Hey there!
I write this story as essentially a 're-writing' of the series Interihence Cycle, better known as Eragon, as a form of AU/Fanfic.
So, what does that mean?
Well, first of all, I'm going to preface the explanation by saying that this story is not for everyone. Some may take offense and consider what I'm doing is lazy and uninventive. This is mainly for those who want to re-read the same series, with a few core changes.
This project of mine will alter a few core aspects of the series. The biggest is that I will replace Eragon as the main protagonist with a female lead, an OC of mine. The same goes for Saphira, where instead of the blue egg stolen by the Varden, it was the red one; Thorn's, yet the dragon within will be different. Hence, different personalities, dialogues, and interactions with the world around them.
Another is that I will rewrite a lot of the descriptions in my own style, as I feel like there are a lot of instances in the first book Eragon that awkwardly fall short of my expectations, something which thankfully wasn't shared with the other four books (Including Murtagh which just recently released).
Apart from all that, there isn't much I plan to change setting or plot-wise, at least starting out. I'll go chapter by chapter just like in the book and even directly use large portions of the author's descriptions where there isn't anything I'd change. If I do end up changing something big, I'll edit this line out.
Honestly, I'm only doing this as a hobby and distraction to keep me busy in my final year of college between classes, as a method of holding onto my sanity for a while longer, while also getting the chance to compare my writing skills to an actual accomplished, published author, and improving.
I love this series and I adore its core concept, yet I currently don't feel like I could do it justice if I start out writing on my own. Hence I use the books themselves as a crutch as I learn. I claim no title of originality or creativity from this, all credit goes to Christopher Paolini. This is merely a stepping stone for me to learn until I can fly on my own.
If along the way I manage to entertain you, then I count that as an encouraging bonus.
Hence, if you decide to read this, I ask you to leave feedback on what I did right and what I need to improve on.
And, thank you for reading.
