Chapter 139 (Christmas Special)

*Mercy and Team Spirit vs Lacey Evans and the IIconics*

The crowd was lead outside where they surrounded a very wide, snowy field filled with hills and small white castles on the far ends. Inside of one castle stood Mercy, Starla, and Isebella surrounding a green flag. In the other castle, the trio of Lacey Evans, Billie Kay, and Peyton Royce surrounded a flag as well, but this one was red.

"All right, everyone!" Sayuri announced. "The following match is a classic game of capture the flag! You know the rules: first to claim both flags into their respective bases first wins! Representing the Xtrema team, we have Mercy and Team Spirit, Starla and Isebella! Representing WWE, we have Lacey Evans, Billie Kay, and Peyton Royce! Mercy and Evans will lead their respective teams for their military background, so good luck to both teams!"

DING-DING!

"So what's the plan?" Starla asked.

"You two stay here and guard the flag." Mercy said. "I'll go on ahead and go on the offensive for the flag."

"Really?" Starla asked. "You want to take on all three opponents at the same time? The odds aren't really in your favor."

"Yeah." Isebella agreed. "Why don't me and Starla go ahead while you defend the flag?"

Mercy gave the two a stern glare. "Are you questioning my leadership?"

The teens sighed and answered simultaneously, "No."

"That's better." Mercy said before running out of the castle.

As their leader left, Starla turned to her best friend. "We should probably come up with a plan ourselves."

"Yeah." Isebella said. She looked down at the snow she stood on and scooped up a handful. "And I think I got one."

Out in the snowy field, Mercy stopped running and kept her senses sharp. She looked around in every direction while keeping her ears out for any unusual noises. That's when she heard a pair of footsteps stepping closer to her. She quickly turned her attention and saw both Billie Kay and Peyton Royce standing before her. They gave cocky smiles and twirled their hair.

"So you two are the offensive team?" Mercy chuckled cracking her knuckles. "That's fine. I can take you both."

"Oh, you misunderstand. Does she misunderstand, Peyton?" Billie asked.

"Oh, she does." Peyton laughed. "Listen, freak, it's not just us two on the offensive."

Before Mercy could ask anything else, she was caught by surprise from behind when a hand reached around her head and grabbed her arm. She was then pulled into a cobra clutch hold. While she struggled, she could hear the laughter of Lacey Evans.

"Looks like this little nasty doesn't have eyes in the back of her head." Lacey mocked. "All right, you two. Head to the castle while I teach this wannabe a lesson."

"You got it." Both IIconics said. They turned around and headed to the castle while Mercy tried to power out of the hold she was in.

Billie and Peyton had no issues reaching the enemy castle. They slapped a high five together as they headed in, but their smiles instantly dropped to find nothing but a blanket of snow covering the floor. They stepped forward and looked around, but nothing could be found. Not Starla, not Isebella, and certainly not the flag.

"Hey. What's the deal?" Peyton asked. "Where's the flag?"

"Where are the babies?" Billie asked.

All of a sudden, a hand burst out of the snow behind Peyton Royce and grabbed her by the ankle. She yelled and fell flat into the snow. Billie gasped in surprise before she too was ambushed. Starla quickly stood up with the flag in her hand and used it to strike at Billie from behind.

"Who are you calling a baby?" Starla taunted planting the flag down. "You ready, Isebella?"

"Born ready." Isebella replied. She and Starla grabbed the IIconics by their shoulders and forced them to their feet.

Team Spirit Irish whipped them toward each other, but the IIconics quickly recovered and fixed their position to avoid collision. They continued running until they both landed kicks on the teens' faces knocking them down.

Peyton grabbed the flag and removed it from where it was posted. "Okay, Billie. Let's head on back."

"You go on." Billie said glaring down at Starla and Isebella as they started to get up. "I'm going to teach these brats a lesson in trying to get the drop on us."

"That'll work." Peyton said as she rushed out of the castle.

Isebella was the first to stand back up and Billie rushed at her with her finishing move, the Shades of Kay. However, before she could land it, she was surprised yet again by Starla, who grabbed her from behind in a rear waistlock. She tried to elbow her head and free herself, but she didn't have enough time. Isebella recovered and retaliated with a clothesline while her partner added in a German suplex.

Billie Kay was down and Team Spirit stood proud. But their pride came to an end as they remembered their situation.

"Peyton!" Isebella gasped. "We gotta go stop her!"

"Lead the way!" Starla commanded.

Meanwhile, Lacey Evans still had Mercy in the cobra clutch. Mercy thrashed about refusing to fall unconscious.

"Damn, you're a stubborn girl, ain't ya?" Lacey asked trying to choke the air out of her opponent.

"I'm not going down!" Mercy growled. "I rid myself of all weaknesses in the army!"

"So what? I got my strength from the Marines." Lacey returned.

Mercy gritted her teeth both from the struggle and the dialogue. Then, her eyes locked themselves to the distance where she saw Peyton Royce running to her team's castle with Team Spirit giving chase. Mercy growled menacingly before thrusting her elbow back and driving it into Lacey Evans' stomach causing her to gasp out. She did it two more times before Lacey let go. Mercy then grabbed Lacey's wrist and pulled her in with a clothesline. She then landed one last elbow drop for good measure.

After stunning Lacey for the moment, Mercy turned to the direction of the chase she witnessed and sprinted as fast as she could. "If those two lose the flag, I'm going to court martial them!"

Peyton could see her team's castle in eyesight. She smiled as she ran closer, but Team Spirit caught up to her. They each grabbed a different end of the flag and stopped running making Peyton run her body into it.

Starla and Isebella planted the flag in the snow and forced Peyton Royce to her feet. Starla held her arms back while her partner kicked Peyton in the stomach. She then chopped her twice before she joined Starla behind Peyton. They both grabbed her by her waist and threw her back with a German suplex that they both launched together.

"Take that!" Isebella shouted.

"Hey! You two!"

Team Spirit turned their heads at Mercy, who stomped her army boots to their direction.

"What the hell just happened?!" Mercy asked.

"The IIconics almost won the match." Isebella said. "Thankfully, we wouldn't let them."

Mercy sighed. "Children. Well, let's just take their flag and return to our base." She entered the castle and found the red flag Lacey's team owned. After taking it and their own flag back, she and Team Spirit turned to run across the field.

They didn't get far, however. Lacey Evans revealed herself as she stepped up in front of them making them stop.

"You ain't going nowhere." Lacey stated.

"We'll see about that." Mercy said. "There are three of us and only one of you."

"Are you sure about that?" Billie Kay asked as she appeared suddenly right beside Lacey.

Mercy growled. "Fine then. You two, take care of Kay. I'll finish this bitch."

"All right, Mercy." Starla said as she and Isebella dropped both their flags. They then ran over to Billie Kay and tackled her. The IIconics member stayed on her feet and started pounding her fists on their backs before they pulled her legs and sent her down. They both sat above her and threw their own punches.

Meanwhile, Mercy and Lacey charged at each other and collided on each other's bodies. They turned themselves around before falling on the snow. The two grappled for control matching each other's strengths. In the end, Mercy managed to get herself on Lacey Evan's back and grab her by her hair. She then repeatedly bashed Lacey's face in the snow before the Sassy Southern Belle shot her elbow up and strike her in the face.

Suddenly, as Mercy recovered, she was kicked in the stomach by surprise. But much to her own confusion, the one who kicked her was not Lacey Evans, but Peyton Royce. She then grabbed Mercy and threw her back with her finishing move, the Venus Fly Trap. But that wasn't the end of her. Lacey Evans laughed as she grabbed Mercy's hair and forced her up to her feet where she then delivered the Women's Right sending her right down.

By the time Team Spirit knew what was going on, they couldn't defend themselves. They turned just as Lacey Evans hit Starla with another Women's Right. Peyton then shot a kick to Isebella knocking her off of Billie, who she helped right back up.

"Well, now that that's done," Lacey Evans said picking up both flags from the snow, "I'll go and bring these two back home. The rest of you take this win. You've earned it."

The IIconics grinned as Lacey left. Peyton Royce grabbed Isebella and put her in a side headlock position. She then ran with a bulldog dropping her right on Billie Kay's knee. The two of them then planted their feet on Mercy's chest while Lacey planted both flags at her base.

DING-DING!

"And that's the game! Team Mercy had a risky strategy, but they fought hard! Unfortunately, Lacey Evans and her IIconics won the battle! Maybe even the war if this doesn't escalate! Either way, Lacey and the IIconics win while Mercy and Team Spirit get the ugly sweaters!"

*Liza Surkova vs Shayna Baszler*

The audience was then directed to the jumbotron which showed the inside of a two-story house that was decorated inside and outside with Christmas presents. And inside the living room of that house, right near the Christmas tree, stood two MMA fighters, each from different wrestling organizations; Liza Surkova for Xtrema and Shayna Baszler for WWE. The two of them stood face to face giving each other tough gazes while Sayuri made her announcement.

"This here is a new match with a new set of rules! These two hardcore brawlers are to fight in a no-holds-barred battle around this very house! The fight ends on the rooftop where the chimney waits! Whoever can throw her opponent down the chimney will be the winner!"

DING-DING!

Liza wasted no time charging at Shayna and shoulder tackling her. She sent her crashing to the wall where she rammed her knee into her stomach three times before Shayna stopped her and reversed their positions. She turned Liza around and slammed her head to the wall twice before Liza threw her elbow to her head knocking her off.

Liza grabbed the nearby Christmas tree and pushed it over landing it right at Shayna. Once it hit her, it disoriented her enough for Liza to grab two large presents and hurl them at Shayna getting her to move behind the living room couch. Liza then ran over to the couch and jumped on it. She dropped back down on Shayna throwing a strong punch across her face knocking her down.

After knocking Shayna Baszler to the ground, Liza Surkova dropped down to lock her in a side headlock while keeping her on the ground. She kept the hold on tightly while using her free hand to punch her in the face. Finally, Shayna rolled out of the hold and reversed it into a hammerlock. She forced Liza up to her feet and forced her to run to the nearest window. She ran so hard, she managed to crash Liza right through the window.

After throwing Liza out, Shayna climbed through the window and rolled her over so her back would lay down on the snowy backyard. With a sadistic smile, she positioned Liza's arm with her bent knee pointed upwards. She then stomped on it shooting an intense amount of pain in her right arm, which Shayna continued to kick at. She then picked Liza up by her hurt arm and drop it onto her knees. Liza yelled out with her arm spasming.

With Liza taken out by her injured arm, Shayna turned and found a ladder that headed up. Of course, she planned on climbing it up to the roof, but she decided to use it to injure Liza one last time. She forced Liza up and placed her injured arm on top of one of the ladder rungs. She was about to bend it over, but Liza stopped her by using her free hand to grab her by her head and slam it onto the ladder.

Shayna was dazed by the strike to her head, and Liza decided to capitalize on it. She looked around the backyard until she found a fully dressed snowman with buttons for eyes, a corncob pipe, a hat, a scarf, and a broomstick in its stick hands. Ignoring her sore arm, Liza ripped off the snowman's head and thrusted it on Shayna hitting her with the thick, heavy snow. The impact scattered the snowman's parts all over Shayna.

Liza returned to the snowman and removed the broomstick from its hands, which she then used to strike at Shayna's body. Once she was done, she threw the broomstick away and picked up the scarf from Shayna's body. She then headed to the ladder and started to climb up. She made it to the top of the house and stood on the flat surface. She then looked down to keep an eye on Shayna Baszler, who slowly but surely got back up with ferocity in her eyes like a wild animal. She followed Liza up the ladder and met her face to face. The chimney was right beside them. All one of them had to do was throw the other one into it.

Liza and Shayna rushed at each other again, only more viciously. They both clashed and landed on the ground. They rolled on top of each other trading blows until Shayna was on top and Liza used one of her legs to push her off. She stood back up and kicked Shayna. She picked her up ready to land a vertical suplex, but Shayna used her opponent's hurt arm to her advantage and punch it while she was up. Liza couldn't hang on and Shayna landed behind her. She then quickly trapped Liza in the Kirifuda Clutch. Liza fought hard against it for a long time, but she fell to near unconsciousness.

With her opponent weak enough to finish, Shayna began heading to the chimney. However, she didn't get very far before tripping. She looked at her feet to find a scarf tied around her legs. Liza clearly tied it while trying to escape the Kirifuda Clutch. Shayna reached her hands to her legs to remove the scarf. When she did, she picked Liza up again and dragged her to the chimney. She pushed her just to the edge to shove her in, but Liza gripped the side of the chimney just in time to save herself. Shayna tried pushing harder, but Liza stayed put and returned with an elbow to Shayna's gut.

Liza freed herself and grabbed Shayna slamming her head to the chimney's edge. Shayna was left dazed until Liza shot her leg up to kick her squarely at the side of her head. It sent her flat on the roof. With her nearly out, Liza used her uninjured arm to pick Shayna up and roughly push her into the chimney.

DING-DING!

"And just like that, the match is over! Both women were brutal in their shared fighting style, but in the end, it's Liza Surkova who picked up the win! Once Shayna is removed from the chimney, she's going to have an ugly sweater waiting for her!"

*Scarlette vs Asuka*

Everyone turned their attention back to the ring where a tall Christmas tree stood at the center of the mat. Standing just outside the ring are two well-loved wrestlers who kept their eyes on each other. Scarlette tried to look serious, but Asuka just looked at her with an open mouth smile.

"This is it, everybody! For our next match, we have a Christmas Star match! This particular match acts similarly to a ladder match, only instead of removing something after a long climb, you have to put something on! In this case, the tree's star! Whoever locks it on top of the tree first wins! Will it be Xtrema's red wrestler, Scarlette, or WWE's Empress of Tomorrow, Asuka? Let's see who!"

DING-DING!

Scarlette looked for an early start by clotheslining Asuka, but the Empress of Tomorrow dropped herself backwards to dodge it and kick herself back up. When Scarlette turned back around, Asuka shot her a kick at her, but Scarlette caught it in her hands. Asuka, however, was ready for that as she shot an enzuigiri kick to Scarlette with her other foot.

After the kick, Asuka stood up and climbed up into the ring. She looked around and found the Christmas star resting at the bottom of the tree. She grabbed it and started to climb. However, she didn't make it far. Scarlette had already recovered and grabbed her by her leg. She dropped her down to land on her feet before Scarlette grabbed Asuka by her head and slam it onto her rising knee. She grabbed Asuka by her wrist and threw her to the ropes making her drop the star. When Asuka returned from the ropes, Scarlette hit her with a dropkick so hard, it sent Asuka through the ropes and back outside the ring.

Scarlette grabbed the star and started climbing up the tree. Gripping and stepping on each branch as she ascended, Scarlette was careful not to slip or break a branch and fall. She was just halfway up when she felt a hand wrap around her calf. She looked down and saw Asuka who climbed up to catch up to her. She rose herself up to be side by side with Scarlette sharing the same branch as here.

Asuka delivered the first slap catching Scarlette by surprise. Enraged, the red masked wrestler, threw a punch, but Asuka leaned her head back to dodge it. She threw it back forward to headbutt her. She grabbed the star in her hand and pushed Scarlette off, but Scarlette didn't let go of the star. Instead, she fell off the tree while pulling it out of Asuka's hands. Scarlette landed back on the mat feeling a great pain shoot through her body.

Asuka was getting a little annoyed by the star that kept slipping out of her hands. So carefully, she began to climb down the tree. But when she saw Scarlette start to get up on her hands and knees, she decided to throw caution out the window. She jumped off the tree to land back-first onto Scarlette's prone body. However, the red wrestler rolled away at the last second letting Asuka crash instead. Unfortunately, she forgot to take the star with her and it broke into pieces by Asuka's fall.

"Well, this is unfortunate." Sayuri announced. "Fortunately, we have a spare star in case this happened. It'll be out in a couple of minutes. Whatever happens in the meantime… Well, that's up to the competitors."

With no star to hang up, all the wrestlers had to do was wear each other down. Scarlette and Asuka groaned as they rolled to the ropes and used them to pick themselves up. Although Asuka had a searing pain on her back, she powered through it as she confronted her opponent.

Asuka recovered a half-second sooner, so she took advantage by firing a kick at Scarlette's head. Fortunately for her, she ducked out of the way at the last second and countered with a pumphandle suplex. She then capitalized on it with a guillotine hold to keep Asuka down and to try and render her unconscious.

Asuka struggled in the grip until she pushed herself up and pulled herself out of the hold. She then got behind Scarlette and began the process of the Asuka Lock. Scarlette, being the quick thinker that she was, grabbed Asuka's arms to keep her from locking in her finishing hold. They both rolled around the ring until they stopped with Asuka on top of Scarlette still trying to lock in her lock. At that moment, a ring crew member ran from the entrance and slid a brand new star in the ring.

Seeing the star in front of her, Scarlette felt more motivated to escape. So with every strength she had, she lifted herself up with Asuka on top of her and ran backwards crashing her to the corner. Asuka was forced to release her. Scarlette then struck with her elbow and ram her knee into Asuka's stomach. She then lifted Asuka up and threw her outside the ring like this was a Royal Rumble.

Scarlette was tired and exhausted, but she knew she had to finish the match. She grabbed the star and began her ascent up the tree. Like before, she was careful not to fall. Finally, she reached the top of the tree. Her smile grew as big as her hope. She proceeded to place the star on the tree's top.

However, she didn't finish hooking the star before Asuka's hand came out of nowhere and grabbed Scarlette by her wrist. She was surprised to see the Empress of Tomorrow facing her from the other side of the tree laughing.

"No one… is… READY FOR ASUKA!" Asuka yelled before blowing out a blast of green mist from her mouth. It made impact with Scarlette's face and burned her eyes making her yell in pain. Asuka easily pulled the star out of Scarlette's hands before pushing her off of the tree letting her crash through the announce table outside. Asuka then had no trouble securing the star on top of the tree.

DING-DING!

"Asuka wins! Both she and Scarlette pulled off one hell of a match, even when there was no available star in the ring! Scarlette was so close to securing her win, but the Empress of Tomorrow pulled off a surprise mist followed by a surprise win! Now, onto the next match!"
