It's Christmas. Mario, Sonic and all their friends are gathered in a cottage to celebrate Christmas. The atmosphere is as warm as the fire in the fireplace. Quietly seated on sofas, our friends chat in good spirits.

- Sonic: That meal was so good ! Peach is a great cook !

- Mario: That's true. A real treat !

Suddenly, Sonic smells something delicious. It's Peach, who's just come out of the kitchen, cookie tray in hand. She places it on the coffee table and sits down next to Mario.

- Peach: I made cookies!

Immediately, everyone pounces on the cookies, of which not a crumb remains. There's a big smile on every face, except Shadow's, who's the only one who hasn't had a cookie and hasn't said a word all evening.

- Silver: Delicious!

- Tails: SO GOOD!

- Mario: Peach, you never cease to amaze me.

- Peach: Thanks! My pleasure!

Mario takes another cookie. He eats it and breathes a sigh of relief.

- Mario: It's really been a lovely evening.

- Luigi: You're right, big bro ! It's great to be together for Christmas !

Sonic slumps down on the sofa and looks thoughtful. He jumps to his feet and winks at his friends.

- Sonic: How about making the evening even more enjoyable?

Everyone stares at each other, intrigued.

- Blaze: What do you have in mind?

- Sonic: How about some Christmas stories? To get us in the mood?

- Amy: Good idea!

- Knuckles: This is gonna be interesting. What do you think, BatGirl?

Rouge squints, annoyed by Knuckles' teasing. Despite this, she answers:

- For once, I agree with you.

- Sonic: Good! Who's going first?

Everyone takes a moment to think. After a few seconds, Mario turns to Luigi and Peach.

- Mario: Remember that famous Christmas when we were kids?

Peach and Luigi smile.

- Luigi: You bet I remember! We were 8 and Peach 7. It was a crazy Christmas!

- Peach: A magical Christmas.

- Sonic: Well, don't keep it to yourself, tell us about it!

- All: YES, TELL US !

- Mario: Okay! So, it was Christmas Day...

Mario universe, Mushroom Kingdom, Peach Castle, many years ago

It's Christmas Eve. The castle is completely covered in a great blanket of snow, and stars light up the sky. In the castle hall, dozens of Toads are busy decorating the giant Christmas tree. With just a few decorations left to add to the tree, the Toads are alerted by children's laughter. Mario, Luigi and Peach have just left their room. The three children descend the main staircase and enter the hall, jumping up and down.

- Mario: Hurry up! It's almost time!

The trio run past the Toads, a little disturbed by the children's excitement. As they run, they push up a ladder where a Toad is hard at work. Despite his best efforts, the Toad falls backwards, along with the decoration box he was holding. The Toads help their comrade with an exasperated sigh. In the kitchen, Toadsworth takes about twenty brownies out of the oven. Attracted by the smell, the children pounce on Toadsworth.

- Luigi: I want one!

- Peach: Me too!

Despite his confusion, Toadsworth manages to keep the tray of brownies in his hand. I must say, he's used to the mischief these kids get up to.

- Mario: Please, Toadsworth! Give us one brownie each!

- Toadsworth: You'll get one, but only after lunch!

Toadsworth returns to the stove, as the three children look on in disappointment.

Later, the meal is almost over. The children and the Toads seem full. Toadsworth doesn't look like it, but he's a good cook.

- Toadsworth: Right, now it's time for dessert!

Toadsworth takes one of the trays, covered with a bell. The Toads can't wait to discover the dessert hidden inside. But when Toadsworth removes the bell, there's nothing left but a few crumbs.

-Toadsworth: My brownies! But where...

Toadsworth and the Toads immediately turn to the children, who can't help but smile in embarrassment.

- One of the Toads: Children! How dare you ?!

- Luigi: Uh...we're innocent until proven guilty.

Suddenly, Toadsworth's face turns red. He looks so furious you'd think smoke was coming out of his mushroom.

- Toadsworth: Go to your room! Now!

The children get up from the table, heads down.

- One of the Toads: I'm sure those brownies were delicious, Toadsworth!

- Mario: They were!

In anger, all the Toads run towards the children, who scurry away like rabbits. Fortunately, Toadsworth stops the Toads.

- One of the Toads: We've had enough, Toadsworth!

- Another: Yes ! We always have to suffer the consequences of their silliness !

- Another: They're not worthy of being heirs to the kingdom!

- Toadsworth: Calm down! I'll talk to them.

Immediately, Toadsworth heads for the children's room, where they are lying wisely in their beds.

- Toadsworth: Children, I have a question to ask you.

The children sit up.

- Toadsworth: Do you know who Santa Claus gives presents to at Christmas?

- Peach: Well, all the kids!

- Toadsworth: Wrong, young Highness! He only gives them to good children! When I was little, I never got any presents because I was a bad boy like you!

- Mario: You, Toadsworth?! Impossible.

- Luigi: I don't believe it for a second.

- Toadsworth: And yet, it's true! All right, stop interrupting me and listen up! If you don't put things right, you're not on Santa's nice list! And if you're not on the nice list, you don't get any presents!

- Mario, Luigi, Peach: WHAT?!

- Toadsworth: Think about it! See you tomorrow! Sleep tight!

Toadsworth leaves the room. Mario, Luigi and Peach stare at each other, bewildered.

-Mario: "Sleep well"?! What a joke !

- Peach: We must be on the nice list, right?

- Luigi: Of course! We've been good this year!

- Mario: Hum...remember when we put Cheep cheep in Toadsworth's bed?

- Peach: And when we made everyone think that Bowser had kidnapped me when I was just hiding in a closet?

- Mario: And when we stole mushrooms from the store?

- Luigi:...WE'RE DOOMED !

- Peach: Now we're definitely not on the nice list...

- Luigi: And it's too late to change things...since it's Christmas Eve...

Luigi and Peach grimace. Mario, on the other hand, smiles.

- Mario: Well, all we have to do is write our names on the nice list! And we'll get our presents!

- Peach: But Santa lives at the North Pole!

- Luigi: Yeah! And how are we going to get there? On the back of Yoshis?

- Mario: Well, what do you think is easier? Fix all our messes before tomorrow or go to the North Pole?

Luigi and Peach think, then shout:

- NORTH POLE, HERE WE COME!
