Grimm Lands

12 years before the battle of vale

Summer breathed heavily while being battered, bruised, and sporting a bloodied scar over her right eye as she faced Salem. "Did you really think you could beat a being such as me?" the queen of Grimm gloated as the silver-eyed woman fell to her knees. "Shall I dispose of her my goddess?" a crazed scorpion faunas asked. Salem smirked and nodded

Summer closed her eyes knowing she'd failed. Suddenly, the image of a smiling three-year-old ruby and five-year-old Yang flashed in her mind.

As the faunas' tail approached her, summer glared at the witch from behind her messy bangs. Then as if the brother gods above were in her favor, summer swung her ax cutting the stinger off. "My tail!" the faunas wailed out before being killed by the rose huntress.

"Still have some fight in you I see." Salem sneered as Summer stood up haphazardly. "As long as I draw breath. I will fight!" Salem charged at summer intending to kill her.

As she reached the huntress, summer smirked. "Got you!" she snarked before activating her eyes at point blank range making the witch scream in pain.

Salem was flung back towards her throne. "I will not be denied my victory. Not by anyone!" she shrieked blasting summer. The red tipped ravenette grit her teeth in pain, but didn't relent her assault. Instead, she took a step forward and then another.

"Stay away you ignorant pest!" Salem said as her skin began to burn slightly. Summer continued to walk slowly towards the Grimm witch.

Summer growled under her breath. "Salem BEGONE!" she yelled as the room was engulfed in silver light. Salem screamed in pain as she was slowly burnt to nothing but ash.

Summer fell to her knees. "it's over. Now my daughters can live peacefully without ozpin's secret war." She said smiling. The smile however faded as the silver-eyed woman fully collapsed unconscious onto the ground as a mysterious mist began to surround her. When the mist dispersed the unconscious body of Summer Rose was nowhere to be seen.

5 years into the siege

Krieg trooper D-4231 looked over the trench wall looking for any signs of an enemy attack. "Anything trooper?" came a voice. "Nothing yet commissar." D-4231 said looking at the commissar before a bright flash of silver light occurred. "What in the name of the emperor?" the trooper said glancing back into No Man's Land. He gasped silently.

"Commissar. There's a civilian out there." The commissar sighed. "D-4231, there's no…" he turned just in time to see the trooper climb up and over. "You idiot." He growled out before climbing up only for his eyes to see a pile of clothing. Hold on, was that… hair? "By the emperor." He muttered "Trooper." The commissar said gaining D-4231's attention.

"Yes?" he asked. "I'll get the apothecary; you get that civilian here." the Krieg trooper nodded and continued to crawl as more Krieg troopers mounted the wall; ready to provide cover when D-4231 began his return to the trench. The trooper, however, was unaware of the events that would soon follow.

Remnant's Death Korps

Summer groaned as she came to. She expected to find herself still in Salem's throne room. Instead, she found herself in what appeared to be an underground bunker and heard unknown voices. "Can you please be quiet? My head's throbbing." She slurred out. Everything went dead silent. "thank you." She muttered before things came into focus.

Summer's eyes widened slightly seeing 2 strangely dressed men (one of which was wearing an old-style gas mask) and a hulking suit of armor looking at her. The two humans were wearing old styled army uniforms. Two approached her. "How are feeling?" the armored one asked. Based on how his armor was colored, summer assumed the one asking was a medic or a doctor. "Sore all over," The silver eyed woman slowly sat up with the armored medic's help. "But alive." Summer frowned and touched the right side of her face.

"Gauze?" she pondered out loud. "you had a very deep cut over your right eye. I cleaned it so it wouldn't get infected. somehow your eye survived and won't need to be replaced. Unfortunately, it will leave a scar." The medic said.

"May I ask why you were out in the middle of a warzone Miss?" the one that appeared to be a military officer asked. "Warzone…? No. that can't be right. Last thing I remember was being in a castle." The officer and armored medic looked at one another.

"Ma'am. The only structures you'll find here on Vraks will be in ruins." The officer said. "Vraks?" Summer questioned before bolting for the door. "Miss, I haven't cleared you yet." The medic said.

The masked soldier took hold of her in an attempt to keep her from leaving.. Summer made eye contact with him. Face to mask and that's when her semblance kicked in.

FLASHBACK START

Summer stood in a devastated battlefield looking around. "Where am I?" she thought before hearing voices. Turning around she saw the same trooper only he was laying in the mud.

"Trooper." The soldier looked behind him and summer followed his gaze revealing the speaker to be the military officer. "Yes?" the trooper asked the officer "I'll get the apothecary; you get that civilian here." the soldier nodded and continued his crawl towards whatever his objective was.

"Apothecary? That's an old name for a medical practician." Summer mused before following the crawling soldier. She looked in the direction of his goal and her eyes widened.

Laying in the dirt was… herself. Battered, and bleeding slightly. The trooper soon reached her unconscious body. To her slight confusion, summer watched the trooper peering over her.

Summer frowned. "He better not be a.." She began to fume only to see him nod and slowly get into a crouch. He hooked both arms under hers and proceeded to drag her back to where he had come, glancing backwards every so often.

FLASHBACK END

Summer blinked twice and looked at the trooper holding her. "You brought me here. didn't you?" she said as the officer took hold of her. The soldier then resumed his motionless stance. "Let's get you back to the bed." The officer said.

For some reason summer didn't want to be separated from the trooper. "can he help me back to bed." She asked the officer "Who?" the officer asked. Summer motioned towards the motionless trooper. The officer frowned.

"D-4231." The officer said. "Sir!" the trooper responded straightening up slightly. "Help her to the bed will you." Summer frowned as 'D-4231' gently grasped her arm and walked her to the bed. 'D-4231? That's like an identification code. Why would someone go by their identification code?' she thought.

"Oh, we haven't properly introduced ourselves." The officer said "I'm Commissar Nicholas Reiner. That's our Apothecary James Von Adler." Summer frowned glaring at Nicholas before glancing at D-4231 and back at him. "Unfortunately for the soldiers of the Death Korps they don't receive names. I'll gladly explain that tomorrow."

Summer sighed. "I'm Summer Rose of a world called Remnant. A world that I wish to return to." She said before passing out.

Nicholas frowned as D-4231 caught 'Summer' before she hit her head. D-4231 gently placed her into a bridal carry before laying her on the bed she'd been on. "What do you think Adler?" Nicholas asked the apothecary. Adler shook his head.

"in all my years of service to the imperium, not once have I heard of a world called remnant." The apothecary said. Nicholas notice that D-4231 was still looking at summer.

"D-4231." The commissar began. The Krieger looked to his superior. "You are to watch over Miss Rose during her stay. Try not to act like a creep." D-4231 nodded and headed to get his rifle before sitting down not too far from their guest.

Nicholas and Adler watched the Krieg trooper take out what appeared to be a journal and begin to write in it. Both men stare in utter confusion. D-4231 catches their stares. "What?" he asked. "nothing, just surprised is all. Let us know when she wakes up." The commissar asked. "Yes sir!" came the curt response

A/N: So, begins my Warhammer 40k/RWBY Fanfic. Now we're several chapters away from RWBY canon AU. Yes I killed off Salem and Tyrian. However, her other followers are still out there. (excluding the trio) I will be releasing a codex of sorts detailing the story characters/factions and updating them as the story progresses. Don't know when that'll be up, but I hope you Warhammer fans enjoyed this chapter. Unfortunately, my knowledge is very scarce to zilch on Warhammer 40k lore. As always read and review. Peace.
