Panem Events

Nox was well received in the Capitol and District. He was a strong fighter and well-spoken. His record-breaking Games lasting twenty-six days made headlines for weeks in the Capitol. This was mostly due to the growing civil unrest in the Capitol. His victory tour was overshadowed by President Marcellus stepping down from office. His political Alpha Aurea was tired of his complacent policies. A new leader of the party, Leonidas Pennilo, confronted President Marcellus and convinced him that stepping down was the best option. Leonidas Pennilo was the son of previous President Claudius Pennilo. Leonidas was much more aggressive and proactive in his actions than his father. He never thought his father was a strong president and ended up becoming the leader of the political party that ousted him. President Leonidas Pennilo was sworn into office and immediately increased quotas and Peacekeeper presence in the Districts. He also had elite members of the oppositional party, Augmenta Pax, to be arrested and some were even executed for treason.

President Pennilo would have Julius Falco return as Gamemaker, stating that Julius had an aptitude for his position. President Pennilo worked closely with Julius to create an arena focused on the tributes having a quick and bloody fight. The Career tributes for this year's Games were average, with none scoring a ten. The focus was on the District Four pair, Saylor and Alesta, who were both beautiful and muscular. They both scored nines in training with Alesta being trained with the bow and Saylor trained with the trident. After a back-to-back victory of Careers with Two and One, the Capitol was hoping for a Four victory this year. This would complete a Career Trifecta. As for the outliers, a strong alliance formed. It consisted of Jorie of Six, Josie of Ten, along with Flume and Fiera of Twelve. Flume is a Silent-Baby and if he survives until the fourth day in the Games then he will turn nineteen years old. There have only ever been eight other times a nineteen-year-old has been in the arena. The Capitol seemed split between rooting for District Four and this outlier alliance. The only other interesting tributes were Jeb and Sarah of Nine, both twelve-year-olds who were classmates and best friends. Even though both appeared weak their emotional story pulled at the heartstrings of many in the Capitol. Many in the Capitol saw Everyone else as weak or boring.

Day One

The tributes rise into the arena wearing jeans, long-sleeved black cotton shirts, a lightweight grey jacket with their District number patched onto the right sleeve and black sneakers. The Cornucopia sits on an open field of scrub terrain with rocks jutting out of the ground. Loose gravel surrounds the Cornucopia. This year's arena is rocky and barren with few spots of vegetation. Rolling hills in the distance offer some small caves for shelter, and a small stream flows through a valley in the southern portion. An overcast sky and light mist give a gloomy opening scene. Because of the low chance of survival without supplies, most tributes aim their focus on the Cornucopia. The gong rings and the tributes take off in different directions. The only tribute to run away from the Bloodbath is Everett from Ten.

Maddox is the first to reach the Cornucopia. He grabs a spear from off the wall and runs to the mouth of the Cornucopia. He scans the field for a tribute, and his eyes land on Joah from Eleven. Joah stops to open a crate and this gives Maddox an open window. Maddox throws his spear and it hits its mark. Joah falls backward as the spear pierces his chest.

24. Joah Arez, D11- spear thrown into the chest by Maddox Chissum, D2

Alpha finds an axe near the front of the Cornucopia. He sprints to a nearby tribute digging through a crate. He hacks his axe into the back of the frail girl from Eight, Moira.

23. Moira Bavion, D8- axed in the back by Alpha Tollett, D1

Alesta scans the field and spots Mason sprinting towards Queen with a sword in his hand. Queen is focused on another tribute and does not see Mason. Alesta notches an arrow, takes aim, and releases it. The arrow hits Mason in the chest and he tumbles forward on the ground. Queen does not even notice that Alesta saved her life.

22. Mason Hindle, D7- arrow shot into the chest by Alesta Paramon, D4

Georgia runs to the backside of the Cornucopia and spots Petir running around sporadically as he tries to avoid the tributes around him. Georgia charges at him and shoves him to the ground. Petir screams as Georgia repeatedly stabs her sword into his chest until his cries for help stop.

21. Petir Hanson, D5- stabbed in the chest by Georgia Leona, D2

Thora runs away from the bloodbath with her arms full of bread, jerky, and a canteen of water. Queen looks around the Bloodbath field as the tributes blur around her. Her eyes focus on Thora as she tries to escape. Queen orients herself, takes a few steps in Thora's direction, and throws a knife. The knife hits Thora's back and she falls to the ground.

20. Thora Manwell, D5- knife thrown into the back by Queen Gosser, D1

Alesta sees the small girl from Seven, Mimi, running across the Bloodbath field. Mimi has a pack on her back and a dagger in her hand. Alesta shoots an arrow and it hits Mimi in the neck.

19. Mimi Okana, D7- arrow shot in the neck by Alesta Paramon, D4

Sarah sprints across the field in search of her ally, Jeb. She gets shoved to the ground from the side. Sarah looks up to see Saylor standing over her. She screams for help and is met with Saylor stabbing his trident into her chest. Sarah gasps for air as her lungs fill with blood. Saylor rips the trident from Sarah's chest and sprints away in search of another target.

18. Sarah Gardner, D9- stabbed in the chest by Saylor Costa, D4

Bessie from Eleven and Lionel from Six wrestle on the ground over a large backpack. Lionel pins Bessie to the ground and elbows her in the jaw causing blood to fill her mouth. She hollers in pain but then spits a sputter of blood into Lionel's face. Lionel wipes at his face and moans in disgust. This gives Bessie the opening to shove Lionel to the side and she rolls over on top of him. She wraps her hands around his throat and starts choking him. A piercing pain shoots from her back to the rest of her body. Lionel pushes her to the side and she falls to the ground. Bessie looks up to see Maddox standing over her holding a bloody spear.

17. Bessie Young, D11- stabbed in the back by Maddox Chissum, D2

Lionel staggers to his feet and sprints away leaving the backpack behind. He is now focused on escaping the Bloodbath alive. Maddox rips his spear out of Bessie's back. He aims at Lionel as he runs away. The spear sails through the air and pierces into Lionel's back.

16. Lionel Walthers, D6- spear thrown into the back by Maddox Chissum, D2

The District Twelve pair, Flume and Fiera, face off against the boy from Eight, Dobby. Dobby is partially blind in his left eye and at a disadvantage. He lunges with his spear at Fiera but she dodges it and hits it downward with her sword. Flume takes the opening and stabs Dobby in the chest from the left.

15. Dobby Cretin, D8- stabbed in the chest by Flume Blaske, D12

Nadia chases after Queen who is chasing after another tribute. Nadia has a dagger and she knows taking out a Career in the Bloodbath would garner her many sponsors. As Nadia draws near, Queen notices movement from the side and sees Nadia running towards her. Queen pivots quickly and her instincts kick in. She adjusts and throws a knife into Nadia's chest.

14. Nadia Saas, D3- knife thrown into chest by Queen Gosser, D1

Jorie searches the field for her allies; Josie, Fiera, and Flume. She finds them standing on the outer edge by the pedestals looking for her as well. Jorie catches her allies' eyes and they beckon her towards them. Jorie starts to run towards them when she notices Maddox to her right also noticing her allies grouped together. They do not seem to notice Maddox. Jorie stops and throws a knife at Maddox before he can throw his spear at one of her allies. The knife lands in Maddox's leg and he stumbles. He drops his spear in the process and turns towards Jorie. Jorie sprints towards Maddox and throws another knife. This one hits Maddox in the chest and he falls backward.

13. Maddox Chissum, D2- knife thrown into chest by Jorie Vie, D6

Jorie meets up with her allies by the pedestals and they congratulate her on her kill. Josie gives her a hug and a big smile. Flume states, "We have to get out of here now." The group heads away from the Bloodbath to the rolling hills about a quarter-mile away. As the alliance leaves the Bloodbath, Saylor notices and starts to run after them. Josie is the slowest and the only one without a pack. Saylor throws his trident and it knocks Josie to the ground. She cries out for her allies, and they only look back for half a second before continuing on their way.

12. Josie Wuellner, D10- trident thrown into the back by Saylor Costa, D4

The Bloodbath starts to come to a close. Georgia scans the area and finds Jeb sitting beside his ally and friend, Sarah's, corpse. He stares at her body and sobs. Georgia runs over and slashes her sword across his neck. Jeb falls on top of his friend's body and reaches for Sarah's hand as he bleeds out.

11. Jeb Kasey, D9- throat slashed by Georgia Leona, D2

Fourteen cannons boom as the Bloodbath comes to an end. The Careers regroup at the Cornucopia with their only death being Maddox. They spend the rest of the day organizing the supplies at the Cornucopia. Jorie, Fiera, and Flume run until they find a wide cave in the hillside. The cave is big enough to walk into and deep enough to hide in without being seen from the outside. They each got a weapon and an ample amount of supplies from the Cornucopia. The lone tributes that survived the Bloodbath include Web of Three and Everett of Ten. Web runs north from the Bloodbath with a pack filled with crackers, cheese, and jerky along with a canister of water. He sets up camp under an outcropping on a hillside. Everett ran away from the Bloodbath without getting any supplies. He runs until he finds the stream in the southern portion of the arena. He drinks greedily from the stream and sets up camp nearby in the open.

Day Two

The Careers make a plan to hunt together since there is a large outer alliance. Saylor volunteers to guard the Cornucopia. After a big breakfast, Queen, Alpha, Georgia, and Alesta head west to hunt for tributes. Alesta leads the group with her bow in hand. They search all day but have no luck in finding any other tributes. This is due to the fact that there aren't any tributes staying in the western portion of the arena.

The alliance of Jorie, Fiera, and Flume stays near their cave for most of the day. In the midafternoon Flume comes up with the idea of stacking some rocks to hide the entrance of the cave better. Fiera and Jorie collect the rocks and Flume stacks them in a way that naturally conceals their cave. By sunset, the group high-fives and celebrates their accomplishment of the day.

The lone tributes; Web and Everett both stay near their camps all day. Web remains under his outcropping on the hillside. Everett has no supplies and is the most vulnerable in the arena. He stays near the stream while using it as a water source and licking the lichen off the rocks for food.

Day Three

The Careers prepare to hunt for tributes early in the morning. They eat a quick breakfast before heading out. Georgia volunteers to stay back and guard the Cornucopia. Alpha, Queen, Alesta, and Saylor head north. They reach a hillside with a protruding rock formation at the top. "Maybe a tribute is camped near there," Alesta points out. The other three Careers nod their heads in agreement. "Not very smart of them to take shelter at such a prominent landmark," Saylor responds. The Career group makes their way up the steep hillside. The rocks are slick from the morning dew so they have to be cautious on their ascent. Saylor leads the group up a path that ends near the outcropping. Alpha notices a plastic wrapper and picks it up from the ground, "At least someone was here at one point."

At that moment a rock comes flying out of the dark corner and hits Queen just above her left eye. She collapses to the ground with a scream. The other three Careers hold their weapons up and leer into the darkness. Web runs out of the darkness holding another rock in his right hand and three others cradled to his chest using his other arm. Web throws a rock towards Saylor but he easily dodges the attack. Alesta prepares to fire an arrow but before she can release it, Alpha runs past with his axe held high. Alpha gives a warcry as he sprints towards Web. Web throws another rock and this one hits Alpha in the shoulder but it does not slow him down. Alpha swings his axe out and it clashes into Web's chest. The force of the hit causes Web to fall backward and he lands with a thud against the hard ground. Alpha pulls the axe from Web's chest with a sickening sound. Web gasps for air but it is not long before the cannon booms.

10. Web Mikel, D3- axed in the chest by Alpha Tollett, D1

Saylor immediately runs over to Queen who still lays on the ground. She curses in pain and holds a hand against the bleeding gash on her forehead. The laceration is deep and almost four inches long just a few centimeters above her left eyebrow.

"Where is the medical kit?" Saylor asks.

Alesta digs through her bag and pulls out a small container with a red plus sign on it. Saylor whips it open and digs through the contents. Saylor has seen many cuts and lacerations be treated while either on a ship out on the ocean or in the clinic.

"Saylor has trained some with a doctor back in Four," Alesta mentions to Alpha.

"Is she going to be okay?" Alpha asks. Saylor pours antiseptic and a saline solution to clean the wound. He adds a pain relieving salve around the area but Queen still grimaces at the pain. "She will be okay. I just wished there were some sutures in here," Saylor says as he wipes the blood away. In almost an instant a sponsor's gift floats down from the sky, containing a suture kit. Saylor quickly goes to work as his hands work efficiently to stitch the laceration close.

"All done. You will have a gnarly scar but you shouldn't bleed out at least," Saylor says with a soft chuckle. Queen nods her head in approval. A thought hits Saylor as he wonders if Queen will die before she even ever gets a scar. He unfortunately does hope she won't survive that long. Saylor does a neurologic exam and deems Queen safe from any bleeding around the brain. Alpha and Alesta bombard Queen with questions asking if she is okay. Queen gives them affirmation that she feels fine, but has a headache. Alpha drags Web's corpse far enough away for the hovercraft to take it away. The four Careers stay at the outcropping for most of the afternoon to give Queen plenty of rest before returning to the Cornucopia.

The alliance of Jorie, Flume, and Fiera remained within their cave for most of the day. Flume confessed to the two girls that his goal was to survive until the fourth day which is tomorrow so that he may be remembered as one of the few tributes to turn nineteen within the Games. Fiera and Jorie were both excited to achieve that goal for Flume. The only lone tribute, Everett, remained near the stream and did not have the energy to travel too far away due to a lack of eating.

Day Four

Queen wakes up with a pounding headache and a large bruise covering most of her forehead. Saylor inspects the injury and states that this is normal. Queen volunteers to stay at the Cornucopia and Alpha offers to stay as well in case Queen needs help with anything. Neither Saylor, Alesta, nor Georgia are against the idea. Saylor shows Alpha the different medications that Queen may take and how often. They leave the District One pair behind and head south to search for tributes.

Georgia, Alesta, and Saylor find the stream and travel along it for most of the morning. The stream is located in a long valley between two steep hillsides. The Careers are shocked by the lack of vegetation even near the water. At one point, Georgia slips and falls into the chilly water. Alesta and Saylor laugh at her. "It isn't funny! Don't laugh at me!" Georgia shouts back in a harsh tone. The District Four pair solemnly apologize and Saylor helps her up. The group eats a quick lunch before continuing on their way.

Not long later the group spots Everett lying on the rocky ground near the stream about a hundred yards away. He lazily looks over and notices the three Careers. He jumps to his feet and immediately starts running. The Careers take chase. Everett races up the mountainside as the Careers close the gap. Everett slips on loose gravel and a jagged rock cuts his leg but he continues. He tries to hobble up the mountain, but Alesta gets in range to fire an arrow. The arrow hits its mark in the center of Everett's back. He stumbles to the ground and before the Careers reach his body his cannon booms.

9. Everett West, D10- arrow shot in the back by Alesta Paramon, D4

This leaves the Final Eight; Queen Gosser and Alpha Tollett of One, Georgia Leona of Two, Alesta Paramon and Saylor Costa of Four, Jorie Vie of Six, and Fiera Thind and River Blaske of Twelve.

The alliance of Jorie, Fiera, and Flume celebrate Flume's nineteenth birthday for most of the day. Fiera and Flume celebrate by singing a traditional birthday song from District Twelve. Jorie shares some stories of birthday traditions from District Six as well including having homemade cardboard box car races. Flume receives a sponsor gift of a small piece of sweet bread from District Twelve. Flume throws a few crumbs over his shoulder to symbolize the feeding of his memories to motivate him into the future which is another tradition from District Twelve. The trio spends the day celebrating and sharing stories of their childhoods. That evening, Everett's face illuminates the sky and Flume thanks the audience for making his birthday such a success.

Day Five

After eating breakfast the Careers discuss if they should split up or stick together since it is the final eight. Georgia states that it would be best to break up to find the remaining tributes. The District One pair seems to be neutral on the idea. Saylor convinces Georgia that everyone should stick together because the outer tributes all scored well in training. He also emphasizes that the Career alliance breaking up too early has caused its downfall before. Georgia is reluctant to agree but she decides to stick around for a few more days.

Queen volunteers to stay back at the Cornucopia once again. The swelling above her eye has gone down and it isn't too painful. However, she still has been having headaches. She emphasizes that she only needs one more day of rest and that tomorrow she will be back in the action. Queen also states that she can take care of herself so no one else needs to stay back with her. The rest of the Careers agree and spend the day hunting for the remaining alliance of Jorie, Fiera, and Flume.

Jorie, Fiera, and Flume decide they need to be more active today after spending the past few days hiding in their cave. The group heads north in search of other tributes. They know that only the Careers remain, but they don't know if they have split up or still sticking together. They spend the whole day walking up and down the hillsides of the northern part of the arena before returning to their cave.

Day Six

The Careers wake up early and eat a large breakfast. They are committed to finding the outlier alliance today. Saylor volunteers to guard the Cornucopia while the others head off in search of Jorie, Fiera, and Flume. During their trek, Alesta receives a pair of binoculars as a sponsor's gift. She uses them to scan the hillsides as Alpha leads the pack. Around noon, the group stops on top of a ridge overlooking the stream below. The group stops here to have lunch. Alesta and Georgia start preparing sandwiches. Queen and Alpha go down to the stream to refill their canteens. "Take mine as well. Last time I went to the stream I fell in and had to walk around all day in wet clothes," Georgia states. Queen happily obliges. Alpha and Queen take their time heading down the steep hillside. They reach the stream and squat down to fill their canteens with the cold water.

Jorie, Fiera, and Flume watch from downstream as Queen and Alpha refill the canteens. The District One pair is deep in conversation and does not seem to have noticed the outlier tributes. Flume points up to where Georgia and Alesta are preparing lunch. They also seem not to be paying attention. "We can take them by surprise. It's our best chance," Jorie whispers. Flume and Fiera nod their heads in approval. The trio takes off in a charge towards the unsuspecting District One pair.

Alpha hears the sound of their footsteps and looks up. Before he can say anything, Jorie is already throwing her knives. The first one hits Queen in the leg and she yells in pain while rolling over on the ground. Jorie throws another knife but it misses a sails over Alpha's shoulder. Flume and Fiera attack Alpha with their swords. Jorie puts her attention back on Queen. Jorie throws another knife and this one lands in her back.

8. Queen Gosser, D1- knife thrown into the back by Jorie Vie, D6

Flume and Fiera both attack Alpha with their swords. Alpha is well-trained with his axe and easily deflects the aggressive and sloppy attack by the District Twelve tributes. Fiera lunges forward with her sword and Alpha evades it by spinning to the left. He swings his axe upward under Flume's attack. The axe slashes into Flume's leg and he stumbles back. Fiera attacks again, this time she slashes downward but Alpha parries the attack. He swings his axe around and it hits Fiera's shoulder near her collarbone. She screams in pain. Flume gets back on his feet but Alpha is fueled by rage and instinct. Alpha slashes his axe over and over until he overwhelms Flume's defenses. Alpha's axe connects and slashes into Flume's chest.

7. Flume Blaske, D12- axe slashed into the chest by Alpha Tollett, D1

Fiera screams for her District Partner. She advances on Alpha but he is prepared. He deflects her sword and swings his axe. It slashes across her abdomen. Bright red blood pours out onto the ground. Fiera crumbles to her knees as Alpha continues to hack his axe into her body.

6. Fiera Thind, D12- axe slashed into the abdomen by Alpha Tollett, D1

Alpha continues to hack into Fiera's corpse after her cannon booms. He does not notice that Jorie is still alive and nearby. Jorie comes up behind Alpha and stabs one of her throwing knives into his back. She does a few quick stabs before running away. Alpha spins around but Jorie is already wading across the stream to get away. He tries to chase after her

5. Alpha Tollett, D1- stabbed in the back by Jorie Vie, D6

The four cannons go off in quick succession. The whole fight lasted less than two minutes. Alesta and Georgia had not even noticed the fighting until they heard Queen's cannon. Alesta and Georgia watched anxiously knowing that the battle would be over by the time they reached the stream. After Alpha's cannon sounds, Alesta tries to shoot an arrow at Jorie as she crosses the stream. The distance is too far and the arrow falls almost ten yards too short. Alesta and Georgia watch as Jorie climbs over the opposite hill and disappears on the other side. Georgia and Alesta follow after Jorie. By the time they climb the hilltop on the opposite side of the stream, Jorie is nowhere to be seen.

Day Seven

A cold rain keeps the tributes in place for most of the day. Jorie stays within the cave where she, Fiera, and Flume had made camp. She still has plenty of food left to last her a few more days. She receives a sponsor's gift of pine needle tea which she assumes must be a common drink in District Twelve. She does not like the taste but it warms her stomach. Around midafternoon the rain finally stops, but the chilly air remains. Georgia and Alesta stay at the Cornucopia not wanting to venture out in the damp. Saylor decides to do some hunting but does not have any luck. He returns to the Cornucopia before sunset. Georgia asks about splitting up to hunt for Jorie, she is concerned that the District Four pair will be able to beat her in a showdown. She doesn't share this concern with them, but Saylor and Alesta are smart enough to know that she does not fully trust them. Saylor convinces Georgia that staying together is the best option for a Career victory.

Day Eight

In the early morning before sunrise, Georgia wakes up after having a restless night. She looks over to Alesta and Saylor who are both still sleeping. The thought of going to the end with two powerful tributes scares Georgia. She looks over to her sword lying on the ground a few feet away and then back over to Alesta and Saylor. Georgia knows that if she were to kill one of them she would only have a few seconds to escape. She debates in her head what the best option would be. Alesta has the longest-range weapon with her bow but Saylor is a stronger threat to beat later on. Georgia silently gets to her feet and grabs her sword. She won't take any supplies with her because she knows the Games will not last much longer. She creeps over to the sleeping Alesta, Georgia whispers "I'm sorry," before stabbing her sword into Alesta's chest. Alesta immediately wakes up and starts coughing up blood. Georgia pulls out her sword and blood starts to pool out of the wound. Saylor immediately wakes up to the sound as well. Georgia looks over at him as he gets to his feet with his trident in hand. Alesta's cannon booms and Georgia sprints away.

4. Alesta Paramon, D4- stabbed in the chest by Georgia Leona, D2

Saylor had a suspicion that Georgia may try something so he had slept with his trident close by. The sight of his district partner dying gave him so much pain and he wanted to avenge her. Georgia runs out of the mouth of the Cornucopia. "Coward!" Saylor yells. He takes off after her. Georgia sobs as Saylor chases after her. She knows she has made a mistake. Saylor gets close enough in range that he takes two strong steps before throwing his trident. Georgia feels the prongs impale her back and the force knocks her to the ground. He removes the trident from Georgia's back, "I told you not to turn on us," he says before walking away. Saylor leaves Georgia to bleed out and die.

3. Georgia Leona, D2- trident thrown into the back by Saylor Costa, D4

Saylor returns to the Cornucopia and drags Alesta's body out in the open. A few moments later a hovercraft arrives to take her and Georgia's corpses away. Saylor is unable to go back to sleep and he is restless so he decides to hunt for the only other tribute, Jorie. Jorie wakes up in her cave at the sound of the two cannons. She suspects that the Careers turned on one another. Jorie debates seeking out Saylor or trying to wait it out. She suspects some type of mutt will likely lead them together. She would want the mutts to weaken Saylor, however, she isn't very confident that she would survive a mutt attack unscathed either. She decides to seek out Saylor. Not long after leaving the cave, a thunderstorm covers the arena. Howling winds, booming thunder, and icy raindrops chill both Saylor and Jorie to the bone. They both decide that the Gamemakers must be wanting one more day. Saylor returns to the Cornucopia and Jorie goes back to her cave. The rain does not stop until late that evening.

Day Nine

Jorie was unable to get much rest due to the storm and anxiety. She gathers her three remaining throwing knives and starts the trek to the Cornucopia. The journey takes her almost two hours. Saylor is sitting on a crate at the mouth of the Cornucopia with his trident in hand. He has not seen her yet, so Jorie decides to head back downhill and try to circle to the backside of the Corncupia. This takes her almost another hour. She is afraid the Gamemakers are going to send mutts after her but they seem to approve her strategy because no mutts come. From this viewpoint, she is unable to see Saylor. Jorie slowly stalks towards the Cornucopia, her heart is racing and she can hear it pounding in her ears. She gets closer to the Cornucopia and starts to get confident in her plan. Her breath catches when Saylor walks around the corner. He stands only forty feet away. Jorie is so anxious and she wants to win so badly, but Saylor wants to win as well.

Jorie takes a knife and throws it but her hands are so shaky it goes far to the left of Saylor. He charges towards Jorie and she turns and runs. She goes around on the other side of the Cornucopia expecting Saylor to follow. However, Saylor turns and heads the other way. He meets her at the mouth of the Cornucopia. She screams at the sight of him and throws a knife. It lands in his left thigh. Saylor howls in pain. His training instincts kick in and he lunges forward with his trident and it stabs Jorie in the right chest. Jorie slashes out with her knife and it cuts Saylor's right forearm. Jorie's chest tightens as blood starts to fill her lungs. She staggers forward but Saylor attacks again. This time his trident pierces her heart. "You fought hard and well," he says as the life fades out of Jorie's eyes. Jorie crumbles to the ground and her cannon sounds.

2. Jorie Vie, D6- stabbed in the chest by Saylor Costa, D4

"Congratulations, Saylor Costa of District Four. You are the Victor of the 96th Hunger Games!" Saylor raises the trident over his head with a smile on his face. The hovercraft soon appears and it lifts him into it.
