A New Start
It's amazing how quickly someone's life can change. One minute, you're in your hometown, hanging out with your friends; next thing you know, you're all packed up, and moving with your mothers, and most of your siblings, to start new lives.
It all started when the boy's mothers divorced their husbands for various reasons. Shiela Broflovski divorced her husband, Gerald, because she discovered he was the internet troll known as Skankhunt42; she didn't want Kyle and Ike to be influenced by Gerald's bad behavior. After the divorce, she got half of Geralds' money, and full custody of Kyle and Ike.
Carol McCormick divorced Stuart for not being able to hold a job; she didn't get much money from the divorce, but she got custody of her two youngest children, Kenny and Karen, while Stuart got custody of their oldest son, Kevin.
Sharon Marsh divorces her husband, Randy, for so many reasons; but the straw that broke the camel's back was when Randy held a Tegridy Farm easter egg hunt for the children of South Park and put small marijuana joints in the plastic easter eggs instead of candy. (Randy was very high when he came up with that idea) Randy was arrested for giving drugs to minors and was sentenced to twenty years in prison; Sharon wished it was a life sentence instead.
While in court, Sharon filed for divorce, and got half of Randy's money, as well as custody of both their children. After Randy got sent to prison, she sold Tegridy Farms for a lot more money.
After all the divorcing was done; the moms, including Liane Cartman, got together to discuss their plans for the future. They talked about it for a while, and decided they should move somewhere else, and get away from South Park. We mean, it's not exactly a wholesome place to raise their children; there's strip clubs, bars, and also constant attacks on the town by lots of things (such as zombies, genetically modified turkeys, a giant, mechanized, Barbara Streisand).
They spent the last two days looking over travel brochures, and soon found a place that looked nice; a place called the Galar Region.
Once they agreed to move there, they packed up all their possessions, booked the earliest flight there, and were on their way.
They ended up moving to a small town in Galar called Wedgehurst. Sharon used some of the money she got in her divorce settlement to buy Carol's family a house to live in, which they all appreciated because it was a LOT nicer than their old house.
Liane wanted to move there with the other families because she didn't want her son, Eric, to be apart from his friends; also, because if they weren't around, he'd be spending more time at home...with her.
The moms all got jobs in one of Galar's largest cities, Motostoke, to support their families, which they used a train to get to. All in all, things were looking good for the mothers; but the boys were bored out of their minds.
They didn't exactly take moving to the Galar Region too well. They didn't know anybody there or know anything they could do for fun. They mainly spent their time hanging out in their new homes all day. After a week of this, the boys' mothers decided to do something about this.
One day, while the boys were sitting on the porch of Stan's new house, their moms went up to them to have a talk.
"Boys, we think it's time you did something besides hanging around at home all day and night." said Shiela.
"That's right." said Sharon. "You should be out exploring the town, having fun."
"But mom, we don't know what to do around here." said Stan.
"Which is why you should be checking the area out." said Sharon. "Who knows? You might find something interesting."
"That's right, Eric." said Liane. "You should give the Galar Region a chance."
"That goes for you, too, Kenny." said Carol.
"But..." Stan started to say.
"NOW!" said the moms, making the boys groan, and walk off somewhere. The moms watch the boys walk off with concern.
"I hope they find out about Pokemon soon." said Sharon as she thought back to all the ones she saw in Motostoke.
"Yes, they're really quite amazing." said Shiela.
"We should've told the boys about them." said Carol.
"Would they have believed us?" asked Sharon.
"Well, they've seen a lot of weird things in their lives." said Shiela.
"That's true." said Sharon.
Somewhere in Wedgehurst, the boys were walking down a road called Route 1 with upset expressions on their faces.
"Damn it, this sucks ass!" exclaimed Cartman.
"I know! Why the hell did we have to move here!?" asked Kyle.
"But it's not too bad here. I don't have to put up with my parents fighting, my mom has a good job, and our new home is great." said Kenny. "I need to thank your mom for buying that house for us, Stan."
"No problem, Kenny." said Stan. "I just hope we find something fun to do around here." As the boys explore the countryside outside the city, they hear voices coming from nearby.
"Hey, want to have a Pokemon battle?" they hear a boy ask.
"Sure." they hear another boy reply. The boys look to see two boys about their age. One had brown hair, wearing a white shirt with some sort of red symbol on it. (pokeball symbol), brown shorts, white socks, and brown shoes. The other boy had black hair, wearing a red, long-sleeved shirt, black pants, white socks, and black shoes. The two boys walked several feet from each other and stood, facing each other while Stan and his friends watched.
"What are they doing?" asked Kenny.
"Don't know, dude." said Kyle. They watched as each boy pulled out some ball-like device out of their pockets and pushed a button on them, making them bigger. "What are those things?"
"So, how many Pokemon are we using?" asked the brown-haired boy.
"Just one." replied the black-haired boy.
"What the hell are Pokemon?" asked Cartman.
"Go, Skwovet!" said the brown-haired boy, throwing the ball, which opens in mid-air, releasing red energy from inside it, forming what appeared to be a squirrel-like creature.
"Whoa!" Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman say in unison.
"Come out, Nickit!" said the black-haired boy, throwing his ball, which opens and releases a fox-like creature. The two creatures faced each other.
"Nickit, Quick Attack!" said the black-haired boy. The fox-like creature, now identified as a Nicket charges at the squirrel creature with incredible speed and rams it, knocking it back.
"Wow, cool!" said Cartman.
"Skwovet, Stuff Cheeks!" said the brown-haired boy. The squirrel creature, now identified as a Skwovet reaches into its bushy tail and pulls out a blue berry (Oran Berry) and eats it, healing its wound, and begins bulking up.
"Nickit, Hone Claws!" said the black-haired boy. Nickit extends claws from its front paws, and it becomes surrounded by a red aura.
"Skwovet, Tail Whip!" said the brown-haired boy. Skwovet runs at Nickit and wags its tail onto it, making Nickit slump.
"Beat Up!" said the black-haired boy. Nickit runs at Skwovet and hits it twice with its front paws.
"Tackle!" said the brown-haired boy. Skwovet runs at Nickit and rams it, knocking it to the ground.
"Use Quick Attack again!" said the black-haired boy. Nickit runs at Skwovet with incredible speed and rams it. Skwovet falls to the ground with swirly eyes.
"Skwovet, no!" said the brown-haired boy.
"Way to go, Nickit." said the black-haired boy. The brown-haired boy holds the ball device towards Skwovet and releases a red beam of light from the button on it, which hits Skwovet and turns it into red energy, then gets sucked back into the ball.
"Good battle." said the brown-haired boy.
"Thanks." replied the black-haired boy. Stan and his friends watch with stunned looks on their faces.
"That...was so...KEWL!" said Cartman.
"We gotta find out more about those things!" said Stan as he and his friends run over to the two boys who turn to look at them as they hear them approaching.
"Hi." said the brown-haired boy.
"Who are you guys?" asked the black-haired boy. "We've never seen you before."
"We moved here over a week ago." explained Kyle.
"Ah, I see." said the black-haired boy.
"I'm Stan Marsh." said Stan.
"I'm Kyle Broflovski." said Kyle.
"I'm Eric Cartman, but everyone just calls me Cartman." said Cartman.
"And I'm Kenny McCormick." said Kenny.
"I'm Xavier." said the brown-haired boy.
"And I'm Alphonse." said the black-haired boy.
"What were those creatures you two had?" asked Kenny.
"You mean our Pokemon?" replied Xavier.
"Pokemon?" replied Stan.
"You don't know about Pokemon?" asked Alphonse.
"No, we don't have them where we're originally from." said Stan.
"Wow." replied Alphonse. "We always believed Pokemon existed everywhere in the world."
"I guess not everywhere." said Xavier.
"Why were you having your Pokemon fight one another?" asked Kyle.
"That's what Pokemon trainers usually do." said Alphonse.
"Pokemon trainers?" asked Kenny.
"They're people who catch Pokemon for various reasons." said Xavier. "Some catch Pokemon for companionship, some use Pokemon for various tasks that require their unique talent, some train them to battle other trainers' Pokemon."
"You see, there's an annual competition here in the Galar Region where Pokemon trainers face off against each other to earn the right to face the current champion." said Alphonse.
"Sounds cool." said Kyle.
"How can we get in on this Pokemon stuff?" asked Stan.
"Well, you're old enough to do so; but you should try and learn more about Pokemon if you really want to be trainers." said Alphonse. Just then, Xavier taps Alphonse's shoulder to get his attention.
"Aren't you forgetting something?" asked Xavier as he holds out his hand. "You did just lose our Pokemon battle."
"Oh, yeah." said Alphonse with a frown as he reaches into his pocket, and pulls out some pokedollars, then hands it to Xavier.
"Why are you giving Xavier money?" asked Kenny.
"You see, after a Pokemon battle between two trainers, the loser has to give the winner half the money they have on them." explained Alphonse.
"You can get money just by winning Pokemon battles?!" replied Cartman.
"That's right." said Xavier. Stan and his friends look at each other.
"We have got to learn more about Pokemon!" said Stan.
"Being a Pokemon trainer sounds so cool!" said Kyle.
"If you want to learn more about Pokemon, there's a school that teaches kids about Pokemon in Motostoke." said Xavier.
"Aww, I don't wanna go to school!" said Cartman.
"What would we have to learn there?" asked Stan.
"Mainly Pokemon-related stuff; like the many types and species of Pokemon, how to take care of them, battle with them, the moves they can use, and other stuff." said Alphonse.
"Oh, that's okay then." said Cartman.
"Our moms work in Motostoke; let's talk to them about it." said Stan.
"Let's go, dudes." said Kyle. He and the others run home, not realizing they're about to start a new, exciting adventure.
