Title: You're My Everything
Chapter 9
***One Month Later***
(The time has finally come. Jordan Ashford is officially at Kevin and Laura's penthouse. Jordan has Officer Cabrera take off Spence's ankle monitor. Rory was a little uncomfortable being there knowing Trina chose Spencer. However, he kept it professional)
Jordan: "Thank you, Officer Cabrera. I appreciate it."
Rory: (nods) "Commissioner."
(Trina was right by Spencer and they smiled at each other that Spencer was finally free)
Rory: (nods) "Congratulations, Spencer. I'm sure you're relieved to have the ankle monitor finally off and be free."
Spencer: (smiles politely) "Thank you, Rory."
(Rory smiles politely at Trina and nods)
Rory: "I hope you're happy, too. That's all I've ever wanted for you, Trina."
Trina: (smiles) "Thank you. I want you to be happy, too."
(Rory and Jordan leave. Out in the hallway, Jordan offers her apologies that things didn't work out with Trina. Rory just shrugs that sometimes relationships don't. They exit the building)
(Back in Laura and Kevin's penthouse, Spencer takes Trina in his arms and they laugh happily as he is finally free)
Spencer: "I'm finally free, baby!"
Trina: "Yay!"
Laura: "You deserve it, honey. Now, we can put this nightmare behind us."
Spencer: "Ah, amen to that!"
(Trina is currently in Spencer's arms, but she breaks free)
Trina: "Oh, by the way, since Mayor Collins…"
Laura: (chuckles) "Trina, please, call me Laura."
Trina: (nods) "Okay. Since Laura kindly invited me over for supper awhile ago, my mom and Curtis wanted to extend the same courtesy to you, Spencer."
(Spencer tenderly kisses Trina's palm)
Spencer: "I would love that. When should I come?"
Trina: (grins) "How about tonight? Mom's making lasagna and garlic toast. I told her there was a possibility of you coming. She's anxious for you to come."
Spencer: (nods) "I'm excited to be there. I know it'll be a little nerve-wracking because I'm 'officially' meeting your family for the first time."
(Trina rests her hand on her boyfriend's chest)
Trina: "Just be your caring, true self and they will love you…" (smiles) "…just like I do. You're already a winner in my book, Spencer Cassadine."
Spencer: (grins) "Thank you. You bring out the best in me. I could not ask for a more loving girlfriend than you, Trina Robinson."
Laura: (nods & smiles) "I'm very happy for you two."
Spencer: "Thank you, grandmother." (to Trina) "I'm going to get cleaned up and changed so I'm presentable for your mom and Curtis."
Trina: (shakes her head) "You don't have to go out of your way, Spencer. Everything will be okay."
Spencer: (slightly sighs) "Baby, I want to make a good first impression. I know your mom doesn't think very highly of me. I want to change that. Judging from the times I've spoken to Curtis, he sounds a bit more understanding. If your mom doesn't like me after tonight, that would break my heart."
Trina: (concerned) "Would you stop dating me or loving me?"
Spencer: (shakes his head) "Not a chance. I'm yours for life, for as long as you want me. I just want your mom on our side, too."
Trina: (nods) "I want that, too." (determined face) "But, I will NOT sacrifice our relationship to please my mother."
(Trina's phone beeps. It's a text from Portia. Supper in forty-five minutes. Bring Spencer if he can make it. Trina kisses Spencer before speaking)
Trina: "Mom is looking forward to you coming. Supper's in forty-five minutes. Come when you are done getting ready."
Spencer: "Yes, ma'am."
(Trina leaves. Laura, who briefly left the room to give the lovebirds alone time, comes back after hearing the door open and shut)
Laura: "Are you nervous about going over to Trina's house for supper?"
Spencer: "To be honest, yes, a little. I want to do right by her, grandmother."
(Laura rests her hands on Spencer's shoulders and smiles)
Laura: "Just be yourself and that loving young man who is committed to Trina. You'll do just fine." (nods) "I have complete faith in you."
Spencer: "I appreciate it more than you know."
(Laura and Spencer embrace and then he goes upstairs to go get ready)
***Almost An hour Later***
(Spencer is dressed to impressed in a pair of blue jeans and blue long sleeve shirt. He was so glad to be done with the ankle monitor as it was starting to hurt his ankle. He was at the front door of Trina's house)
(After knocking, Trina answered the door. She embraces him and then lets him in. He surprises his girl with a rose. She looks at him a bit stunned)
Spencer: "I wanted to do this right. I got that for you. I got this small bouquet of flowers for your mom. I wanted to get something more…" (chuckles nervously) "…but grandmother kindly told me not to overdo it tonight."
Trina: (nods) "I see your grandmother's point."
(Trina lightly kisses Spencer's cheek and smiles)
Trina: "You did awesome with the flowers."
(Curtis and Portia come out of the kitchen and see Spencer with Trina)
Curtis: (smiles) "Hey, Spencer. Glad you could make it."
Portia: (grins) "Welcome, Spencer."
(Trina and Spencer approach Curtis and Portia. Spencer gives Portia the bouquet of flowers, which catches her by surprise)
Portia: "Oh, thank you." (chuckles)
Curtis: "Very nice of you, Spencer."
Spencer: "I wanted to start everything right." (sighs) "Dr. Robinson, I know you have reservations about me dating your daughter. Because of my past and the fact that I am a Cassadine. Please know that I am trying to be a better person and I want to do right by your daughter."
(Trina cannot help but smile at Spencer's heartfelt confession to her mother. Hearing this made her love him even more, if that were possible)
(Trina could not help but offer her two cents on Spencer's declaration)
Trina: "Mom, I promise you. Spencer is a good guy. He treats me well. You know full well if he didn't, I wouldn't be with him. I love him."
(Spencer takes Trina in his arms and nods)
Spencer: "Dr. Robinson, your daughter is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I hope I have your and Curtis' blessing to continue seeing her."
(Portia looked at Spencer and then Trina before her and Curtis connected eyes. It was as if they knew what the other was thinking and nodded)
Portia: "I will admit, Spencer, I had my doubts in the very beginning. Not only because of your past actions, but yes, because of who your father and uncle are. I know they influence you." (sighs deeply)
"However, after hearing everything from Trina and witnessing your actions as of late…" (smiles & nods) "I know you love my daughter, Spencer. I just needed to see it for myself." (serious tone) "However, if you ever hurt my daughter, you will answer to me, understood?"
Curtis: "Same goes for me, too. I do think you are good for Trina. But, if you ever hurt her, we will have words."
Spencer: (nods) "Understood. I completely understand."
Portia: "Okay, now that we got everything out in the open and on the table, lets eat. I'm sure everyone's hungry."
(Everyone gathers at the kitchen table after Portia and Curtis put the food on the table. Everyone agrees the food looks great. Curtis and Portia sit on one side of the table with Trina and Spencer on the other side. They all dig in and enjoy the meal)
