Day 2
Sally kissed her sons head, hands trembling.
"Mom, I can't leave you." Percy's voice shook.
"Look at me." She said sharply.
Percy looked up at her, in surprise with teary eyes.
"Go. Get Grover to safety." She ordered heart pounding, chest aching.
"But…"
"Promise me." She allowed to let some of her desperation into her voice.
"I promise."
Sally squeezed her son's hand.
A roar echoed over the hills, Percy stopped in his descent over the hill, holding Grover, to keep him on his feet. He glanced at his Mom with fear.
"Go!" She ordered.
A flash of lightning illuminated the grassy area; a large bullish shape could be seen. It was then she knew that she wasn't going to let that Minotaur near her son. Her heart was pounding so fast she could hear it; she grabbed the nearest thing, which happened to be a rock, and tossed it at the beast's feet.
The creature roared and charged, but she didn't move, she was frozen to the ground. It stopped a few feet away and got to its full height. Everything seemed to slow as the thing towered over her she swallowed. She had to buy time; she had to let the boys get to safety. The creature sniffed the air and growled softly as if puzzled why a mortal was standing in his way. He stamped his foot, but she didn't even flinch. The bull growled, still she never moved not so much as shaking, as the bull lost his patience and grabbed her.
Her breath caught, the Minotaur had a look of hatred in his eyes. The bull got an evil grin as he squeezed, she couldn't breathe, her heart stuttered in her chest. Pain lanced her nerves, her ribs felt like they were going to crack, she gasped desperately for air. The bull squeezed tighter, and she almost screamed she couldn't draw air into her lungs, black spots danced in her vision; she clawed at the bull's hand. She couldn't take much more of this she was going to die, strangely that only made her more determined to keep, beef breaths attention till she was sure the boys were safe.
Percy's scream sounded as if it was underwater, just as she was certain that she was going to be crushed, a strange cold seeped into her bones, and everything went black.
She gasped, and blinked, her vision was blurry and every inch of her body screamed at her, she was in some sort of throne room. It was made of obsidian. She was lying at the foot of the throne; a figure stepped down from the throne and came into her view. He was a tall, thin, and pale man with shoulder length greasy black hair; his robes were the same black as the walls. She wondered if this is what Professor Snape from Harry Potter would look like if he were real. As he reached the base of the stairs, the room started spinning and she passed out.
A/N: Well that turned out longer than expected. Hope you enjoyed it though.
