from scratch using food charms first introduced by Helga Hufflepuff," explained Lily, "And, yeah, I used my general Charms skills to ignite the flames atop the candles on the cake."
Lily handed the cake to Bruce and said, "Bruce, Navarro, Wilma, and I will sing Happy Birthday to you and when we stop. blow out the candles."
'Awesome," replied Bruce.
Navarro, Wilma, and Lily burst int song:
"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Bruce. Happy birthday to you."
The nanosecond Navarro, Wilma, and Lily stopped singing, Bruce aimed a hearty blow towards the candles and the flames were immediately extinguished entirely.
Then, without warning, the cake automatically split into four with one piece staying in Bruce's hand and one piece each landing in Navarro's, Wilma's, and Lily's hands.
"Cool!" cooed Wilma, "Lily bewitched this cake to automatically split into four with one piece for each of us after all the flames were extinguished from the candles."
"The Ravenclaw figured it out," grinned Lily, "You might also notice the candles are gone."
"Oh," piped up Wilma, "You put Vanishing Spells on them that made them automatically disappear once the flames were extinguished.
"Right again, Wilma," beamed Lily, "Let's eat the cake then."
Bruce, Navarro, Wilma, and Lily ate the cake and just smiled at each other.
"That was delicious, Lily, " declared Navarro, "And believe me, I don't compliment food easily."
"Hufflepuffs are well known for their fussiness about food and their high standards when it comes to food quality, " added Wilma, "So, Navarro praising this cake is a BIG deal."
"Lily," said Bruce sincerely, "Thank you for all the effort and skill you put into my birthday cake and the personal touches you added to it for me."
"Now," continued Lily, "As you are a Slytherin, I've made the rest of this party green and silver themed."
Next nanosecond, Lily retrieved her wand from her right hand pocket with her right hand. Lily then made some wand movements and performed some nonverbal spells.
At that, they were showered with an enormous amount of green and silver confetti. Numerous green and silver balloons rose into the air and popped. And a steady stream of green and silver fireworks rose into the air and went off, illuminating the night sky with a brillant tent of Slytherin colors.
At one point, a string of these fireworks formed the words Happy Birthday Bruce and froze for a few minutes and a few nanoseconds before fading.
"Wow, Lily" cooed Bruce adoringly, "I'm in awe of how well you've pulled this off and warms my insides to know you did all this for me."
"It was a lot of fun putting this together," said Lily radiantly, "It's very fulfilling to see it be such a big hit."
The night became a green and silver bash to celebrate Bruce's eighteenth birthday and Bruce, Navarro, Wilma, and Lily were just having a bunch of mindless fun.
They eventually started tossing the confetti at each other and putting the popped balloons bits in each other's hair.
It was loud, bright, and messy and it had all the feeling of celebrating a birthday with gusto.
They were having so much fun that they didn't realize it was midnight, an hour past the scheduled end of the session, that they actually closed up shop for the night.
Before they parted ways, Lily gave the Bruce the bag and said, "This bag is yours to keep."
As they departed, Bruce looked down into the bag and saw that it was filled with goodies and presents for him.
"Thanks, Lily," said Bruce softly.
"My pleasure," piped up Lily glowingly.
