Ben's job had been completed after he removed the heat from the mine. If he left it alone, the mine would be hot for several days and the miners can't work. Removing the heat took some effort, but it's better than fighting the magical creatures one by one.
After finishing the job, Ben received a special job request from the miners. They asked him to create a new defense system after finding out he could make it. So he stayed there for one more day to install a new defense system against wild magical creatures.
Everyone there is very impressed with his work because his defense system is a lot stronger than the last one. The mages who work there try to break the defense system as a test but none of them were even able to damage it.
After wrapping everything up, Ben returned to the island where Grimoire Heart's airship is located. Nothing changed on this island and it is still the same as before. He came back here because he had a good plan for the airship.
Ben planned to make the airship guild property. But it needed to be repaired and modified before it could be converted into Fairy Tail's airship. So he will take his time and do the necessary jobs slowly.
The airship was still damaged and inoperable so he can't take it back to Magnolia. Even if it can fly, Ben can't pilot it because of his motion sickness. So he installed a teleportation door that will allow him to come here and return to Magnolia anytime.
"I think I need to do something before I return." Ben said after he installed the door.
The thing he needed to do was remove the tool that informed all of Grimoire Heart's members about the airship's location. As long as he removed the tool on the airship, then the tools that each member has won't work and the airship's location will not be known.
Ben had thought about leaving the tool in operation to bait out the remaining members of Grimoire Heart. But he thought that was too much of a hassle and if other legal guilds or the Magic Council find out about the airship, they will want to get their hands on it, so it's better to hide the airship's presence.
After removing the tool, Ben returned to his office through the teleportation door. No one was surprised by his sudden appearance because they're used to the teleportation door. They just continue their work when Ben left his office to report his job.
When he went downstairs, he was attacked by Bella. She flew towards him and hugged his face tightly because she missed him. He wasn't gone for long but Bella who always accompanied him on jobs was quite lonely because he didn't bring her along for this job.
"Bad Ben! Bad! Bad!" Bella yelled while tearing up a little.
"Alright, alright, I'm sorry. I will bring you next time I go on a job." Ben said while patting her head.
Bella nodded and kept clinging to Ben without any intention of letting him go.
"Fufu, as much as she likes being with me, the one she likes to be with the most is still you. She kept asking when you'll return every few hours." Mira explained.
Ben smiled and rubbed Bella's head, "Sorry Bella. I went on a dangerous job so I couldn't bring you with me. Here, I've brought a new kind of milk for you."
Ben took out a bottle of milk and gave it to Bella. She took it but still clung onto Ben even when she drank it. She really doesn't want to let him go, making everyone giggle at her cute behavior.
He can't do anything about it so Ben just let her stay like that as he reported his job was completed. Then he asked Mira what happened in the guild while he was gone. Most of them were normal things that didn't need his attention expect one thing.
A letter from the Magic Council came yesterday and Ben immediately read it. The letter is about the tournament for the Wizard Saint position that Ben proposed. It really took a long time for them to decide this because they need to think about it thoroughly.
Basically, they accepted the proposal and will hold the tournament every year publicly. But the requirements are very strict and not everyone can join it. That's for sure because the Wizard Saint position is important.
The most important requirements were power, a background check and affiliation. Power is a must because a Wizard Saint needs to be strong while a background check is needed to avoid traitors like Jellal and Ultear.
As for affiliation, it is stated that the competitors come from every nation in Ishgar and someone from the same guild with a Wizard Saint can't participate. If a guild has more than 1 Wizard Saint, they will have too much power, and the Magic Council can't allow that to happen.
"Tch, they are unnecessarily sharp about this. Now I can't make Mira a Wizard even if I want to because of this. Whatever, this is enough to let me know about the strongest mages in other guilds. Even mages who aren't from guilds can participate so it can be used as a place to scout new members." Ben said.
Many non-affiliated mages will definitely compete in this tournament. The wages and special treatment for Wizard Saints are very tempting for anyone. With this tournament, everyone will have a equal chance so no one will want to miss it.
"The first tournament will be held next year in Fiore's capital because the idea came from me, a Wizard Saint from Fiore. After that, the tournament will take place in other nations in rotation to make it fair. Well that's good enough. I can use those tournaments as trips." Ben said.
But Ben also knew that leaving the guild to compete in the tournament is risky. He needed to increase the defense system so the guild will be safe when he left. After all, he won't be the only person leaving because a lot of his guild mates will join him to watch the tournament.
"Battles between strong mages can be a good lesson for us so I must take them to watch it, especially the young mages. But we also need to be careful because problems might arise when we meet mages from other guilds and nations. And with the personalities of Fairy Tail's mages, problems will surface sooner or later, so I need to prepare for it." Ben said as he stored the letter.
A few days later, Ben called some engineers that are affiliated with their guild. They will work to repair and modify the airship that he took from Grimoire Heart. He only gathered those that he trusted and hid the fact that it was Grimoire Heart's property.
Ben just told them that it was a airship he obtained from a dark guild he wiped out. Telling them that it belonged to Grimoire Heart would cause problems later. Even if he trusted them, he can't tell them that otherwise it might put them in danger because Grimoire Heart is one of the top three dark guilds.
He worked with A.I Chip on what to do with the airship. Most of the parts will be changed, especially the engine, controls, defense and attack systems. Basically, Ben changed nearly everything except the base body.
He estimated that the airship will be done in 6 months. There was a lot to do because he changed a lot of things. He didn't want a airship that could only fly, so all those changes were necessary.
After he assigned the engineers their tasks, Ben took the book on Fire God Slayer Magic. "Now with that done, I can focus on learning this. Just you wait, Acnologia. I'll turn you into ash in the future."
