- Luigi: PEACH! WATCH OUT!

Unfortunately, it's too late, and Peach runs into a carriage full of presents that she hasn't seen. All the presents fall out, and so does the young princess.

-Mario : Peach! Are you all right?

- Peach: I'm fine...oh no! I've lost the key!

- Luigi: Let's find it! It can't be far.

As the children begin to search for the key in the mountain of presents, some Toads approach.

- One of the Toads: Look at the mess you've made! And who are you anyway?

- Luigi: Er...well...

- One of the Toads: Wait!

The Toad analyzes Mario and Peach from head to toe and seems to be suddenly seized by an illumination.

- Toad: Red cap, blue overalls...you're Mario?!

- Another Toad: And you...that crown...are you Princess Peach?!

- Another Toad: I have no idea who the green one is...

Mario and Peach nod. Luigi lets out a long, exasperated sigh.

- One of the Toads: Holy mushrooms! The young hero of the Kingdom and the princess here, in our factory?! How can it be ?

Mario thinks. We've got to come up with a ruse, quick.

- Mario: Uh...actually, we've been invited by Santa Claus to visit the factory!

- One of the Toads: I'm not surprised, celebrities like you! Please forgive our misunderstanding! On the other hand, you've made quite a mess...

- Peach: I'm sorry...we'll help you!

Immediately, the children and the Toads start putting the presents away. After a few minutes, Mario takes advantage of the Toads' inattention to get away with Peach and Luigi.

- Mario: Quick! Let's find the key!

- Peach: I looked for it in the presents, but I didn't see it...

Mario looks around, thinking. Then he notices the sleigh full of presents not far from the wagon.

- Mario : Maybe the key landed in the sleigh! Let's take a look.

The three children head for the sleigh and start rummaging through it. They unwrap, ransack and damage the presents in their search. The sleigh becomes dangerously empty of presents. Finally, Peach finds the key at the bottom of the sleigh.

- Peach: I found it! I found it!

- OH NO! What have they done?!

Surprised, the trio turn around. The Toads are devastated. Almost the entire sleigh has been emptied, and the presents are almost all damaged.

- Luigi: Oh, we're in trouble. ...

- Mario: Hurry up! Let's write our names on the nice list and get out of here!

Key in hand, the trio rush down corridor C where the list is. Suddenly, a silhouette stands in their way. They bump into it and fall backwards.

- Mario: What the...?!

Mario raises his head. He's bumped into Santa Claus.

- Santa: Oh! Sorry, I didn't see you...oh! You found my key!

Indeed, Santa is amazed to see that Mario has the key in his hand. He takes it back almost by force.

- Santa Claus: Thank you so much! I really need it.

Santa puts the key back in his coat pocket. The trio, terrified, see all their hopes dashed. Suddenly, a Toad comes running.

- Toad: Santa, this is horrible! We'll never deliver the presents on time! Christmas is ruined!

- Santa: Calm down ! What happened?

- Toad: Remember the sleigh accident 11 years ago?!

- Santa: Is it that bad?

- Toad: Even worse! Look!

Santa admires with horror the sleigh, completely emptied of presents. The trio then realize their enormous mistake.

- Santa: Oh, this is serious! I'll go and have a look.

- Toad: This Christmas is going to be horrible !

The trio look on in desolation as the Toads try to repair their damage.

- Luigi: Oh no...what have we done?

- Peach: We've ruined everything...because of us, there won't be any presents for all the children on Earth...

Mario sits down against the wall, tears in his eyes.

- Mario: Toadsworth was right...we haven't made up for our mistakes.

The trio bow their heads in shame. Suddenly, Mario stands up.

- Mario: Hey...can we at least fix this one? What do you say?

Luigi and Peach smile again and yell:

- OK!

At the heart of the factory, everyone is getting organized. Our trio is determined to help the Toads in making new presents. Mario helps make the toys, Luigi helps with wrapping, and Peach places the presents in the sleigh. Everyone's willingness and cooperation made the work much easier, and the sled was full again in barely an hour.

- One of the Toads: It's good, guys! The sleigh is full!

Everyone is jumping for joy. The trio, the Toads and Santa Claus dance and high-five each other. But now is not the time to linger. Day will soon dawn, and the trio must return to the castle.

- Mario: Sorry, but we have to go now. We were happy to help you!

- Santa Claus: Are you leaving already? Thanks for your help! Return safe !

- The Toads: GOODBYE!

Our trio goes through corridor C to go towards the exit. Everyone is smiling.

- Luigi: Do you realize? We saved Christmas! How many kids can do that?

- Mario: Yes...but I don't think there will be any presents for us this year.

The trio passes right by the nice list's room, thus reminding themselves of their basic objective they did not achieve.

- Peach: We've all come this way...and we failed.

As the trio prepares to leave the factory, the sound of a key is heard. A Toad, broom and bucket of water in hand, enters the nice list's room to clean.

- Peach:...Or...maybe not...

The trio enters the room, where a gigantic list covers the ceiling and even all the walls. Thousands of names are written.

- Luigi: Wow! This is the nice list!

The Toad notices the children and approaches them with his broom.

- Toad: What are you doing here? You know it's forbidden!

- Mario: Yes but...we were looking for you! There's an emergency in corridor E! Someone spilled syrup on the floor!

- Toad: What?! I'll take care of it !

Immediately, the Toad leaves the room. Mario can't help but show a satisfied smile.

- Luigi: Honestly big bro...where do you get ideas like that?!

- Mario: Well, I don't know...just like that!

The trio is nearing the end of the nice list. Mario takes a pen from a desk.

- Peach: We finally succeeded...well done boys!

- Mario: Come on Mario! Write our names!

As Mario is about to write, he stops. He seems to be thinking.

- Luigi: What are you waiting for?

Mario finally writes. Peach and Luigi smile.

- Peach: Ah yes, good idea!

- Luigi: It will be our best Christmas!

Back to square one. The trio returns to the crate they left, are taken away by the postmen and return to the castle, just at daybreak. The trio enters the hall, there is no one there yet.

- Luigi: Do you think it worked?

- Mario: Well, let's hope!

- Peach: Look at the foot of the tree! A present !

Indeed, a single small present is placed at the foot of the tree. The trio approaches when Toadsworth, accompanied by a few Toads, joins them.

- Toadsworth: Hey, hello! Already up and dressed, children? Oh, look at this present! Who is he for?

The children take Toadsworth's hand and place it on the gift.

- Peach: Well...it's for you, Toadsworth.

Toadsworth, speechless, has tears in his eyes.

-Toadsworth: Huh, is it for me? Can we open it?

- Mario, Luigi, Peach: YES!

The children unwrap the present. Toadsworth looks inside and takes out a trumpet, which shines under the shine of the tree decorations.

- Toadsworth: Oh, a trumpet! I dreamed of having one when I was little!

The trio gives Toadsworth a big hug.

- Peach: See? Santa Claus thought of you this year!

Mario discreetly approaches Luigi and Peach and whispers:

- Mission accomplished !

The hug is stopped by the Toads, all happy.

- Toad: There are presents there too, come on!

The children go around the tree and discover a mountain of presents intended for them. They are amazed and baffled by all these toys. Confusion reigns.

- Mario: I don't understand! Why did Santa Claus give us presents?

Luigi suddenly notices a letter on the ground and opens it.

- Luigi: Look, a letter from Santa! "My dear children, there will always be a place on my nice list for those who think of others first. Keep it up! And thank you for the little helping hand. PS: Look at the bottom of the envelope."

At the bottom of the envelope, small green balls.

- Peach: Marshmallows!

Suddenly, Toadsworth plays what appears to be the Christmas song on the trumpet. The notes are so wrong that everyone covers their ears.

- Peach: They're not marshmallows!

Immediately, the trio places the plugs in their ears. Outside, the stars twinkle and the snow falls, accompanied by the music of Toadsworth.
