Izaya sat the envelope on the coffee table, and gestured for Shizuo to sit down on the couch. Shizuo hesitated, raising an eyebrow before he sat down. "So what is this?" He asked, oddly calmer than he usually is around the informant. "Some old reports and newspaper clippings on a missing person from ten years ago." Izaya replied bluntly taking out the first picture in the file. He then handed the picture to Shizuo. Shizuo looked down at the picture, and his honey eyes slowly widened.
The picture was of a young looking man, tall and lean. He wore a long black trench coat that had a red lining, a black almost cowboy like hat and matching boots. The man was very similar to how Deadwolv looks. This man even had very vivid practically glowing blue eyes. The only difference was this man had no weapons, claws, or blades on the brim of his hat. "James Wolv. He was an immigrant, and went missing ten years ago, on March fifth." Izaya said. Shizuo looked at Izaya unsure what to say. "A week later his bullet riddled body was found, most likely killed by a gang, or even the Yakuza. Interesting how this man vanished on March fifth ten years ago, and this year on March fifth was the first reported sighting of Deadwolv. James wolv is dead, hence the name Deadwolv." Izaya said with a coy smile.
"So you are telling me some guy who got himself killed ten years ago has come back from the dead, and is now attacking people?" Shizuo asked the informant. "It would appear so. And would explain why he is seemingly impossible to kill, already being dead and all. As for why he is attacking people, perhaps it is as simple of a motive as revenge. He is killing those who are , or at the very least he believes are responsible for his death." Izaya explained. "You don't believe it's him though do you?" Shizuo asked, knowing the way Izaya spoke hinted he didn't even believe what he was saying. Shizuo may not have been the brightest man in Ikebukuro, but he knew Izaya well enough to know when he is hiding something.
"Well to be honest, I am unsure. It makes allot of sense. The appearance, the name, the dates, and the fact he can take bullets. But at the same time it could just be someone impersonating him, and wearing a strong bullet proof vest under the shirt and coat. So, I neither believe or disbelieve it yet. I simply want more info before I make my judgement. Once I know for sure who and what it is, then I can figure a plan on how to stop them. After all if it is merely a man playing ghost, then stopping him shouldn't be hard once the police know his true identity. But, if it is an actual ghoul back from the dead. Well it will be harder to stop him. Though not impossible." Izaya explained.
"So why tell me this. Just so I didn't kill you?" Shizuo asked. "Partially, yes. Though there is another reason. As much as I hate to admit it. But until this monster is dealt with it would be best for me if our little cat and mouse game was put on hold. Sort of a truce. After all, I am the only one smart enough of catching the monster, and your the only one strong enough to take it down in a fight if needed." Izaya said, looking at Shizuo. The debt collector stared at Izaya. For once, he believed Izaya was actually being honest with him. And worse still, Izaya was probably the only person capable of solving this mystery. Which meant despite how much it would annoy him, if Shizuo wanted the attacks to stop, he would have to not only stop fighting with Izaya for now. But he would even have to trust the damned bastard flea.
"So, a temporary truce. Until Deadwolv is gone." Izaya said, his crimson brown eyes staring into Shizuo's honey eyes. The informant reached his hand towards Shizuo's hand to shake on the deal. Shizuo mumbled something, that Izaya guessed was most likely some unsavory curse words. The blond then sighed and nodded. "Fine, a truce. For now." He said in almost a growl, refusing to shake the informant's hand, as if the action would risk cursing him, or selling his soul to the devil. Izaya smiled. "Good. For now, I need to learn more about James Wolv. If Deadwolv truly is him, it's best to know his full story and know what sort of person he was. Sometimes to defeat the dead, you can find their weakness you must learn what they were like when they were alive. " Izaya stated going back to his desk for some research. "You can show yourself out Shizu~chan. If I learn anything useful I'll let you know." He said gesturing for Shizuo to leave. Shizuo bit his lip, as to not say anything unpleasant, and got up leaving the apartment.
