Chapter One

Location: Somewhere in England

Timedate: 1st November 2010

Somewhen during the early dark hours after midnight, gusts of wind threw through various trees and hints of stars could be seen peering through the dim clouds. However, one particular star managed to shine brighter than the rest; brighter, larger, and closer. Through near-darkness and near-silence, the meteor gradually darted straight on its way down to Earth, literally. Few signs of life, if even any at all, looked up to gaze and witness its ominous arrival.

Hurtling towards the planet from infinite miles of void, the meteor made its way through the invisible atmosphere. It was eventually enveloped in a shield of a rapidly glowing fire, not that it seemed to completely burn up and fall apart at all. Bright red, while drawing a greyish mist behind it, a hypnotic yet unsettling sight. Then as it got brighter and closer to the surface of the Earth, the meteor somehow seemingly got both larger and smaller at the same time.

Before long, as it broke past the mesosphere, the meteor emitted a high-pitched hissing sound, possibly of the utmost frequency. But as it headed even closer to the surface, the screeching hiss soon gave way to a deep rumbling roar of fiery blaze, its volume increased as the gap decreased. Finally, it made physical contact with the soft green surface of the Earth, landing with a flash of red. The hissing and rumbling sounds had ceased, at first, then as the resulting shockwave spread out across the surrounding area, so did the delayed booming.

Eventually, the eruptive light and sounds eased away, revealing a moderately deep and wide crater in the middle of a vast green field. Right in the very centre of the crater, slightly smoking and grazed with mud, was what seemed to be a small spaceship of intricate design, pale white in colour with trims of red, and five feet long at most as well as about half as wide. Within the ship, there were faint voices and sounds of movement, murmuring and clattering. Then, a little door on one of the sides of the ship began moving, clicking, rotating, unlocking.

After another metallic click, the door split down the middle and parted open, emitting a short burst of puffing gas along with a gasping sound as if taking in a breath of earthly air. Only a few seconds at most had passed before something or someone took the first small step, then a giant leap off the ship and onto the thick soil below. A small, slender, and nimble figure completely donned in an armoured suit of white, black, and red with twin rotor wings attached to his back, wearing a winged pure-red helmet, and firmly wielding a long sword of pure silver.

As he looked around the area that seemed so large and almost alien-like to him, another unique life-form peaked out from the open hatch. A short stumpy robot with a white body, a red flat head with a yellow visor, silver arms with pincer hands, and tank treads in place of legs and feet. The small android pressed on a button next to the exit which activated a long ramp that emerged from beneath the doorway itself, extending forth and downward. Once it had touched the ground, the dwarf-like robot strolled his way out of the doorway and down the ramp before walking up next to the sword-wielding helmeted humanoid.

"Your majesty, Prince Acroyear", the small robotic companion spoke, a synthetic yet almost child-like voice. "Do you think this planet would be a safe enough world to hide out in?"

"We can hope so at the moment, Microtron", Acroyear responded, a deep yet gentle male voice. "It may only be a matter of time before the Baron and his forces not only trace our trans warped direction, but also follow us here".

"Shall I head out and scout the local realm? Just to be sure and certain".

"I'll have Biotron and Phenolo-Phi assist you on that. Oziron, Larissa, and I shall check on the ship itself for a damage report".

"Righty-oh, sir- I mean, your highness".

"Please, just call me Acroyear, my actual name".

"Oh, okay, sir... Acroyear".

As Microtron went on his own way, Acroyear continued walking around the spaceship, observing the surrounding crater and possibly whatever may lay beyond. A calm mild wind still drifted along the wide open landscape, whistling and rustling. Looking up, Acroyear could see a few stars through gapes and holes in the clouds. He knew that within one of those stars was his homeworld, one of many planets residing in the Microspace. Many memories raced back through his mind, his kingdom, his people, his mother and father, the mass-produced army made in his very image, and the brave and beautiful knightess who stood and fought for his life, possibly his love. Acroyear succeeded well in hiding his expressions and emotions with both his helmet and his silence.

In the meantime, he headed back inside the ship for personal analysis while the nightly hours rolled on.
