Chapter Four: Team Free Will 2.0

December 6th, 2017

The Bunker

Lebanon, Kansas

Early Morning

Dean woke to Cas just drawing invisible patterns into his naked chest with his fingertips. He wrapped an arm around his Angel, and they kissed. After their night last night, where Cas had taken control, Dean was sore and tired. He had wanted to remain in bed, remain sleeping in, but his brother had different ideas. Cas had been trying to get him up to watch the sunrise, and that had given him the idea to take Castiel camping. Maybe they could all go as a family. Reluctantly, Dean and Cas got up, and went to shower (together), Castiel let Dean just wash him softly, whilst he pressed light kisses all over Dean's body. Once they were out, dried and dressed, they headed to the kitchen to get Dean coffee, and then towards the library… only to walk in on Sam and Rowena basically fucking on one of the tables. Dean screamed, raising his hands to cover his eyes, forgetting that he had a mug of hot coffee, which then spilt all over him, and he shouted after scolding himself. Sam and Rowena flung apart, both redressing whilst Castiel healed Dean, the older hunter glaring at his brother and the Witch, who just grinned, refilled Dean's mug with coffee, then disappeared. As much as he wanted to hate that woman, he was kind of happy that his brother was getting some, even if it was with Rowena. Sam is a grown man; he is old enough to make sure he's being safe and all that. Putting what he had just seen aside, Dean and Cas grabbed a few books from the shelves, and placed them down on the table that Sam hadn't been having sex on. But I am definitely going to fuck Cas on one of these tables, Dean thought to himself, smirking into his coffee, placing his spare hand on Cas' thigh, making the Angel jump slightly, knocking something off the table, and forcing Dean to retreat his hand so Cas could grab it. Gabriel arrived in a flourish, holding out a box of exotic alcohol (for Dean), and some other things for the rest of their wayward family. For Castiel, he held out a new bag filled with clothing, that he said Dean won't be able to resist him in. The Angel rolled his eyes, but took the bag, thanking the former Trickster. The three of them set about going to work and had been at it for hours. It was after eight am when Mary, and Jack finally graced them with their presence, at which point, Jack noted that something was different about Dean, who just raised an eyebrow at him, turning to look at Cas who was blushing hard. Dean was about to ask, when Mary chimed in with a question and they resumed working, the question thankfully forgotten.

After working for what felt like days… but was only four hours, Dean demanded a break. Sam sighed, slamming the book he was reading closed, and leaning back in his chair, rubbing a hand down his face. So far, they haven't anything that will help them out. Gabriel and Cas shared a look, then the Seraphim sighed, sitting back in his chair, fiddling with his hands, in his lap. Dean had come back from getting beers for everyone and saw Cas looking like a kicked puppy. He immediately went to blame Gabriel, until he saw the Archangel had a hand on his brother's shoulder, almost in a comforting gesture. When Cas looked up and saw Dean, his face fell, and that was when the eldest Winchester brother knew that something was happening. When Gabriel explained that Castiel should 'return to Heaven' to help them locating all the vessels, Dean was the first (and only) to loudly protest, telling Cas that him going up there would be a 'huge risk'. The Seraphim nodded; he knew that. But he's one of only five angels who know the names on the list, and if the Rogues are running around down here on earth, he would be safer in Heaven, being that the fortified entrances means that if any Rogue is sensed trying to enter Heaven, they would be immediately vapourised. Dean was still protesting, but when he noticed that no one was backing him up, he flipped out. Cas stood up, taking his face in his hands, and pressing a kiss to his lips. Sam began explaining why it would be a 'good' idea for Cas to go upstairs, Dean was trying to fight the tears, but Cas caught them with his thumb as they fell. He just held Dean's face, their foreheads resting together, as The Hunter came to terms with the departure of the man that he loves. Gabriel explained the extent of the operation that they're running in Heaven, and how Castiel giving them the list of names would help them with locating all the vessels and putting them into protection. Something about what he was saying made sense to Dean. It made sense to everyone, and when Mary agreed that perhaps Castiel should 'go away for a while' she was not expecting the look on her oldest son's face, nor the look on the Angel's. Castiel kissed Dean… not in the 'goodbye' forever way, just in a 'I'll be back soon' way. Dean grabbed him, deepened the kiss, putting everything he has into the kiss. Everything he can to make himself be okay with this. He knows that Cas will always come when he calls.

'You better come back to me,' Dean whispered

'Always Dean. I love you,' Cas replied, also whispered

'I love you too. Gabriel, you better protect him, or I'll come after you first,' Dean said, reluctantly letting Cas go, it felt like a part of him was missing

'You have my word Dean-o. We'll be gone three days, a week at the most,' Gabriel replied, and then they were gone, Dean retreated to his bedroom.

The Bunker

Lebanon, Kansas

Evening

Sam, Dean, Mary, and Jack were playing Monopoly at one of the tables in the library when there was a thump from the hallway. Each of them raised their guns, as footsteps approached, then Castiel appeared in the doorway. He was bloodied, bruised, and the minute he reached Dean, he collapsed into the man's arms. Sobbing. Questions were flung at him, his entire body was covered in blood, he still had wounds that hadn't healed… obviously something had happened. Dean led Cas over to a chair, and when the Angel had finally composed himself, he took a deep breath and look up at Dean, whispering 'I love you' to him, before kissing him, apologising for taking so long to get back to him. Dean wasn't worried about that. He took the cloth from his brother, proceeding to clean Cas up, whilst Mary grabbed him some clean clothes. Cas was almost catatonic whilst Dean cleaned him up, just touching him lightly, to make sure that he was real. Mary tried to help, by changing Cas, but he screamed when she touched him, flinching into Dean, who held him, looking between Cas, his mother, and his brother. Finally, after a while, Cas had calmed down enough, and he apologised to Mary, who just hugged him, showing she forgave him, handing him the clothes. Dean helped him to change, then tucked him into their bed, kissing his forehead, before leaving the room. When he returned to the library, everyone was sitting around, wondering what had happened to Cas, whilst Dean just angrily shouted to Gabriel. That son of a bitch was supposed to protect Cas. Whatever this was, he clearly hadn't done his job and Dean wants answers. Everyone stopped talking when they heard Dean shouting for the Archangel. After a while, Sam joined in. Finally, Gabriel appeared, not looking at any of them, he looked downtrodden, small, and guilty. Before anyone said anything, he looked up at Dean and apologised. He begged the Hunter's to just 'hear him out' before they kill him. Reluctantly, Dean agreed, and Gabriel took a seat at the War Table, head in his hands, apologising to his brother before standing up to talk again.

Gabriel and Castiel had been investigating a Rogue sighting in Atlanta. He had turned his back, just for a moment, and suddenly they were surrounded by no less than eight Rogue's. Both Gabriel and Castiel drew their blades, but they were outnumbered and with Cas' powers still weak, they were definitely out powered. Before Gabriel could do anything, they had grabbed Cas, forcing him to stay back, whilst they hauled Cas away, but he refused. He had to fight with everything that he had to get Cas out of the torture chamber they had him locked in, and back to the Bunker. He had barely escaped himself. Dean wanted to punch something… or someone… they TORTURED him? He thought but realised that he'd said it out loud because Gabriel nodded, and he had the audacity to look guilty. Then the Archangel burst into tears, sobbing, and apologising through the sobs. Dean had to leave the room, or he was going to kill Gabriel. He went to check on Cas, who was just waking up. Sitting down beside him, he tells him that Gabriel is here, and told them what happened. Castiel burst into tears again, promising Dean that he 'didn't break', he 'didn't tell them anything', that is why they hurt him so badly. The Hunter kissed him, tenderly, giving Cas the opportunity to pull back, but he didn't. He pushed himself up, straddling Dean's waist, pressing himself against his boyfriend, as he deepened their kiss. Dean was afraid that Cas was doing this for the wrong reasons, but the Angel had unzipped his jeans and… oh fuck… his mouth was on his dick. His brain shut down, he was only thinking with his 'other' brain, the one currently being blown by his Angel. Dean tried to push Cas off. Really, he did, but every time he was thrown back by the amazing sensations… then Cas stopped, he sat back, apologising to Dean, who was disappointed, but immediately pulled Cas into him, hugging him, telling him it's 'okay'. If he's not ready yet, they can wait, but that it was 'nice'. Cas chuckled, and there was the beginning of that smile that Dean missed. They continued hugging, until Castiel reminded Dean of his throbbing dick, and the Hunter went to 'fix it'. Cas was curled up in their bed when he returned, having heard from Sam that 'Gabriel is a drunken mess'. Cas followed Dean out to the library, half hiding behind him, hand in a vice like grip.

'Gabe? What are you doing?' Cas asked, and the Archangel's head shot up, he stood and ran over to his brother hugging him

'Cassie… I'm so sorry. I should have… done something. But it all happened so fast and then I used what powers I could to get you out of there and…'

'You know, this makes you seem almost human Gabriel,' Cas said, a smirk on his face

'Well, call me a fucking human, because I'm never letting myself be that powerless again… and I'm not letting you be that powerless again. Let's talk bindings…' Gabriel said that stupid sass back in his persona.

December 12th, 2017

Lakeview Lodge

Rivkin, Missouri

Midday

The idea of a binding had kind of freaked Dean out a little, but he had listened to what Gabriel and Cas had said. Essentially, it would be like Cas would be upping the ante on their 'profound bond', but that it would essentially make them 'married together in the eyes of Heaven'. They've only been together for a month, and Dean knows that he loves Cas, and the thought of losing the Angel was terrifying. Cas had left him alone in his thoughts, explaining that it's really simple, and for Cas to fill the binding, they just have to have sex whenever it's low. Dean had smirked at that, but he was thankful that Cas had let him think about it, leaving him alone with a kiss, before going back to bed. Now they're in Missouri, and he hasn't stopped thinking about it for two days. Sam had just told him that he couldn't make the choice, it had to be Dean. Jack just gave him a thumbs up, and Gabriel had explained that it would just be an Enochian sigil on his left wrist, that would mean 'bound in love'. Inside that, there would be some of Cas' grace, but it would allow Castiel to become powerful again, for his wings to possibly heal, and for them to be unstoppable together. Dean liked the idea of always being bound to Cas and he wanted to have Cas with him always, even when they're not together. It was just after Midday, when Cas, Sam, Mary, and Jack returned to their motel room, where Gabriel was also waiting with Dean. Cas tilted his head, a weird look on his face, whilst Gabriel was just grinning like a stupid idiot. Dean took Cas' hand, and pulled him over to where they were standing, then he explained to Cas, and the rest of the family, that he was agreeing to getting the binding. Cas asked him to 'be sure' because it can't be 'undone', and Dean just kissed him. He's not ready to be 'married' on Earth, but if this binding means that Cas will never leave him, then one day, when Chuck is dead, and the Rogues are gone, he'll ask Castiel to marry him. Sam was grinning, as was Jack, but Mary was wary. She doesn't know if this is the right idea for Dean. Gabriel clapped his hands, clicking and they had all been changed into rather formal clothing, Cas was in a white shirt, unbuttoned at the top, and black pants. Dean was in a black button down with black suit pants, and the motel had been pseudo transformed into something slightly cheesy. But Dean didn't complain.

Gabriel told them to join hands, Cas' right in Dean's left, making sure their wrists were touching. Sam had tears in his eyes. He has never seen his brother this happy before, and he would be an idiot to try and get between this. Gabriel put a hand on their joined hands, and spoke some words in Enochian, whilst Cas translated for Dean, who just grinned. Dean felt something on his wrist burn slightly, but he didn't shy away from it. Cas' eyes glowed bright blue, it engulfed his entire being, and Dean could feel the power emanating from his boyfriend, as Gabriel spoke, the final strings of Enochian, and then a swirl of light wrapped around their wrists, essentially tying them together, before it died away. Gabriel clapped his hands and smiled. Cas let go of Dean, and The Hunter immediately turned his left wrist to see the Enochian engraved onto his wrist. He smiled, whilst Sam and the others just came over to congratulate them, then announced they would be 'leaving them alone to celebrate' because in order for it to be finalised, they both have to, in Gabriel's lovely words 'fuck and cum in each other'. Cas smirked, as did Dean, but as soon as the others were out the door, the clothes began coming off. After they had 'fucked and come in each other', Dean looked at his wrist again, and saw that it was now glowing, filled with some of Cas' grace. The Angel, who was lying curled up naked beside him, just explained that it will fill over time, the more Cas 'comes' in him, and when it's completely full, every time it's used a little bit will empty, but it will always be filled again. Dean just pulled Cas close and kissed him. He felt amazing. Better than he has in a very long time. He has Cas, and he has his family, and none of them are going anywhere, and they're going to kick the asses of these Rogues and send them back to Angel jail. Dean and Cas had just re-dressed when the others came back. Sam informed them that there have been more murders in Pantone, Ohio. Cas frowned. He asked Sam if there were any relations to the other murders, and he shook his head, but reeled off a list of names of the victims. Cas recognised that four of them were on the list, but the other seven were just random people, pulled off the street.

'So, they don't have the list?' Mary said, and Cas nodded

'Okay, what do we do? We don't have any way of tracking them, or anything to even start thinking about tracking them,' Sam said, throwing the file onto his bed, head in his hands

'Hey, this is Team Free Will 2.0. We will not sit here and let these dicks win. We will find a way. If we need to use the names on the list to plot a line, then we will do that. But we are not giving up. So, get up off your asses, and let's get to work,' Dean said, clapping his hands together, and heading towards the door, opening it and pointing towards the Impala

'Wow, what did you do to him Cas?' Sam asked, the Angel just smirked, winking at his Hunter.

The Bunker

Lebanon, Kansas

Afternoon/Early Evening

Jack had stumbled upon Christmas on the internet, and all the Winchesters decided to appease him, by decorating the Bunker for the holidays. Mary and Cas had been put in charge of the decorations, which looked amazing. This was noted by both Sam and Dean when they returned from a food run, coming down the stairs and noting the large tree on the War table, perfectly decorated. Jack was standing in the middle of the room, slowly turning around, taking it all in, grinning when he saw the boys, asking them what they thought. This will be the first Christmas where they've all been together. Including their mother. Dean felt all his blood rush down south when he saw Cas come into the library, wearing a linen shirt, and blue jeans. It looked like he'd just stepped out of a catalogue. Sam was the one who noticed the stupid look on his brother's face, and rolled his eyes, whispering for them to 'not have sex on the table in the library'. Dean just handed Jack the bags and told them to 'get lost'. Dean placed his hands on Cas' hips when he reached his Angel, pulling him close, and kissing him, running those hands up his chest, until he was cupping Cas' face. Their kissing heated up, Dean trapped Cas between himself and the table in the library, grinding their hips together. Cas threw his head back, moaning, which broke their kiss, and gave Dean the access he wanted to Cas' neck. He made sure to leave a hickey on his Angel's neck, as Cas ground himself against Dean's knee, which he had raised slightly to press against the hardon that he was now sporting. Cas had begun unbuttoning Dean's shirt, when Gabriel appeared, clearing his throat, causing the two to jump apart. The former Trickster asked them both to 'cool off', and then clicked his fingers, dumping a bucket of water over the two of them, before clicking again, making them dry. Since he had found out about Cas and Dean's relationship, he's been feeling like an older brother: protective of his little brother. He had wanted to have Cas return to Heaven, so they could hang out, but he supposes that they can still do that here on earth. Gabriel sees Dean wrap an arm around Cas' waist, pulling him into his side, and kissing him once, but the arm doesn't leave, and the hand is beginning to wander, caressing Cas' side, lifting the shirt slightly. He's about to throw Dean into an alternate dimension, when Sam, Rowena, Mary, Jack, and Charlie Bradbury (alternative) enter the room at his request.

Cas had written down all the names of the vessels on a list, and they had begun tracking them. It was slow going, but they were making progress, using the map in the War Room to help them out. The Rogues had struck Ohio, Missouri, and Montana so far. It didn't give them any idea where they could be operating from, but Gabriel told the others that he has contacted the other four Angels, and they have agreed to help. As much as the Winchesters didn't want that, they knew that they're going to need all the hands they can get… even if those hands belong to dick Angels. As Cas was slightly bending over the table, pointing something out to the group, Dean moved his hand to rub up and down the Angel's back, because Cas had been complaining about having some back pains, and Dean had taken to just lightly running his hands up and down or massaging. Cas felt himself get hard, and subtly moved his leg to adjust himself, pretending that Dean isn't trying to get him turned on right now. But Dean could tell that Cas was hard, and smirked, whispering in his ear, whilst continuing to rub his back slowly. Cas shivers slightly, stretching his shoulders by moving them back and around, until Dean hits a particularly sore area of his back, and he squeaks out a pained noise, causing Dean to stop rubbing, and ask him if he's okay. Cas nods, then keels over more in pain, holding onto the edge of the War Table. Gabriel came around to him, placed a hand on his back, and his eyes glowed before a light emanated through him into Cas. Dean was still holding his hand, but when Gabriel powered down and stepped back, Cas wasn't in pain anymore, and was able to stand up. Dean looked between the two Angels, who just muttered the word 'wings', and that was it. Dean knows how hard it is for Cas at the moment, trying to get his wings back, and they're healing, it's just slow, and painful. Now that Cas is feeling a bit better, Dean suggested a 'date night', wrapping his arms around his Angel's waist, kissing him once. Cas smiled and nodded, leaning into kiss Dean back, as they just made out for a while, until Gabriel cleared his throat, reminding the two of them that he's 'still here', and in the room. The others had moved into the library to try and find some information from the Men of Letters, but Sam had mentioned that this 'hasn't happened before' so it would be unlikely the ledgers would reveal anything. Dean broke the kiss, grabbing Cas' hand and leading him through the bunker, towards their room, distracting Gabriel long enough to close and lock the Archangel out.

'OKAY! I'll just… wait here. Outside the door. Don't do anything to my little brother Dean, or I will break this door down,' Gabriel shouted, smirking

'Gabe, go away,' Dean said, but he sounded breathless almost, so the Archangel was curious

'Or what?' he asked, pulling a face

'Or… I'll… ah… sh-sh-sh… FUCK… shoot you,' Dean finally managed to get out, as Cas pushed him down onto their bed, and started blowing him.

The Bunker

Evening

After working all day, and not getting very far, Mary Winchester called for a 'movie night', and Jack excitedly asked if they could have popcorn, which caused the others to chuckle. Castiel went to help the Nephilim make some snacks, when he was out of the room, he rolled his shoulders, hoping it would help the pain in his back. It did, a little, but whatever Gabriel had done to him earlier, had worn off. Whilst they prepared snacks, Jack and Castiel talked about Christmas, and how many gifts they should get for the others. Cas reminded the Nephilim that they're not 'rich', but that homemade gifts would probably mean more to the Winchesters, than something bought from a shop. Jack had a thoughtful look on his face, whilst he grabbed a tray out of the cupboard, and put an assortment of snacks onto it, grinning cheerfully at his work, whilst Cas just chuckled, placing the bowl of popcorn on to the tray, and nodding his head in the direction he wanted Jack to go, chuckling as the young man headed off towards the 'living area'. Cas grabbed some drinks, trying to ignore the pain in his wings, carrying the drinks and glasses in the same direction as Jack, depositing them onto the table, before he was pulled down onto the two-seater sofa by Dean. Cas smiled, snuggling up to his boyfriend, as his grace began to resonate, and he realised that Gabriel had made him, essentially 'rechargeable'. The movie that Mary had chosen was called 'Finding Nemo', which Sam admitted to 'never having seen', causing Dean to send his brother a look. Cas felt himself drifting off, his resonating grace powering down to be recharged. He rested his head in the crook of Dean's neck, feeling the warmth and comfort of being tucked against his big, strong, Hunter boyfriend. After Cas had fallen asleep, barely twenty minutes into the movie, Dean looked down at him, worried, but he didn't move, just running his fingers up and down Cas' arm, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead, noting that he felt 'warmer' than normal. Sam watched the tender moment between his brother and Castiel, slyly taking a picture, before turning back to the movie. Mary was entranced by the film, as was Jack, who basically had his eyes glued to the TV, mouth hanging open the whole time. Sam chuckled at the look on the Nephilim's face, as did Dean, who then shot the kid a fond smile, before turning to check on Cas, then back to the movie.

After the first movie had ended, Sam chose another film to put on, something that Dean hated, but he sat through it, because Cas was still asleep, and he didn't want to wake the Angel, and he knows that Cas will hate him, if he picks him up, and carries him to the bedroom. Mary looked over at her eldest son, and saw the worry on his face, wanting to say something, but unsure of what she could say that would make Dean feel better. She barely knows Cas, and she barely knows her son, and Dean has made it clear, on more than one occasion, that she needs to earn their trust. Which she can understand, she is a hunter as well. But seeing the love between her son and his Angel, she can't help feeling her motherly instincts kick in, with her need to protect Dean, and in part, also Castiel. Jack is excited that Sam chose a 'scary movie' bounding up and down where he's sitting, causing Dean to chuckle, and send Sam a look. The younger Winchester just grinned like an idiot when Scream began playing on the TV. They deal enough with monsters daily, so he doesn't need to watch them on TV. Sam seems to have some weird obsession with these stupid movies, and Dean can't begrudge him the chance to just do nothing, but still, some of the films… they get enough of that in their lives. When a jump scare comes on the movie, Jack screams slightly, causing Cas to bolt up in his seat, Angel blade in his hand, looking around. The Nephilim apologises, pointing to the TV. Cas rolls his eyes at Sam and informs the younger Winchester that he can 'deal with Jack's nightmares' if he has them, to which Sam sighed, and nodded. Jack confidently exclaimed that he 'won't get nightmares', ignoring the look that Castiel shot him, knowing what he's like with horror movies. After that, Cas declared that he's 'going to bed', and leaned down to kiss Dean, before bidding them all goodnight and leaving the living area. His wings are hurting, his back is hurting, his head in hurting, and Gabriel didn't help by trying to heal him again. Cas is almost asleep when he feels Dean join him in their bed. He tries to close his eyes, as he feels the Hunter throw an arm over him, pressing a kiss to the back of his neck. Just as Cas drifts off, there is a flash of light in his mind, and then people are talking. He sits up, clutching at his head, bending over, the pain almost too much to bear. Dean is sitting up with him, holding him, asking him what's going on. Cas cringes, but lets his head fall back onto Dean's shoulder as the pain and voices die down.

'Cas, what happened?'

'Voices! So many voices! They were all just… something has happened,' Cas said, rubbing his temple

'What? What has happened?' Dean asked, watching as Cas' eyes shot open and he gasped

'Lucifer is back,' Castiel replied, looking at Dean who shook his head in disbelief, but Cas just confirmed it…

December 23rd, 2017

The Bunker

Lebanon, Kansas

Midday

The news that Lucifer was back in their world didn't sit well with the others either, and when Gabriel showed up, he was unhappy that his brother was also back. But then he had an idea. Dean was firmly against letting Lucifer anywhere near Jack, and Cas had to agree with him, but Gabriel claimed that he 'knows his brother', and if he sees him, alive… things might be different. If they tell him about the Rogue's, he can help them. They need all the help they can get. It is Sam, that reminds them that Lucifer… is the devil… to which Gabriel shouts at Sam, stating that he 'knows that' but that he can get through to him. He can make him understand, and Jack is well versed enough to know not to trust Lucifer. The Nephilim nods, but the Winchester's and Castiel are still against it, especially letting Lucifer into the Bunker… into their home… tomorrow is Christmas Eve. Mary and Castiel have spent the day decorating the Bunker, and when Sam and Dean saw it, they both teared up a little at how magnificent the Bunker looked decorated for the holidays, and Dean promised that he would go and pick up the Christmas tree that Mary had ordered later today. With this 'Lucifer' news hanging over their heads, the plans for finding Rogues were falling by the wayside. It didn't help either, that they still have no leads. As they finished decorating, Cas was now just staring at the big board in front of them, trying to work out some leads. He has nothing, and he feels useless. Like he can't even help them out. Even when he was kidnapped, he couldn't help them out because he and Gabriel were surrounded, and he… Cas remembered something suddenly, moving towards the board, and putting a note under a red pin over the state of Massachusetts, and another over Connecticut and Rhode Island. Suddenly, the Angel was grabbing books, and note paper. Sam entered the War Room, holding another book, and watched as Cas frantically drew something, and noticed the notes over the three states on the East Coast of the country. He asked Cas if he'd found something, excitedly exiting the room to get the others when the Angel nodded. Dean, Mary, Jack, Gabriel, Sam, and Rowena all entered the room, just as Cas finished whatever he was drawing, then watched as the Angel closed his eyes, muttered something in Enochian, and powered up himself, closing his eyes. Cas went through his memories. He had seen something, on the table. It just… Dean could feel the grace in his wrist swirling around. He watched his boyfriend, who suddenly opened his eyes, they were glowing, and pressed a hand to the legal pad in front of him, before powering down.

Gabriel took one look at the yellow legal pad, and patted Cas on the back. There had been a folder, on a table that Castiel had seen when he and Gabriel had entered the compound he'd been taken too and held at. The Angel informed them that these files contained information about 'their plans'. Castiel was explaining that there were about five files, but he had only managed to look at three before they were surrounded, and each of the files had a name of a state on them. One, was Massachusetts, another was Rhode Island, and the final file he had managed to glimpse was Connecticut. He couldn't recall the other two, but he had a feeling they had something to do with the West Coast. Dean and Sam took a copy of the sheet that Cas had recreated and looked through it. Inside the files, there was information about their businesses within those three states. Finally having a lead felt good to Team Free Will 2.0, and Dean celebrated by exclaiming that he and Sam had 'gotten the tree' and now they can decorate it, before they put together Hunters to get into those states, and 'check them out'. Cas was grinning, he hugged Gabriel, who grabbed a box of decorations and listened to Jack as he explained why they 'decorate trees', whilst Sam hi-fived him, Mary smiled at him, also hi-fiving him. Dean just kissed him. Kissed him until he needed to take a breath, whispering that he 'loves Cas' before they were interrupted by Sam calling them 'love birds' and demanding that they 'come and help'. Reluctantly breaking apart, Cas and Dean went over to help out. It was a nice moment, everyone just helping to decorate the tree, Dean didn't even make smart ass statements about Rowena and Sam, but he would say later that that was because Mary was in the room, and he doesn't want her to know that Sam is banging the witch. Jack was excitedly talking about Human Christmas to the Archangel Gabriel, who was pretending to listen, but Castiel could tell that he was trying his best to find a way to escape. When it was done, everyone stood back and just looked at the tree. Being that it's their first Christmas, back together as a family, Dean was happy that everything was looking good and that they tree was pretty. They had just decided to go and start dinner when the Bunker began to shake, the lights flickered, and the warding lit up, fending off whatever it was. Castiel and Gabriel screamed, both falling to their knees.

'What is going on? Cas? Gabriel? Dean… what is happening?' Sam asked, whilst Dean just shrugged, looking around, standing close to Cas

'I think I know what is going on… I have to – 'Gabriel didn't finish his sentence as he flew away, leaving Cas to bear the brunt of the remaining pain, before he shot to his feet, Angel blade in his hand

'Cas? What is going on?' Dean asked, hand on his shoulder, they were all facing Cas, and so didn't see anything until they heard the voice

'Well, that's no way to treat a friend,' Lucifer said, smirking as the Winchesters, and Jack turned to face him.
