The Lobby

A low buzzing noise echoed into Rebecca's ears as she slowly began to open her eyes. The cat girl's vision was blurry for a moment but slowly began to clear up within seconds. Once she was fully away, Rebecca woke up to find herself in a strange place that had cream-yellowish colored walls, pale dark brown and moist carpets, flickering lights on and off in most locations on the ceiling, and an annoying buzzing sound that was coming from what she could guest were the lights making the sound.

"What the hell?" Rebecca asked as she scanned the area she was in. "Where am I?"

"I would say we might be in the basement of this school," said Claudia as Rebecca turned around to see the fox girl casually on the floor with her legs crossed, her back against the wall, and her hands on the back of her head in a relaxing manner. "But given how U.A. has one hell of a budget to make a large-scale city, I wouldn't be surprised if this place was part of U.A."

"Claudia? Oh thank god, are you okay?"

"As okay as I can ever be. Though if I have one complaint, that would be the annoying buzzing noise coming from the lights in this place."

"How long have I been knocked out?" Rebecca asked as she pulled herself up from the floor.

"Don't know," Claudia said before reaching into a small pocket dimension to pull out her cell phone. "Time doesn't seem to work properly in this place given how the numbers on the clock setting are going crazy. But if I had to guess, I say about a good thirty minutes or so seeing how I woke up before you did."

"Swell…wait, where are we?" Rebecca asked as she looked around the area they were in. "It looks like we're in the halls of some kind of hotel or something."

"You would think that, but you do remember how we ended up sinking through the floor in the girl's bathroom?" Claudia asked as it caused Rebecca to remember that event.

"Right…you think this is some kind of punishment from Nezu?"

"Even Nezu's not that bad of a rat…mouse person to do something like this." She said before standing up on her feet and walking over to Rebecca as she offered a hand to the cat girl. Rebecca took notice of this as she grabbed the fox girl's hand to pull herself up.

"Think you can teleport us out of here?" Rebecca asked as she noticed Claudia gathering energy into her hands, but it soon vanished in an instant.

"...Seems like someone is blocking my ability to use my quirk to leave this place…this could be a problem." She said before looking at her phone for a service signal. "And we don't have a signal in this place…crap."

"So what do we do now?" She asked before noticing Claudia opening a medium-sized tear in space. She soon reached inside to pull out two suitcases with the numbers eighty and ninety on them. "Wait, why do you have our hero outfits?"

"...I figure if we ended up leaving U.A., then we could sell them to the black market or something for some quick cash," Claudia said which caused Rebecca to raise an eyebrow at her. "What? We'll be broke as hell if we go on the run, can't rely on your charm and innocent looks to get us by on the streets…unless you're willing to sell your body for sex?"

"...Fair enough," Rebecca said while taking the suitcase from the fox girl. "So we can't teleport out of here, nor can we get a signal in this place. Suppose our only option is to look around and see if we can find the exit to this place."

"Shouldn't be that hard. I mean how big can this place be, right?"

"...You jinxed us."

"What?"

"You jinxed us with that statement…and I'm going to smack you upside your head if we get into trouble," Claudia said as started to take off her school uniform, which in turn caused Rebecca to turn around quickly.

"For god sake, at least warn me when you're about to change!"

"Oh please, like we haven't seen each other naked before. Plus I would think you would be okay with this, what with you being a-"

"Lower your voice. We don't know if anyone from school might be listening to us or something." Rebecca said before letting out a small sigh of annoyance. "Alright, you make a valid point. But it's more of a principle to inform someone when they're changing or something, right?"

"Fine, mom . I'll give you a heads up for when I do change my clothes next time." She said before pointing to Rebecca's suitcase. "Just get your costume on so we can start looking for a way out."

"Yeah, yeah. Not like we're in a rush or anything." She said before starting to take her clothes off and quickly put on her hero costume. Within a matter of three minutes, the duo would be finished getting into their hero costume. For Rebecca her costume was themed off of a medieval knight, only it had pieces of armor around her chest, shoulder waist, legs, left hand, and right wrist. It would be noticed that there was a cloth wrapped around her waist along with a sword. Claudia was costume was themed off of a Viking warrior, the only pieces of armor she had on were metal boots, but the shirt part of her attire was made out of chainmail, red baggy pants, a brown colored cloth placed around her waist, four bags ranging from having three of them being small, and one being large. The fox girl soon reached into her large bag to pull out what appeared to be an ax-like polearm as she placed it on the holster on her back. Rebecca blinked in surprise upon seeing this as she spoke up.

"Since when are we allowed to carry weapons like that? Last time I checked, it was denied due to being unethical and could kill someone."

"Since never, but that doesn't mean they have to know about it," Claudia said which caused Rebecca to shrug as she adjusted the gauntlet on her left hand.

"Nice to see that your pocket dimensions can still be accessed. Which reminds me, how much food do we have saved up for?"

"Actual food, two years worth. MREs that I got from my uncle overseas, five to ten years. But we should only eat them sparingly. Water, if used sparingly, I say about a good six years or so."

"Never thought you being overly prepared would come in handy in a situation like this," Rebecca said before noticing Claudia moving past her and taking the lead. The foxgirl motions for Rebecca to follow her down the hallway.

"Let's head down this way. Maybe we might find the exit this way." She said while her friend nodded and began following after the foxgirl. While the two were making their way down the hallway, in the distance, someone or something was watching them from around the corner…well sort of watching them, but this figure was able to pick up their footsteps as it began to quickly and quietly follow after Rebecca and Claudia. It had been about six hours since the duo began their search for a means to escape this place. To their annoyance, they ended up walking into a lot of deadends which caused them to backtrack to where they first started and try a different path. With each path they follow, they end up being led to multiple dead ends which causes them to become very annoyed. Their saving grace was that they ended up following arrows that were leading them to a different area of the lobby. After following the fifth arrow they're led to a room that had a simple drawing of a window with a sun, a drawing of a nose and pair of eyes, the phrase "don't move, stay still," and various other indistinguishable markings and words on it. Rebecca and Claudia looked at each other for a moment before moving to where the wall was and began to look over it. In a matter of two minutes, the two let out a sigh of annoyance as Rebecca moved off to the side.

"We've been walking for what seems to be hours," Rebecca said with a tone of annoyance in her voice. "Hours of walking in this stupid maze, and we can't find a bloody exit to this place!?" She said before kicking the wall next to her in anger. "Whoever made this place is going to get a boot to the head when I find them because I am pissed!"

"Much as I would agree with your statement, but I'm a bit worried."

"Worried about what? Dying of boredom or dying from being stuck here for the rest of our lives?"

"A lot of things. Mainly where we are." Claudia said while looking closely at the words on the wall. "I'm starting to think we're not in school."

"What makes you say that?"

"I've been keeping track of the time on my phone thanks to the stopwatch app I added to it. We've been down here for six hours." She said which caused Rebecca to raise an eyebrow at her. "Shouldn't Principle Nezu have sent someone down here to come and get us or something?"

"...Oh crap, you're right. Not to mention given how this school has security cameras in just about every location, we would've sounded the alarms if we were in an off-limits area." Rebecca said as she looked around the area they were in. "You don't think we were kidnapped or something?"

"I doubt we were kidnapped seeing how the security system in the school would've activated and the alarms would go off. I know my quirk couldn't have anything to do with us being here seeing how I couldn't use it to teleport us out of the bathroom. There are just too many things that don't make sense right now. We'll figure out how we got here later, right now we have important matters to attend to."

"Like figuring out what's written on the wall?" Rebecca asked as she walked over to examine what it meant. More specifically, the words that said ' Don't move, stay still.' which was written in black colored ink. "Don't move, stay still...What do you think it means?"

"Could it be a warning of some kind? Doesn't give us much to go by seeing how a lot of the writing is kind of hard to read." Claudia said while adjusting her glasses. "You think they would be more legible with their writing."

"Maybe they were in a rush to finish what they needed to say due to what might've been following-" Before Rebecca could finish her sentence, the sound of a monstrous and distorted roar could be heard coming from behind the two. Their ears perked up upon hearing this before they turned around to see what was the source behind the roar. Their eyes widened upon seeing a tall thin black figure with a strange box-like head, jagged-like teeth, and thin wired-like body heading towards them at an alarming rate. The moment the figure was close, it raised its hand and was about to impale it into Rebecca's face. Only for it to miss as Claudia tackled Rebecca to the ground as the Bacteria impaled the wall behind them.

"What the hell is that thing!?" Rebecca asked before she and Claudia quickly pulled themselves up. They could see the monster's hand stuck in the wall as it struggled to pull it out.

"Don't know, but I would suggest we run!" Claudia said before grabbing Rebecca by the hand and began running through the endless maze together. The sound of the monster freeing its hand from the wall could be heard before hearing the same roar as before followed by the sound of the creature following after them. Looking behind, Rebecca's eyes widened upon seeing the bacteria quickly closing the distance.

"Fuck, that thing is fast!" Rebecca yelled before feeling herself being thrown to the side by Claudia. The fox girl turned herself around to face the monster tailing them. The moment she did this, she saw the monster standing in front of her and impaled her in the chest. Rebecca's eyes widen upon seeing her friend killed by this creature but soon notices two small portals appearing in front of Claudia and behind the monster.

"Haha! Bet you weren't expecting that, did you!?" She asked before noticing the monster pulling its arm back from the portal before trying again to impale the fox girl again, only for the same thing to happen again as his appendage thrust itself into its face…or whatever a bacteria would call a face. "I could use some help here please?"

"...Crap, I forgot that we have quirks," Rebecca said before standing up quickly. The moment she stood up, the monster turned its attention onto her as it let out a loud broken roar before charging at her. In a frantic and scared manner, she quickly ducks to the right as the bacteria's claw-like hand impales itself into the wall behind Rebecca. "Wait, is this thing even human? I mean it could be some guy with a mutation quirk that's causing him to act like this?"

"We can still use our quirks to defend ourselves, just don't kill him if he's a human with a mutation quirk!" She yelled before seeing the bacteria pull its hand from out of the wall and charge at Rebecca. "He's heading your way, move your ass!" Upon seeing the monster heading towards her, Rebecca placed her hand forward in the monster's direction as she fired off a pale blue beam at its head. The moment the attack made contact with the monster's head, it recoiled back in pain as the two students noticed cracks running across its body.

"...I don't think he's human," Rebecca said as she noticed the monster recovering from the shot to the head as it charged at her again, only this time it was moving slower and limping slightly. The cat girl jumps back a good two feet from the monster before firing a small concentrated beam at its leg. The moment his attack makes contact with its left leg, it crumbles into dust as the bacteria falls to the ground. The monster let out a cracked audio-like roar of pain as it was now dragging itself towards Rebecca as pieces of its body could be seen coming apart. A sigh of relief escaped Rebecca's mouth as she jumped over the injured bacteria monster and landed next to Claudia. "I think we're safe for now. Is it wrong that I kind of feel sorry for it?"

"I don't, it tried to kill us," Claudia said bluntly while quickly smacking Rebecca upside her head which caused her to yelp in pain and surprise. "Before you say anything, remember what I said before about jinxing us six hours ago?"

"How was I supposed to know this would happen!?" Rebecca said while rubbing the back of her head. She soon turns her attention onto the creature limping towards them. "I wonder who or what made this thing?"

"I…don't know…honestly, I don't even want to know." She said before raising her hand at the creature as it was encased in a magenta-colored sphere. Once inside, the fox girl looked over at Rebecca before speaking. "What do we do with this thing?"

"I don't know…Nor do I want to know how this thing was made." She said carefully getting closer to the bacteria. It would attempt to impale its claw-like hand into the cat girl's face, but its hand crumbled into dust upon making contact with the bubble it was in. "I'm going to kill it. Not because it's not human, but because I have a feeling it might come after us later if we let it go."

"I kind of feel bad for this thing," Rebecca said before moving away from the monster. "But you're right. It might come after us if we let it go and recover from the damage inflicted upon it. Plus there might be other people in this place and they might end up coming across this thing."

"So we agree about killing this thing?" The fox girl asked as Rebecca nodded. Claudia turned her attention onto the bacteria as she twisted her hand to the right as if turning a door knob. In an instant, the bubble flicked for a moment as the monster was soon twisted and winded up and the sound of snapping and breaking could be heard from the creature. Within a matter of seconds, the bubble shrank in size before vanishing along with the remains of the monster. There was a moment of silence after the monster was killed but was soon broken as Rebecca spoke up.

"M-Maybe we should take a small break before continuing our search for the exit?"

"...Yeah, that would be for the best," Claudia said before motioning for her friend to follow her. "Let's head back to the area where we found the writing and drawings on the wall." She suggested as the duo began to make their way back to where they first encountered the
