Hello there again. I got a new chapter for you!
Nerooffiziell: Thank you for your tip. It really helped me out.
Chapter 5
(The kill ring)
When Hiccup arrived at the arena, he saw he was first there. Deciding to head in, he walks toward the weapons rack and sits beside it. Thinking back to today's events, he can't help but smile at the thought of having a friend who accepted him for who he was. He also remembers what Toothless told him about enhanced abilities. If that is true, then dragon training should be easy for him.
Hearing the recruits arrive, he snaps out of his thoughts and looks toward the entrance. Seeing Gobber and the others, he stands up and walks over to them. "Today's lesson is about teamwork. So go and make teams of two." Gobber told them when they separated into teams consisting of Astrid and Ruffnut, Tuffnut and Snotlout, which leaves Hiccup and Fishlegs.
As soon as Gobber opens the cage, the dragon comes out with smoke filling the entire arena. As Hiccup walks through the smoke, back to back with Fishlegs, he can hear the girls getting watered by Snotlout and Tuffnut. Chuckling, he stops Fishlegs rambling with a short snarl, which he didn't know he could do and struggles to keep his laughter down while Tuffnut gets ambushed by the dragon. The smoke dissipated as soon as he heard that the others were out. He watches one head coming out of the smoke as Fishlegs throws his water at the head. Unfortunately, it was the wrong head, proving its point by spewing gas at the husky boy, leaving him running and screaming. The second head appears, and Hiccup tries to throw the water, but it only goes up a foot and splashes on the ground. 'Well, so much to improved strength.' he thought. "Aw, come on." he groans, shoulders slumping, but falls back when the Zippleback moves toward him, trying to light up the gas. But luckily, the gas already dissipated too much.
"HICCUP!" Gobber yelled out in worry. The dragon was now in front of Hiccup and took a sniff. Screeching, it starts to walk back to its cage. Hiccup uses that advantage and walks toward the frightened dragon, "Back. Back. That's right. Now think about what you've done." Hiccup says as he closes the cage, which now contains a frightened Zippleback. Turning around, he notices the others watching him with dumbfounded looks. He sees that Astrid's face formed into a more jealous and angrier look. 'Great. That will earn me another beating.' he thought. "Okay, so is that it? Because you know, I have some things to do. Okay, great, see you tomorrow!" with that, he runs off.
Walking home, he's thinking about ways to control the tailfin. He already got the approval of Toothless to ride him, so he can skip thinking about how to automate it. Slipping into his workroom, he pulls out his notebook. After a few minutes of thinking, he got an idea. Drawing the sketches, another 30 minutes passed, and it got dark outside by now. After he finishes, he starts working on it by heating the forge. Five hours later, he looks over his work. Approving his work, he closes the forge and leaves to go home. Arriving home, he decides to go to sleep right away.
(The next day)
Since today was no training, he got the chance to visit Toothless in the morning. What surprised him when he woke up was that he could see better. Even his smell and hearing improved a lot overnight. It made him happy to know that his senses DID improve. Picking up his project and a basket full of fish, he was surprised again to see that carrying it wasn't hard at all. 'Guess my strength did improve too.' he thought as he began his walk through the woods toward the cove.
Arriving there, he sets the basket down and spills its content on the floor. Toothless bounds to him with a happy look and starts to nuzzle into him. "Hey, Hiccup. I'm glad you came back." he says. "I told you I would be back. Also, I got good news! My senses and strength did improve! Isn't that awesome?!" Hiccup exclaims as he scratches the scaly head. "I told you it could happen! Now, did you come up with a plan for my tail?" Toothless responds and starts devouring the fish. "Well, I did make a saddle so it doesn't get uncomfortable for you. The next thing I came up with is a pulley system that connects to foot pedals on the saddle, allowing me to control the positions of the fin. I need to put it on, and then you must show me which position does what." Hiccup explains. "Well, start putting it on me then!" Toothless replies as he stands still for Hiccup. After a few minutes, the complete riding gear was on, and Hiccup got on the saddle. "Now, show me the positions."
After 20 minutes, Hiccup has all the positions needed. Looking at the sky, he sees it's a bit cloudy, allowing them to fly unseen. "What do you say, bud? Let's give it a test run." Hiccup declares. "Alright. Hold on tight." Toothless says before he shoots upward. Hiccup lets out a shout filled with excitement. He loves how the wind blows into his face and how he can see miles around him. Looking down, he sees they are at least a thousand feet above the ground. He spots the village below him. He glares at it as his mind fills with hate and anger toward it. Turning back to the task, he pats Toothless on the neck.
"Alright, buddy, we'll take this nice and slow. Position three, no four." Hiccup told his friend. "You know, I don't think you should look at that cheat sheet of yours. We are bonded; it will come naturally with flying. So go towards those sea stacks and let instinct take control." Toothless told him with a huff. Thinking about it, Hiccup throws the sheet away and steers them to the sea stacks, "You're right. I trust you."
Reaching the formation of stone, they start to dive down. Nearing the stacks, Hiccup can feel something in his mind activating, telling him how to place his foot. Going in, they start to move around the piles. The whole time they move as one. Exiting it, Hiccup looks back and throws his arms up with an exciting shout, followed by a blast from Toothless. They fly under the explosion and land on an island near Berk, catching fish on their way there. After making a campfire, Hiccup starts roasting his fish.
A few Terrible Terrors are approaching the pair on the shore. After an interesting fight about fish between Toothless and a Terror, Hiccup gives the tiny dragon his fish. After the Terror eats the fish, it approaches Hiccup and curls beside him. Scratching it, he says, "Everything we know about you is wrong." "So, what do you want to do now?" Toothless asks after a few minutes of silence. "I was thinking about something. Can you train me to be better at fighting?" Hiccup asks Toothless. The Nightfury thinks about it momentarily before replying, "Well, I might be able to train you to fight like a Nightfury. Which means you would be fast, stealthy, and deadly. It will take a while, but we can make it work. Why do you ask?" "Since you know how those people have treated me, and not only the people on Berk but every island in the archipelago, I was thinking about leaving. We could search for an island of our own and start making a name for ourselves. We could make them fear us and make them pay for how they treated me. Also, we could make the dragons pay for treating you like that." Hiccup answers. Toothless, who was listening carefully, was thinking about it.
Hiccup is right. They could do that. But does he want to do that? Thinking back on how he and Hiccup were treated, anger fills him. Looking at his rider, he decides, "That sounds like a perfect plan." Smiling, Hiccup hugged his best friend, even though, Toothless was more like a brother to him. "You know, you're the first one who ever showed me you care about me. You're the only family I have. Thank you for coming into my life, brother." Hiccup says as he puts his forehead against Toothless's. "And I will never leave you alone, brother." Toothless said.
After it got dark, they flew back to the cove, where Hiccup dismounted Toothless and said his goodbye with one last hug. He told Toothless they would start leaving when he could say goodbye to Gobber and Gothi. He walked into his bedroom and dropped on his bed. Thinking about leaving made him smile, and he couldn't wait to make the village suffer for how they treated him.
While Hiccup was sleeping, five special people met in a dark alley. Astrid was the first to speak: " Does anyone else feel like Hiccup is doing something behind our back? How he won today in the ring, that wasn't normal. I, for one, would like to remember him that if he can't win with the Viking way, he shouldn't be winning at all." They all agreed with her, and Snotlout spoke next, "So we all agree that we will beat Hiccup up so that he can't take part in training anymore. Do we ambush him before training or after?" Fishlegs was the first with a plan and put up his hand, "What if we didn't wait till tomorrow?" The others all looked at him like he'd grown a second head. "Well, if you think about it, he could run away from us tomorrow. But right now, he should be sleeping in bed, making him an easy target since he doesn't see us coming." Fishlegs explained. A sinister smile appeared on everyone's face as they all started walking toward Hicuup's home.
So, I hope you enjoyed it. And thank you again, Neooffiziell, for your tip. This program does help a lot. Also, I know it's shorter than the last two, but the reason is that I don't have much time currently. So please keep that in mind.
