"You haven't gotten anything from the avionics?" Darnley asked.

"Did you hear me?" Skye asked Castle since he was walking inside with a glass. While he was handing it to her, he nodded, and she was about to speak when her wife was urging her to drink. Glancing at her, she turned her attention to the water and took some sips before she set it on the table to her left. "Okay, then Trevor and I were able to look at the electronics on the plane. Since the first responders were there the damage wasn't that bad and we managed to get a serial code."

"Wouldn't that mean you do have something?" Castle asked.

Shaking her head Skye said, "That particular unit was stolen from the store it was in."

"And you'll be getting that soon," Darnley told her.

"Unfortunately no," Skye said. "It was stolen two years ago."

"Two years ago," Castle said. He frowned and then said, "You know we should ask the CEOs about that."

"We did," Beckett reminded him. "There's nothing they can think of. But we might want to ask the people who knew Kipling." When she saw the others were looking at her, she said, "He seems to be connected."

"I would, anything would be great at this point," Skye said, settling back.

"Rose," Mary said firmly. "What happened?"

"The victims rushed me," Skye said honestly.

"And you let them," Mary said in obvious annoyance.

"Yeah, I allowed them all to rush into me," Skye said sarcastically. She then sighed and said, "Mary, you know I wouldn't do that. It turns out they were a little upset with me. I was supposed to talk to Lyla."

"And she spoke to you," Beckett said.

"No," Skye said, reaching for the glass again. "The shock of it left me…" she started to say before looking at her wife. "I couldn't speak to her."

"And you still aren't," Mary said firmly.

Glancing at her wife out of the corner of her eye Skye said, "Yeah, I figured that. But she has something she needs to tell me." She paused for a moment and then said, "I think about whoever picked her up." She then stood and said, "I almost forgot. Brad and Aspinall were able to lock down the car that she got into but just the model and color of course."

"Garnett," Darnley said.

"Yeah," Skye replied. "I'm sorry I can't have her tell me."

"I wonder if Aspinall would really be okay with that," Beckett said. "He'd have to put it in his report, wouldn't he?"

"Yeah, I've been thinking of that," Skye said with a snort. "The only thing, if that's what Lyla wants to tell me, is that we would have to… manipulate the information Andrews gave you… which I'm pretty sure you're not going to do."

"You don't need to worry about that now," Mary said sternly. "I'm serious," she said at the look her wife gave her. "I bet you anything Brad and Aspinall told you to take it easy the rest of the day."

"They did," Skye admitted after a moment's pause. "And I'm going to need to, for now." When her wife immediately looked angry, she held up her hand before informing her, "We're so close grá, what if this is the last thing I need to close this?"

Sighing while she was studying her wife's face, Mary eventually said, "Alright, but not until I'm sure you're able to do it," looking at her pointedly until the investigator was nodding and speaking.

"Good enough, it might not be until later today though," Skye said.

"Are you going to go back to work?" Beckett asked.

Smiling as she studied her friend's expression, Skye said, "Mary wouldn't let me."

Rolling her eyes the doctor said, "They won't let you either."

"Well naturally," Skye commented.

"I think she'll be fine," Castle told Mary.

"Of course she is," the doctor replied.

"I am feeling better," Skye said, beginning to stand before her wife was grabbing her hand. "And that's all I have."

"Was Brad just letting the store where the electronics were sold be?" Darnley asked.

"No, he's going to assign… someone to find the cashier who was there when it was stolen," Skye said. "It was the day before Thanksgiving, and they were only opened for a few hours so there was only one person working that day." She glanced at the whiteboard leaning against the shelves and said, "You didn't think of anything new?"

"We couldn't," Castle said.

"Did you see the footage of the plane crash?" Skye asked, turning to her wife.

"I watched everything you had," Mary responded with a brief nod. "And they were playing with Kipling's body. Which I would say means they hated him, doubly. Because they could have thrown his body in that field, on the side of the road somewhere. But they flew the plane around, so he'd be found too."

"That one is to boast about what they were able to do," Skye said firmly. "If it's directed to the NTSB…" She shrugged then before she said, "It doesn't matter either way, they're obviously still here."

"Does that make you think they're going to kill more people?" Beckett asked her.

Hesitating, Skye glanced at her wife before she said, "I can't say for sure. There are counterfeit parts out there, there may be another plane crash though airlines have taken the FAA directive to heart luckily and they're trying to find any other parts."

"But personally?" Castle then asked.

"That's not my area of expertise," Skye answered. She leaned back and said, "But I would guess Kipling is one of your victims because he got in the way."

"I think that was all our theory," Darnley said.

"It makes more sense than anything I can think of," Castle said quickly when his wife and the carpenter looked at him. "And to be honest I'm not sure it's the time to joke about this."

"I appreciate that," Skye said, standing after she'd given her wife a look. "And so does Trevor." She got her phone from her pocket before she put it away saying, "There's nothing for me right now and I've rested."

"And I think I'm going to head back home," Darnley said. "Joseph texted me," he told everyone since they were looking at him. "They're back home with the kids and they're asking for me and Trev."

"We'll have to leave soon," Beckett said, looking at her watch and then at her husband before they were turning to Mary when she was speaking.

"You should take Josie too," the doctor said.

"That was the plan," Castle said.

"Pool again?" Skye asked her wife in surprise after she'd studied her expression. "Am I allowed to play too?"

"Yes," Mary said firmly before they heard a chime.

"That'll be our parents," Castle said when they were leaving the office in time for them to see Josie scurrying out of the game room. "We have her," he told Alexis when she appeared in the doorway.

"Thanks, she wanted to go to you guys," the young woman replied with a smile while she stepped out into the hallway.

"We're going to leave for the school once they're inside," Beckett said, checking the time again. "Skye and Mary are going to stay with you."

"I had a feeling," Alexis said, rubbing her stomach absently. "You're going to have to hurry," she said.

"Once they're here," Castle said as they began walking to the foyer. He got Darnley's coat for him, not surprised when Beckett was talking to him about the case as soon as he had it on.

"Are you going to look into anything?" she asked.

"You mean once I'm back home?" Darnley asked with a smile. At his friend's nod he said, "To be honest I'm not. The kids are going to want to play once they finish their homework." He looked at his watch and said, "And because they don't have that much for homework… if anything I better go."

Saying goodbye to Darnley as he opened the front door, Beckett turned to her husband and said, "Ready?"

"Yeah, you aren't though," Castle said, letting Josie go since he'd been helping her get her outer layers on.

"I don't need that much time," Beckett said, grabbing her coat. As she was slipping her arms through the sleeves, she could hear their parents and told her husband, "You better tell them to stay out there, we need to go."

"We heard," Jim said, stepping inside after Martha had. "You're home," he said in surprise.

"How did you hear-" Skye said, since he'd been addressing her.

"Trevor called his father," Martha answered. "And he told us what had happened, luckily the children were still in school."

"We need to go," Beckett said firmly since she'd finished putting her scarf on.

"We're ready," Jim said quickly.

"Go with them Gram," Alexis said. "Skye and Mary are staying with me."

"Playing another round of pool," the investigator said in amusement.

Watching her family leave, Alexis said when Mary had closed and locked the front door, "You're sure you want to play?"

"Don't start," Skye said though she was smiling. "I'm fine now but I'm very frustrated."

"I think you need to trust Trevor," Mary told her wife sternly. "He knows what he's doing and what's at stake."

"A little less," Skye said. She spoke again as she gently began leading Alexis back to the game room, "I got a text from Doug, they've begun to find faulty parts in maintenance bays."

"Where?" Mary asked immediately.

"The southwest," Skye said. She wasn't surprised Alexis was looking at her in confusion and said, "Eris shipped out to there."

"Why are they here on this side of the country then?" the young woman asked, her brow furrowed.

"Because K&S Limited has a monopoly out here," Skye said. "And it's easier for them to get their hands on materials so Eris settled on New Jersey and here."

Nodding, Alexis went to the pool table and said, "So they have specific places they send parts to."

"That's the good thing," Mary said. "Less chance of those parts going where it's harder to find." She then looked at her wife pointedly and said, "We better start."

"And stop talking about the case?" Alexis asked. When the doctor nodded in mock seriousness she couldn't help smiling and told her, "You know I volunteered at a morgue once?"

"I'm surprised you did," Skye said.

"I needed to see where I was going to go with my career," Alexis replied.

"And you're happy with it," Skye stated, handing her wife a cue.

"Very," Alexis said. "I do like kids," she added, not surprised when the women began to laugh.

"Sorry," Skye said first when she and Mary had calmed down.

"You would kind of need to," the doctor said. "Okay, so who's first?"

"Alexis is," Skye said with a grin before she moved to the table to get it prepared.

Watching the investigator, Alexis suddenly thought of something and asked her, "Are you sure you're okay?"

"Yes, why?" Skye asked in surprise.

"You said the victims were with you," Alexis said. "The first four," she corrected herself swiftly.

"Yes," Skye replied, turning to the table.

"Rose," Mary said swiftly.

Sighing and leaning against the side, Skye said, "Lyla isn't with me."

"Is she with Jules?" Alexis asked in concern.

"She is," Skye replied. "She's still there though I have been trying to call her to me. She won't come."

"Why?" Mary said.

"Because I haven't had a chance to speak to her," Skye said. "I've apologized… repeatedly. But she won't come back."

"Is Jules going to be okay?" Alexis inquired.

"She will, I just hope she'll let me talk to her once Julia's back home," Skye replied. She then said, "I have to admit Alexis, your mom needs to learn that this is what happens when you have these kinds of abilities."

"She just doesn't want my sister to be hurt," Alexis replied immediately.

"And I realize that," Skye said. "But there needs to be a balance."

Seeing her wife hesitating, Mary commented, "You're thinking of your dad."

"Yeah," Skye admitted. She turned to Alexis and explained, "He was horrified after I collapsed in that shed at the zoo. He tried to get me to stop doing it and we got into a horrible row about it, but I told him it wasn't going to stop, and it might be more hurtful than anything else."

"And he stopped worrying," Alexis said.

"No, but the older I got the easier it was for me to handle it when spirits came to me," Skye replied. "It's going to be the same for Julia." She turned to the young woman and said, "Let me guess, she'll still worry?"

"After everything that happened to them when Jules was four? Of course," Alexis replied.

"I'm not surprised," Skye said, shaking her head. She then stood up straight and commented, "I'll have to ask permission from your parents, but we have to talk to Lyla. There's something she's recalled now and needs to tell us."

"But you're sure she won't just tell Jules?" Alexis asked.

"Luckily no," Skye said. "Your sister set some boundaries when she went to school this morning."

"How do you know?" Alexis said in surprise before the investigator was giving her her phone. "Lyla appeared to me before class, told her to go to you, thought of the door in the wall in front of home." She was about to speak when she noticed there was another message from a half hour before and read, "Lyla is back and upset but she is staying far enough away for me to pay attention in class. Don't tell Mom." She couldn't help snorting saying, "She'll notice."

"Yeah, I might have to talk to Julia too about her mom being much stronger in her senses since she's accepted her own abilities more," Skye said. She glanced at her wife and asked, "Session grá?"

"You're on your own," Mary replied easily before she checked the time. "Ready to start?"

"Yes," Skye said, hurrying to take the triangle off the pool balls. "Alexis, you'll break," she told the young woman, smiling when she laughed before she agreed. With that she leaned against the table, hitting the cue ball and starting the game.

"Mama, I go too?" Josie asked, tugging at her mother's hand while they were walking down the sidewalk towards the school.

"You are," Beckett replied. "Or did you want to stay home?"

"No, I want to dance," Josie said, speaking a little slowly to say all the words.

"You might not have the chance sweetie," Beckett said with a smile before she was stopping.

"You don't want me to take her?" Castle asked.

"It's not that far," Beckett said simply, not surprised when he nodded. They were entering the Academy's grounds shortly after that and she had to set Josie down since the toddler was wriggling against her. "Don't," she said, taking her hand as soon as Josie started to take a step.

"Mama-" Josie started to say before her father was scooping her up as he spoke.

"Hold on Josie," Castle said. "You know you need to watch the dancing first before you start practicing."

"Lizzy… see?" Josie said.

"She did too," Castle replied, kissing her temple. "Are you ready to watch though? It's very important." When the toddler nodded, he set her down and he and his wife took her hands as they made their way to the dance studio. Once they were inside and sitting, he had Josie on his lap since his wife was looking at her phone. He watched her for a moment before he leaned into her murmuring, "Alright love?"

"Yeah," Beckett said, putting her phone away. "I thought Julia might have texted me," she explained.

"I'm not surprised," Castle said, though he got a slightly uneasy feeling watching her. Before he could say anything, he heard one of the changing room doors opening before glancing over in time to see that it was their second oldest, Mari and Eliza behind her. He heard his wife's sharp intake of breath and was going to ask her what was wrong when Julia was walking straight to them.

"I know Mom," the teen said, her voice low. "Mari guessed something was wrong too."

"Who is it?" Beckett asked a little more sharply than she wanted to.

"Lyla," Julia said softly.

Sighing, Beckett said, "Have you talked to Skye?"

Shaking her head Julia replied, "I texted her and I know that she can't talk to Lyla right now. So Lyla wants to stay with me until then."

"And right now?" Castle said though he was watching Josie who was looking towards the door.

"She's where Josa's looking," Julia replied. "It's okay," she added swiftly when her parents were suddenly turning to her. "I know, but she can only see her."

"There's nothing we can do, is there?" Beckett asked.

"No," Julia said. "Just let me dance and it'll be okay."

Though she wanted to say it might not be okay in the end, Beckett found she couldn't really argue that and nodded before she pulled her daughter into her arms. She was relieved when Julia was hugging her tightly and told her, "Focus on your dancing."

"I will," the teen assured her, smiling as she pulled away from her. Kissing her mother's cheek quickly, Julia turned to her grandparents and hugged them before going to her father.

"Oh sure, I'm always last," Castle said in mock annoyance.

"It's only because Josa left," Julia said teasingly before she was hugging him tightly. After they'd let go of each other she said, "Make sure she's okay."

"Who?" Castle asked in surprise.

"Mom," Julia said before she had to hurry to the dance floor since Ms. Grey was stepping out from her office.

"Okay class let's have everyone gather around here," the teacher said. "Remember yesterday we agreed we were going to have a recap of ballet for the day since a couple of you don't have your partners here."

Realizing that Grey was right, Beckett looked on with the rest while they began dancing the various ballet positions. She smiled and relaxed seeing her middle daughters were dancing easily until the class was over and Grey was dismissing them. "I'm fine," she told her husband when she turned to him to find he was staring at her.

"I figured," Castle said.

Smirking briefly, Beckett told him, "I heard what she said."

"That's not surprising," Castle said. He laughed briefly when she playfully socked at his arm and then told her, "I had to do it, our daughter told me."

"I'm not surprised you're attending to her Richard," Martha commented, she and Jim having been listening to them.

"You want me to not listen to my kids?" Castle asked her.

Seeing her mother-in-law shaking her head, Beckett said, "He's right though, if Julia told him then there's a reason."

"What reason would that be though?" Jim couldn't help asking.

"I would guess that Lyla might go to you to speak," Castle said. "Remember the last time that happened?" He glanced at their parents and then asked his wife, "If that had happened now?"

Not surprised he had spoken in Irish, Beckett said in the same language, "It's why I paid attention to the class." She smiled when her husband leaned over and kissed the side of her head before she said, "We need to get back to the house."

"We will," Martha said. Seeing her son and daughter in law looking at her in surprise she nodded towards the changing rooms.

Turning that way, Beckett saw Martha was right and smiled seeing Julia talking with Mari, Peter and Clive. She then realized something and glanced around the room realizing there was no sign of Isaac or Genevieve, along with Rebecca. "We're missing some parents," she said to the three before they were immediately turning to Julia to her surprise before the teen began to speak with a wide smile on her face.

"I kind of asked them to come over for dinner," she told her parents, becoming a little tense since she didn't know how they would react.

"And did they ask their parents?" Castle asked, he and Beckett sharing a look.

"We did," Peter said. "And Mom and Dad are okay with it if you are."

"Same with my mom," Mari replied.

"Alright, but did they say if they would pick you up?" Beckett asked.

"Dad said he would come get us at eight," Clive answered first.

"I said we'd walk Mari back," Julia said.

"That's why we were only looking at Peter and Clive," Castle commented, smiling when Eliza giggled from where she was leaning against him.

"And we'll walk you home Mari," Beckett said, standing up.

"We better go," Castle told her.

"I noticed," Beckett replied.

"It's not going to rain, is it?" Martha asked in dismay since she'd looked outside herself.

"Hopefully after we're home," Jim said, waiting for Castle to pick up Josie so they could leave the studio.

Once they were outside, Julia looked up at the sky and asked, "Should we run?"

"Walk quickly," Beckett said firmly. "But don't run."

"We'll make it," Castle said.

Glancing at her husband, Beckett wasn't surprised when he merely looked back at her, and she took his free hand as they began making their way home before the rain threatening to fall above them finally commenced.
