Day 6: flowers
The sun shined down on The Edge and the screaming of the Night Terrors signaled that morning was upon the island. Heather sat up and stretched her arms over her head, looking over at the bed beside her she noticed that Astrid was already awake, probably out on a morning flight with Hiccup. Putting on her armor and grabbing her axe, she walked out of the hut breathing in the morning air and feeling the warmth of the sun on her face. With nothing else to occupy her time at the moment, Heather decided to take a walk around the Edge. She stopped when she saw Fishlegs tending to his garden and watched on in amazement, he was always so gentle and detail-oriented and she loved that about him.
"Good morning Heather. Oh, come here the morning glory has started blooming!" Heather smiled at her boyfriend before walking over to where he was working.
"It's going to look beautiful Fishlegs, I can't wait to see the full bloom," Heather said as she ever so slightly touched the delicate plant. "These represent affection right?"
"Someone's been reading my botanical notes again," Fishlegs teased, playfully nudging Heather.
"What, they are pretty interesting okay," Heather replied, trying to hide her pink-tinted cheeks. "What are these ones," she asked as a way to change the subject. Fishlegs looked over at the small white flowers that Heather had pointed to. Fishlegs could feel his own cheeks heating up, this was not how he had planned on gifting them to Heather and he wasn't sure how she would react to learning the meaning they had.
"Oh, those are baby's breaths. I planted them specifically for you." Taking a deep breath he continued, "They represent everlasting love." Heather turned her head over to Fishlegs, a questioning look on her face.
"Do you really think we're going to be together forever," she asked with an air of surprise in her voice.
"Well, I definitely hope so. I love you so much and I can't imagine a world without you," Fishlegs answered, placing a hand on her own. Heather smiled at him, moving her other hand to caress his cheek and giving him a loving kiss. "That's so sweet of you, I love it and I love you. I hope we're always together."
