Hollywood What If Chapter 268

The plot of John Wick Chapter 2 was the same as the past life that Kazir watched. Some scenes were added and some scenes were erased but the overall plot was basically the same.

There were some cameos about Wesley Gibson and Raizo as well, making the movie more exciting. But the one who made the movie complete was none other than John Wick himself.

His battles were all amazing and there was never a boring moment in the theaters. The last few minutes were even hyped after the High Table announced that John Was was "excommunicado".

With that as the premier, the audience stood up and clapped their hands. As always, CCU movies are always delivered. They stuck to their formula but leveled it up.

The cast stood up on the stage and bowed. The premiere usually had some interviews and the reporters asked the cast and the director about the project.

Unlike last time, when Fremont was in tears, the black director was composed and confident in his speech. He decided to keep his fade haircut instead of growing his hair and returning his afro hair look. Being a director was very stressful and busy. Maintaining his afro hair was never an option in this work. Heck, there were times when he couldn't take a shower at all.

Fremont and Viggo were the stars of this project so most of the questions were pointed at them.

After two consecutive successful movies, it seemed that Fremont climbed the ladder for big directors. Directors who had box office appeal, someone who could make a profit off their art.

Kazir knew that his job was done and decided to do the next step.

Kazir and Sony-Columbia signed a contract that Kazir would direct two Spider-Man movies. Sony-Columbia wanted a trilogy contract but Kazir's side had the upper hand so the outcome was only two movies.

Sony-Columbia decided to release Spider-Man 2 in 2004, three years from now.

Meaning, Kazir had two years to do his stuff.

After contemplating, he decided to go and compete for the Best Director Award for the 75th Academy Awards set in 2003.

Actually, Kazir had so many ideas in his mind but he didn't what to choose.

So first, he got to talk to Tom Cruise, asking the actor if he wanted to compete for Oscars.

Tom Cruise received four nominations for the Academy Awards in his entire career but he never won.

He was nominated twice for Best Actor for his roles in Born On The Fourth Of July and Jerry Maguire.

Have you seen Tom Cruise in a wheelchair with a thick mustache and long balding hair? Yes, the handsome young actor tried to destroy his career for his role in Born On The Fourth Of July, giving him a nomination for Best Actor. But oh well, his sacrifice didn't get him a golden statue.

Tom Cruise was famous for choosing a safe role and keeping his image as a handsome guy. He rarely chooses roles that could destroy his image.

Seven years after Born On The Fourth Of July, Tom Cruise took the role of Jerry Maguire but that was not enough for him to win a golden statue either.

Last year, in 2000, Tom Cruise got a Best Supporting Actor nomination for his supporting role in Magnolia... He didn't win it either.

As for his fourth nominations... It would happen 23 years later, a nomination for Best Picture with Top Gun: Maverick.

None of his four nominations gave him a statue. Everyone admitted that Tom Cruise was a superstar but the golden statue was not meant for him.

Kazir has been a fan of Tom Cruise since a long time ago, even in his past life. The fact that Rain Man was Kazir's first job in this industry added to that.

Kazir and Tom had a short conversation on the set of Rain Man and that memory lasted in Kazir's mind, giving him the truth that actors and actresses were humans: A normal person like him had a chance to talk to Tom Cruise, like they were just two normal people.

After that, Kazir decided to be one of his fans. Simple as that. Perhaps Tom Cruise was one of the reasons why Kazir pursued his career to become a director.

Even though it sounds stupid, Kazir wanted to return the favor by inviting the actor to be the protagonist of his project... Erm, he was still not sure what movie to produce.

First, he got to probe Tom about his opinion on participating in the Oscars.

...

...

...

"The premier is still not over but you already left the place, why is that?"

"Nah, it's their movie, not mine. They should get all the attention."

"Wow, so our talented director Kazir Grey is actually arrogant. Believing that he is attracting the attention of the reporters."

"I should say that to you as well. I saw some people asking for your autograph. Bruh, you're just a guest, you should act like one."

Kazir and Tom made fun of each other and laughed at each other.

Kazir didn't talk about Tom's love life since it might be a sensitive topic. Instead, after drinking a couple of shots of liquor, he asked Tom about his opinion on the Oscars.

"Tom, what do you think of the Academy Awards?"

"Hm?" Tom was quite surprised but perhaps because of alcohol, he didn't mind the question.

"If you're going to ask me about the Academy Awards, it's a program that glorifies Hollywood. I admit that the members are prejudiced and never like the opinions of the public, but the Academy Awards indeed is one of the reasons why Hollywood is standing still."

"Are you interested in getting a golden statue?"

"You mean a Best Actor Award? Of course I am. That's the dream of every actor in this industry. Academy Awards is full of shit, but I can't deny that the prestige it brings is powerful. It means that the industry accepted the truth that my acting is worthy of an award."

Tom Cruise started blabbering about his thoughts on the Oscars. As for Kazir, he just listened.

The next day, Tom Cruise would realize that Kazir had a reason why he kept asking him questions about the Oscars.

[Author's Note: Some readers told me about United 93 and I'm quite interested in the movie so I'm going to watch it tomorrow. The movie might be Oscars worthy. What are your thoughts about it?]
