Guys, I posted a poll on my Youtube channel about who to pair Harry with and so far Hermione is winning. But you can still vote. You can also vote on whether James should end up with Jenny (a final vote). BOTH polls are on my community tab in the following link (the most recent and third most recent poll): Tasha9315/community But if you can't access the link, search for my channel Tasha9315 (My channel name is Tasha Kay but you can only find it if you search my previous name Tasha9315). Or let me now and I'll help you get access.

A week before school began, Harry and James met the Weasleys and Grangers at Diagon Alley. Minister Cornelius Fudge was very accommodating in providing security for him and his father. They were even personally met by Fudge at The Leaky Cauldron where the latter promised to do all he could to catch Peter and provide security for their family. Harry wondered if their family and friends would be in danger from Peter but Fudge and his Aurors assured Harry that Peter would not be in such a powerful position to kidnap any of them if they stuck together and didn't wonder off alone. Even muggles were made aware of Peter as an escaped convict in the muggle news. However, the Weasleys and Grangers were to stay at The Leaky Cauldron until school began where they were guarded by Aurors while Blacks and Lupins (including Remus's dad) stayed at Potter Manor. Harry and James also opted to stay at The Leaky Cauldron for the week until school begun so that he could spend time with his friends.

"Mr. Potter, you were Headboy back in your seventh year too, weren't you?" asked Percy as they sat down together for dinner. He had been pompously wearing his badge since they arrived and didn't realize that his twin brothers had jinxed it to alternatively say Bighead Boy and Pinhead to the amusement of the others.

"Yes. I was honestly shocked when I got my badge and thought someone was playing a prank on me," answered James.

"If you were like us in school and were never prefect, maybe George or I would become Headboy in our seventh year," said Fred.

Percy rolled his eyes. "Nonsense Fred. I'm sure Mr. Potter had at least toned down his behaviour and stopped acting like a fool if he was chosen as Headboy," he said indignantly. "Right Mr. Potter?" There was a flicker of pleading doubt in his voice as he asked this.

James laughed. "For the most part. We certainly weren't pranking anyone anymore. But if we still acted like fools sometimes, what the staff didn't know didn't hurt them if you know what I mean," he winked at Fred and George who winked back.

"Well, you two will never stop your antics so you can forget about becoming Headboy," said Percy.

"Mr. Potter, which electives did you take for your OWLS?" asked Hermione, quickly changing the topic.

"Care Of Magical Creatures and Divination. Sirius and I wanted to take the two easiest subjects for convenience but we didn't take Muggle Studies as Sirius's parents wouldn't allow him to and I didn't want to be separated from him. Remus and Peter chose to go with our electives so we could be together."

"Cool. Just like me and Harry, except that we're both allowed to take Muggle Studies instead of Divination. Hermione on the other hand wants to run herself to the ground with five electives," said Ron.

"I do NOT. If it impossible, I wouldn't have been allowed to take all those classes." Hermione snapped.

"If you're taking all electives, wouldn't they clash with each other?" asked George. "We've been asking the same thing to Bill and Percy but they've never given us a straight answer.

"Don't worry Hermione. Professor McGonagall has a way to get us through all those classes," said Percy who got eleven OWLS back in his fifth year.

"How?" they all asked.

"I can't say. It's a secret. But you can always drop one eventually like Bill and I dropped Divination."

"I'm most excited for Ancient Rune and Arithmancy," said Hermione.

"Lily was too," said James softly. "She took them because she wanted a challenge along with Care of Magical Creatures."

Harry held his dad's hand as he noticed the pain in his dad's voice and face.

They continued conversing in this way throughout dinner after the awkward moment had passed.

The next morning, Harry came down to breakfast to see the everyone bent over The Daily Prophet and speaking in hushed tones.

"What's going on?" he asked before taking a seat next to Hermione.

Hermione passed him The Daily Prophet and Harry narrowed his eyes as he saw the headline.

St. Mungo's Hospital and Belleview Orphanage robbed of centuries old records on the same night.

Wednesday, August 25th, 1993: There was a break-in and robbery at St. Mungo's and Belleview Orphanage last night. Nothing was stolen accept St. Mungo's birth records from the thirteenth century and Belleview's orphanage records from the same century. It is believed to be the work of the same person with a common motive for both crimes as records from the same century were stolen from both places. It is curious indeed as to what a person could want with birth records and orphanage records from the thirteenth century. Aurors are doing their best to investigate and get to the bottom of this case.

"Why would someone want birth records and orphanage records from 700 years ago?" asked Harry.

"That's what we've been wondering," answered Hermione.

Just then, Fudge entered the Inn followed; or rather, hounded by the Press.

"Minister Fudge, has there been any updates on Peter Pettigrew?" asked a reporter.

Fudge pressed his lips together and fidgeted with the ring on his finger. "Now, now, we've been doing everything we can to find Pettigrew. We will keep your informed once we have more information."

"What about the break in and robbery at St. Mungo's and Belleview?" asked another reporter.

"We're also doing everything we can to find out who's behind that," said Fudge, trying to keep his composure.

"Does Peter Pettigrew have anything to do with the break in? It can't be a coincidence?" asked a third reporter.

"Now … now … we don't know. We can't think of any reason he would have to do that but as I've just said, we're doing our best to investigate." Fudge stammered.

"Is Peter after Harry Potter? What has the Ministry been doing to protect The Boy Who Lived?" asked the same third reporter.

Fudge wiped a sweat off his forehead. "We've provided Auror protection for Mr. Potter and his close ones. He is in safe hands. We've even placed Dementors outside Hogwarts to catch Peter Pettigrew if he tries to get to Mr. Potter there."

"But Minister …" a reporter began.

Fudge's eyes lit up as he noticed Harry. "Speaking of the boy, here's our Mr. Harry Potter and his father. See, they're in safe hands. Come on both of you."

"Minister, is this …" James began but Fudge cut him off.

"Come on Mr. Potter. One picture with you and your son won't hurt. The people are worried about The Boy Who Lived. Let them see he's in safe hands. Bring them here," he ordered his bodyguards.

Fudge's men practically dragged Harry and James to either side of Fudge. Harry looked awkwardly at James who gave him a sympathetic and helpless look that read "Sorry son. But it's alright. Let's just get the one picture done with." The Minister put his arms around Harry and James as the reporters snapped pictures.

"How do you really feel about Ministry's protection for you and your son, Mr. Potter?" the same third reporter asked James.

James briefly gave a line or two about how the Minister was doing their best to protect him and his son. Harry had to admire how his dad could speak with confidence and composure despite the discomfort he could tell his father was feeling.

"Mr. Potter, are you worried about sending your son back to Hogwarts?" asked the first reporter.

"Why would I be. There are dementors guarding it now," answered James, trying to hide his annoyance.

"And young Mr. Potter …" the third reporter began.

"I think that's all my son and I have to say for now. We've told you all we know," James cut her off.

"But I'm not done. Can we just have two more words Mr. Potter?" asked the third reporter.

"Certainly … We're" James held up a finger as if he were counting. "Done" James held up a second finger. He then took Harry and led him back to his seat at the dining table.

"Dad, do you think Peter has anything to do with the break-in and theft?" asked Harry once Fudge had gone upstairs and the reporters had left.

"Maybe. But I can't think of any reason for him to do it," James shrugged.

"Perhaps those things contain information that could help 'You Know Who' gain power. It would be easy for him to break in with his rat form," suggested Hermione.

"You could be right. But I'm afraid the Ministry is not going to do all they can to investigate the break in and theft," said James.

"But Fudge just said they were," said Harry.

"He's a Minister, Harry," said Arthur. "He has to say what pleases the public. But The Ministry wouldn't consider a theft of birth records and orphanage records from seven hundred years ago to be important enough to waste their resources on."

Ron went pale "So if Peter really is behind this as some plot to get 'You Know Who" back in power, no one is truly going to stop him?"

"I'm afraid not, son," said Arthur.

"Maybe Sirius, Remus and I could try to figure out what's going on as Private Detectives," said James.

"Maybe Ron, Hermione and I could help you from Hogwarts," Harry offered.

"NOO" said all the parents in unison.

"Harry … I almost lost you twice in the past two years when you tried solving a mystery at Hogwarts," said James.

"James is right" Molly cut Harry off before he could respond.

"But mum …" Ron began.

Molly crossed her arms. "Haven't you three almost gotten yourselves killed quiet a few times meddling in things children your age shouldn't be meddling in?"

"I have to agree with James and Molly. Leave it to us adults to figure this out," said Arthur.

"They're right Hermione," said .

"At least they have some idea of what's going on in this world. Your father and I can't be constantly worrying about you putting yourself in danger, especially in a world we know almost nothing about," said Mrs. Granger.

"But what if we happen to come across certain things that could be useful. Can we at least let you know?" asked Hermione.

"As long as 'happen to' truly happened by chance and you three are not putting yourselves in danger, I suppose we can accept that," said James.

"And if we're careful …"

"No Harry"

"I meant if there was a lead that we could investigate without putting ourselves in danger and it was more convenient for us to do it, would you allow us too?"

"Only if you come to us first," said James.

"James I don't know if …" said Molly.

"I meant if they got our permission first and if it was harmless."

"Alright" said Molly. "But only if you got permission from us and it was harmless." She warned. "Do we make ourselves clear?" Molly crossed her arms again and glared down at each of Harry, Ron and Hermione. All three of them nodded in agreement. "And Ginny, this only applies to them. Not you."

"But why? I'm only a year younger."

"Because I'm your mother and I said so."

"Fine". She stormed off in a huff.
