Let the Old Dreams Die Retold Concept: Halloween

October 31st. Halloween.

A ghost mask sat on a hook in the bedroom and a Blue Jack O Lantern Bucket sat next to it. A Prop knife was in there, with some black gloves and a black robe hung next to it. There was a prop skeleton sitting in the corner of the room as well. "Ah. Halloween. The only day we can walk around in our Animatronic forms or normal ghost forms without people batting an eye." Showbiz Bonnie said to Showbiz Freddy. "Mario, define normal." Showbiz Freddy said. An Armored being walked into the Room. Its mask had red marks on it, seemingly painted on recently. "Going in Armor Griffin?" Phantom Mangle asked. "Yeah. Rather not use Popgoes." Griffin said. Lite walked out, a tarp over its head, with two holes for eyes. "Who put a sheet on Lite?" Showbiz Bonnie asked. "Does it Matter?" Feels asked. "Where's Adam?" Showbiz Foxy asked. Right on cue, Adam entered the front door. Behind him, the sunlight was draining, as the moon rose. Somewhere, Gargoyles were breaking out of their stone slumber, which meant some friends of Adam's would also be waking up. "Aye, where have ye been?" Illusion Foxy asked. "I'm sorry, I got caught up at sch-" "Who are you talking to?" A voice asked. Adam turned to see Esther, his adopted Sister peeking out of her room. She looked slightly cross and annoyed. For some reason, she didn't like Adam, but sometimes she appreciated him. "...Sorry, I was rambling," Adam said. Esther rolled her eyes. "Get your costume on," Esther said. Adam nodded as he went to his room. He put on the ghost face costume and looked in the mirror. Using his powers, he changed his voice to a ghost face. "What's your scary movie?" Adam said in the voice. He changed back his voice. "How do I look?" Adam asked the ghosts. "Silly. But cool." Esther said, peeking into his room. Adam turned around to see Esther standing there. She is dressed as a vampire. Her fake fangs pointed through her teeth. "Says the one with the fake fangs," Adam said. Esther seemingly got serious. He didn't understand why. "Watch it. I'll bite you." Esther said. Adam walked over to her. Even though she couldn't see it, Adam had a huge grin. "I'd like to see you try," Adam said. "...I just might," Esther said, gritting her teeth in anger. Before anything can happen, the side door is heard being banged on. Adam left Esther be as she stared back at him. Adam opened the side door to see Eleanor and Isaiah, both dressed in Halloween Costumes. Eleanor dressed as Freddy Fazbear, and Isaiah dressed as a character from Among Us. "Hurhorhuror," Eleanor said, giggling afterward. "Happy Halloween," Adam said, in the most monotone voice possible. "Happy Halloween!" Isaiah said, his voice echoing from the inflatable among us costume. "Ready to go?" Eleanor asked. Adam nodded, then turned his head. "ESTHER! LET'S GO!" Adam yelled. Esther walked out of the hall and stared. "I'm here ok? Let's go." Esther said. "Adam walked towards her as Eleanor and Isaiah followed. "What's wrong with her?" Isaiah whispered. "Got her a bit cranky," Adam whispered back. Adam opened the front door and was about to step out, but was stopped when a dirty cat was sitting on the step. Its fur stuck up as if something sticky dried up in it. It was Church, the Cat belonging to the family next door. Church hissed at them and attempted to scratch Adam. "Who's cat is that?" Eleanor asked. "The people next door…the Creeds I think?" Esther said. Church curled up and hissed even more, the cat getting even more angry. It also smelled funny. Bad. Like a corpse. Almost like it was reanimated. Just then, a large saint Bernard named Cujo, one of Adam's dogs leaped the fence somehow and sprinted at the cat, barking. It seemed to scare Church and Church sprinted off, back to the next-door neighbor's house. "Good boy Cujo," Adam said, petting the dog. Cujo wagged his tail in excitement and walked around in a circle. "Cujo…based on the Steven King Novel right?" Eleanor asked. Adam nodded. "Wanna come boy?" Adam asked. Cujo barked as if he was saying yes. "Well, guess that's a Yes." Esther said. Eleanor looked at Esther and just stared, now fully noticing her costume. It made her go white. "...What? What are you looking at?" Esther asked. Eleanor quickly shook her head. "N-Nothing!" Eleanor said. They left the Yard and began walking down the road, first stopping next door. "Should we knock?" Isaiah said. "...We'll come back afterward." Adam said. "Why? Chicken?" Esther asked, giggling. "No… it's just, a bit odd." Adam said. "...Good Idea, it's giving me the creeps." Eleanor said. Cujo barked at the house, noticing Church sitting there. The Cat Hissed at Cujo. For some reason, this angered the Saint Bernard, who began barking aggressively and pulling at his leash. "Cujo. Calm down boy it's just a cat." Adam said. But Cujo wasn't having it. He kept pulling, and pulling..when..snap! The Leash snapped off and Cujo began charging for the Cat. "CUJO!" Eleanor yelled. Cujo sprinted after the cat, who leaped into the house. For some reason, the door was left ajar. "...I'll get him, you go on ahead, I'll catch up." Adam said. "Are you sure?" Isaiah asked. "Go right ahead. I'm not waiting." Esther said. Eleanor and Isaiah stared at her as Adam walked away. "WHAT?!" Esther asked, agitated. "Jesus who peed in your cereal huh?" Eleanor asked.

Adam stepped into the house and turned on his flashlight. The place was dark, the lights were off and it smelled…off. Like something died in there. There was a Couch and a few picture frames. "Cujo? Cujo! Where are you, boy?" Adam asked. Cujo barked, signaling Adam. Adam stepped through the house and up the stairs, to see two rooms. "Cujo?" Adam asked. Cujo barked, the bark coming from the room at the far end of the hall. Adam walked in to see Cujo looking out the window. "There you are, boy. Didn't get the cat?" Adam asked, petting him. Cujo whined a bit before sniffing Adam's Hand. "Alright, let's g- AH!" Adam said. He was startled by a Little Girl, looking 9 years old. She looked a bit dirty, wearing a dirty ballet dress. "Hello." She said. "Uh…Hi," Adam said. "...What are you doing here?" She asked. Even though the child was younger and smaller than him, Adam felt a sense of fear. "S-Sorry, my dog ran in chasing after a cat," Adam said. "That was my cat. Church." She said. "Oh…Real sorry." Adam said. "... It's ok. Nice Costume." She said. "Uh, thanks...We'll be going now." Adam said. "What's your name?" She asked. "...Adam..And this is Cujo." Adam said. Cujo barked. "...My name is Ellie…the great and terrible. But you can call me Ellie." Ellie said. "Ok...We'll be going…Bye." Adam said. He passed the child, with Cujo at his side, and left the house. Ellie stared at them leaving, with a slight smile growing on her face.

Four Animatronics walk down the street, one dressed as Frankenstein, one as Count Dracula, one as a Witch, and one as a werewol- I mean Werefox. That's right. Showbiz Freddy as Franken Freddy, Showbiz Bonnie as Count Bonnicula, Showbiz Chica as Witch Chica, and Showbiz Foxy as WereFox. Showbiz Freddy was now green, with more sharp teeth and a lot more stitches on him. His yellow vest now has holes in it and he now has Claws. Showbiz Bonnie is a darker shade of blue but his mask and stomach are a brighter blue, he has fangs, brighter red eyes, and white gloves. Instead of his orange overalls, he now has a purple vest, like Freddy, he now has Claws. Chica now has a witch's hat, and her bib says "HAPPY HALLOWEEN!". Her waitress dress is black with a green stripe in the middle, tied together by a gold rope. Her cupcake is now shaped similar to a Black Cat. She had bottles around her waist. Foxy was a completely different color from Freddy. He was now A darker Blue, with a Light Blue mask. He no longer had his hook and had two hands. His once purple bandana was now red, and he had a large tuft of fur over it. He had a large tail and claws. "...This is nice." Witch Chica said. "Aye, I agree, I haven't taken a walk like this in…., scratch that, I think I lost track of time," WereFoxy said. The four were walking when a camera flashed in their faces. "Nice Costume guys!" A man dressed up as a T Rex said. "Thank you!" Count Bonnicula said. "Funny how people think we are people in costumes." Franken Freddy said. A kid, dressed up as Sonic, ran up to them. "E-Excuse me? Can I take a picture with you?" The boy asked. The four Animatronics looked at eachother. "Aye, I don't see why not," WereFoxy said. The boy smiled and turned around, pulling out his phone. The Bots crotched down as the boy took his photo. "Thank you!" The boy said. He walked away and looked at the image. It looked normal. But on closer inspection, there was something wrong with it. Behind all of them, figures were standing behind them. Almost like..ghosts.

"..You think Adam is alright?" Eleanor asked. Esther shrugged. "Probably. I don't care much." Esther said. "..Why not, he's your brother." Isaiah said. Esther stopped in her tracks and turned around. She looked, angry. VERY angry. "He ISN'T my brother. I don't care about him." Esther said out of malice. Footsteps were heard rapidly approaching as Cujo sprinted towards Esther, and tackled her to the ground, licking her. "Get off of me you damn Mutt!" Esther said. But Cujo wasn't letting up. "Cujo, off boy!' Adam said. Cujo got off Esther and backed away as Adam held a hand out to help her up. "...Thanks." Esther said, taking his hand and getting up. "What took you so long?" Isaiah asked. "Had to get Cujo and ran into the Creed's Daughter, Ellie." Adam said. "Did she try to hurt you?" Eleanor asked. "...She's 9. No, she didn't. Though she did look a bit dirty and smelled funny." Adam said. "It is still weird that you can smell like that." Esther said. "And I got some candy from a few houses, did you guys get candy?" Adam asked. "Yeah, not many-" Eleanor began to say, until someone wearing a Michael Myers costume ran in front of them and screamed. "AH!" Adam said, jumping a bit. Cujo barked at the masked scarer and wagged his tail. The person took the Mask off to reveal Carrie White, giggling. "Oh…I forgot you got scared easily Adam!" Carrie said giggling. Cujo still barked, seemingly loving the Chaos. "Jesus Carrie, you almost gave me a heart attack!" Adam said. "HAHA! That is something I will NOT forget!" Esther said. "Nice Costume Carrie!" Eleanor said. "Thanks! You guys trick or treating?" Carrie asked. "Yeah except I think you just gave me a trick." Adam said, shaking his head. "Hey Carrie, do you wanna come with us?" Isaiah asked. Carrie stopped giggling and stared in awe. "Really…? Is that OK Adam?" Carrie asked. Adam, fully recovered from the spook, nodded. "Sure, of course." Adam said. Cujo barked. Carrie hugged Adam quickly. For some reason the hug slightly bothered Esther. It wasn't just Esther either, it bothered Eleanor and Isaiah too. "Oh thank you!" Carrie said. "Heh..No problem. So, what house should we go to?" Adam asked. "...Oh! How about that one?" Esther said, pointing to a house that looks a bit run down, there are boards in on it. Some people say it's haunted. Cujo began to growl at it as if the hound could sense something off about the house. "...You wanna go there?" Isaiah asked. "Yeah, what are you, Chicken?" Esther asked. "...Let's just get it over with, it's not like something bad is gonna happen," Eleanor said. The others began walking toward the house as Adam stood there. The house looked familiar to him. Cujo sat there, looking up at Adam. Laughter could be heard as a Large Bear stood Next to him, it had a large jaw and sharp teeth, its eyes were bright red, and sharp claws, it was golden, and had a purple hat and bowtie, there were teeth on its stomach, almost it was a mouth. It was...Nightmare Fredbear. He laughed again. "Yeah. I know. If anything…" Adam began to say. "B-B-By any means n-n-n-nessasary." Nightmare Fredbear said. "Adam! You coming?" Carrie asked. "Oh yeah! Coming!" Adam said. Fredbear already disappeared. Adam began to follow them as Cujo followed closely behind.

Esther knocks on the door to the house as the door opens. "Trick or Treat!" The Kids said. A woman walked out, she was African American and had black hair and a purple witch hat on. She had a necklace with a Skull on it. She had a black dress and long brown gloves. "Oh! Hello there silly bunnies! I don't think we've ever seen you here before. Please come in, we have more candy!" The Woman said. "...Are you sure it's a good idea?" Isaiah asked. "Of course, we don't bite." The woman said. The kids looked at eachother and shrugged, walking into the house. The house was medium-sized, a Pumpkin sat at the corner of the room, a Cat Clock was on the wall, and a few paintings. There was a chair and a sofa. "Wow, your house is neat!" Isaiah said. The woman smiled. "Thank you, I'm so glad you kids like it. Now, allow me to introduce my friends." The woman said. A person dressed up in a clown costume walked out. "This is Chuckles." The Woman said. Chuckles didn't say anything. "Sorry, he's mute." A voice said. A person dressed up as a Robot walked out. "That is Telly!" The Woman said. "Hello, hope you're having a good Halloween," Telly said. Someone walked out, with a Mask, shaped like a Jack-O-Lantern. And Pumpkin Jack.

Adam stared at him. There was something off about him. "...Are you alright Adam?" Carrie asked. "Huh? Oh yeah, I'm fine. Don't worry." Adam said. "Heh, a pleasure to meet all of you, but we are just there to get some candy, ya know?" Eleanor asked. Pumpkin Jack tilted his head before speaking up. "Oh. Little Children, we have plenty of candy for you." Pumpkin Jack said. He pulled out a bowl of candy as the kids reached for it, Telly took a photo of them. The sudden flash caused Eleanor and Adam to twitch slightly. "Sorry about that, We like taking pictures of our guests every year, that way we will always remember them. Go take a look." Pumpkin Jack said, pointing to the picture frames. There were photos of different children, expanding over the years, from 2010 to 2023. "Well, thanks for the candy and all, but it's gonna get late soon, and we have a few more houses to get to before we call it a night," Adam said. Cujo barked, seemingly agreeing with Adam. "Oh really? Don't you think it's dangerous for kids like you to be wandering the streets at this hour?" The Woman asked. "Lady, it's only 8:45," Esther said, slightly agitated. "Yeah, but we really should be" Eleanor began to say before she was cut off by Pumpkin Jack. "I have an Idea, why don't you stay here for the night?" Pumpkin Jack asked. Cujo began to growl at Jack, barking. "No thanks, come on guys, let's go," Adam said. "...Oh well, if you insist." The woman said. Adam and the others left quickly as The Woman and Pumpkin Jack looked on. "...It was for the best, too many of them. And they had a dog." Pumpkin Jack said. Pumpkin Jack turned around to see Nightmare Freddy standing there in the house. "Hello." Nightmare Freddy said. He screamed as he leaped at them.

Oskar and Eli walked down the sidewalk together on Halloween, Oskar was dressed as Frankenstein, and Eli was dressed as a Witch. Halloween was one of their favorite holidays, they got to walk around in costumes. It was nice. They had baskets with them, filled with some Candy, but they didn't plan on eating it. "I like doing this with you, it's fun," Eli said to Oskar. Oskar turned and lifted Eli's hat, rubbing her hair. "Me too Eli," Oskar said. But since they weren't paying attention, they bumped it something they swore wasn't there before. Oskar looked up and…Froze. He didn't know why he did, but the being staring down at him, kind of made him feel intimidated. It was someone in what he thought was a golden bear costume. But it looked old and worn out. It had stuffing coming out of its ear, and a hole in its mask. Its eyes were like rings, as they looked down at Oskar. Its mask was something like you'd see at a Chuck E Cheese, with a jaw that seemingly can go up and down. But also Odd, one of its ears, the one on the right was missing, and in its place were wires. It had a dark blue bowtie and hat. He also had a red vest with stars on it, a dickie with a button on it. It had stitches on most of its joints, like elbows and knees. It wore white gloves as well, and there were some holes in it. It had a purple Microphone that had the words "FREDBEAR" on it. The bear looked down at Oskar and tilted its head. "Oh, sorry," Oskar said. The Bear kept staring. "Nice Costume! ….Yellow Bear right?" Eli asked. The bear tilted its head again and nodded, and opened its mouth. But instead of words, groaning came out. It closed its mouth again and seemed it was gonna speak normally until it got cut off. "Hi, guys!" Adam said, shouting from across the street. Eli waved back. "Hello! Happy Halloween!" Eli said. Oskar turned and waved at Adam, but when he turned back towards the bear, it was gone. Esther waved as well, albeit with a bit of bitterness in it. "We're going back to my house now, but we're gonna hit one more before we do, you wanna come?" Adam asked. Eli and Oskar looked at eachother, giving a bit of a predatory glance before the glance changed to a childish one. "Sure, let's go, it would be fun," Oskar said. Oskar and Eli walked across the street and began to walk with the group. "...Hey, I've never seen you before," Eli said, looking at Carrie. "..Oh..! My name is Carrie, I'm one of Adam's Friends." Carrie said. Eli nodded. "You have a nice costume," Eli said. "...Oh, thanks!" Carrie said. "...I think we're going to be good friends," Eli said, giving a smile. "...We're going to be friends?" Carrie asked. "Yeah, if that's ok with you," Eli said "Yeah, of course!" Carrie said.

On their way back to Adam's house they stopped by one more house. It was the Creeds' house. The lights were on from the windows this time, so it looked like they were home. "...Should we go to this one?" Eleanor asked. "..We did agree to go to this one after." Isaiah said. Esther groaned. "Let's just do this and go home, I'm getting tired," Esther said. She walked to the house and knocked, Adam and the others followed her. "Trick or Treat!" Adam said. A woman opened the door, she was wearing a grey sweater, and her face had some sort of mascara on. Her hair was black with white streaks in it. She had fake bolts on her neck. "Oh hello…! Happy Halloween…!" The woman said. Something about her voice sounded off as if she wasn't all there. "Thank you, are you ok? Your voice sounds weird." Isaiah said. "Dude!" Adam said. "I'm sorry…it's just a cold. Please come in, we have more candy inside." The woman said. Adam looked at Carrie who looked back at him. Even through the mask, he can tell the girl is uncertain. "Uh, I think we'll stay out here," Adam said. "Oh, come in Adam, my daughter said she already met you. You live next door right?" She asked. "...Uh yeah. Well…if you insist." Adam said. Adam and the others followed the woman inside. This time, the lights were on and the house looked much more lively than earlier. "Wow, you have a nice house," Esther said. "Oh thank you." The woman said. Ellie peeked from a hallway and noticed Adam was back. In response, she ran and hugged his leg. "Oh..! Hi.." Adam said. Esther quickly took a photo. "Delete that," Adam said. "Nope, not a chance freak," Esther said in a teasing manner. "I'm sorry you can't meet my husband, he's out tonight." The woman said. "Uh no..it's fine, but we came here for the candy you know?" Eleanor said. "Oh of course, here you go!" The woman said, handing them some candy. The kids took some pieces and put them in their baskets. "Well, thanks for the candy, but we should be going now, it's getting late," Carrie said. "Don't worry, I understand, have a good night." The woman said. "Wait really? Oh, huh? I thought that would go a bit differently." Adam said. Cujo wagged his tail and barked. "Cujo is right, let's just go," Eleanor said. Ellie finally lets go of Adam's Leg and looks up at him, a smile growing on her face. "Thank you for coming back. See you next time." Ellie said. "Y-Yeah, see you next time," Adam said. Oskar looked at Adam, a predatory grin growing before he shook it off. "Are you alright?" Oskar asked. "Huh? Oh yeah, sorry, let's just go…this place is giving me the creeps… no offense." Adam said. "None taken." The woman said.

Soon, they got back to Adam's house. It was almost 11 o'clock by the time they were done. "Thanks for coming with us," Adam said. "Hey, it's no problem!" Eli said. "We should be getting back, it's getting late," Oskar suggested. Eli nodded. "Bye, have a good night!" Eli said, waving. Adam and the others waved back as Eli and Oskar walked away back home. "...Hey Adam, can I ask you something?" Carrie asked. "Uh yeah sure, what is it?" Adam asked. "Is it alright if I stay the night? It's a bit too late for me and I don't want to go in the dark.." Carrie said. Adam Thought about it. "Alright sure, but shouldn't you ask your mom?" Adam asked. "It's ok, I told her I was going to your house," Carrie said. "...Wait wha-" "Last one there's a rotten egg!" Carrie said, running past Adam to his room. "...I'm going to bed, disturb me and I'm killing you," Esther said. "...Yeah, we'll see," Adam said under his breath as Esther walked away. "We're going back downstairs. Good night." Eleanor said. Adam thought for a minute before he had an idea. "Hey guys wait, the night's not over yet, how about we tell some scary stories?" Adam said. Carrie peeked her head out. "Scary stories?" Carrie asked. "Yeah!" Adam said. "...That could be fun," Eleanor said. Esther walked back to the living room. "...Are you sure? I'm tired." Esther said. "Of course, come on, it'll be fun!" Adam said.
