Chapter 63

The first match of the Top 4 is between Lillie and Kiawe. Olivia acts as the referee, announcing, "We're kicking off today's events with the first semifinal match! Give it your all, pushing yourselves to become better Trainers! I expect nothing less from both of you!"

As it's a 2-on-2 battle, Kiawe commands his Marowak into action, while Lillie calls upon her Samurott. Alice remarks, "Samurott, huh..."

"Yeah, that same goofy one," I reply.

Kiawe takes the initiative with Marowak's Bonemerang attack, but Samurott swiftly dodges and retaliates with a powerful Aqua Jet. Marowak counters with an Iron Head, but Samurott withstands the blow and retaliates with a Razor Shell attack. The battle intensifies as Marowak attempts a Flare Blitz maneuver, narrowly dodging Samurott's Hydro Pump. However, Samurott capitalizes on the opening, striking Marowak with a critical Megahorn, ultimately securing victory for Lillie in this thrilling showdown.

Kiawe's second Pokemon is Turtonator. As the match commences, Turtonator faces off against Samurott's calculated strikes. Samurott initiates with a powerful Razor Shell, but Turtonator shields itself with Dragon Tail, thwarting the attack and retaliating with a forceful swipe, sending Samurott crashing into a wall. Recovering swiftly, Samurott braces for Turtonator's follow-up Dragon Tail, using its Fury Cutter move to offset the impact, causing both Pokémon to stagger backward.

As the battle intensifies, Turtonator engulfs Samurott in a searing Flamethrower, prompting Samurott with the damage. Responding with intense Revenge, Samurott charges headlong into Turtonator's Shell Trap, catching Lillie off guard.

"Good move, but you see..." Lillie smirks. "It's not enough to stop Samurott." Then she continues to have Samurott use Revenge. Kiawe strategically orders Turtonator to endure, prompting it to unleash a potent Focus Blast, surprising both trainers. Turtonator continues its assault with another Focus Blast, overpowering Samurott's resilience and ultimately securing victory against Lillie's Samurott.

"Type Null, it's your turn!" Lillie exclaimed, stunning everyone as she sent out the Pokémon, Type: Null. Lillie has Type: Null unleash an Air Slash, but Turtonator counters swiftly with Flamethrower. Type: Null follows up with Crush Claw, prompting Turtonator to use Dragon Tail in defense. Lillie orders another Crush Claw, and Turtonator attempts to evade with Shell Smash, causing Type: Null's claws to embed in the battlefield. As Kiawe prepares for an Inferno Overdrive Z-Move, Type: Null breaks free from its helmet, revealing Silvally beneath.

"Wow... it evolves!" Lillie gasps in delight.

Silvally: The Synthetic Pokemon: Normal Type. Evolve from Type: Null with high friendship. Its trust in its partner is what awakens it. This Pokémon is capable of changing its type, a flexibility that is well displayed in battle.

"Silvally!" Lillie quickly tosses a Fire Memory to Silvally, allowing it to emerge unharmed. The ingenious strategy surprises the crowd and Kiawe, while Turtonator shows signs of exhaustion.

"No way!" Kiawe gasps.

"Now Silvally is shrouded in a crimson garment of fire. There's no flame that can harm Silvally now." Lillie smiles. She commands another Crush Claw from Silvally. Despite Turtonator's attempt to deflect with Dragon Tail, it gets stuck, wobbling before collapsing on the battlefield. Rushing over, Olivia declares Lillie as the victor of the round.

"Remarkable as always, Lillie," Serena comments.

"Absolutely," Alice remarks.

I observe Gladion smiling at Lillie, prompting a smile from me as well.

Guzma and my battle is next. Nanu is the referee, and Guzma says, "Wanna see what destruction looks like? Here it is in human form—it's your boy Guzma!"

"Let's see about that." I say.

Guzma sends in his Scizor, and I call out my Incineroar, starting with a Flamethrower. Scizor responds with a U-turn, hitting Incineroar and causing an early substitution. While Incineroar executes Flamethrower, Scizor retreats to its Poké Ball, and out comes Golisopod, shielding itself from the attack. Golisopod strikes with Liquidation, landing the hit. It tries again, but Incineroar dodges, countering with a Darkest Lariat on Golisopod. That move makes Golisopod lose its Liquidation attack and it retaliates with a Throat Chop, knocking Incineroar away.

I command Incineroar to use Flamethrower, but Golisopod slices through it with Liquidation. Incineroar manages to dodge the next Liquidation and launch a Flare Blitz. Golisopod fires Pin Missile, but Incineroar charges through, hitting its target. Golisopod's weakened, so I have Incineroar use Fire Fang. Golisopod attempts a Throat Chop, but Incineroar grabs onto Golisopod and hits back with a powerful Revenge.

Incineroar rushes with another Flare Blitz, but Golisopod counters with Pin Missile, hitting and interrupting my attack. Golisopod goes for another Liquidation, clashing with Incineroar's Revenge, and we both slide backward. I unleash a massive Blast Burn, and Golisopod opts for an Emergency Exit, retreating to its Poké Ball. Scizor reemerges and gets hit by the full force of Blast Burn. Guzma is devastated at Scizor's fall, and even more upon hearing Nanu declare Scizor's fainting.

"Golisopod! Why are you acting this way? You could've finished this by yourself!" Guzma says with slight anger. "Now how are you going to fix this?"

Then he turns to me, "Your Pokemon looks tired, this will be done by this second." He orders Golisopod to use Poison Jab, and it poisons Incineroar. Golisopod follows up with a Throat Chop, but despite being afflicted by poison, Incineroar manages to evade the attack. Incineroar retaliates with Fire Fang, latching onto Golisopod's arm and engulfing it in searing flames. Golisopod shakes Incineroar off and delivers a powerful kick, dealing significant damage and ultimately defeating Incineroar.

Sending out my second Pokemon, Pikachu. Guzma initiates with Poison Jab. However, Pikachu swiftly slides between Golisopod's legs, dodging the attack. Golisopod counters Pikachu's Iron Tail with Liquidation, slamming Pikachu to the ground using Throat Chop. Pikachu manages to stand, Guzma commands Golisopod to use Pin Missile. Pikachu shields himself with Electroweb before retaliating with Thunderbolt, blocked by Golisopod's claws. Anticipating this, I instruct Pikachu to strike Golisopod's legs with Iron Tail, toppling it over, and then electrify it midair with Thunderbolt.

In the midst of the battle, I charge up my Z-Ring, Pikachu launches Gigavolt Havoc, but Golisopod manages to endure the Z-Move. Guzma commands Golisopod to use Pin Missile, yet Pikachu evades with Quick Attack. Pikachu strikes back with Iron Tail, but Golisopod counters with Liquidation. Pikachu tries Electroweb, torn apart by Golisopod's sharp claws, and faces Poison Jab. Dodging it, Pikachu retaliates with Iron Tail, colliding with Liquidation, ultimately defeating Golisopod.

"You're a tough one, I'll give ya that! I have fun battlin' you, even if I can't beat you down!" Guzma remarks. "Who knows what the Alolan winds will bring? Next time we meet, I'm counting on you to test how strong I've gotten."

As Guzma is about to depart, Professor Kukui approaches him, exchanging a few words before Guzma takes his leave. Their conversation remains private, their expressions and tones suggesting a mutual understanding or perhaps a buried history between the two trainers.

Later that night, Alice brings up the upcoming battle, saying, "Looks like you're up against Lillie again in the finals."

"Yeah, the last time that happened was during the Sinnoh League, right?" Serena adds.

"But that match ended in a tie. I really want to determine who among us is the strongest," Lillie remarks.

That night, to our surprise, both my parents and Lillie's parents show up, having come to watch our finals. Excitedly, we showcase our Pokémon to them, and our Meltan begins spinning its nut, emitting intriguing sound waves that draw in other Meltan buddies.

"Meltan? What's going on?" Lillie asks, clearly puzzled.

Suddenly, hordes of Meltan emerge from the sea, flocking towards Ash's Meltan, gathering around it in an unexpected formation. They initiate a synchronized dance, and as they do, a potent electrical surge starts to build, causing them to glow brighter and brighter. "It's... evolving..." Serena gasps in astonishment at the unexpected spectacle unfolding before us.

"My goodness, it's evolved into a Melmetal, this unique Pokemon has been mentioned in several ancient writings," exclaims my Dad, awe evident in his voice. "Its base stats are comparable to a Garchomp, and it's learned a new move called Double Iron Bash."

The revelation of Melmetal's evolution and its powerful attributes leaves us all in awe and excitement, marveling at its impressive capabilities and the addition of this remarkable new move to its arsenal.

Melmetal: The Hex Nut Pokemon: Steel Type. Evolve from Meltan with the help of 400 Meltan. Revered long ago for its capacity to create iron from nothing, for some reason it has come back to life after 3,000 years.

The following day arrives, and Lillie and I stand at opposite ends of the battlefield. Lillie takes the initiative, declaring, "Let's go, Silvally!"

In response, I make my choice and decide to send out Melmetal to face off against Silvally.

"The first move wins the match." I say as Melmetal is trying to seize the initiative. Observing Melmetal's determination, I command a Double Iron Bash. Melmetal, fueled by confidence, flexes its muscles, swiftly spinning around to launch an attack, finally striking Silvally on the second attempt.

"Incredible power..." Lillie mutters.

I follow it up with another command for Double Iron Bash, but Silvally counters with an Air Slash, gracefully leaping aside to evade the attack.

"It's got power, but it's worthless if it doesn't connect." Lillie comments.

Undeterred, Melmetal spins once more, prompting Lillie to order a Crush Claw. Reacting swiftly, I call for a Flash Cannon, which lands a devastating blow, sending Silvally crashing to the ground.

"That last one almost did it, keep it up! Melmetal!" I command.

Lillie opts for another strategy by having Silvally move in a zig-zag pattern to confuse Melmetal. The technique works as planned, and Silvally manages to land a Crush Claw, leaving Melmetal reeling from the strike.

Lillie takes out the Fighting Memory and inserts it into Silvally, she says, "Fight fire with fire and claws with claws! Now, we're going to fight fists to fists! Silvally! Transform into Fighting Type!"

As Silvally approaches with a Multi-Attack, I command Melmetal to respond with a Flash Cannon. However, Melmetal's attack misses its mark, and it is knocked about by Silvally's assault. Melmetal regains its balance and attempts another Double Iron Bash. Silvally keeps its distance and lands an Air Slash on its opponent. Despite the hit, Melmetal retaliates, sending Silvally backward with a second strike. I order a Flash Cannon, and Melmetal, despite its visible exhaustion, follows through. However, Silvally lands its Multi-Attack first, while Melmetal's attack suffers a delay before collapsing in defeat.

I recall Melmetal, opting to send Pikachu onto the field. Pikachu dashes forward with a Quick Attack, but Silvally effortlessly dodges by tilting its head to the side. I follow it up with an Iron Tail, yet Silvally catches the attack using its Crush Claw. Lillie commands an Air Slash, but Pikachu narrowly evades it, executing a Quick Attack to distance himself from his opponent. As Silvally corners Pikachu, I instruct him to use Electroweb, which unfortunately fails to ensnare Silvally. Pikachu launches another Electroweb and, utilizing the added momentum, charges toward Silvally, landing a direct Iron Tail. The unexpected rebound knocks Silvally out of the match.

Lillie sighs, "Of course Pikachu is strong. But I have someone who can help me. Lycanroc!"

To my surprise, the Midnight form Lycanroc was on the stands with Absol and Snowy? It jumps to the battlefield and I know something is not right.

"Use Night Daze," Lillie commands. I quickly realize what's happening. It must be Zoroark's Illusion ability at play.

"Zoroark, you won't be able to fool me. You've been my partner since Unova," I assert, seeing through the Illusion tactic. Pikachu's Thunderbolt causes the illusion to break.

Zoroark uses Night Daze, but Pikachu counters swiftly with Thunderbolt. Lillie follows up with Shadow Claw, and I command Pikachu to block it with Iron Tail. Zoroark persists with Shadow Claw, eventually landing a strike on Pikachu. Despite the hit, Pikachu shakes it off, leaping upward to evade another Night Daze. However, Zoroark lashes out with Shadow Claw as Pikachu descends towards the field.

Lillie says, "All right!" She activates her Z Ring, commanding Zoroark to unleash the Never-Ending Nightmare. The Z-Move engulfs the arena in darkness, eerie hands emerging from the ground and reaching for Pikachu.

I urge Pikachu to try and evade using Quick Attack, but the multitude of hands proves impossible to dodge. Realizing Pikachu can't escape the Never-Ending Nightmare, I decide to counter with a Z-Move of our own. Using Breakneck Blitz, Pikachu charges through the wall of hands, striking Zoroark. Despite my move, Lillie's Z-Move still connects, resulting in a massive explosion that knocks both Pokémon out, leaving me and Lillie with one Pokémon each remaining.

"Again?" I mutter as the memories of Pikachu and Togekiss having a double knockout flash through our minds.

I remark, "Lillie, you and your Pokémon are incredibly in sync, you know! It was truly awesome."

Lillie responds, "Only you would be able to handle the Never-Ending Nightmare in that manner."

Both of us share a laugh before we decide to send out our final Pokémon, Lillie's Midnight Form Lycanroc against my Dusk Form Lycanroc.

Lillie and I both start off with Stone Edge, nullifying each other's efforts. I command my Lycanroc to use Accelerock, but Lillie's Lycanroc intercepts with Counter, knocking mine away.

"We've got to do something about that Counter," I comment.

Lillie then goes for another Stone Edge, which my Lycanroc manages to dodge by swiftly running alongside the attack before attempting to use Bite. I halt my Lycanroc's movement as I notice it readying another Counter. Lillie switches tactics and commands a new Stone Edge, but my Lycanroc evades it skillfully.

"All right! We'll just do it our way! Attack, attack, and attack some more!" "You're not getting the upper hand!"

Dodging another incoming Stone Edge, my Lycanroc prepares to strike with an Accelerock. Lillie orders another Stone Edge, but my Lycanroc leaps onto the boulders and manages to hit Lillie's.

"Only Ash would come up with something like this." Lillie smiles. "But he won't get away with the same thing twice!"

Her Lycanroc grins, countering with an uppercut that my Lycanroc can't avoid due to its momentum.

Despite taking heavy blows, both Lycanroc persists in the fight. Lillie instructs her Lycanroc to boost its power with Swords Dance, then follows up with Outrage. My Lycanroc retaliates with Stone Edge, but Lillie's Lycanroc smashes through it with its Outrage. However, after its fierce attack, Lillie's Lycanroc succumbs to confusion. I command my Lycanroc to use Bite, but Lillie's Lycanroc manages to snap out of its confusion by biting its own paw, landing a hit with Counter.

"I've learned how to break the Confusion with that, I'm going to win this time." Lillie smiles.

Lillie calls for Stone Edge again, and I have my Lycanroc chomp through the obstacles. Her Lycanroc repeats the attack, prompting mine to use Accelerock to break through. It charges at Lillie's Lycanroc, which immediately responds with Counter. As it takes the hit, I instruct my Lycanroc to unleash its own Counter, sending Lillie's Lycanroc crashing into the stadium wall, ultimately defeating it in the process.

I can't believe it... I've won against Lillie. Seeing her pout a little before offering a smile, she says, "You won, congratulations, Ash."

"Thanks, Lillie." We share a warm hug, both of us expressing genuine sportsmanship and camaraderie before making a promise to battle each other again in the finals.

As the award ceremony commences, Professor Kukui appears in his Masked Royal persona to present me with the cup. "Congratulations, you deserve it," he says with an air of pride.

"Thank you so much," I reply, feeling both honored and grateful for the recognition.

Then, with a theatrical flair befitting his Masked Royal persona, he addresses the gathered audience. "Now, four Trainers! Every Pokémon League in every region all over the world features four fantastic Trainers called the Elite Four. Here in Alola, too, we've got four Trainers all lined up for our Pokémon League. I expect you to show me some intense moves and real heart-stopping battles in there!"

"Absolutely, I can't wait," I reply with enthusiasm, my smile widening at the thought of the challenges ahead. I'm left wondering about the Elite Four and eagerly anticipate the thrilling battles that await in the Pokémon League.

Here is a new chapter, and you can see that we wrap up the Alola League, but there is still the Post Game and I hope you like this chapter.
