"Well, that went well, I think," Charlie said after dinner.
"They certainly all seemed interested in your background," Sybbie commented. "I hope it wasn't too awkward for you."
"Honestly, why would I care? As long as I passed the test."
"I don't think there's a test, except getting up early enough for the train tomorrow."
"You don't have to worry about that. I know better than to disappoint my grandparents by missing a train."
"Will they be expecting me?" Sybbie asked.
"Yes, I also know better than to surprise them."
"Do they know?"
"I told them when I called yesterday."
