"Izuku…"
A bright yellow glow appeared in his line of sight. "Izuku…"
Izuku opened his eyes. As he opened his eyes, the light faded. There was a strange thing on the ceiling. The water around him drained and Izuku saw that he was in a bed-like thing. It was hard and uncomfortable.
The voice he had heard before spoke to him again. "Take the Sheikah slate off its pedestal."
Izuku sat up and saw a strange-looking pedestal with a hand-held device resting on it. Izuku walked up to it and touched the device. When he did, the device came off of the stand. He examined it for a little bit and put it on his belt. The door next to him slid open. Hesitant at first, he walked through the open doors and saw a small ledge. He grabbed onto the ledge and climbed to the top.
Walking a little farther ahead, Izuku saw the exit. He walked outside and stopped on a cliff edge. There was a castle in the distance that had purple mist swirling around the outside of it.
"Izuku. Hyrule needs you. Please, come to the castle you see before you and defeat the Calamity…" The voice seemed to be coming from the castle, because when the girl spoke again, there was a bright yellow light that shined from the windows on the highest floor. The light vanished and Izuku heard somebody yell to some-one.
"Oi! Over here!" Izuku looked at where the voice came from. There was an old man sitting at a campfire that was under a rocky ledge. The old man was waving at Izuku, who waved back.
Izuku walked over to the old man and sat down across from him. "Do you know where I am?"
"You are in a place known as the Great Plateau." The man answered.
"Did you see that light? Is there some-one in that castle?"
"I believe there is."
"Who are you?" Izuku asked finally.
"I am simply an old man."
Izuku picked up a roasted apple and put it in a small bag he had already had with him. Izuku looked back up at the man, who just smiled in return. "You can take that. I have no purpose for it."
"Say, that device on your hip, could it be a Sheikah slate?"
Izuku nodded. "Yeah, I guess it is."
"Hm…could you be the long-lost champion? Tell me, what is your name, young one?"
"Um…" Izuku remembered what that girl called him. Izuku. "My name is Izuku."
"Izuku…what a nice name. Say, that Sheikah slate can come to good use."
"What do you mean?"
"There is this ancient pedestal off to the north. If you could use the Sheikah slate to activate it somehow…"
"I'll do it!" Izuku offered. "I'll activate it for you!"
"Why, thank you, young Izuku. I do warn you though, there are monsters here. You'll need to be prepared. You'll need a weapon to fight those vile creatures."
"How do I get a weapon?"
"You could sneak into a monster camp and grab their weapons before they have a chance to find you, or you could use something else."
Izuku held up a tree branch. "Could I use this as a weapon?"
"As long as it works."
