Our heroes have reached Kumquat Island, a well known luxury resort that's also the home of the fourth—and final member of the Orange Crew. Who Ash must defeat to qualify for the Orange League competition.
Ash was looking forward to relaxing for a bit on this island before challenging the final Orange Crew member. Hard to believe he only has one more badge to go before qualifying for the Orange League competition. Time really does fly.
"This place is supposed to have great hotels, beautiful beaches, and natural hot springs." Tracey informed.
"Going to the hot springs sounds like a good idea." Ash was all for it.
"It would be nice to sit there and relax." Serena was looking forward to going.
"I'd love to take a dip myself." Misty voted to go to the hot springs.
"Same here." Ritchie was always interested in going to one.
"I wanna go, too!" Molly said.
"Me, too!" Tomo said.
"Then I guess it's settled then. We're all going to the hot springs." Ash made the final decision for the group.
There were tourists everywhere on the island. People were gathered around, smiling, laughing and just having a good time. This certainly was a very popular island to stop by and relax.
"Okay, before we head to the hot springs why don't we check into a hotel? Then we can get something to eat after." Ash suggested.
"Sounds like a plan. The hotels here are known for having the best deals and I bet if we act fast we might be able to get a good room." Tracey looked really excited to go.
"Then let's hurry up and go already!" Misty wanted to see what the hotel looked like from the inside.
Ritchie looked over at the beach and saw a hot dog vendor, "Hey, before we do that, why not get a hot dog? They look really good."
"Pika Pika (I could eat one right now)!" Sparky's mouth was drooling.
Fennekin flinched in disgust, "Fenne Fennekin! Fennekin (Don't be such a slob! And wipe your mouth)!"
Pikachu sighed, "Pika Pikachu (Enough already)."
"Lunchary at bargain prices, hurry!" a woman with short red hair was trying to get people to come over to her hotel. She was looking around to see if anyone was interested but stopped when she noticed Ash's group were walking towards the beach, "My boy!" She gasped.
As the group almost made it to the hot dog vendor, they felt the ground rumble. Before they could question the strange feeling, they spotted a woman with short red hair charging right at them.
"Sonny boy!" She cried happily, "Sonny boy, its mama!"
Ritchie was looking around confused, "Uh, who is she? And more importantly…who's "Sonny boy?"
"I'm not…sure." Serena was more interested to know why the woman was running at them.
Her question was answered when Ash was suddenly hugged by the woman, "My Sonny's back with his mama! My son! My pride! My joy! My heart! Your home!" she pulled back finally.
Ash blinked, clearly confused, "Um, excuse me ma'am, but who are you?"
"Travis, you don't even remember your own mommy?" The woman asked, heartbroken before hugging him again, "Oh, my little pumpkin, mama's here now!"
Ash pulled away from her, "I'm sorry ma'am but my name is Ash, and I already have a mother. I'm not your son." He apologized.
The woman got a good look at Ash and realized that he was indeed not her son, "Oh, my goodness. I could have sworn you were Travis. Please forgive me, it must be what people call "wishful thinking." She apologized, smiling.
"Pika Pika (She must really miss her son)." Pikachu said.
"I guess your son really looks like Ash." Tracey guessed.
"Yes, he does. And he even had his Pikachu with him when he left on his pokemon journey." The woman confirmed. She remembered the day he left, setting off on that boat to travel different lands while on his journey. And her seeing him off with a tearful smile and wishing him luck on his journey, "My Travis…"
Misty smiled, "It sounds to me the reason your son went away was because he wanted to be a Pokémon Master."
"Yes, that's right. Are you doing the same, Ash?" She asked him.
"In a way. I guess you could say its part of my goal." Ash said.
"I see." She smiled.
"It also sounds like your son loves pokémon in the same way I do." Ash could tell her son was very kind and sweet.
"You know, I think you and Travis are…so much alike that I—" Her words were cut off by a scream that made them turn to the water. A giant, mechanical Rhydon sprung out of the water.
Ash groaned, annoyed, "Let me guess…Team Rocket." And he would unfortunately be proven right when they started to do their ridiculous motto.
"You clowns seriously have nothing better to do than be a public nuisance, do you?" Ritchie said, dryly.
"Pika (These guys are losers…)." Sparky's tone was just as dry.
"How dare you insult us!" Jessie yelled.
"Let's see how you twerps like this! Unlike before, this robot of ours is pokemon proof!" Meowth bragged.
In true Team Rocket fashion the three caused trouble for the people on the beach and used their robot which had both Wheezing and Arbok inside the robot attack the innocent people. This action disgusted them and Ash was about to send out Charizard to send them flying off like always, even when he was almost hit by Arbok's Poison Sting attack, but someone else intervend.
"Alakazam, Reflect Now!"
Alakazam teleported in front of Ash and created a yellow sphere to block the Poison Sting attack. Ash saw the pokémon belonged to the woman.
Serena scanned it:
[Alakazam, a Psi Pokémon. This Pokémon uses Psychic attacks to overcome its opponents.]
"Alakazam, great work!" She complimented then frowned at Team Rocket, "Listen up! I'm only gonna say this one time—get out and never come back or believe me you'll regret it!"
Team Rocket were surprised by the woman's fearless attitude towards them.
"She's got a—" Jessie starred to say.
"-big mouth." James finished.
Ash was concerned for her safety but had a feeling she could handle herself just fine, "Be careful ma'am. These three can be dangerous when they want to be."
"I can be pretty dangerous myself." She assured him.
Jessie wasn't impressed, "Just get out of my way, grandma!"
Misty clapped back at her, "I wouldn't call her grandma if I were you, you old witch!" She insulted.
"She's worse than an old witch! She's a withered old witch!" Molly joined in.
Jessie felt a vein appear on her forehead, "Did they just call me…old…?!"
Jame and Meowth were scared, "Don't listen to her, Jessie! What does she know about aging?"
"Yeah, she ain't the expert like you." Meowth added.
Jessie blew up at them, "I'M NOT OLD, HOW DARE YOU!"
"Ma'am, are you sure you don't want us to handle this?" Ash offered.
"That's sweet of you to offer, Ash but I think an Orange Crew Gym Leader should be able to take care of this herself, don't you?" She winked.
Ash blinked before smiling, "I guess so."
Jessie growled, "I'll make you pay for calling me old! James, full scale Smog attack!"
"Roger!" James switched out Arbok with Wheezing to send a Smog attack at them. The woman wasn't worried.
"Alakazam, use Psychic to shut that robot's mouth!"
Alakazam brings its two spoons together as its body glows orange before making the robot's mouth close shut. The Smog attack ended up getting Team Rocket.
"I'll take over now!" Ash threw a pokeball, "Charizard, I choose you!"
"Charizard, use Dragon Breath!"
Charizard releases a green and yellow or light blue beam from its mouth at the robot. The controls inside gave off sparks before it exploded and sent them flying like always.
"Team Rocket's blasting off again!"
Ash shook his head, "They'll never learn, will they?" He asked Pikachu.
"Pika Pika (No they won't)." Pikachu didn't disagree.
"You did an excellent job." The woman was impressed by his skills and his Charizard.
"Thank you, ma'am. I hope this isn't too rude, but can I ask to challenge you to a gym match?" Ash asked.
"I would be very pleased to have a match with you, Ash. But I won't go easy on you." She teased.
"I wouldn't have it any other way, miss..." Ash just realized he didn't ask for her name.
"It's Luana." Luana she smiled.
Who's That Pokémon?
It's…Dodrio!
"Dodrio!"
After dealing with Team Rocket, they first went to the Pokémon Center where Ash switched two of his pokémon out and also to see how Professor Oak was doing before leaving. Luana brought them all to her hotel, which also acted as a base for her gym. They were impressed by just how big it was on the outside, which tells them it must be huge on the inside.
"This is where the gym is?" Ritchie couldn't believe it.
"Pikachu (It's so big…)." Sparky was impressed.
"I can't believe the hotel also acts as a gym." Serena was impressed by just how much thought these gym leaders put into their gyms.
"It's a perfect combination. Ash can have his match and we can have some fun." Tracey found it to be ingenious.
"Which means we can try out the hot springs!" Molly was excited.
"I can't wait!" Tomo felt the same way.
All of the hotel employees greeted her as she walked through the automatic doors. Luana greeted the attendant waiting for her at the door, "Sheldon, would you kindly prepare a deluxe suit for my guests, please?"
"Right away, ma'am."
Misty beamed, "Our own deluxe suit. Now that's sweet."
As they followed her to the gym they noticed some pokémon were exercising. That was really smart. The trainers can bring their Pokémon here so they get in shape, too. Talk about genius.
"And this is where we'll have our match." Luana brought them to an area that looked exactly like a gym stadium. The designs for this hotel are flawless.
"This is the nicest gym I've ever seen. It almost looks like a stadium." Tracey observed the details of the design.
Luana turned to Ash, "How about we make this more interesting and have a double battle pokémon battle, and each we'll each use two pkémon at the same time?" She suggested.
"A double battle…" Ash found it appealing.
"So what do you have to do to win a double battle?" Misty asked.
"It's simple. If one trainer's pokémon team can't go on battling anymore the other trainer wins the match." She explained.
"Kind of like a tennis match." Ash compared the two.
"Exactly!" Tracey agreed.
"I think my pokémon are going to enjoy this. Having a double battle will make things more fun." Ash smiled.
"Ash, that's just the kind of attitude a Pokémon trainer needs!" Luana slapped his back, pretty hard, too. But in typical Ash fashion it didn't seem to bother him.
"We can have our match tomorrow, till then you can all have free use of the hotel." She tells them.
"Thanks."
As they already planned to do today. They were currently in the hot springs enjoying themselves. The girls on one side, the boy's on the other. The water felt amazing!
"So, do you know which pokémon you're going to use, Ash?" Tracey asked.
Ash put a finger to his lips, "You'll find out tomorrow."
"In other words, "it's a secret," why am I not surprised?" Ritchie sighed, leaning back to enjoy the hot water.
The next day came quickly. Ash and Luana faced each other to have a praiseworthy battle. Ash himself was getting excited because this reminds him so much of when he and his mom would battle. Of course he never won in any of their battles, but he had fun.
This feels similar to those times.
"This battle pits visiting Pallet Town trainer—Ash Ketchum against Kumquat Gym Leader and Orange Crew member—Luana!" The attendant acted as referee, "The challenger stands to win a Jade Star Badge. The trainers have agreed in advance that this match will be conducted as a double pokémon battle."
Luana was ready to go, "Well, Ash these are the pokémon I'm using. Alakazam and Marowak!"
"Alakazam (Come, young one)!"
"Marowak (Get ready)!" Marowak said.
Ash smiled, 'She really did choose Alakazam just like I thought she would.' He brought out pokeballs, "Then, I choose…Gardevoir and Lucario!"
"Gardevoir (I will not be defeated)." Gardevoir declared.
"(We will be victorious)." Lucario was determined to win.
Tracey was astounded by the two pokémon, "Oh, wow! These are the very same pokémon he used in the Indigo League! They look strong!"
Ritchie couldn't wait for the battle to start, "This is gonna be good!"
"Pika (I'm getting all pumped up)!" Sparky grinned.
"Gardevoir, Lucario. Get ready." Ash said. Both pokémon nodded.
Luana smiled, "Both are no doubt strong individually, but let's see how they work together."
Gardevoir turned to Lucario, "Gardevoir (Don't hold back)." She warned.
"(I won't. For fathers sake we have to win)." Lucario frowned.
"Let the battle…begin!" Sheldon called for the match to start.
Ash and Gardevoir made eye contact and he nodded. She understood the signal and Teleported behind Alakazam, much to it and Luana's surprise.
"Shadow Ball."
Gardevoir forms a ball of black and purple energy with black static around it, then fires it at Alakazam's back—causing the psychic type to fly forwards.
"Whoa! Talk about getting the first hit!" Ritchie commented.
"Did he signal Gardevoir to teleport?" Serena wondered.
Luana smiled, 'Interesting move. And that pokemon of his is fast. Not even Alakazam's Teleport is that fast!'
"Marowak, use Bonemerang on Lucario!"
Marowak throws the bone that it is holding. Ash waited for it to get close enough to make his move.
"Bone Rush."
Lucario puts its paws together and spreads them apart, creating a light blue bone of energy. It used Bone Rush to send Bonemerang right back at a surprised Marowak. It slammed right in its face and sent it falling to the ground. Marowak wasn't knocked out though, but its face did hurt.
Luana was becoming more impressed with Ash's tactics. What made this even more impressive was the teamwork his pokémon were showing.
"Marowak, use Double-Edge on Gardevoir! Alakazam, use Psychic on Lucario!"
Ash smiled at the smart move she made, but he wasn't going to hold back.
"Gardevoir, Disable on Alakazam! Lucario, use Metal Claw on Marowak!"
Gardevoir's eyes glowed blue while Alakazam's body glowed blue, making it completely motionless. Lucario was already behind Marowak with the spikes on the top of Lucario's paws glow white and they grow, transforming into three claws and slashed Marowak.
"Nice counter!" Tracey said.
"Gardevoir and Lucario work really well together, don't they?" Serena was amazed by the teamwork between Gardevoir and Lucario.
"Those two are in perfect sync." Misty said.
Ash decided to finish this quickly, "Gardevoir, Moonblast on Alakazam! Lucario, Aura Sphere on Marowak.
Gardevoir gathers energy from the moon, it then turns an orb of pink energy in front of its hands. Lucario puts its hands together and creates a blue ball of energy in between them.
Gardevoir and Lucario fired both orbs at Alakazam and Marowak, "(Take this)!" They yelled in unison as both orbs hit their respective opponents. Smoke covered the arena as Luana gasped when it cleared to see that both her pokémon had been knocked out.
Sheldon called it, "The Gym Leaders pokemon, Marowak and Alakazam are unable to continue the battle. Victory goes to the challenger."
Luana's mouth hung open but she smiled as she believed Ash deserved this victory, "It's all over." The last time she had fun battling like this was when Travis was still here.
Ash hugged Gardevoir and Lucario, "I'm so proud of you two. You were amazing."
Gardevoir and Lucario were just happy they got a win for their father. The others came over all smiles.
"Congrats, Ash." Misty congratulated.
"That battle was amazing! Gardevoir and Lucario really do make the perfect team." Tracy complimented the two.
"You should do a double battle with them again someday!" Tomo said.
"Yeah!" Molly agreed.
Luana approached with a smile, "You did a fine job, Ash."
"Thank you. That battle we had was fun, it reminded me of the times when me and mom would battle." Ash smiled.
"What? You and Mrs. Ketchum used to battle?" Misty didn't know about that.
"Yeah, I never won but that didn't matter. We both had fun and that's all that mattered." Ash said.
Luana could tell Ash and his mom have a strong bond, "And now, as Kumquat Island Gym Leader and a member of the Orange Crew, I happily present to you this token of victory." She hands him the Jade Star Badge that's shaped like a purple snail shell with a small gemstone on it.
Ash felt pride at having gotten all four badges. This feeling was similar to when he got all eight badges back home.
"Wow…all four badges from the members of the Orange Crew." Tracey was impressed.
"And that means you can compete with other qualified trainers in the Orange League competition." Luana said.
"That's to win the Orange League trophy, right?" Misty asked.
"That's right, but to get it, Ash will have to beat the leader of the Orange Crew." Luana revealed.
"This leader must be strong." Ash said.
"The best. Winning that trophy won't be easy, but I believe you can win because you and your pokémon work together." Luana had faith that Ash would be okay.
Ash nodded, "We'll do our best because we're a team, right?" He said to Pikachu.
"Pika (Definitely)!" Pikachu smiled.
It was time to say goodbye. But before leaving, Ash went to the Pokémon Center to send back Gardevoir and Lucario, while Luana had her pokémon healed by Nurse Joy.
Luana went to see them off along with the hotel staff, "Ash, if you happen to see my son Travis will you tell him I miss him and give him my love?"
"Of course, I will." Ash promised. Both he and Travis were very blessed to have amazing mother's like Delia and Luana.
"It was nice to meet you." Misty smiled.
"Thank you for letting us stay in your hotel." Serena thanked.
"Thanks for everything." Tracey waved.
"The food was really good." Ritchie said.
"Take care of yourself." Molly said.
"I hope we meet again." Tomo smiled.
They sailed off as Luana waved them goodbye along with the other staff members, "Have a safe trip and battle as hard as you can for that Orange League trophy!"
"Bye!"
"Thank you!"
"Take care!"
Our three friends are headed towards their next big challenge…the Orange League Competition.
All was quiet and peaceful on an Island where the sun was shining, and there was peace. Shamouti Island is surrounded by three isles, Fire Island, Ice Island, and Lightning Island—these three are connected to the very balance. Should this balance be distributed by anyone…the world will fall into peril.
On the southern cliffs of Shamouti, overlooking Fire, Ice, and Lightning Islands stood a shrine. The stone structures are set up around the altar in which the treasures are placed, and hibiscus flowers grow all around. Standing in the middle of this shrine was a Slowking who stared at the stone tablet.
"Disturb not the harmony of Fire, Ice, or Lightning,
Lest these Titans wreak destruction upon the world in which they clash.
Though the water's Great Guardian shall rise to quell the fighting,
Alone its song will fail; thus the Earth shall turn to Ash.
O, Chosen One,
Into thine hands bring together all three.
Their treasures combined tame the Beast of the Sea."
A mysterious man recited the prophecy and smirked, "Now it…begins." He heard a final go off and focused.
"Analysis indicates that the Titan of Fire referred to in the ancient scription is the Legendary Pokémon Moltres—believed to have originated in a remote region of the Orange Islands. The Titan of Lightning is the pokémon Zapdos, and Articuno is the Titan of Ice."
The man walked towards the projector as each bird's picture came up on the screen.
"Historical documents confirm that the three Legendary Pokémon are unique species found only in the vicinity of Shamouti Island."
He sat down in a chair with a satisfied smile, "Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno. Any one of them would be a priceless addition to my collection. But together…they are the three keys that unlock the ultimate treasure." A map of the three islands was shown to the man
"Pokémon matching subject parameters, Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos, detected."
"Then let's get started." The man controlled the chair to lift him up, "Which one is nearest?"
"The fire pokémon Moltres."
"Good." It brought him to the highest point of the tower where he had a full view of each island. He was able to see this from his giant flying aircraft high in the sky. Since Fire Island was closer he decided to start there first by shooting ice cannons at Moltres's habitat. His plan was to force it to leave the island so he could capture it.
The plan worked as Moltres did indeed leave its island to confront the attacker who dared disturbed its slumber. Moltres took to the sky and spotted the aircraft, flying towards it in an attempt to punish the fool.
Unfortunately this is exactly what the man wanted. He smiled as Moltres flew towards him, "Now the chase…is on." He snapped his fingers. Firing more ice cannons at the flame bird Pokémon, Moltres maneuvered out of the way as best it could, but the continued barrage of ice cannons weakened it. Multiple rings flew out of the aircraft and flung at Moltres.
Moltres speeded flames at them and flew out of the way for some others. But unfortunately the rings combined and managed to capture it, shocks of electricity were sent through the combined rings to make Moltres more subdued as it was brought inside the aircraft.
"Well I've taken the first piece without much difficulty. It's like a simple game of chess, next I'll capture Zapdos and Articuno soon after, and that will flush out the King." He smiled, "And then…that's when the game is going to get interesting."
He couldn't wait.
"Bring together all three…their treasures combined tame the Beast of the Sea—
—Lugia."
Another perfect day in paradise, the weather—warm. The breeze is bombing. The water is calm and crystal clear. Even Pokémon Trainers deserve a break on a day like today. And as our heroes sail through the Orange Islands, Ash Ketchum senses something amiss that could lead to his biggest adventure yet.
Ritchie stretched as he yawned, "It's a nice day…perfect for a nap." He said.
"It's beautiful, right, Togepi?" Misty asked.
"Togiphree (Nice)!" Togepi cheerfully agreed.
Tracey stopped drawing and went over to Ash, "Hey, Ash think we have time to give the pokémon a little fresh air?" He asked.
Ash didn't respond as he kept his gaze on the clear blue sky. Tracey was confused by his friend's behavior and called his name again, "Ash?"
Ash snapped out of it and looked at Tracey, "Oh, sorry, Tracey. I was thinking about something and didn't hear what you said."
"It's okay. I just wanted to know if it would be okay to let the Pokémon get some fresh air instead of staying in their pokeballs." Tracey repeated his question.
"Sure, Tracey. It'll take us about an hour to get to the next island. There's plenty of time." The nice green haired captain who let them ride on her boat gave it the go ahead.
All of them released their Pokémon, but Ash kept Mewtwo and Snorlax inside their poke balls for obvious reasons. Same with Serena with her Rhyhorn.
I wanna take the ultimate step
Lapras was all smiles as she swam in the water.
Find the courage to be bold
To risk it all and not forget
The lessons that I hold
Blastoise was swimming next to her to make sure she didn't stray out too far. Charizard was flying in the sky and letting off flamethrowers just because. Pheromosa stood by Ash's side, acting as a sort of bodyguard. Ash didn't know how to feel about that, but so long as she wasn't attacking him, it's fine.
I wanna go where no one's been
Far beyond the crowd
Tracey let out Scyther, Venonat, and Marill. Venonat and Marill were happy to be out at sea, while Scyther was watching over them. Serena was near Tracey so she could watch him draw. Ritchie and Sparky were relaxing and just having a good time.
To learn the way to take command
Use the power that's in my hand
Misty sent out Goldeen and Staryu, the two water types were swimming with Lapras and Blastoise.
We all live in a Pokémon world
(Pokémon world)
I wanna be the greatest Master of them all
(Master of them all)
Molly and Tomo were looking out at sea and saw they were being followed by a bunch of Magikarp. Psyduck popped out of his own pokeball at the top of the boat.
We all live in a Pokémon world
Put myself to the test to be better than all the rest
Where he fell but thankfully landed near Tracey at the front of the boat with the rest of his pkémon. Tracey laughed at Psyduck's silliness, Marill and Venonat giggled, while Scyther took a nap.
So you wanna be a Master of Pokémon!
Understand the secrets and have some fun
So you wanna be a Master of Pokémon!
Do you have the skills to be number one?
Misty and Ritchie were talking about something, with the red head laughing and Ritchie laughing with her. Molly and Tomo sat down near Teddiursa and ended up falling asleep, their heads resting against each other.
We all live in a Pokémon world
(Pokémon world)
I wanna be the greatest Master of them all
(Master of them all)
They were being followed behind a very familiar Magikarp submarine. Team Rocket was once again following them on another island.
We all live in a Pokémon world
Put myself to the test to be better than all the rest
(Pokémon world)
I wanna be the greatest Master of them all
(Master of them all)
Tracey and Serena ended up falling asleep with his sketchpad still in his hand, and Serena leaning against him. Scyther and Venonat also fell asleep with Marill being the only one awake and walking around. Teddiursa also fell asleep next to Molly. Misty and Ritchie were just talking.
Ash and Pikachu still couldn't relax because there was still that feeling in the air. Mewtwo also felt it from his pokeball. A strange disturbance…
Their worries would be proven right when the weather suddenly changed out of nowhere. The boat started to rock violently, Ash went over by his siblings and grabbed hold of them. Misty grabbed Togepi to keep him from falling overboard. Serena and Tracey grabbed onto Fennekin and Marill. With this violent weather they decided to return their pokémon to their pokeballs. They held on as the violent waters calmed briefly.
Pikachu was still holding onto the boat but his serious expression didn't change. Deep beneath the waters a strange sound was heard, but one very familiar. The clear sky was gone as gray clouds replaced the once clear blue sky. The waves have finally calmed, but it won't last.
"We're way off course." The green haired girl said.
This got their attention as they looked over to see an island close by.
"That's Shamouti. We're right in the middle of the Orange Islands." She said. What made this feel so strange was the fact that it felt as though the water was intentionally bringing them to the island. Ash and Pikachu could feel something isn't right. It didn't know what. Perhaps Shamouti Island could shed some light.
The Magikarp in the sea were also helping to steer the boat towards the island.
Pallet Town
Even in Pallet Town the pokémon could sense that someone has distributed the balance. A flock of Pidgey were flying in towards the source of the disturbance, including their counterpart Spearow.
At the Ketchum residence, Delia was outside tending to the garden. By her side was Mimey, Clone Wigglytuff and Clone Machamp. Some of the cloned pokémon were rather fond of Delia because of her warm aura as a mother. Wigglytuff was holding a flower pot while Machamp helped water her plants.
"Thank you both so much for helping me with this. I really appreciate it." Delia thanked the two.
"Wigglytuff (We don't mind)." Wigglytuff was more than happy to help with the gardening. This human is the mother of their Savior.
"Machamp (I can do this all day)!" Machamp bragged, flexing his muscles while watering the plants.
Delia chuckled. She had no idea what they were saying but she's sure they were telling her they didn't mind helping out.
"Good morning, Delia. Well, you certainly have a green thumb." Professor Oak rode up to the house on his bike and complimented her gardening skills.
Delia appreciated his kind words, "Oh, thanks Professor. But the truth is I've been getting a lot of help with my garden lately thanks to these two. And the weather's just been beautiful."
"Well this is the time of year the sun shines everyday." Professor Oak smiled. Suddenly a gust of wind blew against him and Delia as they both looked up at the sky. Dark clouds were gathering and soon covered the sunny blue sky. Mimey hurried inside to get an umbrella.
Delia walked closer to the front gates of her house. Wigglytuff and Machamp both tensed as something didn't feel right. They could feel it. It started pouring down and Mimey came back just in time with an umbrella and covered Delia to keep her from getting wet. Professor Oak was not so lucky.
As quickly as the rain shower came, it left just as quickly. Professor Oak and Delia were quick to note just how strange that was.
"That was strange." Professor Oak said.
"And it passed by so quickly." Delia noticed a snowflake, "Oh, my! Snow!" She realized what she just said and looked back up to see it really was snowing, "It is snow." Now that was strange.
"But…this is Summer." Delia was confused now, "How can it snow?"
Professor Oak was just as stumped, "I don't know."
"Mime (Look)!" Mimey directed their attention back up to the sky to see an aurora. It changed from blue to purple to pink as a flock of Pidgey kept flying in the same direction. And just like that…it was gone. The sky was back to being sunny again.
Delia and Oak couldn't believe what just happened. What was that?
"Mime Mime (Over there)!" Mimey directed their attention over towards some Digglets that were following after the Pidgey. Oak's bike was being carried by them as he quickly got off and held on to the fenced gate.
Delia saw Mimey was freaking out, as were Wigglytuff and Machamp, "What's wrong?" She asked. The pokémon were telling her in their own unique way that something was wrong, "These three are very upset."
"Yes, and so are the other pokémon," Oak stared off in the direction where Pidgey and Digglet were headed, "Pokemon are more attuned with nature than we are. When something goes wrong, they can sense it. And I'm afraid something somewhere is going terribly wrong."
And he would be right.
Shamouti Island
They arrived safely on the island, but Ash and Pikachu were still feeling the strange disturbance in the air. Pokémon can sense a change in nature easily compared to humans, but Ash was a special case. Ever since awakening that strange power within him he's been more attune with nature and can sense the natural flow of his surroundings.
But the natural flow has been disturbed by someone. Ash doesn't fully understand but he has a feeling they were guided to this island for a reason. As for what reason that may be, he wasn't sure.
He got off the boat along with the others but his mind was still thinking, "We really are lucky the waves didn't swallow us up."
"Yeah, if we hadn't found this place we'd be in trouble." Misty didn't even want to think about it.
Tracey and Serena flinched from behind the group, "Um, guys…?" Serena started to say.
"I think we still might be." Tracey finished.
They were confused until they saw what the two were talking about. Standing above them were people wearing traditional clothing and masks. The mysterious people descended upon them quickly, prompting Ash to stand in front of Molly, Tomo, and Serena.
"Who are these people?" Ritchie was freaking out a little. Did they somehow land on an island with natives who eat human flesh! Like that horror movie he once saw as a kid!
"Maren, how are you?" One of the natives spoke in a friendly tone. She took off her mask, revealing a pretty girl with brown hair and green eyes, "It's been awhile."
"Carol, I can't believe it! It's great to see you." Maren, the green haired girl greeted back.
"What are you doing back on Shamouti Island?" Carol asked.
"We got caught up in that storm and floated in, and it's like we got here at the perfect time." Maren replied.
"Your right. The annual Legend Festival starts today." Carol said.
"This is my favorite island holiday. Are you gonna be the star of the show again?" Maren asked, making a gesture with her hands.
"No, I'm too old to be the Festival Maiden anymore. So this year my little sister's going to take over for me." Carol answered, then looked around, "I wonder where she could be—
—I'm right here!" A young girl said, sounding annoyed.
Standing there was a girl wearing a pink shirt without any sleeves, jeans, a green cap, sunglasses, sandals, and an orange purse, "The only one not wearing some stupid costume. You'd think after a few centuries you'd've outgrown this dorky ritual."
"It's our tradition. You should be honored to take part." Carol scolded her sister.
The girl didn't seem to care, "Don't worry, I'll play my role in the big legend. I've only seen you do it like a zillion times."
"Just be there." Carol said firmly, "Well unfortunately that's my little sister. Her name is Melody, but don't get fooled, she's not always this adorable." She was being sarcastic.
Carol then turned her attention to Ash and others, remembering they were still here, "Oh, who's this?"
"Oh, sorry. This is Ash Ketchum, he's a pokémon trainer." Maren introduced.
"Pokémon trainer?!"
Ash was taken aback by their reaction to him being a pokémon trainer. Where in the world did that come from? What made him feel even more unsettled was when they started cheering.
Someone with a blue mask emerged from the crowd, "The ancient legend foretells your arrival, and only with you can the Guardian of the Waters vanquish the great Titans of Fire, Ice, and Lightning." He removed his mask, revealing an old man, "In your hands, O Chosen One."
Ash wasn't liking this at all. This better be something they say to bring in tourists.
"In your hands rests the world and its fate." The man leaned in close and said.
"I see." Ash couldn't think of anything else to say.
The man smiled, "Don't let it worry you, kid. It's just for the tourists." He joked.
"Oh…" Ash knew the man wasn't serious, so why do his words make his chest burn?
"So your a Pokémon Trainer, huh?" Melody got close enough to look at Ash up close.
"So is Ritchie. He's my cousin." Ash gestured over to Ritchie but Melody laid him no mind as she looked him up and down.
"Hmmm, you've got a nice look. Not bad. Here's your traditional welcome kiss." Melody kissed his cheek, catching him off guard.
Serena didn't appreciate her giving him a kiss without his consent, and neither did Molly. Melody noticed the two girls were upset with her actions and asked them something.
"Are you two his little sisters?" Melody asked.
"I am not!" Serena replied with a frown.
Molly stood in front of Ash with her arms outstretched, "But I am! How dare you kiss my brother without permission, you shameless harpy!" She insulted her.
"Ursa (That's right)!" Teddiursa agreed.
Melody gaped like a fish at being called a "harpy" by a little kid.
Ritchie snorted, trying to keep from laughing and it wasn't easy. Misty herself was trying to keep from giggling. Tracey and Tomo were standing there hoping a fight wouldn't break out.
"D—Did you just call me a harpy?" Melody wanted to make sure she heard right. Her sister thought it was funny. Even the old man chuckled.
Molly glared up at her, "You heard me! Me and Teddiursa are part of the "Protect Big Brother from the Nasty Girls Club! You kissed him on the cheek without permission! You're a shameless harpy!"
Teddiursa nodded.
Serena smiled at Molly, "I agree, Molly. To kiss someone without their permission, even if it is a kiss on the cheek, is absolutely shameless."
Ash was already embarrassed Molly was even acting like this. But now Serena was getting in on this, too?!
"Hey, you. I'm not a "shameless harpy," or a "nasty girl." Little kids shouldn't be saying adult things like that." Melody said, trying to be the mature one in this situation.
"Fine, you're a nasty, shameless, cow!" Molly reiterated.
"Ursa (Even better)!" Teddiursa smirked.
Melody spluttered, "C—Cow…?!"
"Molly!" Ash exclaimed.
Ritchie lost it and laughed so hard he almost choked in his own spit. Misty had a giggling fit, while Serena stood there feeling proud with Molly. Tracey and Tomo sighed. Never a dull moment.
"We have found our Chosen One!" The old man announced as the rest of the people cheered. Ash didn't feel very festive right now even as they were led to where the Festival would be. Pikachu looked up at the sky sadly.
The festival was in full swing with people dancing and enjoying the festivities. Ash and the others were in the middle of eating food that was given to them by the villagers.
Serena was still feeling angry from earlier, "What was with her attitude? Seriously, someone should teach her some manners?" She chomped down on some chicken.
"I kinda wanna see how Ash is gonna take part in the Legend Ceremony." Ritchie was curious.
"Maybe big brother will do some kind of chant." Tomo said.
Ash on the other hand wanted no part in anything. Ever since they got here it feels as if an unseen force brought them here. And if it wasn't that, it was the feeling there was something more to all this. Everything felt wrong, but what can he do? Leaving when the weather is still unstable wouldn't be a good idea. But even if he wanted to leave, something compelled him to stay.
"Ash!"
He snapped back to reality at the sound of Misty's voice, "Huh? Sorry, what is it?"
Misty was starting to worry, "Are you okay? You've been spacing out a lot." She noticed it when they were in the boat and he's doing it again.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just have a lot on my mind." He replied.
"Do you wanna talk about—" Misty didn't get to finish her sentence when a shadow loomed over them. Both looked up quickly to see it was a pokémon, but it wasn't one they've seen before. Well, Misty hasn't seen before, but Ash has.
It was a bipedal, draconian pokémon that is primarily dark blue in color. It has red on its underbelly from the lower jaw to the middle of the abdomen, including the undersides of its arms. A patch of gold comes to a point below the red on its belly, and a golden star shape adorns the tip of its snout. Garchomp has horn-like appendages that resemble a jet or plane's engines, giving it an appearance similar to a hammerhead shark. Its large mouth features razor-sharp teeth. The feet have three white talons, and each arm has a single large, white claw for a hand. Curved fins sprout from the arms, creating wings. It also has a large dorsal fin and another on its tail that resembles a shark tailfin with a notch in it. Pairs of small, white spikes protrude from its upper arms and legs, and there are gill-like slits on the sides of the neck. The eyes are intense, with black sclerae and gold-colored irises.
Misty stiffened in place, "W-Wh-Wha…" Her brain wouldn't work right and she found herself unable to form words.
"What the heck kind of pokémon is that?!" Ritchie exclaimed, almost choking in his food.
Ash was a little surprised himself, but answered, "It's a Garchomp." The last time he saw a Garchomp was back when he was a kid and one was sent to Professor Oak's lab. He couldn't remember why it was sent there, but it was sweet and well-behaved.
Ritchie and Serena scanned it:
[Garchomp, the Mach Pokémon. When it folds up its body and spreads its wings, it can fly like a jet plane at the speed of sound.]
"Talk about a terrifying appearance." Tracey couldn't help but sketch Garchomp. It was considered a rare pokémon in this region.
"It's so big!" Molly stared.
"Wow…" Tomo said.
"It certainly has a very…friendly face." Serena was smiling but it was a nervous one.
Garchomp leaned down, its face close to Ash's. Everyone worried it was going to attack but it did what they didn't expect…and that was to sniff him before letting out a pleased growl before nuzzling the side of his face.
Ash wasn't expecting it either but took it all in good stride, "Well, at least we know you're a friendly one." He lets it nuzzle him as much as it wants.
A soft hearted laugh got their attention, "C'mon now, Garchomp there's no need to bother them." Approaching them with an amused smile is a tall and slender young lady with gray eyes and wavy knee‐length creamy‐blonde hair that covers her left eye with bangs. She was wearing a black black straight‐leg trousers, a long black coat with a V‐neck and black fur rimming its cuffs and hem, and a teardrop‐shaped pearl on the center of the coat. Under the coat, she dons a black top. The outfit is finished with black kitten‐heel pumps possessing each a yellow stripe. The accessory she wore is a black fur ruff around her neck with two pairs of hair clips on each side of her hair, both teardrop shaped and possessing each a yellow stripe.
"Wow, she's pretty." Serena said.
"Yeah…ahh!" Misty gasped suddenly, making Serena jump.
"What's wrong?!" Serena asked.
Misty's expression became dry, "I just realized she's exactly Brock's type." She was saying the same Ash said when they met Lorelei.
Serena sweatdropped, but didn't deny Misty was right.
The young lady spoke to Ash, "I'm so sorry about my Garchomp. She usually never acts like this." She was actually surprised Garchomp would go up to someone and start being affectionate. This boy must be something special.
Ash rubbed the top of Garchomp's head, "It's fine. Your Garchomp's really impressive. Bigger than the one I saw as a kid at Professor Oak's lab." He complimented.
"Thanks." She sat down next to him, "So you've really seen another Garchomp before?"
Ash gives Garchomp one more head pat before answering her, "Yeah. It was sent to Professor Oak's lab for research by another professor. The one from back then would play outside with me all the time." He wonders how that Garchomp is doing.
"Sounds like it really liked you." She smiled.
He nodded, "I hope I'm not being rude by asking this, but you aren't native here are you?"
She shook her head, "No, my name's Cynthia Shirona and I'm from Celestic Town in Sinnoh."
"Wow, you came really far away. I'm Ash Ketchum." Ash introduced himself, "This is my sister Molly and brother Tomo."
Molly and Tomo waved at her, making her smile, "That's so sweet of you to travel with your younger siblings."
"Not all of them. I have another sister but she's at home with our mother. She can't travel due to her condition." Ash decided to leave out the important parts of Amber's creation.
"I see. And the others are?" Cynthia was curious about the others.
"Nice to meet you, Cynthia. My name is Misty, and this little cutie here is Togepi." Misty introduced herself and Togepi.
"Togephree (Hi, pretty lady)!" Togepi smiled.
Cynthia instantly fell in love with Togepi, "Aren't you just the cutest little pokémon?" She tickled Togepi, making the little egg pokémon giggle.
"My name is Tracey, and I'm a Pokémon Watcher." Tracey introduced.
"A Pokémon Watcher? That sounds interesting, I'd like to hear more about it later." Cynthia said.
"I'd be happy to tell you." Tracey smiled.
"I'm Serena, and this Fennekin!" Serena said.
"Fenne (Hello)!" Fennekin greeted.
"Nice to meet you both." Cynthia nodded.
"And I'm Ritchie, Ash's cousin.." Ritchie went last, "And this is my partner Sparky."
"Pika (Hey)!" Sparky greeted.
"It's a pleasure to meet all of you." Cynthia smiled.
Everyone became more comfortable after introductions were made. Cynthia fit right into their little group with her kind and knowledgeable aura. Her purpose in coming all the way out here was to study the local legend of Shamouti Island. Ash and Tracey were interested in hearing more about Cynthia's knowledge about stone tablets of Legendary Pokémon and artifacts related to Sinnoh mythology. Molly and Tomo were playing with a patient Garchomp. The dragon/ground type pokémon let the two kids touch her tail and climb on her.
Misty, Serena, and Ritchie were listening to Cynthia explain more about what she learned when she first saw the stone tablets of Dialga and Palkia. She explained the first time she saw it something inside her changed, which was a good change.
"I used to be so reckless back then because the only thing that mattered to me at the time was getting stronger. My pokémon would get hurt because of it. That's why to this day I'll always be grateful to the Legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia." Cynthia remembers back on that time very fondly. Had she not fling her clarity from those tablets then she wouldn't be the person she is today.
"That's an amazing story, Cynthia." Ash can hear the fondness in her voice.
"Thanks." Cynthia said.
Tracey was very entranced with her story, "I'd love to hear more about Dialga and Palkia if you ever have the time."
"Same here. I wanna hear more about them, too." Ritchie was really eager to hear more.
"Me too if you wouldn't mind." Serena was also curious to know more about the two Legendary Pokémon.
"Of course. I'd love to tell you all more." Cynthia promised.
Suddenly they all heard a very familiar song playing. The one playing the melody was Melody, who was wearing traditional clothing while she was on stage. But her outfit isn't what caught Misty, Ritchie, Molly, and Tomo's attention.
"Ash…that song…" Misty trailed off.
Ash felt his heart beating loudly in his chest, "The Sea Pokémon's Lullaby…" he whispered. Why is it that a melody Master Silver taught him how to play as a child being heard here? Is this where he learned it and taught it to him years later?
Cynthia was curious about what he said.
The natives enjoyed the performance as Melody danced along with the time of the song. Serena and Molly weren't impressed by her performance, but they had to admit her performance was pretty decent.
Everyone clapped when it was over as Melody rushed off stage towards Ash and the others.
"Here ye all! From the trio of islands, ancient spears shall you take. For between life and death, all the difference you'll make." Melody twirled around then kneeling before Ash, "O, Chosen One. You must climb to the shrine to right what is wrong, and the world will be healed by the Guardian's Song." She gently grabbed his arm.
Serena gasped as she saw her holding his arm. Molly was about to sick Teddiursa on her had Tomo and Tracey not stopped her.
"Just what the heck is Ash supposed to do?" Ritchie didn't understand a single thing she just said.
"I just told you." Melody replied, playfully.
"We heard it, but what does he have to do?" Ritchie repeated.
"Oh, something tells me it won't be very hard for Ash to do. And besides, almost all the Chosen Ones come back alive." She joked.
"Is that supposed to be reassuring?" Serena frowned at her.
"Melody!" Her sister chided her.
Melody playfully waved at her, "All you have to do is get these glass balls from three islands. One from Fire Island, one from Ice Island, and one from Lightning Island. And you bring them to the Shrine back here, and then…" she stood up and twirled around, "…I celebrate by playing this song." She played a little bit, "Then it's over. O, Chosen One."
"Does he get to wear a cool costume?" Ritchie asked.
"That's what you want to ask?" Misty gave him a dry expression.
"Sorry, but it's just come as you are." Melody took a bite out of a pear and winked, "Besides, you look perfect to me. The most handsome Chosen One we've had in years."
Molly's eyes held poison and she glared at Melody, "Floozy." She spat, insulting Melody to her face again.
Melody choked on her pear and had a coughing fit. Misty and Ritchie snorted, almost laughing. Serena smiled, feeling satisfied. Tracey and Tomo sighed.
Melody drank some water to stop her coughing fit, "Wh-What's your problem with me, squirt?!" She exclaimed.
Molly sneered. Actually sneered! It's one thing for an adult to make that expression, but a child?! This more than proves Molly hates Melody's guts.
Cynthia was at first surprised Molly insulted Melody to her face, but then amused by the whole thing. Her expression changed when she saw Ash was sitting there in a daze.
"Is there something wrong?" She asked him.
Ash blinked then lifted his head, "Yeah, I'm just thinking about the song. I'm wondering if my mentor—Master Silver first heard it from here then passed it down to me."
"He may have. But that's not what's bothering you." Cynthia pointed out.
He didn't deny her words, "I'm just wondering why he taught me the song." He didn't question it when he was little, but with this whole "Chosen One" title, the song, and everything else going on, he was beginning to wonder if his Mentor taught him the song for this very purpose.
'And if that's true, then…' He shook his head. No, he's not going to start doubting his mentor. He'll ask him about everything after they leave the Orange Islands.
"Melody, can you get a boat prepared? I'm going to the three islands." Ash asked, standing.
Melody stopped having her glare off with Molly and replied to him, "Oh, there's no hurry! You have all day tomorrow. Tonight's just for the party, stay and have some fun." She assured him.
If this were any normal day, he'd do just that, but something compelled him to move now.
"No…I need to go." Ash insisted, gaze serious.
Melody felt her heart skip a beat.
"You know what? I like your attitude. We can take my boat, Ash." Maren liked Ash's determined spirit.
"Thank you." Ash smiled, grateful for her help.
Serena protested the idea, "Ash, wait! The water's out there can still be unstable!"
Pikachu suddenly grabbed Ash's hat and ran off. The electric type's sudden actions caught everyone off guard.
"Pikachu!" Ash called out to his friend.
Pikachu stopped and turned around, "Pika (Hurry)!" He urged Ash to follow, voice muffled, running down the stairs.
Ash followed right behind his friend along with Maren. He caught up with his friend quickly and got in the boat with Maren speeding off. Ash may have imagined it, but he thought he saw Team Rocket. But let that thought go, quickly.
Meanwhile, standing alone in a cave was the very same Slowking, "Disturb not the harmony of Fire, Ice, and Lightning." A sharp sound of lightning was heard from the sky, "Hah…what a mess." The location was underneath the shrine.
Ash held on as the storm wasn't letting up at all. He just hopes they make it there in one piece.
"Ash, be careful."
'Mewtwo.' Ash was relieved to hear the psychic type's voice right now.
"The world's balance has now descended into chaos. Someone has disturbed the balance."
Ash's eyes widened. So that's what he was sensing! A disturbance in the natural order of the world itself! But why would someone knowingly disturb the balance? For what purpose?
Back at the village, others began to worry about Ash, Serena being the most worried.
"I'm going after him!" Serena declared, already standing after Fennekin jumped on her shoulder, "Something could have happened to the boat before they could even get close to the island!"
"She's right. This storm is getting worse. Carol, I'm borrowing your boat!" Melody said.
"What? But what can you do?" Carol questioned.
"It's because of our stupid ritual that those two are caught up in the storm in the first place. I'm also the one who picked Ash for it." Melody's mind was already made up.
"Then, it's settled! We're going!" Serena didn't even wait for the others as the two girls ran. Molly and Tomo were right behind them though.
"Hey, wait up, you two!" Tracey ran behind them, along with Misty and Ritchie. Surprisingly, Cynthia also followed behind.
"What are you following behind for?" Melody asked Serena.
"To find Ash! I'm not just going to leave him out there alone!" Serena replied, not even bothering to get into any argument with her and simply focusing on getting to Ash.
"Hey, chill out! You sure are sensitive about someone who isn't even your boyfriend!" Melody teased.
Serena glared at her.
"Serena's better than a "minx" like you!" Molly insulted.
"What's with you and the insults?!" Melody exclaimed.
Molly turned her head up at Melody.
"I don't think now is the right time to argue." Cynthia reminded them of the situation.
"Ugh, I hope we find Ash quick, cause this is starting to get old real fast." Ritchie groaned.
"Pika (Starts)?" Sparky said, dryly.
They found Carol's boat quickly and set off after Ash, the boat was pretty fast, especially in this storm. They just hoped Ash was okay and the boat he was on hasn't sunk underwater.
Hovering in the sky above them was the very same man that captured Moltres. After capturing Moltres, he sought after the other two.
"Disturb not the harmony of Fire, Ice, and Lightning." He let out an amused chuckle, "It seems there's been a shift in the balance of power."
"Pokémon Zapdos—detected."
His smile became a pleasant one.
"Experts now believe that the weather disasters happening in all parts of the globe are due to a powerful and previously unknown phenomenon—from deep beneath the surface of the ocean."
Back at the village, everyone was watching the news reports about what was happening. It wasn't just happening in the Orange Islands, but around the world.
"This is a simulation of the underwater river that had snaked its way around the planet—disrupting ocean currents, weather patterns, and the entire gob climate."
Delia and Samuel were watching the same thing back in Pallet Town. Delia looked worried while Samuel was curious.
"I wonder if this is what's been upsetting all the pokémon." Samuel knew for a fact Ash's Pokémon out back were in a frenzy. Most, if not all, were trying to find their way to him. Not that he could blame them. The window behind them suddenly broke as glass shards fell, startling them.
"—the source of the disturbance appears to be centered at the North Central Region of the Orange Islands."
"The Orange Islands?" Samuel frowned.
"But, that's where Ash and the tiers are right now." Delia was even more worried.
"Mother."
Delia and Samuel were started again when Amber appeared along with Mew.
"Amber, what are you doing here? You should be inside at home." Delia knew her condition was okay for now, but she still wanted her daughter to rest.
Amber shook her head, "Mewtwo told me the balance has been disturbed by someone. If it isn't restored…the world will collapse."
"What?! Wait, you two can communicate telepathically from this far? That's impressive!" Samuel was impressed.
"Not the time, Professor!" Delia chided him.
"Sorry, so Mewtwo says this is all happening because someone disturbed the natural order?" Samuel asked.
"Yes. I can feel it. The Pokémon are all heading in one direction, to the place where the balance can be restored." Amber said.
Mew did a backflip, "Mew (The Orange Islands)."
Samuel was about to ask Amber to translate but he suddenly got an incoming video call. It was Professor Ivy.
"Professor, we're having problems." Professor Ivy informed, with Brock running around in the background.
"What is it, Professor Ivy?" He asked.
"The Pokémon here are behaving very strangely." She reported.
"Yes, I know. The same thing is happening here, too." Professor Oak said.
"You don't understand. All of the Pokémon here are acting violent every time we try to stop them. They seem to be trying to get to a specific island here in the Orange Islands." She informed him.
"A specific island?" Samuel questioned.
"Shamouti." Amber said, expression serious, "Their destination…is Shamouti Island."
Ash noticed the weather was starting to clear again, "The storm's finally gone."
"But the sea's still rough!" Maren pointed out.
She was right. The Balt was rocking hard against the current of the sea. What made it worse is the rocks in their path. As Maren was trying to navigate to the island safely, she also had to avoid the rocks at the same time. Ash held on as the waves guided them to one of the three islands, even though they almost had a not so safe landing.
Ash looked up and saw the stairs leading towards something in the distance. He got off the boat.
"Well at least we made it here alive, but…" Maren started to say.
"Pika (This way)!" Pikachu said to Ash as he jumped off the boat and ran.
"Pikachu, wait!" Ash ran after him.
"Ash, we shouldn't split up, the storm might kick up again!" Maren warned him, but Ash was more focused on following Pikachu.
Ash stopped and spoke, "I'm sorry! But I have to know what's really happening!" He ran after his best friend again.
Melody was steering the boat as best she could to get to the island, "Okay, hang on guys!" She actually rode the waves on the boat.
"Cool move!" Misty complimented.
"I've been around boats all my life! You don't have to worry!" Melody assured them.
"Oh, don't worry about me! I never get scared when I'm out in the ocean. I come from a water Pokémon gym." Misty assured her, smiling.
Melody smiled back. She kept riding the waves as by some miracle they managed to make it to the island, safely.
Maren heard the nice and came out of her boat to see what was going on and saw the others had arrived.
"Hey, are you guys okay?" Tracey asked, looking like he wanted to puke.
"Ugh…I hate boats…" Ritchie groaned.
"Yeah, we're fine! But the boat's in pretty bad shape!" Maren replied.
Serena didn't see Ash with her and asked, "Where's Ash?"
"Up there!" Maren pointed to the top.
Melody made the boat fly by letting the wind carry it up the stairs to where Ash is.
"Good thing this boat can fly." Tracey smiled.
"It does save us a lot of time." Cynthia added.
"As long as we find Ash, it's fine!" Serena said.
"Yeah, and if he needs help, his girlfriend's here!" Melody said.
"Listen, you—" Serena started to say.
"Well you are a "girl" and you are his "friend," right?" Melody smirked.
Serena gave her a nervous smile then became serious as they almost reached the top.
In the flying tower the man gazed upon a furious Moltres, the Pokémon was still being zapped painfully by the ring prison it was trapped in.
"My, Moltres, you seem so miserable." He looked over at the chess board, "But as they say…misery loves company." A hologram of Zapdos appeared.
"Zapdos approaching Fire Island."
The man smiled, pleased.
Pikachu looked behind him to make sure Ash was following him. Ash was. He wanted to know his role in all of this. Mewtwo already confirmed someone disturbed the balance and threw the world into chaos. The closer he got to the top, the more he felt something stir inside him. That same warm feeling guiding him.
Ash saw a pedestal as he ascended the stairs. Pikachu was sitting there waiting for him on the mini steps to the pedestal. Pikachu motioned him to come closer, as he did Ash noticed a red orb. Pikachu was urging him to grab it.
"Is that…" Ash reached out and grabbed it. With a powerful yank, he freed it and held the orb in his hand, "It feels warm…" suddenly the orb started to glow, there was a literal flame inside.
"This is…" Ash couldn't help but stare at the Fire Orb.
BADUMP!
Ash doesn't understand what happened next. All of a sudden he felt painful electrical shocks throughout his entire being. His body seized as he choked on a scream that threatened to claw its way from his throat.
"Pikapi (Ash)!" Pikachu cried, worried.
Ash hunched over, hugging himself to make the pain go away. And what made it feel a thousand times worse was the searing anger he felt. He was trapped inside this cage, toppled with the humiliating anger threatened to burn his soul!
Calm down! Calm down!
Have to calm down—!
A sudden calmness was felt for a moment, then flared and spread all over his body. Overtaking the searing hot flame of anger was a familiar warmth that soothed and comforted him. It belonged to him. Closing his eyes, he took slow, steady breaths. He reached out to the angered flame and calmed it, assuring the raging flame and soothing it.
Ash slowly opened his eyes to see Pikachu's worried one's. Just now that was…he was feeling what Moltres was feeling! He was sure of it! Mewtwo was right! Someone has disturbed the balance, and capturing Moltres was just the start of it!
"Pikachu…just now…I somehow felt what Moltres was feeling." Ash said, slowly standing, "No, it was more like we…connected."
"Pikapi (Ash)?" Pikachu was still worried, but listened to what his trainer was saying.
Ash shook his head, "It's nothing. We should hurry."
"Pika (Right)!" Pikachu was already running down the stairs, Ash right behind him.
"Guess who, Pikachu?"
Pikachu stopped and looked up to see Team Rocket. Seriously? The world's been thrown out of balance and these guys decide now is a good time to try and take Pikachu? These three are incredible, and he doesn't mean it in a good way.
Ash doesn't even let them finish their motto, "I'll have to catch this on video." He dismissed them, making them lose face, "I don't have time to deal with you right now! The weather's not getting any better, either!"
Jessie did take notice, "It has been bad. Isn't that always our luck?"
James and Meowth wisely said nothing.
"But our luck's changed and our ship has finally come in!" Jessie said, as Melody's boat appeared from behind. Ash and Pikachu quickly got out of the way as it came crashing down the stairs before stopping in front of them.
"There you are! See, this is why I told you to wait till tomorrow! Honestly, why would you—!" A blur flew past Melody as Serena quickly got off the boat and hugged him.
"Thank goodness! I was so worried but I'm glad you're safe!" Serena was relieved to see he was unharmed.
Ash wasn't expecting a hug, but blushed a little and wrapped his arms around her, "Don't worry, I'm safe."
Melody blinked, "Huh, wasn't expecting that."
"I was." Misty grinned, "Serena, you might want to save all that after you two get into a relationship~" she teased.
Serena's whole face turned red as she quickly let go, "Wh—Wh—What do you mean by that, Misty?!" She stuttered. Ash grabbed the tip of his hat and looked away, feeling a little embarrassed.
"Listen, kid. When you get involved with the opposite sex, you're only asking for trouble." Jessie advised.
"Yes, and that's the kind of trouble I stay out of." James agreed with her.
Meowth grinned, "You two don't need opposite cause ya got each other." He smirked.
"What does that mean?!" Jessie exclaimed.
"Funny!" James looked unimpressed.
Meowth snickered.
Ash was ignoring the three but tensed when he sensed something was coming. And he was right as what appeared was a large, avian pokémon with predominantly yellow plumage. It has small, triangular eyes with black around them and a long, thin, light orange beak. Its wings and tail are a mass of spiky feathers and there are black feathers covering the back of its wings and inner tail feathers. A large crest of spiked feathers surrounds its head. Its thighs are tan, and it has thin, light orange legs. It has feet with three forward-facing toes and one backward-facing toe; each toe has a short talon.
Ash couldn't believe his eyes as the electric bird pokémon appeared before them, "Pikachu, it's Zapdos."
"Pika (It is.)." Pikachu couldn't believe Zapdos was here, either.
Zapdos flew above them, tossing out electrical shocks. The stones that were hit by electric strikes turned blue. It flew around them before veering back but stopped when Pikachu jumped on the top of Melody's boat. He sent an electrical shock at Zapdos but it was a small one meant for communication. Zapdos did indeed stop flying around them to address Pikachu.
Zapdos sent an electric bolt right back at Pikachu. Ash was about to go over to his friend but held still when Zapdos descended upon the pedestal. The whole island was bathed in a blue glow, Ash could feel the life around him so clearly. Pikachu was trying to communicate with Zapdos again by sending thundershock. He kept doing this to get Zapdos's attention.
"Pikachu's pretty tough but Zapdos isn't even feeling its attacks." Jessie said.
"Those aren't attacks, Jessie. Pikachu's trying to talk to Zapdos." Meowth corrected, "He's saying, "What are you doing over here on Fire Island, Zapdos. And where's Moltres?"
"Good questions." Jessie said.
Pikachu finally got Zapdos's attention. Zapdos sent a thunder shock at Pikachu to communicate back. Ash watched this, calmly as the two spoke in their way.
"Translation." Jessie and James looked to Meowth.
"What's it saying?" James asked.
"Zapdos is saying Moltres used to rule here. But now that Moltres is gone, Lightning shall rule over Fire. And I claim this island as my own from this day forward." Meowth translated, "Huh, I guess Moltres flew the coop."
Zapdos was releasing its electricity all over the island. Everyone showed various expressions, but Ash. Zapdos noticed its electricity was being absorbed into the sky. Coming into full view was the very same aircraft. Everyone looked up and saw it slowly coming down towards them. Ash's calm eyes focused on it with intensity.
"Absorbing Zapdos's electrical energy."
The man smiled, "Drained of its power. Zapdos will be too weak to resist capture." He chuckled.
Zapdos felt its electrical energy being drained and glared up at the source. The bottom half of the aircraft opened, and just like with Moltres electric rings captured not just Zapdos, but also Ash and the rest. All of them were brought onboard to the aircraft.
The man saw Zapdos was successfully captured and now the only one left was Articuno, "Once I've captured Articuno…the real prize will appear." He grinned with anticipation.
"Code Blue three. When capturing Zapdos, we've collected something…more."
"More?" The man was confused. What else did he capture along with Zapdos.
Within the cage they were placed into they saw an unconscious Moltres and a screaming Zapdos.
"Zapdos and Moltres." Tracey couldn't believe they were here.
Cynthia frowned, "It would seem the person in charge of this aircraft captured Moltres first, and now Zapdos."
"But why?" Serena wanted to know why someone would intentionally capture two Legendary Pokémon.
Melody noticed a stone tablet on the table in front of them and leaned forward to get a good look, "Hey, what's this? Disturb not the harmony of—
—Fire, Ice, or Lightning." Ash cut her off, surprising all of them as he not only understood the language that was in the tablet, but read it word for word, "Lest these Titans wreak destruction upon the world in which they clash." He finished.
There was a brief silence until Ritchie broke it, "Wow…how do you know that's what it says?"
"Yeah, you read it word for word. Do you understand the language?" Tracey asked him.
"Who knew the twerp could interpret ancient language." Meowth was impressed.
Ash didn't respond to any of their questions, remaining silent the whole time. Pikachu sensed there was something different, "Pikapi (Ash)?" He called out to his trainer.
Above them something moved. Part of the ceiling descended as a man sitting in a chair smiled at them.
"Well, this certainly is a pleasure. Though an unexpected one." He stood up, "A pleasure to meet all of you. I am Lawrence III. What do you think? Moltres, the bird of fire and Zapdos, the bird of lightning. Of course without Articuno it's not a complete set, but—"
"—that's disgusting! The way you talk it's like Pokémon are just things to collect like dolls or stamps! What kind of trainer are you?!" Misty spoke, disgusted by the man.
He seemed amused by her outburst and answered, "I'm afraid I'm not a trainer, young lady. I'm merely…a collector."
Ash narrowed his eyes.
"I began my collection with a new card, and now I have all this." He spread his arms out, "Legendary Pokémon have always been my passion." They were all free from the cage, landing painfully on the ground, but Ash—who landed on his feet, "And soon my collection itself will be legendary."
"How about getting a different hobby, moron!" Ritchie glared.
"Pika (Yeah)!" Sparky's cheeks sparked.
"Senses indicate Articuno is changing course."
"And now you'll have to excuse me." Lawrence sat down in his chair about to go capture Articuno while a voice stopped him.
"Enough."
Lawrence was caught off guard, not expecting Ash's voice to sound so powerful. And he wasn't the only one that was shocked. Everyone, including Team Rocket, couldn't believe it, either.
"You have disturbed the balance in pursuit of your ambition." Ash's voice, combined with his calm demeanor both shocked and worried his friends and family, while terrifying Team Rocket, "Acknowledge your sin and face punishment."
"Ash?" Serena was starting to worry about his abnormal behavior.
Jessie leaned down and whispered, "Meowth, what's wrong with the twerp?!"
"How the heck should I know?!" Meowth whispered back.
The others couldn't see it, but Lawrence saw Ash's brown eyes change to pure blue. Next thing the man knew—he was sent flying off his chair and slammed into the wall. Everyone winced as Lawrence slid down and showed visible signs of pain.
Ritchie's mouth was wide open as was Sparky's. Team Rocket did the same.
Tracey blinked rapidly, "Wh—Wh—What just happened?! Ash, did you do that?!" He asked.
"That was…" Misty trailed off because she couldn't find any more words to say.
Serena didn't know what to say, either.
"Big brother sent the bad man flying…" Molly said.
"That was so cool!" Tomo was awestruck by what Ash just did.
Cynthia was impressed, "Just now, did Ash…" her brain was thinking and came to a conclusion all on her own.
Lawrence opened his eyes, weakly. The boy standing before him turned out to be far more valuable than he realized. Such value should only be appreciated by a collector like him!
"I see…how foolish of me not to see your value until it actually hit me." Lawrence said, slowly standing back up, "Yes, how silly of me not to notice at first, but that's only a given. Your people never reveal what they can do unless they have to."
Misty didn't like the way the man was looking at Ash or speaking to him, "What are you talking about?!" She demanded.
He smiled, "It's simple. This boy here is a descendant of the Aura Clan. A rare and valuable clan of humans capable of using Aura. They soon disappeared from history, with no one knowing of their history or culture. Some say they became extinct, yet here one stands before me!" The elation in his voice didn't make it sound any better than he was trying to make it out to be.
Ritchie gave the man a venomous glare, "This piece of garbage! He's talking about Ash like he's some kind of rare collectible!"
"Pika (Can I just shock him already)?!" Sparky had just about enough of this guy!
"My apologies. I became so invested in collecting the Legendary Birds that you almost escaped me." Lawrence said, "I cannot afford to let such a special gem such as yourself to remain uncollected." Just as he said that, the same rings descended from the ceiling.
Everyone, aside from Team Rocket, stood in front of Ash to protect him. This guy suddenly switching his targets infuriated them!
"Don't you dare touch him!" Serena growled, menacingly.
"Pika (You—)!" Pikachu was pissed! How dare this man try to add his trainer to his twisted collection!
Cynthia took a step forward, "You've already done enough damage to the balance. Ash won't be added to your collection anytime soon. Garchomp, battle dance!" She threw a pokeball.
Garchomp appeared and was ready to battle.
Jessie and James were starstruck when they saw Garchomp, "Wouldn't that Pokémon make an excellent present to the boss?!" Jessie suggested.
"Yes, and I'm sure it has a lot of firepower!" James smiled.
Garchomp gave them a side glare, as if daring them to try anything. The two wisely looked away and said nothing else.
"Dragon Rush!"
Garchomp flies at the rings and the two appendages on its head glow light blue. Then, its body becomes enveloped in a light blue aura with the same color streaks and it slams into the rings—destroying all of them.
"Whoa! That Garchomp is no joke!" Ritchie exclaimed, impressed.
"It took out those rings with a single attack!" Tracey was astonished by just how powerful Cynthia's pokémon is.
"That's one dragon pokemon you don't want to make angry." Misty commented.
Garchomp wasn't done, however, as it got behind Lawrence and held its claw underneath his chin. A warning for him not to try anything else.
"I suggest you stand still and behave yourself. Otherwise, I won't be held responsible for what my Garchomp does." Cynthia's tone made it clear she was serious and that it wasn't an empty threat.
Lawrence obviously wasn't pleased by the sudden turn of events, but held still.
"Man…she's a badass." Ritchie couldn't help but say.
"Pika (For real…)." Sparky agreed.
Meanwhile, outside the aircraft. Articuno was seen flying through the skies as the weather suddenly became cold and a blizzard was now outside instead of a thunderstorm.
"Here's a map around the area of Shamouti Island—the center of the unprecedented world wide weather disasters. Though their purpose is not yet clear—tens of thousands of Pokémon are now making their way toward the Island. Wait…I've just received news that Pokémon from every region are heading towards the Island! I repeat, Pokémon from every region are heading towards the Island."
"From every region?!" Carol couldn't believe what she was hearing and neither could the other residents on the Island. All pokemon from every region?! Was that even possible?
"Could it be…is the prophecy…" The old man trailed off.
"Water Pokémon are coming by sea, Flying Pokémon are coming by air, and those unable to make the crossing are gathering on the lands nearest to the Islands."
A helicopter flies past the Pokémon in the land and sky, "With me now are Professor Samuel Oak and Professor Ivy to help shed some light on this phenomenon." A news reporter had the two Professors, Delia and Amber inside the helicopter with Mew sitting in Amber's lap. Mew wasn't visible though so that made it easy for them to avoid answering uncomfortable questions.
Samuel spoke when the microphone was placed near him, "Near Shamouti lie the Islands of Fire, Ice, and Lightning. Home to the legendary birds, Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos. I fear they are somehow involved." He started drawing the islands and what's happening, "Ancient writings from many different cultures name this area—specifically the Islands of Fire and Ice as the "Cradle of the Ocean" the source if you will of all the waters of the world. This has been disputed by scientists for centuries, but it does make some poetic sense when you consider what forms when combining fire and ice."
Delia was listening in as Amber was more focused on communicating with Mewtwo. Samuel Oak showed them his drawing.
"And what about the Island of Lightning, Professor?" The news man asked.
"Well, imagine if an imbalance of power occurred between lightning, ice and fire. Here's potentially how the underwater current has formed." He showed them his drawing and it disturbed the news anchorman, "If the balance between the powers of Zapdos, Articuno, and Moltres was somehow disrupted—it's conceivable that the powerful underwater current—this Beast of the Sea could in fact emerge from this region and ultimately flood the entire planet."
Professor Ivy spoke next, "The pokémon seem to be gathering because they seem to sense an impending doom. Pokémon are acutely attuned with the balance of nature. The urge to correct this imbalance is causing them to gather, possibly to try and save the planet. Though they may be unable to do anything about it."
Delia nodded vigorously at their words. Her motherly instincts were telling her Ash was somehow involved, even if Amber didn't confirm it herself. A mother just knows.
"And who are you?" The anchorman turned to her.
She was surprised he turned the microphone on her but answered, "My son and his friends are traveling to the Orange Islands. And if things get as bad as Professor Oak says…I may never see my boy again." The very thought almost made her eyes water up, "And Ash is the whole world to me."
Amber grabbed her jacket, getting her attention. The girl was smiling, "Don't worry. Brother is the one to quell the chaos in the end."
Delia and Samuel were surprised to hear her say that as the anchorman looked just as confused.
Slowing sighed as the weather changed again and now notes snowing. Good grief, some fool would disturb the balance but thankfully the Chosen One was here to put an end to this whole mess.
But more importantly…
"I could use pants." He said to no one in particular.
The blizzard was getting bad as everything was being covered in snow and ice. It really was starting to feel like the end did the world. The snow storm briefly as Articuno flew through the skies and fired Ice Beam.
Melody was looking at the templet Lawrence had on the aircraft, "Disturb not the harmony of Fire, Ice, or Lightning. Let these Titans wreak destruction upping the world in which they clash." She had a horrifying thought, "What if the ancient legend is coming true?"
"If it is true, all intelligent life will be destroyed." James said.
"That's right." Jessie agreed.
"And I'll be—" James trailed off.
"—you will be fine!" Meowth assured.
Misty glared at Lawrence, "You better free them right now! The whole world is at stake!"
He smiled, "Don't be so hasty to free them. I went through all the trouble to catch them after all."
"You seriously make me sick!" Ritchie glared at him.
"Maybe we should have Cynthia's Garchomp make you cooperate!" Serena was the first to suggest.
Cynthia smiled, "Not a bad idea." She was all for it.
Ash made his way over to Moltres. He stood before the Legendary Pokémon with his calm gaze. Moltres opened its eyes and stared right into Ash's calm, blue eyes. No words were said as the fire type felt at ease just by being in the boy's presence. Slowly, Ash lifted his hand up.
"What's the twerp doing now?" Jessie asked Meowth.
"Don't know. Maybe he's tryna communicate with Moltres." Meowth wouldn't be all that surprised, honestly.
But that's not what he was doing. A blue sphere appeared in his hand before shooting at the cage that held Moltres—shattering the cage, and freeing it. Doing so also caused an explosion as a hole appeared on the side of the aircraft.
"No way! Ash freed Moltres!" Tracey said, astonished.
"He did it!" Ritchie smiled.
Cynthia was happy, "Nicely done."
Moltres expressed its gratitude to Ash by bowing its head before using Flamethrower to free Zapdos. Like what happened to Moltres, the cage broke apart and Zapdos was freed. Moltre then proceeded to fly out of the aircraft through the hole. Zapdos followed suit by creating its own hole and flying out.
Lawrence couldn't believe it, "What have you done?" He said to Ash, who paid him no mind,
"The balance…must be…restored…" Ash's voice trailed off as his eyes closed and he fell forward but Mewtwo's pokeball opened and grabbed him before he fell to the ground. The psychic type held his trainer in his arms.
"Ash!" Everyone gathered around them, Cynthia returned Garchomp and went to check on Ash, too. Lawrence stood there astounded that the boy had that much power. He could be far stronger than anyone realizes.
Cynthia quickly checked his vitals, relaxing when everything was normal, including his breathing, "He's okay, just unconscious." She reported.
Serena breathed a sigh of relief, "Thank goodness…"
"He's really okay?" Molly asked.
"And just asleep?" Tomo was concerned too and asked.
Cynthia smiled, rubbing their heads, "He'll be fine. He's just taking a little nap."
But their relief for their friend's safety didn't last as Moltres and Zapdos were attacking the aircraft from outside. The two birds were not pleased by their capture and made their displeasure known by trying to destroy the aircraft.
"Mayday! Mayday! Prepare for crash landing on Lightning Island!"
Mewtwo frowned at the computer's words, "All of you gather around me!" No one argued with him as he used Teleport to get them out there before the aircraft crash landed on Lightning Island.
"Whew! Thanks for that, Mewtwo." Misty thanked the psychic Legendary.
Mewtwo nodded before looking down at a still unconscious Ash, "Ash's role in all of this has only just begun."
"Just begin, what does that…wait! You Ash is really the—!" Ritchie didn't finish as Mewtwo nodded.
A groan got their attention as Ash slowly woke up, "What…?" He mumbled, confused.
"Pikapi (Ash)!" Pikachu was happy his trainer was awake.
Ash was looking around confused, especially when he saw Mewtwo out of his pokeball, "Mewtwo…what happened?"
"I'm afraid there's no time to explain. The situation has become even more dire." Mewtwo replied, setting Ash down. Ash held Mewtwo's shoulder so he could remain upright.
"Moltres and Zapdos?" Ash asked.
"You freed them from their imprisonment, but now they're fighting eachother along with Articuno." Melody explained.
Ash gave her a confused look, "I did what?" Did he hear her right?
Cynthia proceeded to tell him everything that happened while they were in Lawrence's aircraft. Ash couldn't believe he actually did all that.
"I…don't remember any of that." Ash confessed.
"We figured. When this is all over we can talk more about it." Serena assured him then noticed something on the ground, "Ash, by your foot."
Ash looked down and saw a yellow orb. It was glowing, he bent down and licked it up, "This is…the Lightning Orb."
"Look out!" Misty saw Thunderbolt coming right at them and they all got out of the way. Above them, Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno were fighting.
"I'd hate to get burned by their fire." Jessie said.
"I'd hate to get zapped by their Lightning." James said.
"I'd hate to get hit by…their droppings." Meowth said, covering his eyes.
All of them got on the boat and managed to sail away through all the chaos but their boat almost crashed into the ice covered water. But they were saved just in time by a whirlpool that came out of nowhere. It guided them to a safer place and away from the fighting. Ash and Melody heard a familiar melody, "That sound…!" Melody said. The whirlpool brought them all closer to the shrine. It tossed them near the edge, Ash and the others jumped off as it fell and crashed into the ice below.
"Made it…" Ritchie sighed then almost jumped when he saw a Slowking standing there, staring at them, "Gah, what the—!"
Slowking pointed at Ash, "Take the treasure and put it there." He pointed at the center of the shrine.
"You can talk?!" Ritchie exclaimed.
"At this point, nothing surprises me anymore." Misty said, dryly.
Ash shared the same sentiments.
"Pika Pika (The treasure)!" Pikachu got Ash's attention. He took both orbs out of his pocket.
"I didn't forget." Ash assured Pikachu.
Pikachu led him to the center of the shrine. Ash climbed the stairs and saw where he was supposed to place them, "Fire Island." He placed the Fire Orb where Fire Island was visible, "Lightning Island." Then placed the Lightning Orb where Lightning Island was. Both orbs glowed in place, but there was still one missing…
…it was the Ice Orb.
"So, you are Ash Ketchum." Ash flinched back as Slowking came out of where and talked to him, "Your one treasure short."
Ash couldn't help but ask, "Yes I know, but…how do you know my name?" His question wasn't answered because he heard the screeching of the three Legendary Birds still fighting. The three of them were getting far too close to his looking. He got in front of siblings to shield them in case they got hit, only for a whirlpool to shoot up into the air and knock the three far away from them.
They could see something was within the whirlpool and couldn't believe their eyes when another flying Pokémon came out.
It is a large pokémon that resembles a dragon, a plesiosaur, and a bird. It is primarily silver-white, but it has blue undersides with slightly varying tones. It has a ridged mouth similar to a beak, although it has pointed teeth on its lower jaw. Its head has a point to the back, and its eyes have pointed blue or black spikes on them. It has a long, slender neck and a smooth, streamlined body. Dark blue or black plate-like protrusions run down the length of its back, and there are two smaller, more pointed ones on the end of its tail. It is covered in many scales and has large wings that resemble hands.
"The Great Guardian—Lugia." Slowking announced.
Ash stared in awe, "Lugia…" He breathed.
"I can't believe it." Melody felt like she was dreaming.
"Pika (He's here…)." Pikachu said.
"Pikachu (It's really Lugia)." Sparky stared at the guardian of the sea.
"The legend is real. The Beast of the Sea exists." Cynthia was so amazed she almost forgot how to breathe.
Lugia calmly hovered in the air and assessed the situation. Then opened its mouth to hum a familiar song that resonated with Ash.
"That sound!" Melody brought out her ocarina and stared at it.
Ash did the same thing but he had a new thought, 'Master Silver didn't learn the song from Melody's people…he learned it from Lugia!' And then taught him the song! And this is why!
Unfortunately, Lugia's timely arrival was watched by Lawrence, who survived the crash, "Finally, my prize. It's magnificent, the Beast of the Sea will soon belong…to me. Oh, and I can't forget about the boy. Two treasures in one."
Zapdos was the first to attack Lugia, but the psychic/flying type easily evaded its thunder attacks. Articuno and Moltres soon joined Zappos in attacking Lugia as it evaded their barrage of attacks. Lugia dived down, the blue scales on its back folding in as its speed picked up. It dived right into the ice covered water before creating another whirlpool and shooting back up into the sky.
Articuno froze the whirlpool but Lugia easily burst out of it. It's body glowing in a blue light. The three birds attacked Lugia together, it still held its own against theme
"Though the Guardian of the Sea shall arise to quell the fighting, alone its song will fail. Thus, the Earth shall turn to Ash." Melody recited part of the prophecy.
Slowking sighed, "This looks bad." He stated the obvious.
Ash watched on as Lugia was doing its best to hold its own against the three, but eventually by combining all three of their attacks together they managed to hurt Lugia. All of them watched in horror as Lugia fell and crashed into the water.
"Hey, look!" Ritchie pointed out at sea and saw a whole horde of Pokémon appearing. All types appeared on the Island and stood there staring at them as all of them gathered together.
Slowking already knows what must be done, "There's only one hope. Only the Chosen One can bring together the treasures to help the waters Great Guardian."
"But the legend says its song will fail!" Melody reminded.
Slowking turned to Ash, "And thus, the Earth shall turn to Ash."
"But how are we ever gonna find the Chosen One if we don't even know where to look!" Melody protested.
Misty got it, "It's right in the legend!" She looked at Ash, "The Earth shall turn to Ash!"
"Ash, it's talking about you!" Tracey also realized.
Ash was confused and looked at them, "Me? The legend's talking…about me?" He looked at Pikachu and Mewtwo. Both of his pokémon firmly nodded their heads.
This horrified him as he slowly backed away, "Wait a minute—! That's not possible! How can I be a part of a legend that I've never heard of!"
"Your ancestor himself predicted this." Slowking revealed.
"Say what now?" Ritchie questioned.
"Big brother's ancestor?" Molly was curious.
"But how did he know?" Tomo asked.
"Because he was the Primordial of the Aura Clan. He had many abilities, one was to see into the distant future. Your ancestor knew that you—his descendant—would be the one to protect the balance between humans and Pokémon and bring them together." Slowking revealed more hidden truths.
Ash felt a headache coming on, "This is insane…none of this feels real!" He felt so many emotions crash into him all at once hearing all of this. Just what sort of person was his ancestor to predict something like this?!
"I know this doesn't sound easy, Ash." Misty could see her friend was feeling scared and tired her best to soothe him.
"But you're the only one who matches the legend perfectly. What do you say?" Tracey asked.
Ash rubbed his temples, "Right now I wish my mom had named me something else." Was his reply.
Melody felt bad, "Ash this whole thing is my fault. I…I never should have dragged you into this." She really did feel bad.
He saw the look on her face and sighed, "No, Melody. This isn't your fault, don't blame yourself for something that can't be helped." Ash then had an idea, if the song is just like the legend, then…
He brought out his ocarina and played the melody. Hopefully hearing it will help Lugia in some way. And he was proven right when Lugia came right back out of the water and faced them.
"The song…the song has restored my strength. But it alone cannot bring harmony to the three warring ones." Lugia spoke to them.
"What do you mean?" Ritchie asked.
"When the treasures of Fire, Ice, and Lightning are aligned. My song shall harmonize with their powers and tame the beasts both above and below the sea. But this can only come to pass if only with the help of the Chosen One—Ash Ketchum, I have waited for your arrival."
Ash couldn't explain why he felt at ease all of a sudden. Maybe it was because of Lugia, "But, what can I do that no one else can?" Something about Slowking's words made it seem like it had faith in his ancestors' words about him.
"Only in the hands of the true Chosen One will the Ice Sphere glow like the others. It's power awakened."
Ash realized that meant he had to go near the fighting to get to Ice Island, "I have to…go there?" Would he even make it?
"The choice is yours. You must go only where your heart leads."
Lugia's words and tranquil voice felt soothing to his soul, if that was even possible. Ash knows that if something isn't done then the balance will remain chaotic, and the world will end.
But the choice was his to make.
He felt a tug in his pants leg and looked down to see Pikachu smiling at him, "Pikachu (You can do it. I'm right here by your side)." He said.
"Pikachu…" Ash felt touched by his friend's faith in him. He felt Mewtwo place a hand on his shoulder and nod. Even Mewtwo! All of his pokeballs opened and out came his Pokémon. All of them felt the same. They had faith he could do it.
"Even all of you?" Ash asked.
"(That's right)!" Charizard said.
"Snorlax (I'll act as your shield)!" Snorlax volunteered.
"Blastoise (You already know I got your back)!" Blastoise smirked.
"(I can get you there to the Island safely)!" Gyarados promised.
"Pheromosa (I can hold them off, so don't worry)." Pheromosa vowed.
Ash smiled at all of them, whatever lingering fear he had vanished, "Okay…I guess I'll be counting on all of your help."
"Pika (You bet)!" Pikachu smiled.
Ash turned to Mewtwo, "Keep everyone safe, okay?"
"I will." Mewtwo promised.
Team Rocket watched as he left to head to the other Island and wished the twerp luck.
Ash walked through the snow as best he could. Lucky for him, Pikachu spotted Melody's boat but it was badly damaged. They won't be able to use that. Instead, he and Pikachu flew in Charizard's back. The three Legendary Birds haven't spotted them yet, hopefully it'll stay that way.
Serena was worried but had faith Ash could do it, "You can do it…"
Ritchie noticed something in the air, "Hey, is that…a helicopter up there?" All of them looked up and sure enough, it really was a helicopter! It hovered in the air for a while before crashing into the snow above them.
Professor Oak was the first to come out, then helped Professor Ivy, Delia, and Molly out of the helicopter. The news crew followed suit.
Amber ran down the stairs and met up with the others, "Everyone!"
"Amber, what are you doing here?!" Ritchie was worried about her health and believed she shouldn't have come here.
Amber ran towards them, "Mewtwo, is Ash…"
"He's gone to Ice Island." Mewtwo already knew what she was going to ask.
"I see." Amber said, Mew made herself visible, much to the shock of everyone.
"Mew, what are you doing here?!" Ritchie hissed.
"Mew (I was worried)!" Mew replied.
"Mew was worried and insisted on coming along." Amber translated.
"A Mew?" Cynthia was blinked as Mew tilted its head curiously at her.
Ritchie and Misty groaned, 'Explaining this is going to be annoying!' They both thought.
Ash flew in Charizard's back for the longest before Moltres and Zapdos spotted them. Both threw a Flamethrower and Thunderbolt at them. Charizard and Pikachu sent one back at them. There was no way they'd let these birds hurt Ash. The smoke obscured their vision but finally cleared up, then they were attacked by Articuno!
Articuno fired an Ice Beam attack, but Lugia got in between and used Safeguard to protect them. Lugia kept using Safeguard to keep them away by blocking their attacks and knocking them away from Ash. Thanks to Charizard's amazing flying they were able to make it to the Island. Charizard refused to go back inside its pokeball until they arrived at where the Ice Sphere was being held.
They found it finally after going deeper inside. Ash wasted no time getting off Charizard's back and running up to it. Ash grabbed it and yanked the Ice Sphere out as it glowed in his hand.
"Pika (Okay, let's go)!" Pikachu yelled.
"Right behind you!" Ash got right back on Charizard's back as the fighting got too close. Charizard took to the air quickly. Lugia came up next to them as he saw them leave Ice Island.
"The treasure."
Ash took it out of his pocket, "Here!" He showed Lugia, who nodded,
"Get on." Lugia said. Before Ash could protest, Charizard brought him closer so he could get on Lugia's back. Ash was confused but got on before looking at Charizard.
"(Don't worry about me! I'll hold them off)!" Charizard volunteered before flying into the fray.
Ash was worried but had faith in Charizard. Another one of his pokeballs opened and out popped Blastoise. The fully evolved water type was standing on the ice covered waters, "Blastoise, Blastoise (Don't worry, I've got his back)!" As if he'd let Charizard hold these guys off on his own.
"Blastoise…" Ash smiled. Two is better than one after all.
"I'll assist as well." Mewtwo teleported next to Blastoise, much to their surprise.
"Mewtwo? What about the others?" Ash questioned.
"Mew is here along with Amber. In my place Mew will protect them." Mewtwo answered.
He wanted to ask why in the world was Amber here, but knew he had focus right now. Complete task now, ask questions later.
Zapdos flew next to them and sent out thunder attacks but Mewtwo used Barrier to get in between them and block them off. For good measure he knocked into the Legendary, preventing it from getting any closer.
Lugia avoided a flamethrower from Moltres, another one was blocked off by Blastoise's water gun. Lugia flew upwards, "Hold on tight." Ash did. Lugia was soaring through the sky and thanks to the efforts of Ash's Pokémon they'll be able to make it to the next Island.
"Lugia, are those pokémon down there gathering for a reason?" Ash already knew what they were here but needed confirmation.
"They feel they must be here, in case they are needed." Lugia replied.
Ash could see all of them were looking up at him and Lugia. This all felt so strange to him, "What can they do to help?"
"They are not sure, and that is why they are here."
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"That just one pokémon can help the world would be worth the journey of thousands of them any day. But this day, the one that can make all the difference is you."
Ash understood and nodded, smiling.
"Pikachu (That's right)." Pikachu was agreeing with everything Lugia said.
They were almost to the Shrine where Ash needed to place the final treasure needed to quell this madness once and for all. Lugia was almost there thanks to not having to deal with any interference with the assistance of Ash's pokémon.
"I see them! They're getting close!" Tracey easily spotted them with his binoculars.
"Good. That means Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos are distracted enough for them to arrive here safely." Cynthia was relieved about that.
Serena was still worried, "Please make it…" Amber and Molly held each of her hands. The two girls did this to make her feel more calm and relaxed, and it was working.
Melody was more worried about the next part of the legend, "Let's hope the legend is true…" she was referring to the song.
Ash could see all of them in the distance and relaxed. They made it. He was about to wave at them when he saw something approaching them out of the corner of his eye. Those rings! Him again!
Pikachu was equally mad as he used a thunderbolt to try and keep them away. This didn't work, so Ash decided to try something of his own. Closing his eyes, he tried to gather his aura and spread it around them. A blue sphere surrounded them as he used his aura to protect them from the rings. Ash opened his eyes and saw actually managed to create a barrier, but knew it wouldn't last long.
"Lugia!" Ash called.
Lugia opened its mouth and sent a Hyper Beam attack in the direction of where Lawrence was. It destroyed the aircraft for good, and the fate of the man who started all of this was left unknown. The rings lost their power…but so did Ash.
"Pikapi (Ash)!" Pikachu cried out in horror as Ash slumped over and fell off Lugia's neck. Lugia immediately dived after after him but was hindered when Moltres sent another flamethrower at it. He couldn't catch Ash as he crashed into the water.
Ash's eyes were closed as he sank beneath the water.
"I…have failed." Lugia said, feeling like a failure.
"Pika Pika! Pikapi (What do you mean?! Ash needs help)!" Pikachu yelled at the Legendary.
Ash could feel his thoughts becoming foggy as he was starting to lose consciousness. This is bad. If he loses consciousness then everyone will…
A blue light appeared before him as he was about to lose hope. Someone was there, in that light. Coming towards him.
"There is no need to fear."
He felt warm hands touch each side of his face as the figure leaned down, pressing their forehead against his. Warm energy pulsed through him.
"By your hands, the world is safe."
Ash felt his aura surged forth, burning with more energy than before. Bursts from the water, his body glowing as he descended from the sky and landed on the Island. He willed his aura away as he brought out the final treasure from his pocket.
"Nothing to fear…" He murmured, smiling.
"Pikapi (Ash)!" Pikachu cried out in happiness as he jumped off Lugia's neck and jumped on Ash.
He hugged Pikachu, "Sorry for the scare."
"Pika Pika (I'm just happy you're okay)!" Pikachu nuzzled him.
"Lugia, are you okay?" Ash asked the Legendary.
"By your power I am unharmed." Lugia was happy to see Ash was okay.
Ash wasted no time and ran up the stairs, but lost his footing and fell. Out of nowhere, Tracey and Ritchie held up both his arms, helping him back up. He was grateful for their help as they walked with him the rest of the way.
Serena smiled when she saw him, "He made it!"
"Just in time!" Melody grinned.
"Togephree (Yay)!" Togepi cheered from the top of Slowking's head.
"Have you brought the final treasure, Ash?" Slowking asked.
Ash showed him the Ice Sphere, "I have a lot of questions to ask, but that can wait till later."
"Agreed. Place the final treasure there." Slowking pointed at the Ice Island spot. Ash walked up the stairs to the altar. He placed the final orb with the rest and stepped back. All three spheres glowed. Their light combining to create a green light, green symbols from beneath them became visible as the snow around the shrine vanished. Green water flowed out of the shrine and spread beneath the seven pillars around them. The seven pillars glowed green and crystallized.
Serena realized they needed to do the next part of the legend, "The song!" She turned to Melody.
Melody nodded, then paused and looked at Ash, "You play it." She said.
Ash blinked then smiled and took out his ocarina and began to play.
(The Legend Comes to Life)
As he played the song, one by one the pillars lit up. Everyone watched as Ash's clothes began to glow before transforming into light blue long sleeved shirt, matching pants, with a hood attached. There were dark blue markings on the clothes, and they noticed he was barefoot. His warm aura spread around the shrine and across the island.
Zapdos and Moltres awakened as they heard the song and felt their bodies healing. The sun's warm rays waned down on Articuno as it woke up. The weather began to slowly change back to normal as the dark clouds dispersed.
Beautiful red flowers bloomed from the shrine once again as Slowking smiled. Everyone jumped when the green water flowed down the steps and onto the water. It spread across the frozen waters and to the three islands. Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno took flight, as did Lugia. The sky was clear once more and the frozen water melted away as the four birds flew through the air.
Lugia landed before them, gesturing for them to get on his back. Ritchie, picked up Molly, Tomo and Amber and had them get on Lugia's neck while he took place on its back.
To their shock, Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos wanted them to get on their backs, too. Misty and Serena got on the back of Articuno. Tracey got on Zapdos and Cynthia got on Moltres. All of them flew through the air as Melody and Slowking watched on, smiling.
Ash kept playing the song as a whirlpool came out of the water and spread across the sky. Lugia and three birds flew together while the Pokémon who gathered around either flew or swam with them. It was a joyous sight to behold. The large whirlpool fell back into the water as the song neared its end. As the final notes played, Ash opened his eyes as the green pillars stopped glowing. He looked up at the clear blue sky and smiled.
(The Legend Come to Life: End)
Ash held his ocarina close, 'Thank you…' he had no idea who he was thanking but felt it needed to be said. He then noticed his new clothing, "When did my clothes change?"
"That attire was once worn by your ancestor. Consider it a family heirloom and treasure it well." Slowking answered, smiling.
Ash was even more curious to know about his ancestor, "Did you know him personally?"
Slowking's smile never left its face, "We were friends. Along with the Guardian of the Sea, but alas…we could not join him on his journey." He had a melancholic expression on his face.
Ash felt sorry for Slowking and Lugia. The two of them must have really cared about his ancestor. So much in fact they wanted to join him on his journey, but his ancestor rejected them joining him because he wanted them to be free. He was starting to understand his ancestor a little more, he was kind and protective.
"Then…would you like to come with me?" Ash asked.
Slowking was surprised.
"Maybe you couldn't join my ancestor, but I would love it if you would join me in my journey." Ash smiled at Slowking.
Slowking felt its heart burst with happiness and joy, "Good grief, two peas in a pod…thank you."
Ash took out a pokeball and gently tapped Slowking on the head. It dinged instantly, making him smile.
"Welcome to the family." Ash said then released Slowking.
Ash stepped down from the shrine just as Lugia and the other birds flew down. Slowking was right next to him, "Did you guys have fun?"
"Are you kidding?! That was awesome! Flying in the back of Lugia felt amazing!" Ritchie grinned.
"Lugia was flying so smooth just like an airplane!" Molly moved her arms in a way that resembled a plane.
"I wanna do it again!" Tomo smiled.
"Me, too!" Molly nodded.
Amber bowed her head at Lugia, "Thank you."
Lugia nodded.
"I never thought in all my life I'd get to fly on the back of a Legendary pokémon!" Tracey was ecstatic.
"First time for everything, right?" Cynthia smiled at his enthusiasm.
"It was a little cold, but I'm so glad I got to ride on the back of Articuno." Serena said.
"Same here." Misty smiled.
"So, Ash. Are you gonna keep that outfit or what?" Ritchie asked.
"Yep. It's a family heirloom after all." Ash replied, smiling.
"Seriously? It looks amazing! Your ancestor had great taste in clothing." Misty complimented.
Ash smiled then turned his attention to Lugia, "Lugia, I already accepted Slowking but I want to ask you myself. Don't want to come with me on my journey?"
Lugia lowered its head towards Ash,"If by your will." That was basically a "yes" in Ash's mind. He brought out his Heavy Ball and gently tapped Lugia on the head. Like with Slowking, it dinged instantly.
"Looks like we got two new family members, Pikachu." Ash smiled.
"Pika (We sure did)!" Pikachu smiled.
Mewtwo teleported to their location with Charizard and Blastoise with him, "You're okay!" He hugged the three.
"Yes, and balance has been restored." Mewtwo was glad Ash was safe.
"Yeah, good work you two. Return." Ash returned them to their pokeballs to rest.
Mew appeared next to Mewtwo smiling.
Ash released Lugia and wished, "I'm glad that's all over and done with. Now, Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno can return to their islands in peace…" he trailed noticing they were still here.
"Um, Lugia? Why are they still here? Shouldn't they be heading back to their Islands?" Ash asked.
"They have fulfilled their roles in the legend. There is no longer a need for them to remain on their Islands. Their successors will take over their previous roles, as will my own." Lugia answered.
"So they can be free to go wherever they want. I wonder where they'll go now?" Ash wondered out loud then noticed Lugia looking at him and he suddenly had a feeling, "You can't mean…" Lugia nodded.
Ash looked back at the Legendary birds as they screeched but he understood they wanted to go with him. Well, he can't say "no" if they actually want to come with him. He took out three normal pokeballs and yelled their heads, all three instantly dinged.
"This has been one exhausting day…" Ash sighed before noticing his friends were looking at him with their mouths hanging open, "What's wrong?"
Ritchie shook his head, "What's wrong?! Ash, you just caught all four Legendary Pokémon!"
"What he said!" Tracey equally yelled.
Misty shook her head with a smile, "You might as well call Ash the "Legendary Pokémon Catcher." First, Mewtwo and Mew, now Lugia, Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos.
"That seems to be a growing theme around him." Serena found the humor in it.
"After everything Ash went through today, I'd say catching them was a just reward." Melody had no complaints.
"Our big brother caught four Legendary Pokémon!" Molly cheered.
"We can ask to ride on their backs now!" Tomo was excited.
"Make sure we ask politely." Amber reminded them.
Ash and Cynthia gave each other side glances before busting out laughing. Today was a mess, but something good did come out of it in the end.
"As you can see from the live pictures, the severe weather that caused havoc around the globe—has finally ended."
People around the world know now, too. The balance has been restored.
The sun began to set as everything felt much calmer now. Ash stood there smiling as he understood he played an important role in all of this. He also understands there's a lot more to his family heritage than he realized. Today made things all the more for him to keep traveling on his journey to find more answers about not just himself…but his ancestor also.
"Ash!" A familiar voice called out to him, "Ash!"
Ash turned around and saw it was his mother, Professor Oak, and Professor Ivy. Delia ran over to them first.
"Mom!" Ash was surprised but happy to see her.
"Mommy!" Molly and Tomo greeted her.
Delia ran right up to him, hands on her hips, "Alright, start talking! You are in big trouble, mister!"
"But, Mrs. Ketchum, Ash just helped save the whole world." Misty pointed out, trying to calm her down.
Delia wasn't impressed, "Oh, he did, did he? Well, I could have lost my whole world." She retorted.
Ash's eyes widened.
"Everyday I worry about you and wonder if you're alright. I know I can't stop you from doing the things you need to do. I just can't help missing you all the time." Delia confessed, fighting back tears.
Ash listened and didn't interrupt.
"You're a Pokémon Trainer and that's just how it is. But next time, could you try to save the world a little closer to home." Delia resigned. Ash hugged her after she finished talking. She wasn't expecting that but she hugged him back.
"Sorry for always worrying you. I'm a Pokémon Trainer, that's true, but I'm also your son—Ash Ketchum. And I wouldn't have it any other way." Ash relaxed in her warm hug. They can call him Chosen One or whatever, but at the end of the day, to his mom and those that know him…he's Ash Ketchum. A Pokémon Trainer.
Delia smiled, "I'm glad to hear that. And just remember that everyday, you're my hero." She hugged him more firmly.
"Thanks, mom." Ash relaxed in her hold.
"By the way, what are you wearing? It looks really nice." She pulled back to inspect his new attire.
"About that…"Ash saw Professor Oak running up to them.
Samuel noticed Cynthia and asked, "Pardon, but would you happen to be Professor Carolina's granddaughter?"
"Yes, I am. It's a pleasure to meet you, Professor Oak." Cynthia greeted him.
Samuel smiled, "Oh, no the pleasure is all mine. Your grandmother has told me of your many accomplishments, she's very proud of you."
"Huh? What are you talking about Professor? Do you know who Cynthia is?" Ritchie asked.
"Why of course, she's the Champion of Sinnoh." Samuel revealed.

.
.
"SHE'S WHAT?!" All of them but Ash, Molly, Tomo, Amber, and Melody exclaimed.
Ash chuckled, "Just another normal adventure, right?" He said to Pikachu.
"Pika (As always)!" Pikachu smiled.
"By the way, what happened to Team Rocket?" Ash wondered.
Pikachu shrugged, "Pika? Pika (Who knows? We'll see them again, anyway)."
Ash smiled, "That's true."
Elsewhere, Lawrence III held an old Mew collectible card and smiled, "How it all began. And how I'll begin…again." He looked up at the full moon, smiling.
He decided to collect something far smaller than Legendary Pokémon from now on.
A lone red flower floated in the water.
Life can be a challenge
Life can seem impossible
It's never easy when so much
Is on the line
Melody sat on top of a rock, playing her ocarina as the warm breeze moved her hair.
But you can make a difference
With courage, you can set things right
The gift to dream and make dreams real
Is yours and mine
Carol waved goodbye to her friend as she got a new boat and left the island. Carol and her grandfather waved goodbye to her as she sped away. She waved them goodbye back until next time, but she won't forget the incredible things she saw.
Begins with believing
It starts in the heart,
Then flows through the soul
And changes the world
Imagine how life will be
When we stand in unity
Each of us holds the key
To the power of one
Ash and the others were out camping as they relaxed and thought about everything that happened. Ash told his mother and Professor Oak everything, the old man nearly had a heart attack when Ash told him he caught Lugia and the three Legendary birds—who all wanted to come with him and even caught a talking Slowking! Delia was happy that Ash discovered some new information about his heritage. She told him it was definitely from his father's side and that he also had questions about his origins.
Delia also gave him a new pair of his old clothes and took the ones he was wearing. Cynthia stayed with them for a little while longer before she had to depart back to Sinnoh. He promised to keep everything she saw a secret, much to their relief. Ritchie asked for a battle and was pretty whacked upside the head by Misty, which also prompted another argument. Cynthia waved them goodbye as she left the island and wished Ash luck in the Orange League.
So, here they are now. Camping out at night and just casually talking before going to bed.
Then one by one
We can make the world
A much better place
Morning had come and they were riding in the back of Lapras, Blastoise, and Gyarados. Ash sent back Lugia and the others so they can get to know the rest of his Pokémon. Mewtwo was still with him, of course, as was Pheromosa.
The power of one
Begins with believing
They stopped to walk around the city of another island they spotted. The weather felt nice as they all looked around and enjoyed themselves.
It starts in the heart,
Then flows through the soul
And changes the world
Imagine how life will be
When we stand in unity
Tracey began sketching a nearby boat while the others watched him and simply enjoyed the warm weather and cool breeze.
When we stand in unity
Each of us holds the key
It's inside of you and me
Each of us holds the key
To the power of one
Back in Pallet Town, Delia was out in her garden and Mimey was doing chores, with Amber outside with them.
Krabby, Snubbull, Venonat,
Mankey, Chansey, and Zubat,
Slowking, Ditto, Butterfree,
Lugia, and Caterpie,
Oddish, Poliwag, Goldeen,
Elekid, and Nidoqueen,
Victreebel, and Magneton -
Everybody, Polkamon!
Calm had truly been restored to the world as a flock of Pidgey were flying around without a care in the world.
Geodude, and Arcanine,
Jigglypuff, and Mr. Mime.
Don't forget about Sandslash,
Exeggcute, and Rapidash,
Lickitung, and Porygon -
Everybody, Polkamon!
Professor Oak was in his lab, talking to Professor Ivy on the other side as Brock was in the background doing something.
Everybody, Polkamon!
Everybody, Polkamon!
Brock made a leave sign as Professor Oak laughed.
Some find it sharing every morning
Some in their solitary lives
The gang were just sitting on a cliff and staring out into the beautiful horizon. No words were being said, they were all more focused on enjoying the atmosphere and beautiful scenery.
You'll find it in the words of others
A simple line can make you laugh or cry
As they rode in the back of the water pokemon, they all held large umbrellas above them so they wouldn't get wet.
You'll find it in the deepest friendship
The kind you cherish all your life
And when you know how much that means
You've found that special thing
You're flying without wings
They found shelter in a tree grove and watched the rain fall.
And you're the place my life begins
And you'll be where it ends
I'm flying without wings
Peace and tranquility returned to four Islands as four lights descended from the sky. The predecessors Lugia spoke of were sent to the three Islands, while one was sent deep in the ocean. Who is to say if the balance will be disturbed again. No one knows…for that is a story another time.
Next Time: Pummelo Island & Lapras Pod!
