I'm back! Did y'all miss me?

*goes back through my timeline, chuckles nervously* I messed up my timeline REALLY bad. Doing my math actually right, I'd have them entering high school a year early, and realizing that All Might is ten years older than I accounted for...Shigaraki is ten years YOUNGER, but I have a way around that one (kind of). So...yeah. I have twenty years of time to try to explain my way through with Shigaraki if I want to have my story line add up. Plus that high school thing, which I think I can do, and the ten extra years that All Might had OFA that I didn't explain. Wish me luck!

I will be skipping around in time to (hopefully) make the time easier with entering middle school, and I want to get to the big part of the fic: high school!

Here we go!

The next year was...interesting. And honestly kind of scary.

Hex and Paz would often have random bruises and wounds appear on them, but they were always quick to assure the other Sides that they didn't feel the pain (usually Odin, who was constantly worrying over everyone, and the younger Sides had started depending on her as their Mom-Hinata was almost always with her, asking a bunch of questions that Odin would gladly answer.)

Hinata was adjusting really well to having a new family. Everyone was so nice to them (a little wary on days, but Hinata expected that, honestly, after hearing about Dave. If anything, everyone was way less wary around them than they should be after that whole situation.)

Izuku did check ups on Dave every so often. Thankfully, the area was still avoided, but this situation was far from permanent-Izuku just had to find a way to trap him somewhere without putting himself in more danger-hopefully a deserted island somewhere. Yumio was often using Izuku's computer to research different kinds of quirks that Yui could copy that might be able to help them, but he was coming up empty. Sure, the area was abandoned and often thought of as cursed in general, but it was only a matter of time before some unfortunate construction company would be brought in to restore the place, so they needed a good solution before that happened.

Kacchan and Hitoshi were doing great in school! Izuku was upset that he couldn't go to school with them (honestly, all of them were), but good news was that Mrs. Shinsou had officially adopted Hitoshi (Izuku was still wary of Hito-chan, but since he was so used to Kacchan, that came naturally now that Dave was gone)! Hisashi had taken the two families out for dinner when he heard about it, the Bakugous tagging along (Auntie Mitzuki had refused when Hisashi offered to pay for them, saying that their family was really well off and didn't need the help, and it was better than making the single father pay for MORE people, although Hisashi had insisted that it was fine.) (Mrs. Shinsou had just stared as the two bickered, Uncle Masaru just sighing, used to their antics at this point.) Even though they didn't go to school together (or, well, Izuku didn't, but Hitoshi and Kacchan went to the same middle school), they tried to meet up at least three times a week, Izuku often helping the other two with homework (or, well, Yumio would try, but Kacchan would wave him off, saying that he didn't need help from the Logan wannabe-Izuku had showed them Sanders Sides-while Hitoshi usually understood everything, but would go to Yumio if he needed the help, but it was the thought that counts!) But, of course, that didn't mean that some other interesting stuff didn't happen all around…

.

"Ow!"

Final Day Pain.

Izuku had known that Paz and Hex's Final Day was coming for a while now, and since he didn't know how that could affect the Mind Palace, he had told Hisashi that he was staying with them the whole day to make sure they were alright.

At that moment, Hex was rubbing their arms, bleeding cuts appearing as Odin gave the Dark Side a hug, Yui doing the same to Paz, who was rubbing his arms, blood appearing as he winced.

"Do you need me to grab anything?" Dasu asked anxiously (lol). "Food, blankets, something for comfort?"

"If you need objects for comfort, just remember that we will have to wash the blood off them later," Yumio reminded gently. "Speaking of, I will go grab bandages and more towels." With that, he left the room.

Hinata bit their lip, then carefully climbed into Hex's lap-the Non-binary Sides had all grown really close. Hex gave Hinata a soft smile, then squeezed them and groaned in pain.

"F-Food sounds nice, but-ack!-I don't think I could keep anything down-ow!" Hex cried.

"Same...here…" Paz said, his eyes drooping. "T-Two minutes."

Two minutes until death.

"Um...how did you guys die, again?" Hinata asked quietly.

Everyone paused-nobody actually knew how to ask without being rude...but, of course, six-year-old Hinata didn't really understand that as well as the others.

Hex and Paz exchanged a look after a minute, then Paz opened his mouth-

"Stop!" Paz-no, this is the past, Collin-yelled, trying to shield his sister-no, sibling-from their angry father, who just slapped him away, their mother angrily running a knife on his hand.

"Freak," their mother hissed as their father stomped on Hex's-no, Kimi's-hand, the poor child screaming as their hand was crushed.

"Shut up!" their father yelled as both their visions grew even blurrier, and Collin realized that this was it. Kimi was going to die, and he would, too.

Would this be different if they'd been born with quirks? Kimi wondered. If Collin and I had quirks, would this all be different? Would we all be sitting in the living room instead, would mother and father be supporting me? I...wish…

I...wish… Collin thought at the same time, the world becoming black.

I wish I just had a quirk, then maybe this would be different…

And everything went dark and felt...light.

Everyone in the Mind Palace had tears streaming down their cheeks.

"Year checkpoint has been reached, and with it comes a power up," the voice said as Hex and Paz began to glow. "With the others, this would mean a power up of their own quirks, but as Hex and Paz do not have any, this power up will be a little...different." Hex's glow changed to concentrate around their hands and back, taking shape-Paz's glow did the same-

A quiver of arrows appeared on Hex's back, a bow in their hands. Dual swords appeared in Paz's hands, a shield on his back.

"These weapons cannot be broken or lost, always returning whenever the two want them," the voice said as everyone gaped at the two. "These weapons can be summoned from any location. There are no arrows in Hex's quiver, but when they reach back for them, there will always be an arrow waiting. As for Paz's shield, it can grow and change to protect a large group of people if need be. Use them well, use them wisely." (Two points if you get that reference.)

Everything was quiet for a split second…

Then Paz grinned.

"Well, fights are going to be great-so I'm short range, Hex is long range?" he asked.

"Perfect-I get to fight from afar," Hex said with a small smile.

"Woo!" Izuku said happily. "Two more fighting types!"

"Huh?" Hinata asked.

"Oh, not all of us can comfortably be on a battlefield," Yumio explained. "While non-physical type quirks are still amazing, few of us have the proper training to actually fight alongside Izuku as a pro hero, and there certainly isn't a need for all of us, so we have divided ourselves into the strategists, the front fighters, and the situation ones."

"Oh," Hinata said. "Who's what?"

"Odin, Yui, Dasu, Duke, Brazen, and now Paz and Hex are the front fighters alongside Izuku," Yumio said.

"We'll do most of the fighting, take out as many people as we can with help from the strategists and as the situation calls, everyone else, too," Brazen said

"I am the main strategist, with Emory and Kamari," Yumio said. "But, included in the strategists is infiltration, which is mainly Darnell-he can fully shift into a snake, as we ultimately learned, which will be incredibly useful, but Cheran is also with us for... intimidation."

"Not a pleasure to be helpful," Darnell said.

Cheran looked smug. "You haven't seen it yet, but I have a full-on demon looking form. I don't use it often, but I like to think it's terrifying."

"Otherwise, it goes as the situation calls," Yumio said. "Likely, you will be the most useful when it comes to indoor fights."

"Oh," Hinata said. "That sounds fun!"

"Very!" Dasu said. "Of course, in different situations, others can fight, too, or we might not fight, but that's our main plan right now."

"And now we get to fight, too!" Paz said, carefully setting his sword down, then he paused and looked behind him at his shield. "Oh, sweet, this shield has sheaths for my swords!" He brought his swords up, and Yui immediately stood and helped guide the swords into the sheaths. Meanwhile, Hex just put their bow around them, careful of their quiver.

"We can learn how to use these properly later...um...mom, mind being there with me for target practice?" Hex asked, looking at Odin, who nodded eagerly.

"Of course!" Odin said, looking at Dasu. "There's training space in the Imagination, right?"

"Of course-Duke and I go there all the time-he can help you two learn how to fight with weapons," Dasu said.

"Hey, don't make promises for me-but yes, I will help you two," Duke said. "Had to learn to use all the weapons I can create, so it's no problem for me to help you two."

"Sweet-thank you!" Paz said.

"For now, I'm gonna make food for all of us-Izuku, wanna go tell Hisashi what happened?" Odin asked, carefully standing up.

Izuku nodded. "I'll be back in a few minutes...or not, I should probably get some food with Dad. I'll be back soon, though, promise." With that, he left the Mind Palace, slowly opening his eyes as Odin went to make food, Yui tagging along to help.

Izuku yawned, standing up and making his way to the living room, where Hisashi was watching t.v.

"Hey, Dad," Izuku said, making Hisashi jump and turn around.

"You're awake!" Hisashi said, getting up and hugging Izuku. "You ok, Izuku?"

Izuku nodded. "Hex and Paz got weapons! Hex has a bow and arrows, and Paz has two swords and a shield!"

"That's awesome!" Hisashi said. "Can't wait to see what those two do."

Izuku nodded happily. "Yeah!"

..

Of course, it wasn't long before Hirah's year began, Yuki's year beginning two months later, but both were fine for most of it, having been part of nicer families than Paz and Hex.

Duke would help the two twins out with learning their weapons.

At some point, everyone started calling Odin "Mom," which had the caring Side beaming with pride.

..

Cheran, Midori, and Hope were just walking along with their parents that day.

"So I was like, 'seriously, are you sure you know what you're doing?'" Cheran was saying, then she glanced at Midori, who was jogging in place as she kept up with the group. Cheran sighed. "Midori!"

"Just have so much energy, you know?" Midori asked.

Hope sighed, rubbing her eyes. "I'm tired…"

Midori's mom carefully picked Hope up, letting the young girl bury her head in her shoulder. "We're heading home now, Hope, but you need to stop this-before long, you'll be too big for me to pick up!"

"I can give her piggy back rides!" Midori said happily. "Get in that strength training!"

Midori's mom sighed. "You shouldn't encourage this, Midori. Hope is just lazy."

Her quirk literally makes others sleep and has her sleepy as a side effect, you can't blame her for that, Cheran thought, rolling her eyes-

There was a scream, and all of them looked up to see a building falling.

The group instantly started to run, but Midori's mom lost her grip on Hope, so Cheran and Midori stopped and reached for Hope-

The building fell on all three, killing them instantly.

.

Odin hugged Dot and Yuki close as Yui hugged Hirah, the three crying at the memory.

"Our parents survived," Yuki said quietly-this was the least energetic anyone had ever seen her. It was...weird. "But they didn't go to our funerals-they had still been in the hospital, but you know the whole thing about funerals for victims of villain attacks."

"A big ceremony two weeks later," Odin said, a wave of care going through the Mind Palace. "I've been to way too many of those."

"And we will have to attend even more," Yumio said. "Statistically, large-scale villain attacks do not end without some kind of casualty."

"But we're gonna do our absolute best to make sure we save as many lives as we can," Izuku said, looking around at everyone. "R-Right?"

Everyone nodded, and Odin smiled.

"There's seventeen of us, and we still haven't gone to school yet-with other heroes on the scene, we should be able to lower casualties by a large amount," Odin said. "The more heroes on a scene, the less casualties there tends to be."

"Would we all be considered heroes, though?" Hinata asked, tilting their head to the side.

"We're part of Izuku's quirk, so…technically," Odin said. "Familiar quirks aren't all that common, but since we're Izuku's familiars, to put it simply, we're part of his quirk, so as long as he gets a license, we're good to go."

"That's good," Yui said. "I can't wait to see what happens!"

Izuku smiled. "Yeah. No matter what, as long as I have you guys by my side-"

"Hehe, Side," Brazen snickered.

Dasu snorted, but still reached over and hit him upside the head. "Good pun, but not the time."

"Uh!" Brazen said, pretending to be offended. "It's always time for puns!"

"...life's gonna be good," Izuku said softly.

Yui smiled at him, then pulled him to her side so she was hugging both him and Hirah.

That's all, folks! (two points if you get the reference)

I'm sorry I haven't updated in so long. Stuff just kinda started happening, and…yeah.

So, this was skipping through time, so next, I'm going to stop while they're in third year of middle school. Who are we gonna meet? :) Also, gonna say this now, I'm gonna do something weird with what All Might has left of the quirk because I got an idea at, like, 3 am one time, laughed really hard, woke up later that day for school, still thought it would be a good idea, and now I can't imagine it any other way.

You'll see what I mean…next time I update, and by now, you all know that my update schedule is all over the place. I could probably try to find some kind of update schedule, but I'd never stick to it. And I should probably try to update the two fanfictions on my OTHER account that I haven't even opened since, like, Summer of 2020 at least…
