Existence. That's weird.
I have returned! And I am binge-watching Steven Universe for some reason. I don't know why, but I just sat down and binge-watched all five seasons of Steven Universe original (never been a big fan of Future myself, tbh.)
Anywho! Here we go!
"Alright, so this is our class."
Toshi, Kacchan, Izuku, and Shoto all stood in front of the 1-A door-they had arrived early together, and Shoto had helped Izuku tie his tie (apparently Hisashi had never been good at tying his tie, and Yumio had been no help with it, stating that he'd just had a clip-on tie (because I find the concept that Izuku can't tie a tie right amazing and don't want to change that-)) while Kacchan had outright refused to even bring his to the meetup point, stating that he didn't need a tie.
Either way. In front of the 1-A door.
"You guys ready?" Toshi asked.
"Tch," Kacchan said. "Of course I am!"
"It's just another classroom," Shoto said.
"Uh…so we know our teacher is Shota Aizawa, so Aizawa-sensei," Izuku muttered.
"How do you even know that?" Shoto asked.
"Brazen," Izuku said.
"...that doesn't make it any clearer," Shoto said.
"Long story, I can tell you later," Izuku said.
"Ok, so…why are you nervous?" Shoto said, giving him an odd look.
"I haven't been in a school since I was, what, ten years old?" Izuku muttered. "I finished elementary and middle school online…this is weird."
"At least you remembered to wear your uniform," Kacchan said.
"That was mostly Odin that helped remind me," Izuku said, hunching in on himself a little bit, but he smiled a little bit-all of his Sides were wearing some kind of version of the UA uniform and had already created a version of the gym uniform as well, but the colors corresponded to their colors instead, so Odin's regular uniform was identical to Izuku's, but Brazen's gym uniform was identical to Izuku's. (Does that make sense? Maybe I should go back and add their colors, I rarely bring them at all…)
"Alright, you guys ready?" Shoto asked.
"I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready…ready as I'll ever be," Izuku sang softly. (two points if you get that reference)
They all chuckled before walking into the classroom-
"Ah, hello!" the blue haired boy from the exam said, walking over to them-
"Tch, can it, Engines," Kacchan said, brushing past him and looking at the board, which had a seating chart. He stared for a few seconds before heading to his desk and sitting down, kicking up his feet.
"What are you-" the blue haired boy started as Yumio appeared in front of Kacchan's desk and pushed his feet down, causing the blue haired boy to jump in surprise.
"Now, now, Katsuki, you know better," Yumio said. "No feet on the desks."
"Geesh, teach, who cares," Kacchan muttered(point if you get the reference), but kept his feet down as Yumio disappeared again.
"W-Who was that?" the blue haired boy asked.
"Oh, part of my quirk," Izuku said, then held out his hand. "Nice to meet you. I'm Izuku Midoriya, but I go by Izuku."
"I'm Tenya Iida," the blue haired boy said.
"Nice to meet you, Iida," Toshi said. "Hitoshi Shinsou, and this is Shoto Todoroki."
"Nice to meet you, Shinsou, Todoroki…I'm sorry, but it would be very rude of me to call you by your first name, would it not be?" Iida asked.
"I've been homeschooled since I was ten, and even before that, my quirk makes my last name more complicated," Izuku said-Midoriya was a collective of all of them, but first names were more specific to who you were talking to. Sure, Aizawa-sensei, as well as all their other teachers, were going to call him by his last name, but he wouldn't have his Sides out in classes and such, so that was more of a collective, but around new friends? That was different.
"...I'm not sure I understand what you mean," Iida said.
You literally just admitted that I was part of your quirk, what else is there to understand? Yumio asked. You'd think he'd understand that-
People don't make connections as fast as you'd think, Yumio, especially about quirks, Odin reminded. He probably isn't thinking about it that much yet.
Izuku shrugged. "You'll see." With that, he went and sat down at his desk, which was right behind Kacchan. Toshi was behind him, and Shoto was behind him.
"One other person in our row, huh?" Odin asked through Izuku, turning to look at the board. "Tooru Hagakure is at the front of the row, I see."
"Yeah, yeah, we get it, Mom, but don't have to state the freaking obvious," Kacchan said.
"I'm…sorry?" Iida asked as some more students walked in.
"Hey, you were the kid with the explosion quirk!" a red-haired boy exclaimed, walking over to Kacchan. "You were really cool at the entrance exam!"
"Tch, of course I was," Kacchan said.
"He means thanks," Yui said through Izuku.
"Oh, stop doing that!" Kacchan snapped.
"No thanks, it's more fun this way," Paz said.
"Uh…what?" the redhead asked.
"Sorry about that," Izuku said. "That's Katsuki Bakugou-"
"I can introduce myself, Izuku!" Kacchan snapped. "Tch. As Izuku said, I'm Katsuki Bakugou."
The boy looked confused, but quickly shook it off. "I'm Eijirou Kirishima!"
He got third place, right? Izuku asked, trying to remember the rankings.
Yep, Yumio said as another student entered the room-
"FUMI!" a shadow bird-thing said, bursting from the student that had a bird head and rushing over to Izuku, who looked surprised but quickly reached out and touched the…quirk, it must've been-a Quirk Conscious, how cool! "He's like us!"
"Dark Shadow-I am so sorry-Dark Shadow, you should know better!" the bird boy said, rushing over and trying to pull Dark Shadow away, but Izuku just waved his hand a little bit.
"No worries-so cool, you were born with your own Quirk Conscious-at least, I think, Dark Shadow looks actually attached to you," Izuku said, brushing Dark Shadow's feathers.
"No quirks in the classroom!" Iida said, walking over as Kacchan glared at the birds.
"I'm sorry," the boy said again.
"Seriously, no worries-and the rule is that Quick Consciousnesses can't be out during actual class time, but since it's before school, it should be fine…right, Mom?" Izuku asked, tilting his head to the side (lol).
"Never had a problem when I was here, but then again, I'm not sure that really counted," Odin mused through Izuku, then looked at Dark Shadow. "It's really interesting, though. Quirk Consciousnesses are rare…it's really nice to meet you!"
"Wait, you have a familiar quirk, too?" the boy asked.
Izuku nodded. "Yep! That was Odin talking, but it's not as impressive as Dark Shadow. Or, well, both are equally impressive, but in different ways. I wasn't born with my Sides, but Dark Shadow looks attached, which usually means that you were born with…him?" (I've heard so many people refer to Dark Shadow with different pronouns and I can't think of a specific location in the manga or anime that has Dark Shadow's, and if I went looking, it would take me so long because of everything I have going on, so for sake of saving my time, if I'm wrong, let me know and I'll go back and edit!)
"Yes," the boy said. "Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Fumikage Tokoyami-may we fight our demons together."
I like him already, Hex said.
'Nice to meet you!" Izuku said. "I'm Izuku Midoriya, but I just go by Izuku because of my quirk."
"Nice to meetcha, Izuku!" Dark Shadow said.
"It is indeed nice to meet you," Tokoyami said.
Izuku smiled as Tokoyami looked at the board, then sat down diagonally from Izuku.
"Familiar quirk?" Iida asked as Dark Shadow disappeared.
Izuku nodded. "Yep!"
"Interesting…I did not see you use a familiar type quirk during the entrance exam," Iida said.
"Oh, I can use the quirks of my Sides-er, familiars," Izuku said. "They're all ghosts that I met and made a contract with, so you saw me using their quirks."
"...oh," Iida said as more students walked in, and he turned to greet them.
He's acting like a Class President, Hirah said.
When we vote for President and Vice, I wanna vote for him, Brazen said.
I love how we've already decided on this and we haven't even met everyone yet, Dasu said.
Let's not cast this theoretical vote before everyone's arrived, Izuku said, looking as more people arrived-soon, the teacher would arrive-
"Hey, Izuku, glad you got in, too!"
Izuku looked up to see Uraraka walk over to him, waving.
"Hi, Uraraka!" Izuku said. "Glad you got in, too!"
"Who?" Toshi asked, leaning forward.
"We met during the entrance exam-I told you that I used Odin's voice quirk to heal her, remember?" Izuku asked.
"Oh, right," Toshi said. "Forgot about that, sorry."
"Well, either way, I'm glad to see you!" Uraraka said. "I can't wait until we're all heroes together!"
Izuku smiled.
….
"Shinsou, right?"
Toshi looked up to see-
"Kaminari, right?" Toshi asked.
The blond boy nodded enthusiastically. "Yep! That's me! I'm glad that you got in."
"Same here-hey, Izuku, Katsuki, Shoto, this is the electric guy I told you about," Toshi said, looking at his friends.
"Oh, hi!" Izuku said.
"Nice to meet you-" Kaminari started.
"If you're just here to talk, get out of my classroom."
Everyone instantly turned their heads to see…a yellow sleeping bag with someone inside (Toshi recognized Eraserhead after a few seconds, Shouta Aizawa, as Izuku had said-it was still so weird that they already knew his name-) drinking from a fruit pouch…well, then.
"Who-" Iida started as Aizawa-sensei stood up from his sleeping bag.
"It took you five seconds to calm down, and I was sitting outside for about thirty-you'll have to work on your situational awareness, but either way, I'm your homeroom teacher, Shouta Aizawa," Aizawa-sensei said, monotone as he walked to the podium and pulled out a large stack of gym uniforms. "Your gym uniforms are marked with your name-go change and meet me at the practice field outside."
Everyone looked around as Izuku stood up and walked over to the podium and grabbed the first gym uniform, looking at the tag.
"Tsuyu Asui," Izuku said, and a girl with green hair got up-she looked like she had a frog quirk, cool.
"Tooru Hagakure," Izuku said, grabbing the next one. A girl with messy black hair walked up.
"Kyouka Jirou," Izuku said, and a girl with purple hair and…those looked like aux cords hanging from her ears, cool, walked up.
"Ochako Uraraka," Izuku said as Uraraka came up.
"Fumikage Tokoyami," Izuku said, and Tokoyami came up.
"Mina Ashido," Izuku said, and a pink girl walked up, saying, "Thanks!"
"This one's mine…Denki Kaminari," Izuku said, putting his uniform to the side as Kaminari came up.
"Yuga Aoyama," Izuku said, handing the uniform to a sparkly blond, who said something in…French?
I'll go learn French later in case this becomes a common occurrence, Yumio said.
Thanks, Yumio, Izuku said.
"Mashirao Ojiro," Izuku said, giving that uniform to another blond boy, but he had a tail (and I would like to point out that if Kirishima was just a little taller, all four blond boys in the class would be in a row when it comes to height, and I find that hilarious.) (Also, yes, I'm going in order of height. Could I do this faster? Yes. Am I just trying to find an excuse to fill space? Also yes. Do I care? No. :)
"Eijirou Kirishima," Izuku said, giving the redhead his uniform.
"Katsuki Bakugou-that was too weird to say," Izuku said, yeeting the uniform at Kacchan, who set off an explosion-"No quirks in the classroom!"
"Moving on, Momo Yaoyorozu," Izuku said, giving the uniform to the tallest girl in class, who had black hair in a high ponytail.
"Shoto," Izuku said simply as Shoto walked up and grabbed his uniform.
"Thanks, Izuku," Shoto said.
"Toshi," Izuku said.
"Thanks," Toshi said as he grabbed his uniform.
"Hanta Sero," Izuku said, and a boy with really big elbows came up and grabbed his uniform.
"Tenya Iida," Izuku said, giving the uniform to Iida.
"Rikido Sato," Izuku said, giving the next uniform to a boy with brown hair.
"Koji Koda," Izuku said, giving the next uniform-second to last!-to a boy with a rock-shaped head-interesting, did he have some kind of earth-based quirk?
"And, lastly, Mezo Shoji," Izuku said, giving the last uniform to a boy with six arms and a blue mask over his face-interesting.
"Thank you," Shoji said…through a mouth that appeared at the end of one of his arms. Cool.
(Also! Sato, Koda, and Shoji are all taller than Aizawa is! I find this really funny for some reason, so do what you will with this information.) (Also, yep, I definitely got rid of Mineta, but don't worry, he's just in Gen Ed…Odin gets to deal with him later. It doesn't end well for him. I don't like Mineta.)
"Alright, so the changing rooms are on the first floor-we're currently on the third floor, so we should hurry up and get down there," Izuku said, then looked at Aizawa, who was giving him a tired look.
"One, why do you know that, two, did you seriously take attendance for me?" Aizawa-sensei asked.
Izuku smiled. "What do you think?" With that, he brushed past the teacher as Brazen detailed the way there, Kacchan, Toshi, and Shoto following him instantly, while everyone else paused for half a second before following as well.
…
"Man, dude, did you memorize the layout of the school already?"
Izuku looked at Kirishima. "Well, technically, yes and no-it's part of my quirk."
"Do you have some kind of locator?" Sato asked, looking over at him.
"No, I have familiars," Izuku said. "A bunch of ghosts that I can talk to-two of them already knew the layout of the school because one of them went here while he was still alive, but I didn't know anything about the entrance exam beforehand-they kept that from me so I wouldn't have an unfair advantage."
"So manly!" Kirishima said.
Izuku shrugged as he pulled his shirt off and pulled on his gym uniform shirt, then quickly changed into his pants, his Sides all quickly changing their clothes as well.
"We should get out as soon as we can-Aizawa-sensei made a comment about how much time we took to quiet down earlier, so we can also assume that he doesn't want us to be slow getting out there, either," Izuku said, quickly stuffing his normal uniform into his locker-the gym uniforms had all had slips of paper attached with a safety pin that stated the locker number and combination (is this an actual thing in Japan? No idea, but I can pretend! Since shoe lockers are a normal thing from my limited knowledge…I'm not doing another research binge for that. Nope, not again.)
"Oh!" Kirishima said, then quickly started to change faster as Izuku quickly made his way out, the first boy done changing. He went out to the practice field, where Aizawa-sensei was the only person.
Aizawa-sensei looked at him. "You're the kid with the ghost quirk."
"That's me, Izuku Midoriya," Izuku said, looking at the teacher. "But all my ghosts and I respond to Midoriya, so usually, if you really need to get my attention instead of one of my ghosts, just calling me Izuku's the best bet, or one of my Sides-er, ghosts, might answer instead."
"Alright, thanks for letting me know," Aizawa-sensei said, looking like he wanted to ask something, but clearly thought better of it.
It wasn't long before Toshi came out, followed by Kacchan and Shoto, then the rest of the class trickled out shortly after.
Aizawa-sensei sighed. "You took about 10 minutes to all get out here from when you entered the changing rooms. I expect faster from now on." He sighed. "We will be doing a Quirk Apprehension Test to see how much control each of you has on your quirks."
"Wait, what about orientation?" Uraraka asked.
Brazen snickered. Aw, she thinks that Aizawa's ever cared about orientation. He sure didn't when we were in school together.
"Orientation is a waste of time," Aizawa-sensei said. "UA has three years to give you all the skills you will need on the field in order to save lives and survive yourself." He paused for a second. "Midoriya."
"Hmm?" Izuku asked-or, well, Izuku and a few Sides asked at the same time, talking at the same time always felt weird.
"You got first place in the entrance exam, so step up," Aizawa-sensei said, then handed him a ball-oh, ball throw, Yumio had Izuku do this kind of test a few times a year because he wasn't in school where they would do this. "What was your score in middle school?"
What was my last score? Izuku asked.
Uh…70 meters? Yumio said. I don't have the papers on hand at the moment.
Great, please tell me I'm not supposed to have the exact number.
"Um…I think 70 meters?" Izuku said. "Somewhere around there."
"Without your quirk, so now, stay in the circle and use your quirk," Aizawa-sensei said.
"Ok," Izuku said, stepping into the circle.
Use my quirk…what would get us the best score?
I'd suggest Odin's strength quirk, but we might need to combine some quirks here to get a really impressive score, Yumio said.
Ooh, ooh, yes, the strength quirk, but what if we also add on Brazen's clouds to make the ball even lighter? Odin asked.
I got really well when I did this back in school-not first place, but if we add to it, and maybe if you fly up and throw it as hard as you can, we'd do really well! Brazen said.
"So, as long as I stay in the circle?" Izuku asked.
"Yep," Aizawa-sensei said.
"Can I go off the ground?" Izuku asked.
"Knock yourself out, kid, just stay in the circle," Aizawa-sensei said.
"Alright," Izuku said.
Wings! Izuku said, then took off up in the air as he wrapped the ball in clouds, charging up Odin's strength quirk, and when he was about 50 meters in the air, he threw the ball as hard as he could and landed back down on the ground.
"The goal here is to push your own limits," Aizawa-sensei said, then showed them all a screen that said-
"Infinity!?"
Izuku's eyes widened.
What happened to the ball?!
We threw it up…Jesus Christ, did we throw it into space?!
I didn't even know that we could do that!
How did my strength quirk manage that?!
I thought that it would just combine my and Odin's strengths, not do that!
"Izuku, how in the world did you do that?!" Toshi exclaimed.
"Eh…I have no idea," Izuku said quietly, looking a little pale.
"That looks like fun!"
Oh ho ho, that girl is not that smart.
"Fun?" Aizawa-sensei snarled, spitting out the word like it was venom. "Is that all heroics is to you? Fun? People's lives are on the line-this isn't fun and games." And, with that, he had a big, creepy grin on his face. "How about we make this into a game? Whoever gets last place will be expelled."
Oh, I know that grin, he's gonna pull a logical ruse, Brazen said. But only as long as nobody slacks off, so still do your best!
Thanks for letting me know, Izuku said.
"But that's unfair!" someone-Izuku didn't know everyone's voices just yet-said.
"Are natural disasters fair?" Aizawa-sensei asked. "How about villain attacks? Life isn't fair. Welcome to UA. Go beyond, plus ultra and all that."
"...well, this is gonna be interesting," Odin muttered through Izuku as he walked back over to everyone else.
50 Meter Dash
Of course Izuku, Katsuki, and Shoto did well, but Toshi was internally freaking out.
He didn't have a physical quirk at all! All he had was that extra training Odin had helped him with, but would that be enough here? Probably not!
But he still had to do his best and just…hope.
So, when Toshi was going against the invisible girl, he just ran as fast as he could…
The girl-Hagakure, right?-got 6.45 seconds, and Toshi got 6.4 seconds-just barely faster, but he needed to do better if he wanted to stay in class.
Grip Strength
"Damn, that guy's strong," Katsuki muttered, glaring at the arms guy-sure, Katsuki got 65 kg, but damn, that guy got 540!
"Ooh, nice, 65!" Izuku said, looking over at him.
"Says you," Katsuki muttered, glaring at Izuku's grip strength-237.
"Yeah, but I'm using Odin's strength quirk," Izuku said.
"Wish I could," Toshi muttered, and they looked over-60 kg.
"Oh," Shoto said. "Wait, couldn't you brainwash someone into doing this part for you?"
Toshi thought for a few seconds. "I'm not sure if I can in this case, but…maybe for another test. I'll think about what loopholes I can go through."
"I'll offer myself as a test dummy," Izuku said.
"I saw that coming," Toshi said.
"All of us did," Shoto said.
Standing Long Jump
"Wings, there we go," Izuku said.
"Seriously?" Toshi said, then looked at Aizawa-sensei. "As long as I physically go across, right?"
"Yeah," Aizawa-sensei said, raising an eyebrow.
"Alright, hey, Izuku," Toshi said.
Izuku smiled. "Yeah-"
"Carry me across the sandpit," Toshi said, holding his arms up.
Izuku picked Toshi up and carried him across the sandpit, gently setting him down on the other side.
"Wait, what?!" some of their classmates exclaimed.
"Is that allowed?" Shoji asked.
"He used his quirk and stayed within the bounds of the rules," Aizawa-sensei said.
"Oh, good," Toshi muttered.
Izuku gave him a thumbs up.
"But you should try to use your quirk on someone else-not the same person twice," Aizawa-sensei said.
Toshi groaned. "I should've done that when we do the ball throw."
"...well, then," Izuku said.
Repeated Side-Steps
Izuku chuckled nervously. "I didn't really do that well for this one."
"Yeah, I did better than you did," Toshi said.
"Well, there's that," Izuku said.
"Tch, none of us really had quirks to help with that," Kacchan said. "So it was just physical strength."
"Yeah," Toshi said.
Ball throw
"705.2?! Nice job, Kacchan!"
"Tch, whatever." Kacchan said.
Toshi took a deep breath as Uraraka went, also getting infinity.
So she's my best bet, Toshi thought, walking over to her as she walked back.
"Hey, Uraraka, right?" Toshi asked.
"Yea-" Uraraka started as Toshi took control.
"One second," Toshi said, walking up to the circle-he was next.
"As long as I stay in the circle," Toshi said.
"Yep," Aizawa-sensei said.
"Uraraka, come here and throw this ball for me," Toshi said, holding out the ball.
Uraraka walked over and threw the ball, her quirk deactivating instead of getting to infinity because the hold broke (the ball still got really far, though, so that was good) and she collapsed, starting to puke-
"I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were at your limit-" Toshi started, kneeling down next to her.
Izuku walked over and helped Toshi get Uraraka to stand as she wiped away the vomit.
"S-Sorry-t-that was w-weird," Uraraka said.
"Here," Izuku said, making a large cup of water appear and holding it out to Uraraka, who took it and drank it all.
"Seriously, what can't you do?" Uraraka asked.
Izuku smiled. "Depends on my knowledge-it's complicated."
"...gotcha," Uraraka said, then looked at Toshi. "W-What was that?"
"My quirk-I can brainwash people," Toshi said.
"Oh, cool," Uraraka said.
Distance Run (just gonna go through these ones fast because the anime didn't really do much with them, anyway) (I think this was also an endurance test, right? It just said long distance run and didn't give much of a description otherwise, so I'm gonna assume)
Endless Energy (Yuki's quirk) made it so Izuku had no problem getting first place-tied with Yaoyorozu, who created a scooter and was just going around-Aizawa-sensei just stopped them after twenty minutes, declaring it a tie.
"I didn't think anyone could keep up running against a scooter," Yaoyorozu said as she and Izuku stopped.
"Endless Energy-it doesn't wear out, so it's really useful," Izuku said.
"...how many quirks do you have?" Yaoyorozu asked.
"Uh…sixteen plus?" Izuku said. "I don't want to reveal all my quirks right off the bat."
"Interesting," Yaoyorozu said.
Izuku nodded.
Sit-ups
"Wahoo, you've got this!" Izuku said as Toshi started-they were partnered up for this part.
Toshi glared at him as he did as many sit-ups as he could before time ran out.
Seated toe-touch
"How are you so flexible?" Kacchan asked, glaring at Izuku and Toshi, who both shrugged.
"Odin suggested doing stretches everyday, so I started doing stretches everyday," Izuku said.
"You tell me," Toshi said.
Results!
"Alright, here are your results-I don't feel like reading them out loud, so I'll just display them," Aizawa-sensei said as a large screen appeared…
"Ooh, I got first," Izuku said, beaming as he looked down the list-Shoto and Kacchan were third and fourth, and they were glaring at each other-huh, interesting-and, going down the list…
There, second to last, was Toshi, and last place was Hagakure-wait…had she even used her quirk during that whole thing? Either way.
"No!" Hagakure said, starting to cry.
"By the way, I was lying about anyone being expelled," Aizawa-sensei said.
"HUH?!"
Aizawa-sensei grinned. "It was just a logical ruse to make you do your absolute best."
"Isn't that cruel?" Uraraka asked as she collapsed-she got eleventh, it was clear she wouldn't get last, was she actually worried?
"I thought that it was obvious-sorry that you guys didn't know," Yaoyorozu said.
"Eraserhead is known for logical ruses," Brazen said. "He's loved them since high school."
At that, Aizawa-sensei stiffened and looked at Izuku with wide-eyes-as did the rest of the class.
"Eraser…head?" Ojiro asked.
"Yup!" Brazen said.
"He's our homeroom teacher-underground hero, so the whole point is that you don't know who he is," Izuku added.
"What's with the voices?" Kaminari asked.
"My quirk," Izuku said simply. "Either way, sorry 'bout that. As you were saying, Aizawa-sensei."
"...right," Aizawa-sensei said. "The syllabus is in the classroom, you have the rest of the day off-it was just this planned for the first day. Tomorrow, you start your other classes and heroics."
"Alright, let's go," Izuku said.
"Wait, Midoriya," Aizawa-sensei said. "Everyone else, go ahead."
Everyone started to whisper as Izuku stayed back, tilting his head.
"I didn't do anything wrong, right?" Izuku asked.
"No, but…that last voice…ghost," Aizawa-sensei said.
"Brazen?" Izuku asked, knowing full well what Aizawa-sensei was about to say.
"...he used to be Oboro Shirakumo, right?" Aizawa-sensei asked.
"Right on the money!" Brazen said, appearing and wearing his normal outfit-the one that looked just like his old hero costume.
"I thought you were wearing the gym uniform, too," Izuku sighed. "You know, just in case?"
"Eh," Brazen shrugged. "I changed back."
"...fair enough," Izuku said.
"...Oboro?" Aizawa-sensei asked.
Brazen nodded. "It's weird to be called that again, but yup! That's me!"
"I'm gonna go change," Izuku said. "Brazen, be back before I fall asleep, but otherwise, have fun catching up." With that, Izuku walked away.
….
"You can be far from him?" Aizawa asked.
"I dropped that package off at your place somehow," Brazen said. "But I can't be visible when he's asleep, and I'm not about to encourage a kid to have your sleeping habits-or, well, to do that again, that was a dark year."
"What?" Aizawa asked.
"Nevermind, something bad that happened-we've all moved on from it for the most part," Brazen said. "But either way, it's been a few years, huh? Glad to actually be able to talk to you again!"
"Yeah…it's nice to see you…I'm sor-" Aizawa started.
"Nope, no apologizing for anything!" Brazen said.
"You'd still be alive if-" Aizawa started.
"No, I wouldn't be," Brazen said. "Hero work is dangerous-we both knew that when that fight started. Heck, as far back as dreaming to be heroes, we already knew. I'm already over everything-granted, I got some help from some other ghosts I met before Izuku-Remy and Peyton, they also have new names from Izuku, Kamari and Emory, they're really cool."
"Oh," Aizawa said.
"So, how's it been?" Brazen asked. "Not gonna lie, I kind of followed you around for a bit when you were starting as a pro hero-really awesome to see, you're one of the coolest heroes out there!-that's favoritism, true, but hey, everyone in the Mind Palace plays favorites, majority vote agrees with me-but after a while, I wanted to start to see new sights, so I started to venture around and eventually ran into Remy and Peyton, then Izuku and Odin, lost a game of Guess the Hero-it was really funny and honestly unfair, I still say that Odin cheated-yeah, Mom, you definitely cheated, you can't even argue otherwise-but that's not the point! I wanna hear everything! Ooh, ooh, and can I talk to Yamada and Kayama? Izuku's gonna be awake until around ten or eleven, so I have tons of time and want to catch up, but I'm fine with anything-sorry, I'm rambling, picked up the habit from Mom a while back-er, I mean, Odin, one of the other Sides-ghost familiars-and just kind of kept going-"
"Uh…yeah, 'Zashi and Nemuri are on lunch soon-wanna surprise them?" Aizawa asked.
"You know it!" Brazen said happily.
Aizawa grinned. "What do you think will surprise them the most?"
"Getting into the teacher's lounge and I'm just sitting there, barbeque sauce on my-wait, nope, not gonna make that joke around Kayama," Brazen said (two points if you get the reference).
"...should I be concerned?" Aizawa asked.
"Always," Brazen said. "With us Sides-ghost familiars-always be concerned."
…
"What did the hobo-guy want to talk about?"
"Kacchan, he's our teacher, and I suggest not insulting him again unless you want Toshi to gut you."
"He wouldn't-"
"You wanna bet?"
"We are in school to be heroes, you can't just threaten to gut someone!"
"Take a chill pill, Engines!"
"Why-"
"Ooh, it's a step up from extras! What respect!"
"Bakugou, seriously, can you at least try to be nice for five seconds?"
"I'm-"
"He used up those five seconds earlier today, Shoto, duh."
"I WILL KILL YOU!"
"Kill? Interesting choice of words." (Two points if you get the reference)
"Did you just f*cking quote-"
"No swearing!"
"Wait, wait, guys, I'm in high school now."
"Did you just notice that?!"
"What of it, Izuku?"
"Mom's rule!?"
"..."
"..."
"Oh my God-"
"If you swear inside the school, I'm telling Hisashi."
"Ah, man."
"What are you guys even talking about?!"
"Long story!"
"It's a fun one, too."
"Jesus f*cking Christ."
"Let's just go get the syllabuses and head home already…"
"Yeah, that's a good idea."
"Aw, but I wanted to trade phone numbers first!"
"We can do that another time, that argument looks like it's going to go on for a while."
…..later…..because this is funny…..
"F*CK!"
Woah, goodnight everyone! (point if you get the reference)
Seriously, should I move this to a teen rating now, or…? Because I don't really understand how the ratings should work-at least, not that well.
Anywho!
Brazen gets reunited with his friends! If you want me to expand on that, like, write a chapter of just their interactions, I totally can! In fact, I probably will, just not yet, but I think it would be hilarious.
And we've met everyone! Yes, I just did space-filling by going by everyone's heights, but I also wanted to make a point that Izuku kind of accidentally took attendance, and it was also a fun introduction to Hagakure's situation-Izuku can see her! But why? I'll address that next time when we get to…drum roll…battle simulations!
Also, how did Hagakure do better than Izuku and Mineta on the Quirk test? Was that just…never addressed, or did I miss something? Seriously.
Whelp, I'll probably have the next chapter out soon! I am on a roll! With this fanfic…and some other stories I'm working on for something else, so I might end up writing those instead, so sorry in advance if that's what I do and disappear for the next few months…again. (Also, I have exams coming up, so that's probably something to factor in, isn't it? I should focus on that, but…then again-
I'm getting side-tracked again.
