"Are you alright? You seem so nervous."
"Oh, I'm fine. I never used online dating before." Nellie says nervously. She didn't know why she was so nervous, her date looked just as nervous as she did. "I'm just a bit old-fashioned, I prefer to meet a guy in person, that way we can get to know each other a bit, like my parents." She thanked the waitress for bringing her her drink.
"Yeah, I get ya." He takes a long sip of water and gestures for another. "But it wasn't easy for them either. People met in newspapers." Erik laughs with Nellie.
"The personals! I forgot about those!" Nellie always believed they were urban legends. "God, some even had a pen pal program." She and Erik giggled.
"Prisons were very popular with those. Even the worst of the worst had no problem meeting people."
"Those poor women." She laughs. Why was she so scared? He was a perfect date. She smiled when he took her hand.
"You want to get out of here? I know a great nightclub."
"Sure." An Irish pub wasn't her dream date, but maybe she'll get lucky tonight.
Down the street, a street performer was busking his guitar. He needed cash for tonight, he needed something warm to put his head down on.
"I ain't the son of the seventh son, black cats won't cross my path. Good luck comes I just watch it run and it sure runs out fast..."
He hoped singing Lynyrd Skynyrd would bring him luck, the last time he performed it he was singing at a popular nightclub back in the day. He finishes the last few lyrics of the song, hoping the well-dressed man walking by will give him a few coins.
"It's either good luck, I'm the last to get it. Bad luck, I'm the first. When it's good, ain't nothin' better. When it's bad, ain't nothing worse. Good luck, bad luck."
He strummed out the last few notes, looking up at the guy.
"Can you spare some change?" The man walks right by. "God bless you." He sighed. It was still early, hopefully his luck turned around. He rubs his hands together, fall was on its way. "Please. Even just for a hot coffee for tonight." He played his guitar, hoping his hands didn't stiffen from the chilly air.
In the shadows, a leprechaun was holding onto a gold nugget.
"It's your lucky day lad. Slainte is tainte." He aims the nugget at the busker.
The guy jumps when his guitar case shuts. Just when he was about to open it, a piece of paper flew in his face.
"Pleh!" He throws off the paper, but just as he was about to crumble it into a ball, some words catch his eyes.
"Calling all musicians! KQSF is holding auditions for a singer/guitarist for a possible new rock band! Those that are selected, will be opening for the Foo Fighters?!" He couldn't help but feel a sliver of excitement. However, he looked down at himself. "Get real." He hadn't had a shower or had a change of clothes in weeks. He sighed. Just when he was about to sit back down, something green caught his eye. "No way." It was a stack of money in a clip holder. Just when he was about to jump for joy, his consciousness stopped his celebration. "Nah. I can't." It was tempting, but he couldn't do it. Reluctantly he heads to the coffee shop nearby to turn it in.
The leprechaun smiled when he saw the well-dressed man come rushing back.
"Excuse me!" He was out of breath. "Did I leave my money here? It was in a silver clip."
Aisling smiles as the guy thanks the busker for his honesty. Not only did he pay him a fifty, he also gave him his card.
"KQSF?" The musician couldn't believe it. "But I don't know. I haven't had a bite to eat for days." He blushed when his stomach growled. "Sorry."
"I run the station. I'm sorry I didn't see you, I was too busy thinking about the contest. We had no choice but to cancel it, we're promoting the Foo Fighters' new album."
"Really. Good for you." He tried not to think about his stomach, the coffee shop smelled amazing.
"That's not the only thing. My cousin is the Fighters' manager. One of their guitarists is sick, and they need a guitarist for tomorrow's show."
"Good luck lad, you deserve it." He watches as they shake hands. The busker there, his honesty just doubled his luck. The station manager was calling the Foo Fighters' manager, he said he found a guitarist as well as a vocalist.
"You have time to get a passport right? Their world tour, they don't have time to audition anyone. If you don't, we'll get you one."
"Time for me to go." The busker there, his luck was finally going to turn around, his life was never going to be the same again. Same with the station manager. His bad luck caused him to lose his money but changed someone's life for the better when he returned to the coffee shop. He watches as they get in a cab together.
Just when he was about to give some luck to another deserving soul, he ran straight into a man.
"Begging your pardon, sir. I meant no disrespect. I'll just be on my way." Aisling was about to walk around before rushing off when he felt a thick hand around his neck. "Ack!"
"Humans. Where were you when I needed you." All that time in The Pit. "You gave me nothing but bad luck my whole life. Even in the Afterlife, my luck didn't change!" Aisling gasped when he saw the dagger.
"No, please! We had nothing to do with you!" Some humans were exempt from luck. Good or bad, everything has to do with the person's life decisions. He had to dole out major luck to the woman whose life was in danger from her online date.
"Too late." He stabs Aisling with his dagger. The leprechaun gasps as he feels himself fading away.
"I'm sorry." He tells Nellie. With his last breath, he sends his last nugget in her direction, hopefully, it reaches her in time.
Nellie was wondering why they were heading to a dark alley.
"Why are we going that way? Infinity is just a few blocks away." She never been to Infinity, but was hoping to see the Foo Fighters that were playing this weekend.
"This is a shortcut c'mon." He leads her down the alley.
She got nervous the deeper they went in. When he led her around the corner, she stopped dead in her tracks. She remembered watching a true crime series on YouShare.
"It's getting late, I better go." She turned around to take out her pepper spray from her clutch.
"What's wrong, don't you trust me?" The guy says in a hurt voice.
"No." She takes her pepper spray and sprays the contents in his eyes.
"Ahhhhh!" He screams as he holds his eyes. "Bitch! I don't need my eyes to see!" He goes to grab her.
Nellie took off running as fast as she could.
"Help! She screamed. She heard her would-be killer running behind her. "Someone!" She screamed in terror when a woman wearing black appeared in front of her.
"Go! I'm a cop."
"Yea." Nellie didn't care. She had to run. She needed the police.
The serial killer swore when his meal took off running.
"You bitch!" A seasoned virgin was so hard to find these days. He stares at the pregnant woman. "A whore isn't my first choice, but you and your baby will sate my appetite tonight." He didn't have time to react as a silver bullet hit his chest.
Jenna jumped seeing the werewolf getting shot. She followed the guy and his date here thanks to Murphy's directions, this psycho was known as The Heart Butcher. He killed three women after meeting them online on a dating site, then ripped open their chests by stealing their hearts. Murphy said he preferred older virginal women, which the wolf believed tasted like aged fine wine.
"I don't have time for this." A hunter must've been after this guy as well. She took out her own gun and shot him in the heart. "I won't be paid if I don't have proof." She took a picture and sent it to Murphy.
'Shot the wolf.' She had to leave, she heard police sirens.
'Good job. You'll get your pay as soon as possible.'
"Cool." She walked quickly down the dark alley, hopefully the hunter behind her didn't mind her finishing the kill.
Dean puts away his smoking gun. He didn't know who he was more angry at, himself, or his wife.
"I put my family at risk, for what?" He says to himself. But he had to know. "Murphy huh." He heard of the guy, but why didn't he call him? Why only his inlaws? Why Jenna? "You better have a good explanation." He turned around to walk back to his car. He didn't care if the cops saw him, maybe this Murphy guy could contact him. That way Dean could kill the bastard in person.
"Are you excited?" Piper was cooking Phoebe their mom's pancakes. She hoped they came out the way Phoebe did them.
"Yeah. But I don't know if I eat." Phoebe was incredibly nervous. "I'm getting married in a few hours." Her wedding was later this afternoon.
"Well eat. I made a lot. You can't walk down the aisle when you faint from hunger." Piper sets a plate in front of her. "Breakfast!"
"Mmm. Smells good." Sam says as he walks in from his morning jog. "Morning darling." He kisses his wife.
"Morning to you too." The dining table was full of food. "There's coffee and juice. Help yourself. Kids! Paige!"
"We're coming, we're coming!" Paige walks the girls downstairs. "Is that mom's?" She loved those pancakes.
"Made them myself." She hoped she got it down this time. "Mel, hold on. That's too much." Mel was filling her plate with too many pancakes.
"I'm hungry." Laura looked hungrily at the food.
"I'll help you." Sam gives her a few.
"What do you say?"
"Thanks, Uncle Sam. Aunt Piper." Laura wanted to eat, but she knew to wait for her parents to join them.
"Mel?"
"Sorry Mommy. Sorry, Daddy." Mel says. She looks at Phoebe. "Sorry, Auntie."
"Don't worry about it." She felt bad for Mel, she looked so ashamed. "Don't feel so bad, when you get older, you can have as many as you want."
"Ahem!"
"Within reason." Phoebe was chubby as a little girl. Penny tried to compensate for Patty's absence by trying to make them eat too much grandma-styled food. All of them gained a few pounds by eating too much. Luckily puberty came and the baby fat fell off. "What do you say to your mom?"
"Thank you." Mel has been talking a lot since Jenna got out of the hospital. "Daddy, can I have some juice?"
"Me too."
"Sure. What about you two?" As Sam poured the juice for the kids.
"Coffee." Phoebe needed her energy.
"Might as well pour everyone one." Piper had so much to do.
"Same here." Phoebe had an appointment at the salon. "Where's Jenna and Dean?" She took a sip of her coffee. They were supposed to come here to get ready, but neither showed up yet.
"Both are probably just waking up now." Sam knew Dean's habits well.
"Especially when you're pregnant. It's nearly impossible to get out of bed." Piper remembered her pregnancy.
"I can imagine." Phoebe tried not to feel jealous, she always wanted her own family. "Once they get here, let's eat." Hearing the doorbell ring, she gets up. "I'll get it!"
"Nope, I'll get it. Sit down. You're the bride, you don't need to lift a finger." Paige goes to the entryway. "You're just in time! Breakfast is served."
Dean kisses Paige on the cheek.
"Where's the bride?" Dean had a small box in his hands.
"We brought her a little something." Jenna was smiling, but her eyes were red.
"Jen, is everything okay?" Jenna looked exhausted.
"Late night." She yawned. "Is there coffee?"
"Yep, help yourselves."
"She'll have herbal tea instead." Dean ordered.
"Excuse me?" Jenna says with irritation. "I can handle one cup."
"The food's ready, come in!" Paige wondered if they had another fight. Laura spent the last few days here.
"Morning!" Piper saw the couple walking in. "Eat up. We have a big day today."
"Sure." Jenna sits beside her daughter. "Can you pour me a cup, Sammy?"
"Sammy huh? Since when?" Dean says in a cool voice. Not many called Sam 'Sammy' except Dean.
With the exception of the girls who were happily chowing down on the pancakes, everyone looked uncomfortable.
"Sorry Sam." Jenna looked like she was ready to cry.
"It's okay Dean. Piper calls me that too." Sam pours Jenna a cup. "It's fresh, she just brewed this."
"It's organic, I bought the beans from a local coffee shop." Piper wondered if they had another fight. Based on their body language, both looked like they barely could stand one another. "I'm sure it would be fine."
Pheobe didn't say a word; she didn't need to, she could feel the negative emotions. It was bad.
"Coop will be meeting us at Magic School. You think cupids eat?" Trying to change the subject. "Dig in, Piper made enough for everyone."
"I'm not hungry." Jenna lost her appetite. "I'll grab something before the wedding." She sips her coffee as she and Dean sit down.
"Why do you have a appointment? Or a job? It's your sister-in-law's wedding day. Don't be a selfish bitch."
"DEAN!" Sam saw the girls look up in shock. Both Mel and Laura were looking up in disbelief.
Jenna didn't say a word. She got up and ran out of the room.
"Oh god." Piper couldn't believe how selfish her in-laws were. Dean had this look on his face. "Girls, finish your food. There are starving people out there. Sam?" Poor Sam was bright red.
"I'm going for a drive." Dean threw down his napkin. "I'll meet you at Magic School. Bye, little Sis." He kisses Phoebe on the cheek and walks out the front door.
"Um. I'm gonna eat. It looks absolutely delicious." Paige wasn't hungry, but she had to make sure Phoebe's wedding day was perfect. "Your dress, tell us what your hairstyle is like." She didn't know who to feel sorry for. Everyone looked unhappy.
"Sam?" Piper whispered.
"I know. But I'll help with the dishes first." Sam wanted to punch his brother.
"Girls, tell me about Miracle. He's a good dog isn't he." Mel felt uncomfortable, while Laura's emotions were all over the place. Phoebe had to force herself to stay cheerful for her nieces. "Your dresses are so pretty ain't it!" She wished she wasn't an empath, Jenna and Dean, damn.
Dean needed a drink. Several. He drove to the nearest bar, determined to forget about his problems.
"Give me the strongest drink you have."
"This early?" California was allowed to serve alcohol at 6 am, but even the bartender was surprised to see someone drinking so early.
"I'm no pussy, just pour." Dean flashed a few bills.
"You got it, pal." He pours Dean his strongest whisky.
Dean downs the drink.
"Give me another." Dean orders.
"I'll have what's he having." Cole sits down beside Dean.
"Sure." The bartender wondered if they were having women's problems, both looked like they wanted to forget.
"Thanks." Cole takes a sip. "Bad day?"
"Yep." Dean holds his drink.
"Me too." Cole takes another sip.
Both sat in silence drinking their drinks. Neither said a word, all they cared about was the alcohol in front of them.
"You mind if I turn on the TV?" It was a little too quiet in the bar.
"Go for it." Dean didn't care.
The bartender picked up the remote and turned on the television.
"In today's top story, a man was found dead in an alley, a witness claims a 'guardian angel' saved her life when he tried to attack her."
Dean snorted.
"Guardian angel my ass." If Dean wasn't there, Jenna and that girl would both be dead. He downed his whisky. "Another one."
Cole watched the footage of the television scene, police tape was seen blocking the alley, a tent was shown blocking reporters from showing the dead body.
"The Heart Butcher. Serves him right." Cole didn't care what the other side was doing, whatever was going on out there was not his business. He saw Dean looking over at him.
"Hunter?"
"Only when I have to." Cole only eliminated those that threatened exposure.
"Hmm." Dean holds his drink. He didn't look up when another news story came on.
"Another dead body was found, police are currently investigating."
"Wonder if she'll take this case." Dean slurred. Since he didn't eat, the alcohol was running through him faster.
"Or the witches will." Cole threw down some bills. "I got you. I have my case to do." A dead leprechaun, Cole had to check this out.
"Witches?" Dean shakes his head. "Right." Phoebe's wedding. "I made a promise. I won't let anything ruin the wedding." Dean nods at Cole. "Thanks man." Dean hated charity, but he'll give himself a break. "Coffee. I need coffee." Dean needed a shower, plus pick up his and Sam's suits.
"Tell her good luck." Cole wanted nothing but the best for her. He walked out of the bar, and after looking around to see if anyone was looking, he shimmered away.
"Jenna?" Piper was knocking on the door. "Is everything alright?" She thought she heard soft sobs.
"I'm fine. I just need to be alone. Please."
"Okay. But just to let you know, we have appointments in half an hour."
"I'll be fine. Promise."
"Okay." Piper put down a cup by the door. "I left you a cup of coffee, just the way you like it."
"Thank you."
As tempting as it was to open the door, Piper wanted to give Jenna her privacy. She was glad Sam was keeping Laura distracted, poor girl didn't deserve to see her parents fight.
"How is she?" Phoebe felt so bad for her.
"Just give her some time." Piper respected her privacy. "I need to get ready."
"Me too." Phoebe had so much to do.
'A dead leprechaun? No offence, but what does that have to do with me?' Jenna dealt with human matters, not magic. 'Wouldn't the sisters be on this instead?' She typed. She was looking at her phone, trying to see if there was anything unusual for her to check out.
'Usually, but something seems off. Normally I'll keep out of this, but I feel like this is just a deterrent for something bigger.'
'A distraction. Got it.' Jenna was still sore from her last case, but a simple investigation should make Murphy happy. 'After this, I'll need a vacation.'
'Not a problem. I have other employees. Give Phoebe my best.'
'I will.' Jenna wondered how he knew Phoebe, but remembered the time she and her sisters went into hiding all those years ago. Murphy back in the day was a government agent sent to spy on the sisters. She checked her phone for any unusual cases, especially deaths.
Deep in a hidden meadow, a group of leprechauns were chattering in panic.
"Another one of us was found dead!" Seamus was the one who had the unfortunate task of retrieving his body.
"Dead? How?" Another leprechaun asked.
"Stabbed with an athame." Leprechauns were usually invisible to humans, although they could walk among them either as small people or as average-sized men. Tall leprechauns were rare, the other leprechauns considered them tricksters due to the pranks they pulled on people. "Man didn't do this."
"Demon?" Finnegan asked.
"Maybe. Although I can't figure out why." Demons usually didn't bother with fairies, fairies knew how to defend themselves.
"Then be vigilant lads. If there is a demon hunting us, make sure to be careful, otherwise, we'll face Fortuna's wrath."
"Fortuna." Liam sighs. "If only she liked little people." Fortuna was greatly admired by the fairie folks, especially by the leprechauns. "Shame she only likes humans." She had a half-human son.
"Forget about her, concentrate on saving our own necks. This demon, if he kills us all, luck will disappear." Bad, good, there was a balance that had to be strictly maintained. Seamus jumps down from his rock. "That's not the only thing, his Shillelagh was taken."
"His Shillelagh. That's not a good sign." Shillelaghs weren't just a walking stick for leprechauns, they were also a magical conduit for transportation. "That demon could easily track us down." Every Shillelagh was connected. Finnegan gripped his own Shillelagh. "Just be careful, if we need to, we'll combine our magic to give the bastard a taste of bad luck."
"Aye! Aye! Aye!" The other leprechauns chanted.
"Where's Jenna?" Phoebe was in the salon getting her hair done. She was reading a wedding magazine.
"Said she had a last-minute job with her agent." Piper was already done, she opted for a simple hairstyle, she didn't want to outshine her sister.
"Must be some project, she's been out every night." Paige was back on the force but was stuck working nights.
"Doing what?" Piper was reading a magazine from her chair since there were no customers, she decided to talk to her sisters.
"Taking selfies mostly." Paige wondered why she was out so late, but seeing Dean following her, she figured she'd be okay. "Maybe she's working on a documentary."
"She's really late though." Phoebe looked up at the clock. "If she's not here soon, she'll miss her appointment." She watched as the stylist braided her hair in a twist. "Not too much, I'm going on my honeymoon later tonight." She wanted her hair down at the reception, her and Coop were heading to Ireland for their honeymoon.
"As you wish." She goes to place something in Phoebe's hair when she sees a light appear on the mirror. "A rainbow?" Before she could turn around, she froze in place.
"Piper?" Phoebe saw it too.
"I'm sorry to disturb you, but we need help!"
"You can't just appear in the middle of a salon! What if someone saw you?" Paige quickly checked to see if anyone was gawking in the windows. Luckily the salon was empty, other than themselves and the frozen stylist, they were alone.
"Glad Mel and Laura are with Dad." Piper did their hair at home, the girls hated their hair getting fussed.
"Please tell me you are only here to bless us with luck. Not that I need it, Coop and I already paid for the insurance."
"We need help, our kind is getting killed left and right!" Shamus didn't like asking for help, but this was an emergency.
"Of course." Piper rubbed the bridge of her nose.
"So much for a perfect wedding." Phoebe sighed. She knew it was too good to be true. "Give us the details, so we can get this over with."
Cole looked out at the balcony, he always liked the fresh air.
"That was a big risk, going out in public." Patience scolded. "Especially when talking to a hunter." She was in Massachusetts, but she and Cole communicated long distance.
"I doubt he'll care who I am." Cole knew Dean Winchester by reputation but never faced him face-to-face in a fight. "Besides I have to be seen, otherwise I cannot fulfill my mission."
"By saving your father? Even the Charmed Ones don't have that power." A broken soul was nearly impossible to save, it was unheard of that it can split in half. "Besides, Gabriel allowed you access to Heaven, you can move on for good."
"Not without him. He is an innocent man. Once I release him, then I can finally rest." Cole was done after this. "We have so much time to make up, Elizabeth wouldn't let us have that."
"Hmph." Just then Cole's condo started flashing red lights. "Dammit." The Manor was in trouble. "There must be an intruder." Patience and Cole put in a magical alarm system just in case.
"I gotta go, take care Patience."
"Yep." Patience had to go back to work anyway.
Cole stood outside the Manor, but not before shooting a text to let the girls know that there was a possible break-in. He shimmered inside, taking a quick glance around the living room.
'Very nice.' Phoebe's wedding must be today, the room was ready for her reception. 'I wish you all the happiness in the world.' Cole wondered if her wedding was happening right at this moment. He pushed the memories of her away, they were long over. He stood still to see if there were any sounds, but hearing a faint cough, he realized it was coming from the basement.
Cole wondered if the intruder was after the Nexus, wouldn't be the first time. He walked across the living room, he had to make the intruder believe it was one of the Halliwells coming back. Being careful not to walk too heavily, he goes to the kitchen, acting like he is just casually getting something to eat.
'You are not ruining her special day.' Cole always regretted hurting Phoebe, she lost a lot thanks to him. Opening the basement door, he goes inside.
Piper had a huge headache. Right after they left the salon, they followed the leprechaun to the hidden meadow and immediately were attacked by demons. Naturally, they were easily defeated, they were nothing but low-level demons.
"Yuck." Paige was wiping her brow, she and the leprechauns did most of the work, and neither Piper nor Phoebe wanted to ruin their hair. Luckily Piper's magic was easily doubled thanks to Phoebe's mind. "Are you okay little guy?"
"Little? Hmph. I'm over three hundred years old little girl! Have some manners!" The leprechaun who was called Belvin scoffed. He wasn't too injured, the one called 'Murray' barely hurt him, however, he thanked Paige who healed him anyway.
"Why would they go after you?" Phoebe checked her watch, she only had a few hours left.
"We don't know. But we're getting assassinated left and right, that's why we came to you. My lady." Shamus always liked tall women, that Paige girl, she was now single last he heard.
"Killing leprechauns. I'm heading back to the Manor to check the Book." Piper had so much left to do before heading to Magic School.
"And I have to have last-minute alterations for my dress." Phoebe's hair was already done but still had to talk to Fate about details. Luckily Fate was free today, her Brother was doing the Books. "See ya." She uses a rainbow to leave.
"I'll stay behind. I'll need to do some interviews." This wasn't exactly police work, but this was a good case to solve. "Shamus, tell me how the first attack happened." She pulled out her notepad, she always carried one just in case.
Piper jumped hearing a crash. She immediately runs towards the basement, that's where the noise came from. She grabs a bottle from the table, just in case.
Cole ducked just in time before the dagger hit his heart.
"Really? You know that can't kill me." He conjures up a fireball.
"Belthazor, the greatest demon that ever lived." Elizabeth's experiment was a failure. "I looked up to you! We all did!" How Cole came back from the dead over and over, all of demonkind wanted to learn his secret. "At least this time around I'll have bragging rights once I kill you." Before he could rip out the dagger to kill Cole, he screamed as he was splashed with holy water.
"This is a private affair." Piper was holding a water bottle she grabbed from the living room. She chanted the dispossession spell to get rid of the demon.
"Arghhhhh!" The dead vessel drops dead as the demon smokes out.
"I don't think so." Cole snaps his finger before the demon can escape.
POOF! The smoke disintegrates.
"I'm assuming that was you who sent me that text." Piper wondered why he was here, but was too tired to care. "I'll offer you a cup of coffee, but I'm way too busy at the moment." She turns around.
"Piper wait." Cole pulled out the dagger from the basement wall. "I..." He looks at the dagger. "Nevermind. Give Phoebe my best."
"I will. Take care Cole." Piper walks upstairs.
Cole stares at the dagger.
"It can't be."
"God I hate this thing." Dean adjusts his suit. Wasn't a tux, but Dean hated getting dressed up.
"What's wrong with it?" Sam was wearing a suit as well, although it was different from Dean's. "Just a few days ago you were wearing designer clothes." He adjusts his cuffs.
"Weddings man." Dean threw down his tie, it was too much. "Let's get this over with." As much as he was happy for Phoebe, he was too distracted. "Let's grab the girls, let Sis have her sisterly moment with Phoebe."
"I can't believe I'm getting married." Phoebe stares at herself in the mirror. "After today, I'm no longer single."
"And you'll never be again." Piper gave her dress a final tug. "There!" She wasn't the best seamstress, but Grams gave her a few lessons. "The girls should be ready soon. Paige, did you give them their baskets?"
"Yep, the aisle will be covered in flower petals. And before you asked, I already made arrangements for cleanup." She agreed to help the leprechauns with their investigation, whoever this demon was, he needed to be stopped. "Where's Jen?" Jenna wasn't here yet.
"Maybe she's with the girls." Piper was wondering that herself, Dean and Sam brought the girls over along with Victor.
"Well, she better hurry, I'm about to walk down the aisle." The nymphs were playing the bridal march since only magical creatures were allowed in the school. She picks up her bouquet. "Paige, can you check?"
"Sure." Paige picks up her bouquet and peeks out at the library. "I don't see her. Maybe she's in the bathrooms."
"Dean, calm down." Dean was pacing back and forth. "She's most likely using the ladies room." Jenna wasn't here. "I'm sure she came with Piper and the others."
"It's not that." Dean hoped she wasn't in trouble. They had that fight this morning, no one has seen her since. "She's been hunting."
"Okay." Sam knew she was helping the sisters with their cases. "She wouldn't do it today, she knows how important this day is."
"She better not." Hearing music playing, they walk out to take their places. "We have a long drive to Anaheim tomorrow." Disneyland, he was looking forward to it, that way he could keep an eye on Jenna.
Coop was nervous standing at the altar, he never dreamed he could marry, especially as a cupid.
"I'm so nervous." Phoebe was shaking. "Look at me, my hands." They were trembling.
"It's just jitters. You can do this. Remember mine?" Piper was terrified at hers.
"It's not because of Coop, what if this marriage is doomed as well?" Phoebe sighed.
"Oh Pheebs." Piper hugs her. "He's not a demon, and you and Coop are meant to be."
"I asked Fate, all she said some things are out of her hands." Phoebe had to know if she and Coop were going to be together forever. All she said some things are not prewritten. She looked around. "I hope Paige and Jenna are here soon, I'm literally about to walk out." The Bridal March was about to begin. "Finally!"
"Sorry!" Jenna apologized. Her hair was in a fancy hairstyle, but not too fancy, she didn't want to upstage Phoebe. "Had to go to a different salon, I had to meet a client who called me the very last minute." She was breathing hard.
"Are you alright?" Jenna looked exhausted.
"I'm...fine." She breathed. She forced herself to calm down. "Are you ready?"
"I am." Paige was walking out after the girls and Jenna. Hearing the music, she gets ready.
"This is it." Phoebe sighs. "My happily ever after." Coop was waiting.
"Yes it is. C'mon Dad is waiting." Piper was curious how she got here, only witches and magical creatures had the know-how to access this place. Hearing the music, she got the girls ready. "Don't throw the petals too hard okay?"
"Okay." Mel and Laura were walking out first.
"Let's go." Phoebe takes Victor's arm.
Dean couldn't help but smile seeing everyone walking down the aisle. He smiled at Laura and Mel throwing down petals. Seeing his wife walking out after them, he blushed, she looked incredible.
Coop was smiling seeing Phoebe walking out. He couldn't wait to say his vows.
Once Victor kissed her cheek, he hands her over to Coop.
Jenna was smiling at Dean who was holding Laura, she was tired from standing so long. She pushed the events of her day out of her head, now wasn't the time.
"Do you Phoebe Halliwell take this man to be your lawful wedded husband?" Fate asked.
"I do."
Dean was wondering where she was this whole time, he wasn't dumb, he knew how this place worked. Jenna didn't come with the girls.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife."
Phoebe and Coop blushed when everyone clapped.
"Party at the Manor!" Once they stopped kissing.
"I'll meet you after!" As part of the cleanup agreement, Jenna volunteered to stay behind.
"Same here." Dean looked closely at her expression. Sure enough, she swallowed.
"More the merrier!" Jenna chirped. She volunteered for a reason, hopefully Dean never suspected a thing.
"We won't be long, we'll be there before the cake cutting." Jenna knew time moved differently here, she and Dean would be back in no time flat.
"Have fun!" Phoebe and Coop walk out holding hands.
Once the guests were gone, she and Dean started cleaning up.
"Dean, you know where the janitor station is? I need a broom." Petals were all over the library.
"I can check." Dean walks out.
"Don't forget a garbage bag!" Once he was out of the room, Jenna picked up her cell. "Hey. Agent Violet here." She gave herself a nickname, to make herself stand out.
"The leprechauns, what did you find out."
Dean was standing behind a bookcase, he had to know what Jenna was up to.
"You were right. It isn't about the leprechauns. This demon, he's a hired assassin."
Jenna felt bad she was ditching her friends, but a job was a job.
She waited till everyone left before she snuck out. She was glad Dean wasn't home, for once she wanted to do her job without help. She parked her rented car down the street, she didn't want anyone following her. Murphy gave her directions where to meet him, he insisted it was important that they met face to face.
"Murph...I mean hello?" She called out. She wondered what this was about, they usually just talked long distance. She was waiting underneath a bridge, she hoped it was private enough. Hearing her nickname, she jumped when she heard a voice.
"Agent Violet." Murphy was dressed like a homeless man, he didn't want to draw suspicion.
Jenna held up her pepper spray, humans weren't the only ones who hated it.
"Not too close. Christo." Not all demons were affected by it, but Jenna always muttered it whenever she was alone.
"I'm unarmed." Murphy held up his arms, showing off anti-possession bracelets, as well as a small cross on his neck.
"Okay, but forgive me for holding this." Jenna refused to put down her weapon.
"Fair enough. Not here. We need to meet alone. Go ahead, do your tests."
"I cannot be long, I have a wedding to get to." She was a bridesmaid. She was driving to Murphy's motel room, a cheap dump in one of the city's more unsavoury areas, but neither cared about danger. Once they arrived at the motel, Murphy led her to his room.
"Normally I would send messages, but I needed to see you in person." Murphy travelled a lot but came here for a reason. He grimaced smelling himself, Jenna's holy water made him smell worse. "Remember the case about the leprechauns?"
"Yeah?" Jenna wondered why he cared about them.
"Normally demons don't clash with the fairie world, too complicated."
"Ditto with hunters." Dean never liked to talk about it, but Sam drunkenly told her about Dean's 'abduction.' The probing, Sam warned her to never bring it up. "Why involve me?"
"Because I think they are merely a distraction. Something or someone wants every witch and hunter off their trail."
"I already killed that wolf." Murphy paid her very generously after seeing those pictures.
"The wolf was just a job. This, this is much more sinister."
"Call the Sisters then. Magical cases are not my job." She gets up to leave. "I'm giving my notice, I'm going on maternity leave." She and Dean agreed to let Nina go, it was too risky to keep her around. "I don't know if I will ever be back." That last case, she felt awful putting her children in danger. Her unborn baby, she remembered Dean's eyes when she was hurt. "Goodbye."
"Wait. This will be the last one. I have other agents, but none are as well-trained as you. Please."
"Fine." Jenna was flattered, she didn't think she was that good. "What is it."
"Those killings, the one offing those leprechauns, they stole their luck."
"Huh?"
"Luck. Or should I say, magical nuggets. This demon, he's stealing luck."
"And that involves me how..." Jenna checked her phone. Yikes. She missed her appointment, which meant she had to spend a fortune for a last-minute stylist.
"Normally I'll stay out of this, but I found out something. There were other killings, your sister's ex-husband, was indirectly involved in a few murders."
"The landlady." Jenna thought Cole was innocent.
"And a witch."
"Was it Janna?" Jenna didn't have time to check it out, Dean and Sam beat her to it. However, she did pull out the records from the coroner's and sent them to Murphy.
Murphy shook his head.
"It was a shop owner."
"What does Cole Turner have to do with it?" It was a stabbing, while Janna was killed by a fireball.
"To be honest, I'm not too sure. But I need you to investigate. After this, I'll let you go with a generous severance package."
"Fine." She and Dean needed to provide college funds for their kids. "Tell me where to find a leprechaun."
Jenna wondered why she was here, she doubted she'd find a leprechaun living alone in an old house. She knocked.
"Mr...Aidel?" When the door creaked open, she took out her gun. "Not suspicious at all." Seeing a black cat running by, she raised her eyebrow. Was Murphy looking for a witch instead? She cautiously looks inside. "Cats?" There were so many. "Um, hi." How many were they?
The cats stared curiously at Jenna when she walked in. She wondered how much Murphy knew, this address, he told her to come here and talk to the tenant.
"Excuse me. Your master, Mr Aidel. Where can I find him?" She was startled when grey smoke came from every cat in the room.
"Mr Murphy, he sent you here to find me right?" The cats, all combined into a man.
"Aidel I take it?" Jenna puts down her gun. Magic, she'll never fully get used to it. "I thought he didn't hire witches."
"Times change." He coughed. "Sorry." He hacked up a hairball. "Murdered leprechauns huh? Come with me, the demon responsible, I have an idea what's he after."
"A what?"
"Something about an Ancient Athame." She shrugged. "Don't ask me, I don't know what that is."
She jumped when Dean grabbed her shoulder. "I, I'll call you back." She clicked her Blackberry. "Dean." His expression was unreadable.
"You're not doing this alone. Ancient Athame huh?" He looked around the library. "We have a lot of books to read. Start digging."
Cole sipped his cognac, he wondered how Phoebe's reception was going.
"I hope you will always be happy." He looked out the dark sky. "Dad." Benjamin Turner wasn't complete yet, his other half, Cole didn't know where to start. Hearing alarms, he put down his glass. "Oh no you don't." No way was Phoebe's special day getting ruined. He closed his eyes to see what was going on. "You."
"Cole!" Valen had his arms around a young man. "Bring your ass here or the witch dies!" He was holding onto a dagger. "Your Cupid, I sent a SOS!" He laughs as Cole's vision fades away.
"Dammit." Cole didn't care about the witch, but he knew how Valen worked. Bastard was always trying to climb up the ranks. He sent a text to Patience, letting her know what was going on.
"Got it!" Dean hated reading, he felt like his eyeballs were about to explode. They've been researching for hours. "Montgomery Knox wrote in his book there is an ancient weapon that can destroy souls."
"A weapon like that, that demon must be wanting more power." Demons were corrupted souls. "I thought it was an arrow that could do that." Leo Wyatt, Piper's former fiance died in the Astral Plane.
"Not this one. It isn't easy to destroy souls, however, this weapon can also change and twist reality."
"Figures." She had a headache. "Why would a demon go out of this way to kill Cole?" She and Paige talked about Cole, and how he was being framed for murders he didn't commit.
"I'm not Sam, but I'll try my best to explain." Dean was annoyed that his wife kept such a big secret, but now wasn't the time. "This thing by itself, it's harmless. Yes, there are weapons similar to this one, including a twin version of this weapon."
"So what makes this weapon so special?"
"It was specially made to be a weapon of mass destruction."
"So much for insurance." Phoebe wasn't happy that her reception was interrupted, especially with Dean and Jenna not showing up, but she didn't care. "Coop, why would a demon capture your charge?" Aidel wasn't just a witch, he was also a friend of the Head Cupid. She already changed to her street clothes, they were heading to Ireland in a few hours.
"I don't know. But he handles the paperwork for us. My boss doesn't like attending the annual meetings." Coop didn't blame him, he went once, and being around all those magical beings arguing gave him migraines. "He's also a powerful witch. This demon, if he kills him, he'll take his power."
"Never heard of smoke secretion, I always thought it was exclusive to demons." They were walking across a graveyard, Paige and Sam were combining their magic to keep them safe.
"It's rare, but some witches use it to hide from their enemies." Piper read the entry in the Book. She was glad the reception mostly went well, till Coop got that message. "Jenna, she must've been working on this case."
"Then why hide it from us?" Phoebe wondered. "If this was magical in nature, we could have helped."
"Which explains why Dean isn't here." Sam and Dean already checked out the dead body of Janna Luz, she was definitely killed by a demon. The security footage of the two IRS murders, they immediately recognized Jenna at the coroners. "We'll kill this demon, save the kid, that way you can move on with your day." Sam looked around till he saw two shadowy figures. "There."
"Not any closer!" Valen had the dagger over Aidel's head. "His body won't be the only thing that dies, his soul as well!" He sneered at the group. "Mortuos vivifica illos!"
"Whatever." Paige uses her whitelighter powers to summon a Shillelagh and throws it at Valeen before running toward Aidel to take him away. "Ah!" She tripped as a hand from the ground grabbed her.
Valeen laughs as the dead come out from the graves.
"You think it would be that easy? Have fun!" He laughs. He clutches his knife.
"A what?" Jenna felt bad about the scattered books, but at the moment didn't care.
"The Ancient Athame. It was thought to be lost for centuries. Forged by a god, it is believed it existed before time began."
"The First War." Jenna heard about God and The Darkness from Phoebe and Paige, although she didn't really believe it. "What's so special about it?" She sits beside Dean intrigued.
"This knife, it isn't easy to wield. It has a security feature, that those who are unworthy are destroyed by the weapon."
"Can I see that?" Jenna looks closely at the drawing. "Doesn't look like much." The athame was so ordinary looking. "The Ancient Athame. Coveted by Man and everyone who comes across it lusts after its power. Can't be that easy to find, here it says it's nothing but a legend." She pushes the book back to Dean. "How could a low-ranking demon get a hold of this thing? Never mind using it."
"Ask your boss." He looks at a silent Jenna. "Why hide this from me?"
"It's not what you think. Our relationship, I mean work. It's purely professional. I just wanted to do something with my time. You, Sam, Piper, you all leave me out of things. My hunting skills, I'm way better than I ever was." She looked fearfully at Dean. "Devon, I just wanted to finish what he started."
Dean sighs. Devon, Dean knew he was a hunter, but never knew he was working for someone.
"You should never hid this from me."
"I know." She leans into Dean's shoulder. When she heard the bells outside ring, she looked out the window. "Crap! Phoebe's wedding!" She totally forgot. "We have to get out of here!" She quickly gets up. "I'll pay for a maid to clean this up." The sky was pitch black outside.
"I don't even know where the exit is."
"We'll ask the janitor." School was currently in session. "God, I hope she forgives us."
"Don't think you're off the hook."
"Later!" Forget Murphy, this deadly weapon was more suited for the Sisters.
Valen laughs at the chaos. Zombies were everywhere, the witches and their hunter were having a hard time killing them all.
"Can't you blow them all up?" Piper was incredibly strong.
"I'm not there yet!" She blew up a zombie that came too close. "If only Prue was here." She tried freezing, but her powers were useless against the horde. "Just keep fighting!"
"Argh!" Sam thrust an iron gate rod into a zombie's heart. "Use your magic!"
"I would but that Valen guy is stronger than he looks!" Phoebe kicked a body away. "Don't forget about the innocent!" No way was they letting a fellow witch die.
"Iron rods! Hit the zombies!" Paige used her powers to take the iron rods off the ground.
Valen laughs harder.
"Why? They have nothing to do with you." Aidel never met the Charmed Ones but heard stories. "Agh!" When his iron chains squeezed him harder.
"Like I give a damn about them. Do you think I care about any of this? Of you? I'm just here to have some fun!" He was amused at the cupid pathetically trying to help. "Nothing's going to stop The End, I'm just here for bragging rights." He used the dagger to see who would be his first victim. "Which one should I kill first?" The oldest Charmed One? She was always a pain. The former Queen of the Underworld? Or the half-breed? Valen was deciding when he felt a fireball. "Argh!"
"Really Valen? How pathetic." Cole shimmered in front of the Charmed Ones. "Piper! Get rid of the zombies!"
"Got it." They knew a spell, but couldn't concentrate with so many zombies attacking at once. She uses her powers to send the nearest zombies away. "Guys!" Once Phoebe and Paige join her, they start chanting.
"Living Dead
Return to Sleep
Walk no More
And Be at Peace!"
Like magic, the graveyard was empty again.
Valen was clapping.
"Very nice. But that was just a show. Hey! Catch this!" He throws the dagger at Coop.
"No!" Losing Coop would destroy Phoebe. He rushes to Coop and pushes him out of the way. "Ugh." The athame, Cole knew he was finished. The dagger was deep in his chest. Immediately black streaks appeared where the dagger was.
"Fuck this." Piper blew Valen across the graveyard. "Sam!"
"With my pleasure." He takes out Ruby's knife.
Valen laughs.
"I did what no one else could do, not even the great Charmed Ones. I beat Belthazor." He grins madly as Sam stabs him. "Yeah, that's not going to work. It does tickle though."
"Dammit!" With that weapon, Valen was completely invisible. "Any ideas?" Piper tried using her powers, but they bounced harmlessly off the demon.
"A depowering spell?" Paige was healing Cole, but the dagger's effect was working faster than she could heal.
"I wrote a quick one, the zombies gave me an idea." Phoebe gestures to her sisters to join her. "Let's hope this works."
"He Who Bears the Ancient Blade
Return to Ash,
From This Lesser
Demon's Veins
The Power of Three Releases Thee
The Power of Three Will Set You Free!"
Valen smirks when his magical shield shatters, without it, the ancient weapon starts to consume him.
"I still won, don't think I didn't enjoy myself." He grins as he is vanquished in a bright light.
"Coop." Phoebe needed to see if he was okay.
"He, he saved my life." He hugs Phoebe who runs to his side.
"You okay?" She tears up, they were just married.
"I'm fine. Cole. Save him." Coop saw it, that weapon, it was already killing Cole.
"Phoebe. Dad." Cole closes his eyes.
"You can't take my son!"
"Daddy!" A young Cole holds out his arms, tears streaming down his face. He screamed when Benjamin was killed by Elizabeth.
"I'm Phoebe. Phoebe Halliwell." A beautiful college student was smiling bashfully at Cole.
"Phoebe..."
"It's over."
"I understand."
Cole saw his memories being wiped away. He was standing in the Manor, looking at his demonic reflection.
"You tried so hard to be good." Belthazor taunted.
"I am. I vanquished you." Cole saw the Manor melting away.
"So you thought. You can still save us."
"Cole. Paige, can't you heal him?"
"I'm trying!" His injuries, Paige knew it was much more than mortal wounds.
Cole saw many memories, many happy, but also many regrets.
He saw himself holding a dagger over Phoebe's head as they kissed. He was under orders, kill the Charmed Ones.
"I love you Cole." Cole looked surprised. No one has ever said anything like that to Cole. Phoebe was staring at him with love.
"I...I love you too." Cole quickly hides the dagger underneath his cushion.
"I was such a fool." Cole had so many regrets.
Leo and him weren't close, but he remembered having a good time with Leo at the Giant's game at the stadium.
"Never had a brother-in-law before, once Piper and I are married, we can go to many games with our future sons!" They cheered when the home team made a hit.
"A son huh?" Cole never thought about it.
Cole rarely cried, but he was smiling sadly at the next memory.
"My son." Baby Cole was smiling up at Benjamin. "Everyone, meet my boy!" Benjamin Turner was proudly showing him off to his workmates.
"Aww! So cute!''
Even as a baby, Cole was glad to have Benjamin to himself. Elizabeth was scary.
"Phoebe. Dad." Cole felt the tears streaming down his cheeks.
''We can still be saved. Evil, we can rule forever." Belthazor was staring at him from the mirror. Around them, the Manor was quickly fading away to nothing. "Your human side will be dead, but your demonic side could still be saved."
Cole paused. He'd been evil for years, and he hated to admit, that "Belthazor" was right. A demon was immortal.
"I can protect Phoebe. Even as a demon, good and evil will join as one. Come." Cole's demonic half was gesturing for Cole's human half to become one.
Cole, found himself reaching toward his reflection. The Manor will disappear soon, as well as his memories.
"Cole? Cole? Please wake up!"
"Phoebe." Cole felt tears streaming down his cheeks. "You still care." Maybe their relationship was over, but she was crying out his name.
"Nice try. Belthazar is dead." Cole smashes the mirror. Becoming a full-fledged demon, Cole's human side will disappear forever. "I rather die with honour."
"I don't think there's anything we could do." Paige was trying hard, but even if Cole was fully human, there was nothing any of them could do.
"Keep trying!" Phoebe begged although she knew Paige was right. That dagger, it wasn't an ordinary one.
"You're. Alive. Thank god." Cole knew this was it. "You...Protect her." Coop was using his cupid magic to see if it could help Paige.
"I will. I swear." Coop didn't care much about Cole, especially since he was a demon, but the man lying on the ground was a good man. "Paige."
"I know." She collapsed on the ground in exhaustion. "I'm sorry Cole. I tried my best." She didn't pull the dagger out, she wasn't sure if it was safe to touch.
"Save...everyone." Cole was covered in black streaks. He looked up at Phoebe who was crying. "Take...care." Everyone he was seeing no longer existed. "Win. No...matter..." He felt his eyes getting dark. "Dad." Benjamin. Cole hoped he'd be free soon.
Phoebe sobbed when Cole died in her arms.
"Thank you." She didn't love Cole, not anymore, but he saved Coop's life. "Thank you for everything." She held Cole's head as she cried.
"I'm so sorry." Coop kneeled down to hold his wife.
Sam held Piper who was crying silently.
"I'm sorry." Sam didn't know the full extent of their relationship, but he could see how much in pain everyone was.
"He was the one that told us about that weapon. But we had no idea it would end up like this." The Ancient Athame, Piper never heard of it. She wipes her tears away, she had to be strong for Phoebe. She walks over to Phoebe and Coop. "Sorry, that dagger. I need to see what we're dealing with." She goes to pull it out.
"Wait! You don't know how dangerous it is." Paige pulls down her sweater, being careful not to touch the weapon. "We don't know what we're dealing with." She slowly and carefully pulls it out of Cole's body. "Huh?" Why did this look so familiar? "This is Richard's knife." She remembered her ex Richard showing this off to her. "I thought he got rid of it." Richard told her he had it buried in a never-ending desert.
"Coop?" Phoebe closes Cole's eyes. She knew Cole was gone, but she hoped he was at peace.
"I don't know. I suggest you look in your book." Coop helps Phoebe up once she lays Cole's head on the ground. Coop was wearing a coat, he took it off to lay it on top of Cole's face.
"Um. Sorry to interrupt. But I think we need to make arrangements." Cole needed to rest. Sam saw dry leaves and branches around the graveyard.
"A wedding and a funeral. Cole, you sure came full circle." Phoebe laughs crying. "You always made me laugh." She looked around the graveyard. "His ashes, place them by Benjamin. That way they can be together."
"I can grab some sheets at home." Paige orbs away, but not before wrapping the athame around her sweater. She needed a hiding place, this thing, Paige wondered if it could be destroyed.
"Sam and I could get the pyre ready." Piper and Sam saw a clearing.
"Phoebe." His promise to Cole, Coop swore to make it happen.
"What?" She wasn't crying because she lost the love of her life, Cole was in the past. She was crying because she was saying goodbye to her youth.
"Cole...Nevermind." Now wasn't the time. "You want to skip the honeymoon?" Coop was using his cupid's ring to fly them there.
Phoebe shakes her head.
"Cole would want me to move on." She wished she had flowers or Cole's favourite cognac. "Mind if we have a drink before we leave?" She sighed. "That demon, who was he?"
"Most likely a nobody." Coop and the other cupids had crash courses on demons. "Here's your sister. Sam and I will prepare the body for burial." He saw Paige holding sheets.
Salem, Massachusetts
"Cole." Patience felt a tear going down her face. She and Cole weren't close but shared a special bond.
"Patience? Is everything okay?" A young African-American woman was tidying up the tourist shop for tomorrow's guests.
"Just allergies." Patience wiped away her face. "Let's close up and go home." Cole, Coop wasn't the only one to make a promise. Once Sarah had her back turned, Patience sent out a text to Kareem Scales.
'Find me the half-angel/half-demon hybrid. I'll can pay.'
Mattie, Patience knew he was the only one to help her fulfill Cole's final wish. She put away her phone, she had a body to retrieve.
The Underworld
The Princes of Hell bowed down fearfully at the new Queen. This wasn't who they thought this was, whatever this creature was, it was most likely older than Earth itself.
The Queen smiled at Its subjects, Hell's citizens were bowing down to the new ruler.
"Your majesty." A witch bows down to the creature. "Cole Turner is dead."
"Good. My Master, your Master. Soon will be freed." It looked over at the one called 'Azazel.'
"Yes, my Lord." Lucifer, Lilith, neither would stand a chance against this creature. This thing, it was Hell Itself.
"Find me the witch."
"Yes, Master." Prue Halliwell, Azazel didn't know where to start.
Dean and everyone watch as the pyre burns.
"To Cole." Piper didn't understand why he put himself in danger, guess she'll never know. She and Sam held up beers, Dean was nice enough to bring a pack.
"I love you." Phoebe held Coop. They used the cognac to splash over Cole's body, but not before sharing a drink.
"Same here." Coop had an obligation to Cole. He just wished he knew where to begin. He hugs Phoebe.
"I have my paperwork to submit." The leprechauns would be glad to hear how they were once again safe. Seamus told Paige that a lot of luck was coming their way as a thank you.
"What now?" Jenna felt terrible, she failed her mission again. Dean was right, she wasn't meant to be a hunter.
"You have to ask your boss." Dean stared blankly at the fire. Devon, if only Jenna knew what really happened to him. He holds his wife.
"Rest Cole. Hopefully somewhere your counterpart found peace." Phoebe watches as the ashes fly up in the morning sky.
