Outside Dragonspiral Tower, we met Professor Cedric Juniper's assistant -ha ha- Nick, who offered us a ride to meet the professor at the White Ruins. En route, he told us that the excavation team may have made a fantastic discovery, but won't say any more.
Discovery, right, I snickered internally. Good, everything was going as planned.
"Welcome!" Cedric greeted us with a beaming smile, as soon as we were inside the ruins. "Look at this!" He showed us a door covered in mysterious symbols. A door we had never seen before. Nope, never. I am not being sarcastic! I swear! Well... maybe a little bit. Cedric moved a few panels around, and the door opened. "That's the Light Stone!" Cedric awed in delight. "That's an item straight out of legend that is said to be Reshiram in a different form!"
"I kind of feel bad for him," Ash murmured to me. "We should be awestruck by this, but at the end of the day it is simply too comon for us."
"Let's blame Arceus," I chuckled. "It's all his fault."
"It is," Ash agreed with a smile. We sighed at the same time, as we watched the professor pick up the stone. It burst into flame in his hands, sending a bright blast of light straight up into the air and leaving him unharmed. "Come on! He might be excited, but rule number one of dealing with pokemon is to never touch anything you do not know. You might end up getting possessed! And that's not nice!"
I shivered at the memory of my trainer getting possessed by an evil spirit. Yes, not fun at all.
"Well, not everyone is used to getting involved with Legendaries," Lucario defended the professor, who was fanboying over the stone.
"You know, if it weren't for the fact that there are so many people out there that want to gain control of Legendaries I would totally write a memoire," Ash commented with a hum. "Teach everyone about all the idiotic things not to do when faced with a Legendary."
"We do know them all," I agreed with a snicker, recalling all of our adventures with Legendaries.
Our last adventure came to mind. Though, more than it being ours, it was N's and his meeting with Reshiram.
"Reshiram!" N gasped in stunned shock, as he saw the Legendary dragon his captor had been hunting for all his life. Though, it was not as mindblowing as watching Ash cuddle with Zekrom in one corner of the legendary White Ruins. At least, in N's eyes. Ash gets cuddles from the Legendary Bird Trio all the time back home in the Orange Islands. "It's truly you."
"You've met me before, little prophet," Reshiram commented. "I am glad you survived my rage. It was focused on those filthy criminals, rather than you. I apologize for getting you in the cross fire."
"Did he just apologize?" Ash asked in disbelief, as I watched in shock. "Did that just happen? A Legendary apologizing without being scolded?"
"Did you scold a Legendary?" Reshiram turned to us, it was his time to look at us in disbelief. "How are you even alive?"
"By now, I have no fucking idea," Ash shrugged uncaringly. "Maybe universal intervention? It needs The Savior to be alive."
"That makes sense," Zekrom agreed, cuddling even closer if that was possible- ignoring the scolding look Reshiram had sent him.
"I like these Legendaries," I told my trainer. "They are on third place after the Orange Islands's and the Alola Island's guardians."
"How many Legendaries have you met?" N turned to us, shocked.
"Well..." Ash counted mentaly, before shaking his head. "You know what, it would be faster to count those I have not met yet."
"Yet?" N gasped in disbelief.
Ash shrugged again. "Well, following the trend, I'll end up meeting them when I visit the other regions."
"How can you be so flippant about all of this?!" N looked desperate for answers, not that I blamed him, one needs time and experience to get used to the Ketchum brand of chaos.
Explosions outside the White Ruins snapped me out of my memories. I smirked, electricity sparkling on my cheeks in excitement.
"Cilan," Ash spoke up firmly, as he released Charizard, Tyranitar, Sceptile, Pidgeot, Greninja, Infernape, Alola Slowking, Espeon, Sylveon, Alola Slowbro, and Meganium.
It was finally time.
"On it," Cilan answered, corralling Iris, Max, and a very confused Cedric. Before calling out a borrowed Alakazam and transporting them all to Alto Mare, taking the Light Stone with them and under the protection of Latias.
Nick got rid off his ridiculous disguise and revealed his real identity: Detective Looker was on the scene!
Riley released his own team, alongside Looker's and we were ready for a good fight.
Well, almost ready.
"Charizard, Sceptile, Pidgeot, Luacrio, Tyranitar, let's Mega Evolve!" Ash exclaimed, taking his necklace from under his shirt and kissing the Key Stone.
My friends, nephew, and son's bright shine as they Mega Evolved, blinded the Team Plasma goons outisde the White Ruins. Giving me the cover I needed to use Agility and Iron Tail to destroy Colress perfected machine.
"My machine!" Colress shouted in dispair, as the light faded and he noticed what had just happened.
"Boss," Team Plasma's Aldith called fearfully. "Not the time," he pointed with a trembling finger at us. "We are screwed."
"One would think that criminals would understand by now that defeating us is not possible," Espeon huffed like the queen she was, making Charizard cackle madly.
"You see dear, some people are just stupid," Sylveon smiled angelically next to his mate, as if he had not just insulted a whole organization.
To be fair, they are stupid. Still, savage.
"Let's get this over with soon," Mega Pidegot said gracefully. "My old flock came to visit me in the Orange Islands and I would like to spend time with them, before they have to migrate again."
Slowking and Slowbro took their positions at one side of Ash each, while Meganium stood before our trainer. They would be focusing on support and long-distance attacks, while protecting our dearest person.
"Let's do this!" Mega Charizard roared, spitting blue flames.
We all rushed forward as one. We danced a well known and choreographed dance around these spineless goons. As Espeon used Psychic Fangs, Sylveon used Fairy Wind to power it. Greninja jumped from the shadows all around the battlefield, keeping an eye on our backs in case someone tried to sneak on us. Mega Charizard and Mega Pidgeot took care of the sky on their own, no one giving them any trouble until someone released a Hydreigon.
"Now this is a party!" Mega Charizard roared, making me laugh as I zapped from one place to the other, taking down pokemon and knocking out the goons.
An all-out brawl like this is always such a fun bonding activity for us. We can go all out... well, almost all out. No killing unless necessary. Not that any of us has ever killed anyone. Charizard had been the closest one against Salamence.
Still, as fun as it was. It did not last long enough for us to enjoy it fully. Dan appeared from the shadows with his own Greninja and the rest of the Kanto Ghost Team, that have taken time off from their duties back on the Orange Islands, leaving it to the Sinnoh Ghost Team, in time to do the arrests.
"How did the others do?" Ash asked his lieutenant.
"No casualties or grave injuries on either side," Dan reported. "Every base has been taken care of... Team Plasma has fallen." Everyone cheered at those news, while the goons moaned in distress- serves them right! "Our allies have Ghetsis' Mansion surrounded, they are waiting for you to advance."
"Slowbro, Slowking, Espeon, a little help," Ash turned to our teammates.
"As you command Master," they all said together, eyes flashing with psychic energy and transporting us in front a huge mansion- we left Looker in charge of the scene, while Riley rapidly transported himself to Alto Mare to reassure our friends of our success.
"So, this is the mansion N told us so much about," Lucario commented. "It feels cold and empty. I don't like it here, daddy."
I turned to my nephew surprised by his use of the word 'daddy', he has been trying to stop that habit ever since he had evovled. This place must feel very bad for him to go back to old habits like that.
"I don't like it either," Ash grimanced, he must have felt the same as Lucario through their aura. "Let's get over with this soon."
"Captain Ash Ketchum!" Head Ranger John saluted, many rangers did the same, sending looks of awe and respect at us. Another region that will worship us and feel indebted to us... oh, how uncomfortable Ash must feel! I snickered internally.
"Head Ranger John," Ash saluted back, ignoring the looks of longing he kept receiving from the othe rangers and my snickering at his misery. "What's the situation with our target?"
"He is... sitting..." John reported, looking as weirded out as what he had just said.
"Sitting? He is trying to escape or attack?" Ash repeated dumbfounded.
"No, he is not," John answered.
"Well, let's still be careful," Ash said, as he headed towards the main hall of the mansion- where Espeon had told us Ghetsis was. I raised an eyebrow when I saw the throne the Leader of Team Plasma was sitting on, more than a hall this place looked like a throne room. "How more conceited can this man be?" Ash murmured, shaking with barely contained rage. "Ghetsis Harmonia Gropius, you are under arrest for terrorism, torture, kidnapping, and many other various crimes. "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be provided for you. Do you understand the rights I have just read to you?"
"I do," Ghetsis replied, offering no resistance as Head Ranger John cuffed him. "Did I take you by surprise?" Ghetsis mocked my trainer, looking amused as various of my teammates growled threateningly at him. "Well played Saint, I know when I am defeated. There's no shame on surrendering." He stopped when he reched Ash. "You see, unlike those teams you have taken down before us, we are no simple criminals. We are united under the umbrella of the same ideals, you might have taken us down. But our views will live on within our followers, we will never die out."
"Move it!" Head Ranger John grolwed, yanking him away.
But Ash and I could only stare at Ghetsis back as he laughed, his parting words resounding in our minds.
