HERE WE GO! I'M TOTALLY NOT AVOIDING CLASSWORK, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT-
This chapter reached 30 pages on my word document, so we'll see Kamino next time, probably a shorter chapter…probably. I'll probably put the dorms into that chapter, too, then a chapter of shenanigans and such (as well as a fun topic Mirio needs to address :)), then we'll get to *checks notes* the Provisional License Exam. Oh boy.
Also, this choice is going to be coming up in the next chapter or the one after that, more likely next chapter. Now, I have a big secret to reveal-I won't spoil it, of course, but here's a hint-it has to do with why the Sides still can't leave. Should I reveal the angst-filled response here that will make Izuku freak the heck out, but he learns something incredibly valuable, or should I go with a somewhat fun Year-Checkpoint that causes his quirk to reset like it had with Hex and Paz? Let me know. I have a slight preference, but you guys might not entirely like that, so…yeah.
I'm also beginning a set-up that will be really relevant in a few chapters-after when I can potentially reveal the big secret, and this isn't one that you get to decide. You just get to suffer the consequences of homework not letting me get enough sleep, so my mind came up with the BEST AND WORST idea ever, and wide-awake me went, "that's messed up. Let's do it."
Another note to maybe make you laugh: I spent most of the fight with Muscular listening to "Welcome to the Internet," as well as a parody called "Welcome to Anime." Take that how you will. And no, I am NOT ok. But three points for each of those songs of those you listened to!
ANYWAY-
Izuku bounced a little in place as the students waited to board the bus-everyone else was tired-fair, considering it was pretty early, but it was time for summer camp! Hisashi had almost told Izuku that he wasn't allowed to go, but Izuku had managed to somehow convince him to let Izuku go. Emphasis on the somehow, but all that mattered was that he got to go!
"How are you so energetic at six in the morning?" Jirou groaned, glaring at Izuku.
"Endless Energy, and the Mind Palace was all foggy after the mall, so I've been sleeping pretty much since to try to clean everything up-got the last of it earlier," Izuku said.
"...oh," Jirou said, wincing slightly.
"Are you feeling better?" Momo asked quietly, giving him a concerned look.
"I'm trying not to think about it, and Darlina has been hiding in the Imagination for a bit so I've been feeling only bits of fear here and there-still pretty strong," Izuku said. "Otherwise I've just been looking forward to the training camp-I wonder where we're going, how long the drive will be-I overheard Dad saying that there's gonna be more heroes there and tighter security to make sure that we don't get attacked, I wonder what other heroes are going to be there-we can assume that we'll at least see Aizawa-sensei and Vlad King-sensei-not to mention Class B! I've been trying to ask some of them about their quirks, but Monoma's been avoiding us, probably should talk to him about the fact that Yui's related to him, we think that his mom is Yui's older sister, but I haven't asked just yet-"
A slight chill entered the air, and Izuku turned to see Shoto standing next to him, rubbing his eyes.
"It's six in the morning-can you please mellow out?" Shoto yawned.
"Ah, right, sorry," Izuku said, calming down a little.
"He lives-it lifts a great burden from our shoulders to know that you are in a safer environment at home," Tokoyami said.
"Yeah!" Dark Shadow added. "Glad you're ok, Shoto!"
"Me, too," Shoto said, leaning heavily against Izuku as his eyes drooped. "Izuku, have any energy to spare?"
"I don't think I can transfer energy-sorry, Shoto," Izuku said.
Shoto groaned. "Then I'm sleeping on the bus."
"Sounds so nice, but mind letting the air warm up a little?" Momo asked.
"Huh…oh, sorry," Shoto said, and the air warmed up a little.
"Thank you," Momo said-
"Alright, load onto the bus-it'll be a few hours of driving, so get comfortable," Aizawa-sensei said, then glanced at Izuku, who gave him a small wave. "Midoriya, stay back for a second."
Nobody even bothered to make a comment about Izuku being in trouble as Shoto took Izuku's bag from him and got onto the bus. Most hesitated before getting on the bus, Kacchan practically dragging Toshi onto the bus with him, mumbling something Izuku didn't catch.
Soon, it was just Izuku and Aizawa-sensei, who quickly and carefully pat Izuku's shoulder.
"Can the Sides exit yet?" Aizawa-sensei asked.
"No, not yet," Izuku said. "We don't know why-I'll let you know when they're able to leave…or, well, I can send one of my Sides to tell you, that would probably be best."
"Ok, then," Aizawa-sensei said. "...honestly, I'm surprised that your father let you come."
"I still don't know how I managed to convince him," Izuku said.
"Right," Aizawa-sensei said. "Are you doing better? You were completely unresponsive last time I saw you."
Izuku gently scratched the back of his head. "Well…everything's just…going wrong right now, you know? It's nobody's fault-don't even start, Yui-but I'll be better by the end of camp, I promise."
(well, didn't THAT hurt to write-)
"...you've got some pretty bad bruises there," Aizawa-sensei said.
Izuku gently reached up and tapped one of them. "It's…it's fine. Shoto already said that he'll ice them if I ask."
"Good, but let me know if you need any pain killers or to find a way to contact someone because you're too overwhelmed," Aizawa-sensei said. "I'll be extending the same offer to any student, but I'm also aware that none of you will take it."
Izuku just grinned at that. "Well, duh, no one wants to miss summer camp." Brazen took over. "Gotta add to those gray hairs you're collecting there, Aizawa-sensei."
Aizawa-sensei snorted. "Brat. Get on the bus-time to go."
"Roger roger," Izuku said (three points if you get the reference, I couldn't place what it exactly was for a minute-) and quickly got onto the bus, noticing that there was an open seat next to Shoto, which he quickly took.
"Alright, we'll be driving for a few hours before taking a stop-do whatever you want, just don't bother me," Aizawa-sensei said, then settled down in the first row to take a nap.
Almost immediately, everyone started whispering amongst each other while Shoto just leaned against Izuku and fell asleep.
Izuku just turned to Iida, who was sitting across from him with Aoyama, who was saying something about sparkling brightly.
"Is Shoto alright?" Iida asked not-so-quietly, glancing at Shoto.
Izuku shrugged, careful not to move Shoto around too much. "He probably just stayed up late last night with his Mom and siblings-it's been a while since he's been able to spend so much time with his family."
Everyone nearby winced at that while Kacchan and Toshi just scowled.
"And this is why I've always wanted to fight the top two," Kacchan mumbled.
"Wait, top two?" Kirishima asked, giving him an odd look.
"...now that I think about it, you guys don't seem to like All Might, either," Tokoyami said, looking at Izuku.
"Oh, hate his guts," Izuku said.
"Wait, really?" Kirishima asked. "But he's so manly!"
"Yeah, well, he and Odin have a past-wanna share it all with us?" Kacchan grumbled.
"Wait, please tell me Odin isn't All Might's ex," Mina said.
Izuku choked on air as Toshi and Kacchan gave her the most disgusted look.
"Never suggest that-gross!" Odin gagged. "I've been dead for two hundred years."
"Wait…" Kaminari trailed off.
"Two hundred?!" the bus exclaimed, and Shoto somehow didn't jolt awake, but Aizawa-sensei snapped his head around to glare at everyone.
Odin blinked. "...right, that's not common knowledge."
"You're all so young, though-well, I mean, I guess you don't age when you're a ghost-uh…just never thought about it, I guess," Hagakure said.
"Wait, are all of the ghosts…" Kirishima trailed off.
Izuku chuckled nervously. "We don't really talk about how long it's been, really. I mean, most of them died within the last…thirty years or so-kinda sad to think that, honestly, Hinata, Yui, Hex, and Paz's parents are still around and we can't go fight them."
"Huh?" Kirishima asked.
"Oh…don't worry about it," Izuku said. "Just some personal stuff."
"I'm…very concerned about that," Momo said.
"Don't be-or, well, don't think about it too much, we won't be talking about it on the bus," Izuku said.
How do we get out of this conversation…?
No idea-uh…should we just pretend to be tired?
I already said I'm not!
Kacchan must have noticed that Izuku was uncomfortable, because he let off a small explosion, and everyone instantly looked at him-Shoto finally opened his eyes to glare at Kacchan.
"Can't you see he doesn't want to talk about it?" Kacchan snapped. "Besides, you f*ckers aren't hearing everything before I do."
"Wait, you don't?" Kirishima asked.
"Yeah, 'cause I know when not to push about it," Kacchan said.
Shoto blinked slowly, then wrapped his arms around Izuku, tugging him against him and wrapping around him slightly, resting his head on Izuku's as he went back to sleep.
And…Mina instantly took out her phone and quickly took a picture. Izuku just blinked at her, then looked at Shoto for a few seconds before shrugging and just curling into him a little more-what? He was warm, and it was nice.
So, with that, the bus stopped paying so much attention to Izuku and Shoto and just started talking quietly, some others going to sleep, too.
…..also known as I wasn't really sure of how to write the bus ride, it's been a hot minute, so we get to the bus stop that I'm writing off memory from at least two years ago! And OH BOY, this is gonna be FUN, but you can all hate me for this in a few chapters…you'll see :)…
The bus rolled to a stop, and everyone got off the bus to stretch their legs-
And Izuku's eyes instantly latched onto seven people-five people and two ghosts, those two over there are ghosts-I recognize them, but give me just a moment to remember who they are-that were standing nearby.
Mandalay, Pixie-Bob, Tiger, Ragdoll, as well as a tiny child kind of hiding behind Mandalay.
Immediately, of course, there were people whispering about how cool that they were standing in front of the rescue team-so cool!
…do you think Mandalay would tell us about her quirk if we asked?
That would be so nice, and, I mean, we wouldn't know unless we ask…
What's with the kid, anyway? And those ghosts are sticking near him-
WATER HOSE!
E EQUALS MC SCARED! (point if you get the reference)
That's who those two ghosts are-the Water Hose duo!
Oh-wait, I think I remember that they're related to Mandalay, maybe that's why they're here?
But what about the kid?
He kinda looks like them…wait, they have a kid?!
And they died…oh.
OH.
I know that we want to think about all of this, but we should focus on what they're saying-I already have the information that we haven't been paying attention to, but perhaps we should be concerned about-
"Oh, it's about…a four hour hike from here," Ragdoll said.
OH, that's what we're doing, sounds easy enough.
"Wait, what?" Sero asked as the ground started shaking-
"Back to the bus-" Iida started as the ground gave out from under them and they all fell down the cliff.
"If you aren't at the lounge in three hours, no lunch!" Ragdoll called after them.
The class hit the ground in a heap, and they all quickly scrambled to their feet-
There was a roar, and everyone jumped and turned to see a monster made of dirt-
"This is gonna be a challenge-but then again, what did we expect from a summer training camp?" Yumio said as everyone got ready to fight.
…
Five hours later, the students of Class 1A, covered in dirt, sweat, and bruises, stumbled into the camp area, panting but all of them grinning.
"You're back already-thought it would take a little longer," Ragdoll said as she turned and grinned at them.
"You said four hour hike," Kaminari groaned.
"For us, but you're students," Ragdoll said. "A little too late for lunch, but you'll be making dinner in about three more hours, so more time to train now!"
Everyone groaned out as Aizawa-sensei came over.
"Alright, hellspawn, time for your training plans," Aizawa-sensei said. "No slacking, we'll get started quickly here-I'll hand out the training plans, give you a ten minute break, then you get started."
….why…
Probably some kind of rivalry between us and Class B-I don't really care enough to think about it right now. Let's get training!
With that, Aizawa-sensei started to direct everyone to set-up training areas…
However, Izuku glanced over to the side, where the kid was standing, looking…angry. The two ghosts kept glancing at their child, but overall, they knew that there wasn't much they could do to help him as they were.
Should…should we approach him?
We have a small break here-we might as well…he doesn't seem ok-perhaps it's because of his parents being gone? It was kind of recent…
To lose his parents at such a young age…that's really sad.
And they care about him, too, they're sticking around him and still worrying.
"What are you staring at?"
Izuku jumped, then looked to see the kid now standing in front of him, glaring. Oh, were we staring for too long? That's a little embarrassing.
"Oh, uh…sorry-hi," Izuku said, kneeling down slightly so he could face the kid a little more face-to-face. "Sorry, I was kinda zoning out there."
The kid scoffed.
"Kota, he's just trying to be nice-please don't…" the kid's dad said, then sighed.
"Dear, he's going to, anyway-poor guy, he's just trying to be nice," the kid's mom said.
Izuku blinked, and, because of the warning, he managed to catch the kid-Kota, his dad had said-before he hit him…down there. That would've hurt.
Kota blinked and looked surprised-
"Kota-I'm so sorry about that-Kota, you know better," Mandalay said, scolding and picking up the still surprised kid-Izuku stood up as well. "Kota, apologize."
"I'm not gonna apologize to some wannabe hero," Kota said.
…does he not like that we're training to be heroes? That would…explain a bunch.
"Kota!" Mandalay said, then groaned and looked at Izuku. "I'm really sorry about that."
"It's fine," Izuku said.
"It's not, really-Kota's just still angry about our deaths, but he shouldn't lash out at others," Kota's mom said.
Izuku blinked at Mandalay for a few seconds, then turned his head and looked Kota's mom directly in the eye.
Kota's mom looked surprised at that. "Um…are…are you looking at me?"
Izuku gave a short nod, then looked back at Mandalay and Kota-probably not the time to tell Mandalay and Kota that the kid's dead parents were literally standing right there.
"Uh…what?" Mandalay asked, looking where Izuku had been. "There's…there's nothing there?"
Izuku simply smiled and gave a small nod. "Well, see you around."
WAIT, SHOULD WE ASK?!
Izuku paused, then shrugged and walked away. Maybe later-really doesn't feel like a good time.
Well, when WILL be a good time-we need to know-!
"Is something up?" Toshi whispered, giving Izuku an odd look. "That was…weird."
"Not as weird as the fact that the kid's dead parents are literally standing by him," Izuku whispered back.
"...oh," Toshi said. "Uh…yeah. Forget I said anything."
"Exactly," Izuku said as Aizawa-sensei walked over and directed both of them to their training areas, Toshi with Ragdoll (because his quirk kinda needed people to work), and Izuku was standing by himself off to the side with Aizawa-sensei while everyone else was getting started.
"So…any plan for me?" Izuku asked.
"You'll be working with Mandalay, but she'll be a minute-Nezu said you've been working to figure out her quirk to work more on communicating with others on the field, so that's your first objective," Aizawa-sensei said. "Then you'll both focus on trying to see if you can get the Sides out."
YES!
We get to talk to Mandalay specifically about her quirk, then we get to see if we can leave? Is this a dream? Please tell me I'm dreaming.
We aren't dreaming, sweetie, trust me on that.
Can she help us get out, though? We still don't know what the problem is…
Here's to hoping, at least.
"Sweet!" Izuku said.
"Sorry about that-oh, I'm working with you today-sorry about Kota," Mandalay said as she walked over, Kota's mom following behind closely and giving Izuku a look, almost as if debating on saying something now that she knew Izuku could see her. "Alright, sorry, what's your quirk again? I've been pretty busy these last few days, so it's kinda slipped my mind, all I remember is something about talking so you can use my quirk-some kind of copy quirk?"
"I have one of those, too," Izuku said, then glanced at Kota's mom for a few seconds before looking at Mandalay, who looked confused again and looked, too.
"Um…what are you looking at?" Mandalay asked.
Aizawa-sensei, however, understood.
"...problem child, who's there?" Aizawa-sensei asked.
Mandalay was instantly alert and got into a fighting stance-
"One of the Water Hose Duo-uh…I can't remember her name off the top of my head, it's been a bit since they've…passed, and I haven't been researching water quirks for a while, either," Izuku said.
"...wait, what?" Mandalay asked.
"So you can see me," Kota's mom said.
Izuku nodded, then looked at Mandalay. "Sorry about that-it looks a little weird to others, but I can see ghosts and make contracts with them to let me use their quirks-I currently have sixteen contracts with sixteen different quirks, one of which is called Advanced Copy-it allows me to use literally any quirk as long as I understand how it works and can get a description that we use every time we use said quirk," Izuku said.
"That's…that's really cool!" Mandalay said. "So we're going to go over my quirk so you can copy it and…there was something else?"
"His ghosts can't leave his mind right now, and we don't really know what's wrong," Aizawa-sensei said.
"All ghosts I make a contract with have a place in my mind they can go," Izuku explained when Mandalay looked confused. "My quirk has a…drawback to it that happens every once in a while-the latest one happened about a week and a half ago, and my ghosts haven't been able to leave since."
"We're hoping that, since you have Telepath, you might be able to see something that the Midoriyas aren't seeing," Aizawa-sensei said.
"Hmm…we'll see, but I'm not sure if my quirk will work like that," Mandalay said.
"That's perfectly fine-but if you don't mind us learning how to use your quirk?" Yumio asked, and Mandalay and Kota's mom jumped at the new voice. "It would be a huge asset for communication in the field and would give us more of an advantage in order to help save more people."
"That was one of the ghosts-they can talk through Izuku-that was Yumio," Aizawa-sensei said.
"Ah, yes, I did forget to introduce myself-my apologies," Yumio said. "My name is Yumio, as Aizawa-sensei said. I am the one that lists down all the quirks that we are able to copy, and often I am the one that researches quirks and figures out the descriptions that we need in order to do that."
"I…see," Mandalay said. "Well, then, let's see…it's been a few years since I've thought about exactly how my quirk works." She stayed silent for a few seconds. "Well, it's only one-way communication-I can send thoughts and messages to others through brain waves over a large distance-about 70 kilometers is my maximum, last I really checked, although that causes a really bad strain and headache-if I don't want to put myself out of commission, I try not to do more than 50 kilometers."
"Woah, that's so cool!" Izuku said. "I'm gonna give it a try right quick." He turned to Aizawa-sensei. "Any particular classmate I should call over here?"
Aizawa-sensei thought for a second. "Try Kirishima-he's the farthest from us."
"Ok!" Izuku said, then looked over to where Kirishima was.
Alright…copying the quirk-let's go!
Telepath-through brainwaves, can communicate one-way over a distance.
Izuku reached out and focused on Kirishima-
Hey, Kirishima, come over here.
Kirishima, on the other side of the practice field, jumped, then spun and looked over and the three. He looked a little confused, then walked over.
"Uh…did you call for me?" Kirishima asked. "It didn't sound like shouting, but I heard you."
"Yep-I just used Mandalay's quirk!" Izuku said.
"Oh, nice, bro!" Kirishima said. "Need anything from me?"
"Just as a test-you can get back to training," Aizawa-sensei said.
"Gotcha-gotta get stronger," Kirishima said, then turned and walked back over to his area.
"That's gonna be pretty useful-oh, if we're ever working together, we can technically communicate both ways!" Mandalay said. "That's a really useful quirk of yours!"
Izuku smiled. "Yep!"
"As for the other thing, do you think you can try?" Aizawa-sensei asked. "We don't know what's going on."
"Hmm…let me see," Mandalay said, then closed her eyes-
Woah, that is a weird feeling-it's like another presence poking around in here.
I'm not sure I like it-
TESTING, TESTING…
I DON'T LIKE THAT!
The presence disappeared, and all the Sides let out a sigh of relief as Mandalay opened her eyes, but she looked…a little disappointed.
"I'm sorry…" Mandalay said.
"That's alright-thanks, though," Izuku said.
Tell her not to do that again-Kirishima didn't seem bothered by it, just surprised to hear our voice suddenly!
We're also more attuned to our brain than Kirishima would be-our quirk is both mental and physical, while Kirishima's is strictly physical. I wonder…
"If you don't mind me asking, do you know how your quirk typically works on mental quirks?" Yumio asked.
Mandalay gave him a confused look. "I'm…what do you mean?"
"For example, mind if we use your quirk on you?" Yumio asked.
"...sure?" Mandalay said, looking confused as Izuku reached out-
Mandalay instantly retraced and flinched. "What the-"
"So it is different with physical and mental quirks," Izuku said.
"What just-wait, does my quirk do that?" Mandalay asked.
"What?" Aizawa-sensei asked.
"It's a really weird feeling-Kirishima didn't react, but it felt like…" Izuku trailed off.
"Something poking around in our brain," Odin added.
"I don't like it," Hirah said as Izuku crossed his arms, then he stopped and felt a little embarrassed at that.
"I would guess that it is because we are more attuned to changes within our brains-I wonder if Toshi would feel as much of a difference due to his quirk being mental, but his mind is also different than ours is," Yumio said.
"We can ask later," Izuku said.
"...alright, uh…should I ask about the other two that talked-wait, how many of you are in there?" Mandalay asked.
"Seventeen of us including me-that was Odin and Hirah," Izuku said.
"Do…do you hear them all the time?" Mandalay asked.
"No, they can be quiet if they want to be," Izuku said. "We can also communicate with each other one on one if we want to-we try not to do that too much, though, since we're all kinda living together as one big happy family."
"And all of them answer to Midoriya, too," Aizawa-sensei said. "If you want to talk to a specific one, you have to call them by name. Izuku usually responds, but sometimes it'll be someone else-and all of them have different personalities, too, so their responses will be very-"
"Hilarious!" Brazen blurted out.
"...different," Aizawa-sensei said. "That was Oboro-or, well, Brazen."
"Call me whichever!" Brazen added.
"Also, don't feel the need to remember all of our names-simply referring to us as Midoriya will do perfectly fine," Yumio said. "But with that covered, is there more training that we could be doing?"
"Right now, our main goal is trying to get the Sides out of your mind-I know that you can multitask between all of you doing that, but for today, you're just going to completely focus on that-tomorrow, you'll be training," Aizawa-sensei said.
"...that doesn't seem fair, though," Izuku said. "Everyone else is training, and I've got every single night to just figure it out-"
"Starting tomorrow night, you'll be awake the entire time to test the limits of Endless Energy-think of this as your break before that," Aizawa-sensei said.
"Wait, you can't do that!" Mandalay said, growing a little pale.
"Oh, sweet, Dad won't let me test that out on my own-doing training in the dark, then?" Izuku asked.
"Not quite-you still have to take breaks-you'll have a certain amount of time that you can train every night, but otherwise, I've got worksheets from Nezu for you to do," Aizawa-sensei said, and Mandalay just got even paler.
"What are you punishing this kid for?" Mandalay asked. "Seriously, that's a little too cruel."
"Are they on quirk analysis?" Izuku asked, lighting up.
"I don't know-I glanced at them and got a headache, so you'll find that out tomorrow night," Aizawa-sensei said.
"I bet they are-yes!" Izuku said.
Mandalay just blinked once. Twice. Then spun around and ran away.
Aizawa-sensei and Izuku stared after her.
"I…should have seen that coming," Izuku said.
"She's a pro hero-she shouldn't be so surprised," Aizawa-sensei said, then looked back at Izuku. "With that taken care of, let's go to the sleeping room-I'll have someone wake you up for dinner, then you'll go right back to sleep. Tomorrow at breakfast, the training starts."
"Sweet!" Izuku said.
Aizawa-sensei sighed, but led Izuku inside.
…..
Monoma glared around at Class 1-A as they were making dinner-there was a single student that he wanted to talk to, but he wasn't with them-was he skipping camp? How…well, he'd say pathetic, but…maybe they made an exception for the winner of the Sports Festival? Yeah, no, he saw him at the buses earlier, so where was he?
"What, do you have a crush on the enemy?" Kendo asked jokingly as she nudged Monoma's shoulder.
"No!" Monoma snapped, shoving Kendo back. "Just…Midoriya isn't over there-I was going to talk to him about his copy quirk." And the fact that he knows Aunt Himari…she's been dead for a long time…Mom misses her-
"Want me to go ask-I was gonna talk to my buddy Kiri anyway," Tetsutetsu said.
Monoma scowled. "No-since he won the Sports Festival, he probably gets an exception." He rolled his eyes. "Or their teacher went soft on them and let the guy have a break when he asked."
"Not what happened-Midoriya's hell training starts at breakfast tomorrow."
All of the 1-B students jumped and turned to see Aizawa-sensei glaring at Monoma.
"A-Aizawa-sensei," Monoma said.
Aizawa-sensei simply raised an eyebrow. "Don't go spreading rumors like that-it's irrational and does more harm than good. Class 1-A already knows, so you'll find out eventually. Midoriya doesn't start training until tomorrow-he won't be sleeping for the rest of camp, so he gets a break today."
"Wait, you can't do that," Kendo said, clearly concerned. "He needs to sleep-"
"Training one of his quirks-if he doesn't want to, he doesn't have to sleep for a few days-we're testing the limits of that," Aizawa-sensei said. "But that's none of your business-get eating. You only have a certain amount of time to cook." With that, he walked over to Class 1-A, just as Midoriya stumbled out of the cabin area and started to help out with cooking.
"...timing, I guess," Kendo said. "But, yeah, let's get cooking."
Everyone started to cook and everything again, but Monoma hesitated for just a few more seconds-he needed to talk to Midoriya about Himari…but he can't do that right now-maybe tomorrow, or even after the camp-that training plan didn't sound great, and Monoma doubted that it was just not sleeping the whole time.
…..
"Anything?" Izuku shouted to the Sides.
"Not yet!" Odin shouted back from…somewhere-all of the Sides were spread throughout the Imagination or the Mind Palace, trying to find what was off-and, well, everything was off, but they couldn't find the cause (well, then knew that it had to do with Yui's…yeah, but they couldn't find out why it wasn't getting better).
"I'm reading through the books, but I haven't found anything yet," Yumio shouted from the Mind Palace Library-while everyone else was physically searching, Yumio was reading through every single book carefully to see if he could find some kind of clue-not even speed-reading to make sure he didn't accidentally skim over something important. "Granted, I just finished my first shelf, still have too many to go."
Izuku pouted, then groaned. "Why does the Imagination have to be so huge?! I swear, it's as big as Japan-we're never gonna find anything like this!"
"I've tried shrinking it, but it won't get smaller!" Dasu shouted. "And the problem could be coming from anywhere!"
"It sucks-" Izuku started just as he was jolted-oh, someone was shaking him awake. "Dang it!"
"Time to wake up-we'll keep searching!" Odin shouted.
Izuku nodded, then opened his eyes to see Shoto and Aizawa-sensei leaning over him.
"Anything?" Aizawa-sensei asked.
Izuku groaned as he sat up, shaking his head. "Nope. We can't find anything-everyone's still looking for a clue or just anything, but no luck."
"I see," Aizawa-sensei said. "But time for breakfast, then training-you'll get your worksheets starting around noon, then train for an hour and do worksheets for an hour alternating pretty much for the rest of camp."
"Yes!" Izuku said. "So, breakfast first?"
"Yep-you two head out," Aizawa-sensei said, shooing Izuku and Shoto away-the rest of the class was already out and making breakfast, and Izuku quickly jumped in to help, while Shoto just generally looked confused, having never helped in a kitchen before camp, so Kacchan just grabbed onto his arm and started to aggressively show him how to chop the onions.
…..I know I'm skipping over a bunch of things and just generally doing scenes that I want to write, but it's been a bit since I've watched this arc, and I'm enjoying writing certain scenes…also, with no grape boi, the bathhouse scene didn't really happen, so….
"Alright, half-hour break!"
Monoma groaned, very tired-he'd been testing the limits of copying quirks, whether that be time or how many, using multiple quirks at a time all day. And now there was finally a break-perfect. Time to go bother Midoriya.
Monoma looked over at Class 1-A's area, where the students were starting to relax slightly. After a few seconds, most of the class walked over to a large section of shade, where Midoriya was sitting with…worksheets? What kind of training was he doing besides the no-sleep thing? There were also a bunch of water bottles over there, frozen in ice-that just sounded amazing right now.
"Come on, quit staring-just go talk to him," Kendo said, shoving Monoma, who stumbled slightly in Midoriya's direction before he caught himself and simply walked over to the small group of four-
Midoriya looked up instantly as Monoma got close enough. "Can we help you with something?"
The rest of the class immediately looked at Monoma, too, and now Monoma wondered if he should've waited-
"Oh, you guys probably want ice water, huh?" Midoriya said, setting down the worksheets next to him-wait, that was quirk analysis, Monoma had done those before with his quirk counselor-and standing up, grabbing a case of ice water. "I'll hand some out-here you go." A weird, black tentacle came out of Midoriya's arm and grabbed one of the water bottles and handed it to Monoma, who jolted but took the water.
"Uh…thanks," Monoma said awkwardly, following Midoriya as he walked over to Class 1-B.
"No prob-hey, anyone want some water?" Midoriya asked, looking around at 1-B. "I've had it frozen for the last ten minutes."
"Dude, you're a lifesaver," Tetsutetsu said, taking the water and gulping it down.
"No problem," Midoriya said as he continued to hand out water bottles. "I was using Shoto's quirk on the water, anyway, and you guys were working really hard-cold water's really great after a workout."
"Yeah-and…what are you doing?" Kendo asked. "Aizawa-sensei mentioned that you would be staying awake for the rest of camp, but you were working for a while before taking a break before the rest of us."
"Oh, right!" Midoriya said. "Since I'm staying awake, I'll be training at night, too! But it's not healthy to continuously train like that for pretty much 24 hours every day of a two-week camp, so instead, I'm training one hour on, one hour off-and when I'm not physically training, I'll be doing quirk analysis worksheets." His face lit up at that. "And, if I finish all of them early, I get to start working on your quirks and asking questions-oh, right, if you guys don't want me to analyze your quirks, let me know-everyone in A's already used to it 'cause I've done it so many times-oh, sorry, I'm rambling, ignore that-well, I should probably get back to my class's area-it was nice talking to you-"
"Wait," Kendo said, then roughly shoved Monoma, gesturing between the two. "Monoma, didn't you have something you wanted to talk about?"
Midoriya looked at Monoma, who bit his lip.
"Uh…it can wait?" Monoma said awkwardly.
"...about Himari, right?" Midoriya asked.
"...yeah," Monoma said.
"...then, yeah, it might be best to wait-my quirk isn't working well right now, so you two can't talk yet, so if you don't mind waiting?" Midoriya asked. "Also, long story, but she isn't ready to talk to your family just yet-give us some time-it might be after the school year has started up again, though."
"...that long?" Monoma asked. Did he seriously have to wait to have a conversation with his aunt? For what? This boy wasn't even related to him-he shouldn't be keeping his aunt from him-he shouldn't be speaking for her!
"Yeah…again, long story that we don't feel like sharing right now," Midoriya said. With that, he started to walk away-
"Figures someone from A would run away from a conversation," Monoma blurted out bitterly before he could stop himself.
"Figures that a Monoma wouldn't give two sh*ts about other's feelings-just like your grandparents," a girl's voice-that was Himari, Monoma knew that-said, causing everyone to gasp and stare. "Now that we've established that, do you mind?" She took a deep breath. "Sorry, that was uncalled for, but you can wait patiently, if you don't mind." With that, Midoriya walked away-
Kendo immediately smacked Monoma upside the head.
"Ow!" Monoma said, rubbing his head as he glared at Kendo. "What was that for?!"
"That was rude!" Kendo scolded. "He was being nice and gave you a time when, said sorry over someone else not wanting to talk to you right now, and you still-ugh!" She shoved him, rolling her eyes as she stood up. "I'm gonna go apologize for you." With that, she stormed over to the Class A area, where Midoriya was already sitting down next to someone-Todoroki.
….
"I am so sorry about that."
"It's fine," Izuku said. "You should get back to your break."
"No, it's not fine," Kendo said.
"Do we need to go fight Monoma, because I definitely will," Shoto said.
"Shoto, no," Izuku said.
"Icy-Hot, yes-and I'll be there, too," Kacchan said.
"Kacchan, no," Izuku said.
"What did he say?" Shoto asked.
"Why do I have a feeling that we won't like the answer?" Momo asked.
"He just was pushing to talk to his aunt, and…well, got rude about it," Kendo said.
"Yeah, I get it, though-but she doesn't want to talk, and she kinda can't right now, either," Izuku said. "We don't really wanna talk about it right now."
"And don't we only have thirty minutes for a break-you should get back to that," Jirou said.
"Right!" Kendo said. "Well, thanks for the ice water-and, again, really sorry about Monoma." With that, she ran back over to her class area-
"What…what was that about?" Kaminari asked. "Does it have to do with-"
"Don't. Ask," Kacchan said.
"...fair," Kaminari said.
"I'll probably tell you guys at some point-just…give me some time," Izuku said, leaning against Shoto a little-
"Wait, why does Izuku get Shoto's cold?" Kaminari said. "No fair! Trade?"
"No," Shoto said immediately, and everyone burst out laughing.
….was that last bit because I wanted to move on to the next part? Yes. But that doesn't mean I need to be called out on it…I completely own up to that….
Izuku slowly dipped his feet into the hot water as he began to sink in. That's so nice…
Today's been great! I mean, we still don't know how to leave, but training was so much-
Shota doesn't like us saying fun, remember?
He can't hear our thoughts, though! And it was! When was the last time any of us have trained this hard? I mean, besides Brazen, have any of us really done training like this besides what we've been up to on our own? Even we can get a helpful perspective from someone else-and there's seventeen of us here already!
Well…
Izuku smiled, then slightly turned as he fully got in the hot spring-it was just him, the others already asleep. "Hello."
The Water Hose Duo both jolted in shock.
"That's…that's right, you can see us-well, we knew that, but it's just…wow," the guy said.
"Yep!" Izuku said. "We generally get that with ghosts we don't know-sorry I couldn't really talk much with you sooner, it can get really awkward doing that around large groups of people."
"I'd imagine-oh, wait, manners," the woman said. "I'm Eimi Izumi, and this is my husband Kai."
"And I'm Izuku Midoriya-feel free to call me Izuku, it's easier," Izuku said.
"Ah, right…seventeen of you in your head?" Eimi asked.
"Yep," Odin said. "We'd all come out and introduce ourselves, but we kinda can't wander around right now-it's personal, so we don't want to talk about it too much, if you don't mind."
"...right," Kai said. "Well…" The two exchanged a look, then looked back at Izuku. "Can…can you make others see us, too?"
"Um…yes and no," Izuku said. "I can't really make people see ghosts unless I have a contract with the ghost, and…well, I don't know if I even can do that right now, let alone what would happen if I did. Again, long story."
They would probably either be trapped out of the Mind Palace, or be sucked in and join us. And that doesn't even consider if we could break the contract right now…overall, probably best not to experiment with this.
"Sorry that I can't do much for you there-but, if you want, I could probably tell your son a message-at least, that's what I'm guessing you want here," Izuku said.
Both of them perked up.
"Wait, really?!" Eimi asked.
Izuku nodded. "Well, not right now, he's probably asleep, and just because I'm wide awake doesn't mean anyone else should be." He gasped, then whispered, "wait, guys, we're the bad example."
"...oh my ghost, we ARE-"
"Focus, we were having a conversation right now."
"Right," Izuku said, shaking his head before looking back at the Water Hose Duo. "So. What kind of message? Ooh, wait, do you want me to try to talk to him tomorrow and you guys say what you want to him then?"
"That…that sounds really nice, thank you," Kai said. "See you at some point tomorrow, then?"
"Yeah," Izuku said.
"Well…bye," Eimi said, then the two left.
Izuku just slunk further into the water with a smile.
…THIS HURT TO WRITE, SO YOU SHALL EITHER SUFFER WITH ME OR ENJOY THIS AND MAKE MY SUFFERING WORTH IT…..
"He's alone right now-he hasn't eaten, either…would you be alright with doing this right now and bringing him some food?"
Izuku looked up from grabbing his food, then looked around-yeah, Kota had left. And he hadn't gotten close enough to get some food, either…
Izuku quickly fixed up another plate, and Iida gave him a confused look.
"A second plate already?" Iida asked.
"Kota already left and didn't grab anything to eat," Izuku said. "Also, I've been meaning to talk to him today."
"Didn't he try to punch you on the first day?" Iida asked. "Why do you want to talk to him?"
"Long story," Izuku said, then slipped away (but not before setting his own plate of food next to Shoto with a quick explanation of what he was doing), following Eimi and Kai as they led him towards Kota, who, as it turns out, was sitting on a nice large ledge-area just up the mountain nearby.
Izuku blinked at the child for a second, then said, "uh, hi."
Kota's head whipped around to glare at Izuku. "What do you want?"
Izuku held up the plate. "You didn't grab any food-need those nutrients and all."
"Tch, I don't want anything from you hero-wannabes," Kota said.
"He doesn't like heroes," Eimi said, and Izuku glanced over at her-
"Why do you do that?" Kota demanded, and Izuku jumped a little.
"Uh…" Izuku said slowly.
"You keep looking to the side-there's no one there!" Kota said. "It's so annoying!"
What a little brat-
"I am so sorry about that-he's just-" Kai started.
"-you don't like heroes in general," Emory said gently. "Because in your mind, we're just preparing ourselves to die. Is that right?"
Kota jumped, then glared. "What kind of voice was that?"
"Oh, sorry-hello!" Emory said. "I'm Emory."
"Emory's part of my quirk," Izuku said, kneeling down not too far from Kota. "My quirk is also why I keep looking to the side, actually."
Kota made a face, but Izuku simply smiled.
"My quirk lets me see ghosts," Izuku said. "I can also use their quirks by forming a contract with them." He nodded to the side, where Eimi and Kai were standing. "There are two ghosts standing right there."
Kota made a face. "Ghosts aren't real. That's stupid."
"Hmm, I wouldn't be so sure," Izuku said. "After all, one of them did warn me on the first day that you were about to punch me-not very nice, by the way, but oh well."
Kota gave him a suspicious look. "Then…then prove it." He moved his hand behind his back-
"His birthday is December 12-when he was really little, he used to think that Santa would also bring him presents on his birthday, too, because it was the same month-and, if he didn't, it was because he got really busy right before Christmas and would instead leave a few extra presents under the tree for him," Kai blurted. "He knows better now and doesn't believe in Santa, but we wanted to keep that going for as long as possible-and, well…"
"Your birthday is December 12," Izuku said, causing Kota to jump. "You don't believe in Santa now, but when you did, you thought he would also bring you presents-or he would bring extra ones on Christmas."
Kota's eyes grew wide. "H-How…?"
"Your parents are still very worried about you, Kota," Izuku said. "So much so that…that they never really left." He looked at Eimi and Kai, who were moving next to Kota. "They're still right by your side, even if you can't see them."
"But…but they chose to leave," Kota said, tears in his eyes as he quickly shut them, looking down as if that would make it so he couldn't see them-as if he suddenly could. "They died."
"Very few people choose to die, Kota-your parents didn't want to die," Yui said-and oh, that hurt.
"But they didn't have to be heroes-they didn't have to fight that villain," Kota said.
"You're right, they didn't," Yui said. "But they didn't walk into that fight thinking that they would die. No hero does."
"All we wanted was to save people and be someone our son could be proud of-we never wanted to die-we just wanted to get back home to him," Kai said softly.
"They just wanted to save people," Izuku said. "They wanted to be people that you could be proud of. At the end, they just wanted to go home to you."
"If we could go back, we wouldn't have been in that fight," Eimi said. "We would've walked away and let someone else handle it-I know that's selfish, that so many more people would've been hurt, but-"
"As heroes, sometimes we're taught that it's ok to run away," Izuku said as Kota suddenly rushed forward and collapsed against him, sobbing. Izuku jumped slightly, but was quick to wrap his arms around the crying boy. "Your parents would have, if that was an option, left the fight to come back home to you." He took a deep breath-
"E-Everybody says that they died a 'noble death,' as if it's a good thing," Kota sobbed. "As if it needed to happen. As if…"
Izuku froze at that, then…
"They're wrong," Izuku said firmly. "Dying is never a good thing. No one deserves to die-and no one should ever say something so horrible. Your parents shouldn't have died-no one at all should die young." He hugged Kota a little tighter for a few seconds before the kid squirmed slightly, so Izuku let go and let him pull away a little.
"T-They…they wanted to stay?" Kota asked quietly.
"More than anything," Eimi and Kai immediately say.
"More than anything," Izuku immediately repeats.
A few more tears fell from Kota's eyes, but he was quick to reach up and wipe them away. "I…I miss them."
"And that's completely understandable," Izuku said. "You love them and want them to be really here rather than as ghosts."
Kota nodded, then hunched his shoulders slightly as his stomach grumbled.
Izuku picked up the plate of food-he had set it aside-and handed it to Kota. "The food's a little cold by now, but I brought you some."
Kota took the plate. "T-Thank you."
"No problem," Izuku said. "Well, I'd better go eat myself-wanna stay here and think about everything for a bit?"
Kota nodded, then paused. "But…can I come sit by you later? When you're sitting to the side?"
"Of course!" Izuku said immediately. "Well, see you later, then." With that, he got up and walked back down the mountain side and sat next to Shoto…
"Everything good?" Shoto asked, blinking at Izuku, who immediately looked at him…and let his eyes well up with tears.
"That hurt," Izuku whispered.
"Like, physically, or…" Shoto trailed off.
"His parents never left him and just wanted to talk to him-I won't go too much into it, but most of the Sides are crying right now-that wasn't a fun conversation to have," Izuku said.
Shoto blinked, then reached over and pulled Izuku into a side hug as he took another bite. "Gotcha. Not gonna pry, but let me know if you need anything," Shoto said.
Izuku smiled at him. "Thank you."
….
"What are those worksheets for?"
Izuku looked to his side to see Kota sitting down next to him-his eyes were still a little red, but he looked like he was done crying.
"Oh, they're analysis," Izuku said. "I'm learning about quirks so I can use them, too."
"You can do that?" Kota asked.
"Yep!" Izuku said. "One of the ghosts I have a contract with has a copy quirk, but I can only copy quirks that I understand."
"Really?" Kota asked.
"Yep!" Izuku said. "So, I train for a bit, then I study quirks for a bit, and I'm going back and forth for all of camp."
"That's gonna be so powerful…it's gonna make sure you don't die," Kota said, the last part barely audible.
(the writer over here is writing this during class and trying not to cry-)
"Yep-and it's going to help me save so many people," Izuku said. "Myself, too." He smiled down at the worksheet. "Yui's quirk has already gotten me out of so many sticky situations-saved my life here and there, too."
"Really?" Kota asked.
"Yep!" Izuku said. "I'm really lucky to have a contract with her."
"What all quirks can you use?" Kota asked. "Like, what are all your contracts?"
"I have sixteen contracts," Izuku said. "Yui has Advanced Copy. Odin has three quirks, actually-she has a voice quirk, wings, and a strength quirk."
"Three quirks?" Kota asked. "I didn't know people could have three."
Izuku smiled. "Odin's pretty special like that." He nodded over at where Shoto was training, and Kota did, too. "Shoto over there has two quirks-ice and fire, it's really cool, but most people only really have one."
"And the rest?" Kota asked.
"Yumio has an analysis quirk-it doesn't usually work, and none of us know why, but when it does, he can see how someone's quirk works," Izuku said. "Then there's Dasu, he can make solid illusions, but they disappear after three minutes. Duke can make weapons. Darnell has a snake mutation and can turn into a snake."
"Woah, cool!" Kota said.
"Do you like snakes?" Izuku asked.
"Yeah," Kota said.
"Most people don't-it's nice that some people still like them," Izuku said. "Then there's Brazen-his quirk is called Cloud, he can make clouds that people can sit on and such. Emory can see people's emotions, but it gives us a headache, so I don't usually have it on. Kamari can make food and drinks-like this." Izuku held out his hand, flicked his wrist, and then he was holding a donut. He broke it in half and handed one half to Kota, who gladly took it and bit down. "Then there's Darlina-her quirk is called Float-pretty self-explanatory. Hirah has horns and a demon-like form. Dot can make others fall asleep. I'm using Yuki's quirk right now, it's called Endless Energy-it's been a few days since I've slept, and I haven't felt tired at all."
"Lucky-being tired sucks," Kota said.
"Yeah," Izuku said.
"Almost all of them?" Kota asked.
"Yep-three more," Izuku said. "Hinata's quirk is called Occupy-if I'm in a building, I can control the building, or just the room I'm in."
"Woah," Kota said. "And the last two?"
Izuku smiled. "Paz and Hex don't have quirks-well, not exactly. Paz has swords, and Hex has a bow and arrows. They can fight with me, but they can't right now."
"...why can't they fight?" Kota asked.
"My quirk is being weird-normally, I can have my ghosts stand next to me so others can see them, and they fight alongside me," Izuku said.
"Cool," Kota said.
"Yeah!" Izuku said. "But my quirk isn't doing that right now-otherwise I would've used it to make your…well, your parents visible earlier."
"Oh," Kota said, then paused for a few seconds. "Can…can you do that? When your quirk is doing that again?"
"Of course," Izuku said immediately, then glanced over at the two ghosts nearby, who both nodded eagerly.
Kota gave him a small smile, then looked at the other hero students. "Uh…who is everyone, and what are their quirks?"
…I couldn't have Dabi anymore, but I needed SOMETHING, so here you go, this random villain exists to get captured here so I never have to look at their existence again, Vatra, Bosnian for "fire" according to google because I still needed a forest fire. Also, I'm only describing the villains for a refresher for me…
"Is everyone ready?"
Vatra looked at her teammates-a tiny blonde girl named Toga with an obsession for blood, an odd man named Twice who was…actually, Vatra was unsure how to feel about Twice. Then, there was Spinner, Mr. Compress, Magne, Mustard (who was honestly too young to be doing this, but Vatra wasn't going to complain about another ally), Moonfish (who was just plain creepy), as well as a Nomu provided.
Wait…
Vatra groaned. "Where is he?"
"He's gonna be a little late."
"Ugh-we can't wait much longer," Vatra grumbled, looking over the forest, her hand itching to set it aflame. "I want to deal with those brats now."
"Patience, Vatra. You'll get your time to shine brightly-you just have to wait a little longer…"
…..sorry in advance for writing the others in B bad, I'm going off the fan wiki and my months-old memory of the arc for personalities and trying my best…..
"Alright, everyone, tonight we're doing a test of courage, Class A vs Class B."
Everyone immediately started whispering among themselves, some excited, some more nervous (and, in the distance, Monoma, Kirishima, and Sato were groaning as they were again dragged off to the remedial course, I'm finding it great that literally only three people failed here-), but everyone anticipating the next instructions.
"Everyone will be split into teams of two in 1-A, and there will be one person solo in 1-B," Pixie-Bob said happily. "First, 1-B will be hidden within an area of the forest, and their goal is to scare 1-A, who's goal is to find cards with their names on it-they won't be too hard to find. Then, once all of 1-A's groups are done, we'll switch it around and 1-B will go through the forest. Everyone ok with that?"
"Yeah!" everyone said.
"Alright, 1-B, follow me-we'll have markings around the area, but we have specific spots for cards in mind that will change between rounds," Pixie-Bob said, then led the class through the forest.
"While that's getting setup, how about we split you all into teams?" Ragdoll said. "Do you want to pick, or should I pick?"
Almost immediately, most of the class latched onto each other or were quick to match up.
Izuku had been standing next to Kacchan, and mostly, he was leaning against the other, Endless Energy already starting to wear out-he'd be sleeping tonight for sure, but he was awake enough to participate in all of this, but with a little less enthusiasm than normal.
(I'm not going to describe the rest of the pairs because I don't really remember or care).
"And…everyone do your best!" Ragdoll said, gesturing to the area.
With that, everyone started to span out to wander around the area and find their cards.
Izuku yawned and rubbed at his eyes as the two walked through the forest.
"You shoulda slept today, nerd," Kacchan said.
"It's training, Kacchan-gotta push myself," Izuku said, then shook his head before holding his hand out and using Kamari's quirk to make some coffee, sipping on it with a smile.
"Aren't you not supposed to have that?" Kacchan asked.
Izuku shrugged. "Caffeine gives me energy, and with Endless Energy, that's probably overkill. But if I'm tired, this should do the trick and keep Kamari from making me sleep."
"Got that right, love," Kamari muttered, taking a long drink of the coffee. "Aw, yeeesh, the good kush." (two points if you get that, I think I spelled it right, but I'm as tired as Izuku and not willing to find the vine and see if I'm right.)
"...what the f***," Kacchan muttered, shaking his head-
There was a rustling in the leaves behind them, and Kacchan, on instinct, spun around, hands already popping.
Izuku just blinked as he stared straight forward, then tipped the coffee back and chugged the rest before making the cup disappear and cracking his knuckles.
"Sup," Izuku said, staring right at a member of Class B. "Shihai Kuroiro-I can see you-and that's…Kodai over there, based on several factors-interesting quirks, mind if we ask a few questions?"
Both students immediately paused and just stared at Izuku-Kacchan did, too.
"...what the f***," Kacchan muttered.
"That…how did you even see us?" Kurorio asked, concerned.
"You aren't even looking in my direction," Kodai said blankly.
"Yeah, but the leaves suddenly sounded bigger-really cool quirk-and your eyes are still visible when you change into a different object, Kuroiro," Izuku said. "Either way, you two happen to know where our cards are?"
There was silence for a few seconds.
"Uh…no…" Kuoiro said.
"Truth-let's keep going, Kacchan," Izuku said, grabbing Kacchan's arm and dragging him further. "Can't exactly just use Search to find our cards, but the area's only so big.
….
"So they scared easily," Kodai muttered as two students-Kaminari and Mina, if she remembered correctly-ran off screaming.
"That was so cool!" Kendo said, ever the class rep, and Honenuki nodded.
Kodai shrugged-
"What the-" Honenuki started to say as he fainted, and Kendo and Kodai immediately looked around, seeing smoke appearing-
"Don't inhale the smoke-it must be poisonous!" Kendo said, her quirk quickly activating to protect the three-this wasn't the quirk of a Class A or B student, what was this-
Villains.
…..
"Smoke-that's not good," Ragdoll said, then looked at the students. "You all stay here, I'll go-"
"I don't think so."
The class turned to see two people-
The students quickly got ready to attack as they spotted a lizard-like man and a muscular red-haired woman.
"Villains," Sero said, already preparing to fight alongside his classmates.
…
Villain attack!
Aizawa immediately tensed up, as did the others as the students whispered among themselves, Monoma looking more terrified than Kirishima and Sato, who already looked prepared to get up and fight-
"Protect the students!" Aizawa ordered Vlad King before leaving the building-Vlad could keep the three students safe-hell, the three students could keep themselves safe enough in a pinch-at least, Aizawa trusted Kirishima and Sato, despite failing, and Monoma could fend for himself, too, hopefully-
That's bad.
There was smoke rising-a forest fire? All the students were in there-he had to-!
"You aren't one of our targets-but maybe you know where they are."
Aizawa immediately spun, capture weapon whipping out to grab onto a villain-he'd never seen this villain before, a woman, pitch-black hair and cloak, a smirk on her face that quickly fell as Aizawa activated his quirk, the fire in her hands already fizzling out.
"I guess you started that forest fire," Aizawa growled lowly, gripping his capture weapon tightly. "With my students in that forest-and you said something about a target?" Oh, this villain-and likely others, oh sh*t-was going to regret this.
….
Villain attack!
Immediately, Izuku felt more aware, the crawling sensation in his brain making him more aware as Kacchan paused-they were both holding their cards and were walking back.
Villains.
Do you think Tenko is here?
Doesn't matter. We'll beat them to the ground-
Wait, didn't Kota walk off before the exercise started.
….SH*T!
"F*ck, f*ck, f*ck," Izuku muttered.
"What?" Kacchan said.
"Kota's alone-have to help him-I know where he is," Izuku muttered, panic and anxiety, fear, anger, everything bubbled up in his chest-
"Well, don't just stand here-go get the kid!" Kacchan said. "I can handle myself."
"Right," Izuku said, wings popping out of his back as he took off.
…
Kendo, carrying Kodai and Honenuki, nearly yelped as she barely avoided running into Tetsutetsu and Shiozaki, who were wearing…gas masks? Where did they get those? That was a very smart idea.
"You're safe," Kendo breathed a sigh of relief.
"Yeah-Yaoyorozu is nearby making gas masks-you guys go get some," Tetstetusu said.
"I can take Honenuki," Shiozaki said, gently using her vines to take the unconscious student from Kendo, who, while she could keep going, was grateful.
"Awase is helping some of the other students to the safe zone," Tetsutetsu said as Yaoyorozu came through the woods, having heard them, and was quick to shove gas-masks at them. Kendo smiled, then slipped the mask on, helping get one on Honenuki as well.
"We should all head back to the facility," Kendo says.
"You go on ahead-I'll see what I can do," Tetsutetsu said. "You guys head back."
"Wait, why?" Kendo asked. "That's dangerous-"
"There are still other students in there-I can't just leave them," Tetsutetsu said confidently, then turned to get back into the fight, Yaoyorozu hot on his heels as the two ran into the gas, masks secure on their faces-
"I'll run Honenuki to the safe area-the two of you join the fight," Shiozaki said, then quickly rushed off.
Kendo and Kodai exchanged a look, then nodded and followed Tetsutetsu and Yaoyorozu.
….
Izuku appeared just in the nick of time, as it appears, because as soon as he was over the edge of that cliff, he was diving for Kota, barely even registering what the villain looked like as he lashed out-Blackwhip, it can't trap ghosts, but this guy isn't one, he's alive-with Blackwhip, intent on capturing the villain-
The villain quickly overcame the quirk and just laughed as Izuku held Kota tightly, his wings already starting to disappear-I can't fly away, we have to take this guy out here and now, and based on how strong he looks, he could easily tear one of my wings off, which is not good in any sense of the word-as he slid back slightly from the momentum of his dive, his glare never leaving the villain-
"Be careful!" Eimi said-right, of course, those two are here, too. "That's Muscular-he's the one that killed us."
"Right," Izuku muttered, his eyes never leaving the villain in front of him.
"Hmm, you came right to me-you're on the list," Muscular said-what list, that's concerning, doesn't matter, take him out here and now.
"Kota, back away from this and leave the fight to me," Izuku said, gently using cloud to lower Kota down before rushing him away as Muscular shot forward.
"You're on the list, but that doesn't mean I can't play around a bit, so show me blood!" Muscular said as he barreled into Izuku, knocking him down, but Izuku was quick to activate the strength quirk and punch back-
It didn't do anything, really-his strength quirk is greater than ours, no time to learn his-Disconnect? Do we use Disconnect? DO YOU THINK WE HAVE A CHOICE?!
Izuku reached forward with Disconnect-wrong, wrong, I can't use this, I can't-wait, why can't I-
Disconnect…didn't activate. At all.
USE ERASURE!
Izuku skidded to a stop and started to activate Aizawa-sensei's quirk, but Muscular was too fast, causing Izuku to blink from the force as Muscular hit him hard, causing Izuku to slam into the side of the mountain-
Izuku slammed his fist into the mountain and brought out a long spear, forcing it into the villain's side-no bleeding, the muscle tissue just moved around it, but this is life or death, this villain has no reservations about killing-if we die here, Kota will die, too, and how many of our classmates?
"Oh, that's how it is," Muscular said, punching Izuku in the stomach and causing Izuku to cough up blood. "Blood! This is great! It's what I wanted! This is so fun! You'd better keep bleeding-"
Izuku grabbed onto Muscular's muscle tissue forming, activated Odin's quirk, and tore.
Muscular screamed as blood dripped down his side, and he momentarily staggered back to try to stop the bleeding-
Izuku brought his legs up and kicked at the wound as hard as he possibly could, and Muscular screamed again.
"You're a hero student-do you enjoy violence like this?" Muscular asked. "Fighting dirty's just my style!"
"It's a fight-there's no such thing as fighting dirty," Izuku said as the Sides were quickly going over the quirks in their arsenal.
We have to keep using One for All. Let's add Fa Jin-Third User's quirk, builds up kinetic energy with repeating regular motions, we'll just have to keep up trying to build it up, using it and converting Endless Energy into kinetic energy-Yumio, Yuki, get on it, we're desperate here-that should be enough, but only if we can pull it off.
Then let's do this.
Izuku took a deep breath, then fired up One for All as he felt Yui fire up Fa Jin, and Yuki start pushing Endless Energy to the limit-the moment that they were out of here, they would be running purely off adrenaline and caffeine-and they'd definitely be drinking more coffee and maybe even an energy drink and hoping and praying that that would be enough.
Muscular roared with laughter as the bleeding stopped-
"You can't do this alone."
Izuku barely had time to be surprised at those words before Muscular was on top of him, and Izuku easily jumped to the side, feeling the kinetic energy start to build up as he moved around, dodging Muscular's attacks.
"He killed the two of us-there were others there, too," Eimi said as Kai rushed over to Kota-there wasn't anything the parent ghosts could do to protect the child, unless- "How do you make a contract so we can fight alongside you? You told Kota that your ghosts can, but they're trapped-we aren't, we can help."
…HOLY SH*T.
Izuku dodged Muscular again, and Muscular laughed.
"Not gonna punch back?" Muscular asked. "At least try to make this a challenge! You were being so fun just a moment ago!"
To make a contract, we'd have to stop gathering energy from Fa Jin for a moment-can we store it with Endless Energy?
…did we just gain a powerup? Odin, we should've been using Fa Jin much sooner.
I guess we'll proceed to use it often. Pair it with Endless Energy-if we can-and we'll be unstoppable.
Izuku smirked. Try it. Take some of the gathered energy-
Got it.
Alright. There is no drama in this. (one point if you get the reference).
FOCUS ON THE FIGHT AND NOT REFERENCES!
That said, make the contracts-hopefully, we'll have at least one, probably two, people fighting alongside us to give us an upper hand to defeat this guy-
And, looking out over the forest, we're gonna want those water quirks.
…oh f*ck.
MOM CURSED!
STOP WITH THIS AND GET IT DONE!
"I'm gonna wipe that smirk off your face," Muscular said, but Izuku just ignored him as he leapt to the side, then looked at Eimi.
"To make a contract, I have to give you a name, then we have to touch," Izuku said, holding out his hand.
"Who are you talking to?" Muscular asked, looking to the side. "Are you talking to the kid? I can kill the kid-that would make this more interesting-"
"Eimi-please, just, can you do that?" Eimi said.
Pulling a Gabiru, I guess. (two points if you get the reference)
"Eimi!" Izuku said, leaping forward and grabbing Eimi's hand-
A magenta thread appeared out of Izuku's wrist and wrapped around Eimi's wrist, quickly making her visible, and it also made her younger, a magenta version of her hero uniform on her, as well as her helmet being white.
Eimi Izumi-Midoriya, the usual voice. Izuku's Confidence. Izuku's quirk makes him able to create and share Lifeforce. By giving Eimi's name new meaning, Izuku made a contract, thus naming another Light Side, giving Eimi a room in the Light Mind Palace. Eimi is able to consume some of Izuku's supply of Lifeforce, and in exchange, Izuku can use part of Eimi's quirk. This also allows the two to communicate. The voice paused. Due to the disconnect in the Mind Palace, Eimi will be unable to access the Mind Palace until further notice. The contract can not be undone, either, and while Izuku is unconscious, Eimi will not be visible to others.
We can do introductions later, SAVE THE KID!
"Right," Eimi said, then darted forward, and Izuku quickly reached forward with Inko's quirk and pulled Muscular off-balance enough for Eimi to rush forward and put herself in between the two, and Izuku rushed forward as well-
"Me, too!" Kai said.
"Kai!" Izuku said, reaching forward and grabbing Kai's hand, this time a turquoise thread appearing, and Kai went through the same process, his uniform now turquoise with a gray helmet.
Kai Izumi-Midoriya, the usual voice. Izuku's Calm. Izuku's quirk makes him able to create and share Lifeforce. By giving Kai's name new meaning, Izuku made a contract, thus naming another Neutral Side, giving Kai a room in the Neutral Mind Palace, but as he is married to Eimi, the room will be the same one, but with an exit in each Mind Palace. Kai is able to consume some of Izuku's supply of Lifeforce, and in exchange, Izuku can use part of Kai's quirk. This also allows the two to communicate. The voice paused. Due to the disconnect in the Mind Palace, Kai will be unable to access the Mind Palace until further notice. The contract can not be undone, either, and while Izuku is unconscious, Kai will not be visible to others.
"I understand," Kai said, getting ready to fight.
"...Mom…Dad?" Kota said, clearly about to sob.
"It's ok, sweetie," Eimi said. "This villain won't hurt you as long as we're here."
"Ah, I remember the two of you!" Muscular exclaimed. "The Water Hose Duo-the two that took my eye! I never thought we would meet again!"
"This will be the last," Eimi said confidently.
Do we have a plan?
I have a quirk copied right now called Fa Jin. We're using it to add to Endless Energy to keep us wide awake, as well as gather up strength that should hopefully do the trick in taking this guy down. Otherwise, if I could get just a moment to activate Erasure without having to blink so quickly-Disconnect isn't working right now for some reason, so we're going to have to figure out another way to get about this-
Let's copy Momo's quirk and make quirk suppressant cuffs.
Figure out the formula if you can, Yumio.
I am already on it.
Good.
"Show me blood!" Muscular said, then darted forward.
Kai was quick to scoop up Kota and dodge to the side as Izuku and Eimi dodged the other way, Izuku already using Fa Jin as he jumped at Muscular, a little bit of energy building up and being just enough to cause Muscular to stumble as some of the energy from earlier was added back quick, and Muscular was clearly surprised as he stumbled-
-back into Kai, who grabbed onto some muscles and tore at them, causing the villain to start to turn around as Kota hid his face in his dad's shoulder-
Eimi quickly grabbed onto Muscular, as did Izuku, but instead of tearing, the two threw him into the side of the mountain as Izuku jumped-quick to activate Vlad King's quirk, Blood Control, he was already bleeding-and creating a blood platform in the air, using it to change course and increase his kinetic energy as he fired up Odin's quirk, adding in energy-use Dot's quirk, let's put this guy to sleep-as he leapt at Muscular, hitting him in the side of the head before unleashing Dot's quirk and causing the villain to go unconscious-quick!-before quickly copying Momo's quirk and making quirk suppressors, slamming them around the villain's wrists-
Then Izuku collapsed onto the ground.
"You alright?" Eimi asked, quickly at Izuku's side as Kai rushed forward, too.
"That was more energy than I had to use," Izuku said. "If not for Fa Jin and the coffee I was drinking, I'd be out cold right now." He reached his hand out and made another cup of coffee, chugging it before wincing and sighing, getting up. "We have to get to the campsite…then we have to keep moving, there's a forest fire happening-can I leave that to you two while I focus on my classmates?"
"Roger that," Eimi said, then stopped and looked at Kota, who was looking back and forth between his parents with tears in his eyes. Quickly, Eimi was at her son and husband's side, and both of them were hugging the child.
"M-Mom, d-dad," Kota sobbed.
"It's ok, it's ok-we're here," Kai said softly as Izuku smiled at the scene.
"Y-You-I missed you," Kota said.
"And we've missed you, too," Kai said softly. "We never wanted to leave you, and I'm so sorry that we had to."
"Let's get you back to Shino, ok?" Eimi asked. "She'll keep you safe."
"N-No-I wanna stay with you!" Kota said. "I-I have a water quirk, too-I can help!"
"We don't want you to be in danger, Kota," Eimi said.
"I won't be with you guys," Kota said.
(I never cry, how many times is this fic intent on making me almost break out sobbing this week?!)
The two exchanged a look-
We'll go to Mandalay and the facility to drop off Muscular-once that's over with, you two need to stay away from villains as much as possible-spend time with your kid, you of all people know that time is precious.
"...ok, Kota," Kai said with a small smile, then looked at Izuku. "Need help with Muscular?"
Izuku looked at the villain, then looked at Eimi. "We should be able to drag him to the facility at least." With that, he grabbed one of Muscular's arms, and Eimi grabbed the other as the group started to make their way down the mountain.
….
Aizawa was not expecting the villain to dissolve into a puddle of goo, but he was glad to see Iida, Ojiro, Shinsou, and Koda arrive, telling them to get into the building as he started to run off into the forest-
But it wasn't long before he ran into Izuku, two people that looked…familiar-were they villains? No, heroes, they were heroes-one holding Kota, and they were…dragging a villain behind them.
"Aizawa-sensei!" Izuku said, sounding relieved.
"Problem Child-what's going on here?" Aizawa asked, getting ready to attack-
…why were there two strings attached to Izuku's wrists, matching ones on the two…heroes, one holding Kota-
Wait.
Izuku chuckled nervously. "Uh…I made two more ghost contracts? Don't have time-gotta drop off this guy, forest fire-water quirks here, Eimi and Kai, plus Kota, are gonna go take care of that-gotta go find classmates, more villains-this one was really strong, Muscular-I'm gonna hard pass out once the adrenaline and caffeine wear off, starting to get quirk exhaustion, don't experience that often-"
"Slow down-what happened?" Aizawa demanded.
"Villain fight, ghost contracts, long story-tell you later," Izuku said. "Eimi, Kai, and Kota are gonna put out the fires-"
"I'll meet up with you two in a bit-we should finish getting this villain to a more secure location," Eimi said, looking at Kai and Kota before she and Izuku continued on their way-
"Wait," Aizawa said. "Izuku, can you contact Mandalay-better yet, can you contact everyone, the students and the heroes here? I need you to relay a message…"
…
Aizawa-sensei is giving all the students from 1-A and 1-B permission to fight-defend yourselves, and if you can, take out villains when possible, but your safety is the top priority.
Kacchan scoffed as he let off an explosion at the weird teeth villain, stepping back slightly as Icy-Hot let out a wave of ice-he should be taking care of the forest fire, but the villains won't let him step away to do that-whatever, their classmates were strong enough to keep themselves safe, and if 1-B couldn't say the same…whatever.
"Careful about your fire-we don't know if that gas is flammable!" Shoto warned.
"Tch," Kacchan said-as if he'd let himself be useless here-
Wait. If it was flammable-no, there could be classmates in there. So he'd just have to be careful.
…
Izuku flinched slightly as he started to use Search, glad that he'd asked, feeling every part of him starting to get exhausted, but he had to keep going-
He made an energy drink appear and was quick to down it-alright, there was someone around here-
A giant shadow appeared out of nowhere, and Izuku jumped to the side, barely avoiding it-wait, he knew that shadow, it was Dark Shadow, which meant Tokoyami was near here, too!
"Dark Shadow!" Tokoyami said, but he sounded like he was in distress-that wasn't good, that wasn't good-
"Izuku, thank quirks, use light!" Shoji shouted from close by.
Advanced Copy is out for the count-we don't have a light quirk!
Odin, any light-related songs?!
Neon Lights by Demi Lovato!
"Baby, when they look up at the sky,
We'll be shooting stars just passing by,
You'll be comin' home with me tonight,
And we'll be burning up like neon lights
Neon lights, neon lights, neon lights!" Izuku quickly sang, and the clearing was bright-
Dark Shadow screeched a little, then retreated back to a relieved Tokoyami, and Izuku and Shoji instantly rushed over to him.
"Shoji, are you ok?" Tokoyami spit out as the two helped him on his feet.
"Hmm-oh ghosts!" Izuku said, finally seeing the state that Shoji was in-one of his limbs was…
"I'll be fine-it'll regenerate soon," Shoji said.
"I-I can help," Izuku said, reaching out and taking a breath to sing-
Then, Izuku coughed and sunk down a little lower.
It's not just Advanced Copy-we're exhausting LIfe Force in general. This can't be good.
"G-Gotta," Izuku mumbled.
"I'll be fine-are you alright?" Shoji said, giving Izuku a worried look.
"Just quirk exhaustion-more villains, gotta take care of them," Izuku said, then looked at Dark Shadow, who looked really upset. Izuku paused for a few seconds, then reached out and pet Dark Shadow. "How about we unleash some of that rage on villains directly? Two…"
"You can say it," Tokoyami said.
"...two birds with one stone, I am so sorry," Izuku said.
"It's just an expression-let's get going," Tokoyami said.
"Bakugou and Shoto are nearby-we got separated when that villain with the teeth showed up," Shoji said.
"Villain with the-you know what, perfect timing, let's go fight him," Izuku said.
…..
Mandalay grunted as she jumped out of the way of the attack-this wasn't looking good, this guy-who had introduced himself as Spinner and was spitting something out about Stain-was not an easy opponent, and wasn't responding to Mandalay's quirk, either.
"Stain would not consider you a true hero-you'll die here!" Spinner said, lashing forward with his sword-
The hit never connected. Instead, there was someone else standing there.
"What?!" Spinner said at the sudden appearance of someone else, wearing…a uniform that Mandalay knew, but it wasn't the right color-at least, not quite. But she still knew exactly who was standing in front of her.
"Need some help, cous?" Eimi asked, looking at Mandalay with a smile. "Kai, you help Tiger-I've got this one."
"Kota, you stay right here-this'll be quick," Kai said, then rushed into the fight.
…..
The battle turned in their favor immediately after a rampaging Dark Shadow burst through the trees and started to attack the tooth villain.
Shoto and Katsuki immediately jumped back as Dark Shadow started destroying the villain's teeth.
"There you guys are," Izuku said as he, Tokoyami, and Shoji came out through the trees, Tokoyami looking like he wasn't doing that well with Dark Shadow like this, but the three still walked over to the two-
Izuku almost immediately fell forward, and Shoto was quick to catch him.
"We should really get you back to camp, Izuku," Shoji said worriedly.
"I'm…little longer," Izuku said. "More people out here…more villains. There's one causing a fire, gotta stop him-Eimi and Kai are putting the fires out-"
"Who?" Shoji asked, and Katsuki immediately tensed up, then quickly reached forward and grabbed Izuku's hand, almost yanking it forward to show two strings around his wrist.
"No f*cking way," Katsuki grumbled. "You're kidding."
"Water quirks, needed backup that wasn't Kota…" Izuku mumbled.
"...it's been fifteen minutes-what the flying f*ck did you get into in fifteen minutes?!" Katsuki exclaimed.
"Too much," Izuku said. "Gonna pass out from quirk exhaustion later, I'm literally running off Fa Jin, caffeine, and adrenaline-and Fa Jin wore off a bit ago."
"The f*ck-we can worry about that later, whatever," Katsuki grumbled. "Go to sleep-Arms, can you carry him back to camp?"
"Can't sleep-Eimi and Kai are using their quirks to put out the fire, they'll disappear if I fall asleep," Izuku muttered.
"Can we get some light-Dark Shadow won't stay at bay for much longer," Tokoyami said, and they all quickly looked to see Dark Shadow smash the tooth villain through several trees, knocking him unconscious before carrying him back and tossing him near the group of students-
Katzuki and Shoto quickly used their quirks, shrinking Dark Shadow down, but unlike earlier, they kept their quirks going, keeping Dark Shadow calm before Katsuki picked up the tooth villain, Shoto adjusting Tsuburaba onto his back-the B student had been passed out when they'd gotten there, needed to get out of the gas.
…
Of course, getting out of the gas couldn't be that easy, but thankfully, at least as they walked, they ran into Uraraka and Tsu, fighting a villain that looked…way too young, and was taking Uraraka's blood. The villain was quick to run off, and after that, everything started to become a blur as another villain appeared and turned Tokoyami into a marble-
The group started to fight to get Tokoyami back, the villain, introducing himself as Mr. Compress, stating that Tokoyami would make a perfect recruit, even if he wasn't who they came here for-
"But, rest assured, I will be taking our target, so would you be so kind?"
"Target?" Uraraka muttered.
"Uraraka, take this guy," Shoto said, and Uraraka quickly did as Shoto was quick to throw an ice wall at the villain.
Mr. Compress dodged the attack and smirked as his eyes zeroed in on Izuku, who was slipping off Shoji's back to take the unconscious B student from Uraraka since he couldn't fight right now-
"Ah, Izuku Midoriya, glad to see our target is within my grasp," Mr. Compress said-
Suddenly, there was someone behind the group, before any of them could move, grabbing Izuku, and, before anyone could say anything, Izuku and this villain-a woman with black hair-was handing him to Mr. Compress with a smile-
…
DANGER DANGER.
Eimi and Kai both jumped before looking at the two villains that were taken down.
"Mom? Dad? Is something wrong?" Kota asked, rushing over and latching onto Kai's leg.
"Eimi? Kai?" Mandalay asked. "You're…what's happening?"
"Made a contract with Izuku-makes us visible-Odin, what's happening?" Kai asked, confused.
Izuku's about to fall unconscious-don't pick Kota up-OH SH*T-!
Both of them jumped, looked at each other, then looked at Mandalay.
"Izuku-" Eimi started, and the two disappeared-
-or, well, they were still there, but they knew the moment that they were no longer visible, the moment that they were back to being ghosts as Kota's hand passed through Kai's leg.
"-is in trouble," Eimi finished quietly.
…
It had taken a bit, but Aizawa had managed to take down the real fire villain (she had said something about sending another clone to fight him, but had wanted the pleasure of taking down the underground hero herself…idiot), knocking her unconscious and dragging her next to Muscular, giving Vlad King a tired nod as he grabbed a pair of quirk-canceling cuffs-the Wild Wild Pussycats had a few pairs lying around.
"Aizawa-sensei, can we fight, too?" Shinsou asked, and Aizawa gave him a tired look.
"No," Aizawa said. "We don't know why they're here-I need you to stay safe and keep an eye on these villains-Vlad, keep them safe-I have to go find the others-"
Something's wrong.
Almost immediately, Aizawa was out of the door and rushing to go find Mandalay-why couldn't she be more specific? Where was she? Last he knew, she was-
There!
Aizawa quickly got to the clearing where Mandalay and Tiger-plus Kota-were, watching a slight purple mist vanish-Kurogiri had just been here, not touching the two heroes and kid-what-
"What happened?" Aizawa asked. "Kurogiri-did he just take-"
"Two villains we had defeated-Eimi and Kai were just here-Eimi was saying something about Izuku, then the two just vanished-" Mandalay started.
"Ok, what?" Aizawa said. "So Eimi and Kai vanished, saying something about…" Wait.
"But I can't be visible when he's asleep, and I'm not about to encourage a kid to have your sleeping habits-or, well, to do that again, that was a dark year."
"I'm gonna hard pass out once the adrenaline and caffeine wear off, starting to get quirk exhaustion, don't experience that often-"
Sh*t. In the middle of a villain attack?!
"Get Kota to the cabin-you two then should see if you can find the rest of the students-I'll go see if I can find Izuku," Aizawa said, then ran off as fast as he could-he had to find the kid, he had to find the kid, he had to find the kid-
It wasn't long before Aizawa stumbled upon a group of his students, just…staring at a single spot. There were no villains in sight-but were they ok?! Shoji-that didn't look good-Tokoyami was pushing himself off the ground, Shoji supporting him as they both stared at the spot, Uraraka was bleeding, there was an unconscious 1-B student-
"Is everyone alright?!" Aizawa said, scanning the students that all slowly looked at him-
All of them were crying. His students were crying.
"What happened?" Aizawa asked. "Uraraka, you're bleeding-let's get you all back to the cabin-"
"They took him, Aizawa-sensei," Shoji said softly.
…no.
"Took who?" Aizawa-sensei asked, fearing the worst, fearing the worst-Izuku's unconscious somewhere, he was undergoing quirk exhaustion, please tell me he's around here somewhere-no student should be missing, no student should be gone-
Suddenly, Bakugou threw his head back and wailed out, "IZUKU!"
I feel evil. But, granted, you knew this was coming.
The League wanted Bakugou because he seemed villainous, but remember, he wasn't the one that won the Sports Festival…and I believe I remember Izuku mentioning his hatred of All Might, not to mention that he basically played the main witness in taking Endeavor down…
Well, I'll see you guys soon! Maybe. Hopefully. Don't trust that, it's me.
