Ch 3
The Guardians couldn't get past Rocket's killswitch so they had to override it and save Rocket by infiltrating OrgoCorp headquarters which was a space station made out of living matter.
They also got help from Gamora who was now working with the Ravagers. Meanwhile, Adam Warlock returned to the High Evolutionary and Ayesha but without Rocket.
And High Evolutionary was not happy.
"I tried to warn you," Ayesha said. "High Evolutionary. These Guardians are more powerful than you think."
"Or perhaps you simply overestimate your own value, High Priestess." the scientist retorted. "No doubt, a flaw of som type in my own design. I created you lot as merely an aesthetic experiment. Beautiful numbskulls. But your egos have run wild. And this one was meant to be the Warlock. The effigy of their people."
"You removed Adam from his cocoon early, my liege." Ayesha pointed out. "He is still a child."
"No, there's something wrong with him even outside all that." the scientist replied. Maybe it was because Warlock just didn't have the guts to kill his enemies. If he did, this search for Rocket wouldn't have been delayed as it was.
"Yes, there's something wrong with me!" Warlock shouted as he got up. "I was stabbed, you extraordinary phallus-"
With a flick of his wrist, the High Evolutionary telekinetically pushed the charging Warlock into a wall, denting it as purple telekinetic energy pinned him in place like someone had pinned him under a huge rock.
If they wouldn't do their jobs right, they would now.
"He doesn't know any better." Ayesha said desparetly. "We shall do whatever you require, my liege."
That didn't matter. Rocket was still out there and she didn't tell him after all these years. Well now he would show them just who was the boss.
"You knew of 89 P13 's existence for years without alerting me. That's not what I require!"
"I'm sorry, my liege."
"Find 89P13 and return it to me. Or, I will destroy your entire civilization as is my right as your maker! Do you understand? Do you understand?"
"Yes sire."
Now, that should get those golden idiots moving for once.
After that, he was walking alongside Theel.
"How did 89P13 survive after all these years, Theel?" the High Evolutionary asked.
"It was always clever, sire." Theel replied, stating the obvious.
"Yes, that's exactly why I want it now."
"Of course."
"Its brain."
If he could get Rocket's brain and find out just why Rocket was able to solve the problem when he couldn't, maybe then he could finally be one step closer to finishing his perfect society.
"That is the only reason, sire. But are you really trusting the Sovereign to retrieve it?"
Theel did have a point. But as unreliable as the Sovereign were, sometimes they were necessary and he already knew where the so-called Guardians would go. To his company's headquarters to turn off the killswitch. But that wouldn't matter. Once the Guardians slipped up and got spotted, they would be disposed of and he could finally finish his work with no more obstacles.
After all this time Rocket would finally know who his master was.
"They're merely a backup. I believe I know where they're going."
