Chapter 2
Akira and Bart returned to the cabin. Lisa, who was carrying Maggie in her arms, walked to her brother.
"How was the motorcycle?" She asked. "I hope you didn't ride it. Mom will kill you if she finds out." Bart looked at her.
"No, Lisa, I did not." Lisa sighed with relief.
"Oh, that's good."
"I didn't because it was stolen." His sister was surprised.
"Wait, what?"
"It's true." Akira told her. "Hunter, The Ice King and Poof stole my motorcycle as well as the keys to the motorcycle."
"Now you know how I felt when Ash stole my bike." Misty stated.
"That was over 26, 25 years ago." Ash pointed out. "I can't believe you are still butt-hurt about that. Nurse Joy even fixed it." Misty glared at him.
"Well, you should not have done it in the first place." Ash was now mad too,
"Well, I'm sorry, but I had to save Pikachu! Your bike was faster than walking to the Pokémon Center!"
"You still didn't repay me."
"Oh, give me a break! I'm not the one that destroyed your bike, you know."
"Do you honestly expect Pikachu to repay me? You're his trainer, so you're the one responsible."
"Stop fighting!" May shouted at them. She looked at Ash. "But yeah, Ash, you should really stop destroying bikes."
"Yeah, I agree." Dawn agreed. "You really should." Goh sighed.
"Glad I didn't have a bike present then." He said to himself. Kencho looked at his friend.
"Didn't you steal that motorcycle, Akira?" He wanted to know. Akira looked at him.
"I did not steal it." He said. "I took it because since nearly everyone was turning into zombies, nobody was using it and they just so happened to have kept the keys inside of the ignition. I had a bike, but the motorcycle is much faster and cooler. It's a major upgrade!" He grew mad. "But if they destroy or put one dent or scratch on it, they're all dead!"
"Son, don't do anything stupid." Akira's father told him.
"He will." Shizuka responded. "It's what he does."
"What's going on here?" Professor Frankly, who just came in, wanted to know. Akira told him everything. The Goomba frowned.
"Oh, dear!" He said when the explanation was over. "Well, unless a miracle happens, there's nothing we can do about it. I'm afraid we might not see them ever again. And no one else better wander off. Stay here where it's safe. Please; I'm begging you for your safety!" He left the room.
"Well, there goes my plan." Grimer said. Charmander looked at his friend.
"What?" He wanted to know. "What was your plan?"
"Oh, my plan was to be Hunter's therapist just like I was yours at Christmastime all of those years ago."
"But Grimer, you weren't a professional. You still aren't."
"I know, but think about it, Char. He was physically and emotionally abused, was digging his own grave, and found out that the one person he thought he could trust and loved him, was evil, causing him to have panic attacks and PTSD. That poor kid needs therapy, and I just thought I'd come out of retirement and be one for him while we're stuck here."
"Roger would become Dr. Penguin." Klaus spoke up. "And I'd much rather have you as a therapist than him, professional or not." Grimer smiled at him.
"Thank you."
"Did Ash mention that he once thought that therapy was a Pokémon?" Misty asked.
"No." Goh replied. "But I can believe it. I love Pokémon as much as the next guy, but I'm not that stupid."
"Come on, you guys!" Ash wined. "Don't make fun of me! I bet you guys did foolish things when you were ten."
"Uh, Ash, you are still ten and so am I."
"And it appears that we'll always be ten." Bart pointed out. "Since we never age due to us being cartoons."
"We only age if it's convenient for the plot." Lisa added. "That or if the creator wants us to age."
"You know what I meant." Ash said. "A younger ten!"
"Thinking everything he hears is a name of a Pokémon." Iris stated to no one in particular. "What a kid."
Perry went outside and changed into agent mode. He was about to go off when he saw the door to Akira's RV was open. The platypus strolled inside and was surprised to see Akira in his diver costume. Akira turned to him
"Oh, hi, Perry." He greeted the agent platypus. "Please don't tell anyone, especially that buzzkill, old Goomba, but I am going to go get my motorcycle back, and I will fight off any zombies that get in my way! And maybe even find a way to cure everyone in the process, maybe everyone in Japan too. I rather get eaten by zombies rather than not doing anything at all. For, I, Akiriger, will be a hero to all of anime and cartoonkind!" Perry took out his hero costume that he hadn't worn in a decade and put it on. Akira marveled at this. "Aw, you look so awesome and cute at the same time!" He then realized something. "Wait, does this mean…?" Perry nodded. Akira was happy once more. "Awesome! We'll be a superhero team! Every hero could use help every now and again. You can be my sidekick. We can be Akiriger and the Platypus!" Perry smiled and gave him a thumbs up. "Glad you like the name, but, ah, won't your owners miss you? You know what? Never mind! You can come with me, but I drive, okay?" Perry nodded. "Good. Glad you see things my way." They walked to the front of the RV. Akira shut the RV door and sat in the driver's seat, fastening his seatbelt. Perry sat in the passenger seat. He also buckled his seatbelt. "Looks like we have the whole RV to ourselves. So do whatever and leave the driving to me!" He put the keys in the ignition and they drove off.
"So, where are we going?" Hamster wanted to know. Akira then screamed. "Whoa, whoa, hands on the wheel. Don't freak out because of me." Akira stopped the RV and looked at the rodent, who was in his superhero costume. "Sorry. I'm a superpowered hamster and my superpowered girl and her parents got zombiefied. I couldn't just do nothing." Akira smiled.
"I understand perfectly! That's what heroes do when the world's at stake, but, uh, what about Kevin? Won't he miss you?"
"Yeah, but he's 16. He can handle himself."
"Fair enough." He looked back. "If there is anybody else here, come forward! Hello! Going once, going twice…" He looked up front again. "Okay, you two, here we go!" With that, they drove off again. "Oh, and to answer your question from earlier, I have no idea on where we're going. So in the meantime, we're going to fight zombies and hope for the best."
"So, you don't have a plan?" Hamster sighed. "Terrific! This will be interesting."
"Since you're here now, we need a new name for our superhero team. How about Akiriger and the Pets…no, Akiriger and the Super Pets?"
"Hmmm, not bad, but the name doesn't really matter.."
"Thanks, and you're right. As long as we save everybody, that's what really counts in the end, not our superhero team name. Still, we need a name so cartoons can identify us."
"I suppose you're right."
Hunter, Ice King and Poof all went into The Last Resort. They all looked all around, but it was completely empty. They walked and flew around.
"Hello?" The Ice King called. "Hello! Anybody here?"
"It looks like no one's been in this place for years." Poof observed.
"There was an abandoned shack by Luz's place back in Connecticut." Hunter explained. "My friends and I spruced it up when we were stuck there for a couple months." The Ice King rang the bell on the counter a few times.
"Hello!"
"I told you!" Poof said to the ice wizard. "This place might be abandoned. No one's here." Ice King sighed.
"You're right. I guess we have no choice, but to continue on the road until we find somewhere to stay for the night." They all heard barking and looked as Polterpup ran up to them. The ghost dog tackled Poof to the floor, and licked him all over, making the fairy baby laugh. "Well, at least we know Luigi's ghost dog is here."
"Oh, good, you three haven't been turned into zombies yet." Someone spoke. They all looked his way. It was the ghost of Director Morty. Polterpup went to him. The director's ghost bent down to pet the ghost dog. "I was afraid everyone would have turned into bloodsucking zombies. I'm glad that's not the case. Now, what can I do for you?
"We would like to stay here for the night if you don't mind." Morty floated back up and frowned.
"I'm afraid that's not a very good idea." Everyone was confused by this.
"Why ever not? Are you filming here? Because if you are, we can easily stay out of your way. Right, kids?" Poof and Hunter nodded. Morty shook his head.
"That's not it."
"Then what is it?"
"Well, you see..." Just then a purple cat came trotting down the stairs. Hunter smiled and bent down as the cat laid on the floor, ready for a belly rub. Morty gasped.
"A cat!" Hunter said. "My friend, Amity, has a cat palisman. Her cat's name is…"
"Uh, young man." Morty began. "That's not a live cat. It's a…." Hunter noticed his hand went right through the cat. This confused the teen.
"What the…?" Polterkitty mewed madly at Hunter. "Oh, a ghost kitty." He stood up.
"That's quite enough, Polterkitty!" Scolded a voice. Polterkitty ran to her owner, Hellen Gravely, on the stairway. Hellen bent down to pick up the feline. "We don't want to scare our guests. They might not want to stay here then."
"Actually, they were just leaving." Morty said to her.
"Nonsense!" Hellen told him. "The poor souls must be pretty exhausted running away from all of those zombies." She looked at the three. "You three are welcome to stay here and get away from those awful zombies. Welcome to The Last Resort." They all smiled.
"Why, thank you." The Ice King thanked her. Hellen faked a smile.
"No, thank you! Come, I'll show you to your room." They all followed her.
"Oh, dear!" Morty said to himself. He bent down to Polterpup.
"Polterpup." He whispered to him. Polterpup looked at him. "I may regret this, but I think you better go and see if you can find any help. This could turn out ugly." Polterpup barked in response. The ghost dog then ran off. Morty watched him go. He sighed to himself.
"Oh, I hope Hellen behaves herself and nothing bad happens to those good souls, but knowing her, probably not. I also hope that Polterpup finds more lucky non-zombies cartoons."
Akira, Perry and Hamster were on the road for a few hours now and it was getting late.
"It's getting late." Akira told the two animals. "Why don't you two get ready for bed while I find somewhere to stop the RV for the night? Sorry. I don't have a pet bed or hamster cage."
"Okay." Hamster said. "We don't need those. Where we end up sleeping will be fine." He and Perry were about to go to bed when all a sudden, Polterpup jumped onto the hood of the RV. Akira screamed as he tried to steer, but ended up crashing into a nearby tree. His head fell hard onto the steering wheel. Hamster flew as a very frightened Perry held onto the table leg for dear life.
When Akira regained consciousness, he looked back at the pets.
"You two okay?" He wanted to know.
"Yeah." Hamster replied. "We're just peachy keen." Perry gave out a frightened chatter in response.
"I'm going to go out and see what made me crash." Akira said. He went outside the RV.
"I will too." Hamster said and flew out of the RV. Perry walked out of the RV too.
Akira looked all around, but couldn't see what made him crash the RV. Perry and Hamster did too.
"Hmmm, I could have sworn I saw something." Akira said. "Did you two see anything?"
"I did not." Hamster replied. Perry shook his head.
"Hmmm, that's strange. It's like whoever or whatever it was just vanished into thin air."
"But your RV is totaled." Akira looked at the vehicle and was horrified. He swore loudly.
"Whoa, careful." Hamster warned him. "I know you're an adult and it's a realistic response in this situation, but you are talking to two kid-friendly cartoons and this is a family story."
"Sorry." Akira apologized. "But this RV is a rental. When or if the world goes back to normal, people from the RV rental shop are going to kill me."
"Just like the people who you 'borrowed' their motorcycle from?" Akira got annoyed by the rodent.
"You know, for the 'Ferb' of the show, you really are talkative today."
"Well, the platypus can't talk, so it has to be me."
"Fair enough I guess. Still, the RV is still worrisome. It was so nice inside. The motorcycle better not have gotten ruined."
"I'm sure Poof will fix the RV. The motorcycle also needs to be fixed if it's broken also."
"That's right, those three are still dead if anything happened to the motorcycle. In fact, they may be dead regardless. They had no right to steal the motorcycle that I stole." Polterpup then poofed in with a bark. Perry and Hamster's eyes widened. Akira screamed then had a look at him. "Polterpup? Oh man, Polterpup isn't a ghost dog zombie, is he?"
"No." Hamster assured him. "I think it's just Polterpup." Akira sighed in relief.
"Oh, that's good. But what's he doing here?" Polterpup barked, went towards the hotel, looked back and barked again. They all looked at the hotel. "And was that creepy looking hotel always there?" Hamster shrugged.
"Who can say?" Perry walked towards the motorcycle that he saw in the parking lot and chattered.
"My motorcycle!" Akira ran towards it. The others followed. The 24-year old sighed. "And it's still in good condition." He stood up, looking determined. "Which means the thieves are definitely in here." Akira bowed to the ghost dog. "Arigatou, Polterpup. Although, getting our attention without scaring us and making me crash the RV would have been much better and made me less mad." Polterpup barked again. "Right; let's go inside." And so, that is what they did.
Once inside, they all looked around and walked to the counter. Polterpup barked, going over to Morty, who bent over to pet and congratulate him. He looked at them all and smiled.
"Oh, good! More guests!"
"We're not here to stay." Akira told him. "We're here for three guests. A fairy baby, an ice wizard and a sleep-deprived blonde teenager with a forelock and scars in a wolf shirt. They did something bad, and I gotta kill them."
"Dude!" Hamster said. "Chill it with the killing! Let's just get them back first." He looked at Morty. "Sorry. He's not really going to kill them."
"Right," Akira stated. "So, can you tell us where they are staying?"
"Hold on." Morty told them. "Just let me check the computer." Morty typed some stuff on the ghostly computer. Seconds later, he got the room number and looked up at them.
"They are in room 503 on the fifth floor. Are you sure you don't want to stay the night?"
"I have an RV that we can sleep in if need be." Morty nodded. He looked at the ghost dog.
"Polterpup, can you show them the way?" Polterpup barked and went off. After Akira thanked and bowed to Morty, the three cartoons followed the dog. Akira pressed the elevator button.
"Oh, good, more guests!" Hellen said when she saw them. "Do you want me to show you to your room?"
"They won't be staying." Morty told her. "Polterpup is just showing the room where their friends are staying." Hellen frowned.
"Ok. Whatever. You'll all be missing out though." The elevator doors opened and Perry, Polterpup, Akira, and Hamster all went inside.
Hunter watched in terror as all of his friends, including Poof and The Ice King get bitten by zombies and turn into the undead.
"You promised me that you'll get my parents back to normal!" A teary-eyed Remy Remington cried out at Hunter. Hunter gasped as he saw a zombie bite Remy on the arm. "You promised!"
"REMY!" Hunter cried out as he saw the child turn into a zombie. He fell to his knees. His teardrops fell onto the ground. He felt utterly powerless. "I'm sorry!"
"Hunter." Said a voice. Hunter became horrified and gulped. He knew that voice all too well. He turned around to come face to face with Emperor Belos.
"No!" He said, standing up. "Y-you're dead. Luz said so. This is not possible. H-how are you here?"
"I'm not dead. Not anymore. And you can never escape me, no matter what you may think." He tossed Hunter's Golden Guard mask that he held and it landed by his feet. "So, I'll ask again, become the Golden Guard again, and we can rule this land together as uncle and nephew together. What do you say?" Hunter became determined.
"For the last time; no! You kill the innocent and people who are different from you, so I'll never be like you! And I'll never be the Golden Guard ever again under your rule. I never want to see you again!"
"Suit yourself." Hunter then saw zombie Willow come up to them.
"Willow?" Belos looked at her.
"You know what to do." He told her.
"Right, my lord." Willow agreed in her zombie voice.
"Willow, no!" A terrified Hunter pleaded. Zombie Willow used her plant magic. Hunter began to run, but the vines wrapped around his torso and he got dragged to them. "No, no, no, please!"
"Join me in the undead, Hunter!" Zombie Willow said and bit Hunter as painfully as she could on his arm, drawing blood.
"NOOOOOOOO!" Hunter screamed as he woke up with a start. He noticed The Ice King and Poof were sitting up from their beds too, both looking horrified as well.
"Did you guys have nightmares too?" The Ice King questioned Poof and Hunter. They both nodded. "Me too. I dreamt that I lost all of my powers, became my human self, Simon, and died with everybody on my show. It was sad and depressing."
"I dreamt of losing my parents and my god siblings and fairy dog forever." Poof stated. He looked at Hunter. "Let me guess, Emperor Belos?" Hunter nodded.
"And Remy yelling at me that I let him down, and Willow biting me on the arm." He added. He then frowned. "When I had a nightmare before about Belos back in the Human Realm, I thought he was dead, but it turns out, he wasn't. I'm afraid my nightmare tonight might tell me that he might be alive again and is looking for me."
"Don't fret." The Ice King assured him. "I'm sure that we all just had nightmares of our greatest fears because of our stress and fears of this whole situation. That's all. Nothing serious."
"That may be true." Poof said. "But having nightmares at the same time? Something might be up."
"Or it might just be a coincidence." The Ice King told him. "Don't read into this too much, kid."
"But…" Poof was interrupted by barking and then knocking. Poof, The Ice King and Hunter looked at the door. "Who could it be at this hour?"
"Don't know." The Ice King responded. He got out of bed and headed towards the door. He flipped on the light switch. "I'll see who it is." He opened the door. There was Akira, Perry and Hamster on the other side. "What are you guys doing here?"
"You know exactly why I'm here!" Akira shouted. "You three stole my motorcycle and I want it back!" Poof and Hunter both went to them.
"To be honest, it was Hunter's idea to take your motorcycle." Poof explained to him. "As you can see, we can fly." Hunter glared at him.
"Well, Ice King was the one that drove both of us!" He argued.
"Only because you didn't know how to drive and was going to kill yourself." The Ice King argued back.
"I don't care about all of that!" Akira spoke with a raised voice. "The fact is that it was taken and I want it back."
"Sorry, we took your motorcycle." The Ice King apologized.
"We need it to find the cure." Hunter spoke. "After we do that then you can have your human bike back."
"It's not a bike!" Akira snapped at him. "It's a motorcycle! It's better than an ordinary bike."
"Whatever. We still need it for transportation to find the cure."
"And how are you guys going to manage that?" Hamster wanted to know. "Do you know where to go?"
"Well, no, but trust me, we will, we have to!" Akira sighed.
"Fine, but just be careful with it." He looked at Poof. "Poof, in the meantime, can you fix my RV?"
"Sure." Poof said. "But, uh, what happened to it?" Akira glared at Polterpup who whimpered in guilt. The rest looked at the ghost dog. Akira looked back at Poof.
"Follow me. I'll explain on the way."
"Uh, ok." Poof followed him. Hamster and Perry went after them. The Ice King looked at Hunter after he closed the door.
"We better get back to sleep." He told him.
"I think I'll just stay up." He said. "I don't want to have nightmares about Belos again." The Ice King glared at him. "What? You're not my dad."
"Do you even have a dad? You were cloned after all." Hunter got mad.
"Darius is my…" He calmed down and sighed. "Fine, I'll sleep. But if I have another nightmare about Belos, I'm staying up. I stayed up plenty of times before, so I'm used to it." The Ice King smiled.
"As long as you get a decent amount of sleep in, that's all I care about."
"What about Poof? Somebody has to be up for him when he comes back, right? I can…"
"Don't worry about it. I'm sure he can take care of himself. He's a magical baby after all, so not an ordinary one. He's mature for his age. Now, sleep! A growing boy like you needs at least eight hours of it." Hunter sighed once more. With that, The Ice King turned off the lights, and the two went back to bed.
With a poof, Poof fixed the RV. It looked like nothing had happened to it. Akira looked at Poof. Hamster and Perry had gone to bed in the RV.
"Thanks." Akira thanked the fairy baby. "You really saved my skin."
"No problem!" Poof answered. "And look, I'm sorry we took the motorcycle."
"It's okay. I mean I'm still mad that you guys did it, but at the same time, I guess I get it. With the current situation, things are looking uncertain. But if nothing gets done, nothing gets done. Know what I'm saying?"
"I actually do. But uh, maybe you need an extra person to help and a platypus and hamster? A team of awesome superheroes?" Poof pondered about this.
"Maybe. We might need the help." He then smiled. "That might be great; thanks! But I might need to ask Hunter and The Ice King and see if they're on board with the idea."
"You ask him and we can head out tomorrow. Perry, Hamster and I will be right out here in the RV." Poof nodded.
"Sounds good to me!" They bid their farewell to each other. Akira walked back towards the RV where Hamster and Perry were both sleeping.
Poof was about to poof back into the hotel when he felt someone was watching him. He looked and saw a Darkrai.
Hmmmm. He thought to himself. No wonder why Hunter, Ice King and I had nightmares. But how come Darkrai is here? How strange. Oh well! With that, the fairy baby poofed back into their hotel room with a wave with his rattle. He saw that they were both sleeping, so he poofed up a crib and went to bed in it.
"Tendo!" Gonzo Kosugi, Akira's former boss, shouted at him. Akira couldn't believe it. He didn't know how but somehow he found himself working for his horrible boss again and to make matters worse, he had a whip with him this time. "What are you doing!? Get this work done right now!"
"But I'm tired, Chief!" Akira complained. "I worked all day. I need to take a break!"
"Not on my watch! You're going to work until you take your last breath and don't think of making that stupid 'standing up to me' speech to me the way that you did ever again!" He whipped him. Akira screamed.
"Ow! I'm sorry, Chief. I don't know what I was thinking! I'll work! I'll work! I'll do whatever you say. Just stop hitting me; please!" Gonzo stopped.
"Okay. Oh, and Akira?" Akira looked at him.
"Yes, Chief?" He wanted to know.
"Don't disappoint me. I'll be out on a date and when I get back, the work better be done, or else!"
"Yes, Chief." He then smiled. "You have a date? Congrats! Who's the lucky lady?"
"Shizuka Mikazuki." Akira could hardly believe it.
"Shizuka Mikazuki?! But, no! You're way out of her league! She'll never date someone like you; there's just no way!" Gonzo got mad and whipped him again.
"I can date any pretty woman that I want and there's nothing you can say to stop me!"
"Yes, Chief! Again, I'm so sorry!"
"That's better. I'm leaving now, Akira. Remember, you work with me forever now whether you like it or not!" He laughed evilly as he left. "Oh, and she asked me out and not the other way around." Akira was surprised.
"What? No way! You're lying!"
"I assure you, Akira. I'm not." He then left. Akira sighed as he went back to his job. He really wished he could just stand up to his boss like he did before, but he was afraid to, especially now with that whip.
Akira then heard screams. They were the screams of his parents and Kencho. Akira looked up and gasped as he saw them running away from zombies.
"AKIRA!" Kencho screamed. "AKIRA! HELP ME!" He then was bitten by a zombie. He screamed even louder.
"KENCHO!" Akira cried. He then heard yelling from his parents, They got bitten as well. "MOM! DAD! PLEASE, NO!" Tears stung his eyes. He watched in horror as all three of them all got turned into zombies. They all then slowly walked toward him. However, Akira didn't run. Instead he just stayed put. Without his parents and his friends, he had nothing left to live for. So he just let them keep coming, and just let the zombiefied Kencho bite him on the arm. He didn't even scream.
Akira, Hamster and Perry all woke up with a start. They all looked at each other.
"Did you two have nightmares too?" Akira wanted to know. They both looked at him and nodded.
"I had one where the whole tri- state area got sucked up by an evil vacuum." Hamster said. "It was awful!" Akira looked at Perry.
"Was your terrible dream about Phineas and Ferb?" He wanted to know. The platypus nodded, with a horrified expression on his face, still obviously thinking about it.
"So we all had nightmares at the same time? How strange. I wonder why." Perry then saw Darkrai outside of the RV window. He chattered. Akira and Hamster were confused as they both looked at the monotreme. "What is it, Perry?" Perry pointed out the window. "What do you see?" He looked and gasped when he saw Darkrai. "Is that…?" Hamster looked out too.
"Darkrai." The rodent stated. "Gives people and animals nightmares."
"Oh, so is was all Darkai's doing!"
"That'll be my hypothesis." Akira looked at him.
"So are we going to do something about it?"
"Do what? What can we do?"
"I don't know. Go out there and command it not to give us nightmares anymore? Scare it away somehow?"
"We can't do that. How about we just go to sleep and just hope for the best?"
"Can we do that? I don't know. What if…?" He sighed when he saw the rodent's expression. "I guess. Okay, you win. Let's hope for the best and in the morning, we can go back into the hotel." The animals just looked at him, "Oh yeah, I suggested to Poof we join him, Hunter and The Ice King. Hope that's okay." Hamster pondered about this.
"Sure. Why not? We're already out here."
"That's what I was thinking!"
"Good. Now let's continue getting shuteye and then we can really kick zombie butt."
"Yeah! Zombie butt!"
"Hopefully we have no more nightmares. Goodnight."
"Goodnight!" And with that, Akira turned off the lamp again and they once again went to sleep.
"I thought your eye bags would have gone away by now." Poof told Hunter when he, Hunter and Ice King went out of their hotel room and towards the stairs.
"I had my eye bags forever." Hunter responded. "I think they'll never go away at this point."
"Never say never, kid." Ice King explained to him. "You'd be surprised. They might go away in the future. It'll take time." Hunter smiled.
"My eye bags don't bother me."
"But they are still not healthy to have and make people pity you." Poof said. "It'll be better if they're gone. Don't you think so?"
"I guess." They all went and floated down the stairs. The Ice King rang the bell at the front desk.
"Uh, guys?" Poof told them as they were waiting. They all looked at him. "Would it be okay if we all had some help at finding the cure in all of this?" The Ice King sighed.
"What did you do, Poof?" He wanted to know. Poof told them. The Ice King sighed.
"I think it's a good idea." Hunter said. "We could use the help. When my friends were at the Owl House when we came back to the Demon Realm from the Human Realm, I was impatient and thought I could defeat Belos on my own without any magic. But I realized not to rush things, to take things one step at a time and with my friends by my side, well, it makes things way much better. I wouldn't be who I am now without them. They are all so important to me." He looked determined. "That's why we have to save them and all of the other cartoons no matter what."
"Okay, okay." The Ice King said. "I suppose it wouldn't hurt." He looked at Poof. "But Poof, you were on an adventure before. So was Perry. I feel that's not fair. Give other cartoons a chance."
"I hear you." Poof told Ice King. "I really do. But the world's a mess right now, and I'm going to do whatever I have in my power to stop it. And I bet Perry feels the same way. And besides, I found that baby turkey. So did Pichu, who was also in that Christmas adventure like I was." Ice King nodded.
"Okay, you win." Morty then appeared. They looked at him. "Morty, we're ready to leave." Morty nodded as he took the room keys from him.
"Before you go, I have to tell you something that might be crucial to all of you." Ice King, Poof and Hunter all looked at him.
"Ok." Ice King just said. "What is it?"
"I know the cure of this zombie pandemic and how to save and return all of your friends and cartoons back to normal." They were confused. He looked around to see if anybody else was in the room. When he didn't see anyone, he looked at the three again. "Ok. The cure is…."
"Aw, leaving so soon?" Hellen wanted to know who was now beside Morty, petting Polterkitty in her arms. "I was so hoping you three will be our guests…permanently!" Suddenly, strong winds blew into the lobby. Chairs and plants went flying in the air, forcing The Ice King, Hunter and Poof to sit into the chairs while the plants wrapped their roots onto them. They were now all stuck. All of them screamed. Poof's rattle fell to the floor.
The front door opened. The ghosts, Hunter, Poof and Ice King all looked to see Akira, Perry and Hamster who all gasped at what they saw. Hellen gave a wicked smile at them.
"Ah, good." She spoke. "The more guests, the merrier! You all must have changed your minds about staying here after all. If not, well, as you can see with all of your friends in the state that you see them all right now, you will all regret it."
