Before anyone else can move, the bright light was back, in out came future Isabela. This caused everyone from the past to look at their Isabela in worry. Alma gulped while looking between both the future Isabela and her time period Isabela. So, this must mean I have also messed up my first grandchild, Alma thought with a sad sigh.
"Hello Isa," FMirabel said to her oldest sister with a smile. FIsabela looked at her sister and ran up to her with a big hug. Everyone was confused, as they all saw how they treated each other on the screen, but Julieta, Agustin, Isabela, and Luisa was happy they are now getting along.
After the warm hug, everyone went back to the screen to continue. bracing themselves to what they are fixing to hear.
MIRABEL- "Isa? Hey. I know we had our issues, but I'm ready to be a better sister... to you."
"By faking that I care so I could fulfil a prophecy." FMirabel said in the same tone to her on-screen self.
"At least you can laugh at it." Both Brunos said.
"True," Alonso said with a laugh.
MIRABEL- "So we should just, hug. Let's hug it out. Huh?"
ISABELA- "Hug it out? Luisa can't lift an empanada."
"What," Luisa said looking at FIsabela.
"Sorry, I was being dramatic," FIsabela reassured Luisa, who sighed in relief.
ISABELA- "Mariano's nose looks like a smashed papaya."
"For the record. That wasn't my fault. Let the records show that it was in fact yours miss perfecta." FMirabel sat up straight pulling a face and plumping her lips out.
"Why the British accent?" FIsabela asked, referring to the second half of her statement.
"Don't know." She shrugged. "Just felt right."
ISABELA- "Have you lost your mind?"
"Yes," Alonso and FIsabela said, though Alonso just whispered it, hoping Delores didn't hear it.
MIRABEL- "Isa, I feel like you're upset. And you know what cures being upset? A warm embrace."
ISABELA- "Get. Out. Everything was perfect. Abuela was happy. The family was happy. You wanna be a better sister? Apologise for running my life! Go on. Apologise."
"Isabela, you didn't need to taunt." Her Mamá chided.
"Sorry mama," FIsabela said, with a sheepish smile.
MIRABEL- "I. Am. Sorry."
"Was it really that hard to apologise to your sister?" Her Papá questioned, one eyebrow raised.
"Yes." All of the future people said with a straight face. All the past people did was looked at each other with worry.
MIRABEL- "That your life is so great!"
"Way to get that hug Mira." Luisa laughed. Alonso also laughed quietly so his wife wouldn't hear.
ISABELA- "Out."
MIRABEL- "Wait. Fine. I apologise. I wasn't trying to ruin your life! Some of us have bigger problems, you selfish, entitled, princess!"
"Mirabel. That wasn't very nice. Name-calling is never the right thing. You never know what someone else is going through." Julieta told her daughter sternly.
"Yes, Mamá." FMirabel apologised.
ISABELA- "Selfish! I've been stuck being perfect my whole entire life and literally, the only thing you've ever done for me is mess things up!"
Here Alma looked at both Isabelas with a frown. She felt disgusted with herself, and wished she could turn back time to stop herself from causing so much trauma for her family.
MIRABEL- "Nothing is messed up! You can still marry that big dumb hunk!"
ISABELA- "I never wanted to marry him! I was doing it for the family!"
As Isabela's rage with her youngest sister grew a small cactus appeared from beneath them.
"What!" The family yelled out. Alma paled, she was taking her eldest grandchild's choice away.
"Isabela, Mi flor. You didn't want to marry Mariano?" Agustín placed a hand on his eldest's.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Abuela stood up. "I never would have forced you. I may have been bad but not that bad."
"Because I didn't want to disappoint you. I'm the eldest grandchild. Everyone expects me to be perfect. I just... didn't want to let everyone down." FIsabela explained to everyone. Alma just sighed with sadness, tears starting to form.
"Isabela, mi amour, you would never disappoint us for not loving someone. You know that right?" Her Mamá said.
"I know that now Mamá." FIsabela said with a smile. Past Isabela just sighed with relief that she doesn't have to marry Mariano.
MIRABEL- "Oh my gosh. Isa, that is a very serious confession. Okay, get over here. Bring it in. Isa?"
"Really? Still trying for that hug?" Luisa shook her head in disbelief.
Isabela:
(Singing)
I just made something unexpected
Something sharp
Something new
"Well, your powers are to grow and control plants. Chlorokinesis, also known as Agrokinesis, Botanokinesis, and Phytokinesis, is the ability to mentally and/or physically summon, control and manipulate plants and vegetation, and that is your power, so why wouldn't you be able to summon a cactus," Alonso told both Isabelas. Everyone paused at that, and they found the information interesting. They wanted to know what their powers are called as well.
Mirabel:
(Speaking)
Isa? Uh, this is the part where we...
Everyone just looked at FMirabel, who just shrugged and blankly looked at the screen.
Isabela:
(Singing)
It's not symmetrical or perfect
But it's beautiful
And it's mine
What else can I do?
"From where this is going, a lot of things you can do, Isa," FMirabel said as she and FIsabela looked at each other and snickered.
Mirabel:
Wait! Bring it in, bring it in
Good talk! Bring it in, bring it in
(What else can I do?)
Let's walk! Bring it in, bring it in
Free hugs! Bring it in, bring it in
"Stop with the hugs Mirabel!" Everyone yelled, which just caused FMirabel and FIsabela to laugh.
Isabela:
I grow rows and rows of roses
Flor de mayo
By the mile
I make perfect, practiced poses
So much hides behind my smile
"Isa..." Her parents turned to her with a sad smile.
Julieta's deepened the longer the film went on. So she will fail all three of her little girls? How could she fail so badly as a mother? Upon seeing her mother's upset state, both Isabelas placed their hand on her thigh.
"I'm so sorry, mi dulce chica." (My sweet girl.) A tear escaped Julieta's eyes.
"It's not your fault Mamá." FIsabela reassured. Alma just looked down in though. If I treated Isabela like this perfect golden child and she feels like this that means Julieta also feels like this, she thought with sadness in her eyes and a frown on her face, oh Julieta I'm so sorry.
Isabela:
What could I do if I just grew what I was feeling in the moment?
(Do you know where you're going? Whoa!)
What could I do if I just knew it didn't need to be perfect?
It just needed to be? And they let me be?
A hurricane of jacarandas
"Woah," everyone exclaimed in awe of what was happening on screen.
Strangling figs
(Big!)
Hanging vines
(This is fine)
Palma de cera fills the air as I climb
And I push through
What else can I do?
"From what Alonso said, apparently a lot, and I'm so sorry for trying to control in what you grow," Alma told to both Isabelas. They smiled at her.
Can I deliver us a river of sundew?
Careful, it's carnivorous, a little just won't do
"I'm sorry, carnivorous," Julieta said, which caused FIsabela to shrink a little and tried to hide. FMirabel laughed a little, until she saw her mother looking at her with her 'mom' look.
I wanna feel the shiver of something new
I'm so sick of pretty
I want something true, don't you?
Everyone nodded, thinking that pretty was getting kind of boring. Alma thought for a moment and agreed.
Mirabel:
You just seem like your life's been a dream
Since the moment you opened your eyes
(How far do these roots go down?)
All I know are the blossoms you grow
But it's awesome to see how you rise
Everyone smiled at how the sisterly bond is strengthening. Little Mirabel looked around at the smiling faces and laughed. This caused everyone to laugh as well.
Isabela & Mirabel:
How far can I rise?
Through the roof, to the skies
Let's go!
Everyone was clapping along with the beat and smiling at each other.
A hurricane of jacarandas
(Whoo!)
Strangling figs
(Go!)
Hanging vines
(Grow!)
Palma de cera fills the air as I climb
"It's nice to see you so happy, Isabela," Alma said looking at both Isabelas and they just beamed with pride.
And I push through
What else, what else?
What can you do when you are deeply, madly, truly in the moment?
(Seize the moment, keep goin')
"So colorful, I didn't realize there were so many different colors for plants," Camilo said, as he was use to the pink ones that Alma would force Isabela to grow.
What can you do when you know who you wanna be is imperfect?
FIsabela gasped as she watched one of her plants hit Mariano in the nose once again.
"I'm assuming by your reaction that that wasn't intentional." Dolores pointed at the screen.
"No! Absolutely not!" FIsabela defended herself. "I may never have wanted to have married him but I would never want to hurt either." She said.
"Looks like your plants have a mind of their own then." Félix shrugged.
"Well..." FMirabel said. "One tried to literally eat me earlier so... unless Isa wanted to kill me or eat me..." She trailed off.
Isabela:
But I'll still be okay
Mirabel:
Hey, everybody clear the way
(Whoo!)
I'm coming through with tabebuia
(She's coming through with that booyah!)
Everyone was dancing in their seats, having a good old time. Alonso pulled his wife in a kissed her, which she returned.
Making waves
(Making waves)
Changing minds
(You've changed mine)
The way is clearer 'cause you're here, and well
I owe this all to you
Isabela wrapped her sister up in a warm hug showing her gratitude.
"Oh. So that's how the hug happened." Luisa commented.
"Not bad girls." Bruno approved with a thumbs up.
"And look, it really is helping the magic and candle," Pepa said, pointing at the screen. Alma perked up, now knowing how she run things isn't the best way, and she vowed to change things. She also has a feeling that there is another reason Mirabel might not have gotten a gift.
Isabela:
What else can I do?
Mirabel:
Show 'em what you can do
Isabela:
What else can I do?
Mirabel:
There's nothing you can't do
Isabela:
What else can I do?
The two girls landed on a bed of flowers that Isabela had placed there for a soft landing.
Everyone kind of gotten a heart attack seeing them fall, but let out a breath of relief when they landed on a pile of flowers.
ISABELA- "You're a bad influence."
She flicked a flower at her sister as the two laughed.
ABUELA- "What is going on?"
"Oh, here we go, FBruno said. Alma went pale, what was she doing, she thought.
The girls froze as they heard their Abuela. Isabela more than Mirabel.
"Oh no..." Everyone heard Alma whisper.
MIRABEL- "Abuela, it's okay! Everything's... we're gonna save the miracle! The magic..."ABUELA- "What are you talking about? Look at our home! Look at your sister!"
"Girls, I am so sorry." Alma said to the future Mirabel and Isabela. They just smiled at her in reassurance.
MIRABEL- "Please, just... Isabela wasn't happy! And she didn't-"
ABUELA- "Of course she isn't happy. You ruined her proposal."
"I should have just listened for once." She continued to apologies.
"Sorry to agree, but yes you should have, because of what Mirabel told me what happened after this, everything could have been avoided," Alonso said with fire in his eyes. Everyone kind of just scooted away from him, except for FMirabel, FIsabela, FBruno, and little Mirabel.
MIRABEL- "No, no, no. She needed me to ruin her proposal. And then we did all of this. And the candle burned brighter and the cracks... "
ABUELA- "Mirabel."
MIRABEL- "That's why I'm in the vision. I'm saving the miracle!"
ABUELA- "You have to stop Mirabel!"
Bruno, next to Mirabel, let out a large breath as the tension raised to breaking point.
ABUELA- "The cracks started with you. Bruno left, because of you."
"EXCUSE ME," Alonso said angrily. This startled FMirabel a little as she never heard him yell before. Alonso was shaking in anger. He stood up to walk away from them to cool down a little, as he felt ashamed for startling his wife. FMirabel went after him to help calm him down. Alma looked down in shame, thinking that she was a horrible grandmother and a horrible mother. In her head she was making a list of things to change.
