Neptune and Weiss are too excited to get engaged. And even if the world ends, they'd rather be happy together than be emotionally scarred by the previous events.

After the proposal, they went back inside the house. Saturn and Ceres waited for them and smiled at the two. Ceres turned to her father.

"Finally." Ceres sighs.

"I knew my boy can do it." Saturn nods with his arms folded, and eyes closed.

"It sounded as if you saw it coming." Ceres adds. Saturn could remember when Neptune met Weiss at the age of 6.

Saturn and 6-year-old Neptune were taking a walk around Argus in the park. There they see a young girl crying near a fountain. She has white hair and ice blue eyes.

"Dad, she's crying. Why is she sad?" Neptune asked, wondering what could've caused the girl to be sad. Neptune tugged on his father's pant leg, begging for an answer.

Saturn looked at the young girl, and felt sympathy for her. Then he sees a flower salesman nearby selling flowers. An idea came to mind to help Neptune with his social interactions. But to also help the girl feel better with whatever situation she is dealing with.

Saturn knelt down to his son. "Neptune, why don't you buy flowers for the girl and give it to her? It can help make people smile when down." Saturn gave him some lien to him.

Neptune then walks up to the flower salesman, and hands him lien. "Thank you, young man. Pick whichever flowers you like." The salesman offered. Neptune picks white lillies.

Neptune then walks up to the girl and held out flowers for her. "Hi." He began. The girl sniffled and looked at the boy. Who looked at her with genuine concern.

"Why are you sad?" Neptune asked.

"My grandpa. He is sick. I don't want him to go." The girl explains. She cried, but softly. Not wanting to make too much noise. Neptune then gives the girl flowers. "Here."

"Huh?" The girl tilted her head, confused.

"My dad says flowers can help make you smile. Why not give them to your grandpa, so that he can be happy?" Neptune offers.

The girl was hesitant to take any gifts from those she just met. But it felt right when her hand takes it gently. She smells the lillies and sighs. "I like them. Thank, you."

"Weiss, there you are! I have been looking for you!" An old man went looking for the girl Neptune is talking to. Upon seeing tbe old man's face, he recognized him from the media before.

Weiss ran up to the old man, who is her grandfather. "Grandpa Nicholas! Look, a boy gave me flowers as a present for you!" Weiss said. Feeling better from the ordeal, at least for the moment.

"Did he now?" Nicholas asked. As he takes a look at the flowers Neptune had given to Weiss.

Weiss nodded and hands them to him. He then turned to Neptune. "You're a very thoughtful young boy. Thank you for what you did for my granddaughter." He said to the little boy.

"I just wanted to help, sir." The boy chirped.

Nicholas knelt to the Neptune to give him advise. "If you can help others, for better or for worse, something good will come out of it in the future. Not just for you, but also those you hold dear. The past does not define who you are."

Neptune smiled at response. Nicholas turned to Saturn. Saturn seemed to recognized him, and looks regretful when facing him. Nicholas was aware that the blue-haired man was the son of his former best friend, Uranus Vasilias. But Nicholas doesn't hold any grudges towards him for the past. As he knew Saturn didn't want any harm towards his children, nor on everyone else.

"That's a nice son you raised, sir." Nicholas assured him.

"Um... Thank you. Are you and your granddaughter going to be okay?" Saturn asked in concern. Knowing the little girl might eventually lose her grandfather in the future. Then Nicholas held back his coughing onto his arm. Then Nicholas sadly smiles to not seem worried. Weiss gasped seeing this, knowing it didn't feel okay to him. But held back her sadness to make sure her grandfather gets home and rest.

"I'll be fine. What matters is that I have to make most of it for my grandchildren. Have a good day, sir."

"Yes, you too." Saturn replied and held his son's hand. Neptune looks back at the girl.

Weiss waved goodbye to Neptune as she held her grandfather's hand and left the park.

"Are they going to be okay, Dad?" Neptune asked his father.

"I'm sure everything will work out, son. But not everything could. Let's go home. Your mother is waiting for us." Saturn held Neptune's hand, and father and son returned home.

In the present, Weiss and Neptune have sat on the couch in the living room, where Christmas lights sparkled on a pine tree. Red and green ornaments covered in glitter and swirls hanging on the walls. Holding hands like it was no tomorrow.

Saturn, who is watching them having a moment, smiled. It reminded him of those times he has with Lydia prior to marriage.

But the moment was interrupted when Weiss received a scroll call from her younger brother. "Sorry. I need to take this." Weiss said to her fiancé.

"It's okay, no need to rush." Neptune assured her. Weiss then answers the call.

"Yes, Whitley? What is it?" Weiss asked.

As Weiss listens, her eyes widen as she hears what her brother told her. "Are you serious?! Okay, I'll be on my way." Weiss said. She hung up and put away her scroll.

"What is it, Weiss?" Neptune asked.

"It's Whitley. He says the company is in trouble due to a series of heists and thieveries. There's a new project he was coming up with, but there were sabotage attempts." Weiss explains. "I have to head to Neo-Atlas to see what is going on."

"I'll go with you." Neptune said. Weiss looked to him with worry.

"Neptune, are you sure. You should stay here and spend time with your father and sister." Weiss interjects. But Neptune holds her hand.

"Hey, I don't mind. Anywhere you go, I'm with you. Besides, maybe this way, I can try to get to know your mother and brother better. I know this is fast. But thought this could be a way to spend our first Christmas this year. Even if it means taking down Grimm, and catching criminals on the spot." Neptune said.

Weiss took thought about this. But when Neptune makes a pleading look, it was just too adorable to look away. Then Neptune hugs Weiss to convince her to let him come. "Neptune!" Weiss laughed, she cannot hold back amymore.

"Come on, admit it. You want me to come." Neptune teased.

Weiss then gave into defeat. Running the back of his head, pulling him close. "You're just too adorable." She sighs.

The two packed up to leave for Neo-Atlas. Saturn and Ceres see them off as they stepped outside. "Be careful and have fun, you two!" Ceres called. And waved as they get into the car.

"We'll be back before Christmas!" Weiss replied.

"You don't have to. Just take your time!" Saturn replied back. The couple drove away in their car and set off to Neo-Atlas. For their first case, as a detective couple. One of the themes that Neptune and Weiss like in the novels. Mystery, action. But the part they like to add is romance also.

But they wouldn't go too far to make it like it was part of a book they would've unintentionally written in their story.

"Well, Neptune. Looks like our first case just came." Weiss said to Neptune with a smile. He does the same for her.

"I know, right? Didn't expect this to happen, though." Neptune replied.

"Life is full of the unexpected sometimes, Neptune. Just like the time we met. I didn't expect us to be together. But in the end, it was impossible to ginore your attempts to win me over." Weiss giggled.

"Well, I can't resist your beautiful smile and passions." Neptune replied lovingly. Causing Weiss to be flustered at his compliment.

"Aww! You did it again!" Weiss awed.

In Neo-Atlas, a city that is now an ultramodern version of Atlas since the fall of the previous city. Just like before, the city floats in the air above the snowlands of Solitas. Only this time, Mantle is now included among the citizens of Atlas.

Atlas Academy is now rebuilt under the management of the new headmistress and new general of the military, Winter Schnee.

With collaboration of Nire Indistries, they now offer scholarships to those fortunate and unfortunate alike to give them a change of their lives however they desire through talent and skill.

Weiss and Neptune were picked up in a limousine that Whitley had sent after their arrival.

"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous." Neptune admits. "I mean, I heard your brother is not the kind of person to endure bad impressions. Considersd the fact he didn't like me at first because of what happened before the Fall of Atlas."

"Don't worry about it, Neptune. I get what you mean. My brother can be uneasy sometimes. But don't worry, he will have to get to know you first. He already sees the fact for how blind he and I have been too long since my dad have pitted us against each other. I'm sure now my brother understands why we have to put Father in prison for good." Weiss assured him.

"Okay, but let me know if I was messing things up. Cause from what I heard, there's gonna be a gala tonight." Neptune adds. Knowing he might be a bit clumsy when it comes to making impressions. He wasn't the same flirty teenage boy trying too hard to play cool anymore. Being an adult now, Neptune has grew past those personality traits.

"Just relax, and try to get to know Whitley. He could use a "guy-chat" with you, and he never had that other than with business partners. And he doesn't have any friends growing up, since he spends too much time studying." Weiss advised him. Neptune knew she is right. Cause once they marry, that will make Whitley his brother-in-law. He will have to connect with Weiss' family for her sake.

Once they get off the limousine, Weiss and Neptune exited the vehicle and walked towards the entrance, hand-in-hand. They are met by a young woman around Whitley's age, wearing a black casual sweater and a straight, long, knee-cut skirt. And sunglasses, and her reddish-brown hair is tied up into a ponytail. Judging by the uniform, she must be a bodyguard.

"Hello, can I help you?" Asked the bodyguard.

"Hi, we're here to see Whitley Schnee." Weiss replied.

"Name please?"

"I'm his sister, Weiss Schnee. And this is my partner Neptune. We're here to see him by his invitation." Weiss and Neptune took out their invitations to the gala. The guard takes a look at them after holding down her shades.

"Ah, yes. Miss Schnee. Please accept my apologies. Your brother is expecting you. Hold on a minute." Kirsten, the bodyguard, then called Whitley with her scroll. Weiss noticed her scroll, and it has a huntsmen license on it. She must be a huntress trained to become a bodyguard. Weiss had been thinking about asking her some questions, but that will have to wait for now.

"Mr. Schnee. Your sister is here. Yes? Uh-huh. Her partner is here too. Okay, I'll send them in." She hung up and turned to the couple. "You two may enter." She said as she opened the gates to the new Schnee Manor.

Weiss and Neptune sees the statue of Nicholas Schnee, the former patriarch of the Schnee Family. Neptune has heard stories of him when he was a child. Now looking back, there was something familiar about his face years ago. But he cannot remember when he saw him before.

The couple are noe met by Whitley, whom Weiss hasn't seen for at least been in contect with since now their elder sister, Winter, cut contact for some reason.

"How are you today, sister." Whitley greets his sister. Weiss hugs her brother. "It's been a while, Whitley. How have you been?"

"Aside from recovery from previous events. Mother and I have been having a quiet life. But it wasn't so bad. In fact, it just gave us time to come up with some projects. Other than that, we're doing well. And Mother has been getting herself a hobby by collecting samples of plants for her scrapbook. And yoga." Whitley explains.

Whitley then faces Neptune. It was an awkward silence. As far as Whitley remembered, Neptune helped Weiss put Jacques in jail. On the one hand, he is free to choose and it gave him an independent life without his father. It gave him and his mother a chance to heal.

On the other hand, part of him misses his father. But Whitley hates himself for feeling this way. But he knew his father had to pay for his crimes. He felt bad for the way he looked down on Neptune because they were supposed to be enemies. Since Jacques is enemies with Neptune's mother, Lydia Vasilias, who is a prosecutor against Jacques' cases.

And seeing how Neptune makes his sister happy. He had been thinking about giving the blue-haired boy a chance.

Whitley approaches the future detective, and extends his hand for a greeting. "I am grateful for what you did for my mother and sisters, Mr. Vasilias. I know I didn't treat you right from the beginning. But I hope to make amends for the next time we meet, which is now. For that, I apologize for having played any oart of my father's schemes. And yhe fact he did mkre harm than good to your family."

Neptune, seeing how remorseful his fiancée's brother is, simply smiles and shook Whitley's hand. "For what is worth, I am glad you're doing well too. But hey, let bygones be bygones." Neptune agrees. "Also, just call me Neptune."

Weiss sighs in relief to hear it. No fighting, no arguing. Just amends. "Follow me. We need to get you both ready to the gala. This way you can have find pit about the guests that may raise suspicion." Whitley told them.

Whitley showed them around the new mansion. It was exactly like the old one Nicholas used to own prior to his passing. But with a few adjustments. Faces of Weiss and Whitley's father – Jacques – removed from the previous portraits due to bad memories.

Guest rooms made for future generations of family visiting. Including the movie theater room where it was like the one they used to watch movies with their grandfather.

Then Whitley leads the couple to the guest room to use for rest. Two beds. Two bow windows with blue curtains. "This will be your room for now until things have settled." Whitley said. "I'll have the others get the luggage sent to you." Whitley assured them.

"Thank you, Whitley." Weiss said.

"Yes, it's very helpful. Thank you." Neptune said.

Then a servant accidently knocked off a glass snowflake that was on the mirror table. "Sorry, Master Whitley. I didn't see that..." Whitley cut him off.

"It's alright. I'll get another one. Please help the others set the table." Whitley tasked. The servant nodded and left. "Of course, sir." Said the servant. He left.

Weiss can see how the mansion came to the positive light. No fear, no conflict. The place is different. But it felt like happy memories came back to her before her 10th birthday.

And seeing her younger brother matured, it gave her hope that their grandfather's legacy is in good hands. And will be there when necessary.
