Remo and Max were in the middle of a Full Battle, and eventually, Max's Seismitoad finishes off Remo's Rhyperior with a blow from a Hydro Pump. The scoreboard reveals that Max has managed to defeat all six of Remo's pokemon while losing only Serperior, Banette, and Mightyena. Max's Mega Gallade having dealt with Remo's ace, his Mega Garchomp. It was a spellbound battle for sure.
"He did it!" Ash exclaimed. "Top 2! In only his second try!"
"It shows how good of a mentor you are," Gary praised him, making Ash blush.
"Riley is also Max's mentor!" Ash was quick to respond, face red.
"For what? A couple of months?" I teased. "No, this is all you. Though, I will take credit for what a good Aura Guardian you turned out to be."
"Credit where's due," my Lucario nodded his head solemnly, though I could feel his amusement through our aura bond.
"So, the finals will be between Max and Sawyer," Diantha hummed, as the battlefield being prepared for the last match. "Friends and rivals meeting at the top of the Lumiose Conference, how fitting!"
"Max has been wanting a rematch since their last battle," Clemont commented.
"It will be epic!" Bonnie exclaimed. "Max will win and he will be crowned champion!"
"We will see," Diantha replied, with a kind smile. "After all, the final battle is about to start."
With that said, we all turned towards the battlefied, as Max and Sawyer stepped on their respective sides. The tension in the stadium was palpable, my heart pounded with excitement, knowing that this battle would determine the champion of the tournament.
"Let's do this Gallade!" Max relelased his starter and ace, taking us all by surprise.
"He is starting with him first?" I exclaimed shocked.
"It seems that they both decided to start with a bang," Lucario commented, as Sawyer released his Sceptile- both trainers then proceeded to Mega Evolve their pokemon.
Max's Mega Gallade and Sawyer's Mega Sceptile clashed with incredible strength and skill. The battlefield crackled with energy as their powerful moves collided. I could feel the intensity of their rivalry, all the way into the VIP box. Each trainer giving their all to emerge victorious.
The battle unfolded with lightning speed, both Mega Pokemon exchanging devastating blows. I couldn't help but marvel at the sheer power and determination displayed by Max and Sawyer. Their bond with their Pokemon was evident in every command and every move executed. As the battle reached its climax, my anticipation reached its peak. The clash between Mega Sceptile and Mega Gallade intensified, their attacks resonating with explosive force. It was a battle of equals, each refusing to back down.
But then, in a surprising turn of events, the battle resulted in a double knock out. My eyes widened with astonishment as the dust settled and both Mega Pokemon collapsed to the ground. The crowd erupted into a mix of gasps and cheers, recognizing the sheer magnitude of the clash.
"Shit!" Gary cursed, making Clemont turn to him with a glare- his little sister was in the room as well. "They are not holding back at all! That battle took less than five minutes and I was barely capable of keeping up! Are they really rookies? I can understand Max, as he has been infected by Ash," Gary continued, ignoring Ash's affronted 'Hey!'. "But Sawyer? He was supposed to be a normal trainer."
"Did you really think that a normal trainer could have been names Max's rival?" Ash scoffed. "Max saw something in Sawyer, and he is now proving us all that he is special. Don't doubt Max's eyes!"
I ignored the bickering couple next to me and returned my focus to the battlefield. I winced once I saw the matchup, Salamence was battling Florges. Now that's quite a disadvantageous pair. But Sawyer was not allowing that to slow him down. Knowing that Salamence's Dragon-type moves would be ineffective against Florges' Fairy typing, Sawyer devised a plan to turn the tides in his favor. He commanded Salamence to utilize his Steel-type moves, hoping to exploit Florges' weakness and gain an advantage. But Max wasn't one to back down easily. He had trained Florges meticulously, understanding her strengths and weaknesses. With unwavering determination, Max strategized his counter-attacks, fully aware of the risks at hand.
As Salamence launched his Iron Head, Florges showcased her grace and resilience. I marveled at her ability to withstand the onslaught, Florges withstood the steel attacks with fortitude, demonstrating her unwavering resolve. Max's commands were precise and calculated, guiding Florges through the tumultuous battle. Florges retaliated with her own Fairy-type moves, unleashing a dazzling display of power and beauty. The air around them shimmered with the ethereal energy of Florges' attacks, leaving a trail of enchantment in their wake.
I could sense the determination radiating from both trainers. Max's bond with Florges was evident as he guided her through the tumultuous battle, while Sawyer pushed Salamence to his limits, determined to turn the tide in their favor. As the battle raged on, the crowd watched in awe, captivated by the sheer intensity of the clash. Every move, every decision held the weight of the tournament's outcome. The stadium reverberated with the cheers and gasps of the spectators, reflecting the thrilling nature of the battle.
And then, in a triumphant moment, Florges unleashed a powerful Moonblast that connected with Salamence, overwhelming him with his raw strength. My heart swelled with pride as Max and Florges emerged victorious, their teamwork and resilience paying off. The crowd erupted into thunderous applause, acknowledging the exceptional skill and strategy displayed by both trainers. I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement, knowing that this battle was one step closer to determining the Lumiose Conference champion.
However, the tides would soon turn to Sawyer's side, as he made his next move, sending out his resilient Slurpuff. Max, determined to maintain his momentum, kept his trusty Florges in the fray. The contrast between the delicate elegance of Florges and the playful charm of Slurpuff set the stage for an enthralling clash. Slurpuff, with its whimsical demeanor, showcased his agility and cunning, launching a barrage of charming and unpredictable moves. The air was filled with the aroma of sweet confectionery as Slurpuff weaved through the battlefield, leaving a trail of sugary delight in its wake. Florges, on the other hand, relied on her graceful and calculated approach. She moved with poise and precision, her Petal Dance and Dazzlzing Gleam resonating with elegance and power.
The battle waged on, with each trainer fiercely commanding their pokemon. Sawyer's strategic choices and Slurpuff's agility kept Max on his toes, presenting him with an unexpected challenge. Despite the tough fight, Slurpuff emerged victorious, securing a hard-earned triumph with a shocking display of Flamethrower.
"Since when can Slurpuff learn Flamethrower?!" Clemont asked shocked.
"It is not a common move used by them, but they can learn it," Diantha replied, just as surprised as we were. "Smart move. Variety is a must, especially when battling a pure fairy battle. But why did he not just send out Aegislash? That would have secured his victory for sure."
"Because Max could end up sending his Pyroar in return," Lucario commented. "Just like he just did."
Max wasn't one to be deterred. With resilience and determination, he swiftly switched out Florges for his fiery Pyroar. I watched as Max unleashed Pyroar's fierce flames, determined to avenge Florges' defeat. Pyroar's fiery mane blazed with intensity as he roared into action. The battlefield trembled with the force of his powerful Fire-type moves, creating a scorching aura that engulfed the area. I couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement as Pyroar's fiery attacks closed in on Slurpuff.
"Charizard went all out on Pyroar's training," Ash winced as Slurpuff fell under an Overheat-Thunder Fang combination attack. "You are tight Gary, they are not holding back at all." A slow maniac smile spread through his lips. "This is great!"
I slowly shifted away from the couple, because once Ash gets high in battle spirit... well, it's better if I don't go into that.
"You are up next, Clawtizer!" Sawyer made a tactical move, sending out his powerful Water-type.
"Come back, Pyroar! Good job!" Max swiftly recalled his Pyroar and called upon the strength of his Alolan Raichu.
"Dragon Pulse!" Sawyer commanded, not giving up, even with the type-disadvantage.
"Return it with Psychic!" Max countered. My eyes widened as the Dragon Pulse was enveloped with a pink psychic force, before returning it back to Clawtizer. When did Max and Alolan Raichu learn to do that?! "Now Thunder!"
I winced as Clawtizer received the full attack of a powerful Thunder, especially of one trained by Ash's Pikachu. That must have hurt like a bitch!
But Clawtizer was not giving up that easily, he continued to send the combined attack of Dark Pulse and Smack Down, trying to take Alolan Raichu down. However, Max strategized on the fly, utilizing Alolan Raichu's diverse move set to gain an advantage. Alolan Raichu pratically surfed through the air, as the attacks missed him one after the other. Max then commanded Alolan Raichu to utilize Thunderbolt, aiming to exploit Clawitzer's vulnerability to Electric-type attacks again. Sparks crackled in the air as the powerful bolt of electricity shot toward Clawitzer, but the resilient pokemon managed to endure the attack and retaliated with a mighty Aura Sphere- which struck Alolan Raichu, bringing him down the air.
"Aura Sphere now?!" I exclaimed. "Ash is right, Max has good eyes to recognize talent. Who would have thought a Clawtizer was capable of learning that move?"
With unwavering determination, Max commanded Alolan Raichu to unleash Volt Tackle. As the battlefield crackled with electrifying energy, I watched in awe as Alolan Raichu summoned his inner strength. The attack surged forth, a mighty wave of electrifying power aimed directly at Clawitzer. However, Clawitzer proved to be a formidable opponent, responding with a powerful Aqua Jet that collided with the electrified wave. The clash of forces created a dazzling explosion that sent shockwaves rippling through the battlefield. My heart pounded with anticipation as the dust settled, waiting for the outcome.
When the smoke cleared, it was revealed that both Alolan Raichu and Clawitzer had given their all in the exchange. They stood resolute, but it was clear that they had reached their limits. The battle ended in a hard-fought double knockout. The crowd erupted into applause, recognizing the incredible display of skill and determination from both trainers and their pokemon.
"Color me impressed!" Gary smirked. "I will never let Max live it, his Electric-type pokemon lost against a Water-type! Ha! This is hilarious!"
"Be nice, Gary," Ash sighed, but I could see him trying to hold back a smile.
As Sawyer sent out his formidable Slaking, Max swiftly made a strategic decision, calling upon the strength of his Meganium. The battle reached a critical point, and the tension in the arena was palpable.
"Meganium? Why not Pidgeot who has an advantage?" Bonnie asked confused.
Slaking, known for its immense power but sluggish nature, wasted no time in launching a fierce assault. His devastating attacks shook the battlefield, testing Meganium's resilience and Max's strategic prowess. Meganium, a paragon of grace and serenity, responded with a combination of agile movements and powerful Grass-type moves- Petall Blizzard and Energy Ball.
"The Slakoth line is one Max's father specializes on," Ash answered, looking at the battlefield with a frown. "They are a trciky line to handle, Max knows it all too well. Which is why he is mostly using one of his strongest pokemon, even if Meganium is neutral against Slaking, to weaken him and then take him out using Pidgeot."
Ash's deduction ended up becoming true. Slaking's overwhelming strength and Meganium's graceful finesse created a striking contrast on the battlefield. Max commanded Meganium with precision, carefully considering each move to gain an advantage. However, Slaking's raw power proved to be a formidable challenge. Meganium's petals glowed with radiant energy as Max instructed him to use Reflect. The shimmering barrier enveloped Meganium, providing a temporary defense against Slaking's onslaught. Slaking, frustrated by the resilient defense, unleashed a flurry of powerful blows, aiming to break through Meganium's defenses. Max urged Meganium to leverage his connection with nature to unleash a devastating Solar Beam.
"When did he learn to do that?" Ash wondered with a smirk, looking up to the sky. There shinning brightly was the use of Sunny Day. "The closer you look, the less you see. If I have you focus seeing something, it's because I am doing something else, elsewhere." Ash chuckled. "It seems that Max has finally learned the timing for that combo."
However, that trick was not enough to take down Slaking. The clash of titans intensified, with each pokemon pushing their limits. The ground shook with the impact of their attacks, creating a spectacle that held the crowd in awe. I could feel the intensity of the battle, the determination and perseverance radiating from both sides. Despite Meganium's valiant efforts, Slaking's overwhelming strength eventually took its toll. My heart sank as Meganium succumbed to Slaking's relentless assault, forcing Max to recall his fainted Meganium, acknowledging his unwavering dedication and strength, and sent out his trusty Pidgeot to finish the battle.
Pidgeot took flight with a burst of energy, soaring above the battlefield. My eyes sparkled with anticipation, knowing that this would be the moment that determined the outcome. Pidgeot swiftly dodged Slaking's heavy-hitting attacks, utilizing his speed and agility to his advantage. Max commanded Pidgeot to unleash a barrage of powerful aerial assaults, peppering Slaking with Razor Winds and Aerial Aces. The battle reached its climax soon, as Slaking, despite his immense power, started to show signs of fatigue from the relentless assault- too weakened by his battle against Meganium. The arena echoed with the roars of the crowd, their excitement matching my own.
Max seized the opportunity, instructing Pidgeot to launch a final devastating attack. Pidgeot unleashed a stunning Brave Bird, soaring through the air with unparalleled force and striking Slaking with unwavering precision. The crowd held its breath as the impact of the attack reverberated through the battlefield. Slaking staggered, his strength finally waning. With one last valiant effort, Slaking collapsed, defeated by Pidgeot's relentless determination. As the crowd erupted into thunderous applause.
"He did it! Now Sawyer only has one pokemon left!" Bonnie cheered, as she skipped around the room- looking quite adorable if I am being honest.
"Aegislash, you are last! Do your best!" Sawyer called out to his Steel-type.
"Well done Pidgeot! Rest now!" Max returned his Flying-type, we all knew what was next. "Pyroar, you are up! Let's win this!"
Sawyer's determined voice broke the tension. "Aegislash, let's give it our all! Use Head Smash!" He commanded, hoping to catch Pyroar off guard with a powerful Rock-type move.
Max, his eyes filled with determination, responded with confidence. "Pyroar, show them your fiery spirit! Dodge and counter with Flamethrower!"
Aegislash swiftly lunged forward, but Pyroar, nimble and agile, evaded the attack with a well-timed leap, showcasing his feline speed and grace. Taking advantage of the opening, Pyroar unleashed a scorching Flamethrower, engulfing Aegislash in a torrent of intense flames.
Sawyer gritted his teeth, unwilling to give up. "Aegislash, switch tactics! Use Sacred Sword!" He shouted, hoping that a Fighting-type move would break through Pyroar's defenses.
Max remained unfazed, his confidence unwavering. "Pyroar, show them your strength! Counter with Dark Pulse!"
Aegislash charged forward, his spectral form shimmering with determination. However, Pyroar released a powerful shockwave of darkness, his Dark Pulse reverberating through the battlefield. The impact was overwhelming, shaking Aegislash to his core and forcing him back, weakened and vulnerable.
Sawyer's face contorted with frustration, he was starting to come apart. It was at that moment that Max's experience was clear and giving him an edge against Sawyer. Still, he refused to back down. "Aegislash, keep fighting! Use Night Slash!" He commanded, hoping that a potent Dark-type move would turn the tides in their favor... but it won't be enough against Max.
Max's expression mirrored his opponent's determination. "Pyroar, don't let up! Counter with Fire Blast!" He shouted, believing in Pyroar's fiery prowess.
Aegislash gathered his energy, summoning a concentrated beam of dark energy to blast towards Pyroar. But Pyroar responded in kind, unleashing a powerful inferno of flames that collided with the Night Slash head-on. The clash was fierce, a testament to the battling prowess of both trainers. The battlefield was engulfed in a dazzling display of fire and dark, the contrasting elements vying for dominance. The intensity of the battle was palpable, each move carrying the weight of their trainers' hopes and dreams.
In the end, Pyroar's Fire Blast proved overwhelming. The searing flames engulfed Aegislash, leaving it weakened and unable to continue the fight. The crowd erupted in cheers, celebrating Max's hard-earned victory.
"He did it! He did it! He did it! Hey!" Bonnie cheered and danced in celebration, as we all laughed.
Sawyer, though disappointed, extended a hand in a gesture of sportsmanship. "Great battle, Max. Your Pyroar is amazing," he said, with a hint of admiration in his voice.
Max, a grin spreading across his face, shook Sawyer's hand firmly. "Thanks, Sawyer. You gave it your all too. Let's keep pushing ourselves and become even stronger!" He replied, his youthful spirit shining through.
The battle may have been tough, but the camaraderie between the trainers was evident. Their friendship and rivarly was not over yet, it has only just began!
"Well we better get going," Ash spoke up, standing up. He had tears rolling down his cheeks, his pride clear on his beaming smile. "We have a winning ceremony to attend to."
We all followed Ash out of the VIP box, parting ways with him and Champion Diantha halfway through. I stood among the spectators, with all of my friends, and felt a surge of pride welling up within him. The journey he had witnessed Max undertake, the battles he had fought, and the growth he had achieved—it was a testament to the strength and determination of a true Pokemon Trainer. With each victory, Max had carved his path to this moment, standing on the precipice of becoming a champion.
The winning ceremony began, and the air was thick with anticipation. The grand stage shimmered with an aura of celebration and accomplishment. As the spotlight focused on Max, his face radiated a mix of overwhelming happiness and disbelief. The magnitude of his achievement had taken hold of him, and he trembled with excitement. Champion Diantha, with her regal presence, stepped forward to address the crowd. Her voice carried the weight of authority and respect as she praised Max's remarkable journey and acknowledged his triumphant victory. As the winner of a Pokemon League Conference, Champion Diantha awarded Max with a prize: a Banettite. The audience erupted into applause once more, a chorus of cheers and congratulations filling the air.
I watched as Ash, Max's steadfast friend and mentor, was called onto the stage by Champion Diantha. There was a profound sense of camaraderie and admiration between the two trainers. Ash's beaming smile reflected the pride he felt for Max, as he presented him with the gleaming trophy, a symbol of his hard-earned victory. As Max accepted the trophy, his hands shook with emotion. The weight of the moment settled upon him, and his eyes glistened with tears of joy. The realization that he had achieved his dream, standing before a sea of adoring fans as the Lumiose Conference Champion, overwhelmed him.
I, caught up in the atmosphere of triumph, felt a surge of joy and satisfaction deep within my heart. Seeing Max's unwavering determination, his growth as a trainer, and the pure happiness radiating from him, I couldn't help but share in the elation of this momentous occasion. The confetti rained down, painting the scene in a shower of vibrant colors, as the crowd erupted once more into resounding applause. It was a celebration of dreams realized, friendships forged, and the indomitable spirit of pokemon trainers who had embarked on an extraordinary journey.
My heart swelled with pride for Max, for the remarkable achievement he had attained. In this moment, the Lumiose Conference crowned its new champion, and I was grateful to have been a witness to such a remarkable triumph.
