A/N: Just attempting random things at this point…

OOOOOOOOOOOO

Calli was standing at the front of the room, letting pictures of herself be taken. Victor stood at the back, watching her and the room at large. Logan hadn't shown up. Not even for their girl's big night.

Why does she put up with him after all of the letdowns? Victor wondered.

His eyes caught Calli's and she made a face at him. Victor smirked, flashing his fangs in response. Calli smiled and looked away, color lighting up her cheeks.

She's something else…

Calli moved through the crowd, plucking a drink off a passing tray. She moved towards Victor and drew her hand across his chest as she passed him.

And I am hers through it all, Victor thought, taking a hearty swig of his stronger drink before following her.

Calli kicked off her shoes when she made it to the door and walked barefoot out into the night. Her black dress whispered as it brushed over the dew covered grass. Victor followed her across the lawn.

"Sheesh!" Calli exclaimed, pulling her hair free of its decorative prison. "Are we far enough from everyone that being uncivilized is okay?"

Victor smirked. "Not enjoying bumping elbows with the rich and proper, sweetheart?"

Calli shook her head. "Not on any of your remaining nine lives, Tiger. I didn't even want to do all that mumbo jumbo."

"Then why are you here?" Victor asked, watching her sit on a concrete bench.

Calli threw out her hand. "Because publishers demanded that I do all this publicity shit. To sponsor my next book or two dozen." She sipped her drink and made a face. "This tastes awful."

Victor made a small approving sound when she threw the whole glass away. The clinking of expensive glass meeting pavement made him oddly happy.

Calli rubbed her bare arms. "And of course, on a night where I could use all the support possible…the idiot doesn't show up to join us."

Victor's eyes darkened. "Did you really expect him to come to a black tie affair?"

Calli was silent. Victor sat down next to her and tossed his own glass aside.

"You have me, isn't that enough?" he demanded.

"Don't start." Calli looked at him. "You're more than enough, Victor. More than I could have hoped for." She touched his hand. "I knew I could count on you to be here."

"You wanted him here though."

"I wanted both of you here," Calli corrected. "The relationship I have with him is like expecting it to snow every winter. He's only there when he wants to be."

Victor frowned. "Then why do you keep him?"

Calli's brow furrowed. "I'm a sadist."

Victor took her hand and moved closer. "Calli."

Calli leaned into him. "Do I have the right to point out that you look really great in a suit?"

A gentle growl escaped his throat. "It won't survive after tonight."

Calli pouted. "No?"

"No."

"Damn."

Victor smelled her pheromones and know that she was fighting down her libido. That very, very active, demanding libido. Victor breathed in deeply and slid his hand over her thigh.

"Victor," Calli whispered, stiffening slightly. "We shouldn't do this here."

"Afraid, sweetheart?"

Calli bit her bottom lip to silence her moans as he teased her through the flimsy fabric of her dress. Victor smirked triumphantly and captured her lip in a heated kiss…

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Their kisses were more heated as they moved through the doors of Calli's home, hands tearing at each other's clothes. Both were wanting to touch bare skin. Calli's dress was ripped away and the girl cried out as Victor sheathed himself in her.

Victor moved inside her at a rough pace. Calli met his ferocity with ferocity of her own. Victor let out a growl as her nails bit into his flesh. His eyes held hers as he stilled for a moment.

"Want," Calli whispered, her voice heavily laced with lust.

"Want," Victor agreed, flexing his hips.

"Mine," Calli's hand and legs tightened on him.

Victor's lips crashed into hers in a heated kiss again. Hers.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Victor walked out of the house when Logan's truck pulled into the driveway. He stood there on the stoop, half dressed and annoyed as Logan climbed out of the truck. Logan's hazel eyes were bitter when they landed on Victor.

"I need to see Calli," Logan said, his voice low.

"Maybe she doesn't want to see you," Victor growled. "After the shit you pulled last night."

The door opened behind him and Calli stepped out, wearing one of his shirts and little else. Her green eyes darkened as she leaned against the post and regarded Logan.

"Let me guess. You've come to apologize," she said.

Logan took a step forward, but Victor didn't give him anymore ground. "Calli, I should have come to your event last night."

"Oh? You should have?" Calli examined her nails. "You must have forgotten the invitation I gave you. But sure, you should have been there." She looked at Logan coldly. "Why weren't you?"

Logan fell silent.

"Probably lost his date somewhere," Victor growled, disgusted.

"Shut up," Logan snapped, glaring at Victor. "Don't you have somewhere to be?"

"He does, actually," Calli said, alerting Victor. She gestured back at the house. "The shower should be warm enough by now, Victor."

Victor smirked at her mischievous look and moved towards her. Logan moved to the edge of the porch steps.

"Calli?"

"Go away, Logan," Calli ordered, sending him a withering look. "Go home to your other girl."

Victor smirked at the hurt look on Logan's face. He was the one that Calli wanted. Not the other feral.

Victor closed the door on Logan's face for what he hoped was the last time…

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
