Another frequent request I get is for Ash and Misty focused installments. Here's a fun one I came up with while watching an episode of Sun and Moon the other day! Ash is apparently very prone to falling asleep while watching TV ;)

Movie Night

"Are you excited for tonight?"

Ash nervously looked up from his dessert, locking eyes with his excited wife. "Uh, yeah! Super excited!"

Misty smirked and shook her head. "You don't remember what tonight was, do you?"

Almost instantly, Ash's shoulders deflated. "No idea."

Misty giggled and pulled out the chair next to Ash, sitting down beside him and leaning on the table. "We were going to watch a movie together! It's been so long since we've done that; I thought it'd be fun!"

"Yeah, it does sound fun!" Ash chuckled. "I do remember talking about that earlier this week, come to think of it."

"It'd probably be more exciting to go to a movie theater, but it's hard to get out of the house with the baby," Misty sighed.

"No way, watching movies at home is so awesome!" Ash argued. "You can have as many pillows and blankets as you want, and you have a couch instead of a seat, so you can spread out wherever…also, you can pause it if you have to go to the bathroom."

Misty playfully rolled her eyes. "Not bad points."

"But you do have to have popcorn to really make it fun," Ash conceded, eyeing his wife. "Do you have popcorn?"

"Yeah, I made sure of it," Misty snickered. "But are you really going to have room for it after stuffing your face full of cake?"

Ash glanced down at his near clean plate and then back up at Misty. "Do you really think I'm not going to have room?"

"Fine, it was a stupid question," Misty admitted.

"Nah, you're just looking out for me!" Ash replied, winking at her. "I appreciate it."

Misty giggled before getting up from her seat. "Well, I'll start getting the living room ready!"

"Great!" Ash cheered, using his fork to pick up the final bite of cake and shove it in his mouth. "And I'll wash this off for ya!"

He jumped up as well and was taken a bit off guard when Misty chastely kissed his cheek. When he turned to look at her, however, she had already scurried out of the room. The Pokémon Master chuckled to himself and carried his plate over to the sink, turning on the faucet to begin washing the dish.

Spending alone time with Misty was one of his favorite things to do. Even as an adult, Ash still had quite the adventurous streak to him, so he would've loved to take her out somewhere to do something fun. With two kids and a baby sleeping in the house, however, it wasn't always feasible, so staying in and watching a movie worked for him just fine.

Plus, Pikachu was already upstairs with the kids, meaning if the couple wanted to get a little frisky, they were totally in the clear!

That idea alone was getting Ash excited. With the plate now clean, he loaded it into the drying rack beside the sink and charged into the living room, a big smile on his face.

"So, what movie are we gonna watch?" Ash asked.

Misty, who was just finishing pulling a blanket off the back of the couch, looked over her shoulder at her husband. "Oh, I'm not sure. I haven't had a chance to look at what they have! I don't even know what movies have come out lately. If it doesn't have to do with animated Pokémon who sing and dance, I don't know about it."

Ash playfully wagged his eyebrows at her. "Want to watch one of those?"

"Absolutely not," Misty was quick to respond, a hint of panic in her voice. "If another one of those songs gets stuck in my head, I'm going to have Gyarados hit me with a hyper beam straight on."

Laughing, Ash picked up the remote and turned the TV on. "Alright, I'll find something a little less- "

"Ear splitting?" Misty interrupted, smirking at him.

"Yeah, that," Ash chuckled. He started scrolling through the list of new releases, stopping when one of them caught his interest. "Hey, the new Wonder Fighters is on here! Wanna watch that one?"

"Sure, that sounds good," Misty sighed, settling in besides Ash on the couch.

"Wait!" Ash cried, alarming her. "What about the popcorn?!"

"You seriously want it right now?" Misty asked, obviously bewildered. "You just finished off a whole slice of cake!"

"Yeah, but that was nothing," Ash replied effortlessly. "We can't watch a movie without popcorn!"

Misty groaned and stood back up again. "Alright, fine. I'll go get the popcorn. Don't start the movie without me!"

"I won't, promise!" Ash chirped, saluting her to affirm his point.

She rushed into the kitchen, and within a matter of minutes, returned with a bowl full of popcorn in hand. Ash grinned and reached up for it, causing Misty to smirk and yank it away from him.

"Hey!" Ash cried.

"Have some patience," Misty giggled. "I know for a fact you're not starving to death!"

"You don't know that," Ash quietly argued, a pout on his face.

Misty shook her head and sat down beside him. "Was that cake just a figment of my imagination? You seem to keep casually forgetting about it."

She reached into the bowl and threw some popcorn in her mouth. Ash scowled and reached over to grab his own handful. "Haha, very funny. I already told you that didn't fill me up!"

Misty winced as Ash downed his fist full of popcorn. "You are a bottomless pit of a man. It's honestly so gross."

"I consider it a gift," Ash chuckled, throwing in a wink for good measure. "So, should we start the movie?"

"Yeah, that's a good idea," Misty teased, reaching for the remote and hitting the play button.

She wasn't necessarily as into the Wonder Fighters series as Ash was, but they were a good enough set of movies that Misty enjoyed whenever she watched one. This new installment featured the eighth actor in the main role and his partner, a Sirfetch'd. It started off with them running out of an ancient castle made of stone, a large group of Ninjask following after them. The very sight of the bug Pokémon sent a shiver up Misty's spine, and she instinctively snuggled herself against Ash's side. He glanced over at her and chuckled, gaining her attention.

"What?" She croaked.

"They're on TV, they can't hurt you," Ash playfully reminded her.

"I know that!" Misty whined, hesitantly looking over at the screen before wincing and turning away once more. The Ninjask were still there. "But it doesn't make them any less creepy."

Ash grinned and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "Don't worry, I'll still protect you!"

Misty rolled her eyes, yet she couldn't fight the smile that was playing on her lips. The Ninjask had finally disappeared, having been fended off by the wonder fighter and his Pokémon partner. They were now boarding their aircraft, the magical orb they had taken from the castle safely in their possession.

Not long after they'd brought it to the command center, however, a loud snore tore through the air and interrupted the movie's dialogue. Misty blinked hard and looked over, finding that Ash's head was tilted back, his eyes closed and mouth wide open. Huffing, she elbowed him in the side, causing him to gasp and jolt up. "Wha- happened?!"

"You fell asleep," Misty dully replied.

"Aw man, really?" Ash groaned, rubbing his eyes.

"You never can stay awake during a movie," Misty sighed. "Or a TV show, for that matter. Baseball games get you half the time! The only thing I've never seen you fall asleep to on television is a Pokémon battle…which makes too much sense."

Ash blushed and twisted his neck. "Those are exciting."

"You're saying this isn't exciting?" Misty asked, pointing at the TV.

"No, it is!" Ash cried. "You know I love the Wonder Fighter movies!"

"Yeah, but even they can't stop you from falling asleep," Misty commented. "I really should just put on a romantic movie from now on."

"No way, those things are the worst," Ash scoffed, grabbing the remote and rewinding the movie, looking for the scene he last remembered watching.

Misty gasped, almost too dramatically. "How could you say that? They're so sweet!"

Ash slowly turned towards her, one of his eyebrows raised. "That's not the word I'd use."

"Come on," Misty halfway pleaded. "You love me; you do romantic stuff for me all the time. Those movies just amplify those kinds of things!"

"Mist, they're so cheesy," Ash chuckled. "And, I mean, not realistic at all. Plus, they end so sad half the time! So, you don't even feel good after you're done watching 'em!"

"No, some of them have a happy ending!" Misty argued. "But sometimes the sad ones are the best. They really make you think about things!"

"Like how you wish you had watched a happier movie?" Ash deadpanned.

Misty glared at Ash. "I meant about life and love and things like that. You're such a guy!"

"Nah, I just prefer to watch stuff that puts me in a good mood!" Ash laughed. "TV and movies are supposed to be fun; I don't want to watch something that's going to make me sad."

Misty sighed and rested her head on his shoulder. "You really are the most carefree person I know."

Ash's eyebrow went up once again. "Is that a bad thing?"

"No," Misty quickly replied. "It's actually a very good thing."

Ash smiled and kissed the top of her head. At that moment, the TV screen changed to reflect the main menu, causing Ash to lift his head up in bewilderment. "Why'd it do that?"

"Because you just rewound past the beginning," Misty snickered.

Ash's jaw fell open. "Seriously?! Why didn't you tell me?!"

"I wanted to see if you would notice," Misty innocently explained. "You didn't."

Ash groaned and threw his head back. "This movie night is a disaster."

Misty hummed and shrugged her shoulders. "I don't care so much about the movie as I do about spending time with you."

Ash's grin returned, and he engulfed an unsuspecting Misty into a near bone crushing hug. "Aw, Mushy Misty made an appearance tonight!"

Misty let out a half laugh, half garble. "Don't call me that! It sounds so weird!"

"Weird?" Ash repeated with a chuckle. "I like it!"

"You would," Misty scoffed.

Ash grinned and tilted his head. "Well, since movie night has been a total bust, maybe we should do something else."

"Yeah," Misty agreed before chirping, "let's go to bed."

Ash's eyes widened, and he leaned back in his seat. "Bed?! Already?!"

"Why not?" Misty teased. "You were falling asleep right here! You're obviously tired."

"I'm not," Ash muttered. "I just can't stay awake during movies!"

"Well…I'm tired," Misty conceded. "Going to bed sounds really good right about now."

Ash groaned dramatically, throwing his head back before putting it back upright. "Alright, fine. We can go to bed."

Misty giggled and pounced on Ash, kissing his nose before flying off the couch. "I knew I'd get you to agree!"

Ash got to his knees and appeared dumbfounded. "When don't I?"

Misty clutched the edge of the bannister and spun around, twisting her mouth. "Yeah, I am pretty good at that."

Playfully rolling his eyes, Ash finally climbed off the couch and approached his wife. "Alright, quit bragging! Let's head upstairs. You want to get some sleep before Elizabeth inevitably wakes you up, don't you?"

Stopping in her tracks, Misty whipped towards Ash and gently poked his chest. "Bite your tongue! She's been sleeping through the night lately!"

"I'm just saying," Ash teased in a sing-song voice.

"And I'm just saying don't jinx it," Misty quipped.

She started up the stairs once more, Ash following right after her. Chuckling lowly, he commented, "you know that's not possible, right? She's a baby. It's not like she's going to get all rebellious!"

"Okay then," Misty calmly replied, this time keeping up her pace. "So, when she inevitably wakes up, you're cool getting her, right?"

Now it was Ash's turn to freeze in place. "Hey, hold on! I've got that big meeting at work first thing in the morning!"

Misty giggled and continued flitting up the steps. "Sorry, I can't hear you! You'll have to catch up to me first!"

Ash sighed and hung his head before hurrying after his wife. "Man, I've really got to learn to stay awake during movies!"
