Okay, so here's the deal. I re-read Untamed: Unleashed, and I forgot how much I love it. I write Fanfiction because I love it so much, I write it for me. Over the years, you, the readers have encouraged me and kept me going when I doubted my story or ability.

I've always wanted to continue writing Fenris and Makatza, I love them too much to leave them alone. So, I've had this storyline in my head for a while and I've decided to finally write it. It's going to delve into the story of inquisition and will be running through to hopefully explore Dragon Age 4, when that comes out.

I have a story line, no idea how many chapters it will take. A few I think, at least ten. After that arc, I will be totally open to write any prompts/situations/scenes that you want to have brought to life. The latter half of this fanfiction will be a love letter to you, my readers. Email, message, review your idea and I'll put it in, unless it's totally out of character sort of thing.

So here it is, Untamed: Uncovered.

(Also, I know I totally switch tenses in this, I apologise, it's a habit I am desperately am trying to break but it's sooo hard. Please be patient.)

Chapter 1: The calm before the storm.

'Ma vehnan, it hasnae been long enough ta call for an arlathvhen,' Silvanus said softly as he walked over to where Makatza was writing letters. She had Ciere lying next to her quite happily and she was working at speed. 'I understand yer haste but most of them willnae come until it's time.'

Makatza paused while he was talking and sighed heavily, 'it's different now, papa, I know some clans have lost their Keepers, their hunters. They're struggling out there and they need our help. I know it wouldn't be for another few years but…' she ends her sentence short as she bit her lip.

'But what, vehnan?' Silvanus prompted as he crouched next to her and placed a hand on her knee.

She looked torn and rubbed her eyes, 'papa, we don't have the time to dawdle. The world is changing and… we have to be prepared,' she said quietly, aware of those that might hear her. She didn't want to cause worry in the camp or have her words misinterpreted. 'I'm just letting the other clans know that this is a sanctuary for the time being. That for as long as I can, I'll protect them. I can't stand idle and just protect our own clan when there are others I could save.'

He chuckled lightly and stood up before he pressed a kiss against her temple, 'ya may have left the city, but yer still a viscountess through an' through,' he teased lightly making her smile for the first time that morning. He glanced at her back to where Leto was swaddled and happily sleeping. 'Has he given ya any trouble?'

She shook her head, 'no, he's a good boy and going through a growth spurt so he's sleeping a lot. Are Mari and Fenris okay?' She asked as she folded up a letter and slid it into an envelope. Silvanus assured her that they were fine and doing other tasks in the camp before leaving her alone to finish her work. He was so proud of his daughter, the Keeper of his original clan. She worked so hard and fought to keep them all safe, he only wished there was more that he could do.

In order to keep busy he wandered the camp until he found Fenris working on one of the kills that the hunters had brought back to camp. 'Lethallin,' he said in greeting as he came close.

Fenris looked up and paused, knife in hand before allowing a small smile to reply, 'Hahren,' he replied before he continued to focus on the deer. When Silvanus didn't leave, he stopped and picked up a rag to wipe his bloody hands. 'Something is bothering you, Hahren,' he said simply and to the point.

Silvanus sighed and nodded as he took a seat near the table where Fenris stood. His chest still caused him issues and he had learned to rest even when he didn't want to. 'Ya know that Makatza is callin' fer a arlathvhen?' He asked and then watched Fenris nod. 'I feel that she be workin' too hard, an'…some of the clans are nay as nice as others. I cannae see this goin' well. Tales of the Bellanaris Elgar 'ave travelled an' many dinnae believe them to be true.'

'You are thinking that the fact that she's half human and that they won't believe in her power,' Fenris clarified. Silvanus' sigh said it all and Fenris picked at a stubborn bit of blood on his fingers as he looked at his father-in-law. 'Makatza has a way of convincing people. The nobility of Kirkwall didn't seem to care that she was half elf unless they wanted to undermine or justify their reason for hating her. In her presence they seemed to forget. She has spent nights thinking about calling this meeting, hahren.'

'Aye, of that I have nae doubt, I just worry that it ain't gonna go the way she thinks,' he muttered. 'There was always a fight when the Keepers were all here an' keepin' an eye on things, now half the Keepers have gone an' tensions will be high-' Silvanus stopped talking when Fenris sat next to him and looked over the camp that hustle and bustled around them. 'I worry, lethallin. Worried that this world be findin' another way to change things.'

Fenris nodded and leaned forward onto his knees as he wiped his face. 'I worry as well,' he admitted, making Silvanus feel better. 'When the Inquisitor arrived, I felt that Makatza would be tempted to leave. To join Hawke and put an end to whatever Corypheus is attempting to do. I would have had to follow her like always; I would not have been able to let her leave camp without being by her side and our children… I feel that having to choose between my wife and my children would have torn me apart. I would have always made the wrong decision either way.'

He cleared his throat and sat up straighter as he looked at Silvanus. 'I am still worried but she assured me that she is not leaving the clan. If that monster were to get his hands on her, to take her power would indeed be the end of the world as we know it. She is keeping our clan and family safe. They are her first priority. I am not surprised that she is trying to keep busy by reaching out to other clans.'

Curiosity overcame Silvanus, 'if ya had ta, who would ya have chosen?'

Fenris laughed darkly and gave Silvanus a sidelong look. 'Our children. At the end of the day, Makatza is a grown woman, capable of her own decisions and far stronger than I. As much as I loathe to admit it, she is perfectly capable of protecting herself. If I went with her, it would only to be able to appease my own guilt if anything were to happen. Leto and Mari, on the other hand… they are my everything. They carry their mother within them and I will protect them with my life.'

Silvanus nodded and patted him on the shoulder. 'I will look after te children tonight,' he said simply making Fenris raise a brow as he tilted his head in wonder. 'Leto is sleepin' through the night an' Mari has been askin' ta stay fer a couple days. It'll give you an' emm'asha time ta jus'… be with each other fer a while.'

Fenris could tell that Silvanus was worrying more than he let on but he understood his reluctance to voice it out loud. It would almost be like admitting it to himself and it hurt too much for that. 'Thank you, Hahren. It will be the first time that Makatza will be without Leto, so I cannot say that she will sleep well,' he joked, making Silvanus smile.

'Ach, ya ken where me tent is if it be too much ta bear,' he said as he stood up, stiffly. 'Mari with the other da'lens?' He asked as he glanced through the throng of working elves.

'Yes, Lolieen is looking after them as we speak. Observed by her mother of course,' he smiled returning to the deer that he had to finish before dinner.

'There be six of them now?' Silvanus asked as he mentally counted.

'Seven, between four and five years old. Makatza found out that Belle was expecting this morning, that will be a late winter babe,' Fenris said conversationally. 'I would not want to be in Lolieen's shoes. Mari is stubborn enough without another six children making her worse.'

Silvanus snorts and shook his head in good humour, 'she takes after her mother, through an' though,' he said making Fenris chuckle. Silvanus said his goodbye and made his way over to where he could hear children playing happily, a group throwing a ball to one another. The atmosphere in the clan was light and carefree, no one else really knew of the darkness that was approaching on the horizon. He looked at his granddaughter, her long hair braided away from her face; almost a carbon copy of her mother at that age. His heart ached; absence of his wife still cut deep even all these years later. He understood what Fenris meant, he would do anything to keep his family and clan safe. Silvanus was knocked out of his depressing spiral as Mari caught sight of him and squealed happily, running over to jump into his arms.

He laughed as he picked her up and she began to babble about what she had done that morning with the other children. 'Where's papa an' mama?' She asked as she peeked over his shoulder and pushed his head around in order to get a better view.

'Da'vehnan,' he laughed holding her with one arm and using his other hand to move hers out his face. 'They be workin'. Yer papa is makin' dinner an' yer mama is writin' letters an' sendin' out her wolves,' he said pretending to growl and making her squeal with laughter. 'I'll make sure ya see them at dinner, ya know that we always eat together,' he pointed out making her giggle. 'Do ya wanna stay with granpappy tonight?' He asked. Mari's eyes widened and she nodded enthusiastically as she hugged his head, 'we're gonna have ya little brother as well.'

'Yay! Weto comin' too!' She clapped her hands and wriggled until he put her down. Quickly enough she ran off to tell her friends her news, excited about what the rest of the day held.

Makatza stood looking out into the forest as her eyes glowed, she had a hand on her necklace as she concentrated. Fenris' hands gently touched her hips as he came up behind her and brought her out her trance. 'You have been here for half an hour,' he said softly as he kissed the side of her head.

She blinked, the light dimming from her eyes as she turned her head to look at him. 'I was just checking up on the packs,' she explained. 'They're making good time. It'll be a week at most before they find the deepest clans.'

'You are worrying too much,' Fenris said. 'There is a lot of that happening recently. What is done is done,' he assured. His grip on her hips tightened as he encouraged her to move. 'Come, my Katza, the children are happy with your father and I have a surprise for you.'

She smiled sweetly at him as she walked towards their tent, his hand moving to the base of her back as they moved. 'A surprise?' She said curiously. Fenris nodded, he was determined that for tonight she wasn't going to be thinking about anything to do with her responsibilities. 'What kind of surprise?'

'That would ruin the whole point,' he chuckled. He held open the flap to their tent for her to enter before closing it behind him and making sure that the ties were tightened for privacy. Makatza wandered over to their bed and sat on the end as she began to remove her foot wraps. She still struggled in the colder weather with her hands as she had never fully regained the mobility she used to have after the Carta incident. Once she was more comfortable, she looked to where Fenris was searching for something in a chest. 'I have been saving this for a few months. I had Hawke bring it when he brought the Inquisitor to the camp. You have been tense since that meeting,' he said as he pulled out a bag.

Makatza sighed and laid back onto the furs that covered their bed. Touching her necklace she nodded, 'it wasn't the Inquisitor… It was Solas,' she said quietly. She hadn't told Fenris as to whom the elf really was and she didn't want to hide it anymore. Truly she didn't really know the extent as to what Solas was but she knew for certain what his presence meant for the world.

Fenris raised a brow and walked over to a table that had a few glasses as he took the wine bottle out the bag. 'Solas? The man that is… involved with Lavellen?' He asked as he began to silently pour them both a glass.

Makatza giggled. 'Yes, it's not in the way you're thinking.'

'And in what way am I thinking?' Fenris asked as he walked over and sat next to her. She sat up and he passed the glass of wine and waited until she had taken a sip before taking a sip of his own.

She gasped and looked at the wine and then him, 'Fenris, this is- This is the first wine that we shared together,' she said as she smiled brightly at him.

'Drink and mock the Tevinter Imperium as you do,' he said, reflecting the words he said all those years ago. Before they were even together but the feelings that he had for her had begun to grown.

Katza's eyes began to water as she looked at him, they had been together for almost eight years. He had changed a lot over those years but only in ways that she felt made him more of a handsome and caring person. He was always muscular and lean and even though she had seen him dressed in Dalish clothing for the last five years it still made her smile. His hair was currently pulled up and out the way, a few strands wandering free throughout the day. His tattoos had paled over the years and faded but she still found them beautiful and could trace them in her sleep. She raised a hand and cupped his cheek as she stared into his green eyes, 'you know how much I adore you, don't you?' She said softly.

The corner of his lips twitched into a smile as he pressed the palm of her hand against his lips, placing a chaste kiss against her skin. 'Your feelings are only rivalled by my own for you,' he said sweetly. He grinned as he moved her closer by pulling on her hand, 'you did not answer my question though, wife,' he teased, a glint in his eyes.

Makatza giggled and rolled her eyes playfully as his fingers trailed up her arm and around her back to hold her close. 'I am thinking about Solas,' she paused on purpose to watch his expression and then continued, 'but, it is only because he is a threat.'

Fenris raised a brow as she explained what she knew about him and what it could possibly mean to their people. 'I see,' Fenris said after she had finished. 'What do you wish to do?'

'What? No instant thought of just killing him?' Makatza teased.

He laughed and shook his head before taking another sip of his wine. 'My Katza, this is beyond my expertise. This is magic and the veil, the fade and spirits and gods. If he were a normal man that brought you so much worry, I would be able to solve that easily. I am afraid that the only thing I can offer you is my support,' he said honestly.

Makatza moved closer to him and they made themselves comfortable. She sat in between his legs as he leaned back against the headboard. They drank their wine and she desperately tried not to think of the future and simply be in this moment. 'I will have to see what happens with the arlathvhen,' she said as she was unable to focus. 'After that I will have a much clearer vision of the path ahead of us,' she said before she finished her wine.

'There is time before then,' he replied as he kissed the top of her shoulder. 'It seems to me that you are in need of some distraction,' Fenris said as he placed their wine glasses to one side. His hands went to her waist as he began to playfully nip the inside of her neck. Makatza releases a small moan as she leans back into his touch.

Her hands reach up and begin to pull at the tie in his hair as he continues to tease her with small kisses and bites. 'It has been too long,' she admitted, the familiar heat blossoming in her navel as his fingers dug into her hips.

'There have been more important things,' he said in a murmur, pausing as he feels his hair come loose; her fingers finally untying his braid. Her nails run over his scalp and he breathes heavily.

Makatza grinned and turned around so that she was sitting in his lap, 'not at this moment,' she whispered before kissing him deeply, nipping at his lip as she pulled away. She could feel her stress and worries begin to dissipate. Fenris growled at her playfully and pushed her back down against the furs, unhappy about being teased with her kisses. He lie over her, between her legs as he pinned her hands above her head with one of his own, the other gripping her waist tightly.

'We are alone tonight, I plan to take my time,' he said a little breathlessly, his voice deep and it vibrated against her skin, making her toes curl.

'Promises, promises.'

So there we go, I am thinking about continuing the smutty scene in the next chapter. Let me know if you would like something different. I apologise for any grammar/spelling/tense mistakes. I will be totally honest, I didn't proofread, I was too excited to post.
