I'm back! For some reason…no clue why, but here I am, once again, I'm torn into pieces-wait, I'm writing a fanfic, not a song. (two points if you know the song, though)

Alright…hero names. Personally, I'm not the biggest fan of what Bakugou's ended up being (Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight…? Not really a fan). No, I was a huge fan of the one I've seen bounced around in the fandom for a while: Ground Zero. I freaking love it. Therefore, I'm using it. Shinsou? Mind freak. Todoroki? I ain't just using his first name-I'm going with Dual (I can't remember where I've seen it, but I found it somewhere and love it.) As for Izuku? Ha, ha…I had something for a while that I loved, but…it's been two years now (woah, it's really almost been two years…that's weird) since I've started this, and now I can't remember, so instead, I'm settling for The Chess Hero: Flere (Flere, according to google translate, means "multiple" in Danish, no clue if that's accurate because I've found that a bunch of stuff through google translate is wrong, but oh well! Google translate was also used with all the Sides! That was added on last second, though, so! Be! Warned!

You didn't come here for me to ramble about that, though!

"Oh, Midoriya!"

Izuku and Shoto jumped and turned to see Iida running up to him in a raincoat-it was really downpouring out, Izuku was just carrying an umbrella, though. Shoto was as well, but it wasn't open, he was walking under Izuku's.

"Oh, hey, Iida!" Izuku said as his friend stopped by him, and Izuku held out the umbrella so they were both under it-Shoto instantly understood, taking out his own umbrella and giving Iida a concerned look. "Are…are you ok?"

"Why wouldn't I be?" Iida asked as Izuku sighed and turned on Emory's quirk-anger, hatred, malice, sadness, despair-yeah, no.

"Iida, my Sides and I spend so much time researching that it's not even funny," Izuku said bluntly. "We…we know what happened. We also know that you aren't alright."

"You don't even need to do extensive research-I saw the news last night, too, and you're about to start crying," Shoto added.

"I-" Iida started.

"That lie will be incredibly convincing-we cannot see emotions, remember?" Darnell hissed.

"Please, Iida?" Izuku said.

"I…" Iida started, then tears appeared and he started to cry silently. Izuku simply turned and gave his friend a hug, continuing the hug as they kept walking-it was awkward as Izuku transferred the umbrella to his other hand to keep Iida in a side-hug, but Shoto reached over and grabbed it, holding it out between the two-Izuku gave him a grateful smile.

"I'm…I'm so…he didn't deserve this," Iida cried, his voice barely showing this. "My older brother is an amazing hero-he can't walk anymore, he won't be able to get back to hero work, I just…"

"Do you want me to heal him?" Izuku asked.

"He's paralyzed, Midoriya," Iida said.

"Izuku, remember?" Izuku asked. "And Iida, I may not know if I can heal paralysis-"

Oh, I actually can-did that with this one guy that got mugged and his spine was severed with a knife, Odin said.

"...nevermind, Mom just confirmed that I can," Izuku said.

"R-Really?" Iida asked.

Izuku nodded.

It won't be exactly the same, and he'll still have to go through physical therapy as if he'd broken something, but he'll be able to return to hero work if he's careful.

"He'd still have to do physical therapy as you'd have to do after breaking something, but…he'd be able to return to hero work if he gives himself time to recover," Izuku said.

Iida smiled at him, wiping away his tears. "Can…can I ask my parents right quick if you'd be allowed?"

"Of course-I'd probably need permission from a hero to do that, anyway, but if I can get that, I'll heal him," Izuku said.

Same song as we always use for healing? Izuku asked.

Actually, this one is a little more…depressing, Odin said. Healing by FLETCHER is what I used, it's more about mental healing, but the usual one didn't do anything, so that's what I sang next, and it worked-don't know what the difference was, but I don't want to take any chances.

Gotcha, Izuku said.

"My parents probably won't respond for a while, but…thank you, Mi-Izuku," Iida said.

Izuku smiled at him, hugging him a little tighter. "No problem!"

"We're at the school," Shoto said.

Izuku carefully let go of Iida, then took his umbrella and closed it as they walked into the building.

"Oh, why were you two walking together to school, anyway?" Iida asked. "Do you usually walk to school together?"

"No, not usually," Izuku said.

"I've been staying at Izuku's house since the Sports Festival," Shoto said.

"...that was five days ago?" Iida said.

"Yeah?" Shoto said, then remembered something. "Oh, wait, that's right." He looked at Izuku and opened his mouth-

Izuku instantly took out a sheet of paper and handed it to Shoto. "You're giving that to Midnight, right?"

"Yep-thank you," Shoto said. "I'll see you in class?"

"See you then!" Izuku said as Shoto walked away.

"I'm surprised that he just stayed at your house," Iida said.

"Oh, he's done that before," Izuku said. "My dad even has spare clothes for him in case he just ends up staying over."

"Really?" Iida asked. "Is that vice-versa at his house?"

"Oh, I've never been to his house," Izuku said.

"Ah," Iida said. "But…why would he-"

"That's not my place to say, and honestly?" Izuku said. "Not really your place to ask either-sorry, that sounds rude. Shoto doesn't like to talk about it-honestly, I'd probably not know anything if not for the fact that Yui knew his mom and wanted to meet up with her again-if not for that, I'd know nothing."

"Oh, you're correct, I shouldn't have asked," Iida said. "I will not say anything to him about it, then."

"Thanks," Izuku said. "Now, ready for English today? We're doing conversations, I think, and I'm really excited for them!"

..

"Alright, as I said, you'll be choosing your hero names, but I'm no good at this," Aizawa-sensei said, getting into his sleeping bag (the draft-picks would be handed out after. "So, instead, another teacher will be here to help out."

"Who-" someone started.

"But be warned, choose the wrong name, and you could regret it for the rest of your life!" Midnight said as she walked into the room.

Brazen simply burst out laughing. Aw, is she thinking of what she'd had picked out besides Midnight?

Do I wanna know? Izuku asked.

Oh, I heard about that one-you don't, Odin said.

ok, then, Izuku said.

"As Eraserhead here said, he's no good with hero names, so today, I will be helping you choose," Midnight said as she started to pass out whiteboards and markers.

Yeah, Mic is the one that chose Aizawa's name, Brazen said.

"Hmm," Izuku said.

"Did you say something, Midoriya?"

Izuku startled, seeing that everyone was looking at him.

"Uh…did I?" Izuku asked. "If so, sorry, didn't mean to say something out loud."

"Gotcha," Midnight said, then paused. "Uh…Aizawa, do you know if…"

"I hope not," Aizawa-sensei grumbled. "But either way…Midoriya, you might want to consider plans for each of your familiars, just in case."

Izuku groaned. Yumio!

On it-I have an easy solution to that problem, Yumio said.

Sweet, Izuku said.

"Alright, now, as we were saying with hero names, what you choose now can very well be what you're stuck with, or what people will know you as," Midnight said.

"Hero names are often representations of what you want to accomplish, or what you want to represent," Aizawa-sensei added. "Take All Might for example-I don't really have to explain what his name represents, do I?"

"No!" everyone said.

"Good," Aizawa-sensei said.

"Now, has anyone started to think about their hero names already?" Midnight asked. "I'll give you fifteen minutes ok?"

A few students started to write something on their whiteboards as Izuku thought for a few seconds.

I haven't really given it much thought since I was little, Izuku said. I mean…definitely won't be using those old ideas…

We want to make a joke about chess, right? Hex asked.

I mean, have you seen our hero costume? Dasu asked.

Fair, Hex said. But if we change the amount and have more or less people, we'd have to change from a chess joke, so maybe that little before thingy.

Nice technical term, Duke said.

I'm trying my best here! Hex said.

We know, sweetie, and you're doing great, Odin said. As you were saying?

Thanks, Mom, Hex said. So we have something like "The Chess Hero:" then we should do something that refers to the fact that there are so many of us.

Hmm…let's try…Izuku, don't go up yet, but how about we take the word Multiple and translate it into a different language? Yumio asked.

Izuku nodded, writing down "The Chess Hero:" and leaving the rest blank for a minute.

How about…. Yumio started listing off some ideas, and Izuku stayed silent, noting what he did and didn't like.

..

"Now, students, who would like to show their idea first?" Midnight asked.

"Wait' we're showing these off?" Sero grumbled.

"Who has the guts to go first?" Jirou groaned as Aoyama got up.

"Hold your breath," Aoyama said with a smile as he started to flip up his whiteboard. "The Shining Hero-my name is I can not stop twinkling!"

"What!?" everyone said.

An…an entire sentence? Brazen asked. That's…that's getting rejected.

Midnight took the board. "It'll be better this way. Take out the I and shorten the cannot to can't."

The Shining Hero: Can't stop Twinkling, Yumio said.

It…fits his personality, Izuku said.

Was that a compliment or an insult? Hirah asked.

Yes, Izuku said.

understandable, have a nice day, Hirah said.

Mina got up next with "Alien Queen," which was rejected immediately

Next, Tsu got up. "I've had this name in mind since grade school. Rainy Season Hero: Froppy."

Ooh, I like it! Odin said.

"That's delightful!" Midnight said. "It makes you sound approachable. What a great example of a name everyone will love!"

Kirishima got up with "Sturdy Hero: Red Riot!"

"Ah, a homage to the Chivalrous Hero: Crimson Riot, correct?" Midnight asked.

"Yeah, he's been my favorite hero since I was little," Kirishima said. "I've always admired him."

"Well, if you're bearing the name of someone you admire, you have that much more to live up to," Midnight said. "Are you ready for that?"

"Yes, I am!" Kirishima said.

Next, Jirou got up (after teasing Kaminari). "The Hearing Hero: I'm Earphone Jack."

Shoji chose "The Tentacle Hero: Tentacole."

Sero chose "The Taping Hero: Cellophane."

Ojiro chose "Martial Arts Hero: Tailman."

Sato chose "Sweets Hero; Sugarman."

Mina went next with "Pinky" this time, and Midnight approved this one.

Kaminari chose "Stun Gun Hero: Chargebolt."

Toshi got up next, and Izuku smiled as he held up his.

"Mindfreak," Toshi said. "Doesn't need to be liked or anything-I plan on going into underground heroics, anyway."

"Ah, I see-it doesn't particularly give away your quirk, either," Midnight said as Toshi went and sat down. "Approved!"

Hagakure chose "The Stealth Hero: Invisible Girl."

Izuku had given that one a confused look.

But she's…not invisible? Izuku said.

Maybe that's her quirk and we just haven't noticed yet? Odin said.

We've been watching her along with everyone else-maybe it's about time we asked? Yumio asked.

Analysis would be really nice right about now, Dasu sighed.

Well, it's broken and we don't know how to fix it, Yumio said.

I'll ask…dangit, it's probably obvious and I'll get laughed at for not knowing no matter who I ask! Izuku said.

Shoto probably won't laugh, Hinata said.

and he's still staying over-I'll ask him tonight, Izuku said. (I wanted to wait until the dorms, but I realized that her hero name directly states her quirk, and I actually need to address this sooner than later…dangit!)

Momo chose "Everything Hero: Creati."

Shoto simply put…"Shoto."

"Um…are you sure you want to go with your name?" Midnight asked.

"I couldn't think of anything," Shoto shrugged.

"I'll…give you a few more minutes," Midnight said, but as Shoto walked past Izuku, he held out his hand.

"Here, can I suggest something?" Izuku asked.

"Sure," Shoto said, handing over the board.

The Katy Perry Hero: Hot-and-Cold! Odin laughed.

We are not making a prequirk reference in Shoto's hero name, Yumio said.

It would be hilarious, and we'd be the only ones to know! Yui said as Izuku wrote, "Ice and Fire Hero: Dual" and handed the board back to Shoto, who looked at it and walked right back up, showing the board.

"Ah, I see!" Midnight said. "Do you like it?"

"Yeah," Shoto said.

"Then I'll approve that one!" Midnight said, and Shoto walked back to his seat, giving Izuku a high-five on his way.

Tokoyami gave the name "Jet-Black Hero: Tsukuyomi," and while it got approved.

I am the Jet Black Wings, Dark Reunion shall never take me alive! Odin said, and Izuku struggled to keep a straight face-thankfully, no one noticed. (Two points if you get the reference!)

I definitely have to show that to him now, Izuku said. Or at least Shoto, Kacchan, and Toshi-they'll get a kick out of it!

Koda chose "Petting Hero: Anima."

Kacchan chose…

"No!" Midnight said. "That one's too dark!"

"Tch," Kacchan said, walking back to his seat, and Izuku reached over and took his board. "Hey!"

"We both know that you would've just put 'Lord Explosion Murder' next, and I'm vetoing that right now," Odin said as Izuku wrote "King of Explosions: Ground Zero" and handed it back to Kacchan, who looked it over.

"...not bad," Kacchan said, then got up again and showed it off.

"I see!" Midnight said. "Midoriya, when will you be showing your own hero name!"

"Give me a few more minutes-we're trying to figure out names for seventeen people, and we can only go through so many dictionaries at once," Izuku said.

"Dictionaries?" Midnight said.

"You'll see-just give us a few more minutes," Izuku said.

Uraraka chose "Uravity."

"Alright, now we just have Iida and Midoriya-Midoriya, how much longer will…looking through dictionaries take?" Midnight asked.

We just have two more to figure out, Yumio said.

"About…one minute," Izuku said.

"I see," Midnight said, then looked at Iida. "As for you?"

"Well…" Iida said, unsure.

The Fast Hero: Sonic Speed, Odin said. (two points if you get the reference)

I know you're going for the references there, Mom, but actually… Izuku said as Iida sighed and walked over, handing him his board.

"I'm really not sure of any ideas, and you helped Todoroki and Bakugou, so would you mind?" Iida asked.

"Sure," Izuku said, quickly writing down "The Fast Hero: Sonic Speed" and handing it back to Iida-

And we finally have everything figured out! Yumio said. (you might, but I sure don't!)

Iida looked at the board, then smiled before walking up and showing it.

"I like it!" Midnight said.

I'm exclusively calling him Sonic-wait, he even has blue hair- Odin said as she burst out laughing.

Mom! Izuku said as Midnight gathered up the whiteboards and handed them to Izuku.

"Would you all like to present together?" Midnight asked.

"Sure-one second," Izuku said, and all the Sides appeared in the room and quickly grabbed a whiteboard and a marker as Odin was still giggling.

"Is something funny?" Midnight asked, giving Odin an odd look.

"She's just been making prequirk jokes all day and came to a realization about the name Sonic-don't mind her, it's all good," Izuku said.

"But-" Odin started.

"Mom," Izuku said, glaring at her. "Sonic Speed is an awesome name that has nothing to do with hedgehogs."

"...do I want to know?" Iida asked.

"Probably not," Izuku said as they all got up.

"Ok, so I'll start…The Chess Hero: Flere," Izuku said.

"Chess?" Midnight asked.

"It's a joke among us," Izuku said.

"Was that prequirk joke intended?" Odin asked.

"Mom," Izuku sighed.

"May I ask the joke?" Midnight asked.

"Well, there's sixteen plus me," Izuku said. "We make up a chessboard plus the player."

"I see," Midnight said. "That's clever, but…is this setup set in stone?"

"No, and that's why it's not the actual name," Izuku said. "Flere means multiple in Danish, saying that there are multiple people in my head." He looked at Odin, who nodded and held up her board.

"One: I'm Raaya, which means 'Care' in Arabic," Odin said.

"Two: I'm Maadili, 'Morals' in Swahili," Yui said.

"Three: I'm Yukti, 'Logic' in Bangla," Yumio said.

"Four: I'm Creare, meaning 'Create' in Italian," Dasu said.

"Five: I'm Malsicuro, 'Insecure,' also in Italian," Duke said.

"I am not Six: Janus," Darnell said. "Not based off the Ancient Roman God of Duality, as well as Janus Sanders."

"...I have some questions there," Midnight said.

"Six: Janus," Izuku said. "Darnell only speaks in lies. Thousands of years ago, Roman civilization had a bunch of gods that they worshiped-Janus was one of them, and among other things, he was the God of Duality. Janus Sanders is how we came to know more about the entire subject."

"That…just gave me more questions," Midnight said.

"True Janus fashion there," Odin said.

"Anywho!" Brazen said. "Seven: Loud Cloud!"

Midnight and Aizawa-sensei instantly tensed up.

"Wait, that sounds familiar-but from where?" Shoji said.

"Aw, you've heard of me?" Brazen asked. "I actually used to be a hero student, but I died before I graduated-I interned under this name, though-you guys would have been two or three when I died!"

"...oh," Shoji said.

"Wait, really?!" Uraraka asked. "I didn't know that you were…"

Brazen chuckled, scratching the back of his neck. "It's a long story, and it's a sensitive topic, so we should move on-but I do have copyright to my name still…I think, and I really liked it when I was alive, so…I wanna keep using it. Whelp! Ems, you're next.

"Right," Emory said. "Eight: Amynedd, 'Patience' in Welsh."

"Nine-lol, but I don't have blonde hair that stands on end-Spat, Russian for 'sleep,'" Kamari said.

"And you were talking about my jokes," Odin said.

"Not the time," Izuku said.

"Or the place-we can argue later," Kamari said.

"Ten: Frykt-'fear in Norwegian," Darlina said.

"Eleven: Wrath," Hirah said.

"Twelve: Alsi," Dot yawned. "Punjabi for 'lazy.'"

"Thirteen: Sihat!" Yuki said. "'Healthy,' also in Punjabi!"

"Fourteen: Comhra!" Paz said. "Irish for 'conversation!'"

"Fifteen: Trom," Hex said. "Irish for 'heavy.'"

"And Sixteen: Jiao Lu," Hinata said. "Chinese for 'anxious.'"

(please note that all of this went through Google Translate and may very well be wrong!)

"Do all of those have special meanings?" Midnight asked.

"Each of us is in control of some part of Izuku's personality-for the most part, that's what our names mean," Odin said.

"Well, mine doesn't, but then again," Brazen said.

"Yes, but…'conversation' and 'heavy'?" Midnight asked.

"I'm in charge of our social life," Paz said. "Which means I make it so we want to have conversations!"

"I'm depression-I make it so we don't feel weighed down by sad feelings," Hex shrugged.

"I see," Midnight said. "Well, I'll approve of all of them! But…um…Shira-"

"Brazen," Brazen said.

"...right, sorry," Midnight said. "You…might want to have an alternative."

"Seven: Beparbo, Uzbek Latin for 'reckless,'" Brazen said.

"Gotcha," Midnight said. "Well, that's everyone!"

"I'm going to pass our internship offers now," Aizawa-sensei sighed, getting up and grabbing a stack of papers and three tablets-Izuku, Shoto, and Kacchan had gotten so many that Aizawa-sensei hadn't bothered to print them off. He passed everything out, and Izuku looked at his offers-

"Now, do remember that everyone is still required to do an internship," Aizawa-sensei said. "Those that didn't receive any offers instead got a list of places that UA has an agreement with-you'll still be participating, but your options are much more limited. You have the rest of homeroom to look over your choices, and you need to choose one by Friday. Internships start next week."

Alright, Izuku said, looking over the offers as people started to get up and move around. Shoto got up and pulled up a chair to Izuku's desk.

"Any clue where you want to go?" Shoto asked.

Izuku shrugged. "I got thousands of offers-" He stared at two that were side-by-side (lol). "I'm…sure of where I'm not going."

Shoto looked over to see an offer from All Might's agency, as well as Endeavor's. "...woah."

"I'm not going to either," Izuku said.

"Man, you're lucky enough to reject some!" Mina said, walking over and looking over his shoulder. "Which ones?"

"Endeavor and All Might," Izuku said.

"Wait, the top two!?" Mina exclaimed, and everyone looked over. "Wouldn't those be the two best options?"

"I haven't been a fan of either for a long time-Darnell's afraid of fire, so we try to avoid anything to do with fire heroes on the news when possible-he had a really bad panic attack during the Sports Festival," Izuku said. "As for All Might…that's completely personal-I'm surprised that's here, anyway, his agency is known for not doing internships and sidekicks, and if they do, it's on an incredibly small scale."

"That's why you should choose it!" Mina said.

"No," Izuku said, then spotted another interesting one as he scrolled.

Nighteye Agency.

That's where Mirio is-wait, are they reaching out because they need help with the search? Izuku wondered. Maybe we should ask Mirio-senpai later-but I'll go through Nighteye's Agency instead of All Might's if that's the case.

WAIT, IS THAT TORINO!? Odin exclaimed as Izuku's hand hovered over one. GRAN TORINO! Wait, he retired, why is he there?!

Who's… Izuku trailed off.

He was one of Nana's closest friends, Odin said. He was pretty nice to me.

Hmm, Izuku said.

"What about you, Todoroki?" Mina asked. "Interning with your father?"

"Well…I need to learn more about my fire, but…" Shoto trailed off. "I'd honestly rather get help with that from Hisashi."

"Who?" Mina asked.

"My dad?" Izuku asked, giving him an odd look.

"He gave me some tips when you went to get groceries the other day," Shoto said.

"Huh?!" everyone asked.

"Oh, that's what you were talking about-stopped talking when we got there because of Darnell?" Izuku asked.

"Yep," Shoto said.

"Hmm-you know, you can also ask Kacchan," Izuku said.

"I ain't helping Icyhot!" Kacchan said.

"But Kacchan, don't you want the prestige of teaching someone and showing off why your quirk is so cool?" Izuku asked.

"...DAMNIT, DEKU!" Kacchan yelled.

"Just focus on your internship offers for now," Izuku sighed, then spotted one that was definitely interesting.

That's…that's Hawk's Agency.

REALLY?!

OH MY GOSH!

CAN WE?! CAN WE?!

Izuku smiled, then marked it-that was definitely his top choice right now.

"Thank you again for doing this, Midoriya."

"Don't thank me yet," Izuku said as he and Iida walked into the hospital-Iida's parents had given permission, and because they were heroes themselves, they would supervise so Izuku could use his quirk. "I haven't done anything yet."

"True, but, still," Iida said. "My brother will get healed!"

"Remember what I said at lunch-it's been a really long time since Mom healed paralysis-for personal reasons, I can't tell you exactly long, but while I can use her quirk as well, this still isn't a 100% guarantee," Izuku said. "It's close, but…"

"I know, but still," Iida said as they stopped in front of a hospital room. "Are you ready? Wait, there isn't something you're supposed to do beforehand, correct?"

"I would've said something if there was-and I'm ready, I'm ready, I'm ready, ready as I'll ever be," Izuku said. (two points if you get the reference)

Iida didn't comment on how Izuku said that last bit, just nodded and knocked on the door, and instantly, a man that looked just like Iida opened the door-

"Oh, you must be Midoriya-thank you so much for doing this," the man said. "I'm Shun Iida, Tenya and Tensei's father."

"Nice to meet you," Midoriya said as Iida…uh, san? This was going to get confusing fast. Guided the two boys into the hospital room-

There was the Turbo Hero: Ingenium.

"Hello," a woman said, sitting next to Ingenium. "You're Midoriya?"

"Yep," Izuku said.

"Thank you so much-" she started.

"Don't thank me yet," Izuku said sheepishly. "While I'm really sure this is going to work, it isn't 100%-I should warn you about that now."

"Yeah, but you still offered-I'm Tensei, thanks so much for at least coming to try," Ingenium said.

Izuku nodded, then carefully sat down by Ingenium-we're really freaking out, this is really cool, oh my gosh, it's Ingenium-

-Brazen, you were in the same class as him, why are you freaking out so much? (the ages line up, I don't think it's specifically said if the two were in the same class or if Aizawa was in the same class, but most people say they would've known each other, so I'm rolling with it!)

Just because we were in the same class doesn't mean I can't think he's really cool! Besides, it's been so many years, he probably doesn't remember me anyway.

"So, how does this work?" Iida's mom asked.

"The healing aspect of my quirk comes from singing certain songs," Izuku said. "The songs I tend to sing are so old that you won't know them-but either way, I have two healing songs. My usual one didn't work when my…Mom went to heal paralysis, so I'm going to be singing the other one."

"Ok," Iida-san said. "Should we stay completely silent? Leave the room?"

"You don't have to leave the room, but it would be nice if you stayed quiet so I could focus," Izuku said.

I've always found silence best when using my quirk, anyway, Odin added.

"Ok," Izuku said. "Are you ready?"

The whole family nodded, and they seemed to be holding their breaths as Izuku took a deep breath, then he began to sing, Odin helping him with the words.

"I've been feeling

Inside out in my feelings

Upside down on the ceiling, ooo, yeah

I'm finally breathing

The smoke ain't gone but it's clearing

I ain't there yet but I'm healing

I ain't there yet

Inhale, exhale on repeat, yeah

Lately is't so hard to breathe, yeah

Fallen 'bout a million times

It's a miracle I'm still alive

No one said that it was easy

Tryna piece the broken pieces

But that's the sh*t I'm working on

The journey is a work of art."

Distantly, Izuku heard Iida (his friend) gasp at his swear, but otherwise, no one said anything.

"I can't erase all the things that I've done

But all the mistakes made me who I've become

I've been feeling

Inside out in my feelings

Upside down on the ceiling, ooo, yeah

I'm finally breathing

The smoke ain't gone but it's clearing

I ain't there yet but I'm healing

I ain't there yet but I'm healing

Ooh, yeah

I ain't there yet but I'm healing

Ooh, yeah

I ain't there yet but I'm healing

Breaking down don't mean I'm broken

Losing hope don't mean I'm hopeless

And maybe all I need is time

It never happens overnight

I can't erase all the things that I've done

But all the mistakes made me who I've become

I've been feeling

Inside out in my feelings

Upside down on the ceiling, ooo, yeah

I'm finally breathing

The smoke ain't gone but it's clearing

I ain't there yet but I'm healing

I ain't there yet but I'm healing

Ooh, yeah

I ain't there yet but I'm healing

Ooh, yeah

I ain't there yet but I'm healing

I'm finally breathing

The smoke ain't gone but it's clearing

I ain't there yet but I'm healing

I ain't there yet but I'm healing

Ooo, yeah

I ain't there yet but I'm healing

Ooo, yeah

I ain't there yet"

Izuku took a deep breath as the song ended, then slowly opened his eyes and looked at Ingenium, who was staring at him.

"Is…" Ingenium said quietly.

"Try to move your legs," Izuku said.

Ingenium looked at his legs-they all did-and everyone held their breaths in anticipation-

Ingenium's foot moved.

Iida's mom started to cry, Iida's dad cheered, Iida jumped up in surprise, and Izuku let out the breath he was holding.

We did it, Izuku said.

Hmm…not yet.

What? Izuku asked.

He's low on energy, Odin said. I…

Can we transfer some? Hinata asked. We've transferred to other ghosts before, remember?

But that's other ghosts-not a living, breathing person, Odin said.

I…I think we should try, Izuku said as the family ignored him, simply talking with Ingenium-of course they were, but Ingenium had already been tired, but he was trying to keep up with his family's energy. We can do that without even touching him, right?

Of course-alright, you remember the process, right? Odin asked.

Yep, Izuku said, closing his eyes and mentally reaching forward until he could sense Ingenium's Lifeforce (I'm feeling the need to add that his quirk allows him to create and share Lifeforce, not take, so he couldn't just kill someone by reaching for their Lifeforce and draining it-woah, my mind went dark while writing this.)

Ingenium's Lifeforce was a little smaller than a quirkless person's-he wouldn't be able to use his quirk even if he tried at the moment.

His body's going to add onto his Lifeforce as he continues to heal, but we can give him some to help speed the process, Odin said as Izuku mentally forged a connection between his own Lifeforce and Ingenium's, transferring a bowling ball's worth before severing the connection and opening his eyes again-

"I feel great, Mom!" Ingenium said, getting his legs off the bed and moving as if to stand up-

"Wait, don't stand yet!" Izuku said, and they all jumped and looked at him. "I know that you haven't moved from the bed since…yeah, and you're healed, but you still need to be careful and let your body adjust back to having your nerves and spine fixed, otherwise you'll put yourself back in that state."

"Oh-right, sorry," Ingenium said, moving his legs back onto the bed.

"You can walk again soon, but you need to start letting yourself heal-do therapy for a little bit to help make sure everything is actually going to be alright and give yourself more than enough time to finish healing before going back to hero work," Izuku said.

"Right," Ingenium said. "Thank you so much."

Izuku smiled. "No problem!" He carefully stood up. "Well, Iida, I'll see you at school tomorrow-or when you get back, I have a feeling you're going to be here with your brother for a while-but I'd better get going." We have to go check on…Dave, to make sure everything's alright over there and he still can't roam around. Make sure no construction plans are going on, either-nobody's moving in…

"Wait, I'll walk you to the train station," Iida said.

"No need," Izuku said, walking over to the door. "Happy healing!" With that, he walked out of the door and quickly started to leave the hospital-

"Oh, hello, deary."

Izuku startled, then looked to see the ghost of an old lady floating next to him, smiling sweetly.

"Oh, hi," Izuku said as he continued to walk. "Filling up on Lifeforce?"

"Yes," the ghost said. "I'm surprised that you can see me-is that your quirk?"

"Yes," Izuku said.

"Visiting a family member?" the ghost asked. "Bless their soul."

"No, I have a healing aspect of my quirk-my friend's brother got injured, so I came to see what I could do to help," Izuku said.

"Ah!" the ghost said. "How kind of you."

"Thanks," Izuku said. "How long have you been here?"

"Oh, five weeks," the ghost said, then looked down the hall. "None of my family came to visit when I passed-quite sad."

"I'm sorry to hear that," Izuku said. "It's…did you…?"

"I've only been a ghost for five weeks-I don't know where I want to go yet, so I'm just…haunting the hospital at the moment.," the ghost said.

"Oh," Izuku said, a few tears in his eyes. "I…I'm really sorry to hear that."

"Don't be-I'm old, anyway," the ghost said. "I still got to hold my great-grandchildren, even if my children and grandchildren didn't like me."

"Why?" Izuku asked. "Did something happen…if you don't mind me asking?"

"Oh, you don't want to listen to the stories of the dead," the ghost said.

"The dead tell the most interesting stories," Izuku said. "Especially the ones that have been around for a long time-one of my…ghost friends can tell stories for hours about the Quirk Wars in America."

"Ah, an old soul indeed," the ghost said.

"Midoriya!"

Izuku jumped and turned to see Iida quickly walking over to him.

"I insist, I'll walk you to the station-the nurse has to go through a checkup with Tensei, and I'm not allowed in the room until it's over, which shouldn't be for a while," Iida said.

"Oh, ok," Izuku said. "Thanks! Um…one second." He looked back up at the ghost. "Do you know where your…"

"Grave is?" the ghost asked, and Izuku nodded.

"Midoriya-ah, sorry, Izuku…there's…there's nobody there," Iida said.

Meanwhile, the ghost smiled. "Why are you asking?"

"You said that your family didn't visit you, and trust me…I've ran into so many ghosts whose relatives didn't visit them in the hospital and don't go to their graves, either," Izuku said. "But everyone deserves to have someone visit."

The ghost smiled. "I'm buried in Graveyard 1 of Atsugi-my…my name is Emica Watanabe."

(Did I go and try to find out if Izuku could realistically go and visit this ghost's grave every so often? Yes, yes I did. I also tried to figure out where Hosu was in reference to Musutafu and where a place between there would be so Izuku could go there, and I couldn't find the exact location of either (of course), so I'm taking a guess and this is the result!)

"Emica Watanabe," Izuku said. "Graveyard 1 of Atsugi. Great! I'll visit your grave."

"Thank you-bless your soul," Watanabe said with a smile.

"Hope to see you again," Izuku said, then turned to Iida-

"And let's hope I don't become a Wraith like the one over in the abandoned Shiozaki graveyard."

Izuku tensed up and looked at Watanabe. "Oh, you know about him?"

"Of course-wait, him?" Watanabe asked, surprised. "You know about the Wraith?"

"Yeah-my ghost friends and I are trying to clear up the situation before people can move into that area again," Izuku said. "Dave's really scary."

"You even have a name?" Watanabe asked.

"Well…yeah," Izuku said. "I was…there, when he became a Wraith."

"Oh, goodness, are you alright!?" Watanabe exclaimed.

"It was…close," Izuku said. "Too close for comfort. I…I don't like talking about it."

"Oh, nobody would-being there when a Wraith is formed!" Watanabe cried. "You're lucky he didn't suck every bit of Lifeforce out of you and drained you dry-"

"Well, would you look at the time, gotta go-see you around, Watanabe-san!" Izuku squeaked, then grabbed Iida's hand and quickly rushed away as Watanabe went in the opposite direction, taking the hint-thankfully.

"What was that about?" Iida asked once they'd exited the hospital.

"Sorry, I was talking to one of the ghosts in the hospital," Izuku said. "Her name's Emica Watanabe-she died five weeks ago, and her family's likely not visiting her grave, which can be really hurtful to newly-dead ghosts, so I offered to go visit."

"And this…Wraith, you mentioned?" Iida asked. "What's that?"

Izuku shuddered. "Horrible beings. All ghosts run off Lifeforce-humans do, too. Humans run out, they die. When a ghost runs out, they don't disappear-they become starving for Lifeforce and will do anything to get it, which leads to them attacking other ghosts and even living humans and stealing their Lifeforce-when that happens, the ghost attacking becomes a Wraith."

"And…the other ghosts?" Iida asked.

"They outright disappear," Izuku said. "But Wraiths disappear after one hundred years." He took a deep breath. "In Shiozaki, there's a Wraith-his name is Dave. I…I knew him, as a ghost, it was…scary. I was there when he became a Wraith-he attacked and severely drained and nearly killed us."

Iida asked as Izuku took a deep breath, trying not to attack.

"I…I managed to tie him down somewhere-he can't leave this old abandoned graveyard, but every so often, I have to go check," Izuku said. "It's not a perfect solution-nobody goes near there, but someday, development's going to start again-the buildings are abandoned and there are so many stories that keep people away from there, but someday, the buildings are going to be torn down, the graveyard…I don't know what's going to happen to that graveyard, but they're going to have to do something about it, and if Dave's still there…they'll die. We're working to figure out how to move him somewhere else without getting hurt-preferably some isolated island in the middle of the ocean-we can fly pretty fast-but that flight would take hours, and we were in contact with him for less than thirty minutes, and it was months before my Sides could even talk-the only reason we ever recovered is because of-" He took a deep breath. "I'm…I'm sorry, you shouldn't have to hear about my problems-"

"No, no, don't apologize, Izuku," Iida said. "You came all the way to Hosu to heal my older brother-the least I can do is figure out if I can help you-is there some way I can help?"

"We're currently…ok, I can't really say currently, we have another project, but we're trying to find trapping quirks-preferably ones that can take control of someone so we could control Dave and…manipulate him so he can't attack us-we also have Nezu helping us find something because Mom knows some information that Nezu himself can't find, so…yeah. That's fun."

"I…" Iida trailed off.

"Yeah, I repeat, sorry," Izuku said. "Scared my therapist when I said something-that was…kinda weird, but also funny? But in a sad way. Like…you laugh, but immediately feel bad for laughing? Probably not the point…um…yeah. So, because the author doesn't know a good way to change the conversation, we're conveniently at the train station where I say that I'll see you tomorrow or the next day, and I hope your brother recovers fast!"

"HAVEN'T I ALREADY SAID TO STOP BREAKING THE FOURTH WALL?!" the voice exclaimed, causing Iida to jump, but Izuku just smiled.

"Ah, right, the fourth wall is expensive-see you, Iida!" Izuku said, giving Iida a high-five, then walked into the train station.

.

That was…heavy.

Iida looked at the ceiling of his room later that night, just…thinking.

Izuku's really been through so much that he won't talk about, but he's still…he still took the time to come help Tensei. He sighed. I…I can't talk to him about the fact that I'm still angry. I'm still angry. How dare Stain hurt my brother! I…I will take him down! He's still in Hosu…I'll just have to take an internship there and find time to slip away-I can win.

Oh, isn't it so fun that Iida forgot that Izuku will always worry and be concerned?

"I'm going to intern under Hawks!" Izuku said happily, showing the tablet to Shoto-they just had to return them when they decided on their internships. "He's so cool-I can't wait!"

"Yeah," Shoto said, looking at his list, too. "I got an offer from him, too-and didn't Tokoyami say something about the same thing?"

"Oh, you're right!" Izuku said. "All three of us could do internships together!"

Shoto nodded. "That sounds…nice. Maybe I should get closer to Tokoyami, too-I don't know him that well yet." He paused. "While I'm thinking about it, with Iida."

Izuku sighed. "I'm going to have to find out something to keep an eye on him-he's still angry. He was grateful that I helped his brother, but…that anger's still there, and it's intense. More intense than your anger at the Dumpster Fire-I…I think he's going to make a mistake and do something."

"Maybe we should mention it to Aizawa-sensei?" Shoto asked. "He'd have a better opportunity to keep an eye on Iida than us."

"No, not exactly," Izuku said, then held out his hand, where something green appeared on his palm. "I…it's probably an invasion of privacy, but I put a Lifeforce tag on him."

"A what?" Shoto asked.

"Oh, it's something I'm testing," Izuku said. "You know that I can give Lifeforce, right?"

"Right," Shoto said.

"Well, I learned how to do this thing where I create a small band of Lifeforce and stick it on someone-ghosts can see it, but I doubt Iida can," Izuku said. "With this, I can essentially track a ghost-and now, I can track Iida. I won't know where he is at all times, and after internships, I'm going to make it disappear, but…I'm worried."

"Same here-he'll understand," Shoto said.

"Not if I never tell him," Izuku said.

"He would understand if you told him," Shoto corrected. "It's just to ease your worry, and you aren't even constantly checking on him."

Izuku smiled.

"Now, you never said that you could do this-mind telling me more about it?" Shoto asked.

"Oh, this is gonna be fun," Izuku said.

Midnight burst into Nezu's office, causing the principal to look up.

"Yes, Midnight?" Nezu asked.

Midnight slammed some papers on Nezu's desk.

"I got these from Todoroki of 1-A earlier today, written by him and one of Midoriya's ghosts, and if this is true, we need to open a potential abuse case against Endeavor now," Midnight said.

Nezu picked up the papers and started to read through them. "Let's see here." As he continued to read, the smile on his face fell, and he clutched the papers, almost ripping them as he continued-

"I will have the case put together, witnesses found, statements given to Detective Tsukauchi to verify their truth, and in court by the end of the month," Nezu said.

Is Endeavor getting better? Yes, yes he is. At this point in time? He's still awful. Seriously, he needs to have faced the consequences of his actions, and I'm not just talking about (MANGA SPOILERS) people's distrust now that they know about Touya. I want him in jail, serving time, and I don't care about his redemption arc right now-maybe I'll still do something with it and make him better later. Maybe I'll make him have to take classes before he can continue to be a hero, but Shoto (his only non-adult child) is removed from his care and placed in Rei's…once she's out of the hospital, she's been getting better faster in this fic, but she still has a way to go. Should I do this? Do you want me to continue to write him as a hero? Or should I drag his sorry butt to prison? Let me know!
