ONE MONTH LATER:
Chris becomes Big Man on Campus at school and becomes popular with the other kids for being the grieving boy of a dead sister. Chris becomes friends with the popular boys, has sex with the hot girls, and is given special treatment by the teachers who pass him on tests and give him good grades just because of his dead sister. In actuality, Chris doesn't care that his sister is assumed dead, and he's just soaking up the fame and fortune. Chris decides to get a little internet love, by posting a sad Facebook post about how much he misses Meg.
Meg goes bowling with her new friends at a different bowling alley, Klaus makes puns every time someone gets a strike.
Meg sees some Facebook posts from Chris about how he misses her deeply. Thinking this is sincere, Meg feels appreciated and is convinced to come back home but she doesn't know how to go about it at this point.
Several days later, Meg gets homesick and meets Chris outside of the school, where Meg asks for Chris' help announcing her return. Chris doesn't want Meg to ruin his popularity, so he shoves her into a moving van and has her sent off to an abandoned warehouse, where she gets tied to a chair. This way, Chris can keep up his status of being a popular kid, under the guise that Meg is still dead.
In the abandoned warehouse, instead of freeing herself like the original, Meg is found and freed by Hayley, Klaus, and Jeff.
Meg's memorial service at Adam West High School is interrupted by Meg herself, busting in and revealing that she's still alive. Everyone is shocked to see her return and Meg announces that Chris is responsible for what just happened. Principal Shepherd misinterprets this as Meg saying that Chris is responsible for her return and everybody cheers for Chris. Chris, feeling guilty about how he treated his sister, stops the cheering and announces the truth. He says that he locked Meg in a van and sent her away.
"And where-ever Meg is, I know she'll forgive me."
"I'm right here!" Meg screamed angrily, but nobody acknowedges her and instead just cheer for Chris again, applauding him for his honesty and they carry him away on a wave of fame, still relegating Meg as secondary.
Hayley, who came along with Jeff and Klaus, comes over to comfort her.
"If it makes you feel better, my welcoming committee wasn't much better," Klaus said, being carried in his cup by Jeff.
SMITH HOUSE - SEVERAL DAYS EARLIER:
"I'm back!" Klaus cried excitedly, but the other Smiths barely acknowledged his existence and were all reading.
"Guys, I've been away for nearly two months!"
"Yes Klaus, I'm sure it was great," Stan said, not listening.
"I left to find myself, but I missed you gu-"
"God Klaus, fine we're get you gum." Francine groaned.
"I'm back!" Hayley cried, this time the Smiths all get and greet her excitedly, and poor Klaus let out a sad sigh.
