Waiting…
He was...waiting.
It was not the fact that he was still doing so that annoyed him, he was well used to it by now from his times as a common grunt and even now as first child when his superiors commanded him and pulled his strings one step at a time...or twelve.
One had to wait for their decisions.
In fact, there were many ways and ways that one could wait.
With patience, weary, tired...or anxious like a mouse unable to see the cats paw about to descend over it.
Zenon knew each and every one of them, and looking at the way things were going he should be glad, or at least grateful with how easy it was going for him for the given moment. However, been stuck in this small room that connected the dressing room with the rest of the barracks was not one of those.
There was neither glory or glamour to be gained down here, no great objective or artifact waiting under the floor for his fingers to latch onto, and it lacked any of the grand sensation of importance that the royal palace held.
Still, he had thought that it could have been worse…
He had spoken too soon.
Now stuck with young lady of the household after following her dutifully where she knew that her new brother would be going after his big debut in the arena.
Zenon fought down the urge to sigh or pinch the bridge of his nose at the migraine coursing through his senses. Knowing full well that he would not be able to held that mask of the "good man" any longer if he did.
Lady Arisha Pendragon was…...the last king of guest he would want to deal with.
Even that brat of Alexia was better company with her jabs, her pettiness and her insults...than this brain-dead little girl that was breathing the same air as him.
His words may have been harsh, perhaps even a little too hasty in labeling as such...but it was not like she had showed any ounce of genius in that thing hanging between her shoulders.
Each time she opened her lips only noise came out.
And there she kept going…
She had started with some small talk, mostly directed at him and what was his connections with the royals, which he had been more than ready and prepared to answer in kind.
It was only natural for her to try to inquire about more than the superficial information he had allowed her to gleam off from him.
But he soon realized that she was not trying to fish out anything to use against him, not some sort of contradiction or dirt or gossip he may have heard from his time among nobles and the royal sisters that someone of Airishas station would have drooled if not killed for.
Instead she had been more interested in knowing what where the likes and dislikes of the princesses, what kind of dress etiquette one needed to follow in their presence and how many parties took place in the royal ballroom…..before switching to start dreaming on her "amazing future self" and how well she was gonna live those days like a fairy tale...
He had almost felt insulted by it.
No, cross that…..he was insulted by it.
Never before he had wanted to kill someone for wasting their time so boldly only to be forced not to.
He had tried to worm his way inside her head a while ago at first, given...how naive she was, but he had decided to drop the interested act right away after the first twenty minutes.
It was not like it was hard to convince her or anything since she did not put any ounce of defense or distrust with him…., much to the contrary, no matter what she said to herself or the feeble attempts to look composed, she was almost clinging to him for attention.
What put a stop to it was the fact that he felt that he was losing his sanity trying to hold a meaningful and productive conversation with the brat.
It wasn't that she was naively dumb…
She was just dumb...and from that there was nothing that would stick much to her brain that had nothing to do with dresses, princess, castles, power, money or herself.
He had easier times networking with Theriantropes who had been dropped on the head when born. At least you then what they wanted, and how they wanted it.
And so he kept quiet, making deaf ears to anything that came out from her lips…., waiting.
And with wait, came self questioning….
And from it, a particular question came to mind.
Why was this girl the scion of the Pendragon family...if she was so blatantly useless? Nothing but dead weight?
In his eyes it did not made sense.
Not from a standard point, a logical one or even a metaphorical or any fancy way…..
The pieces just didn't mend well together...
Everyone could and should probably have seen what a dumb brat the girl was, her parents first of all, so why had they named her the scion? Why had they done so even after making known the presence of the boy that shared their true blood in their household?
Was it because of his bonds with the foreign Velgata empire? Perhaps, but given that they had killed his close family before he fled, there should not be any possible threat coming from wrong placed loyalties….and he doubted he was that good of a sleeping agent.
Velgatians were more brutes than thinkers anyway...
Was it out of necessity to avoid third parties from trying to sway the child to their side now that they may suspect there was a chip in the fine armor the Pendragons had shielded their wealth behind? Hoping to make it known that he would not be the successor to the families wealth and power? Most likely…, but it did not answer all.
After all, assassinations were a thing...and people could suffer funny accidents here and there. A type of event that he was no stranger too..
Perhaps the cult had a hand on this? It was hard to say, but it was not impossible. In fact, they had to be aware of this as much if not more than him.
But if so…..it wasn't him, and if it wasn't him, then it was the other factions since he had subjugated already most of what was left of his masters former power base, which sadly was not much anymore.
In other words, he was been left behind in this invisible race for the prize…
His hands tightened, balling into tight fist while his jaw clenched, teeth grinding against one another
He had already been robbed of his promotion…
And now fate sought to take away that wonderful pawn? He would not have this humiliation
He was the firs tone to find him, he was his and his alone, for fucks sake! Not for others to plunder and take what he had worked so hard for….!
If the cult was trying to steal from him he would kill them.
In a sense, those brute barbarians of the Theriantropes were right. If you wanted to keep something, you better be ready to kill anyone who dared take it away...because if you failed then it was never yours to begin with.
Zenon slowly stood up from his seat, slapping away any dust from his shoulders with his no longer clenched hands after having find some joy at the future prospect of ramming his blade into his future victims.
Besides, had he said already that the timing of things, especially the boys arrival was also peculiar…? What it was? He did not know, what he knew was that something was a miss and that the boy was at the heart of it. Perhaps, the very cause or close to it.
Now that he thought about it, he knew very little of the main cause of this ruckus...
He had heard of him, he had been watching him…, but what drove him? What were his weak points? What were his ambitions..?
About that there was a painfully lack of information.
He could guess, yes, but the more time he spent shadowing him, the more he was shown that what he believed to be true was quickly deconstructed.
[Why are children so complicated..?]
There had to be something…, but how would he find out? Against his will, he found himself tilting his head towards the young scion, still unaware that he was not paying two shits about what she was saying now.
[No…]
…
[I am not doing that…]
…
[Fine….its for a good cause anyway...]
And with that thought in mind, without hesitation he graved one of the knifes he kept hidden in the inner side of the long sleeve of his riding glove and threw the blade right at the girl. Or to be more precise, a small point just a breath away from her skull.
The short throwing knife flying through the air flawlessly and becoming embedded deeply into the wooden frame of a pilar with a loud thud, although one that echoed in time as its farm shook for a few more seconds.
The act had had caught the Scion of the Pendragon family by complete surprise, her brain still trying to make heads of how and why that thing had appeared.
At least that look of fear in her eyes was something to relish.
``W-what?
``There was a fly on that wall, it was about to land on your gracious person..´´
``Ah, I-I….´´
The light blue, almost silver haired girl could not help but stutter as her head had trouble looking away from the knife still deeply lodged into the wall.
``I have been wondering something, I hope you could help me fill in the gaps of these matter my lady..´´
``Y-yes?´´
``What are your thoughts in your brother..´´
``What..?´´
``What do you….think about the little Lord Koldarrd..?´´
Zenon did not expect much from the girl, especially seeing how she remained lock in place like an oversize frightened cat. However, for some reason she chew her lip at the mentioning of the boys name.
``What about him...?´´
``Right, pardon my inquisitive nature for asking such a question in the first place, but I just found myself that I did not know where he stands in your family nowadays. How embarrassing….is it not?.´´
``It...it kind is, but wait! You dont know..!?´´
Zenon started clapping his hands.
``Good, good….it seems we are finally going somewhere´´
``Going somewhere? What are you….-´´
But just as the little girl started to speak, she was cut off when he took a few steps forward. All the while clapping his hands.
`` Now, as you can see, I know what I think of him, however I have not spoken with your Lord father on the matter so I am afraid I am not privy to him, or your mothers thoughts…they are busy people, with so many things to do and work for.´´
``They…..really are, they are the Lords of these lands after all..´´
``And as such, they have responsibilities that are far higher than someone like me could grasp….´´
``I-…..´´
``So, tell me…. would it not be unfair, even for me to bother them without notice or warning of it…, wouldn't you agree? ´´
``I-I...well, yes…! Of course that's exactly righ-´´
He tilted his head to the side, away from the placing his hands now behind his back.
``Of course, I do have plans to meeting them later on, though in a more refine manner for people of such high station. However, that would in the future, and now we are here….following so far?´´
He said calmly, pulling his hands to the sides, almost onward, open wide..., palms aiming at the ceiling and gesturing to the room they were in.
`` And so, you are by far the first soul I have been able to speak with about it so freely..´´
That seemed to be good enough to lift her spirits as some sort of beaming sun started to shone over her shoulders.
``Hehehee…., of course I am the first of your choices…! Its only natural that people seek me out, looking after my favor and power...for I am the brilliant starlight that brings light into the´´
That was reeeeeeeeally not what he had implied…, also, someone had a big ego.
And it was bigger than his...!
``So, I take that you have an opinion on the boy?´´
He immediately said, cutting of the sails of whatever ship may have set sail from the girls over inflated ego if he hadn't.
``Eh…..well, yes...and no´´
``What?´´
``Can we speak about something else….?´´
Ok, this was getting ridiculous..!
``Its not very sport-like to change the subject when it has just been spoken..´´
``Its not very knightly to press a lady on a certain matter..´´
[you little shit…! I am going to hang you from your entrails when I pull them out your eye socke-] ``I suppose that's true, what can it be done…though it would pain me to act or behave wrong in his presence when he comes. It would even make my arranges be for naught...´´
``T-that means that my travel to the princess castle would be derailed...?´´
Was that really the firs thing that came to her mind? Really..?
…
…
This kingdom was doomed.
His silence and the way his calm demeanor broke into a grimace were in tandem confused as a confirmation of those unfounded fears that were taking hold of the little girl.
``No! No, nononononono...I will tell you everything!´´
Zenon sighed, raising a hand and pinching the bridge of his nose. As much as he had wanted to hear those very same words a few minutes ago, they felt cheap now.
What were the odds that nothing useful would be said in the following five minutes? They were not good.
However, they were the only ones he got….
``So?´´
``Well, he likes to study books from the library from dusk to dawn´´
[So he has a thirst for knowledge?] I take he is the academic type then...´´
``He goes out on his own to the towns and cities around the mansion´´
[He is looking for something? Studying the terrain?] ``He must be trying to get a good grasp of Midgards culture..´´
``And…´´
``And..?´´
``Well, he is…..complicated´´
``In what way?´´
``W-well, its just that..´´
``Yes?´´
``He..´´
``Yes?´´
``He acts like an old man!´´
..
..
..
..
``Eh?´´ [EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH….!?]
``Thats all I know, please...its the truth!´´
This girl, was really useless… Why had he allowed himself to get his hopes up..?
``Well, perhaps that shows that he is a lot more mature that his age would imply...I suppose that your parents must be really proud to have someone so capable and not be a hazel..´´
He mumbled out through his teeth, though mostly to himself as he tried to keep himself from down right leaving her there and never coming back thanks to his frustration.
``I... guess so..´´
It seemed that there was a hint of jealousy in her tone, a crack in that jovial and stupid voice of hers that been bothering him non stop since she had forgotten to shut that trap of hers when she went on to speak on what she would like to do on the capital..
He knew girls, especially children fed with a silver spoon were prone to forget about reality and speak about a bunch of nonsense, but did he had to suffer through it too..?
Well, it didn't matter...soon she would be out of his hair and he would be back to what he did best. He only had to wait...just a little longer-
Just before he could finish that thought, the door leading inside opened up with a blast as something forcefully made its way in.
The poor thing slamming with abandon against the wall to the point that it almost was left hanging from its hinges, splinters of wood and stone mixed with a puff of smoke flying all over the flace by the sheer force of the motion the wooden frame had been pushed, all by product of the blurry form of a person that stumbled forward….and then tripped over his feet a second after entering.
Zenon could not get a good view of he or her, could not managed to get the face or the color of their eyes…, something that should not have been possible for the likes of him, had not a heavy weight hovered above his head just then…
Making his thoughts sparse….and slow, only allowing him to be witness of the way this intruder came in and slammed his face onto to cold floor with a loud, sick "pop"….

….Somewhere else….

There was a saying that if one could not wander to the mountain, the mountain should wander to you..
She didn't have a mountain to move, nor she thought it could even if the situation presented to her right now, but the meaning of those words had not been lost to her...
Ocean blue eyes wandered over the green flushes of leafs on the ground, and the shades the trees around her covered the ground she stood, taking in their shapes and the roughness of their form and texture as she ventured in the deep foliage of the forest..
Her feet light and nimble, avoiding the dirt paths and choosing other ways to venture without leaving a single traces to be track down, all while covering under the cool touch of shades of the foliage before her as fallen leafs hovered and fell around her, clad under the bright, yet dying light of the twilight…
Almost as if she was traversing in a world of light and dark.
Yes.., she had learned from the Dark wisdom of those words. Words, that perhaps had been said in passing in a given moment, they clearly had been said for her to figure out what to do with them afterwards on her own time by her own initiative.
Like a parent that had taught their first born about how to light a fire and the dangers it posed, ultimately deciding to let the child to adapt itself with the tools and work at their own pace instead of hovering all over the place and cuddle them each step of the way…
Even if briefly, she missed his visual presence in her world yet Alpha understood what it was wanted of her, what was expected of her...and as such, she did just that.
Succeed….because failure was not an option.
And this time, she would not do so in her lonesome...
Though there was still much to explore and use in the abandoned village like housing, making tools...or just training in an urban area for future pitch battles, sometimes….it was worth the effort to walk out in to the wilds and bring a different outlook and experience both to her...and her new companions.
She took a brief side glance to regard them once more, a little thing of a smile that did not become complete as her eyes found them treading the same path as she had although with a bit more difficulty..
Reaper had been right. She was not alone….and she would never be for as long as the stars shone.
And yet it pained her to acknowledge the happiness those words brought with them, and why would they not? They were two girls, two young girls that could not be older than ten. People that like her had suffered the same fate of been lost under the cruel touch of the curse…
Betrayed.
Abandoned..
And left for dead...
Should she be happy that they had to go through that to find that kinship with them? No, but she did so anyway. And watching them now, looking at the way they walked with curiosity instead of fear, the way they bore with pride their outfits of their new lifes instead of chains or dirty rags made the weight over her shoulders a little less heavier.
The looks in their eyes, they were just so full of life….that it was contagious.
Speaking of which, she had taken noticed of the way Beta, her childhood friend from her home village was looking at her. With those lips stiff and her fingers fidgeting with one another. Clearly unsure about something that she was about to make known in the following seconds after she regained her breath
``Lady... Alpha..´´
``Yes, Beta...?´´
``I... have a question..´´
One of Alphas brows rose at that. It was not unusual for the silver haired girl to ask for permission for many things, though she wished she treated her with a bit more familiarity...
``What is it...? Something wrong? You feeling sick..?´´
Looking at the silver haired girl it was clear that it was not the latter…, but one could never be too sure. The last thing she wanted to face was a sickness when she was yet studying how to heal small wounds.
Luckily and much to her relief her friend immediately shook her head vehemently. A small smile of appreciation warping on Betas lips as she placed a small hand over her chest.
``N-no! Nothing of the sort..´´
``Are you sure..?´´
``Yes, is just that I was curious about our task..I-I mean...we have been wandering for a while, but what, what is our purpose here?´´
[Ah, so it was that…]
To have questions about something that you did not understood was to be expected…
However, if that was the case then Alpha was a bit surprised that it had taken Beta this long to actually voice those thoughts out since she had not spoken at all back in the village when she had given them that brief debriefing.
And the signs like fidgeting fingers and wayward glances had been happening more and more as they ventured deeper.
Had she made a mistake? Had her explanations felt short..? There could be a myriad of things that may had happened between the span of time that had taken them reach this location of the forest and what they had discussed...
However, she had the feeling that it did not had to do with what she had said…, but rather, what she hadn't. And if one were to take into consideration Betas mindset it was far more easier to understand why she thought that.
Beta...for lack of the better word, was more of a follower than a leader when it came to decision making. That did not meant that she was not capable of coming out with good ideas, she had no doubt that if her friend was asked she would think something interesting.
However, that was a part of problem…
She had to be asked, for it was not something that came out on its own, adding to that fact the presence of not clear instructions with an apparent clear end goal, well….
Still…., the silver haired girl should have known by now that she should not be worried about asking questions when she did not know things. That was how the chain of command was meat to be..and NOT with one commanding and the others following blindly without even a second thought.
At least, that was how Alpha had interpreted what Reaper wanted to do things. And to be honest…..she would not deny that she liked it better that way.
It made the relation between her and the rest more closer.
``Following this trail will lead us to where we are needed to be...´´
``B-but...why are wandering over the river? Are we here to pick some fishes for dinner...? Or...is it something else?´´
She nodded. ``Partially.., I also have other intentions that I wish to accomplish while we are here...´´
``Other intentions? Wait.., you mean this is going to be another kind of special training? I...don't see any targets here Lady Alpha. The only people here is us...´´
Beta was not wrong…, but she was not right either.
``You would be correct in both assumptions…, Beta. The truth is that I thought that perhaps we could do both at the same time…, and our targets are here, we just don't see them yet..´´
She explained as she pointed at the streaming waters up ahead.
``Training...and fishing..?´´
``More like fishing is our training today.., but yes..´´
``W-what? How...? I have never heard anything about that nature before...´´
Her friend exclaimed surprise, a hand raise to cover her mouth.
``Killing is similar to fishing. One must be patient and act rapidly only when the chance is given and is wise to do so. Otherwise your prey will slip past your fingers...and you will have nothing to show for it´´
Alpha said, making sure to parrot what she had heard her Lord say when she too had asked the same question. If history did not repeat itself, it surely liked to rimed.
``Oh….that sounds very deep and wise, one can not help but nod in affirmation when hearing those words..´´
This time it was Gamma who spoke, the third of their group and the last one to reach her given her poor if not down right lack of physical attributes. A detail that she had started to take notice through these last few days. Something that could be dangerous in the future if not corrected...
Making her tag along with them out here could do her good…..as-well clean whatever misunderstanding they had a few hours ago back in the storage room.
The memory of the brunette begging on her knees to be forgiven was not one she would like to repeat.
However, before Alpha could utter a single word, Beta did so instead, taking a step forward and clutching her hands together as light seemed to spark in those blue eyes not unlike her own.
``Did Master Reaper said that? Is it dark wisdom..?´´
Her lips started to pursed upwards, the ghost of a smile warping around the edges of her mouth.
``Yes, if we are to hone our skills, we must first steel our senses and perceptions of the world around us. Only then we might be able to cut a path for ourselves..´´
``R-really? I need to write this down...´´
Mused Beta as she seemed to pull out a quill and a small notebook from thin air and started to write down what had been immediately.
It was rather amusing to see at the young, usually skittish silver haired girl switch from her shy shell to full blown out enthusiastic at the mentioning of their Lord.
Of course it was not like Beta had any dislike towards Reaper, she was...just not used yet to the fact that their Lord was more akin to a GOD of death than a mere mortal when it came to outside appearances.
Surely, in time she would get it over with when she realized how kind he actually was. Still, she was content to see that at least the silver haired elf had found something to focus on and enjoy.
``If our Lord say it, then we should put it to use immediately…, but how are we going to do catch our prey? Fishing is not something that one can do with ease without experience...and I don't think we will be able to manage with our hands..´´
Gamma was quick to point out already certain aspects of the task at hand that they apparently lacked while also not adding to it what she actually meant about it. Mostly related at the fact that she doubted she would be able to catch much if anything..
Alpha however had been ready for that.
``Don't worry, I came prepare for the occasion..´´
And just as she said that, a pair of sticks appeared in her hands, a black though at time whitish substance morphing out from her hands into a slender and small sized spears that girls her size would probably wield with no trouble.
Sharp and nimble, perfect for what she had intended them to use.., clearly capable to thrust through flesh and bone..and perhaps even stone.
A good result for a first attempt.., though she had the nagging feeling that had she used it for something larger and more complex...certain problems would have arose given the strange properties her slime suit seemed to have.
At least, it was a localized problem since only she seemed to have it. Strange...
Anyway, right now it was not the time to ponder about details that were not consequential to the mission as she focused on what truly mattered. Now, armed with one spear each….they started to tread the shallow waters of the river.
As-per her instructions, they wandered a few meters away from the other in a line, slowly...yet ever steadily. Trying to cover most of the empty space that they could..but never too far away that they would not be able to come to the aid of the other.
The river continued to flow as they walked through it, and though it was not large and the terrain was rather flat...that did not mean that with their small sizes they would not be able to be drag away down stream.
It was more than just walk and hunt…, but making sure that their grip on the ground and their stance did not waver in the slightest as the current grew in strength, that they followed the small, ever slippery silhouettes of their targets yet not ignoring the world around them.
Perhaps they would even meet a monster or creature in the process, either by happenstance as it attempted to find some water to drink, or by the noise they were making as they walked up the stream.
It was...improbable, but not impossible..., and she would do well in remembering that. However, nothing of the sort happened.
Their slow, steady steps were merely followed and responded by the soft breezes howling over the treetops and the mewling of the water sliding down the valley..if one were to ignore the "plop, plop, plop" sound the three of them were making.
Sometimes the girls muttered under their breath how even though their slime suits protected them from getting wet, still felt the coolness of the waters brushing against them..or perhaps when they stepped over a loose rock and found their stability threaten for a moment..
Looking down, Alpha had come to realize that the waters were clean.., almost crystal. The slim, ever moving thin layers of liquid not only reflecting her visage with almost perfect clarity...but revealing for anyone to see the sand, the rocks and seaweeds that made for the humid soil they were standing over.
And there…, hiding in the shadows, their shapes ever moving from left to right….were their targets.
Small, slimy things that seemed to tried to avoid her glare almost as if they were aware of it somehow. Some were big, others a bit smaller, the size of her fingers.
The grip on her spear tightened, her eyes closed slightly, her lips stiffen now into thin slits carved into her face.
Yes, they were there…
It was not the same as throwing a javelin or using a sword to hunt something on land, something larger and clearly far easier to pin point where it would next move.
However, she would not allow that deter her...
Alpha did not speak, she did not move.., did not blink, almost stopping from breathing all entirely on the spot as if the very thought from doing so may cause ripples in the waters and alert her prey from her as she prepared herself.
Her unblinking eyes trailing and searching for each and every shape under the waters, analyzing their move patterns, categorizing them by their shapes and colors...and finally selecting those she wanted to attack..and the best way to do it.
To fish...was to kill.
To kill...was to fish.
And she would not fail.
Never.
There was a sparkle of magic in her eyes as purpose glowed under their depths, a tingling in her fingers as they itched to be put to use…, a shallow, insignificant breeze of air slipping through her teeth as she too another breath.
And then... just like that, she was gone.
Her body a golden blur of light that flew rather than dashed in a mad beeline at a breathtaking speed towards her targets. The waters she had been standing not even able to recognize the change in the pressure or motion until a few seconds later Creating as a result a rather large gush of wind and splashing water...clearly disturbing the waters in a grand manner.
But by then it was too late.
The distance that separated her with her targets became nothing in a second, the world turning for a brief moment in just a black tunnel where nothing else existed but what she had set her gaze upon.
Her hand thrusting forward, the air particles seemingly screaming in silence as the sharp edge of the spear lanced through it..and then the consequential sound of flesh and muscle been pierced followed.
…
…
…
Alpha took a moment to breath, slowly standing up right...a pearl of sweat sliding down her forehead, but a ghost of a smile was now in her lips as she spied with a side glance the column of nine fishes that she had managed to lance through all at once.
Then the smile became strained.
Nine was a good number…, but she had been aiming at ten.
Taking a quick side glance to the side, the first one she noticed was Beta.
Her childhood friend was trying to hunt on her own, her brows furrowed in concentration, chewing on her lip as her azure eyes tried to follow the slippery shapes that moved underneath the waters…... and then, with a small like war-cry, Beta thrust with all her might her spear into the waters.
A splash and then a small like thud followed rapidly.
A look of joy spread over Betas features, clearly static of the prospect of success…, pulling the stick out of the water swiftly to see her prize…..only to bring forth a boot from underneath the waters..
To say that Beta seemed to shrunk in a thick, black aura of depression would have been to put it lighly, and yet...Alpha could not help but shook her head in amusement.
Really? A boot of all things..?
Gamma however was…
Gamma..
..
Alpha had to take a double take to even try to understand what she was seeing because every single pore of her body refused to believe what her eyes were showing her..
It was not that Gamma was doing it wrong, which she was..., but rather the way she was doing it that had at least left her baffle beyond words..
When she had lanced through the waters to catch her targets, she had done so with precision and speed..and with a small shred of elegance.
Well, it seemed that of the three...Gamma seemed to use a fourth option in ample spades…
Raw sheer force.
It was...excessive, brutally and blatantly show of force that was surprising to behold in a girl with such a...slender figure…to the point that from an outsider view would appear that the raven haired elf was literally trying to murder the hell out of the river itself.
And was she muttering "fish fish fish" all the time? No, that could not be right..., right? Right..!?
..
..
Looking at what she accomplished and then back at the two, she felt the joy been slowly drained out of her body, leaving behind a dreadful sense of foreboding...
She sighed. It seemed that they were going to need to come here many more times...if they were to actually do this in the RIGHT way..
``I wonder how Reaper is doing right now...´´
He surely was working on something very important.
º
….Back to the mansion….
º
Alright…..that was NOT how Zenon had envision the beginning of their meeting would start with.
Not at all, not even in his wildest dreams...because who in their right mind would have been prepared for the scene that had played before him?
It was still hard to understand how that had came to pass…and a lot more trying to picture it given how fast it had been all.
However, there was no mistaken the identity of the boy who was still face flat on the ground.
That...was him.
The famed, mysterious Koldarrd Pendragon.
The boy that had appear from thin air and made itself at home in one of the most powerful and well known houses of Midgard. The child from afar that had just bested a hundred knights with on his own, the one the world for a few days was turning around..
And he was not moving
…
…
[Is he dead?]
``Is he….dead?´´
He could hear the girl mutter through her lips the very same question that had made its way into his head. The girl clearly more taken aback by the situation that he ever would.
To be honest he had been almost tempted to discourage those silly notions from the girls head, but the stillness that the boy was showing...was hard to come up with a good reason for it.
However, if they only could see what and who had caused the newest addition to the family to fall like that they would have thought the scene had come out from the heated specks of imagination of an old pervert.
A small mercy for the one that had fallen victim to it, though it may not mean much right now..

Eyes emanating an aura of danger so thick that for a brief moment, he had unconsciously gripped the handle of his sword.
His face lock in time with what could only be prelude of a grimace that was barely kept away from taking over, showing with great clarity the sharpness of his jaw and the way the muscles of his neck and face bulged as he was clearly clenching his teeth.
