Note: Welcome to season 6 of New Justice. Not unusually, there is a large time jump between the last season and this – actually season 5 was during summer 2021 and now we're in summer 2022. Just a little bit behind the real world. Haha.
The Wayne Manor Ball
-July 4th 2022-
It had already been a year since this world's Death Totem had sent the world flooding with ghosts, since this world's Barry Allen had made peace with his past and his death; the year since hadn't been as hectic, with only an encounter with the Imp named Music Meister keeping the League busy.
Not unusually, Rae was in the kitchen of the Kent Farm under the red dome of the Kryptonian Sanctuary. She had been making breakfast.
"Mama, mama, mama!" Leona called out, running at speed around Rae who was laughing as she ran to grab Leona.
"Enough play for today," Kara said, having followed her into the kitchen, smiling too. "You need to get that food to the Grants and then you have a busy day. It's Leona's day with me."
Rae gave her daughter over to her wife, giving her a kiss as Leona held out her hands for Rae. The girl was very attached to her Speedster mother, so it was important to the couple that she spend as much time with Kara as possible, to bond with her other mother.
"Are you heading to the floating island?" Courtney asked, coming down the stairs.
"Yes," Rae said with a nod. "This is a big step forward for human history." Rae gave her daughter a smile. "You know a lot of other Earths are heading out into space – Karry is basically terraforming everything in the solar system, and even Prime has their Martian colony for Earth and Ceres for Krypton; we're looking for ways to expand room here on this planet. The floating island cities are a step forward."
"As long as Atlantis doesn't attack…" Kara pointed out, and Rae gave a nod, thinking of Karry then too – it had only been six months since she had gone to Karry Universe to help end their war with Atlantis.
"At least Atlantis seems to want to leave the land alone here," Rae voiced, knowing their own Atlantis was still unstable and had sent people looking for Prince Arthur in the years since Laurel had taken him in, but there had been no direct attacks.
"Can I come with you?" Courtney asked. "Stargirl and the Flash."
"You're working today," Kara pointed out, and Courtney groaned but nodded. "You asked for the job."
"I know, and thank you. I know from school this is the summer job everyone wants," Courtney stated, knowing every teenager applied to the Sanctuary for summer. "And 4th of July is a big deal."
"Yeah, I need to get some more decorations up," Kara mused – the Sanctuary was doing a big 4th of July party this year, and Rae had even made a special dessert for it, using red, white, and blue Kryptonian fruits.
"I better run to the Grants," Rae spoke. "Hey Chris!" Rae shouted the last part and Chris, who was up the stairs, appeared. "Stargirl may not be able to, but if Superboy wants to make an appearance, I'd not say no."
"Maybe. I'm doing some summer classes online and writing an article for Lois about the food here at the Sanctuary for the 4th, but I can definitely see about appearing," Chris said with a smile as he went back to his room.
Rae chuckled as she packed the food containers for the Grants – an agreement she and Cat had reached, given Rae was busy most days and the Grants weren't yet ready to look for someone new.
Chris, meanwhile, had enjoyed his first year at collage and Lois had been more than happy to have Chris working at the paper part-time and having him around more.
"Is it me or have things been too quiet since last year?" Courtney asked. "I mean we had that Blue Moon thing and you went off to Karry, but besides normal crimes, superhero work has been minimal."
"Don't jinx us with that," Rae chuckled, knowing that quiet periods on this world were met with heavy League stuff after.
"And don't be sad about that," Kara added. "Since the old League died it's been one thing after another for us. First Barry again, then Savitar, Nazis, League of Assassins, the Injustice Alliance, Quex and Weg plus the Daxamites, Crisis, and then Thawne and the ghosts…"
"It's not going to last forever," Rae agreed, her mind going back to the warning the Sphere of the Gods had given her: a Darkness was coming at some point to this world. "So, enjoy the free time and get your skills ready." Kara cleared her throat. "…after work." Rae gave a wink and ran out. Clarky barked and ran after his mistress.
-New Justice-
In Gotham, in the Batcave, Tommy Queen his wife Sara, along with Selina Kyle were looking at the computers. Their children, Helen and Kathleen were in the cave playing with their toys. A portal opened, and the teenage hero Sideways came out.
"Got the mask," Sideways said, holding up a rabbit mask to Tommy. "Took me a while to find where it fell when you knocked it off that goon's head."
"Thanks Sideways, go home and get some sleep," Tommy said and Sideways gave a nod, opening a new portal and leaving the other heroes.
"What do you plan on doing with the mask?" Sara asked.
"Seeing if I can track where they are getting these," Tommy said.
"Or maybe they make them themselves," Sara remarked, and Tommy chose to ignore his wife, putting the mask on a scanner. "We've been tracking and trying to fight the Wonderland Gang for months and have gotten nowhere. Maybe it's time to bring the rest of the League in...?"
"Hold on a second," Selina said. "That event you found the goons in last night was the 4th of July Bash at the park, right?"
"Yeah," Tommy said.
"There's a pattern," Selina said and Sara came over. "Every event they have hit has hired the private security firm, The Crows." Selina said bringing up the company website. Sara frowned over it.
"You're right. Anyone know anything about this security company?" Sara asked.
"Made by Jacob Kane," Alfred spoke, coming into the Batcave and giving the kids a smile as he walked up. "Their owner and leader. He made the company when his wife and two daughters died in a car crash. Master Bruce's cousins actually. Jacob had visions of grandeur when he made the company – thought he would be an extra police force and outshine the heroes, but while the rich like to hire them and government sponsored events will sometimes use them, it never went beyond that. Is very successful in that respect, from what I know."
"What events are they guarding soon?" Tommy asked, turning from his analysis of the mask.
"Private, no information," Selina said, looking at the website.
"I think we can do something about that," Alfred said. "Wayne Industry is meant to be hosting a big 4th of July party tonight. I'll switch the event to here at the manor and see if the Crows might be able to provide last-minute protection for Wayne Manor's first ball since Bruce's death."
"A place we can control," Sara smirked. "A high-profile event which is what the gang likes to attack. I like."
"Good, because you and Tommy will have to be the main hosts," Alfred said.
"What?" Tommy and Sara said together. "Won't you be the host?"
"I might be running the company and will obviously be a host, but the rich don't see me as one of them. But the Queens, yes people will be cancelling their plans to come see this," Alfred said. "Sorry, Ms. Kyle, but you don't really have a name either."
"Not offended at all," Selina said with a smirk as Alfred moved off to make the arrangements.
"You're going to have to be Batwoman and we might need Batgirl as well," Sara said and Selina nodded.
"And we're going to need babysitters," Tommy pointed out.
"Think Rae and Kara might be able to take them?" Sara asked.
-New Justice-
Rae put the food she had made for the Grants into the refrigerator, considering she mostly now just made food for every day for the Grants and let them heat it up. It was an easy way to keep them in her life and for some reason Rae didn't want to just leave. It still allowed her to cook, so long as they let her know ahead of time if they were having a dinner party when they needed their cook in house.
"Hey Rae, you never went to college, right?" This was Carter who asked.
"Never," Rae confirmed. "Why?
"Well, I didn't get my applications in on time to get in next semester so I'm applying for the following. Going to take a bit of a gap and just work," Carter explained. The blind boy was moving his hand over the forms to read the brail. His seeing eye Kryptonian dog, Ember, was sitting near him. "Mom and dad want me to stay close to home, but I am thinking about leaving."
Rae saw from the corner of her eye Cat, who was writing on her computer, turn to look.
"You know, Metropolis University is a great school," Rae voiced. "And Chris goes there. He has his own apartment." It was actually the apartment Clark used to rent, even though he had really lived with Lois. Lois hadn't had the heart to get rid of it and was paying the rent all these years. She had given it to Chris now. "It has two bedrooms. I am sure he wouldn't mind having a roommate when he goes back."
"I'll consider it," Carter mused. "Thank you." Rae also saw Cat mouth 'thank you' as well. Rae understood that Carter wanted to be independent but also knew his parents worried – getting him with Superboy in the same apartment would calm the fears.
"Not a problem, now me and Clarky need to run to the Floating Island," Rae smirked, giving them a wink as she summoned her outfit. She then put her hand on Clarky and a Speed Force outfit appeared around the dog – she had started to find that easier than changing him into the outfit Frankie had made.
The two left the Grants without another word, running over the ocean and coming to the large floating island. This island was more like a floating platform with a city on top of it, while on dock of the island were a lot of people and several people standing in front of a red ribbon.
"We had sent out an invitation hoping the Flash…." the man who Rae knew was the new mayor of the city was saying as she stopped. Clarky not far behind her.
"Sorry, am I late?" Rae asked giving a wink and she could see the smile.
"And the Flash and Flash Dog are here," the man said and Clarky started to growl at him, clearly scaring the man.
"Correct yourself," Rae said, and he gave her a look. "Mayor, you said the wrong name. He is not Flash Dog. He's Flash Pup. He does not like the name Flash Dog."
"I am very sorry… urm, Flash Pup," the mayor said and Clarky stopped growling.
"He still doesn't like the name Flash Dog," someone spoke, and Rae smiled as she heard the voice. Chris had shown up in his Superboy outfit, floating above them and slowly coming down to stand besides Rae. There were cheers at the two superheroes together. "The city looks great from the air." Chris gave the mayor a smile at that.
"Flash, would you do the honors?" The mayor asked, giving Rae a large pair of scissors.
"Speech!" Several people yelled out.
"And a speech too, it seems," the mayor remarked. Rae chuckled at this.
"Well, all I will say it's not often the Justice League gets a brand-new city to protect, but if this works, well, maybe we will have a lot of these coming up," Rae said. "And Happy 4th of July!" With that, Rae cut the ribbon and then stepped back as the mayor led people into the city. Rae saw people with luggage and knew many people were people moving into the city today. She had heard several businesses had invested to the city – including the major's own companies that had helped make the floating city. Others were probably just here for the 4th of July celebrations taking place in the city.
"Want to run around the city?" Rae asked Chris.
"You know it," Chris said and Clarky gave a bark; the three moving off looking around the city as people started to fill in.
Soon, both were sitting at an edge on a building, overlooking the city from the air.
"You're right, it does look nice – especially surrounded by ocean," Rae remarked.
"And this is a nice landing place for us," Chris added; Rae was sitting on the ledge with her feet hanging off, Clarky next to her as Rae pet his head.
"I think they built special places for us to land on the tall building," Rae remarked, knowing this ledge they were on was useful for nothing else. "Nice city, right?"
"Very modern, although how is this working? What state – or even country – is this city part of?" Chris asked and Rae looked up at him. "Right, you don't know and don't really care."
"Bingo," Rae said just as her communicator binged. "What's going on?" She asked into it, knowing it was for her and not the League, given Chris's communicator had remained silent.
"Hey, Flash, can you come get Helen and Kathleen and take them with you for the day?" This was Sara's voice.
"White Canary, you didn't just use Justice League communicators to ask for a babysitter, did you?!" Rae asked, seeing Chris give a giggle out.
"Um… yeah, but you're not answering your cell," Sara reasoned. "We need the two out of Wayne Manor for the night."
Rae shook her head but sighed. "I'll be there soon," Rae said, putting her communicator away. "And have a discussion about proper use of Justice League equipment," she added.
"I'm going to hang out for a bit," Chris remarked, and Rae gave him a nod before running off with Clarky following.

In Gotham, a familiar man stood in the entrance hall of Wayne Manor as Alfred came to greet him.
"Jacob Kane," Alfred smiled, shaking the man's hand. "It's been a long time. I think the last time I saw you was the funeral."
"I think so too," Jacob said, now entering the place. Alfred had decorators getting the manor ready. "Bruce never thought to use us for when he had events," he referenced the Crows, of course.
"Well, Master Bruce was very particular," Alfred reasoned. "And I know this is last minute. We decided to change this event from a small thing at Wayne Industries to something bigger here. The first ball at Wayne Manor since Master Bruce's death."
"Lucky for you we had a cancellation," Jacob reasoned. "We should be able to have this party well protected. We'll need a list of all employees and guests."
"Guests keep on RSVPing. It seems this will be the biggest event in Gotham tonight," Alfred reasoned.
"Alfred," this was Sara coming into the room. "I got the dress and how did you know my size?"
"I am a good butler," Alfred smirked. "Mistress Sara this is Jacob Kane, head and owner of the Crows, who have agreed to be security for the ball tonight. Jacob, this is Sara Lance-Queen. Her and her husband reside here now and will be hosts tonight."
"I thought you owned Wayne Manor and Industries?" Jacob paused.
"I do, but the Queens are friends, and my love has always been serving," Alfred said. "This will be Thomas and Sara Queen first event in Gotham high society." Sara gave a smile and a nod at this.
"What is going on here?" A new voice spoke, and Sara paused to see Rae coming out of where the entrance to the Batcave was. She had Clarky with her and Sara realized it was probably lucky the two were not in their outfits, considering she called her on the communicator. She must have used a zap tunnel to get into the Batcave and come here after Sara called.
"Rae, hey, thanks for coming," Sara said as Alfred turned back to Jacob.
"Let me give you a quick tour of the house and where I will need security to guard," Alfred said quickly, taking Jacob away as Sara took Rae's hand, bringing her away from the group and to a separate room.
"I'm going to repeat, what is going on?" Rae asked.
"We're having a ball tonight. Reason I need you to take the kids," Sara said.
"Why?" Rae asked.
"Cause a ball is not really…" Sara began.
"I don't mean why you need me to take them. I mean why are you having a ball?" Rae asked.
"Oh, well it's mainly to get a new gang to attack the manor," Sara said, and Rae paused. "It's a long story. We got it handled. Just take the kids. Please."
"Well, I didn't come here for nothing. Although do not use Justice League communicators for babysitting in the future," Rae reasoned, and Sara smiled, taking Rae out to the guest house where both Helen and Kathleen were with Selina, watching them.
"Aunty Rae!" Helen called; the four-year-old running over to Rae and jumping up. Rae catching her, surprising the woman how high Helen could actually jump.
"Ant Rae," Kathleen said, the nearly three-year-old coming up as well.
"You two are coming with me," Rae said, picking Kathleen up as well. Clarky gave a bark as Rae summoned back their outfits and then put a Flash outfit on the two kids, much to their amusement. "They'll be fine," Rae winked at Sara and Helen as she ran off with the kids, Clarky following.
"Well, the children are taken care of," Sara said.
"They will definitely be safe with Rae," Selina agreed. "And Stephanie agreed to help me watch over from above, which is good because Sideways has an event with his family tonight."
"And I hate suits," this was Tommy's voice, coming out of the bedroom of the guest house. He was trying on the suit Alfred had sent him. "I forgot how much I hated these events – from the times I was young when I use to do this."
"I remember," Sara said.
"And somehow mom heard about this and is boarding a private jet right now to come here. I had to tell Alfred to put her name on the list," Tommy said.
"Why is she using a plane? She's in the know. She can use the zap tunnels," Sara said.
"Don't give her ideas," Tommy laughed causing the two women to laugh too. "And how did Alfred know my size…?" Sara giggled a little harder, having asked the same thing.
-New Justice-
Once they got to the Sanctuary, Rae had Helen and Kathleen hold her hands as they walked through, looking at the animals. Clarky had stayed back at the house.
"Hey Court!" Rae called out seeing Courtney at a snack stand. "Pass me one of those July 4th desserts for the kids."
Courtney handed Rae one of the packaged desserts. "Where did you get those two from?" Courtney asked as Rae sat on the bench near the stall and gave the kids the sweets.
"It's Helen and Kathleen," Rae said. "Selina and Sara's kids. You need to study up more on who is who. You've been with us for a year," Courtney gave a nod, knowing she still had problems recognizing everyone. In her subconscious she one day hoped to go back home, even though she knew that world was long dead now. "Now get back to work."
Courtney paused. As she was talking to Rae a line had formed and Courtney turned back to start selling again. Rae took a few moments feeding the two children before taking them towards the reptile house where, not only was the carousel, but she knew Kara was nearby from their bond. She heard Leona little voice screaming mama first, sensing Rae was near due to their Speed Force connection.
"There's my baby," Rae said, seeing Kara talking to an employee and taking Leona from her stroller as Helen and Kathleen hugged Aunt Kara. Leona happy to get out of the stroller. The little girl not really liking being in a stroller.
"How did we end up on babysitting duty?" Kara asked, greeting and hugging the two kids.
"Don't ask," Rae laughed. "I'll take Leona. Going to take these three on the carousel and then around the Sanctuary."
"It is my day with her," Kara reasoned, "but I got a couple more things to do. Once I'm done, I'll find you and help," Kara said, kissing Rae and then Leona before leaving her wife with all three kids.
With that, Rae moved off with the children, heading to carousel and, with the help of one of the staff members, managed to get them all on the ride, putting Helen on a Natu and Kathleen on a horse. She held Leona as she stood next to the two of them.
Afterward, she brought the three around to see the water animal show and then to see some of the non-dangerous animals. That was when Kara met up with them and with the extra adult, she brought them into the dangerous section to have a look at the animals secure in their habitats.
It was getting late when they decided to sit at the restaurant for dinner. Courtney met them at this point, since her shift was over – and Chris too. That was when her communicator sounded for the second time this day.
"Oh," Rae said as she looked at her communicator; they were sitting outside the restaurant and there were people around, so she had to whisper. "I knew it!"
"Knew what?" Kara asked.
"I stopped by Watchtower with these two before coming here and had our systems run a DNA analysis on Helen," Rae said.
"I thought Alfred had a DNA test done to prove she's Bruce's daughter?" Kara said.
"Yes, more for legal reasons than any doubt he had," Rae said. "But no, I was looking for something that does not show up on standard DNA tests. Metahuman mutations. Helen is a meta!"
"Any idea on powers?" Chris asked.
"Something physical. She jumps high. We're going to have to experiment," Rae said, looking at Helen who was sitting in the seat near them paying with a fork and spoon. Kathleen and Leona were both in highchairs. "Hey Helen, we're going to play some games later. Something me and your daddy use to do."
"Daddy?" Helen asked, as a response.
"Train someone to take over his legacy," Courtney said with a smile but they stopped talking as their food came.
Rae took one bite of the food served and then called over the waitress before she could move off. "Hey, why is the chef messing with my recipes?" Rae asked.
"Um…?" The waitress didn't know how to respond to that one.
"She is right. This is not good," Chris said shaking his head.
"I'll… I'll let him know," the waitress mumbled, running off now. Rae turned to Kara at this.
"Last time the chef got creative it caused a lot of food poisoning," Kara added, knowing there was an unusual balance between human and Kryptonian dishes that Rae had perfected and others did not. "In fact, we've been getting reports of food being off. I've been meaning to tell you that."
"Kara, do I have your permission to go fire this chef?" Rae asked.
"As long as you're taking over the kitchen for the night," Kara said.
"Deal," Rae said, getting up and kissing Leona and Kathleen before heading inside.
"We've got to watch this," Chris remarked, Courtney nodding as they quickly grabbed a child each, taking them inside the restaurant after Rae.
"Anyone who is eating anything with Kryptonian ingredients stop now and raise your hands." Rae called, now in the restaurant as hands went up. "Waitresses and waiters, please take the dishes and brings a complimentary drink to all the tables as a sorry. Someone, get the head chef out here now."
The head chef was already coming out at that point anyway, the waitress who had served Kara and Rae having called him already.
"How many times have I told you not to deviate from my recipes?" Rae asked.
"Several," the chef said, frowning at Rae now.
"And how many times have you and it ended badly?" Rae asked.
"Several," the chef said again.
"Well, you're out of chances. You're fired – get out," Rae said, shocking the room and the chef, who looked like he wanted to say something but Kara now behind Rae, showed the chef that the boss sided with her. The chef gave a nod and left the restaurant. "I'm going to go get this kitchen into shape. I should be able to be out before the show." Rae went back into the kitchen.
"She does realize she just went all Gordon Ramsey, right?" Chris asked.
"And that people were videotaping the minute she yelled for people to stop eating?" Courtney added, eating a chicken finger she had taken from Helen's plate in the rush to get inside – the restaurant had a kid's menu with no Kryptonian ingredients added for picky eaters.
"Yeah, I think this is going to be added to the pie thrower slash lemonade pouring as a viral video," Kara said, deciding to grab a table inside now, rocking Leona to stop her from crying at sensing her other mother's anger. A waitress came out with a plate at this point, and Kara knew Rae had sent it fast to them and so gave Leona some of the appetizer.
-New Justice-
In Gotham, Alfred, Sara, and Tommy were up the stairs of Wayne Manor, ready to make a grand entrance.
"Well, the Manor is packed," Alfred said. "And we're going to be announced."
"I remember this from when I was a kid too," Tommy remarked as they heard the introduction start.
"And your hosts for the night," a man Alfred had hired to coordinate the employees for the night called out. "Alfred Pennyworth." Alfred exited the room next to the grand staircase and went to make his appearance, coming down the stairs. "And Thomas and Sara Queen." Tommy and Sara exited together and walked down the stairs together, at this.
They smiled as music played, nodding at the people gathered before socializing could restart. They automatically ended up in conversation with others, of course.
"Tommy!" Moira Queen ran up and hugging her adopted son and then Sara. "Oh, this is so fun. I am glad you did this."
"Hi, mom," Tommy said with a smile, glad to be taken out of the conversation he was having with one of Gotham's rich and famous. "I can't believe you made it on such short notice – with the company to run and everything."
"Ah, yes, that's another reason I wanted to come," Moira said. "I've been meaning to tell you. I did tell Thea. I'm retiring and officially giving the company completely to Laurel."
"What?!" Tommy asked.
"When I thought you were all dead and Laurel was the only Queen left, I started training her and she is doing well. She's been running the company for the last few years anyway, and doing well," Moira said. "And you haven't shown any interest."
"No, the company should go to Laurel, I just never thought you would retire," Tommy said honestly.
"Oh Tommy, I am getting up there in years and I am very rich. I want to enjoy my life – spend time with my kids and grandkids," Moira said. "All three – and maybe more?" Moira gave Sara a look, who responded by taking champagne off a nearby waiter's tray. "I also want to travel, see the world, and date. Speaking of dating, I see a man giving me eyes."
"Go get him," Sara said with a laugh as her mother-in-law walked off and saw the look. "Oh Tommy, your mom deserves some fun."
"Selina, Stephanie, see anything," Tommy mumbled into communicators as he brought Sara out onto the dance floor to dance, not wanting to think of his mom dating around.
….
Outside the manor, Selina was in her Batwoman outfit with Stephanie nearby as Batgirl. The two were hiding out on the roof of Wayne Manor, looking down at the security guards in the front and backyards. "We're good up here," Selina said into coms.
"Are there crab cakes down there?" Stephanie asked, getting a look through one of the windows where the partiers were.
"Um… yeah," Sara voice said over the coms.
"You know I did give up a 4th of July BBQ for this," Stephanie remarked.
"We'll put some food aside for both of you," Sara replied, and Stephanie responded with a thank you.
The two moved around as much as they could without being seen so they could keep their eyes everywhere. "Are we sure they will attack here?" Stephanie asked.
"The Crows, a major event… even Jacob Kane is here," Selina said. "This should be…" Selina stopped as there was a loud noise and then they saw the thugs in the rabbit masks attacking the Crows security. "See!"
"Yeah," Stephanie said, tossing out a flashing device down as she and Selina made an entrance – both of them going to attack the two thugs right away, knocking them down. Jacob Kane was there now and calling to his employees to guard the guests. Several of the Crows were shooting at them, but a rabbit-masked baddie was taking all the bullets without getting a scratch. Only one crow – a black woman – went to fight hand to hand and doing pretty well.
"Well, hello Bats," a new voice spoke, and a woman in a white-and-red suit appeared with a top hat on her head, and wearing a white mask that had a deck of cards painted on it. "I'm going to need you to let my little rabbits go. See, it's getting very late, and we have a very important date…"
"And who are you?" Selina asked, holding out one of her bat weapons.
"Well, my dear, I'm the Mad Hatter," the woman said taking off her hat and giving a bow. "And I really must insist. I have no reason to fight you, Batsy."
"You're attacking Wayne Manor, that's reason enough," Selina said, and Stephanie came over to stand next to her.
"Very well," Mad Hatter said, and with that, the two attacked the Mad Hatter as the Rabbit thugs were dealing with the Crows. Some of the Rabbit thugs backed away, though, and ran – as an arrow past by them, the three barely dodging it and Selina and Stephanie knew Tommy and Sara must have excused themselves and changed to be Black Arrow and White Canary, respectively.
Sara jumped in with her bo staff. "Need a hand Batgirl and Batwoman?" Sara said as she joined the fight.
"I think we could have handled it but always nice for you to join in White Canary," Stephanie said.
"Oh, three against one, I think it's time for me to go. My Mouse is calling," Mad Hatter said and took a real deck of cards out of her pocket and tossed it at them. Sara was quick in running back and Selina and Stephanie used their capes as explosions happened, the card literally exploding on them.
"Black Arrow, do you have eyes on them?" Sara asked.
"No, a guy in a mouse mask sent something at me. He came from nowhere," Tommy said as the three females started to run to follow but Mad Hatter, this Mouse guy, and all the Rabbit thugs were gone.
"How did they get off this property so fast?" Sara asked. Wayne Manor wasn't easy to get in and out of if you didn't know it well – an advantage they thought they had.
"We'll figure that out later, you two should go," Selina said, and Sara nodded. She and Tommy needed to get back into their real identities and pretend they hadn't left their guests.
"We should too," Stephanie added after Sara and Tommy had ducked out fast. Selina gave a nod, and both took out a device to use to leap out of the way and out of sight.

It was late when Rae finally joined the other by at the farmhouse.
"The kids are asleep," Kara said, kissing her cheek as Rae collapsed on the outdoor sofa. Kara had set up some chair outside the house and Courtney and Chris were both laying on them chatting. Rae sat on the outdoor sofa with Kara, Kara putting an arm around her. "Heard after you took over the dishes were amazing."
"And we ate them. They were good," Chris added.
"Any chance you would…?" Kara began.
"You know I can't take over, what with being Flash – and it would cut into my time with Leona," Rae said, and Kara nodded, knowing Rae becoming head chef of the restaurant would cut into the time with their daughter – something Rae would not do given their unique Speed Force connection. "But the sous-chef is pretty good and seems to get follow my recipes well. I am going to train him."
"Good," Kara remarked. "I can't be having bad dishes after all – it gives Krypton a bad name." Rae chuckled at this.
"So, what are you doing for 4th of July?" Courtney spoke up now. "You can't set up fireworks."
"The show starts in…." Kara stopped as there was a loud noise all around the dome. Then, the holographic stars disappeared above them and holographic fireworks took their place – complete with booms and whizzes on the audio speakers all around the dome, to give the correct effect.
'Truth, Justice, and the American Way,' was written on the dome than in red, white, and blue. Rae had to smile at the quote that had been published in an article about Clark as Superman in the early days – different versions of it had appeared as well.
Then videos of Clark as Superman appeared among the fireworks, moving on quickly to Supergirl and Superboy with patriotic music playing in the background.
"That's perfect," Rae said kissing Kara.

After the attack on Wayne Manor, the ball had died down fast and Alfred, Tommy, and Sara wished everyone a goodbye; Alfred offering Moira a room in the Manor for the night, which she accepted.
"Well, security is done," Jacob Kane announced. "I'm glad the attack of the Wonderland Gang wasn't worst we've had."
"Well it was lucky Batwoman, Batgirl, White Canary, and Black Arrow showed up," Alfred spoke up, and Jacob mumbled some type of agreement. "I'll show you out."
When the Crows left, their vans being the last to leave, Selina and Stephanie appeared. Stephanie instantly went for the crab cakes they had saved.
"Well, I think we discovered the leader of the Wonderland Gang," Selina said.
"Mad Hatter," Sara said.
"And let's not forget that Mouse," Tommy added. "Rabbit thugs, Mouse, Mad Hatter. What's with them and Alice and Wonderland?"
"And who do you think is Alice?" Stephanie added, making everyone wonder if there was one more in the gang.

In a secret headquarters somewhere in Gotham, Mad Hatter took off her mask and hat, revealing a pale face with angular features, deep blue eyes and short dyed-red hair.
"Oh, Alice, we're back," Mad Hatter called and a woman of similar appearance, albeit with long blonde hair came forward.
"Didn't go well?" this Alice asked.
"Bats showed up," Mouse spoke up taking off his mask to reveal he was more baby-faced, but badly scarred under the mask. He also had longer, wiry hair which looked like it hadn't been washed or combed in year. "But Mad Hatter's knowledge of Wayne Manor from her former life helped us."
"So, what do we do now, oh sister of mine?" Alice asked.
"I think it's time for Kate and Beth Kane to come back to life," Mad Hatter said with a smirk. "I think we would look good in our dear cousin's manor. Don't you, Alice?" Alice gave a smile.
"I think we would," Alice said.
