I only owe my character, Lea Thompson aka Midnight Hope, and her family members mentioned. Along with the Fitzpatrick Sisters, Tina and Amy, plus Silvania the Ectonurite. The rest of the characters belong to their respective owners that belong to Green Lantern Animated, Young Justice: Phantoms, and Ben 10 Omniverse.
Also, before getting ahead, it is important that I repeat making this message to certain people questioning if Alvaxerox and I are going to copy some events from the Green Lantern comics. Just because certain things happened in the series does not mean there are going to be there. Fan fiction is all about creating new ideas and paths. What we got in store is somewhat of a theory that I've been thinking of being plausible. So, please, don't bother me on that subject again!
Enjoy and no flamed reviews nor fake advertised ones, please.
My name is Lea Thompson. For those of you who don't know, I'm a Blue Lantern under the name Midnight Hope. My Green Lantern partner, Hal Jordan, have been through a lot together. Even the ones where we weren't.
Anyway, as you all probably read in the last story or forgot, Hal and the other adult Lanterns have discovered not only my uncle Kyle Rayner being alive, but Ex-Guardian of Oa, Scar, is making a dark prophecy happen. The Blackest Night prophecy, to be exact.
We thought that white light hitting Earth was Scar's doing to end all life as we know it...but we learned the hard way that it wasn't the case. And because of that...people have disappeared, including myself. People that I know. My cousins the Fitzpatrick Sisters and my boyfriend Ben Tennyson.
And Hal...he decided to go to one other head of alien activity that can help what had happened to us...along with a few more individuals they don't know about yet.
On Earth, Hal and Max Tennyson, Ben's grandfather, were inside the Rustbucket and Max scanned Coast City to see if any other individuals disappeared with the flash of white light other than his grandson…and Lea's cousins.
"It's true. The light made Ben disappear." Max said. "And you said Lea disappeared, as well, right?"
"Yes. I saw it with my own eyes. I tried catching her, but she went right through me like a ghost before vanishing," Hal said, folding his arms while calming down.
"The same happened to me and I tried to hold onto my grandson when reaching to him. Ben vanished into thin air. Even my artificial arm couldn't hold him. But it's not just those two who disappeared." Max said. "Two other girls were with Ben looking for Lea."
"I know...Tina and Amy Fitzpatrick. AKA Lea's cousins," Hal replied, recalling Max's description while bringing up the files of who vanished. "That's two more members in Lea's family gone MIA. I had to come up with a quick lie to both parents that they're at my place having a sleepover in order to avoid a panic."
"I had to do the same with Ben's parents. Unfortunately, my granddaughter, Gwen, wouldn't believe the lie this time." Max said. "Anyways, the flash came from space, right?"
"That's right. And when I felt that white energy...it didn't feel like death. It was like similar energy to my Green Lantern ring whenever recharging it with the Lantern battery," Hal explained.
"So, it felt like recharging everyone's Lantern rings?" Max asked. "Because if so, it shouldn't have gotten Lea."
"Exactly. It doesn't make any sense," Hal groaned, getting impatient. "Whether it was part of Scar's Blackest Night prophecy or not, I still couldn't protect Lea. I just wish we knew what's become of the poor kid now as much as the others."
"Hello? Is any Plumbers listening?" Called a voice from the Plumbers communicator. "This is Fro'Gieon. I have an emergency!"
Max got the message from his monitor. "Fro'Gieon, this is Max Tennyson. What's wrong?" he asked.
"One of my children has disappeared during a strange white solar flare!" Fro'Gieon exclaimed. "I cannot find Little Chill!"
"What?" Max asked. "The same thing happened on Earth, too. A white flash made four humans disappear. Little Chill may have disappeared with the flash, too."
"Not good. The weird part is that white flash did nothing and I saw an odd glow around Little Chill before disappearing," Fro'Gieon explained. "Lately, he's been asking to go to Odym long before this. I'm already flying there to see if he went in that direction. I also wanted to call if he was on Earth instead, just in case."
"No, he wasn't. If he was, my grandson would tell me." Max replied. "Keep us posted if you find him by chance."
"I will. Hope you find the other four who went missing," Fro'Gieon said, ending the call.
"Hal! Are you in there?" Called a female voice and knock outside the Rustbucket.
"Carol! John. Guy." Hal noticed, opening the door to see the other Lanterns. "Sorry I left you guys."
"We forgive you, Hal," Carol said, only to look inside the tricked-out vehicle. "Although, of all the places, we didn't expect you to be here."
"And yet, Guy was the one to convince us to be here," John said, who was equally surprised.
"I told you guys he would be here," Guy Gardner stated, noticing Max and waving at him. "Hey, Magister Tennyson! Long time no see!"
Hal looked confused, already coming out. "Uh... Max, you knew Guy?"
"No, never. But that tone does sound familiar." Max said, following Hal outside the Rustbucket.
"Did you find any news about Lea, her cousins, and Ben?" Guy asked, sounding concerned. "I figured if anyone could find them, it'd be the head Magister of the Plumbers."
"Okay. How do you know all that, Guy?" Carol asked, folding her arms.
"And since when did you start feeling this concerned about Lea and the others?" John questioned, knowing something is up.
"Can't someone like me help out a Lantern like Hal in such a dark hour? He's been through enough stress," Guy defended, already hugging an off-guard Hal. "Don't worry, buddy. It's not your fault."
Hal looked closely at Guy, after getting out of his hugging hold. He then realized the truth. "That's not Guy. He doesn't talk nor act like that."
"I agree. Guy is way too full of himself to even say that to Hal," Carol stated. "Let alone hug him."
"Oh, really? Then how about this?" Guy asked with a smirk, already flexing his muscles. "Hello~! The name's Guy Gardner. But you can call me Thor Buttocks, due to my gluts of steel way sterner than the Man of Steel himself."
Max couldn't help but smirk a little while holding a laugh, causing the others to look at him. "Sorry, I can't help myself."
Guy kept a straight face for a few seconds until laughing and lowering down. "I'm sorry...I just can't...I did that for you, Hal."
Hal then giggled a little. "That is pretty funny."
"Okay...You're clearly not Guy," John stated, thinking this is too weird. "Who are you really?"
"Hal and Carol should know as much as Max," Guy replied. "And this matters to me because Lea and Ben saved my life...Or is it afterlife? I have no idea. Even I'm still unsure how all this works with my kind."
Carol then understood. "Oh, now I remember. Come on out, Silvania."
"Silvania?" John Stewart asked.
"You're about to find out," Hal said, smirking at this. "Also...don't freak out about what Lantern she is."
On cue, a familiar ghost alien came out of Guy to reveal her Yellow Lantern attire. "Hi, everyone!" she replied happily, waving her clawed hand.
"She's a Yellow Lantern like Sinestro?" John asked, stepping back cautiously to charge his ring.
"Relax. She's on our side," Hal assured. "Silvania doesn't believe in Sinestro's cause and only uses her powers in a good light."
"Henceforth, in my Lantern form, you may call me...Scream Light!" Silvania said with excitement, her arms up in the air. "What do you think?"
"I guess that makes sense," Carol said. "With you being a ghost and all."
Guy groaned when getting his senses back. "Ohhhh, man...What happened?"
"Let's just say... You weren't yourself, which is less than we expected." John added.
"How so?" Guy asked, only to turn his head to see Silvania up close with a creepy smile and backed up quickly. "Yellow Lantern ghost!" he exclaimed, charging his ring to point at her.
"Where?" Silvania asked, turning around to see what Guy is talking about. "Oh...right."
As Guy was trying to shoot his green energy, Hal blocked it with a shield protecting Silvania. "Gardner, calm down! She's on our side!"
"Really? The creepy ghost girl is on our side? Guy asked, having a hard time believing this.
"Yes. And thank you for the compliment," Silvania said, giggling cutely. "I'm not even in my true form to express my actual scary side."
"It's best no one sees it," Max said. "Ectonurites are very creepy when they show what they truly look like."
"I should know. I scared the confetti out of that evil zombie clown guy who kept me prisoner as a fear battery," Silvania replied, happily honest and proud.
"I take it he was not the Joker?" Guy assumed.
"Nope. Different evil clown." Hal added
"We'll talk about that later. Right now, we need to know what that white blast was that's done to Ben and everyone else." Max reminded.
"White blast? Is that what brought me from here to Qward with all the other Yellow Lanterns less than an hour ago?" Silvania asked.
"Wait, the flash got you, too?" Hal asked.
"And Dex-Starr, apparently," Silvania said. "Oddly enough, I thought it was me practicing my portal slashing at some abandoned warehouse connected to a shortcut tunnel to my home. Anyway, I ended up in Qward where Dex ended up in Ysmault full of other Red Lanterns. I saw him playing with some round Red Lantern guy the way he played with a yarn ball."
"Round Red Lantern guy?" Hal remembered who was Silvania was talking about. "That's Zilius Zox, he's in charge of the corps after I defeated Atrocitus years ago."
"Well, Dex-Starr was having a serious brawl with him," Silvania stated, unable to hold back her giggles. "It was actually funny to watch. Then, I grabbed Dex and got us back here on Earth in New Phaetos where my best friend Scaraline is keeping an eye on him. That's when I overheard your Lantern friends look for you, Hal. Along with the news that Lea, her cousins, and Ben were missing. I figured you'd probably be at Magister Tennyson's Rust Bucket for help and decided to overshadow Guy to lead the way."
"Yeah, that was not funny to me, Ghost Freakette," Guy exclaimed with an insult.
"Hold on. So that white blast sent you and Dex to your own home planet Corps?" Carol questioned, curiously.
"That would be the case," Silvania shrugged.
Hal then figured out the conspiracy. "If Silvania was sent to Qward, and Dex-Starr to Ysmault...then that means the others who vanished..."
"Might be located in the other Corp home planets," John stated.
"Well, at least, we know what happened to Midnight Hope," Carol stated, realizing she must be at Odym safe and sound. "What about the others?"
"Fro'Gieon said his kid, Little Chill, had an odd color glowing when the white flash took him away," Max said.
"Did he mention what color?" John asked.
"No. Not really," Hal said, looking at Max. "Better call Fro'Gieon on what color it was."
"Good idea. I'll go and call him back." Max said, rushing back into his Rustbusket.
"Okay, so Silvania would glow yellow, Dex-Starr being the same with red. Lea may have been glowed blue when she vanished, so she probably safe in Odym. So, Ben, Tina, and Amy may have different spectrum colors. But which ones?" Hal asked.
"Were they not Lanterns before?" Silvania asked.
"No, never." Hal said. "Ben was a rookie plumber like his grandpa."
"Plumber?" John asked.
"Not that kind. Its what they call their alien task squad force or whatever." Hal said. "Its like what you, me, and Guy do."
"While Lea's cousins are unique in their own interests. One with a passion for fashion and the other making self-defense weapons while being bluntly honest in the conversation," Carol stated, remembering the two girls well during Family Dinner night.
Just then Max ran back to the lanterns. "Fro'Gieon replied to my message. He said Little Chill's glow was orange." He said.
"Orange? ...Oh, no," Hal groaned, facepalming.
"Which one are Orange Lanterns again?" Silvania asked, trying to think.
"Avarice." John said to the ghost girl. "It's basically greed."
"Ohhhhhh. Right...The same planet Hal became an Orange Lantern and freaked Lea out to a point of having reoccurring nightmares about it," Silvania recalled.
Hal crossed his arms. "I don't like talking about it."
"So, if Little Chill is at the home planet of the Orange Lantern Corp... Then would that mean one of the other missing kids is at Oa and Zamaron?" Guy asked, trying to understand.
"That is a high probability," Carol said. "The sisters could be on Zamaron, and maybe Ben could be on Oa."
"Guy, Hal, and I can reach Oa and see if Ben is there," John suggested.
"But doesn't there need to be one Green Lantern on Earth to stay and protect?" Silvania questioned, recalling this from Lea once. "Or am I misinterpreting this?"
"Yeah, you're right," Hal said. "Me and Guy are Honor Guard, so John can stay behind."
"And I'll go to Zamaron to look for the girls," Carol stated, using her ring to make a portal for herself. "Hopefully, they're not in too much of a panic."
Max then turned to Guy and Ben. "If you find my grandson. Notify me."
"We will. Just keep sharp," Hal said, and he and Guy excited the Rustbucket.
"Good luck everyone. I hope you find them." Max said.
And so, the following Lanterns separated in search of the missing indicates.
However, little did they know that they were being watched by a certain Indigo Lantern who was aware of the bizarre white blast phenomenon.
To Be Continued…
Just to be clear, I wanted to add some hilarious humor in there to ease the tension of what's happening. Let me know if that worked for you guys a little. Enjoy. ;D
