I have returned!

So now we just have the in between before the exam! So, exams are in mid-July, summer break is August, all that fun stuff…Izuku's birthday is mid-July, too! You know, that one that lines up with Yui's…oh. *cracks knuckles* Which means that, because the practical exam is next chapter…you're in for a treat in this chapter. And you're gonna hate me for this(huge angst warning), so let's go!

TW: Suicide, self-harm panic attack, author's inability to remember all that needs one, let me know if there's some that I missed.

WOOOOOOOOOOO!

"Final exams are coming up, so don't forget about it. There will be a written portion and a practical. Don't forget that we also have a week-long summer camp-those that fail won't be going to the summer camp, so do your best."

"Let's go!" Kaminari said. "I am ready for this!"

"Are you sure about that?" Tsu asked. "You didn't do so well in the midterms."

Kaminari paused, then groaned. "But there's also the practical, right? I can do that!"

"But the regular exam won't be easy," Mina groaned.

Exams are on Monday the 18 and Tuesday the 19th, right? Izuku asked, looking at the paper Aizawa-sensei had handed out for a study guide-yep. He sighed in relief. Can you imagine if one of them had landed on the 15th?

That would've been awful-but we're gonna have to miss school that Friday…it's gonna be a self-study day, anyway, so we won't have to miss anything important. That's good.

I'm sorry, you guys-

No, no, Yui, it's all good! We can't control when we die, after all.

Yeah, I know…I…I still feel bad, though.

"Hey, Izuku, you good? You almost look nervous!"

Izuku jumped and turned to see Kaminari standing next to him-when had he moved?!

"Oh, yeah, just a little," Izuku said.

"Dude, you got first place in the midterms and are the top of the class-you don't need to worry too much," Kaminari said. "As for the practical, your quirk is insanely powerful! I doubt you even have any drawbacks! I mean-"

"Please don't bring that up right now," Izuku said quietly, and Kaminari blinked at him.

"Hmm?" Kaminari asked.

Izuku sighed, laying his head on his desk. "...don't worry about it. Need help studying? I can see what I can help with."

"Ooh, I'm definitely gonna take that offer up," Toshi said over Izuku's shoulder. "Yumio's great at helping study."

"Woah, really?" Kaminari asked. "Then I'd love that!"

"We should have a study session at my place," Momo said, overhearing them. "It could really help all of us."

"Momo, you are a God, I swear!" Mina exclaimed.

Momo blushed. "N-No I'm not-"

"You are!" Mina exclaimed. "A Goddess from the Heaven's sent to help all of us with your grace!"

Momo just blubbered, embarrassed, as Izuku watched with a small smile, then frowned, looking back at his desk.

We can study while we're in the Mind Palace-Yumio, I know that you already know everything, but I have a feeling that we need to know more, Izuku said.

I am already compiling everything to look over, Yumio said. We will pass for sure, we just need to worry about the practical.

Hardly! Yuki said. I mean, we have the most powerful quirk in the class!

Yes, but we do get a little weaker after each Year Checkpoint, remember? Dot yawned.

Not by that much! Yuki said happily.

"Seriously, Izuku, is something bothering you?"

"Oh!" Izuku said. "No, no, it's nothing important, don't worry about it."

"...I am your friend," Iida said. "You've been worried about me despite me saying that, so I will be worried about you."

"Yeah, something does seem wrong," Uraraka said.

"What's up?" Toshi asked.

Izuku looked at Toshi. "Um…July 15th?"

"What about-oh, it's your-oh," Toshi said, going pale. "That's…that's gonna be a problem, isn't it?"

"Hmm?" Kirishima asked, leaning over. "What's wrong?"

Izuku scratched the back of his neck. "It…it shouldn't be much of a problem, just…it's the first one since I was thirteen, and I get a little weaker after each of them…I…I should be fine…"

"What?" Momo asked, concerned. "Are you alright?"

"Please don't worry about it," Izuku said. "It's nothing huge and important, really, just something that my quirk does every so often, I…I'll be fine."

"Stop asking about it," Kacchan snapped.

"Do you want us there?" Shoto added softly to Izuku.

"I'll be fine-you guys'll need to study all you can that day, anyway, I'll be fine," Izuku said. "I really don't want to talk about it, ok?"

They all exchanged looks, but thankfully started to talk to Momo to plan out study sessions at her house instead, which was great.

"We can have multiple if we need them," Momo said. "For the entire week before the exam, going over a subject each day, then on Saturday, we review everything and rest on Sunday before the exam!"

"That sounds like a great idea!" Mina said. "Thank you so much!"

Momo smiled. "I'm glad that I can help!" She looked at Izuku. "You're gonna be there, too, right? We can divide and conquer!"

"Everyday except Friday…I might have to leave early on Thursday, too, depending on how long they end up going," Izuku said.

"Gotcha," Momo said. "What time will you have to be home on Thursday?"

"Um…before nine," Izuku said.

"So early!" they all said as Kacchan looked at Izuku.

"You're really gonna do the whole…" Kacchan trailed off.

"Yep," Izuku said. "It's worked before, so I'm sticking to it."

"...gotcha," Kacchan said. "Well, count me out of these study sessions-I'm fine on my own-"

"I'll convince Dad to make you extra spicy curry next time you're over if you'll show up and help," Izuku said.

"...nevermind, when and where?" Kacchan asked.

Everyone just laughed.

"Midoriya, stay after."

There was the usual "ooh, you're in trouble!" as the rest of the class left the class for lunch, but Izuku walked up to Aizawa-sensei.

"What's up?" Izuku asked.

"Oboro…Brazen told me that one of these Year Checkpoints is coming up," Aizawa-sensei said. "I'm still incredibly concerned about them, so I'd like to ask about this one."

"Oh, there's nothing to be concerned about," Izuku said. "I basically go to sleep 24 hours before, hang out in the Mind Palace as we all comfort whoever's Year it is while they're feeling pain, then a few minutes beforehand, we all feel how they died, then we're all good as the Side cries and no longer ages, then I wake up and get something to eat. That's pretty much it."

"And this one is…Yui's?" Aizawa-sensei asked.

"Yep!" Izuku said. "She died in a car accident…a few years before I was born, I think. She actually knew Shoto's-uh, Todoroki's-mom when she was alive."

"Ah, right, helping to continue to build that case," Aizawa-sensei said. "We're trying to get it as far along as we can, but it's hard because-"

"I know," Izuku said. "But I have more than enough evidence with Yui alone to make sure Endeavor loses when it comes to it. Nezu emailed me for more information…and he's still looking for that trapping quirk." He sighed. "If only I could use Stain's quirk, but ghosts don't bleed. Oh well, I guess-we'll figure something out." Maybe we should leave Momo's house early so we can check on Dave before sticking to the Mind Palace.

Sounds like a plan!

"Either way, it's honestly not that big of a deal," Izuku said. "I've already talked to my therapist about it, and after exams, we're gonna work through the entire situation while it's more fresh on my mind."

"Are you sure?" Aizawa-sensei asked.

"Yep," Izuku said. "I promise, it's nothing to worry about. I've already been through four of these-well, two different incidents, but point taken. I'll be fine."

"...if that changes before the exam, let me know, and I'll see if we can arrange something different, ok?" Aizawa-sensei asked.

"...I will…thanks," Izuku said.

"Well, hurry on to lunch-you still have heroics after lunch," Aizawa-sensei said.

"Right, thanks!" Izuku said, then rushed out and to the cafeteria to get lunch.

"Woah!"

"I always forget that you're a rich kid, Momo."

"It's nothing too out-there, right?" Momo asked.

"Yaoyorozu, even my house isn't this big," Shoto said, having been dragged along by Izuku.

Indeed, they were standing in front of an actual mansion-even the Mind Palace was barely bigger than this was-not including the Imagination, of course, but that was also an outdoor setting-but the Mind Palace is huge, and this is barely smaller! What even?!

"Let's go inside," Momo said, and the class-a few people had opted out, but most of the class had decided to join the study session-walked inside, which was even more grand than the Mind Palace, and to a large room, where they all sat down on comfy cushions.

"Alright, so we have English and Japanese-I'll combine those as one category for simplicity's sake-Modern Literature, Modern Hero Art History, Mathematics, and Science," Momo said. "Any preference on what days we do what?"

"Can we do Modern Lit today?" Toshi asked.

"Sure!" Momo said. "Any other suggestions?"

"Tch…English and Japanese on Friday," Kacchan said. "Uh…Science tomorrow, then math, then history on Thursday."

"Alright!" Momo said. "We all have our literature textbooks here today, right?"

Everyone nodded and took out their textbooks.

"Alright!" Momo said. "Get to studying and ask questions if you need help with something, ok? So…Izuku's top of the class, then me, then Iida, then Bakugou, then Todoroki…are you all good with helping?"

Izuku nodded, then tapped the cushion next to him, and Yumio appeared, holding a copy of the textbook.

"Yumio was a teacher in life, so he's also a great resource if you have questions," Izuku said. "Let me think…Emory was also really smart…"

Emory appeared. "I may not have all the answers, but I'll help to the best of my ability!"

"Dasu and Duke…didn't go to school, Odin's from another country, Yui's…uh…Brazen doesn't remember much from school and didn't really pay attention, anyway, and Kamari didn't care, either…that's everyone that was high-school age or older," Izuku said.

"Alright!" Momo said.

TIME TO GO! TIME TO GO!

Izuku jumped, then turned off his phone alarm and grabbed for his notes…then took his hand away and gave Kaminari a smile. "Can you give them back to me on Saturday?"

"You really have to go?" Kaminari groaned.

"You're already getting better-hey, Kacchan, you busy?" Izuku asked. "It's already 7:30-I have to go do my check-in before heading home."

"Tch, fine-I'd better get that spicy curry when I go to your place on Sunday," Kacchan grumbled, sitting next to Kaminari.

"See you guys on Sunday!" Izuku said.

"Wait, what are you doing, anyway?" Uraraka asked.

"It's nothing too important-you don't need to worry about it," Izuku said, then quickly left the mansion and practically ran to the train station, getting on the train right before it took off-perfect timing!

"He says that it's nothing important, but I have a feeling he's lying."

"He doesn't want us to have to think about it," Shoto told Uraraka. "Don't worry about it-he'll be fine. We'll see him at Saturday's study session-now, do you remember why the law against too much skin was made?"

"Uh…that's more recent-Midnight-sensei's original costume?" Uraraka asked.

Shoto nodded. "Yep. Now, how about…"

Izuku flinched back as he heard Dave screaming as he approached the abandoned graveyard, and he stopped right outside, and Dave flew at him, but stopped just inside the graveyard.

"LET ME LEAVE-I'LL KILL YOU AS SOON AS I CAN-DRAIN YOU OF YOUR LIFEFORCE SO SEVERELY THAT YOU WON'T EVEN HAVE A GHOST LEFT!" Dave yelled.

Izuku hummed. "The binds are still in place, that's good. You aren't going anywhere, Dave-not until I can move you safely so you can spend the rest of your days somewhere nobody'll ever go." He took a deep breath, then turned and ran away.

"I'm home!" Izuku yelled, taking off his shoes and putting on his slippers as Hisashi walked over and hugged him, then guided him to the table, where some food was waiting.

"I'll make a huge dinner on Sunday for all of us-Katsuki getting extra spicy curry, right?" Hisashi asked with a small smile.

Izuku nodded. "Yep!" He sat down and quickly ate his udon, then gave his dad another hug. "I'll see you tomorrow evening."

"Yep!" Hisashi said, ruffling his hair, and Izuku protested, batting at his hands for a few seconds before Hisashi said, "Go change into your pajamas right quick."

"Yeah, I know," Izuku said, walking into his room and quickly changing, then he walked back out and gave his dad one more hug before going to his room and falling asleep.

Yui made a face as she looked at her arm, which had a large cut. "That hurts…"

"Why do you have so many cuts?" Odin asked worriedly, pulling the other Side into a small hug. "It was your birthday and a car crash…you…you shouldn't be this hurt."

"I…I don't know," Yui said. "I don't remember much of what happened-I spent so much time just sitting in the graveyard trying not to think about it that I just…forgot, I guess."

Odin frowned. "Maybe we should go check Memory Lane to see-this…this isn't good, I…"

All the Sides exchanged looks, then looked back at Odin.

"Are you sure?" Kamari asked.

"I'm just curious," Odin said. "We don't know much, but…all the bruises from the past year…all the injuries…something's not right, and while we're all here, maybe…only if you're alright with it, Yui."

Yui thought for a few seconds, then she nodded. 'I-I guess…I want to remember what happened, too."

Everyone nodded before walking over to the Mind Palace Library, then through Darlina's door, which led to a large, grassy plain with a yellow brick road that wound through the land to eighteen different houses, one of which was boarded off and couldn't be accessed ever again-unfortunately, they couldn't fully destroy it-and, trust me, they tried. Many times.

They walked past the first house, which was basically Izuku's apartment. Next was another apartment-that had been Odin's. After that was an actual house-rather nice-looking, honestly. That was Yui's.

Yui walked up to the house and carefully opened the door, ushering the others inside to reveal a huge room with doors covering from floor to ceiling, hallways all around that signified what kind of memories were down there. (two points if you get what I'm referencing here :)

"Alright, so my last living memories…directory," Yui said, and a large book appeared in her hands, and the pages began to flip until they stopped around halfway through, and a beam of light shot out of the middle of the page and down a hallway.

Yui took a deep breath, then began to follow the light, and everyone followed her down the hallway…down another hallway…and another…until, finally-

They came upon a worn-down door with a falling "16" on it at the very end of a hallway.

Yui smiled, then shut the book, making it disappear instantly, then she reached for the doorknob…and paused.

"We can go if you want," Odin said.

"No, I…I need to know," Yui said, then quickly, before she could change her mind again, pulled the door open-

"You useless child!"

"I'm…I'm sorry!" Himari cried as her mother smacked her head again.

"I told you to stay in your room today-we don't want to see you!" her mother hissed.

"I-I'll go-I'll go, just-" Himari started as her mother grabbed her hair and pulled her back to her room and shoved her inside, slamming the door shut and locking it, but Himari simply leaned against the door, full-out sobbing into her knees.

After a minute of sobbing, Himari wiped away her tears and crawled over to her desk, pulling up a board and pulling out-

A…a razor.

Yui immediately slammed the door shut, breathing heavy.

"I…I…" Yui whispered.

"...we should go back-" Odin started.

"All those cuts-we kinda knew about the bruises, but the cuts-those…those were me-did…was it…?" Yui whispered, then turned back to the door. "Show me how I died."

"Wait-" Odin started, but Yui pulled the door open-

Himari was no longer crying as she walked down the street, completely numb, wearing the outfit she had stolen from one of the maids-she just needed to get out of the house for a few hours, it didn't matter to her how long, she just needed to leave.

What a cruddy day.

Are they ever gonna change?

I'll never be as graceful as my sister.

I'm just the family disgrace.

Disappointment.

It would be better if I just-

Himari stopped at that last statement, subconsciously looking out into the street…where there were cars driving by.

I could. I could. Nobody would even notice-

No! Am I going insane?!

But…

It would be so much better if I disappeared and never came back. Maybe…

She took a step towards the street.

…if I was no longer alive

She stood at the very edge of the street, and she took a deep breath-it could very well be-

Then everything would be better.

With that, Himari ran out into the street-

Yui gasped as she stumbled back, and the door shut itself, and everyone stared, but Odin instantly rushed over and hugged Yui, who started to sob.

"I…I…I can't believe I…" Yui cried.

"It's ok-it's ok," Odin said, sending a wave of care through the entire Imagination-

"I really did it!" Yui yelled as the entire Imagination started to shake.

"Woah, woah, calm down, it's ok!" Odin said.

"We can walk through this, ok?" Emory asked gently, stepping forward-

"GET AWAY FROM ME!" Yui screamed, and, just like that, a burst of energy came off her, pushing everyone away-

Izuku woke up with a gasp as he felt his arm sting, and he looked at his wrist-

There was a cut and it was bleeding-

"Dad?!" Izuku exclaimed, shooting out of bed and stumbling into the living room, applying pressure on his wrist.

"Izuku, it's not nine yet-" Hisashi started, rushing over to his son, but Izuku showed him his bleeding wrist, and Hisashi gasped, looking terrified.

"It's Yui-she's panicking, I got kicked out-it wasn't an accident, Dad, she ran into traffic on her own," Izuku sobbed, collapsing forward into his dad, who hugged him tight before picking him up and rushing him over to the couch, laying him down before running and getting the first aid kit, rushing back and treating the cut as Izuku continued to sob, then his head felt like it was going to explode, so he curled up and pulled at his hair-it hurts, it hurts, it hurts make it stop hurting!

"Izuku, it's ok, it's ok, I'm here," Hisashi said, pulling his son close and gently rocking back and forth, rubbing his back.

Izuku continued to sob, and Hisashi quickly took out his phone-this was bad, there were only thirty minutes left to nine, could Izuku get back to the Mind Palace in time? But nothing had ever appeared on him, he'd never felt pain from this when awake, never-

Hisashi quickly called MItsuki, waiting for her to pick up, which, thankfully, she did quickly.

"Hisashi, what-" Mitsuki started.

"Something's wrong-Izuku's awake, there are cuts appearing on his wrist-I bandaged them up, but there's still more-he's in actual pain-we ran out of painkillers, I didn't think to get more before this, we don't usually need them-can you please get some, I'll pay you back, just please hurry, something to help him sleep, too, I don't think he can fall back asleep, and I don't want to think what'll happen when it gets to nine-" Hisashi rambled.

Mitsuki swore. "I'm on my way-I'll call the brats and tell them to get there, too-Izuku's gonna need more comfort right now." With that, she hung up, and Hisashi continued to hold his son close.

Ring!

"Tch, what does she want," Katsuki muttered as he answered his phone. "What do you want, hag?!"

"Izuku's awake!"

Katsuki froze, then double-checked the time on his phone. "What? It's…it's eight-thirty." (Here's me remembering that Kacchan here goes to bed before this but deciding to pretend that that's only a thing after summer camp for plot convenience-)

"Exactly-get your butts over there-I'm getting painkillers and something to knock him out, plus some more bandages-he's bleeding, Hisashi wouldn't say everything, but he's in actual pain-it's bad, it's really bad."

"Alright, we'll be there soon," Katsuki said, then hung up.

"Is something wrong?" Kirishima asked, giving him a concerned look as Katsuki stood up and began shoving his stuff into his backpack.

"Mindfreak, Half-and-Half, we gotta go!" Katsuki said. "Now!"

"What's going on?" Toshi asked.

"I'll tell you on the way!" Katsuki snapped.

Shoto and Toshi exchanged a look, then quickly packed up what they needed and left with Katsuki-

"Izuku's awake," Katsuki blurted as soon as they were out of the mansion.

Toshi jolted, checking the time. "It's…it's not nine, why is he…"

"I don't know, but he's bleeding and in pain-the hag is getting painkillers, something to make him sleep, and bandages, so we're heading over to see what we can do."

Izuku cried out as the entire scene played in his mind again-

Maybe…

She took a step towards the street.

if I was no longer alive…

She stood at the very edge of the street, and she took a deep breath-it could very well be-

Then everything would be better.

With that, Himari ran out into the street-there was no way that car could stop in time-it hit her head-on, sending her flying into a nearby building, and she hit her head, and everything faded away.

..

"Woah!" Hisashi said as Izuku started to clutch his head-

There was a loud knock on the door, which was, after a few seconds, just burst open, and Katsuki, Hitoshi, and Shoto ran into the apartment and over to the two, Mitsuki just behind them.

"What happened-oh my God!" Mitsuki said, rushing over and sitting on the couch, taking the painkillers out, as well as the melatonin gummies she'd gotten. "I don't know if these'll knock him out right away, but they should help."

Shoto, Toshi, and Katsuki rushed over, none of them even bothering with their shoes, and they crowded around Izuku, who was clutching his head even more, sobbing even worse.

Shoto glanced at his head, then carefully reached out and placed his right hand on Izuku's head, cooling it down to act like an ice pack.

"I'll get some water," Katsuki said, rushing into the kitchen.

Toshi carefully took the bandages from Mitsuki and looked at Izuku's arms, which were bleeding through the bandages that Hisashi had put on earlier.

"Ok, so, start from the beginning-what happened?" Mitsuki asked as Katsuki returned from the kitchen with a bottle of water.

"Well, he just came into the room, already bleeding-Yui…it wasn't an accident, she killed herself, panicked, and kicked him out of the Mind Palace," Hisashi said.

They all gasped as Katsuki checked the time.

"It's already nine," Katsuki whispered, horrified.

Shoto made his hand a little colder as Izuku continued to sob.

Hey, what's up? You guys seemed to be in a hurry earlier.

Is something wrong? Does it have to do with Izuku? I can drag Iida over if you need us.

The void has told me that Izuku is in need of help, so let us know if you will want us to call. Dark Shadow is worried and sends regards.

Can you answer, please? Nobody's heard from you and we're starting to get scared.

Shoto stared at all the messages on his phone and sighed, looking at Izuku, who had finally fallen back asleep-the wounds had started healing at around 9:30, and he'd fallen into a fitful sleep after that.

Shoto stared at Izuku for a few seconds, then looked back at his phone before looking at Hitoshi and Katsuki. "Everyone's asking what's going on…what should I respond with?"

"We shouldn't tell everyone what's happening," Hitoshi said. "That's for Izuku to talk about. Not us…but maybe we can say that it really is nothing to worry about? No, our classmates aren't dumb enough to believe that."

"Just say that something came up, but it'll be fine in a few hours," Mitsuki suggested. "Izuku should wake up anytime now…right?"

"I hope so-I know that he healed himself, but I still feel like I should bring him to the hospital…" Hisashi trailed off.

"Give it until morning-I can stay overnight, and we can take turns keeping an eye on Izuku, ok?" Mitsuki asked, then looked at Katsuki, Shoto, and Hitoshi. "You three might want to head home-you still have exams to do. Let us worry about this, ok?"

"I'm staying the night anyway," Shoto said bluntly.

"I'd stay up the entire night to begin with, I'm not leaving," Hitoshi said.

Katsuki simply sat on the ground and stared at them.

Mitsuki and Hisashi exchanged a look, then looked back at the three of them.

"...ok, just…try to get some sleep, at least, ok?" Hisashi asked. "I'll go get out some futons and blankets right quick." With that, he carefully stood up and walked out of the living room.

"Mom?" Izuku called out. "Mama? Yumio? Anyone?"

He heard no answer, and Izuku kinda shrunk in on himself-everything around him was pitch-black, but he could see himself perfectly fine, but…was he in the Mind Palace? Memory Lane? Somewhere else in the Imagination?

I don't like this, Izuku thought. Even after the whole thing at the USJ, it wasn't this bad…

Izuku took a few steps forward and tripped on something, causing him to stumble and fall, and he quickly looked to see-

"Hinata!" Izuku said, quickly picking up the young Side-they hadn't been there a few seconds ago!

"Izuku?" Hinata asked, hugging him as they cried.

"Where's-" Izuku started.

"I don't know-I haven't seen anyone!" Hinata cried.

"Alright, so let's find them together!" Izuku said, picking them up, then moving them so he was giving Hinata a piggyback ride. "Since we have no clue what we're doing, you wanna choose the direction we walk in?"

"Hmm…that way!" Hinata said, pointing to the right.

"Let's go!" Izuku said, walking in that direction.

..

"Yui!" Odin exclaimed, trying to get closer to the other Side, but a strong wind was blowing her back, making it really hard to get closer to the crying Side-Odin had no idea where everyone else was, they'd all gotten thrown back, Odin had, too, she managed to get back, though, she would find everyone later, Yui was still breaking down, it was bad. "Yui, please, can you let me come close?"

Yui didn't answer, continuing to break down.

Ok, what do I have that can help me right now? Odin wondered. My strength isn't going to do much here, wings will be a huge problem, so what song can I sing…? She thought for a few seconds, then something clicked. It's Alright by Mother Mother. She took a deep breath.

"Oh, it's alright, oh

Oh hey, I had a night I had a day

I did one million stupid things

I said one billion foolish things

I'm not ok, I got a baseball bat beside my bed

To fight off what's inside my head

To fight off what's behind my meds

I'm lonely; lost in pain.

It's alright, it's ok, it's alright, it's ok

You're not a monster, just a human

And you made a few mistakes

It's alright, it's ok, it's alright, it's ok

You're not gruesome, just human

And you made a few mistakes

It's alright, oh, it's okay, oh."

Yui started to calm down, and Odin rushed forward and caught her, but didn't stop singing as Yui buried her face in Odin's neck.

"G*****n,

I threw a brick right through the window

My life ignored the signals

I'm high and drunk on ego, can't see straight

So I just feel my way around and

I'm touching and I'm grabbing everything I can't be havin'

I am broken down in shame

It's alright, it's ok, it's alright, it's ok,

You're not a demon, there's a reason

You behaved in that way

It's alright, it's ok, it's alright, it's ok,

And I believe, yes I believe that you will see a better day

It's alright, oh, it's okay, oh, it's alright, oh."

She hugged Yui a little closer as their surroundings started to lighten up a little bit, and Yui's sobs got quieter. Odin thought for a few seconds, then decided that she should probably stop singing.

"It's ok," Odin whispered, pulling away slightly to look Yui in the eye-her face and eyes were red from crying so much.

"B-But I-" Yui started.

"-didn't live the best life, we already knew that," Odin said gently. "We already knew that you had bad parents and weren't the happiest-we just didn't know the extent. It's ok."

"E-Everyone's gonna be so mad-" Yui started.

"No one is going to be mad at you," Odin said. "Because you aren't the same person you were in life. You're our morals and the other parent here-everyone here loves you, and this won't change anything-what happened back then was not something anyone should blame you for, and if they do…well, they can go clean the horse stables in Dasu's stables."

Yui giggled as the entire area got even lighter-that's good, Odin could make out the surroundings even better, they were in Memory Lane, but outside-did the house kick them out to prevent damage? Huh, interesting, she'd have to ask Yumio about it later.

"Yeah, it would be hilarious-then, if someone continued to grumble, the dragon's den might need cleaning, too," Odin said, making a face as she carefully stood up, fully carrying Yui, who yelped, and Odin grinned and started to spin, causing Yui to laugh as the area continued to get lighter.

"Put me down, put me down!" Yui squeaked.

"Alright," Odin said, carefully setting Yui on her feet, but instead grabbed her hand. "Let's go find everyone, ok-"

"Mom! Mama!"

The two jumped and turned to see Izuku giving Hinata a piggy back ride and running towards them.

Izuku stopped by them and quickly hugged Yui. "Are you alright!?"

Yui hesitated, then hugged him back. "Yes, it's just…I'm so sor-"

"Nope!" Hinata said. "No apologizing!"

"None of us knew-you didn't even know-if anything, I'm sorry that you had to go through that-you shouldn't have had to," Izuku mumbled.

"Can we fight your parents?" Hinata asked. "I mean, we already know Monoma from Class B, you're probably related to him, so maybe we could ask!"

"...oh my God, we are not fighting my parents," Yui said, and they all laughed.

Izuku yawned as he sat up and rubbed his eyes-

"Izuku!"

Izuku jumped as he turned to see Hisashi, Mitsuki, Kacchan, Toshi, and Shoto staring at him, and they all instantly rushed forward and hugged him.

"Sorry about that," Izuku mumbled.

"Don't apologize-what happened?!" Hisashi asked. "You didn't really talk about what happened, you were just sobbing-and bleeding, I already checked, though, you stopped bleeding-you said that Yui-"

"-stepped in front of the car, yeah," Izuku said. "She…she didn't remember what had happened, and we got curious as to why she had so many bruises and cuts, so we went to see her memories…she didn't take it well. She's better, though. Or, well, Mom's helping her through it right now. Everyone is."

"That's good-want me to start making comfort food now?" Hisashi asked.

"No…everyone just wants to stay in the Mind Palace for a bit," Izuku said. "Thanks, though."

"I'm still gonna make you some katsudon," Hisashi said, getting up and going to the kitchen.

At around 2, Kacchan's phone started ringing. Kacchan grumbled something, then answered. "What?"

"Hey, bro!" Kirishima said. "We were just wondering if you're still coming to Yaoyorozu's place for the review today? It's cool if you're not, we were just wondering.

"One second," Kacchan said, then pulled his phone away and looked at Shoto, Toshi, and Izuku. "Wanna go to the review at Ponytail's?"

Shoto and Toshi looked at Izuku, who bit his lip.

"I…will I have to talk about…" Izuku trailed off.

"If someone asks, I'll explode their face," Kacchan said.

"Like that's gonna stop Kaminari," Toshi sighed.

"I'll just tell Sh*tty Hair to tell everyone to shut up about it," Kacchan said. "If that's the case, do you want to go?"

Izuku thought for a few seconds, then nodded.

"Gotcha," Kacchan said, then lifted the phone again. "We'll be there, but if anyone asks Deku about what happened, I'll kill them. And I'm not even freaking kidding-if Sparky says anything, he's dead."

"Ok, I'll tell everyone," Kirishima said. "See you soon?"

"Yup," Kacchan said, then hung up.

.

"Alright, Bakugou said that they'll come, but no one's allowed to ask Izuku about what's up-he specifically said to tell you that, Kaminari."

Kaminari groaned. "But I wanna know!"

"There's probably a reason," Momo said. "We shouldn't push it-it sounded…serious."

"Fine," Kaminari said.

"I'll just bug one of the ghosts later!" Mina said happily.

"No," Momo said. "If Izuku wants to talk about it, he will, but if he doesn't, we will not push for information."

Mina pouted, but didn't say anything else.

"Alright, so, who feels like they need to go over what?" Momo asked.

Izuku bit his lip as he tugged a little on his sleeves-it was pretty warm out, which made the sleeves a little uncomfortable, but while the cuts and bruises had healed, the scars had turned light blue and were still there…yeah, he didn't want the others to ask questions.

Toshi sent Momo a text to say that they were at the doors, and Momo was quickly there and gesturing for them to go inside-

"Um…aren't you going to overheat in sleeves?" Momo asked, giving Izuku a concerned look.

"I'm…a little sick-nothing bad or contagious, just…enough to make me cold," Izuku said.

"You're sweating-you know what, I'm just going to assume that this is one of those things you don't want to talk about-let's go study."

..

"Sorry, none of the Sides can come out right now," Izuku sheepishly told Kaminari, who groaned.

"Aw, man!" Kaminari said.

"But you're getting the hang of this pretty good," Izuku said happily. "Don't get complacent, but I think that you're going to do pretty good as long as you do your best!"

"Aw, thanks!" Kaminari said, reaching up to give a high-five, and Izuku gave him one, kinda hunching in on himself afterward as he brought his hand down-his sleeve had gone down a little, was that enough to see the scar-

Hey, hey, nobody saw, ok? Calm down.

Thanks, Izuku said, then smiled at Kaminari. "Alright, anything else you need to review right quick?"

"Eh, Ashido looks like she could use the help," Kaminari said as Mina walked over and playfully shoved him away.

"Yes, please-you're really good at explaining!" Mina said, laying out a textbook and pointing at a problem. "Momo explained this to me yesterday, but I still don't get it."

Izuku looked at it-it was an English grammar question. "Alright."

.

"I am ready for this!"

"Thanks for letting us study at your place, Momo," Izuku told Momo as she walked with them to the train station.

"It was nice to have people over," Momo said, then lowered her voice. "But, um…are you alright? I know that Bakugou told us not to ask, but…you were tugging your sleeves down the entire time. You don't have to tell me what happened, just…are you ok? Or will you be?"

Izuku bit his lip and looked at the ground. "I…not really, but I will be. Tomorrow, maybe, just…" He rubbed his arms a little, then sighed, looking at everyone-some people were glancing their way, but otherwise, him and Momo weren't in the center of the group, so…and Izuku…well, he trusted Momo, so… "Can…can you keep a secret?"

"Of course," Momo said.

Izuku glanced at the rest of the group, then carefully lifted his arm and pulled down the sleeve, showing the scars as he held a finger to his lips.

Momo gasped as he quickly pulled the sleeve down and looked around-some of the others were still kinda glancing at them, but nobody looked absolutely surprised, so they probably hadn't seen.

"What-" Momo started quietly.

"I'll…text you the story later?" Izuku said. "It's…it's a really bad side effect of my quirk, I…I really don't like most people knowing about it."

"Ah, gotcha-thank you for sharing, though," Momo said. "I won't tell anyone, I promise."

"Thank you," Izuku said.

Momo nodded.

So…yeah. I love my quirk, but my therapist does say that it's messed up. I haven't been awake for a Final Day before, and I won't do it again. It HURT.

I bet it would. I'm sorry that you had to go through that, but thank you for telling me.

Izuku smiled at that, then set his phone down and sighed.

"What's up?" Toshi asked-Shoto had been called home, and Kacchan had left, but Mrs. Shinsou was working late and had told Toshi to stay with the Midoriya's until she came to pick him up.

"I just texted Momo about the whole situation, but…I…I don't think the scars are going to fade anytime soon-everyone else is gonna have to see them at some point," Izuku said. "I just…"

"You don't have to talk about it yet if you don't want to," Toshi said. "You know that, right?"

"...I know, just…" Izuku trailed off.

Hey, it's gonna be fine, Darlina said, taking away his fear…which immediately turned full-force. What the…

What's up? Izuku asked, on edge. Toshi gave him a concerned look and pulled him into a hug.

I…I can't exit the Mind Palace? Darlina said.

There was a pause, then all the Sides started to mutter that they couldn't, either, and Izuku just…started to panic.

Cutting off there! What did you think?

I apologize for not giving the warning for this in the last chapter-I honestly forgot that the timeline would have this happening…now. I thought I had another big arc, but…I don't. So that's fun. (And I'm upping the rating on this from K+ to T, if I haven't already.)

I'm not sure how I'm going to do the exams besides when Izuku has to tell Aizawa about this little predicament. I'm still going to have him take the exam, not with Bakugou, though, maybe with Momo instead? Because I wanna see Bakugou and Todoroki fight All Might :) And win by the skin of their teeth. And, as you've probably noticed, I'm not the best at straight-up writing battles, so warning! Next chapter is gonna suck! But I'm working on it!
